Emma Grede on the skill that beats AI in the business world.
SHE MD Podcast
0:00 in the last year where the world has exploded with AI.
0:04 How are you looking at it?
0:06 proponent of AI, but I also think there's two pieces of it.
0:08 Number one, from a business point of view,
0:10 you have to figure out what needs protecting.
0:12 Like, what are the things that uniquely deserve and require human touch.
0:18 I'm in a product-based business.
0:19 There is no AI that's going to tell me how well a bra is going to perform.
0:23 I need a lady for that or somebody with boobs.
0:25 You can't allow technologies or advancements to come
0:30 in and dictate the way that you do business.
0:32 So, inviting AI into our business is something that we're doing thoughtfully.
0:36 What is touching our customers and what's important to our customers?
0:39 That gets protected.
0:40 Product gets protected.
0:41 Design and concept gets protected.
0:43 And everything else should be lifted up with AI.
0:47 But, if you ask me if I was like a teenager or in college right now,
0:51 I think the advice is not that different.
0:53 Learn to be a great learner.
0:55 Because it doesn't matter if I'm hiring like
0:57 a 21-year-old kid right now or a 55-year-old veteran,
1:00 what I value is flexibility of thought.
1:03 I need you to be able to take what it is you
1:05 know and think something different tomorrow
1:08 and adapt to what's happening quickly, right?
1:11 And so, you have to love to learn.
1:14 It's like, care the most.
1:16 Be the most curious.
1:18 Be the most flexible.
1:20 Never think you know everything.
1:21 And stay super, super open.
1:23 Cuz as things change, we need to be open to that.
1:26 And that flexibility piece is what I love the most because they're
1:29 the people that I see like winning over and over and over again.
