0:41 but it's an incredible '8s pop record that I got into.

0:49 time and it was definitely like one of my musical obsessions.

1:02 Wipeout the video game soundtrack um from the PlayStation one.

1:12 This is actually the original soundtrack by the video game composer,

1:16 not the other tracks from the game,

1:19 but the game is famously featured in Hackers,

1:23 which is one of my favorite movies of all time, early Angelina Jolie.

1:35 If you haven't seen it, it's a mustsea.

1:38 But yeah, having this soundtrack, iconic soundtrack,

1:42 very cool to find on CD and I think it just came out uh like last year.

1:54 Negative Land, it's an album I never heard of before by them,

1:59 it's kind of like punk sound collage is like the best way I could describe it.

2:47 that like years ago, the first time I heard it in a coffee shop,

2:54 "What the hell is this song?" Hang the sign up on the door.

3:07 with, but it was the only one I could find.

3:09 I'm excited to check it out.

3:10 This guy, David Frank,

3:12 co-wrote and produced Genie in a Bottle by Christina Aguilera.

3:17 And it's funny cuz yesterday we actually listened to it

3:19 in the car and I haven't listened to that song in like

3:23 since I was like an adult.

3:24 and it rips and the production's incredible.

3:26 And it's actually kind of cool how if you listen

3:29 to this the system like his production and writing style,

3:33 you hear it in that track.

3:43 My next selection is Judas Priest.

3:46 kind of a switch up from the other picks,

3:49 but the only thing better than Judas Priest is Judas Priest Live.

5:55 never say very well-known record honestly at this point but it

6:02 came out when I was probably in 8th grade like 2002 2003 and this was kind

6:09 of the first time I was introduced to any sort

6:12 of like modern psychedelic progressive type music also being

6:17 a fan of like at the drive-in and all

6:19 their previous works it's still a great record

6:22 to go back to so many layers is very psychedelic, very inspirational for me.

6:35 I picked a Philip K.

6:36 Dick book, A Scanner Darkly.

6:38 I love Philip K.

6:39 Dick and this is my one of my favorite ones,

6:40 but it is kind of like sort of the most

6:43 depressing one cuz a lot of the dialogue is based

6:45 off of like his conversations he had with his own

6:48 friends who died of like drug overdoses in the' 70s.

6:51 It's an interesting take on like the drug war and counterculture paranoia.

6:56 It's really good.

6:57 And you will cuz when he slaps the cuffs on you,

6:59 you'll know for sure when that day comes.

8:24 in the new age section and it has a lot of cool imagery on it which caught

8:30 my eye and it says parents choice award winner.

8:36 This recording causes a heightened state of peacefulness.

9:11 The best part about this movie honestly is a sort

9:13 of like the real like it's there is a love

9:17 story in it with this like blinds woman that falls

9:20 in love with the criminal but the real love

9:23 story seems to be between the criminal and the cop

9:26 that have to like work together in the movie

9:27 and there is this sort of like hidden homoerotic overtone

9:31 to it that just kind of adds to the action.

9:34 It's classic.

9:42 picked this Mark Garson record and like people

9:45 probably know him cuz of the Plantasia record.

9:51 Mother Earth's Plantasia,

9:53 warm earth music for plants and the people who love them.

9:56 All his music's incredible.

9:58 like amazing early synth stuff.

10:01 And I love that he was super

10:03 into the occult and all this like weird esoteric stuff.

10:06 He has that great astrology record.

10:10 And uh this one's really cool, too.

10:13 It's like creepy synth sounds dealing with again all different

10:18 kinds of esoteric new age uh you know, occult uh concepts.

10:33 So, this is my last pick.

10:35 I saved the best for last.

10:37 Death, The Sound of Perseverance, their final studio record, RIP Chuck.

10:43 I'm from Florida and I spend a lot of time in Central Florida.

10:48 So, this band is very important to a lot of people there and just

10:53 such an important band in terms of metal music uh and the direction that it,

10:58 you know, kicked off in the early '9s, that whole Florida scene.

11:02 This is probably my favorite of theirs.

11:04 Controversial opinion, but uh I just love how it sounds.

11:09 It's more sleek than a lot of the other

11:11 records and it's unfortunate that, you know,

11:14 that was kind of it from them after Chuck passed away.

11:17 So, uh, at least we're left with[ __]

11:20 incredible music that still stands the test of time,

11:33 an Apex Twin single of Digy Do,

11:37 which is like one of the first AX Twin songs I really loved,

11:40 which apparently Apex Twin was involved in these parties

11:44 that were being ruined by like hippie Wook jugglers or something.

11:49 So he wrote this song to like make them

11:52 dance so hard they would like leave early or something.

11:55 Like he wanted to write something like for them, you know,

11:57 to like make sure they didn't like ruin the party they were throwing.
