26:55 just wear a T-shirt and jeans [Music] hello Mr Rashid Hi

27:16 how are you fine thank you how is your vacation it

27:19 was wonderful I'm so happy to hear that was your flight

27:22 okay no pretty bad actually it was so bumpy it was

27:26 very scary that's too bad dad did you have nice weather

27:30 after you arrived no the weather was terrible very rainy I

27:34 actually never saw the sun that's awful so what did you

27:39 do I stayed inside the hotel was the hotel room nice

27:43 the room was fine but it was right next to the cafe

27:47 and the music was very loud I didn't sleep much

27:50 I'll bet the food was great no it was too salty

27:54 for me and the waiters were very unfriendly did you go

27:57 shopping at all a little bit until someone stole my wallet after

28:02 that I stayed in the hotel and read a book was

28:05 the flight home okay actually they cancelled my flight I had

28:09 to stay for two more days that's terrible but Mr rashed

28:16 you said that your vacation was wonderful ah yes I did

28:20 and it was wonderful I met a very nice person

28:23 a woman actually her name is basar she's from Lan just like

28:27 me but she she lives here I'm seeing her tonight so

28:30 yes it was a wonderful vacation that's great Mr rasheid yes

28:41 Mr Rasheed welcome back come tell me about your vacation what

28:51 a terrible vacation Mr Rasheed had oh you know on my vacation

28:58 last year someone stole my car that was a horrible

29:03 vacation I went on a cruise and there was an outbreak

29:07 of illness I was in my room for a week

29:10 that was a really bad vacation I went to Disney World

29:14 and someone stole my map that's your worst vacation it took

29:20 10 minutes to get another map all right what was your favorite

29:25 vacation I spent 2 weeks in the car Ian last year

29:29 diving snorkeling and swimming with dolphins it was amazing I went

29:34 to China a few years ago it was incredible the people

29:39 there were so friendly and everyone wanted to practice their English

29:43 with me I went to the beach and ate shrimp that's

29:49 your best vacation I really like shrimp you need to go

29:55 on more exciting vacations I don't like exciting vacations in fact

30:00 I don't like to travel very much then why do you

30:04 work in a travel agency it's across the street

30:07 from my apartment so I don't have to travel far to go

30:10 to work [Music] so Mrs batty we should talk about your Safari

30:31 trip to Botswana I'm so excited my first time in Africa

30:36 you're going to be flying in to Johannesburg South Africa

30:40 would you like a window or an aisle a window I

30:44 want to see everything in Johannesburg you should take a taxi

30:48 or a limo to your hotel the next day you could

30:52 fly or you could take a train to Francis town

30:55 in Botswana is it an Express train yes I'll take the train

31:02 I'd like to see the country great then after you see

31:06 Francis town you can take a small plane or a bus

31:10 to the okavanga Delta how small is the airplane it's pretty

31:16 small I'll take the bus is it an express bus I

31:21 think so when you get to gumare you're going to be

31:25 taking a boat to your hotel a boat the hotel is

31:30 on an island when you get to the island a man

31:34 with a donkey can take your luggage to the hotel a donkey

31:40 there are no Cars on the island is it an Express

31:44 donkey I think it's probably a local donkey of course if

31:50 you don't want the Donkey you could take a small plane

31:53 it goes straight to the hotel I think I should take

31:57 the do donkeys never have mechanical problems right [Music] right is

32:08 quite normal so many people do it all over South Africa

32:12 hello Mrs baby why hello Paul where are you traveling

32:16 to now Mrs B is going on a safari in the okavanga

32:21 delta in bwana nice are you flying in are you taking

32:25 the train bus boat Dunkey route I'm going to be taking

32:29 the donkey I did that once myself you did was it

32:32 very exciting oh it was on the way there the plane

32:35 had mechanical problems that sounds scary we got in late

32:40 and I missed a train to Francis town so I decided

32:43 to take a bus but I got on the local bus

32:46 by mistake I don't like local buses then the bus had

32:51 an accident so I rented a car but it broke down

32:55 oh dear I got the gamari 2 days late then I got

33:00 seasick on the boat to the island oh my did you

33:04 have any problems with the donkey I got bumped from the donkey

33:08 you mean they overbooked the donkey no I mean the donkey

33:12 bumped me off the road to the hotel he he

33:19 but it was a very exciting trip you love Africa so

33:24 any questions Mrs batty just one how much is a ticket

33:28 to [Music] Paris hey Here Comes Bob yeah he wants

33:43 to sell me's digital camera hi how was dinner great what do

33:50 you have there the best digital camera money can buy Paul

33:57 oh that's the same camera you look why are you selling

34:03 it I have too Cheryl gave me another one for my birthday

34:09 it's not bad how much do you want $250 wow

34:15 that's a great that's more than I want to pay

34:18 but that's less than I can give you 200 for it no

34:23 I need at least 245 sorry all I have is is

34:28 210 there's an ATM right I could go as low as 230

34:35 but that's it sorry thanks anyway all right I'll sell

34:42 it to somebody else what are you doing you almost bought

34:49 that camera yesterday for $300 you don't know how to bargain

34:53 do you bargain of course I know how to bargain you

34:58 don't know how to bargain you could buy that camera

35:01 for $230 but now it's gone all right you can have it

35:08 for 225 220 224 221 223 $222 not a dollar more

35:17 I'm not selling this for less than $223 here here's $1

35:28 now you both get what you want it's a deal I'll

35:32 get some money from the ATM great you said I don't

35:35 know have thanks thanks for dinner my pleasure I saved

36:05 a lot of money on the camera should I leave the tip

36:12 no I'll put it on the credit card $5 that's not

36:20 enough sure it is the bill was $50 that's only 10%

36:28 so didn't you like the food it was good was there

36:33 a problem with the service no then you need to leave

36:37 at least 15% no I don't Paul we come here all

36:43 the time the waitress gives us great service because we usually

36:47 tip well I always leave 10% have a nice evening we're

36:53 not quite ready no problem look I'm paying tonight so I

37:01 get to decide how much to tip oh all right hey

37:10 isn't that Mr Evans over there where never mind it's someone

37:19 else shall we go mhm thank you very much you're welcome

37:56 are you a music fan uh depending on the music yeah

38:01 so what kinds of music do you like I like

38:03 classic rock I like to see what's new I like rock

38:07 and roll and Hip-Hop and things like that I like classical

38:12 and jazz when do you usually listen to music um I used

38:18 listen to music whenever I'm waking up in the morning

38:20 and getting ready and also whenever I'm getting ready to go out

38:23 in the evenings I always listen to music so how often

38:27 you listen to music um at least twice a day and where

38:36 are you when you listen to music Us in my office

38:39 or in the car do you go to concerts yes

38:43 sometimes and what concerts do you like to go to um

38:47 classical music and operas do you have a lot of CDs

38:53 or cassettes yes quite a lot could you tell me

38:56 a little bit about the types of music you have well uh

39:01 I like you know rock and roll music I like American

39:04 Music as a matter of fact I don't own very many CDs

39:08 but my husband owns lots of CDs so I listen

39:12 to his instead approximately how many CDs do you have um

39:16 a few hundred wow that's a lot how would you compare

39:22 yourself with your sister how are you alike and how are you

39:26 different um for example do you like the same kind

39:28 of music or the same kind of foods well we do look

39:32 alike but apart from that we're very different she likes um

39:37 the Arts and I'm more interested in sport well I would

39:41 say first of all that my sister is much better

39:44 with money than I am um she you know she can save

39:50 whereas I like to spend me and my brother are quite

39:56 different um um I'm much more talkative and and he's much

40:02 more shy but other than that I mean we we grew

40:05 up in the same house so we love the same food

40:07 and we listen to the same music pretty much and we

40:10 like the same movies we whenever I go back home I

40:12 always watch movies with them and stuff so in general which

40:16 do you think is better a small family or a large

40:19 family uh well speaking from personal experience I would prefer

40:24 to have a small family like I do I feel that parents

40:28 have more time to spend with their children um there's more

40:32 funds for each child um but at the same time I

40:36 can see how a large family could be fun having a lot

40:38 of brothers and sisters and you know large family occasions so

40:43 what are the disadvantages of a big family um it's

40:46 very hectic it's very noisy um it's like a train station

40:50 there's always people going in and out so you can never

40:53 have time alone and you know when I do want time

40:55 alone I'll have to go out out of the house to jog

40:58 do something so it's very very crowded noisy in and out

41:04 in your opinion what is healthy food I think like

41:07 a lot a lot of green things like salad and vegetables

41:13 and fruits are very healthy what what foods would you consider

41:17 unhealthy um those fast food potato chips um sodas so do

41:26 you try to eat healthy Foods I try and eat healthy

41:28 foods yes I don't always succeed but I try and eat

41:31 healthy foods what what's an ideal diet in your opinion

41:36 a lot of would say like potato vegetables chicken so for example

41:42 what might you recommend for a good breakfast good breakfast would

41:46 probably be um an egg with no butter little salt and pepper

41:53 and maybe a piece of white toast or wheat toast excuse

41:56 me so for example for dinner tonight what are you thinking

42:00 about for dinner tonight okay I may do chicken broccoli U

42:04 maybe stir frry which consist of a lot of vegetables like

42:09 broccoli carrot pepper Bean string beans those are the things

42:14 that I love to cook okay how about uh spicy foods are

42:18 spicy foods okay to eat uh yes I'm not a big

42:21 fan of spicy foods but uh I think they're okay to eat

42:25 how about sweet Foods sweet foods you can eat sweet Foods

42:30 if if you don't eat too much are you an exercise

42:34 fan yes I love to run I run in the morning

42:38 before work and I run on Saturdays and Sundays along

42:42 the river and through the park are you a fan

42:46 of exercise not really so Rita would you consider yourself a couch

42:54 potato no I'm not a couch potato absolutely not I I

42:59 just I hate to exercise so do you actually have a routine

43:06 that you follow every day yes we go out uh

1:27:54 what do you think I think I could do that it's

1:28:01 fantastic how interesting it's very blue yes it's gorgeous oh good here's

1:28:17 the sculpture it was made by a British sculptor it's it's called

1:28:25 City of Gold is it really gold no it's made of wood

1:28:32 it was painted gold what do you think it's cool Mr Evans

1:28:41 I think it would look good in your office I think I prefer

1:28:48 the painting I'm fascinated by it good and here's the photograph

1:29:04 it's called winter it was photographed in Paris there's nothing there it's

1:29:11 a photograph of snow in a park maybe I should buy them

1:29:17 all what do you think great excellent [Music] hey look I'm an artist

1:29:33 here's my latest work it's called office wall I was inspired

1:29:39 by looking at the walls of the office are you a photographer yes

1:29:49 well no I I take a lot of pictures hm well I'm

1:29:57 not so crazy about that one but I do like what you've

1:30:02 done here I'm very moved by it actually it's a fascinating mixture

1:30:12 of eastern and western Traditions you have talent I do I think

1:30:19 I could sell this really it's very good I'm crazy about photography

1:30:28 well do you have any more of your work here uh no

1:30:35 here's my card why don't you bring me some pieces on Friday

1:30:44 okay bye-bye bye-bye so where are we going to put this thing

1:31:04 hang it by my desk really yeah as an artist I'm really

1:31:10 starting to like it as a matter of fact I think it's

1:31:15 one of the most interesting works I've ever seen [Music] B can

1:31:40 you help me with something sure I'm trying to print a file

1:31:42 but the printer won't work push the green button on the printer

1:31:46 why to turn it on it won't print unless it's on oh

1:31:51 right silly me thank you hey B my laptop crash and I

1:31:57 can't get it to do anything I I type on the keyboard

1:32:00 and nothing happens stick this here why to restart the computer

1:32:09 you sure okay thanks Bob I could use a hand with something

1:32:21 what is it somebody sent me an email but I think it

1:32:24 has a virus in it don't open the attachment click on the no

1:32:27 virus icon on the toolbar why to clean the computer and stop

1:32:32 the virus thanks Bob can I ask you another question I'm

1:32:42 sorry but I can't get any work done with all these questions

1:32:46 please I have some very important stuff I need to finish right

1:32:50 now game over game over very important stuff game over game how

1:33:04 can I help [Music] you hey Mr Evans yes you asked me

1:33:19 to build a website for the company oh yes how's it coming

1:33:22 along well sir I think I need some new technology what do

1:33:26 you need a new scanner what's that it's a scanner sir

1:33:32 but it's not nearly as good as this one this one would give

1:33:38 us much better photos Okay and a digital camera would be good

1:33:45 what's that it's not a digital camera sir it won't take pictures

1:33:50 as easily as this one okay and also a new laptop it's

1:34:01 not as fast as this one I see anything else a new

1:34:08 DVD drive and I could also use a new joystick a joystick

1:34:15 isn't that for computer games well I don't really need the joystick

1:34:24 what's all this going to cost me well actually we could do

1:34:34 without the DVD drive and the laptop and the camera and the scanner

1:34:46 great do you have a favorite genre of movie I love drama

1:35:15 I love comedy but my my favorite is drama do you think

1:35:20 there's too much violence in movies I think some times some films

1:35:25 portray violence a little too graphically but I feel that um if

1:35:29 it helps the plot along um and there's sort of a point

1:35:33 to the violence then it's okay but unnecessary violence really turns

1:35:36 me off so do you choose to go see movies if you

1:35:40 know they're going to be violent I usually tend to see films

1:35:44 that get good reviews or by uh filmmakers whom I admire

1:35:48 I don't think violence would really you know sway me one way

1:35:52 or the other do you ever go to see violent movies yourself yes

1:35:55 I've seen violent movies um Thrillers and and movies of that nature can

1:36:00 violent movies be dangerous I think people are dangerous I don't know

1:36:06 that movies are dangerous should children be allowed to see violent movies

1:36:11 no I don't think children need to be watching violent movies so

1:36:15 what's your feeling about violence is it harmful particularly to Children um

1:36:20 it I think violence is um harmful um especially in movies movies

1:36:26 children of certain ages should not see uh violent movies because they're

1:36:30 a little more influential and um don't have the uh judgment skills

1:36:37 that adults do could you tell me um some of the things

1:36:44 that are important to you in a hotel such as um

1:36:47 a fitness center or a pool a gift shop a restaurant a business

1:36:53 center I look more for a location in a hotel than

1:36:56 anything is anything else I want it to be close and convenient

1:37:00 to whatever I'm doing in town if I'm there to enjoy myself

1:37:03 for example then I want to be near the beach uh so

1:37:07 um location is more important to me than anything else I I

1:37:11 don't pay too much attention to the hotel one bed she doesn't

1:37:15 like twin beds but I'm I'm not a big fan of hotels

1:37:20 if they have if they're comfortable I'm happy with it when

1:37:23 you stay in in a hotel do you use room service no

1:37:26 I try not to use room service because I like to get

1:37:29 out and see a little bit of the Tino the city

1:37:32 that I'm staying in thinking about a really good hotel experience could you

1:37:36 tell me about that really what makes a hotel special is

1:37:39 the are the people who work there if people there are very nice

1:37:43 and friendly and people say good morning and know you by name

1:37:47 and they they when you come back to the hotel they greet

1:37:50 you and they ask you how your day was and they just

1:37:53 make the difference if if when I stayed in the hotel I

1:37:57 had um I had a Bellman bring me flowers that were left

1:38:01 over and put them in my room and those are those little

1:38:03 touches that I think make your experience or you stay in a hotel

1:38:07 much more pleasant than when you just stay anywhere else how

1:38:11 about a worst hotel experience well um I have had experiences more

1:38:19 on more than one occasion where I've been in a room next

1:38:21 to people that are rather noisy and so that can be

1:38:26 that can be a distraction especially when you've got to be up early

1:38:28 in the morning who are you most like in terms of Personality

1:38:35 my mother and why do you say that outgoing she smiles

1:38:39 a lot do you have any brothers or sisters one brother Two

1:38:46 Three Sisters okay and how are you different you say one more extroverted

1:38:51 than the other or more introverted uh well I'm quiet calm

1:38:57 I don't really get excited over things and just take it easy

1:39:02 I don't let things bother me a lot while my sisters they

1:39:07 will get excited and get upset and um so I'm not like

1:39:12 that okay how about first children do you think that they

1:39:15 have certain traits that they share well I think my brother being

1:39:19 the oldest and the only boy was allowed to get away with things

1:39:23 a lot more than my sister and I and what I mean

1:39:25 by that is um as the oldest and as a boy

1:39:29 he was able to go to concerts at an earlier age than

1:39:33 my sister or I um he kind of got out of household

1:39:38 duties uh that my sister and I had because he was babysitting Us

1:39:44 and how about if you're the last in a big family do

1:39:46 you think that uh you get special benefits from that yeah you

1:39:51 get clothes what about birth order do you think that makes a difference

1:39:56 who's the oldest and who's the youngest um I don't think so

1:40:02 not important I don't think it's important it's just the personality if

1:40:08 you got a bill in a restaurant that was obviously wrong what

1:40:11 would you do I would tell the waitress and ask her if

1:40:16 everything's okay I think they should tell the waiter and what should

1:40:21 they tell them um the that um they're given too much change

1:40:26 or they're undercharge How about if a person's shopping in an apartment

1:40:31 store and uh an expensive piece of clothing has a tag

1:40:35 on it that's obviously wrong it's priced too low uh would that should

1:40:39 that person tell the cashier or just pay for it I usually

1:40:44 ask that's me though well I I would go to the cashier

1:40:49 or I think everybody should go to the cashier at least

1:40:52 in ass is that right and if he says it's right then

1:40:57 at least you tried it and then suppose you found some

1:40:59 cash on the street not in a wallet just some cash lying

1:41:03 on the street what would you do with it I pick it

1:41:05 up and put it in my pocket I usually do not pick up

1:41:08 money if a very poor person is around cuz I think

1:41:11 a poor person needs it more than I do so I leave it

1:41:13 lying there so are the three situations the restaurant the department store

1:41:19 and the cash on the street the same or different I think

1:41:24 each one is different yeah why um you make judgments all

1:41:29 the time and not everything is equal you look so familiar have we

1:41:44 met before I don't think you're from around here it might have

1:41:51 been two weeks ago but I'm not not sure has it been

1:41:55 a month or a year I have a funny feeling that I've

1:42:01 met you twice that's what they call Deja Vu you are saying

1:42:07 something friendly trying to be nice and now you're being friendly too

1:42:14 one look one word is the friendliest sound that I've ever heard

1:42:23 thanks for your greetings I'm glad this meeting occurred greetings and small

1:42:32 T Make the World Go Round on every winding road I want

1:42:41 this is what I found have you written any letters to your friends

2:07:01 she was afraid I would never meet a man and get married she was probably right

2:07:06 if you were a chef you wouldn't have met Bob how do you know before he

2:07:12 met you Bob only ate fast food it's

2:07:17 true your mother must have been very happy when

2:07:19 you and Bob got engaged she was hey you'll never guess what Bob was going to be

2:07:28 Cheryl a rock musician uh basketball player no

2:07:35 Bob was going to be a dancer he was actually in the state ballet when he was

2:07:42 young no kidding you never told me this I

2:07:46 could have been a great dancer what made

2:07:50 you change your mind the diet was too hard

2:07:54 I had to stop eating everything chocolate cake

2:07:57 fried chicken potato chips I tried I might have

2:08:02 been able to do it but then they said no more bread and butter bread and butter

2:08:08 can you believe it and that was the end wow Bob I never knew do you enjoy

2:08:16 watching ballet at all I can't I'd like to but as soon as the music starts I

2:08:22 get very very hungry what about you Mr Evans what did you think you were going

2:08:38 to be when you were younger if I tell you will you try not to laugh of course

2:08:46 I always thought I would have my own television program to talk about e I didn't

2:08:54 know you were so interested in Etiquette I

2:08:57 have always loved etiquette I think I would have

2:08:59 made a great television etiquette teacher well I

2:09:04 think you could still do it it's perfect

2:09:07 for you really why well you're very polite

2:09:14 for one thing you always know which Fork to use

2:09:18 at a restaurant that's a real talent you've

2:09:23 taught me a lot about the customs of other cultures maybe I could still give it

2:09:30 a try today's topic dinner conversation if your International

2:09:40 guests look offended and are leaving the table

2:09:44 early you've probably chosen a topic that's Taboo

2:09:48 in their home country find out what's acceptable

2:09:54 and what's not coming up on International eate with Evans

2:10:05 what do you think wow amazing Unforgettable you

2:10:17 have a real talent all right thank [Music]

2:10:26 you I don't know I didn't know that planning

2:10:33 a wedding would be so hard Marie could you give us your opinion on a few

2:10:39 things I'd love to First how many people should

2:10:44 we invite Bob wants a small wedding 20

2:10:47 guests would be nice I want a large wedding

2:10:51 about 300 people 300 yesterday you said 200 I

2:10:57 have a lot of relatives who want to come

2:11:00 then there's the location I always thought I'd

2:11:02 get married in a park or at the beach

2:11:06 that's so romantic I would like to get married indoors where I won't get wet if

2:11:11 it's raining that makes sense I prefer traditional

2:11:16 music in the ceremony contemporary music I'd like

2:11:22 a long ceremony and a short reception I

2:11:24 want a short ceremony and a huge celebration afterwards

2:11:28 I want a white cake and I want a chocolate cake I know how are we ever

2:11:33 going to agree on this don't hurt yourself

2:11:37 here's an idea that might work plan a wedding

2:11:40 that's big enough to include all of Cheryl's

2:11:43 family sorry Bob in the park on Oak Street

2:11:47 that has that building where you can go

2:11:49 if it rains you can have traditional music

2:11:53 in the ceremony and contemporary music at the party

2:11:57 and you could have two cakes at the reception

2:12:00 one white and one chocolate sounds okay to me me too hey we did it oh

2:12:09 yay I'm so happy excuse me oh Mar

2:12:15 thank you so much you're amazing we couldn't have

2:12:18 done it without you [Laughter] [Music] hi lunchtime

2:12:41 I'm too tired to go back to the office planning a wedding is hard work I need

2:12:48 a holiday let's make today a holiday well

2:12:58 tell Mr Evans we can't come back to work

2:13:01 that's a great idea what are we celebrating

2:13:06 you're getting married how about National wedding day what

2:13:11 happens on National wedding day I don't know why am I the one who has to think

2:13:16 about it why don't we make it national

2:13:21 singles day instead all the married people give gifts

2:13:25 to their single friends no buying gifts is hard

2:13:31 work I want to enjoy myself on our new

2:13:34 holiday what about a red day everybody wears

2:13:39 red clothes and there's dancing in the street

2:13:42 that goes on all night how about National

2:13:45 buy your friend another cup of coffee nice

2:13:50 try how about National on time day what

2:13:56 happens on National on time day you remind one

2:14:00 another to come back to work on time

2:14:07 happy holiday [Music] waitress so Mrs batty you're

2:14:21 looking for an exciting place for your next

2:14:23 vacation I usually travel to major cities in Europe

2:14:26 but this time I want to go someplace

2:14:28 different someplace away from the city as long

2:14:32 as it's safe let's see ah how about

2:14:38 California the Big Sur area is spectacular California has

2:14:44 lots of earthquakes doesn't it well they have

2:14:48 earthquakes occasionally but not very often but it does

2:14:52 have earthquakes yes I'm not going okay how

2:15:02 about some place in Asia a beach in Thailand

2:15:07 coang has beautiful beaches and it's very quiet

2:15:10 there a quiet beach sounds nice but they said

2:15:14 on the news there's a monsoon in Thailand

2:15:18 but the monsoon will be over by the time

2:15:20 you go what else can you recommend Australia

2:15:28 the Australian outback is amazing I've heard they

2:15:32 have tornadoes in Australia some hearts where else

2:15:43 Jamaica hurricanes South Africa floods Hawaii landslides you know

2:15:57 a lot about natural disasters don't you Mrs

2:16:00 batty let's see what about Finland Finland it's wild

2:16:09 beautiful and very different from other parts of Europe

2:16:13 and nothing bad ever happens in Finland Finland

2:16:17 sounds good I'll go to Finland great uh

2:16:21 book your [Music] tickets okay I just booked

2:16:33 your tickets to Helsinki Finland you'll be staying

2:16:36 at the palace hotel that's great excuse me Mr Evans

2:16:43 yes Marie Mr Woods is on the phone he told me to tell you it's urgent urgent

2:16:49 he's traveling you know yes he said there's

2:16:52 some kind of epidemic what kind of epidemic it

2:16:57 sounds like it's that new influenza but he

2:17:00 was vaccinated for that before he left I know

2:17:04 but he told me to tell you that he wants to fly home today on the internet

2:17:10 it says only three people are sick that is not an epidemic and it's not like

2:17:15 anybody's dying from this flu he said he didn't want to be the first where is he

2:17:22 traveling may I ask he's in Finland Finland

2:17:27 I just booked tickets to Finland Mrs batty

2:17:31 everything will be fine you'll get vaccinated and you'll

2:17:34 have nothing to worry about I'm not going

2:17:37 to Finland you told me nothing bad ever

2:17:40 happens in Finland Mrs batty I can't think of anywhere in the world you can go

2:17:46 and be completely safe right here in this city you

2:17:49 could go outside and get get hit by a bus but you can't let that stop you

2:17:54 from doing the things you want to do look why don't we go to lunch and we'll

2:17:59 talk it over I don't think she's going

2:18:06 anywhere [Laughter] [Music] hello Bob dining alone Paul

2:18:32 and Marie went to get newspapers do you mind if I join you well please sit down

2:18:39 may I ask what you're reading um a history of the world the bestseller I'm very

2:18:48 impressed reading non-fiction over lunch I hear that it's

2:18:52 a very difficult book uh no it's it's

2:18:56 a pretty easy read I I can't put it down actually a real page Turner huh do

2:19:05 you think I could borrow it when you're

2:19:06 done sure I usually prefer fiction myself you know

2:19:13 Thrillers Mysteries there's nothing like curling up

2:19:17 with a good science fiction novel is there you read

2:19:21 science fiction too don't tell anyone are you

2:19:25 learning a lot from your book yeah I think

2:19:28 so so tell me what you're reading about right now um this part is about Great

2:19:38 Britain really do you mind if I take a look Cheryl hates when I read Comics then

2:19:48 I can understand why you can't put the book

2:19:51 down you think that I could borrow it

2:19:53 then I'm still reading this one but I have another one I can loan you I meant

2:20:00 this one oh help [Music] yourself look

2:20:13 at this the paper says that a tornado carried

2:20:17 a woman for 300 miles and she lived to tell about it I'm not sure if you know

2:20:23 this but that story isn't true it's in the paper it must be true that paper is

2:20:31 trash I can't believe you're reading it what

2:20:34 do you mean it's Fiction it's not news nothing

2:20:38 in there is true if you want real news you have to read this paper that paper

2:20:43 is boring this one's much more interesting woman

2:20:50 gives birth to cow man builds house from bread

2:20:57 baby with two heads come on this is

2:21:04 offensive storm kills 100 in Texas train accident

2:21:10 kills five injures more man kills wife and son

2:21:17 I'm sorry but all that death and destruction is pretty offensive to me I know

2:21:23 that these things happened and I know that those didn't

2:21:26 you don't know that you just assume that it's

2:21:30 true let's ask Bob and Mr Evans what paper they read never mind let's just read

2:21:40 that sounds good to me look at this a man

2:21:45 with four legs [Music] what are those wacky

2:22:00 glasses you're wearing these are ultra high tech

2:22:04 top-of-the-line state-ofthe-art Cutting Edge TV glasses and you're

2:22:11 actually watching TV right now yeah right here

2:22:15 in the corner what are you watching the basketball

2:22:19 game unbelievable and Cheryl doesn't mind this yes

2:22:27 sorry my team's winning this new invention doesn't

2:22:33 bother you are you kidding if I'd known how

2:22:36 happy they would make him I would have

2:22:38 bought those glasses for Bob long ago technology today

2:22:43 is amazing you know I wish they'd invent

2:22:47 something that would make people who talk on cell

2:22:50 phon quieter this guy in the cafe today

2:22:53 was so loud I couldn't hear myself talking it

2:22:59 wasn't funny what oh sorry I was laughing at this guy on TV if I could invent

2:23:08 something it would be a thing for Bob's

2:23:10 car that would automatically charge him when he goes

2:23:13 over the speed limit he drives so fast sometimes but he'd slow down if he had

2:23:19 to pay no is your team losing no I heard what you said you just leave my car

2:23:35 [Music] alone hi Paul wait till you see what I've got what is it well I

2:23:51 have this problem with my cell phone whenever

2:23:53 I'm traveling with a group I can never hear

2:23:55 it ring or feel it vibrate so I got this thing that lets me know whenever

2:24:00 my phone is ringing how does it do that it buzzes me buzzes you know so I

2:24:09 could feel it does it work I don't know no one's called me yet ow what someone's

2:24:19 calling me hello hello no one's there wow

2:24:27 that was a big buzz that almost hurt maybe

2:24:31 it isn't working right no it's working fine

2:24:38 another phone call hello hello strange man if

2:24:47 I ever get used to that I'll always

2:24:49 know whenever my phone is is ringing stop thring

2:25:02 me Paul if I were you I would take that thing back to the store before you

2:25:07 hurt yourself I'm going I'll see you later

2:25:23 I hope he can drive okay he'll be fine how do you know I'll stop calling [Music]

2:25:42 him did you see the politicians expect to raise

2:25:45 taxes again really what does the government decide

2:25:48 to spend our money on now they're planning

2:25:52 to build a stronger military it's wrong to spend

2:25:56 so much on the military they should spend

2:25:58 it on education instead can we please avoid discussing

2:26:04 politics why every time we begin talking about politics

2:26:09 people get mad at each other they should

2:26:14 spend more money on fighting corruption if they were

2:26:18 able to stop corrupt officials maybe they wouldn't

2:26:21 need to raise our taxes that's true but I think we need to spend more money

2:26:27 on the military without a strong military the world

2:26:30 won't be very safe that's one way to look at it but maybe the world would be

2:26:38 safer and better if we tried to eliminate

2:26:42 poverty what do you think Cheryl I think

2:26:47 that if I say what I really think you'll

2:26:49 get all mad and call me crazy or ridiculous

2:26:53 Cheryl don't be so afraid we're only talking

2:27:00 I think that the government should spend more

2:27:04 money on cooking schools what most people don't

2:27:11 know how to cook well I think the government

2:27:14 should help teach them that's ridiculous are are

2:27:20 you crazy use our taxes to pay for cooking

2:27:27 of course not but look at you you're all mad at me this is why I

2:27:34 never discuss politics with friends but don't let

2:27:39 me stop you from getting mad at each other

2:27:47 are you traditional in your medical ideas that is

2:27:50 is do you kind of believe in Western

2:27:52 medicine or do you like to explore non-traditional

2:27:56 treatments such as acupuncture or homeopathic medicine um I

2:28:02 don't explore uh non-traditional treatments as much as I

2:28:05 would probably like to I think there's probably a lot of Merit in them and they

2:28:10 haven't been studied enough I'm more traditional than anything

2:28:14 else in my in my medication or my medical

2:28:16 practices I'm more for the naturalistic approach approach

2:28:21 I like um you know more natural um

2:28:25 herbal medicines in your opinion what are the advantages

2:28:27 of traditional Western medicine and surgery uh I

2:28:32 think the enormous amount of research and uh

2:28:35 and uh proven fact that that that's behind

2:28:38 our medicine uh just makes it makes me feel

2:28:41 more comfortable with it what do you see

2:28:43 is maybe some disadvantages of Western medicine um I

2:28:48 think at times Western medicine can make

2:28:51 the problem worse and trying to make problems better

2:28:55 are there any non-traditional therapies that you use

2:29:00 um I drink a lot of tea actually so

2:29:02 I guess that's pretty non-traditional um usually when

2:29:06 I feel myself coming down with something I will

2:29:08 take a neonia which an herbal medicine uh

2:29:12 uh prior drink a lot of orange juice since

2:29:14 vitamin C helps you but if I feel really sick then I'll take a cough medicine

2:29:19 could you tell me what your career or occupation

2:29:22 is I'm an elementary school teacher my career

2:29:26 path will be in marketing helping companies build

2:29:28 their brand and help market products to the general

2:29:31 consumer um I work in um television and um

2:29:37 I would like to eventually produce and direct

2:29:40 did you think that uh you'd be in marketing when you were a child uh no

2:29:46 I thought i'' be president of the United

2:29:48 States or drive a fire truck what made teaching

2:29:52 a good career for you first of all I

2:29:55 love children and I liked the idea of imparting

2:30:01 some of my knowledge to young ones everybody

2:30:06 has skills talents and abilities so you know some

2:30:09 people are artistic others have mechanical ability what

2:30:12 would you say are some of your skills

2:30:16 um I would say um I have a lot of artistic ability um I did a lot

2:30:20 of Art in um School uh good question uh my skills and talents would be uh coming

2:30:28 up with new ideas different ideas creative ideas

2:30:31 that kind of build a buzz around a product

2:30:33 do you think that talents and abilities are

2:30:35 genetic I think they're a combination of both genetics

2:30:39 and environment I think that you are born

2:30:42 with certain um qualities that your parents I think

2:30:46 are have and and just living with the people around you and and and um learning

2:30:52 from your teachers and those that you're constantly interacting

2:30:55 with you pick up certain skills you're from Germany

2:31:00 what is a wedding like in Germany well first of all you have to have a civil

2:31:06 ceremony where you go to um to the city hall and well you make it you

2:31:13 make everything official and then traditionally you go

2:31:18 to church and have their religious ceremony and is

2:31:21 there a wedding reception afterward usually there is

2:31:24 of course um after church when as everybody's waiting

2:31:29 for the broom and the bride coming out

2:31:31 and throwing rice at them and flowers and then the whole crew is going to a nice

2:31:38 place having dinner and having a party you mentioned

2:31:42 that uh your family's originally from Ghana yes

2:31:45 could you tell me a little bit about

2:31:47 the uh courtship and and marriage ceremonies of your country

2:31:53 um there is a traditional sometimes they do

2:31:57 involve like the American type of wedding they're very

2:31:59 traditional you walk down the aisle and but they

2:32:01 also in um there is also the traditional part in African culture and um you wear

2:32:07 the clothing The Outfits it's much longer um

2:32:11 sometimes it can go into the next day some

2:32:13 people it extends tell me about the reception they find a place to go to or it's

2:32:20 uh out outside sometimes it's a big tent

2:32:23 like it just depends on the bride and groom and what they want and there's tons

2:32:28 of dancing traditional dancing um eating lots of food

2:32:34 um sometimes you have somebody come in and talk about how they know him and how

2:32:41 um how good he is and what he's

2:32:42 done and you know people giving thoughts of wisdom

2:32:47 of how to be together and it just it just really a great thing how do you

2:32:53 feel about prohibiting smoking indoors as a smoker

2:32:57 I don't appreciate it all the time but I

2:33:00 can I can understand why I think it's fantastic um I think it's great if you

2:33:06 don't if you go to restaurants and nobody

2:33:09 can smoke food tastes better and your clothes don't

2:33:13 smell how about censorship of books or movies

2:33:16 by a government I am 100% against censorship

2:33:20 of any books or movies or any expression um

2:33:24 of creativity um and I feel that when governments

2:33:27 try to censor books or movies then it creates a a sort of atmosphere of fear

2:33:33 and people don't get to don't have already access

2:33:37 to information that um should be available to them

2:33:42 if you could tell me maybe two things

2:33:44 that you think are big problems in the world

2:33:47 today I think one of the biggest problems is war and I think another big problem

2:33:53 is racism in this world and of those could you tell me um you know a little

2:33:58 bit more about what you think could be

2:34:00 done to uh alleviate these problems I think actually

2:34:04 with both problems it's mostly about understanding each

2:34:07 other and sitting down on a table and talk and get to know each other and and um

2:34:13 be able to make more compromises and and understand

2:34:16 different cultures and reasons why people do certain

2:34:19 things certain ways and I think we would

2:34:21 all be much happier communication communication that's the that's

2:34:26 the clue exactly [Music] yeah wherever you go

2:34:44 there are things you should know so be

2:34:49 aware [Music] of the customs and Views all

2:34:57 the dos and taboos of people there you were just a stranger in a sea of new

2:35:11 faces now we're making small talk on a first

2:35:15 name basis it's a great day for love

2:35:22 isn't de aren't you the one I was hoping to find it's a great day for love

2:35:34 isn't it by the time you said hello I had already made up my [Music] mind

2:35:49 when wherever you stay be sure to obey

2:35:55 the golden rules and before you relax brush up

2:36:05 on the facts you learned at school try to be polite and always be sure to get

2:36:19 some friendly advice on proper edette it's a great

2:36:27 day for love isn't it aren't you the one

2:36:35 I was hoping to find it's a great day for love isn't it by the time

2:36:45 you said hello I had already made made up my mind and when you smiled at me

2:36:56 and I fell in love the sun had just appeared in the sky but you know how

2:37:10 much I care don't you and you'll always

2:37:16 be there won't you [Music] it's a great day

2:37:23 for love isn't it aren't you the one I was hoping to find it's a great day

2:37:35 for love isn't it by the time you said hello I had already made up my mind

2:38:02 day after day all my thoughts drift away before they begun I sit in my room

2:38:11 in the darkness and Gloom just waiting for someone

2:38:17 to take me to a tourist town with parties

2:38:22 in the street and people dancing to a joyful sound it's a song that people sing

2:38:29 it's the laughter that should bring on an endless

2:38:34 holiday it's the happiness inside it's a roller

2:38:38 coaster ride on an endless holiday I try and I try to work hard but I get

2:38:48 lost in a day and I think about how sad life is without few good holidays I

2:39:00 close my eyes pull down the shade in my imagination I am dancing in a big

2:39:08 parade and the music is loud I get lost in the crowd on an endless holiday it's

2:39:17 a picnic at noon it's a trip to the moon

2:39:21 on an endless holiday with flags and confetti

2:39:29 wild costumes and a great big marching band

2:39:33 as we wish Each Other Well in a language we all understand the sky above fills

2:39:44 with the light of fireworks exploding as we dance

2:39:48 along the street tonight it's a song

2:39:52 that people sing it's the laughter that you bring

2:39:55 on an endless holiday it's the happiness inside

2:40:01 it's a roller coaster ride on an endless holiday
