a cozy day at home in minnesota

a cozy day at home in minnesota

Sydney Serena

0:00 Hey guys, it's Sid and welcome back.

0:09 I could not be happier to be back home in Minnesota.

0:12 I was also just reading so many comments about

0:14 how many of you guys love my Minnesota vlogs.

0:17 I can't even put into words how happy that makes me.

0:20 The fact that the feeling translates that I get when I'm home,

0:23 I just feel so peaceful, so happy.

0:25 I'm starting out my day a little different.

0:26 I have never taken a Pilates class here, but I was on [music] Tik Tok.

0:30 You know, here we go again.

0:32 It always goes back to Tik Tok.

0:33 And this Pilates studio that's new came up

0:35 on my for you page and it looked really fun.

0:37 So I booked class last night at 8:00 p.m.

0:39 As you guys know, I don't have a car in New York.

0:41 So being home and driving, it's a little frightening for me.

0:44 I just forget a little bit.

0:46 Don't be scared though.

0:47 Wow, don't fear that Please don't panic.

0:50 I'm really just saying that to myself.

1:05 [music] Guys, Pilates was so good.

1:08 I definitely am out of shape.

1:10 Um, it was so nice in there.

1:11 It was like such a nice studio.

1:12 The instructor was so sweet.

1:14 She even let me like film something after for my vlog

1:16 because I One of my pet peeves is I hate when

1:19 people say that they're going to do something in a vlog

1:21 and then they go do it and they don't show it.

1:23 It's like, then what's the point?

1:24 Don't even tell me.

1:25 You know what I mean?

1:26 I really want to go get coffee, but I'm not sure where to go.

1:30 I kind of been thinking of trying

1:31 somewhere new today because I'm in Minneapolis.

1:34 I also brought my book with me because I knew when I was home in Minnesota,

1:38 I'd have a lot more time to just do nothing.

1:40 And I've been dying to finish this book.

1:42 It's the former Coach CEO.

1:43 He wrote a book about growing Coach, like how he did it,

1:46 the business side of things, which I always find like super interesting.

1:49 And I love Coach, so this just like really appealed to me.

1:52 Yes, guys, I know what you're thinking.

1:55 What are you doing wearing this coat from 2016.

1:58 This is all I have.

1:59 Honestly, I have like no clothes here anymore.

2:01 So, it's either this or like my brother's jacket.

2:04 Coffee time.

2:06 Can we just take a second to appreciate my parallel parking?

2:10 [music]

2:10 Um this probably won't happen again for quite a while.

2:12 So, I'm just taking it in.

2:14 Dad, look at this, please.

2:16 Please.

2:16 Please watch this part closely.

2:18 My recent vlog strategy has been to act like I'm on a FaceTime call.

2:22 So, people don't know that I'm filming cuz I'm so scared.

2:26 Especially here, like people do not vlog or like do social media,

2:29 I feel like as much as in New York.

2:42 [music] Okay, guys.

2:41 I'm at Room Coffee.

2:42 I have my mini microphone and people are looking.

2:46 Anyways, I don't care, guys.

2:48 I don't care.

2:49 I saw on their menu that they have a banana bread latte,

2:51 which I thought looked fun and I asked the barista.

2:54 I always love asking the barista like

2:56 what they like and like what they recommend.

2:59 You know, they could say anything.

3:00 They could say the most disgusting drink and I'd probably trust them.

3:03 So, I don't know why that is, but she recommended the banana bread latte.

3:07 Taste test, I guess.

3:13 Ooh, this actually does taste like a banana bread in latte form.

3:18 Why am I speaking like I'm a food reviewer?

3:20 The cadence I'm I'm speaking [music] in is sounding like Food Network,

3:23 but I knew I could trust her and she didn't steer me wrong.

3:26 She didn't.

3:26 So, thank you to her.

3:27 I'm going to read a little bit.

3:28 It's such a sunny day out and that just like my mood is instantly boosted.

3:39 [music] I hope you guys don't mind that this is being heavily filmed in my car,

3:47 but well, it's actually my mom's car.

3:50 I need to stop into Ulta because I want to get this dry shampoo.

3:54 It's a K18 dry shampoo.

3:56 This is quite a revolution for me.

3:58 They sent it to me about a week and a half ago when I was in New

4:00 York and I used it and I was like so shocked at how well it worked.

4:04 My hair gets greasy very quickly.

4:06 Give it 6 hours, it's already a grease fest.

4:10 It's hard cuz I don't want to like wash my hair like twice a day.

4:13 Anyways, this dry shampoo is honestly like a miracle.

4:15 I cannot believe how well it works and I really want my mom to try it.

4:19 I need to have some here now.

4:20 I'm like addicted to this stuff.

4:22 I couldn't bring it on the plane with me here because I

4:24 packed a carry-on and it was like over the fluid ounce limit.

4:27 I'm going to go pick some up and I'm

4:28 not even wearing a jacket because it's so nice out.

4:32 Nice as in it's like 59, but that's good enough.

4:38 [music]

4:42 This actually used to be my home Ulta, the one that I would always go to.

4:45 So, it's always like nostalgic to go in there, but sadly they didn't have it.

4:49 I was a little sad about it, but then I decided to decompress, took a walk.

4:53 Um, it was so nice out and I like to get my steps in.

4:56 This feels so nostalgic right now.

4:58 We're back in my old kitchen.

4:59 If you watch my really old videos, um, you might recognize this.

5:03 My mom and I took a pasta making class in New York about a month

5:06 ago and about 30 minutes on the way home in the Uber after the class,

5:10 she already purchased a whole entire pasta making kit.

5:14 Now, we have everything that we could possibly need to make our own homemade

5:18 pasta and she's been waiting until I came home to do it with me.

5:22 She is being mysterious today.

5:24 She doesn't want to be on camera.

5:25 I'll be your assistant.

5:26 I'll pass you things.

5:31 [music] [music] [music]

5:46 Pasta making break.

5:48 I'm on another walk with my dog this time.

5:52 Rosie and my dad.

5:55 Yes, hello.

5:55 Getting out with Rosie that needs a walk for sure.

5:58 She does.

5:58 She loves her walks.

6:00 Anyways, Dad, did you know that we're making homemade pasta tonight?

6:03 No.

6:03 That's what we're making, me and Mom.

6:04 Oh, that's awesome.

6:05 So, are you excited?

6:06 I am.

6:07 And did you know that Rosie turns 10 this month?

6:10 No.

6:10 Back to the pasta, are you excited?

6:12 Yeah, definitely.

6:13 Do you think it's going to be good?

6:15 Do you think I'm a good cook?

6:17 Well,

6:20 [music] [music] [laughter]

6:30 Ew, I made a mistake, guys.

6:32 I only brought one poop bag instead of two.

6:34 And now my dad is carrying the dog.

6:37 She just went twice.

6:38 That's my mistake.

6:39 I didn't think she'd go more than once.

6:42 Dinner is served.

6:45 Looks great.

6:46 Really?

6:46 It is 2 hours later, so really hoping this was worth it.

6:50 Take a second bite.

6:52 I like thicker noodles personally, but it does taste pretty fresh.

6:55 Do you like it?

6:56 Yeah.

6:57 Success.

7:00 It's the next day.

7:00 I'm with my family.

7:02 Hi.

7:04 Hi.

7:03 Hi, guys.

7:05 [laughter] Oh my gosh.

7:06 We're about to go mini golfing.

7:09 Um it's one of our favorite family [music] activities.

7:12 I'm just predicting I'll be in first.

7:14 Sydney second.

7:16 Just a prediction.

7:18 We'll see what happens.

7:20 I guess.

7:21 Oh, it's my dad's birthday.

7:24 Yay.

7:23 Start with the guesses.

7:25 Start in the low 20s.

7:27 I didn't drive here.

7:28 I asked my mom to get out so I could come in the front and film.

7:30 That's what happened.

7:32 Is that rude?

7:33 No.

7:33 No.

7:34 Oh, a little bit.

7:35 I don't know why, but I love mini golf.

7:37 [music] And I'm actually kind of good at it.

7:39 Well, okay, that might be a stretch, but look, I have proof.

7:41 I did win and I was happy about it, you know?

7:45 I had to record it.

7:47 [music] I had to have proof.

7:47 Did I even go home if I didn't go to the Mall of America?

7:50 Probably not.

7:51 I love it here.

7:52 We walked around, went into some stores, went to Lush,

7:56 bought some things that I probably didn't need to buy and then

7:58 we went to my dad's birthday dinner at our favorite restaurant.

8:01 It's called Cedar and Stone.

8:02 Birthday dinner.

8:04 We're done with dinner.

8:05 Now we're having our wine.

8:07 And dessert.

8:07 And then dessert, yeah.

8:08 Dessert for dessert, so.

8:10 We got bread pudding.

8:11 I changed into this shirt in the bathroom.

8:13 Yeah, that was mandatory.

8:15 Otherwise they weren't going to allow her in the restaurant, so.

8:21 [music] [music] [music] [music]

8:39 Good morning, guys.

8:40 I slept in a little bit.

8:42 It's so hard for me to not sleep in here.

8:44 I'm starting off the morning going to one of my favorite coffee shops ever.

8:47 It's called Constellation Coffee.

8:49 I love it because they hire people with special

8:51 needs or disabilities and I just think that's so

8:53 special and I feel like those people really need

8:55 more opportunities [music] and sometimes aren't like given the opportunities.

8:58 So I'm about to go in.

8:59 I come here like a lot of the mornings.

9:02 Later today my brother and I are going to a concert.

9:05 It's actually his first concert ever and I told him I'd take him.

9:09 It's like one of his favorite artists, Morgan Wallen.

9:12 To be honest, I don't know anything about Morgan Wallen, zero.

9:15 But I wanted to go for my brother because he loves his music,

9:18 so it's kind of the plan, a busy fun day and then I just extended my trip.

9:23 So I'm staying here for a few more days this weekend.

9:26 This is the typical uniform, hoodie, sweats, Uggs.

9:34 [music] [music] [music] Feeling good.

9:48 It's sunny.

9:49 I just had my coffee [music] and I'm on my way

9:52 to get my dry shampoo that I couldn't find a couple days ago.

9:56 Hopefully they have it.

9:57 I'm going into the Sephora in Kohl's.

10:06 [music] Guys, they have it.

10:07 It's a good day.

10:08 It's actually No, it's a great day now.

10:14 [music] Gosh, my outfit.

10:22 What?

10:23 We are all ready for Morgan Wallen.

10:25 So excited.

10:27 So here's the thing.

10:28 I didn't know we were going to go to this and I didn't bring any outfits,

10:32 so I stole my brother's flannel.

10:35 Okay, [laughter] Ashton's outfit.

10:38 Okay, very Morgan Wallen.

10:40 Very nice, Ashton.

10:42 What How are you feeling?

10:43 Feeling good.

10:44 Ashton, you feel I'm excited.

10:46 Oh, me too.

10:47 Same.

10:47 Okay, my turn.

10:48 You stole my flannel, but that's okay.

10:50 T-shirt, jeans, you know, I tried.

10:52 I'm not really going to blend in very much, but I think it's good.

10:55 Yeah.

10:55 Thanks.

10:56 I was really here for the vibes, my brother and the food.

11:00 Um, never really been to a concert that I like don't know the artist that well,

11:03 but it was still really fun.

11:05 Hey guys, I'm back home from the concert.

11:07 I think it's like 12:30 now.

11:09 It was really fun.

11:10 I, you know, like I said, know nothing about Morgan Wallen,

11:15 but I did recognize a couple songs and it was

11:16 honestly just so fun to like spend time with my brother.

11:19 Living far away from my family, I think has really made me not take

11:22 for granted all the time that I have with them.

11:25 I just love my family.

11:26 I love my brother so much.

11:27 So I'm so glad that we got to do that.

11:29 Anyways, I'm getting ready for bed now.

11:31 I think my mom just texted me to be

11:32 quiet because she's trying to sleep above me.

11:35 Now that I'm a complete disco ball, I'm going to go to bed.

11:38 Night.
