0:23 Our adventure begins right here in the lobby, so let's go check it out.

0:39 Here we're going to check out a Savanna View King room.

0:43 So in here there are so many really nice African inspired touches.

0:48 So this is a king room and it sleeps two.

0:50 But there's also rooms that have two queen beds and sleep four.

0:54 And then back here.

0:56 This is the magic.

0:57 So in the savanna view room you can look right out into the animals.

1:01 You can see a giraffe out there.

1:03 How cool is that?

1:05 And then there's a table and chairs.

1:06 So sometimes I do work when I'm at Disney.

1:08 So this is perfect for setting up my laptop.

1:10 Also sometimes i’ll get food from the Mara and bring it back here.

1:13 Or eat it out on the balcony to watch the animals.

1:16 Over here you have your lights.

1:21 And then also what's really cool is there's these lights.

1:24 So if you know, I'm staying up later than my friend,

1:27 I can have this light and she can go to sleep.

1:29 Then I can read.

1:32 There's also a hey Disney.

1:34 You can get park hours, request stuff for your room,

1:37 or you can get a bedtime story.

1:40 And then there's plenty of storage in this room.

1:42 So there's room underneath the bed where you can put your luggage.

1:46 You can even unpack and put stuff in the drawers.

1:49 And then over here, the essentials.

1:52 So coffee in the morning.

1:55 There's also, all sorts of coffee, teas, creamer,

2:00 some to-go cups if you want to take something to go,

2:03 and then also a beverage cooler so you can stick your zebra domes right in here.

2:09 And then in here we've got the closet.

2:12 I love that there's a steamer I am not good at ironing.

2:15 So this is great for getting wrinkles out.

2:18 You can, leave your steamer at home.

2:20 There's also a safe in here.

2:22 More closet space.

2:24 And then in here, there is plenty of space to hang your clothes.

2:29 Extra pillow and blanket up here.

2:32 You can also put your luggage in here to get it away.

2:36 And then in here we have robe and slippers.

2:39 Great for sitting out on the balcony.

2:41 And then more hangers.

2:43 Over here in the bathroom I love this full

2:45 length mirror for getting ready in the morning.

2:47 And then come in here, Here we have two sinks,

2:50 which is great if you have multiple people.

2:55 There's a hairdryer down here and then you've got shower cap,

2:59 vanity kit and mouthwash.

3:02 This is really cool,

3:03 where you can have separate spaces to take a shower and the toilets in here,

3:07 and also have body wash conditioner and shampoo.

3:11 So you can leave all of that at home.

3:12 We're going to check out a two bedroom suite with club level access.

3:16 Let's go take a look.

3:18 So we're actually going to start in the secondary bedroom of this room.

3:21 And it's straight ahead here.

3:22 And as you can see from the hallway it has two queen beds.

3:26 Now you might be wondering where am I going to put my suitcase.

3:28 There's plenty of room underneath where you can put those suitcases and one

3:31 of my first things I do when I get to the room is unpack my bag.

3:35 So there's lots of drawers here where I

3:36 could fit all my clothes and my accessories.

3:38 So there's ample storage right here.

3:41 When you walk in, there's also a television,

3:43 so we can see our wonderful last name

3:44 on the screen when we walk in that beautiful music.

3:47 And then as you look out the window, this is a savanna view room.

3:50 So even if I look out the window now,

3:52 I can see some of the animals walking around.

3:54 And there's a beautiful veranda here with some seating and a table,

3:57 which would be great for drinking my coffee

3:59 in the morning and looking at giraffes.

4:01 These beds look super plush, and if you're thinking,

4:03 how am I going to charge all my gadgets?

4:05 There's lots of charging right here on the nightstand.

4:07 Both full outlets and USB ports.

4:09 There's our remote.

4:10 You can control the wall sconces with these light switches.

4:13 And if someone in the next bed is sleeping and you want to read a book,

4:16 there's some lighting right here on the headboard

4:17 so you can still be reading, which is fantastic.

4:21 Lots more storage to see.

4:22 So we're gonna come around here down the hallway.

4:26 This third door is going to have our safe,

4:28 as well as our extra pillow and blanket.

4:31 And then if I open up these doors, you'll see there's lots of hangers.

4:35 If you have some nice shirts, if you're going to Jiko later,

4:37 you can put your shoes down at the bottom.

4:39 Other accessories up top.

4:40 There's some robes and slippers here,

4:42 so you can really be living the life of luxury in this room,

4:45 which is a really incredible.

4:46 And now just behind me is going to be the bathroom for this room.

4:50 As you can see there two sinks.

4:51 There's plenty of space for everyone to be getting ready in the morning,

4:54 brushing their teeth.

4:55 Underneath there's an incredible amount of storage.

4:57 So we have some towels here.

4:59 In this other cabinet, we have our hairdryer and some tissues.

5:02 So you don't need bring your hairdryer from home.

5:03 They provide it for you, which is fantastic.

5:06 Up on the countertop here,

5:07 you have lots of room for straighteners and toothbrushes and vanity kits.

5:11 They provide you with some mouthwash and soap.

5:14 Lotion.

5:14 Everything you need to get ready.

5:16 And then just around here is the shower and toilet room.

5:19 You can see there's a rainfall style shower-head with a separate handheld.

5:22 And also on the wall is your shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

5:26 Back to the front door in the hall there is

5:28 a half bath that has a sink and a toilet.

5:30 Lots of storage there as well, which is great.

5:32 In the hallway here we have a lot more storage,

5:34 some more room to put your things,

5:36 additional pillows and blankets because this room can sleep up to eight people.

5:39 An additional iron.

5:40 Lots of shelving for your accessories.

5:42 In this side of the closet, there's more hangers,

5:44 more robes and slippers so everyone can be nice and comfy.

5:47 And their robe and slippers.

5:49 Well, what's really striking is this kind of living room and dining area.

5:53 So there's a huge table here.

5:56 Great chandelier, really comfortable looking chairs.

5:59 And around the corner is going to be our refrigerator and kitchenette.

6:03 So I open this up.

6:05 Plenty of room for any, leftovers you have from dinner.

6:09 You got a microwave Keurig coffee machine, some nice wine glasses,

6:12 your ice bucket to keep all your drinks nice and cool.

6:15 A sink here, and then again, tons of storage.

6:18 Your mugs are in here.

6:19 Additional cups and coffee, your K-Cup pods, your drink stirrers, tea down here.

6:24 You got some paper towels and your sponge and, washcloth.

6:28 So that's fantastic.

6:29 Additional hand soap and a sink here to keep everything nice and tidy.

6:33 Coming into the main living space.

6:35 This is really, really great.

6:37 Some nice soft seating, some, and chairs and tables here.

6:41 And then you cannot beat this view.

6:43 So as I'm looking out the window here again, I see more animals.

6:47 There's some really comfortable seating out here.

6:49 And we're going to go out on the balcony after we look at the primary bedroom.

6:52 So let's go around this way.

6:55 So as we're walking into the primary here I

6:57 mean this is next level a huge king bed, plenty of space for everyone.

7:02 Again, there's a luggage rack and I would be unpacking my bags.

7:06 So look at all this storage here.

7:08 Tons of drawers there.

7:09 Nice and deep.

7:11 Plenty of room for anything that you've brought with you for your vacation.

7:15 Around the side here there's again.

7:17 And tables with that USB charging and full outlet chargers.

7:20 There's a nice comfy looking chair and ottoman here for us as well.

7:24 Coming into this hallway we have some sliding doors here.

7:28 And again there's another iron.

7:30 There's a safe to keep all our valuables stowed away on this side.

7:34 I'm sure you can guess there's going to be more robes and slippers.

7:36 So everyone who's staying in this room can wear a robe and slippers.

7:38 That'd be a fun family photo.

7:42 Behind me is a little vanity area, and then we walk into the primary bathroom.

7:46 So this bathroom is amazing again, just like we saw in the other one.

7:50 There's going to be.

7:51 And I have a credible amount of storage underneath the sinks here.

7:53 Again, another hair dryer for you.

7:56 On this side you have additional towels.

7:59 And again, just like the other bathroom,

8:00 there's all the toiletries that you'll need, including mouthwash,

8:03 bath soap, hand lotion and all of that good amount of towels in the room.

8:08 This huge soaking tub.

8:09 I can't think of a better place to end my day after a long day in the parks.

8:13 Rest my feet, have a little bubble bath here,

8:16 and then this incredibly huge shower.

8:19 You cannot beat this.

8:20 Just like the other bathroom.

8:22 It has that rainfall style shower head and the other handheld.

8:25 Your shampoo, conditioner, and body wash is all on the wall,

8:28 but that seat and that amount of space is amazing.

8:31 So this is the shower.

8:33 This is a great place.

8:34 Coming back out of the bathroom here,

8:36 we just have our toilet and we're going to go out

8:39 onto the balcony now to take a look at the savanna view.

8:42 So here we are out on the balcony of this two bedroom suite.

8:46 And I mean, just look at it.

8:48 I'm almost speechless.

8:49 This is what makes staying at Animal King Lodge so special.

8:53 So I can picture my family here sitting in the morning

8:55 having our coffee or having a late night snack.

8:58 Those extra zebra donuts we brought back from the Mara

9:00 and snacking on them as we watched the animals here.

9:02 Amazing.

9:04 What's really special about this room is that you have club level access.

9:06 So in just a moment, we're going to go take a look at the club level lounge,

9:09 which is kind of an extension of your room here at the Lodge.

9:12 So again, amazing room with amazing amenities.

9:17 So like I mentioned, down in our two bedroom suite,

9:19 that room had club level access and now

9:21 we're on the sixth floor at the Kilimanjaro Club.

9:22 So check in at the desk here and we'll make our way into the club here.

9:27 So this is a great place to relax.

9:29 There are different offerings throughout the day.

9:31 The cultural representative cast members do different activities.

9:34 And then of course the food.

9:36 So we're up here in the early afternoon just after lunch.

9:39 And the first station we have here is like a build your own safari snack area.

9:42 So they have goldfish crackers, chocolate covered raisins, cookies.

9:46 And then there's a really nice spread of savory offerings.

9:49 So I kind of feel like it's like Snack Plus, but there's some hummus,

9:52 some veggies, little PBJ sandwiches, some chips, and even a soup.

9:58 Down at the end.

9:59 We have most of our drinks,

10:00 so we have an espresso machine here, which is really, really nice.

10:04 Sparkling and filtered water, unsweetened tea,

10:07 spa water, lemonade, more coffee as well.

10:11 Our soft drinks are in the fridge and if you want beer or wine,

10:14 you can make that request as well.

10:15 Bonus tip there are Mickey ice cream bars at dessert,

10:18 but if you want them anytime throughout the day, you can request one.

10:22 And now for a special treat, we're going to show you the Royal Asante Suite.

11:04 or another family in this other room to watch their own show.

12:06 The biggest shower I've ever seen in my entire life.

12:10 And this amazing soaking tub.

12:12 I mean, what better place to take a load off after a park day than in this tub?

12:17 I could, I mean, I could have a bubble bath or two in that tub.

12:25 I mean, again, additional storage.

12:41 This balcony is so wide and you have this gorgeous view of the savannah here.

12:48 And like you said, this would be a great resort for a resort only stay.

12:53 There's so much to do and see here.

12:55 And if I was in this room, I don't think I would ever leave.

12:59 Down this hallway there is a second bedroom that has two queen beds.

13:21 I would never get tired of this, you know for sure.

13:23 Oh, and there's some trash right out the window.

13:27 So I don't know about you,

13:28 but seeing those incredible rooms really had me working up an appetite.

13:31 We're back in the lobby on the third floor,

13:33 but all of the dining options are down on the first floor.

13:35 These are some of my favorite restaurants at Disney World.

13:37 There's a quick service eatery and two table service restaurants here.

13:41 So the first stop on our dining tour here at Animal

13:43 Kingdom Lodge is going to be the quick service restaurant.

13:45 The Mara.

13:45 You can mobile order here for breakfast,

13:47 lunch or dinner or even a late night snack.

13:48 So we're going to go inside and check out the food options.

13:50 Here we are inside, there are some grab and go items.

13:53 Pastries.

13:54 This is where I go to get coffee so I

13:56 can sit out on my balcony and watch the animals.

13:59 And then I love the flatbreads here.

14:01 There's a lot of other choices too.

14:02 There are different sandwiches.

14:03 I really enjoyed the harissa spiced beef bowl here,

14:06 and as we come around the other side,

14:08 you'll see there's the frozen treats as well

14:09 so we can grab our Mickey bars here.

14:11 Our Mickey ice cream sandwiches.

14:13 There's different salads available in the cooler case here.

14:17 Snacks for the kids.

14:18 We got fruit and sandwiches.

14:20 Cupcakes.

14:20 But my favorite things get here are absolutely 100% the zebra domes.

14:24 We tried the gluten free version earlier,

14:25 and I think I prefer them to the regular ones, so that's really, really great.

14:29 All kinds of drinks available water, juice, soda, some adult beverages.

14:33 And do not forget to get your resort a little mug when you check out.

14:36 Here we are at Boma.

14:37 We have some nice drum ambiance.

14:39 This is a buffet that's available for breakfast and dinner.

14:42 Boma is one of my favorite breakfast at Disney World.

14:45 There are familiar favorites like pancakes and waffles

14:48 and also African specialties like boba tea.

14:51 Now over here, this station is where you would find me.

14:53 This is the carving station.

14:54 They're cutting meat fresh for you.

14:55 We have pineapple, garam masala carved ham.

14:58 We have carved turkey breast.

14:59 And also at breakfast there's steal-cut oatmeal and turkey bobotie.

15:02 Over here we have sausages, a whole bunch of types of potatoes,

15:06 pancakes, and of course, Mickey waffles.

15:08 No, breakfast is complete without those.

15:10 And then a few different types of eggs, scrambled eggs and some omelets.

15:13 Now, just past the eggs, we get into some of the lighter fare so

15:16 you can see there is an ancient grains berry salad,

15:18 a pineapple chutney, a grapefruit salad,

15:20 and some fresh cut fruit and grapes down here.

15:23 There's also some parfaits with granola and strawberries and some charcuterie,

15:26 some sliced meats and cheeses, and some deviled eggs.

15:30 And there's a really nice spread of pastries.

15:32 And then my favorite, you cannot come here without trying the bread pudding.

15:35 So just above Boma is the Victoria Falls Lounge.

15:38 This is a great place to end the night and unwind with a drink or a snack,

15:41 or take in the big game on the TV.

15:43 I love this place for a quick dinner as an alternative to the other places.

15:47 The burger is really good.

15:48 There's also two beers that's exclusively brewed for Disney World,

15:51 and this is one of the few places you can find it.

15:54 And there's another spot right down by Jika called Cape Town Lounge.

15:57 It's a great place.

15:58 My friends when we are here, we love to stop there for a pre-dinner drink.

16:02 Here we are at Jiko.

16:03 We just had dinner here last night and it is absolutely incredible.

16:07 This is a signature dining experience.

16:09 that’s available for dinner.

16:10 It's a blend of Mediterranean, Indian and African flavors.

16:14 And just look at the ambiance.

16:15 We have birds in the ceiling.

16:16 There's the open kitchen with the Wood fired grill.

16:19 We could see the chefs making our meal as it is being prepared.

16:22 And it was really, really amazing.

16:23 So because this is a signature dining restaurant,

16:26 it's highly recommended that you make reservations at least 60 days in advance.

16:29 And you can do that right here in the app.

16:34 When you get here, make a reservation right here or view the menu.

16:37 We had the filet mignon last night, which was amazing.

16:39 Every entree, really everything on the menu has a wine pairing.

16:43 Our server last night told us that Jiko has the largest

16:46 selection of South African wines outside of South Africa, which is amazing.

16:49 I mean, who needs to trip around the world?

16:52 There's also, an allergy friendly menu.

16:55 And after your meal you get to my favorite part, which is dessert.

16:58 So I had this wonderful coconut panna cotta last night and a cup of coffee,

17:02 but they have a lot of ports and liqueurs

17:04 and dessert wines to choose from as well.

17:08 Here we are at the Arusha Overlook.

17:10 This is one of multiple overlooks throughout the resort,

17:12 and the savanna's are really what sets apart this resort from all the others.

17:16 It really is a highlight.

17:18 And there's also cultural representatives down on this trail that will meet

17:21 who will give us all kinds of information about the animals, the savanna.

17:24 There's also information here.

17:25 So as I'm looking down on the water, there's a pinked backed pelican.

17:28 I can learn all about it here and read some fun facts as well.

17:31 One of the things I love about this resort is just how much there are to do.

17:35 You could spend the whole day here without even going to the parks.

17:38 Yeah, I come here with my family and done a resort only stay.

17:40 So we were checking out all the animals.

17:42 We were spending a lot of time at the pool.

17:44 We didn't have to go too far because there was

17:46 so much to see and do here that we really felt.

17:48 We want to invest time right here at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

17:51 So we can get a little bit closer now,

17:52 and we can see right from this overlook there's some water,

17:55 but there's a pelican.

17:56 And then all the way in the way back, there's a giraffe over there as well.

18:00 And at night you can even borrow night vision goggles

18:02 from the cast members and get a good look at the animals.

18:05 If you're wanting to get even closer to the animals,

18:07 there's an enchanting extra call the Starlight Safari Tour.

18:10 When you book that, you'll be in a vehicle that will take you out onto

18:13 the savanna at night with night vision goggles

18:15 to take a look at all the amazing animal.

18:17 This is for guests ages eight and up,

18:19 and you can book in advance on the my Disney Experience app.

18:21 And then one thing I wanted to point

18:22 out while we're back here is there's another overlook.

18:25 But also this is where the campfire happens

18:27 and you can roast marshmallows and make s'mores.

18:30 Back here near the pool, there's another overlook where you can see animals.

18:33 There are often cast members there where you can learn

18:36 more about the animals and their behavior throughout the day.

18:38 There's something called String of Memories,

18:40 where you can learn from the cast members about animals in Africa,

18:43 and you get different beads and you can do it

18:47 all in one day or throughout your stay and collect them.

18:51 And how cool is this?

18:52 You can see so many animals really close.

18:54 I love this because it's, a very intimate space to see them.

18:58 You have a giraffe, some antelope, ankole cattle back there,

19:02 and there's even another place where you can see more animals.

19:05 I mean, look at these flamingos right at the resort.

19:08 One of the best amenities at the Disney Resort Hotel is the pool.

19:12 And this is no exception.

19:14 Take a look at this amazing pool.

19:16 There are towels behind me.

19:17 There's this zero entry part of the pool.

19:19 And right here there are life jackets and different sizes for kids.

19:23 So over here we have the water slide.

19:25 And also there's some hot tubs over here.

19:26 The name of the game at the pool is fun activities and entertainment.

19:30 And actually back there, by the hot tub.

19:33 There's also movies on select nights,

19:34 so be sure to check the activity schedule around the pool lobby.

19:38 Or you can also find on the website.

19:40 Don't forget on your resort check out day.

19:42 You can still enjoy all the amazing amenities.

19:44 Just because you're checking out doesn't mean the fun has to end.

19:46 And right by the arcade,

19:47 there's a bathroom that has showers and lockers which you can use.

19:51 So we're here at the Uzima Springs Pool Bar.

19:53 There's an extensive menu of cocktails, wines,

19:56 and some of the exclusive beers for Walt Disney World.

19:59 Pumbaa’s fun and games arcade.

20:00 They have an arcade tournament every day at 4:00 here.

20:03 There's lots of fun things to do, including air hockey, pinball machines,

20:06 photo booths and it's open from 8:00 in the morning until 11 at night.

20:10 And we're going to walk through these doors

20:11 and check out Simba’s cubhouse and the laundry room.

20:14 So now that we've come inside,

20:15 the first stop over here on my right is going to be the guest laundry room.

20:18 I know that I love to go home with a suitcase full of clean clothes.

20:21 That's a great amenity for our resort guests.

20:23 And then over here we have Simba's Cubhouse.

20:25 This is a great place for families to go because they have coloring sheets,

20:28 movies on for the kids,

20:30 and they have fun crafts like necklace making infused beads.

20:33 If you're training for a run Disney race,

20:34 you might want to head over to the fitness center.

20:36 It's behind the pool slide and it's open 24 hours.

20:40 There is a range of different exercise machines,

20:43 so StairMaster, lots of treadmills, bikes, elliptical machines.

20:48 There's also weight machines and free weights.

20:51 And then over on the back you can find locker room and showers.

20:55 Also in the pool area there's a playground.

20:57 It's nicely shaded, has water fountains,

20:58 and it's a great place like for my nieces and nephews to get their wiggles out.

21:04 So we're walking now into the Zawadi Marketplace.

21:07 This is the merchandise store here in Animal Kingdom Lodge.

21:10 So if we look right over here,

21:11 they have sunscreen and bathing suits for that day by the pool.

21:15 There are all sorts of snacks, even these really cute Disney snacks.

21:18 I mean, how cute are these Chip-n-Dale?

21:19 And look at this trail mix.

21:21 Usually I just eat the M&M's out of it, but it's still good.

21:24 There are adult beverages, water to stay hydrated, and ice cream.

21:30 My favorite, the Mickey ice cream bar.

21:32 Oh, I'll take two of those.

21:33 And here's where you can pick up anything you've left up home.

21:36 So you've got some medicine, Band-Aids, toothpaste.

21:39 Oh, some Q-tips.

21:40 That's really good.

21:41 Deodorant.

21:42 Diapers for the kids, all kinds of stuff.
