Montreal bounces back to win Game 2 | TSN Postgame Hot Zone
TSN
0:00 Thank you, Jan.
0:01 Alongside Carlo Kolakavo, Frankie Karado, and our hockey insider Darren Drager.
0:04 And a couple themes continued for the Canadians tonight.
0:07 Their ability to win on the road
0:09 and the fact that they keep responding following losses.
0:12 They have yet to lose back-to-back games in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
0:15 And Frankie, they spent much of game one trailing.
0:18 Then they flipped the script in game two on route to a huge win in Buffalo.
0:21 There was a real hunger for the Montreal Canadiens in this game.
0:24 It started early and this was a puck possession masterclass for them.
0:28 They got right after the Buffalo Sabres
0:30 and completely flipped the script from what we
0:32 saw in game one where it's too hard to have to play from behind against Buffalo,
0:37 especially if you're going to make mistakes.
0:39 [music] And Montreal, they played a clean game.
0:42 They did exactly what they were supposed
0:43 to do and they capitalized on their chances.
0:46 And in game one, we saw Montreal [music] feed into the Buffalo Sabres game plan.
0:50 And in this game, it was Buffalo making some
0:52 mistakes early and Montreal taking full advantage of it.
0:56 And if you think of what Buffalo wants to do, they have a lot of [music] skill.
0:59 They have defensemen that want to get up in the play.
1:01 They want to have the puck.
1:03 Montreal had the puck.
1:04 Buffalo couldn't get to their game plan.
1:06 It was exactly what the Canadians needed to do and they did it.
1:09 You know, Frankie, throughout the playoffs, everyone talks about momentum.
1:12 Does it carry over from game to game?
1:13 And coming out of game one, a lot of people said,
1:16 you know, oh, Montreal can't play with the speed of Buffalo.
1:18 They're Buffalo's too big for them.
1:19 Well, credit to Montreal Canadian coaches.
1:21 They didn't panic.
1:22 They didn't They do what they did.
1:23 They've done what they've done all series, all all first round,
1:26 even all all all uh season where they just calmed things down with the group.
1:30 They went in, they reset, they refocused and they came out with a different
1:33 mindset and they focused on playing their own game.
1:36 And when they play their own game, they're really fun to watch.
1:38 Yeah.
1:38 I mean, Marty St.
1:39 Louis, we talked about that right after game one.
1:41 He said, "Look, I have to rewatch the game.
1:43 We'll make adjustments." So, you know,
1:44 they poured over the video and they prepared their team for game two tonight.
1:49 So going into game three, it's going to be easier video sessions.
1:53 I mean, they'll pay attention to the uh details,
1:55 but we know that there was a higher
1:57 level of urgency from Montreal's standpoint in this game.
2:00 And as Frankie said, it was also much cleaner.
2:02 And another big game for Alex New Hook,
2:04 who who makes it three nothing on his second goal of the night.
2:08 But the play begins 20 feet away.
2:11 And it's your opportunity to give some love to a fellow defenseman.
2:13 Yeah, Noah Dobson makes the play of the game for me because, you know,
2:16 it's a textbook defensive play in the in the in the playoffs where
2:19 you tell defenseman to sacrifice and take a hit to make a play.
2:23 Well, did he ever take a hit to make a play on this one because he goes back,
2:26 this is on the penalty kill.
2:27 He knows their guy's coming in on him.
2:29 He sacrifices body, makes a strong play,
2:31 and allows Montreal to go up the ice right at the end of that penalty kill.
2:34 And Jake Evans with an unbelievable pass to New
2:37 Hook who uses his incredible speed to beat the defenseman.
2:40 Already feeling pretty good about themselves
2:42 for scoring the first goal in the game
2:43 and scores a big one at a big time in the game.
2:46 It was two nothing and the allimp important next goal
2:49 in that game was three nothing for Montreal and it felt
2:52 like that was what allowed Montreal to continue to play
2:54 the rest of the game the way they wanted to play.
2:56 So hell of a play by Dobson on that one.
2:58 Yeah, I mean, Alex New Hook is obviously feeling it right now.
3:01 And I wonder if it just stems from his heroics
3:04 in game seven against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
3:07 I mean, we know that offensive players, forwards [music] especially, I mean,
3:11 you get a taste of that success,
3:13 it can breed into the next game, into the next series.
3:16 And this was a go-ahead goal scored by Alex
3:18 Newa below the goal line in game seven.
3:21 Everything on the line and yeah, it's a bit lucky, but it goes in the net.
3:26 It's a huge uh switch and and push for the Montreal
3:30 Canadians at that point and it's carried over into round two.
3:33 So, we'll see what's left.
3:34 Uh probably a lot, frankly, from Alex New Hook,
3:37 but probably Buffalo is looking a little closer at him now as well.
3:40 Well, and Alex New Hook is an important
3:42 player for this team for a couple reasons.
3:44 First of all, he's a Stanley Cup champion.
3:46 He brings valuable experience to a young
3:48 group that is going through this whole thing,
3:51 not for the first time, but they're still relatively fresh.
3:53 That's the first thing.
3:54 The second thing, we could all sit here and go
3:57 through who the top four forwards are on the Montreal Canadians.
3:59 It's Suzuki, Caulfield, Demi Doof, Slavovski.
4:03 Who's the next best forward?
4:04 You could make a very good point that it's Alex New Hook.
4:06 He's that next tier of forward.
4:09 So, it's really important that he contributes.
4:10 And to Drags and Carlos point, he absolutely has contributed in a big way.
4:15 You know, the final score makes it look pretty one-sided.
4:17 There were moments in this game though
4:18 that Buffalo was pushing and there are some
4:21 timely saves by Yakob Dobish that helped the Canadians earn a win in game two.
4:25 Speaking of which, let's hear now from the Canadians goalender who's new on SC.
4:29 Here's Yakob Dobish.
4:34 Good.
4:34 Um I feel like we play with more fire and uh with more
4:38 effort and I feel like we are getting used to the series.
4:42 Um, yeah.
4:44 So, we we're going to keep improving and uh excited to go back home.
4:48 See, they try to get under your skin a little bit in the second period.
4:51 Just How much fun do you have with that?
4:53 Seems you
4:54 uh No, I mean I don't think so.
4:58 Like I do my stuff.
5:01 I don't really focus on what they are saying or anything like that.
5:05 So, um personally, I didn't notice anything crazy tonight.
5:11 Was tonight?
5:12 Yeah, everyone was good.
5:13 Uh [clears throat] my ideas were really solid today.
5:15 So thankful for them and um yeah,
5:18 hopefully we'll play together as a team and uh defensively good uh on Sunday.
5:23 Yeah.
5:24 So
5:24 you talked about did you feel tonight it was more easy
5:27 for you to track the puck maybe less traffic in front of it?
5:34 Uh we I need to look at it.
5:36 I don't I mean I trust my DS.
5:38 Um definitely we improved some stuff from the last
5:42 game but uh uh yeah it was good.
5:44 Few chances were last time they the guys were talking too many rush chances.
5:49 You feel that they they got rid of Yeah.
5:52 Yeah.
5:52 Yeah.
5:52 I mean they are such a skilled team and uh
5:55 they have so many so much talent on that team.
5:57 So limiting them in a in a space and in rushes always helps.
6:02 Then um yeah, I feel like we improved a lot from the game one from myself,
6:07 the team, and uh we are looking to stay
6:10 hungry and um repeat the same thing on Sunday.
6:13 Looking at the heat,
6:14 well, it was Nick Suzuki adding the empty net,
6:17 his third goal of the playoff so far, and the Canadians captain is new on SC.
6:23 Uh there wasn't too many adjustments.
6:24 Uh just continuing to play our game, I think.
6:26 Uh you know, trusting the forche.
6:30 um you know playing man on man uh against them can
6:33 be tough but thought all the guys uh did a great
6:36 job of you know managing it and um making plays
6:40 and [snorts] I thought it was a great night for everyone.
6:43 You've been hit a lot I mean as a team but you still make the plays and how
6:47 does it what does it say about the you
6:49 know the the resilience of the of your [snorts] teammates?
6:52 Yeah I mean guys are willing to make a play
6:54 uh take a hit to make a play on news goal.
6:58 Dober gets blown up behind the net,
7:00 but still gets the the puck to Jake for uh you know,
7:02 the quick kind of two on two and uh
7:05 those are super important plays and um you know,
7:08 guys are you know playing really hard for each other.
7:11 What would you say about what brought for you guys tonight?
7:13 Yeah, I thought he was great um right from the start you know seemed uh you
7:18 know after that goal just continue to dominate
7:21 the whole game and u big on the PK.
7:23 Uh their line generated a lot five and five as well.
7:26 So, uh, big effort from those guys.
7:28 What makes Evan so easy to play with?
7:30 [snorts]
7:31 I think he's just super smart, knows, uh, you know,
7:34 knows his role, knows what he's he's doing out there for his teammates,
7:37 uh, trying to get, you know, his guys and, um,
7:42 the puck and, you know, going, you know, winning in dirty areas.
7:45 So, um, he's he's got to play with for sure.
7:47 Dope's a fiery D's a fiery guy.
7:49 Well, it's a huge night for Alex New Hook with a pair of goals.
7:52 He is now at the podium speaking to the media.
7:57 Question is for Alex.
7:58 Uh saw video of you doing the lineup read.
8:02 Looked pretty fired up.
8:03 Just uh what made you ready to put
8:05 in the type of performance that you put in today?
8:08 [snorts]
8:09 Yeah, I think uh I think as a group we knew we needed a big effort tonight.
8:12 Um you know, a bounce back, a bounce forward game and yeah,
8:16 when you get the lineup where you just try to supply some energy there
8:18 early and um just tried to carry that into the game and you know,
8:22 I think throughout the lineup um a lot of good games.
8:24 I think we were able to, you know,
8:26 roll through our lines and um deliver a pretty solid effort
8:29 and uh was a pretty big game here in game two.
8:33 Question for you, Alex.
8:34 Uh you were not used to play with the Jake Evans on your line.
8:38 How do you feel the the chemistry
8:39 start going and it was pretty successful tonight?
8:42 Why it was successful between you guys?
8:45 Yeah, I mean I think uh Jake Jake's a great player.
8:48 He plays the right way um on both sides of the puck and he's pretty predictable.
8:52 Well, I think, you know,
8:52 I've played with him um a little bit throughout uh throughout my time here,
8:56 and I think we always play pretty well together.
8:58 So, um it's fun.
8:59 We play together on the kill, too.
9:00 And um I think we found some chem chemistry here.
9:03 So, just got to keep that rolling.
9:06 What a couple of days it's been for Alex New Hook.
9:08 Uh earlier, we heard from Jakob Dobish.
9:10 I I liked how he was playing down the hole.
9:12 I'm not actually hearing what they're saying to me
9:13 with because there's a lot of conversations happening on the ice.
9:17 He's letting his play do the talking though in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
9:20 He's 4-0 after losses.
9:22 In those four wins, he's given up a combined six goals.
9:26 And again, didn't have to stand on his head tonight,
9:29 but he did what was the difference maker when the Sabres were pushing,
9:32 especially in that second period.
9:33 He's he's such a unique goalender and unique personality
9:36 because sometimes you see him go out of the net.
9:38 It can be a little bit of an adventure
9:40 and even with the way the scrums transpire,
9:43 sometimes some goalies want to get right out of it.
9:45 They want nothing to do with it.
9:46 He's right in the battle.
9:47 He's fiery and he's competitive and that helps a guy like Yakob
9:51 Dovish when you know the team needs a spark coming into this game.
9:55 They had that with the way they played but the goalender
9:58 is locked in and that is something that we
10:00 have been accustomed to for a few months now
10:02 for Yakob Dovish and the way this game shook out.
10:06 Montreal had the puck a lot.
10:07 The Buffalo Sabres did not get a chance to wear down Yakob Dovish.
10:12 It wasn't like he was spending 2 minutes of Dzone
10:14 time going up and down and side to side.
10:16 So, the team did their job, he did his job,
10:19 and chances are usually that is the recipe for a win uh in this game, too.
10:24 Especially,
10:25 what's really impressed me with Dobish, not just through this playoffs,
10:27 but throughout the whole season, if you watch them from the start of the season,
10:30 he got hot and then he got his first
10:32 loss and he got really emotional after that first loss.
10:35 And in the playoffs, your emotions can range from very high to very low,
10:39 especially against a series against the Tampa
10:41 Bay Lightning where he went seven games.
10:43 What I loved is you saw the maturity in his emotions.
10:45 He didn't let bad goals.
10:51 He could have done that instead.
10:55 So, what I what I really enjoyed watching not
10:57 just a great play that he's provided as a rookie,
10:59 but the maturity that you've seen in his game right from the start of the season
11:02 and and off ice are giving him the full experience, too.
11:05 I mean, you're talking about again a rookie goalender in the heat of the moment,
11:09 round two of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
11:11 Obviously, he has to be the best player on the ice
11:14 or one of the best players on the ice for the Canadians.
11:16 And they roll him out postgame no matter what.
11:19 And he stands in there and [clears throat] he answers all of the questions.
11:23 I mean, this is stuff that is going to just
11:27 round out his game on and off the ice moving forward.
11:29 It's interesting.
11:30 Through two games, we've seen both
11:31 sides really capitalize on their opportunities.
11:34 Obviously in game two it was the Canadians doing it and the narrative after
11:38 game one was Montreal's miscues leading to you
11:41 know a lot of chances for Buffalo.
11:42 You flipped that script and it was
11:44 a tough night especially for Buffalo's top line.
11:46 Yeah.
11:46 And all the talk coming in was Montreal needed more from their topline
11:49 guys cuz you know Buffalo's topline players showed up in game one.
11:52 Well it was a a comedy of mistakes from the Buffalo players that played
11:57 on the top line that really allowed Montreal to take over the game.
12:00 This is early in the game.
12:01 Payton Krebs, he blows a tire, turns the puck around,
12:04 and I love how Montreal goes right on the attack right away,
12:07 gets the big early first goal.
12:09 Then late in the period,
12:10 Ta Thompson at the end of the shift trying to do a little bit too much.
12:13 Great job by Kerier.
12:14 He goes full.
12:15 Alexander Ovetchkin barred down and in off the off the off wing.
12:19 Two goals by defenseman for the Montreal Canadians.
12:22 You know, a stellar effort defensively.
12:24 And again, this is a game where Montreal's best players
12:27 showed up even though it wasn't on the score sheet.
12:29 It's interesting with both of these teams because in game one,
12:31 Montreal made the mistakes, Buffalo Buffalo capitalizes.
12:34 Game two, Buffalo makes the mistake and the Habs capitalize.
12:38 What happens when both of these teams
12:40 go head-to-head and no one's making the mistakes?
12:43 Does it turn into does it turn into a chess match?
12:46 Is it highflying?
12:47 It's probably not going to be high-flying
12:48 because if there's no mistakes being made,
12:50 there's not going to be these crazy rush chances.
12:52 Again, it almost feels like with both these teams,
12:55 they're mirror images of each other.
12:58 And right now through two games,
13:00 one team has made the the vast majority of mistakes in each game.
13:03 And they're gaining production, you know,
13:05 near the bottom of their lineup when it's a tough night for the top line.
13:09 It's yet another good night for Zack Benson.
13:11 I mean, we keep talking about this young guy because he deserves it.
13:15 You know that when he's on the ice, he's going down swinging and sometimes
13:19 that's making a a creative offensive play.
13:22 Sometimes that's trying to get under the skin of the opponent.
13:25 And more often than not, he's in that agitating role.
13:28 And we saw that here in front of you after Dovish.
13:30 Sure, he gets mixed up.
13:31 [music] Look at Mat like grinding Zack Benson's head down towards the ice.
13:36 And he oversells it a [music] little bit like, "Oh jeez, something hurt my head.
13:39 Hit the ice." All of that stuff.
13:41 But the battle continues as the period wears on.
13:43 That's one versus two.
13:45 Montreal defenders trying to get out.
13:47 He sees an opening.
13:48 He goes to the post and he's there.
13:50 He's square.
13:51 He makes sure he's got his stick on the ice and scores a pretty big goal
13:55 and he's not leaving that celebration without giving
13:58 Yakab Dovish [music] an earful on his way by.
14:01 So he brings a little bit of everything which is
14:04 incredible when you look at that young guy's birth certificate
14:07 and if you know Buffalo again hasn't been in the playoffs you
14:10 know the last couple years last 15 years they win the Atlantic division
14:14 this year and I think there it's a lot of new for people
14:16 right who are the players on the Buffalo Sabres this is how you
14:19 make a name for yourself in the playoffs if you're Zack Benson you
14:22 go out and you play like that you score goals like that you
14:25 get into scrums like that now you start getting people's attention and you
14:28 can see he's embracing it he loves and we love to watch it.
14:32 Pretty good from a guy who hasn't hit his 21st birthday.
14:34 Yeah, that too.
14:35 Our reaction continues from Buffalo,
14:37 including from the Sabres head coach as Lindy Ruff is new on the scene.
14:46 As you looked at that game, what were the basic problems you felt your team had?
14:49 I thought our puck play was, you know,
14:53 I talked about things we needed to do better.
14:55 I thought our puck play in game one wasn't good enough.
14:59 I thought you look at the first goal against uh we have the puck,
15:04 it looked a lot like uh the goal we had that we scored against Montreal.
15:10 We could have moved the puck uh to our defenseman,
15:13 got going up ice, we hung on to it, we fell down,
15:15 we just we had I think three or four
15:19 of the goals were just the result of bad puck play.
15:23 Um you know, you can't beat yourself.
15:25 we beat ourselves and we know we have to be better.
15:29 That's what we said after game one.
15:31 It's my it's my job to make sure we get our minds in the right place and um
15:39 I think we could have made a big difference on on four of the goals at least.
15:47 Tage Thompson's head is at after Yeah, you know, I think he got frustrated.
15:51 I think he he was really trying to press and I think sometimes
15:56 when you're pressing it it didn't get any better tonight for him for sure.
16:00 Um you know when we're all in this together it's not about not about one guy.
16:06 He knows he needs to be better.
16:08 We have a lot of guys that know that their game has to be better.
16:12 Uh we're at one and one right now.
16:17 We're pretty well in the same place we
16:19 were last series and I said before game one,
16:24 this is going to be a very difficult series.
16:26 They just beat a heck of a team, um,
16:30 we need to we need to handle the puck better
16:35 and put it in the right spot at the right time.
16:38 Meanwhile, at the other end of things,
16:39 let's hear from the Canadian head coach, Martan St.
16:41 Louis.
16:44 Martin, sometimes we see after you lose game one,
16:47 the series gets away from a team because it just becomes too much to handle.
16:52 Um, even when you compare it to last year versus Washington,
16:55 was there a greater sense of maybe maturity and this is
16:58 a sign of that with your team right now?
16:59 Yeah, I think so.
17:00 I think it's something we built through failure, you know,
17:05 we've learned a lot from, you know, last year.
17:09 Um, and I think we've grown, you know, and I feel like, you know,
17:14 even the game one, you know, we lose the game,
17:16 the game didn't really get away from us.
17:18 We were still in it.
17:20 Uh, and we did things better tonight.
17:24 Uh, that, you know, doesn't necessarily guarantee anything,
17:27 but it raises a percentage to go get success.
17:30 Um, so, um, I'm proud of their response.
17:33 I'm not surprised.
17:35 Um, and you know, we're going to start over game three.
17:39 But, uh, you know, every game that's its own story.
17:42 Every series that's its own story,
17:44 and you just got to can't let events, um, you know, dictate the story.
17:51 You got to keep you just got to keep writing.
17:54 Rewrite it if you don't like it.
17:58 Marty, to your right, just down here.
18:00 Um, you mentioned maturity this morning about why you were confident your team
18:04 could come out and get a or put themselves in a position to win.
18:06 You just mentioned that it doesn't have an age.
18:08 I'm wondering when you first got hired, you said that, you know,
18:11 hockey IQ can be taught and a lot of things can be taught.
18:15 When you say maturity has no age.
18:16 Do you think maturity can be taught and how
18:18 did this group learn maturity despite being a young team?
18:23 Yeah, I mean I think everything can be taught.
18:26 I think you can if you really want to learn something, you work at it.
18:33 You can be taught, you know, but to me it always starts with the individual.
18:38 I think we're trying to steer them in the right direction.
18:40 I think we're we're a group that stays in control.
18:45 Uh and that's maturity, you know.
18:47 So, sometimes you get challenged.
18:52 you get challenged emotionally, you know,
18:55 and how do you know the maturity part is important and um
19:01 you know we have different opportunities to grow from these challenges and we've
19:08 done that you know so I'm uh it's I think it's part
19:11 of our growth or process maturity is a big part of it.
19:15 Joshua uh Marty just down here but um your goalender mean some goalies they
19:20 they stay completely out of everything they
19:21 skate to the corner when stuff happens.
19:23 Jakob was not that guy.
19:25 He trips guys.
19:26 He's he's in the middle of things sometimes.
19:27 What what allows him to be successful and still
19:30 be sort of so involved in the game at times.
19:32 Yeah.
19:33 I don't know.
19:33 I don't know.
19:35 I don't see everything.
19:38 But for me like he's you know he's he's a competitor.
19:42 You know that's that's all he's doing.
19:44 He's competing out there and but I feel
19:47 like he's doing that and he's being himself.
19:52 I don't overthink it.
19:54 Let him be.
19:55 Take three more.
19:57 Let it be.
19:58 He's not overselling that.
19:59 And I think that's a good position for Marty San Louie to take,
20:02 especially with Dobish, right?
20:04 You know, I mean, you're you're two games
20:06 in round two of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
20:08 He's coming off a very very good game,
20:10 but you know, just pump the brakes a little bit.
20:13 Let's see how the series evolves.
20:15 If the Canadians don't win tonight,
20:17 he's probably asked about Cole Coughfield for the 100th
20:19 time so far in the playoffs because he doesn't score,
20:22 has a glorious chance in the third period.
20:24 But are you are you glass half full that they're winning these games without
20:28 his production or glass half empty that eventually
20:31 is going to catch up to Montreal?
20:32 No glass half full because they're winning games without his production
20:36 and at some point he's just too good of a goal scorer.
20:38 Guy scored 51 goals this season.
20:40 He is going to produce.
20:41 But coming into this game, it looked to me that Cole Coughfield was playing how
20:46 do I get my shot off instead of playing hockey.
20:49 And in this game, it looked like he was
20:50 playing to play the game a little bit more.
20:53 Not just trying to find pockets of ice or little [music] spaces
20:56 where he could get a shot off where he becomes easily marked.
20:59 In this game, he was following up the play.
21:01 he was being in positions of support and he started
21:04 to get [music] a few more looks at the net.
21:06 There's still a little bit of this bobbling the puck and you
21:09 know free puck situations where he's not finding ways to execute.
21:13 He gets two shots [music] on goal in this game and then is going
21:15 to hit the crossbar but you start to get the sense that you can feel it.
21:19 It's coming for him and late in the third period
21:21 the Montreal Canadians get a power play and you start to think
21:24 it might not be a consequential goal in the game
21:27 but it would be a hugely consequential goal for Cole Cfield.
21:30 doesn't get it ends up ringing the crossbar,
21:32 but at some point a guy like this is going to find a way to break through,
21:36 especially when he's getting those looks at the net.
21:39 As we analyze this series so far, and it's still early.
21:41 I think what Marty just said, every game is its own story.
21:44 It kind of sums it up where both teams have won in similar fashion.
21:48 Does the edge maybe go to to Montreal because they get
21:51 the split on the road and they're going home with home ice?
21:53 Well, that's always the feeling as the road team to start
21:56 the series is you're going in, you're looking for a split because,
21:58 you know, you're going home ice and now you've you you've regained it.
22:01 Ben, you know, Montreal hasn't had great success
22:04 in the playoffs at home so far this season.
22:06 They probably want to change that and it's a good momentum boost for him.
22:09 I talked about momentum not being a thing in the playoffs, but for Montreal,
22:13 you got to feel really good about how you played tonight considering
22:16 all the negative stuff people were saying with you after game one.
22:19 And now you know in that bell center, you talked about it, drags,
22:22 it was deafening in Buffalo, it's going to be electric in Montreal.
22:25 The the pressure on both of these teams
22:28 in this series is to execute with the puck.
22:31 That's what it's going to come down to.
22:32 And yes, sometimes there's going to be other things at play,
22:35 but this series feels less about the tactics or the gamesmanship.
22:41 It feels more about who's going to be able to make plays
22:44 with the puck on their stick at the right time and not cough it up.
22:47 And there's pressure involved in that.
22:48 And for Montreal, they're going back home.
22:51 The fans are going to be crazy.
22:52 It's going to be loud.
22:53 Is it going to be jumpy with the puck on your stick or can you be overwhelming
22:58 for the Buffalo Sabres and they feel like
22:59 they're in a days playing at the Bell Center?
23:01 That's what you look forward to for next game.
23:03 And I feel like they've got to bring
23:05 that in a level of execution on home ice because there
23:09 is a trend that's been established for the Montreal
23:11 Canadians to this point through nine games of the postseason.
23:15 You win one, you lose one.
23:17 You win one, you lose one.
23:19 And that works well in a seven game series,
23:21 but you know, they lost the first one, they get the split.
23:24 So, if they can break that trend and win on home ice on Sunday,
23:27 maybe they've got something to work with.
23:28 Just like in the first round, they earned the split on the road.
23:31 They head to the Bell Center for game three where they now have home ice as they
23:34 earned their first playoff win over the Sabres
23:37 since their Stanley Cup run back in 1993.
