Watching whatever my TV tells me to because I don't care anymore

Watching whatever my TV tells me to because I don't care anymore

Drew Gooden

0:00 Hey guy, welcome back to Roku City where the streets

0:02 are paved with blood and all crime is legal.

0:04 You know, when you're trying to navigate

0:06 your rapidly deteriorating smart TV and some

0:09 sponsored bullshit comes up telling you to watch

0:11 like Dhar Mann Christmas and you're like, who would even click on this?

0:14 I would.

0:16 I would click on this.

0:18 It's been a long year and frankly I'm tired of thinking,

0:20 it hurts my head and I don't wanna do it anymore, so I'm going on autopilot.

0:24 Whatever my stupid TV tells me to watch,

0:27 I'm going to, no searching, no scrolling, whatever pops up, I'm hitting play.

0:32 Hey, why didn't your brother get any?

0:34 First of all, he's not my brother.

0:37 Oh no, he's drunk.

0:40 Now I have to admit, the main reason I'm making this video is out of spite.

0:44 I had this fun little idea for a December

0:47 video where I was gonna search Christmas on every

0:49 streaming service and keep scrolling and scrolling and scrolling

0:52 till I got all the way to the bottom,

0:53 where in my head I would find some random ass terrible movie

0:57 that we could all make fun of and have ourselves a merry little Christmas.

1:00 Well, I was wrong because that's not how any of these fucking apps work anymore.

1:05 If you search something on a streaming service,

1:07 you're lucky if you get more than one page of results.

1:10 So how am I supposed to find the crap?

1:13 I know there's crap in here.

1:15 Show it to me.

1:16 There's like 14,000 titles on Prime Video and you're

1:20 telling me only 16 of them are Christmas movies?

1:23 I don't believe you.

1:24 Hulu has a few dozen, but most of these are only available if

1:27 you have Hulu with Paramount Plus with Showtime,

1:30 which in spite of its impeccable branding, I don't, on Netflix,

1:34 it seems like there's more results until you realize about

1:37 half of these are just hour long videos of a fire, Wednesday Fireplace.

1:42 What about the rest of the week?

1:43 I can see that there's way more stuff in here,

1:46 but none of it comes up when I search.

1:48 Why can't I look for it myself?

1:50 Why do I have to click on a movie first if I want to see more that are similar?

1:55 I thought maybe my phone would work better,

1:56 but on there, Netflix doesn't even try, Christmas movie.

2:00 What's a Christmas movie?

2:01 Oh, White Chicks, Groundhog Day, Benjamin Button.

2:05 What about White Chicks, Groundhog Day, Benjamin Button?

2:09 Are you sure you don't wanna watch Benjamin Button?

2:11 I don't want your curated list.

2:13 I want a search feature that's so all

2:15 encompassing and unalgorithmic that it's showing me every

2:19 episode of House Hunters that took place in a city with the word Santa in it.

2:23 But even this is only gonna exist until HBO

2:26 gets absorbed by one of the other two companies.

2:29 If you wanna watch Christmas movies on Prime Video,

2:31 you have to go to their holiday collection where you'll

2:33 be shown a bunch of categories that frankly don't mean anything.

2:37 What's the difference between holiday cheer and festive inspiration?

2:41 Those are two different things.

2:43 What does home for the holidays mean?

2:45 Are these romantic Christmas movies?

2:47 I thought that's what this one was.

2:49 Are they movies about spending time with your family?

2:52 They already have a category for that, but here's my favorite thing.

2:55 There's actually a movie in here called Home for the Holidays,

3:00 but it's not in home for the holidays.

3:04 It's in festive inspiration.

3:06 Home for the holidays is for Sister Swap 1 and 2.

3:11 Who made this?

3:11 And don't get me started on it's giving holiday escape.

3:15 This category is just any movie.

3:18 Need an escape from Christmas movies?

3:21 No.

3:22 Otherwise I wouldn't have clicked on the Christmas movie button.

3:26 So anyway, that's why I decided to just

3:27 give up and watch whatever they want me to.

3:29 You know why?

3:30 Because it doesn't matter.

3:31 They're just gonna funnel you towards the same

3:33 three things anyway, so why even bother?

3:35 You're not supposed to think when you look at your phone.

3:38 You're not supposed to use your brain when you turn on the TV.

3:41 Your job is to sit there and stare at whatever we put in front of you.

3:45 So fine Netflix, you win.

3:48 What do you want me to watch?

3:50 Oh man.

3:51 All right, I'll talk about Stranger Things.

3:53 I know I'm uploading this video before the final episode comes out,

3:56 but I have a lot of opinion about the first 98% of this show,

3:59 so I'm gonna talk about it anyway.

4:01 Like most people, I loved season one of Stranger Things.

4:04 The story was fun and original.

4:07 It was beautifully directed.

4:08 The music was fantastic.

4:10 They did such a good job nailing the atmosphere

4:13 that it made a lot of people, myself included,

4:16 nostalgic for a time period they weren't even alive

4:19 for, and if the show ended after one nearly perfect season like

4:23 they originally planned to, I think it would've gone down

4:25 as one of the greatest short-lived achievements in television history, right?

4:28 If there was shows like Chernobyl or Fleabag.

4:31 But I don't blame Netflix for wanting to keep the gravy train rolling,

4:34 nor do I think everything that came after it was a total waste of time.

4:37 I thought season two was pretty good.

4:39 Season three a little bit more so.

4:41 How many children are you friends with?

4:43 And season four was legitimately great.

4:45 I don't think it needed to be 75 hours long,

4:48 but it's peaks were some of the best of the entire show,

4:51 but I think you can only ask for so much patience out of your audience.

4:56 It's been almost 10 years since the first season came out.

5:00 At this point, I'm not that excited to watch a bunch of 27 year

5:05 olds pretending to be teenagers stick their arms

5:07 out and yell until their nose bleeds.

5:09 The returns are starting to diminish.

5:11 I thought about this a lot and I think I've come up with the perfect comparison.

5:15 Stranger Things 5 is the same as Kingdom Hearts 3.

5:21 Hear me out.

5:22 The first Kingdom Hearts game is about

5:23 a young boy who gets separated from his friends

5:26 and family and has to fight through

5:27 darkness on his journey to reconnect with them.

5:29 It's simple, yet effective.

5:31 It's a little goofy, but it's also Donald Duck.

5:33 By the time Kingdom Hearts 3 came out 17 years later,

5:38 I found myself skipping every cut scene because I

5:41 didn't know what the fuck everyone was talking about anyway.

5:43 It's not the sum of our parts, it's the sum of our hearts.

5:48 Yeah.

5:48 Similarly, Stranger Things 1 was a story about a young boy who was taken

5:52 from his friends and family and their fight

5:54 through darkness on a journey to reconnect with him.

5:56 It's simple, yet effective.

5:58 It's a little goofy, but it's also Millie Bobby Brown.

6:00 In Stranger Things 5,

6:02 we learned that actually the upside down isn't the evil place.

6:06 It's a wormhole, a bridge between the real world and the truly evil place,

6:09 and the bridge has been deteriorating because Will had too many dreams about it.

6:12 So now the gang, which is like 30 people at this point,

6:15 has to breach the abyss so they can

6:17 defeat Vecna by attacking his core in Dimension X.

6:20 And Vecna's been posing as Mr.

6:21 What's It to lure a bunch of kids into his mind palace.

6:23 What's It?

6:24 His real name is Henry.

6:25 AKA Vecna.

6:27 AKA one.

6:28 That's too many names.

6:29 [Narrator] Also Eleven's sister is back.

6:31 Definitely not because we wanted to justify

6:33 that random throwaway episode we did in season two,

6:35 but because it's important to the story,

6:37 what this show needs is more characters.

6:40 There aren't enough characters.

6:42 I think what's taken me out of the show

6:44 the most at this point is the apparent lack of stakes.

6:47 They always seem to be in danger.

6:50 They're always saying stuff like this.

6:52 We will die.

6:53 We will die.

6:54 We'll die.

6:55 Everyone will die.

6:57 But then nobody ever does.

6:58 Life or death situations are just temporary inconveniences.

7:02 The Demogorgons ruthlessly rip through every

7:05 background extra without breaking a sweat,

7:08 and yet when they face any of the main characters,

7:10 they're suddenly frozen in place like they all

7:13 emanate some invisible force field that makes them invincible.

7:16 Even when they inevitably kill off one

7:18 or two people in the final episode tonight,

7:20 it won't change the fact that they've missed

7:23 every opportunity to do this throughout the show.

7:26 Not only would this have made the danger actually feel real,

7:29 but I think it would've better served a lot of these characters.

7:32 Imagine if Steve died as a hero last season instead of the random new

7:36 guy they introduced just so they had someone to kill off in his place.

7:39 Imagine if Hopper actually sacrificed himself two seasons ago.

7:43 Then he could have had a meaningful emotional sendoff

7:47 instead of just getting dragged through to the finish line,

7:49 even though he's not adding anything to the show at this point.

7:52 What we're left with now is a show with a hugely bloated cast

7:56 that spends half of their screen time just explaining things to each other.

8:01 Way too much of this season is characters in a room answering questions

8:06 or coming up with a plan and they all finish each other's sentences.

8:10 Yeah, I got it.

8:11 It'll probably take days.

8:12 His powers are.

8:13 Try and keep the telemetry signal within—- Negative 60 and negative 70 DB.

8:16 Get them to Murray, smuggle them out of Hawkins.

8:18 All before anyone notices they're gone.

8:21 Dick.

8:21 What?

8:22 Robin somehow has to serve as both a ditzy comic relief,

8:26 but also the main deliverer of exposition, which feels kind of contradictory,

8:31 but I guess they have to put this much on her plate because she's one of only

8:34 a few of the young people on the cast who grew into being a good actor.

8:38 Maybe it's unfair to criticize any of the individual

8:41 actors when there's so many nothing performances.

8:45 So is it the acting, the directing,

8:47 the writing, or some combination of all three?

8:49 The writing is so bad this time around.

8:51 It's making me question my memory of the other four seasons.

8:55 Were there always this many Disney Channel ass

8:58 lines or like AAA video game writing tropes?

9:02 Dick.

9:03 What?

9:03 Sorry, did I say that out loud?

9:04 I thought I was talking in my head.

9:06 That was supposed to be an inside thought.

9:08 We're going in there?

9:10 We're going in there.

9:11 We're going to the scary monster place?

9:13 We're going to the scary monster place.

9:15 That's supposed to be English freak?

9:17 And why in this universe where evil and crazy

9:19 shit has been happening for like five years now,

9:22 do people still not believe anyone when they

9:25 say that something evil and crazy is happening?

9:29 Monsters aren't real Holly.

9:30 Monsters are real, but not the one you're talking about.

9:33 Monsters and alternate dimensions.

9:35 Who is stupid enough to believe that?

9:37 You are going through withdrawal?

9:38 Robin, that doesn't make any sense.

9:40 You must be high on drugs.

9:41 Brother, what city have you been living in?

9:43 Because it sure doesn't sound like Hawkins, Indiana.

9:45 Of course, this season is not all bad.

9:47 In fact, some of it's still really solid.

9:49 At least half of the cast is still giving really great performances.

9:53 I actually teared up when Dustin pleaded for Steve not

9:56 to put himself in danger because he didn't wanna lose another one

9:59 of his friends and Vecna both in human and Demogorgon form

10:03 is a very intimidating villain except when you can see his legs,

10:08 his legs look dumb as hell.

10:09 You know, maybe in that way he's

10:11 the perfect representation of what Stranger Things has become.

10:14 The top half is the aesthetic that you see on the surface,

10:17 a show that maintains the appearance of something competent,

10:20 but he's perched on top of an ever wavering foundation.

10:23 Those damn legs, they're too fragile and we just called it quits in season four.

10:27 They would've held on until their final moments, but we got greedy.

10:31 Now they're trembling under the weight of a world

10:33 we made too big for its own good.

10:35 Or maybe they'll stick the landing tonight and I'll be wrong.

10:37 I hope so.

10:38 I don't want this show to fail.

10:39 I don't want it to become the next Game of Thrones.

10:41 It deserves a good ending.

10:42 My official prediction for the finale, thanks for asking.

10:45 I think everybody dies except for Derrick and one

10:49 demo dog and together they have to repopulate the earth.

10:52 All right, what do I have to watch today?

10:58 (eerie music) What the hell is this?

11:58 (bright music) Let's cleanse our palette

12:03 with some good old fashioned Christmas slop.

12:05 Hot Chocolate Holiday is a story that could only exist in Christmas Town,

12:09 which is what I like to call the unspecified

12:12 fictional city where these kinds of movies take place.

12:14 You know where it doesn't quite look like real life.

12:17 It's almost like they're filming inside a snow globe.

12:19 That's where this movie is set.

12:20 It's your classic Romeo and Juliet story about two people falling in love

12:25 in spite of the fact that they own rival hot chocolate cafes.

12:29 That's right.

12:30 This town has not one but two cafes that specialize

12:34 in hot chocolate and they are right next to each other.

12:38 So you're telling me that more people buy your hot chocolate than your coffee?

12:42 Mm, I love this stuff.

12:44 Colette's cafe is named Colette's Cafe because

12:46 it's a cafe and her name is Colette.

12:48 Marcus's cafe sells sweet pastries and it's called Sweet Pastries.

12:53 Now, the entire plot of this movie is that Colette thinks

12:57 Marcus stole her hot chocolate recipe and she's freaking out about it.

13:03 She's making her employees do undercover recons.

13:06 She's obsessively running taste tests.

13:11 Wait, why didn't she just drink it?

13:13 She didn't need to stick her finger in there.

13:16 I love this stuff.

13:16 This whole thing is crazy to me because like I

13:18 haven't had a ton of hot chocolate in my life,

13:21 but aren't they all exactly the same?

13:23 How many different ways are there to make hot chocolate?

13:27 Surely not enough that you could accuse someone of stealing yours.

13:30 It's chocolate and it's hot.

13:32 Both the recipe and the temperature at which it's served are in the name,

13:37 but they fight about this, the whole movie.

13:40 That's ridiculous.

13:41 This whole thing is ridiculous.

13:42 It's a pretty insane choice for a movie plot,

13:44 but I'm mostly just upset because this was setting

13:47 up for a perfect twist ending that they completely ignored.

13:50 See, Colette's recipe has been passed down from her grandmother

13:53 and that's why she's so particular about it.

13:55 He insists he didn't steal it from her, that it's his own proprietary recipe.

13:59 So anyway, they bicker back and forth for a while.

14:01 Things escalate romantically.

14:03 They hook up.

14:04 Now they're laying in bed together, out of breath, smiling.

14:07 They just had sex and that's when he's like, all right.

14:10 I'll tell you the reason I'm so certain that I

14:13 didn't steal your recipe is that mine is actually pretty old.

14:17 See, I got it from my grandmother.

14:19 Mine is from my grandmother.

14:23 We're cousins?

14:24 Well, we just raw dogged.

14:25 But no, there's no incest, just boring, old, regular love.

14:30 Actually, nothing else really happens in this movie until

14:32 his cafe catches on fire and it definitely wasn't her.

14:37 She wasn't being vengeful and crazy because he stole her recipe,

14:40 that would make the movie interesting.

14:42 They actually never figure out what caused it.

14:44 They kind of just keep beating around the bush.

14:46 Do they have any idea what caused this?

14:48 They think it came from the kitchen.

14:49 Any ideas on the cause?

14:50 Might have been an oven.

14:51 They think it just started itself.

14:53 The more time we're closed, the less money we make.

14:56 That's so true.

14:56 Everybody in this movie's really smart.

14:58 This guy's a construction worker, which you can tell because of his hat,

15:01 and he's like, yeah, I don't know man.

15:04 You should just do it.

15:05 I'm booked for the next two months.

15:07 You could do a lot of the work yourself though.

15:09 I can't.

15:09 Yeah, you're just gonna need one of these hats.

15:10 And so he does.

15:11 They all work together because that's what Christmas is about.

15:15 I love this stuff.

15:15 Okay, great.

15:16 They cleared out all the debris, but the walls are still burnt.

15:20 He's gonna like paint over them.

15:21 Are they gonna do the landlord special at the hot chocolate cafe?

15:25 Before we even get an answer to that, Colette's

15:27 surprises Marcus by bashing a hole in the wall.

15:31 What are you doing?

15:32 Tearing down the wall.

15:33 Look, now we have one big cafe instead of two little ones.

15:36 If it's okay with you?

15:37 If it's okay with you?

15:38 A little late to be asking that question.

15:41 We're combining Colette's Cafe and Sweet Pastries.

15:44 Sweet Pastries here?

15:47 But Sweet Pastries' there.

15:49 Why?

15:52 Because it makes sense.

15:53 Well, hard to argue with that logic.

15:55 Sure, I guess they could have finished the other

15:57 side before turning her business into an active construction zone.

16:00 But where's the fun in that?

16:02 It's Christmas.

16:04 I think I'm falling in love with you.

16:06 Why is there a hole in the wall?

16:07 I love this stuff.

16:08 Best thing about watching that movie was that it updated

16:11 my Hulu algorithm and now they're recommending nothing but bangers.

16:14 I'm talking Fred Claus in Spanish.

16:17 (dramatic music) (character speaking in Spanish)- Christmas in Tennessee.

16:22 There's no way they're gonna make it in for the Christmas Eve service tonight.

16:25 Well, why don't you sing it?

16:26 I haven't sung in years.

16:27 I can't do that.

16:29 Mom, I need you to sing.

16:31 Grandma's gonna sing, grandma's gonna sing, grandma's gonna sing.

16:35 Of every childlike heart♪- But I didn't watch any of those 'cause I

16:41 saw something called Cowboy Christmas Romance

16:43 was the number three movie on Netflix, and I knew I had to see it for myself.

16:48 This movie's all about the completely unexpected pairing

16:51 of a city girl and a country boy.

16:53 That doesn't make any sense.

16:55 They're from entirely different walks of life.

16:58 What could they possibly have in common?

16:59 Hmm.

17:00 I don't know.

17:01 Ever heard of beer?

17:02 Beer?

17:03 Yeah.

17:04 I remembered you liked IPAs.

17:07 Same.

17:08 I remembered that I like IPAs too.

17:10 Oh boy.

17:11 The sparks are flying now.

17:12 Horses are a lot easier for me than people.

17:15 Why don't you grab a few of those apples?

17:16 Oh no, I don't.

17:17 Grab some of the apples and give her one and give her another one

17:20 and give her another one and give her another one and give her another one.

17:22 Oh, no, I don't.

17:23 Trust me.

17:24 The most noteworthy thing about this movie to me

17:25 is that the guy who plays her brother.

17:27 Bless you, little brother.

17:28 Might be the poutiest person I've ever seen.

17:31 Everything he says is through gridded teeth.

17:33 Grab a plate if you're hungry.

17:34 Yeah, coffee's over there.

17:35 Chop up those peppers.

17:37 He barely opens his mouth the whole movie.

17:39 It's awesome.

17:40 See you around.

17:41 Or not.

17:42 Everything okay?

17:43 Hey, come on buddy, cheer up.

17:44 It's Christmas, or sorry, Christmas Eve Eve Eve.

17:47 If you please.

17:48 It's time for the main event of Christmas Eve Eve Eve.

17:50 Our December 22nd tradition.

17:52 Dad's gonna sing a song.

17:54 (bright music)♪ This Christmas♪- Who's singing?

18:05 Why did they make it seem like he was gonna

18:06 sing and then not have him even pretend like he was?

18:10 No, don't stop.

18:11 Don't stop?

18:12 He never started.

18:13 I do like that two of the ornaments

18:15 on this tree are just full-sized cowboy boots.

18:18 You gotta admit, that's pretty cool.

18:19 And yeah, they fuck in a barn.

18:21 You can take the boy out of the country,

18:23 but you can't take the country out of the boy.

18:26 I love this stuff.

18:26 Say what you want about this movie, but they employed a lot of horse actors.

18:30 I just hope this inspires all the young

18:32 ponies out there trying to break into the industry.

18:34 Keep your head up.

18:36 For as long as white women have cable TV, you'll never be out of work.

18:40 All right, fine, I'll talk about something good

18:42 so I'm not just bitching the whole time.

18:44 Forewarning, I'm about to spoil most of the first season of Pluribus,

18:47 so maybe skip ahead if you haven't watched it yet.

18:49 With that out of the way, this show is awesome and it's been really

18:54 interesting to see some of the discourse around it.

18:57 The main criticism of Pluribus is that it can be agonizingly slow.

19:01 Not enough stuff happens.

19:02 It's a waste of time.

19:03 And while I mostly disagree with this, it certainly drags at some points.

19:07 I understand why it's happening.

19:09 I honestly think the biggest pitfall of Pluribus

19:12 is that it's gotten too popular too quickly.

19:14 In the middle of the very first season,

19:16 it was announced that this is already the most

19:19 streamed show in the history of Apple TV.

19:22 Now, this is partly because it's made by Vince Gilligan

19:24 who's responsible for two of the most acclaimed shows ever made,

19:28 and also because only like a hundred people are subscribed to Apple TV.

19:32 So probably not a huge bar to clear,

19:34 but having a show gets so much traction before it's first season is even halfway

19:38 done can lead to a lot of people basing their opinion on an incomplete picture.

19:43 The pilot of Pluribus is incredible.

19:46 It's like a beautifully directed modern episode of the Twilight Zone.

19:50 It's propulsive, it's suspenseful, especially if you go into it not knowing

19:55 anything about what the fuck is going on.

19:56 You can see the seeds of an apocalypse, but the specifics of it are unclear.

20:01 These people are getting infected by something,

20:04 but they're not turning into blood thirsty monsters,

20:06 sprinting around, looking for someone to kill.

20:08 They're a different kind of zombie.

20:10 They're human, but not entirely.

20:13 It's like their free will has dissipated and they're all moving

20:16 in unison towards a calling that seems out of their control.

20:19 Eventually, the entire human race, with just a handful of exceptions,

20:23 has transitioned into this hive mind.

20:25 They each share one consciousness.

20:27 They know everything everyone else thinks and feels.

20:30 They have no sense of or desire for individuality

20:34 because they now live to serve the same goal.

20:36 To figure out why these 13 people didn't transition with them

20:40 and use every resource on earth to finish what they started.

20:44 We will figure out what makes you different.

20:47 Figure it out, why?

20:48 So we can fix it so you can join us.

20:52 It's such a cool premise that had me hooked

20:55 instantly and then nothing really happens for a while.

20:59 Carol is pissed off all the time and it's kind of frustrating to watch.

21:02 She meets the other survivors, if you will,

21:04 and none of them share her desire to turn things back to the way they were,

21:08 which is kind of frustrating to watch.

21:09 For a couple episodes, I had this feeling of like, okay, I get it.

21:13 They all work together for the common good and Carol doesn't trust them,

21:16 but we're seeing the same types of scenes over and over again.

21:20 So where is this going?

21:22 Why am I investing in a show that doesn't seem to be moving towards something?

21:26 I think the reason it feels so slow early

21:28 on is because the writers are committed to organic character development,

21:33 and that's something that takes time.

21:35 As an audience, we often want instant

21:37 gratification from the people we're watching on screen.

21:39 Come on, do something.

21:41 I put my phone down for this, but this isn't how real people act and change,

21:46 especially in the face of life altering circumstances doesn't happen overnight.

21:51 Most of the criticism seems to get levied specifically towards Carol.

21:54 She's paranoid, she's distrusting.

21:57 She refuses to accept what's become of her life,

22:00 and sure it's not always the most fun to watch, but it always feels authentic.

22:04 How is she supposed to act in this situation?

22:07 In a single moment, the world as she knew it ceased to exist,

22:11 and now she's stuck in this apocalyptic dystopia completely alone.

22:16 These people or whatever they are, are responsible for this.

22:20 They're the reason her wife dropped dead in front

22:22 of her and then while still wrestling with the emotions

22:25 of this, she goes to meet up with the only

22:27 other people on earth in her same position,

22:29 and none of them even acknowledge that there's a problem to solve.

22:33 Not only have they already made peace with things,

22:35 but they think she's the crazy one.

22:37 Try imagining yourself in this situation.

22:39 You would be losing your mind, so why then do we expect this character

22:43 to act in a way that wouldn't make sense?

22:46 Just because it would be more interesting to watch?

22:49 What exactly do you want this show to be?

22:50 It takes literal months of grief and solitude for Carol to finally snap.

22:56 We see her go through multiple stages of denial, anger, acceptance,

23:00 until she finally gets so miserably lonely

23:03 that she realizes she'd rather spend time

23:05 with an alien that looks like a human than continue to suffer on her own.

23:10 I think it's a beautiful and realistic

23:12 depiction of someone's journey with grief,

23:15 and maybe the problem is that's just not the story some people came to see.

23:20 I think that's okay though.

23:21 I respect that Vince Gilligan,

23:23 knowing how many eyes are gonna be on his work at this point

23:26 is not just trying to play to the largest possible crowd.

23:29 They're convicted in the show that they want to make,

23:31 and they're not gonna force certain things to happen

23:33 because they're worried about some people getting bored.

23:36 If you'd ask me how I felt about Better Call Saul after the first season,

23:39 I would've said, it's pretty good.

23:41 I enjoyed it, but ask me how I feel after watching season six.

23:45 And I'll tell you, it's one of my favorite shows ever made.

23:48 I'm all in on Pluribus.

23:49 I expect a similar trajectory because Ray and Vince

23:53 and his crew are too talented to disappoint,

23:55 and even if the plot stalls from time to time,

23:58 at least you know the detour they're taking is the scenic route.

24:01 Anyway, that's my video about the four things I watched this month.

24:04 Sometimes on YouTube you spend two months writing an essay

24:07 about capitalism and other times you pull an idea out

24:10 of your ass and throw some shit together because the holidays

24:13 are stressful and this is the best you could come up with.

24:15 I'll be back stronger than ever in 2026,

24:18 unless of course I die tonight in a tragic fireworks accident.

24:23 Goodbye.

24:24 It's Pluriban time.
