Watch: Met Gala 2026 Fashion Is Art
CBS New York
0:44 You are
0:48 what have the past few months been like for you?
0:50 I my feet haven't touched the ground.
0:52 Well, literally because I'm in a seven inch stiletto everywhere.
0:55 But, uh, let me tell you, it's been magical and it keeps going.
0:59 It's, uh, it's it's just, um, I'm I'm really happy.
1:02 It's my Broadway debut and now I'm here.
1:05 This wonderful
1:06 Can you just finish this line for me?
1:07 So far, the Met Gala is
1:10 Don't dream it, be it.
1:12 That's what it is, baby.
1:13 I'm dreaming it and I'm being it tonight.
1:17 [music] Okay.
1:38 So, one of my favorite paintings in the Met is Pigon and Galatea where
1:42 the sculpture is coming to life because
1:45 the sculpture is his sculpture is kissing her.
1:48 And so that transformation from flesh from stone to flesh
1:53 as well as all of these amazing classical sculptures.
1:56 I always think what would it feel like to live inside that you will come over.
2:37 I knew that I was going into this Met Gala
2:39 with Tiffany and I knew that I was there are three
2:43 beautiful pieces that I was going to choose from and it
2:47 I don't know it made it a I don't know.
2:48 Yeah.
2:49 This is something that we've had for a while.
2:51 Kind of waiting for the right moment.
2:52 And I work with the right moment.
2:55 Yeah, I do think it's Yeah.
2:57 Um Yeah.
2:58 Yeah.
2:59 It's the right moment in the glittery black looking.
3:18 GG.
3:21 Gigi, who are you wearing tonight?
3:48 Ben, how are you keeping up with the Knicks during the gala?
3:53 How are you up to the Knicks?
3:55 What artist inspired you, man?
4:00 Will you be will you be taking your phone out to Gorgeous.
4:35 You are the art tonight.
4:37 I've had two wardrobes on the way here,
4:41 but they got fixed and everything's fine and I feel that.
4:46 Are you loving the fashion is art theme?
4:49 Of course.
4:49 Fashion is art.
4:50 If that's the whole point of Met Gala.
5:12 [music]
5:49 this amazing local.
5:50 It's inspired by and my voice is gone,
5:53 but it's inspired by Bosot's Pez Dinosaur.
5:57 And so it symbolizes many things.
5:58 It's iconic about you wearing your own crown.
6:01 It's all the color references in here and all this gold
6:05 cuz you're wearing your crown right underneath and my hair.
6:08 That was art to you.
6:09 I mean, how does it feel to come here tonight and represent as well?
6:13 It feels beautiful.
6:14 I feel like I wanted, especially when was fashionist art.
6:18 I wanted to respond to one of my favorite artists which is Bosad.
6:55 Hold it.
6:58 To the left.
6:59 To the left.
7:14 To be honest with you,
7:15 what I'm most excited about is exactly what's happening right now,
7:18 which is just this iconic walk in these stairs.
7:21 It's cool.
7:22 It's our first.
7:23 And what I'm most nervous about, to be honest with you,
7:26 super honest, really nothing because it's not like a competition night.
7:30 It's not like, you know,
7:33 how's your film going to do opening weekend and you never know.
7:36 It's like, no, it's fashion's biggest night.
7:38 We I'm wearing Tom Brown.
7:40 Lauren's wearing Tom Brown.
7:41 We have multiple fittings.
7:43 It's amazing.
7:44 And I'm in my pleated skirt.
7:45 You look great in the skirt.

12:04 It's a play on reality and art and thinking about what makes something real.
12:10 Right?
12:11 If you think about a bubble,
12:12 the two properties are being ephemeral and intangible.
12:14 And yet, I'm wearing it in a stationary
12:16 form while also playing with what it could be.
12:19 So, um, I'm thinking about art in motion.
12:21 I'm thinking about surrealism.
12:22 I'm thinking about sports and fashion and femininity and whimsy.
12:26 So, that's kind of where
12:27 you feel like Linda the Good Witch tonight.
12:29 I mean, you're
12:29 I feel like I'm going to I'm going to float float away.
12:32 I have my my ride.

55:48 It's all the color references in here and all this gold
55:51 cuz you're wearing your crown right underneath and my hair was art to you.
