Must Have Mechanic Tools 1/12 #mechanic #shorts

0:00 Someone in your life has probably told you that size matters.
0:03 And in this case, they're actually right.
0:07 Just because the stubby is little,
0:09 doesn't mean that it doesn't still get the job done.
0:13 So, this is the Milwaukee M12 stubby half-inch drive impact.
0:18 I have used this thing almost exclusively for taking off wheels,
0:22 doing suspension work.
0:23 In fact, I don't even really break the big boy
0:25 out anymore because this thing it pretty much gets it done.
0:29 I've never had a wheel that this wouldn't take off.
0:32 I've had very few suspension components that this wouldn't undo.
0:35 It's small, it's lightweight,
0:37 it has this cool clip if you're the belt clip style type guy.
0:41 That's not really me, but it has it all.
0:43 It has it It has it all.
0:44 Milwaukee finally upgraded the light on these.
0:47 Now, this one, I think it's probably a year and a half, maybe 2 years old.
0:51 And no joke, I don't hardly use any air tools anymore.
0:54 We've seen over the last number of years
0:57 power tools getting smaller and smaller and smaller.
1:00 Running on 12-V batteries instead of 18-V batteries.
1:03 And the power in these little 12-V is comparable
1:07 to a 18-V from maybe 5, 6, 7 years ago.
1:11 And a lighter weight tool, and this really does make a case for pure DIYer.
1:16 And you're thinking, do I buy power tools or do I buy an air compressor?
1:20 In today's world, you're probably going to find that dollar for dollar,
1:23 you're going to get better performance out of a battery power tool.
1:26 In fact, that band file I showed you earlier,
1:29 they make an air version of it that's probably a bit less expensive,
1:32 but you need the air compressor.
1:34 This half-inch drive one has become my go-to actually with the 3/8 one,
1:38 which the power numbers are basically the same.
1:40 I choose which one I'm going to use based on what socket I need.
1:44 If you really want to know what tools I use,
1:47 I do probably 85% of everything that I do out of this roll cart.
1:51 And these two live right down there at the bottom.
