LIVE MASTERCLASS: Why You Understand English… But Still Can't Speak (And How to Finally Fix It)
Miss Honey 🍯
0:00 Yay.
0:03 [laughter]
0:03 I'll [clears throat] start by telling you guys my story.
0:05 What actually changes your English?
0:09 So, first let me introduce myself.
0:11 Obviously, I'm Tiyana, Tiyana Ortiz.
0:14 You guys know me as Miss Honey.
0:17 I've always taught English to online students from around the world
0:22 since since I turned 18, so for 5 years now.
0:27 What I noticed about most of my students and the same
0:30 problem that they had was that they would study English for years.
0:35 They would come to my classes and say "Teacher,
0:39 I've been studying grammar and going to English classes
0:42 for 5 to 10 years and I still have trouble speaking.
0:48 I can understand, but I can't speak." Um that was always the issue.
0:53 I don't know why I can't speak yet.
0:56 And it's because you're not speaking.
1:02 [laughter] It's always I've always said speaking is the only way to speak.
1:07 You can't speak if you don't speak.
1:09 There's no other way to reach fluency.
1:12 When you're learning to speak a new language,
1:14 you're going to make mistakes and it's the only way.
1:18 And I, in my English lessons, have always applauded mistakes.
1:23 So, this this particular student is very
1:26 interesting because she didn't speak very much English.
1:31 Um but she still spoke all the time.
1:35 She didn't know much English,
1:37 but she would just speak and speak and speak to the point where
1:42 she would make so many mistakes and I would correct her every time.
1:49 She would continue to make them and I would continue to correct her.
1:54 But instead of feeling down when she
1:58 heard those mistakes she would just keep talking.
2:06 [gasps] And I remember just after 3 months of speaking with her twice
2:10 a week and she improved faster than any other student that I've ever had.
2:18 But it's because she wasn't scared of making mistakes.
2:24 She went from level A2 to B1 in 3 months.
2:29 The biggest problems my students would encounter were
2:33 not having a safe space to practice feeling too
2:37 shy or scared to start not being able
2:41 to find the motivation to join lessons and speak.
2:45 And the biggest one, of course,
2:47 not having enough money to pay for weekly or daily speaking lessons.
2:53 I've always loved teaching English because my students
2:58 always felt so comfortable speaking with me.
3:01 And they always told me how grateful they were to have found me a very kind,
3:07 fun, patient teacher who doesn't focus on grammar rules and homework.
3:14 Someone who just focuses on speaking.
3:17 I would just speak the entire lesson and I
3:21 would correct them and I would connect with them.
3:25 Because that connection made the conversation so much more comfortable.
3:31 When I had my TikTok account, I started teaching online.
3:35 Um but I realized sooner or later that there are so many
3:41 of you and only one of me and I can't teach all of you.
3:47 I just don't have enough time.
3:49 And that's exactly how my community came to be.
3:54 Because I didn't just want another English course.
3:58 I wanted a place where you would speak.
4:02 All of these teachers, they sell courses.
4:05 They say this course is going to help you learn English.
4:07 You're going to learn English with this.
4:09 Which might be true, you might learn English.
4:12 But to speak English is very different than just learning.
4:18 [laughter] So, if you want to speak English, you need to speak it.
4:21 You need a safe space where you feel
4:23 comfortable speaking like my students had with me.
4:27 A place that feels human.
4:30 Not like a classroom.
4:32 A place where you don't feel judged or rushed
4:36 or overwhelmed where you just feel motivated to keep learning.
4:43 So, I wanted to create a space where English learners could have a safe
4:50 space to practice feel confident and comfortable
4:54 to start cuz it's hard to start,
4:57 like I said, when you're not good at something,
4:59 it's very difficult to be a beginner.
5:03 To find the motivation to join lessons
5:05 and speak even when you're feeling unmotivated or tired.
5:10 That's what this community is about, motivating each other.
5:15 Posting your wins, your achievements and sharing them with each
5:19 other to keep inspiring others to do the same.
5:23 And of course, I wanted them to be able to afford to pay.
5:28 Speaking and learning is for everyone.
5:33 This is for you, no matter where you're
5:36 from or how much money you have you belong here.
5:42 Um the only way you will ever become fluent in in English and get a higher
5:47 salary and more job opportunities and travel wherever
5:53 you dream in the world make international friends,
5:58 watch movies and series and YouTube videos in English it's by speaking.
6:04 So, I created just the place for you to do so.
6:08 Because conversation clubs are the closest thing to real life.
6:13 Where you're not memorizing you're using the language.
6:19 You're not studying alone you're interacting with real people.
6:25 And this method works because it's very simple.
6:29 Um you speak you make mistakes, you get corrected, and you improve.
6:35 Speaking English brings lots of opportunities and that's just the truth.
6:40 And the question is not if it brings opportunities,
6:44 it's whether you'll be ready or not.
6:47 A place where you're surrounded by other English learners [snorts]
6:55 teachers who guide you correct you and create a safe space for you to learn.
7:03 Daily, weekly, and monthly dynamics that keep you motivated.
7:09 And a place where speaking English is ex- is exciting.
7:14 It's not scary or boring.
7:18 It's very exciting.
7:22 [laughter] And of course, like I said earlier,
7:24 you would normally be paying $25 for a class.
7:29 Say one class per week.
7:31 In a month, that's $100.
7:34 And in a year, that's $1,200.
7:37 And yeah, that's very expensive.
7:41 So, now let me show you guys this community that I have.
7:46 Here in the community is where everybody interacts.
7:50 This is where the motivation and um getting inspired by other learners happens.
7:58 So, everyone in the community posts in here almost daily.
8:03 So, we have tips.
8:05 We have lots more to see here.
8:07 Now, inside of the classroom,
8:08 here you're going to find all the valuable resources
8:11 for you to practice your English with activities for each
8:14 of my videos and transcripts for you to translate
8:17 into your own language and the PDF, of course.
8:22 Then we have the calendar.
8:24 This is where we have all of our conversation clubs.
8:28 So, as you can see, there's a lot.
8:30 There will be more as more people join,
8:32 but this is how many we have at the moment.
8:35 Which is um I'm pretty sure it's 18 conversation clubs per week.
8:42 So, this is where you practice speaking with teachers
8:45 and other English learners from around the world.
8:49 And there's lots of different teachers,
8:51 lots of different topics and it's a really fun place to be.
8:55 Here.
8:56 All right, so these are the prices for the English
8:59 community that I am about to give you access to.
9:02 One quick note about pricing.
9:05 If you choose the annual plan it comes with a 50% or sorry,
9:11 57% discount compared to the monthly plan.
9:16 So, yeah, basically you're paying for 4 months, but getting 12.
9:20 This 57% discount equals to $16 per month,
9:24 which is so much better and so much cheaper than what we were mentioning
9:28 before for a normal regular speaking lesson
9:31 with a teacher weekly, once per week.
9:34 That ends up being $1,200 per year.
9:40 And for this one, $199 is just a steal for starting to speak English.
9:47 You get all the resources unlocked instantly and everything
9:52 in the monthly plan but with the best price for committed learners.
9:57 Also, with the annual plan, you get a a bonus.
10:00 Also, the platform automatically adds VAT
10:03 or local taxes for international members, depending on your country.
10:08 So, just be sure to check this before you pay the full price.
10:12 Check how much it adds in taxes for you.
10:15 And once you join, remember,
10:17 your price stays locked forever as long as you remain a member.
10:24 So, every time I launch, the price will go up.
10:28 It will keep going up every time I launch,
10:30 but if you join now, your price stays locked.
10:34 So, I know I have My community is from all around the world,
10:39 so I know you guys need to a little look at another price that isn't US dollars.
10:45 You can try it out for a month, and if you don't like it, you can leave.
10:49 Even if you don't like it, $39 is something that you would pay
10:54 for one or two lessons with an English teacher.
10:58 Now, this is what you pay for a full month of English speaking clubs.
11:04 Are they by levels?
11:06 So, no, the conversation clubs are not by levels because in real life,
11:11 you have English conversations with people who have different levels than you.
11:17 So, speaking to someone with a higher level
11:19 is going to improve your English, but also,
11:22 it's going to help the person with a higher level of English to help you.
11:27 I don't want to make mistake, but it is the only way.
11:29 That's right.
11:30 It is the only way.
11:35 [bell] Ooh, welcome, guys.
11:36 Let me say hi to you.
11:37 Okay.
11:38 Welcome, Ayhan.
11:39 You joined for a full year.
11:41 Welcome, welcome.
11:42 Thank you for joining.
11:44 Roicy de la Cruz, welcome, welcome.
11:47 Thank you for joining.
11:48 Brian Alcantar, welcome.
11:50 Thank you for joining, too.
11:52 I can't wait to meet you guys inside the community.
11:55 Oh, one more thing.
11:56 Sorry, I forgot to mention this.
11:57 It's super important.
11:59 So, on Sunday, when I'm closing the community,
12:03 I'm going to have a welcome call for all the new members.
12:06 So, I'll talk to all the new members who
12:07 are joining this week um on Sunday, April 26th.

12:16 I swear you're going to love them.

12:22 to connect and make friends and learn, and I absolutely love them.
