The war just restarted.

0:04 the war with Iran and struck an Iranian port in the Persian Gulf.

0:09 The Straight of Hormuz is now fully closed as all traffic through

0:13 it has halted and the war seems to be ongoing once again.

0:18 The United Arab Emirates also took credit for some

0:21 strikes on the Iranian coast and you know, we're plunging back to step one.

0:25 There is no off-ramp for the United States beyond a humiliating

0:29 climb or a massive escalation fully back into the war.

0:34 It is a quagmire by all definition and we have blown past the four

0:38 to six week deadline that the Republicans laid

0:40 out and repeated over and over and over.

0:43 I want to show you the Fox News coverage

0:45 of this not because Fox News is the best news source,

0:48 but because they're even being, you know,

0:50 rather harsh on this series of events here.

0:52 So even beyond the 4 to 6 week timeline,

0:55 we were told that we had won this war decisively.

0:58 Donald Trump even made a grandiose announcement

1:00 saying the straight of hormuz was reopened.

1:03 He made like 15 posts in a row a few weeks back around the 4 to 6 week mark.

1:08 Now it's still going.

1:09 We're in week 10.

1:10 We're on month three.

1:12 We are tens and tens of billions of dollars into this.

1:14 Probably about like 75 billion.

1:16 I'd say 100 if I had to guess.

1:18 The conservatives say 50 billion, but I think that's a lie.

1:21 And even Fox News is pointing out the endless contradictions.

1:25 I've said this over and over, but many young people and many people your age

1:29 who are watching this have seen repeated headlines over

1:32 the past few decades of the United States going

1:34 to the Middle East and taking out the bad guy.

1:37 You know, we killed Saddam Hussein and all the neoonservatives say, "We've won.

1:41 Don't ask questions about this." But military successes or taking out the bad

1:45 guy doesn't automatically mean that we have made the world a more stable place.

1:50 And it definitely doesn't automatically mean that the war is won.

1:54 A war is won through extracting political concessions from your enemy.

1:57 Not just killing them over and over.

1:59 Yes, that's part of it, but extracting political concessions is the end goal.

2:03 And we've gotten zero concessions.

2:05 No concessions whatsoever.

2:07 If you're ever debating somebody who's saying we're winning this war,

2:10 just ask them what political concessions have we

2:13 gotten from Iran 60 days into this now,

2:15 like 70 days into this, because from where I stand,

2:18 things have only gotten worse.

2:19 They've only gained more regional control.

2:48 when the United Arab Emirates strike Iran.

2:50 When Iran strikes us and then we strike Iran.

2:55 President Donald Trump ordered a pause on Project Freedom

2:58 after 24 hours citing progress on a peace deal.

3:03 We've got to be joking.

3:04 So, Donald Trump started this new project, dubbing it Project Freedom, saying,

3:09 "We're going to open the straight and get ships

3:11 through it." Less than 24 hours after he opened it,

3:14 he immediately climbed down and deescalated

3:17 because they likely realized the risk profile

3:19 was way too high and this could totally reescalate and blow up the ceasefire,

3:24 just blow up the war entirely into uh into a crazy conflict once again.

3:29 So, he paused it and said, "No, no, no.

3:31 I'm pausing it because we're close to a peace deal.

3:34 About 24 hours after that, we strike them more.

3:38 US Central Command said American

3:40 forces successfully intercepted multiple Iranian

3:42 cruise missiles and drones targeting commercial ships earlier this week,

3:46 but reported zero damage to US flagged vessels.

3:50 You know, just yesterday I did a live

3:52 stream with Stephanie Rule from MSNBC/MS Now,

3:56 and she brought in one of their reporters,

3:58 Alex Tibet, who's been going from gas station to gas

4:01 station to gas station across the country just talking to Americans.

4:05 And what he said was really heartbreaking.

4:07 It really stuck with me.

4:08 So, I want to play this clip.

4:09 I'm going to zoom in on what they're saying because, you know,

4:12 I've really been thinking about this a lot over the past few days.

4:14 I understood this and people around me have struggled with this exact thing,

4:18 but hearing the tone in his voice, it sounded like he's really seen a lot

4:23 of beat down Americans because Americans are hurting.

4:26 Listen, you've got this this tale of two countries.

4:28 Do you feel like that's what you're hearing from people?

4:31 I've heard a lot of people tell me that they're cancelling vacations,

4:34 that they're uh making sure that if they do book plane tickets,

4:38 it's refundable because they they're not sure if they're actually going to be

4:41 able to afford the trip when it when it all is said and done.

4:45 Um, you know, I'm sure there's discretionary spending,

4:49 but I'm pretty sure there's some data that in the last couple of years,

4:52 most of the discretionary spending is being done

4:54 by the top five or 10% of society,

4:57 not not the the, you know, everyday uh, Americans.

5:03 And um yeah, it's just I I have to be honest with you, Steph.

5:08 It's sad, you know, talking to these people every day about I I didn't

5:14 eat today so that I could go and drive my mom to her doctor's appointment.

5:20 It's heartbreaking.

5:21 And it's every time I go out to the gas station,

5:23 you'll hear another one of those stories.

5:26 It's the country.

5:28 It's difficult to say the country is in a good place right now.

5:32 genuinely you can hear it in his voice that he's been

5:34 hearing the struggles of Americans and it's taking a toll on him.

5:38 So for just going back to the story so for Donald Trump to claim that we have

5:42 decisively won this war that the economy is

5:44 in an A++++ position when we're struggling with gas prices.

5:48 I mean my dad came up and visited for the day

5:51 with my dog and you know I missed my dog a lot.

5:54 I missed my dad a lot, of course,

5:55 but I he was telling me on the way up that he was struck.

5:59 He was super surprised by gas prices and he was like,

6:01 "Man, even in the Biden era, gas prices maybe got to like 385 for a week or so,

6:07 like maybe a few days, but it wasn't this bad.

6:10 This is painful for everybody.

6:11 This is painful for everybody.

6:12 I know.

6:13 Patrick Dehan from Gas Buddy says,

6:16 "Gas Buddy live ticking data shows the national average now at $457 a gallon.

6:23 Dude, Lord have mercy." While diesel is at a national average of $567,

6:29 so of course it might be higher, a little bit higher or lower where you are.

6:32 That's the average.

6:33 Both of these may represent a short-term top

6:36 as I expect prices could start declining into the weekend.

6:39 Watch the US Iran talks.

6:41 He tweeted this out at about 10:00 a.m.

6:43 this morning on Thursday and since then the talks have fallen apart.

6:47 There are more strikes and the fact that the United

6:50 States is trying to project strength on the global stage

6:52 while then saying that Iran striking us and us striking

6:55 them isn't a breaking of the ceasefire that is absurd.

6:59 So a US strike on Iran's Kashimpport in the Straight

7:02 of Hormuz and Bandar Abbas were reported Thursday with US

7:05 officials telling Fox News that this was neither a restart

7:08 of the war nor an end to the ceasefire.

7:11 I'm sorry, but I don't buy it.

7:13 You can't just lie to the American people about the terminology.

7:16 You can't just say that we've changed the regime.

7:18 You can't just say that there's a ceasefire and that we've won the war.

7:21 None of these words have meaning anymore if this is the case.

7:25 The regime is still the same.

7:26 The IRGC is deeply embedded in Iran.

7:28 We have not won the war.

7:29 It seems like they're striking us and we're striking them over and over.

7:32 And there's not a ceasefire.

7:34 There's not a peace deal.

7:35 Iranian forces launched multiple missiles, drones,

7:37 and small boats at the USX Trust and the USS Raphael Peralta on Thursday.

7:44 US forces intercepted.

7:45 They said unprovoked Iranian attacks.

7:47 But when they say unprovoked, were we breaking the ceasefire?

7:51 Were we trying to go through the straight when it's still closed?

7:54 I mean, this is an aimless and chaotic

7:56 war that is backfiring not only on Donald Trump,

7:59 but on everybody, on the entire globe.

8:01 And it's painful.

8:02 I know it's painful for a lot of the people watching as well.

8:04 We're going to continue to push back.

8:06 We're going to continue to break the MAGA narrative,
