Skull and Bones: Shaping the Future of Naval Combat Together
Ubisoft
0:02 It's more than I could have ever imagined, essentially.
0:04 And I'm excited for all of it!
0:08 It’s going to surprise a lot of people and it'll
0:10 bring so many more players back to the game.
0:16 Some members of a community have been supporting us and the work
0:19 we've been doing on the game since way before the official launch.
0:22 They've been given access to the game very
0:24 early on, have seen it in many different forms and it's thanks to their feedback
0:28 that the game has become what it is today.
0:31 I first started playing Skull and Bones in Closed Beta.
0:35 First time I crossed the open seas in my dinky little Bedar.
0:39 Right.
0:40 It was breathtaking, but it was also bloody terrifying.
0:46 This is something I want to do.
0:47 Instead of just being running around, I went on what I have at this pirate ship.
0:50 The ships are amazing.
0:52 And just the way it looked, the graphics were out of this world to me.
0:57 I can't...I can't explain it,
0:59 but it's taken me away from being that person of Platinum Trophy.
1:04 Once I've got it, I don't play again.
1:06 And when I started to play Skull
1:08 and Bones and I finally achieved the Platinum Trophy.
1:11 Something about the game just captivated me to keep playing.
1:15 the beauty of the game, the graphics, the way everything looks off the ocean.
1:21 That was my first impression coming into the game.
1:24 It was like- this game looks amazing.
1:27 I think what drives me the most is seeing
1:30 how the game evolves the ability to see the resonance
1:33 of how people react to certain changes that like
1:37 you've potentially even helped go into the right direction.
1:41 It's what is really exciting.
1:44 Just being able to be a small part of making
1:47 the game into what it is and it is and its future.
1:49 some of the ideas or even just small changes
1:52 that I've proposed in The Insider and the Keeper program,
1:55 seeing that make that into live game, I don't know.
1:57 It's just a little point of pride.
2:00 They'd been alongside the development, like the step through everything,
2:03 like how things have changed and that like,
2:05 you know, and how their support and their knowledge has,
2:09 you know, made this game grow.
2:13 It's always been very important for us to bring almost
2:16 engage players and our insiders have been part of the journey
2:19 from the very beginning In order to show them what's next
2:21 and of course get their thoughts on our plans for year three.
2:25 We pick these players very carefully based on their playtime,
2:28 the deep understanding they have of the game,
2:30 how active they are within the broader community.
2:33 Our goal is always to make sure we have a very strong
2:35 alignment between our vision for the future and what the community really wants.
2:39 What really stands out from those conversations is how open
2:41 they are about the things that they are really passionate about.
2:44 Also, all the things where we might disagree on.
2:47 At the end of the day, it's something that we're building together
2:49 with the community, for the community.
2:51 Workshop was just riveting.
2:53 I've had so much fun.
2:54 I've learned so much about the game that I didn't even know about.
2:57 And I thought I knew everything about the game already.
2:59 So this has been just amazing.
3:01 From what I've heard, very exciting and heading very much
3:05 in a community direction Coming to this workshop
3:08 and seeing just how grand and like forward thinking those plans were,
3:14 I'm sitting here like there is so much plan
3:17 and so much they want to bring to this game
3:21 There should be a lot of things coming
3:23 together that should excite players of all different interests.
3:27 For me, it’s the quality-of-life changes.
3:30 The UI, the UX.
3:32 I've seen it.
3:33 It's amazing.
3:33 It's a world of a difference.
3:35 One thing that for me, that was the most unexpected was the Galleon.
3:40 It's coming.
3:43 I like that the workshops give us a direct connection to the devs.
3:48 I know that outside of this room people
3:51 don't see the work that goes into the game.
3:53 seeing the fall and design process all of behind
3:56 the scenes I think is probably my favorite part.
3:58 The effort that gets put into the game,
4:01 I like seeing how the game is made and just how passionate the team is.
4:08 The workshops are pretty intense.
4:09 It's a lot of like in a good way.
4:11 These are like very open and honest conversations between the developers,
4:15 the players, the keepers and the insiders.
4:18 And that's what I truly love about it.
4:19 Like, no suggestion, like no discussion is left like unexplored.
4:27 It really matters to have that conversation with the devs.
4:31 Being able to actually talk to the developers themselves,
4:35 it's not just us giving feedback,
4:36 it's them also like coming back to us and saying,
4:39 these are the reasons we do this.
4:41 This is the reasons we don't do this.
4:42 And you know, even to the point where some
4:44 of the times we've even had where we were like,
4:47 you know, they'll go, what do you think about this?
4:48 And we're like, that's cool.
4:49 But, you know, it would be cooler if its like that?
4:51 And you watch their faces light up because it gives them that.
4:54 Like, you know, you could see the ideas
4:56 that they suddenly could have because they are like,
4:58 that's something that we might not have looked at.
5:01 My favorite moment from the last couple of years
5:05 is probably seeing how people at the studio,
5:09 developers evolved over time as well and grew with the project together,
5:14 If I could say one thing to the Skull and Bones community,
5:17 it would be have a little patience because the game is going to blow your mind.
5:22 Wow, there is so much coming.
5:26 I have goosebumps.
