0:00 My organizing life started right here in the state of Texas.

0:06 I was a teenager.

0:10 Was kind of when I was reached out

0:12 to by community organization out here based in Texas.

0:16 I was a kid and it was.

0:19 It was a grassroots organization right here

0:22 that when I was a kid really helped me.

0:26 Myself for the first time.

0:31 Resources and it was right here.

0:34 And so it impacted me so much as a kid that when I

0:38 got older I just continued working in the community that invested in me.

0:43 First, I see that Puerto Rican flag right there once.

0:47 And so.

0:50 I love you back.

0:51 I love you back.

0:52 And so.

0:53 But we love Jessica too, and so, So what happened was that.

1:01 In my late teens and in my early 20s I spent a lot of time here.

1:07 A lot of time organizing.

1:11 I took eight hour drive from here down to Eagle Pass.

1:15 I spent time in Laredo.

1:17 I spent time in Houston and in Dallas all over this day.

1:20 A lot of people don't know that.

1:22 And.

1:36 No joke, no BS me nada and I have believed that since I was 17 years old.

1:43 And.

1:44 And here's The thing is that when I when I first called Greg,

1:47 I was like yo what's happening out there in awe.

1:51 I'm sorry what's going on.

1:54 And and he told me he told me about all the organizing you all are doing.

1:58 And you know, there's so many races, many of them are pivotal, pivotal, pivotal.

2:02 And there's so much that's going on across the country.

2:06 It's really hard trying to figure out where you spend,

2:09 like just your 24 hours, 48 hours.

2:11 And y'all are y'all are doing a great job in out in Austin, right?

2:16 And I'm like.

2:17 You know, but.

2:20 Technically, one could look at this and say like let's go to another place.

2:23 You guys don't need my help, right?

2:26 Except what I told Greg is that the reason it's important

2:29 to be here is because what you all are doing is different.

2:33 You all are building infrastructure.

2:38 You're building infrastructure.

2:41 You are unionizing.

2:42 You are striking shout out to our striking Symphony workers out here.

2:51 Shout out to our Starbucks workers who

2:53 are declaring an attempt to unionize out here.

2:59 You all are passing City Council ordinances that are some

3:02 of the first in the country to tackle state violence.

3:08 Y'all are doing a lot and we have to make

3:12 sure that this becomes a springboard for the state.

3:16 That's why I'm here for the long game for the long haul.

3:22 I don't care how many cycles it takes, it's going to happen.

3:28 It is going to happen.

3:31 Texas turning blue is inevitable.

3:36 I'm not gonna ball.

3:42 It will happen.

3:44 The only question is when Texas.

3:47 The only question is when?

3:50 So the work that you put in today, the work that you put in tomorrow,

3:54 the work that you put in on Monday when you go one more door when you're tired.

3:58 When you make one more call when you feel exhausted, you're bringing that day.

4:03 One day sooner one day sooner one day faster.

4:08 This state will turn blue.

4:11 It's going to happen with the seat of San Antonio and Austin.

4:14 It's going to spring down to Laredo.

4:16 It's going to go up to Houston and to Dallas, and to all across the state.

4:21 Rural and urban and suburban.

4:24 We're gonna fight for a living wage as a minimum wage.

4:27 We're gonna make sure we unionize the hell out of this state.

4:31 We're going to make sure that we

4:34 confront corrupt industries and lobbyists and big money.

4:38 And we're going to make sure that not

4:40 one dime is made exploitatively across any worker, especially the undocumented.

4:45 We're going to protect.

4:47 We're going to protect all people from abuse of power, of all kinds.

4:53 That's what we're here to do, so I wanna talk about these two races.

4:57 Let's talk about Greg.

4:58 Let's talk about Jessica.

5:04 I'll start with Greg.

5:06 Greg has a proven.

5:08 Visionary track record on the City Council.

5:12 He comes from grassroots organizing.

5:15 He is from this.

5:16 He's not new to this.

5:18 He is true to this.

5:21 So you don't need to take his word for it,

5:24 you just need to look at what he has already done

5:28 with the trust that you have given him in the city of Austin.

5:32 He's worked to expand access to housing that's actually affordable for people.

5:40 He's worked to take on tackles of abuse and and police brutality and make

5:46 sure that we actually have accountability for people that they can be safe.

5:51 Actual public safety investing in our schools and our education.

5:55 Raising our wages.

6:02 That's what he's been doing here on City Council.

6:07 And it is absolutely not a surprise at all why he's so far ahead in this race,

6:15 but we gotta make sure.

6:16 Here's the thing about correct phrase.

6:18 We gotta give him a big margin of victory.

6:23 A huge margin of victory.
