Israel's GAZA Approach To Lebanon Revealed

Israel's GAZA Approach To Lebanon Revealed

Breaking Points

0:00 Turning now to Israel, just checking in on what's going on there.

0:03 Don't forget that we started this entire thing with the Iran war.

0:06 So, who's ascendant right now in Israeli society?

0:09 Here we have uh Itmar Ben Gave.

0:12 Let's go and put this up here on the screen.

0:14 Israel's national security minister.

0:16 He was presented by his wife for his 50th birthday,

0:19 a cake on which you can actually see a noose, a gallows.

0:24 Uh so that's how they celebrate uh in that family.

0:28 Seems really healthy.

0:29 definitely a reflection of a very loving marriage

0:32 and of the values that you would want to inculcate.

0:34 Yeah.

0:34 And this is this is specifically in honor of his successful ability

0:39 to get past the law that sentences all Palestinian I mean they're effectively,

0:44 you know, hostages in this um sham uh system where they

0:48 have no hope of being exonerated even if they committed no crimes.

0:51 But they all get sentenced to the death penalty.

0:53 Do you know Jewish Israelis get sentenced

0:55 to the death penalty for similar quote unquote terroristic crimes?

0:57 No, they do not.

0:58 So that's what this cake is celebrating.

1:00 So it's not just the spirit, there is a substance.

1:03 There is a death cult substance behind it.

1:06 And um you'd be hardressed to think

1:08 of a more openly genocidal society than the modern-day Israel.

1:14 I just think it's crazy that I mean, look,

1:17 I don't think all Israelis even necessarily agree with this.

1:20 I think that, you know, there's probably a decent number who' be horrified,

1:24 but what I find crazy is that this does not lead to uh this does not lead

1:30 to any sort of like open reflection cuz

1:33 even if you were going to have this ideology,

1:35 this type of celebration, wouldn't you want to hide it a little bit?

1:38 Like would you want really to telegraph it?

1:40 I think you know to everybody about your open like intent.

1:44 It's just nuts, I think, broadly.

1:46 So let's go to C2 because this is how

1:49 that connects with what's actually happening on the ground.

1:52 Lebanon, remember Israel,

1:54 this is from the New York Times actually did a very good job here.

1:56 They say Israel said it's applying the Gaza model in Lebanon.

2:00 This is what the devastation like.

2:01 So they had some drone footage and cameras

2:03 that actually went through these different Lebanese areas.

2:06 And the reason why I think this is so important is that with Lebanon,

2:11 there's no even similar pretext like there was with there was no October 7th.

2:15 there were rockets that were fired by Hezbollah.

2:18 So, Israel comes in to nor uh into uh southern Lebanon and basically says,

2:23 "Okay, everybody below the Latani River,

2:26 you've all got to go basically indefinitely.

2:29 We will not allow anybody to stay.

2:31 We're going to demolish everything in that area." Applying the Gaza playbook,

2:34 but for a very, very different incident.

2:36 And remember, this is not even in I mean,

2:38 I guess you could call Gaza disputed territory.

2:40 This is this is a sovereign nation.

2:42 They just invaded it.

2:43 basically took it over,

2:44 destroyed a decent portion of all of it and said, "Yeah, we're here now.

2:48 We're going to stay for as long as we

2:50 need to for you what I a security perimeter.

2:53 They've even declared that they won't even allow people, you know,

2:55 to build homes uh in in the south

2:58 near within rocket firing range." And you're like,

3:00 "Okay." And all of this with the tacit

3:03 and basically open uh support of the United States.

3:07 So this was nearly a million people or so

3:10 that are seem to have been affected by this or could

3:13 be affected in the long enough run which definitely tens

3:16 of thousands in the immediate term with many of these villages.

3:19 Hundreds of people were killed.

3:21 Beirut itself many of it were much of it was bombed.

3:24 They said they were targeting all of this infrastructure.

3:27 But it's the same playbook as what happened in Gaza.

3:31 And yet this time it's not even nearly as much outrage when in my opinion, look,

3:35 I actually think it might be more outrageous because

3:37 you have this precipitating event of Hezbollah firing rockets.

3:42 Okay, you can strike them from air.

3:43 They're like, "No, we're going to invade.

3:45 We're going to demolish." They had those photos

3:48 that came out of the guy beating the Jesus statue.

3:51 I mean, you know what was it the Shia thing?

3:54 I forget off the top of my head.

3:56 They uh they warned Christians not to hide Shia Muslims.

3:59 They were like openingly telling like, "Hey, anybody who's Shia,

4:02 they got to go." Like, "Hey, you're not allowed to hide any Shia." You're like,

4:06 "What the hell?" You know, I mean,

4:08 this is o out in the open in terms of how they're acting.

4:11 Oh, and just so you guys know,

4:12 the initial buffer zone, oh, then they would expand it.

4:15 And then they would expand it even more.

4:17 And they basically have openly said, "We're not leaving." Like,

4:20 "We're not leaving period." And then, you know, I don't know, we all go,

4:24 everyone in Washington goes crazy over this crazy

4:27 idea that maybe we should tell them like, hey,

4:29 maybe stop doing that because it's actually creating

4:32 more problems in terms of our ceasefire with Iran.

4:35 So, yeah, I I I don't know.

4:37 I you put it all together.

4:38 You can just see how this has now been normalized beyond just Gaza,

4:42 how it's already creating major problems here for America.

4:45 And I mean, do you really think they're going to stop?

4:47 They they haven't even stopped in the middle of the ceasefire.

4:50 Dozens of people were killed in air strikes and conffligration.

4:53 So, if this doesn't completely end,

4:56 then how are we ever going to get some sort of a settlement in the future?

4:58 And this is just how they are now.

5:00 They're open.

5:01 They're emboldened by this and they're just going to continue doing this until

5:05 we just tell them to stop and we just won't do it.

5:07 I don't get it.

5:08 That's absolutely the case.

5:09 And to your point about um the targeting of of Shia Muslims there,

5:13 the predominantly Christian villages have been damaged,

5:16 but not nearly to the extent of the devastation

5:19 of the Shia Muslim dominant villages which have just been utterly decimated.

5:23 And in the video that we were showing you earlier from the New York Times,

5:27 one of the images was of them destroying these solar panels.

5:31 And you might think, well, why is that significant?

5:33 It's because Israel, of course, they claim,

5:35 and the New York Times, you know, credibly reprints this stuff, too.

5:38 even in this article which did important journalistic work.

5:41 Oh well, they claim they're targeting Hezbollah infrastructure.

5:44 Please tell me how freaking solar panels that just provide electricity to a town

5:51 could possibly be quote unquote Hezbollah infrastructure.

5:54 And it and so once they were called

5:56 out and that oh we're going to discipline them.

5:58 Oh, this isn't how we operate.

6:00 We can all see the images of the way that you

6:03 are applying the very same Gaza model now to Lebanon.

6:07 And it's clear why because they got away with it in Gaza.

6:09 Not only did they get away with it, they're still getting away with it in Gaza.

6:14 So they, you know, rightfully think there

6:16 are going to be no consequences for this.

6:18 We can do what we want.

6:20 Now, I will say, uh,

6:21 Hezbollah has proven to be more dangerous and tenacious than they expected.

6:27 Um, they have these fiber optic drones that have been used to, um,

6:31 you know, significant effect against the IDF.

6:33 the IDF has not been able to advance all

6:36 the way to the Latani River in all sections, which had been the original goal.

6:40 Um, when we talked to Shyel last week,

6:42 he was talking about how they're kind of like pinned down in this one area,

6:46 and they can't really advance, but they're not being allowed to retreat.

6:49 So, in some ways, they're kind of sitting ducks for um for Hezbollah forces,

6:53 which is why they've sustained some significant damage.

6:57 Casualties.

6:57 Yeah, they have had some s, you know, significant casualty numbers.

7:00 But in any case, back to the point about Gaza and how they got away with it.

7:05 Well, now they're publishing new maps and creating every day new realities

7:10 on the ground where they now control 23 of the Gaza Strip.

7:15 Uh let's go ahead and take a listen to this report.

7:18 Um I believe is this Reuters?

7:19 Yeah, this is a Reuters report about how Israel

7:22 has expanded control now to 23 of the Gaza Strip.

7:26 Israel has quietly been expanding its control of Gaza.

7:29 It has sent new maps to aid groups,

7:31 sources said, which have not been released publicly.

7:34 The latest version shows a freshly restricted

7:36 area marked out with an orange line.

7:39 It extends beyond the yellow line zone occupied

7:41 by Israeli troops agreed in the US brokered October ceasefire.

7:45 Reuters acquired the maps and shared them

7:47 with Palestinian researchers in the occupied West Bank.

7:50 Jad Isaac, who heads up the Applied Research Institute, Jerusalem,

7:54 says the new line shows Israel now controls nearly twothirds of Gaza.

7:58 The Israel says the orange line sets out a restricted zone

8:02 where aid groups must coordinate their movements with the military.

8:06 It's to enable quote humanitarian activity while

8:09 safeguarding personnel in a complex operational environment.

8:12 According to Kogat, the Israeli military agency that controls access to Gaza.

8:17 But thousands of Gazan families are now caught between the lines.

8:21 Residents say they lack water and other supplies

8:23 because aid groups are scared to send staff there.

8:26 At least three Palestinians working with foreign aid

8:29 groups have been killed in the new restricted zone.

8:32 Israel's military said it had opened fire

8:34 after identifying threats near the yellow line.

8:38 Oshawa says residents are also regularly being killed and wounded in the area.

8:43 He says they aren't given warning when the line shifts.

8:46 According to Kogat, the Orange Line

8:48 boundaries are updated according to operational assessments.

8:52 It declined to comment on the frequency of updates

8:54 or whether it communicates them to Palestinian civilians.

8:58 And if you read or see videos of day-to-day life for Palestinians in Gaza,

9:04 it's just absolutely horrifying.

9:05 I mean, you can imagine, right?

9:07 You've had all of these years

9:08 at this point of bombing and destruction and attacking,

9:13 you know, wastewater treatment plants and any sort of basic infrastructure.

9:17 So, you have rats that are running rampant.

9:19 You have disease that is spreading.

9:21 It's just absolutely miserable.

9:23 People have been living in these tents for god knows how long.

9:25 Have been displaced so many times.

9:27 These poor children.

9:28 It's just absolutely horrifying.

9:30 I wanted to read a little bit of what

9:31 um Shyel put out actually on Twitter this morning.

9:34 He says Israel's planning its operation to finish the genocide in Gaza.

9:38 The pretext is that Hamas is rebuilding and will not disarm.

9:41 Of course, Israel refused to negotiate sincerely over

9:44 the future of Gaza process which would involve that discussion.

9:47 He goes on in terms of, you know, making his case why he thinks they're getting

9:51 ready to go back to this more aggressive offensive.

9:54 He says there are currently six brigades operating in Gaza.

9:56 Troop rotations indicate preparations for a prolonged intensive presence.

10:01 The paratroopers brigade is set to replace

10:03 a reserve brigade and the 25th brigade known as the Iron Fist recently completed

10:07 its sixth combat rotation since the war began.

10:11 So he sees all the indications that that is

10:13 the direction that they are heading in.

10:16 And um you know I as the world moves

10:19 on is focused on Iran is now focused somewhat on Lebanon

10:22 they continue the killing they continue to seize more territory

10:26 and Palestinians in Gaza continue to suffer in absolutely miserable conditions.

10:30 But to Shael's point, Zagreer, you know,

10:32 when that original ceasefire deal was struck,

10:36 those more difficult questions about disarmament

10:39 and what the future would look like, they were pushed off to the next phase,

10:42 the board of peace and there was supposed to be negotiations over what

10:46 that next phase look and that just never happened.

10:48 So, Israel is able to effectively do whatever they feel like, right?

10:51 And the re and why even spend time on this because

10:54 this is going to dramatically affect the situation with Iran.

10:56 If you are Iran, I mean, this is honestly even the current ceasefire.

11:01 I still don't really get it from their perspective at all.

11:04 But this is evidence where you can see in the very

11:07 near term of how the US and Israel have

11:10 conducted themselves whenever they sign a peace deal and they

11:12 say they're not going to do X, Y, and Z.

11:14 This is probably part of the reason why they're going so hard

11:16 in their current negotiations and they're

11:18 not buckling because they can see directly.

11:20 They're like, "Hey, we really can't take these people's

11:22 word for it unless we have it explicitly in writing.

11:24 And even then, we need immediate like steps to make sure

11:28 that they can't restart hostilities against us if they were to want to.

11:32 So, I think, you know, putting this stuff all together is

11:35 important because these actions between Gaza, Lebanon,

11:39 and others are having a direct follow-on effect on how

11:42 the Iranians are negotiating with the United States and with Israel,

11:45 obviously, because they're counterparty to this." You know,

11:48 we do want to also shout out the level

11:51 of derangement uh here in the United States.

11:54 So, let's go to the next one.

11:56 This is the US ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabe.

11:59 He did a long screed against uh the New York Times,

12:03 and Tucker Carlson, who recently put out like a 2-hour podcast.

12:08 In it, he says, "Tucker accused me of advocating

12:10 for killing of children and civilians, asked to respond.

12:13 I sent the following for the New York Times.

12:15 Poor Tucker needs help.

12:16 He's clearly circling the drain by saying something so outrageous.

12:19 No sane person advocates for the murder of children or civilians.

12:22 Even the allegation is sick and evil.

12:24 Tucker limits his compassion to the unfortunate souls who have died in Gaza.

12:27 As a result, Yep.

12:29 of the result of the stubborn good, good, great call.

12:32 Of the stubbornness of Hamas to release hostages who murder

12:34 their own citizens and intentionally put them in front of military assets.

12:38 One never hears Tucker lament the massacre and mutilation of,2,200 women,

12:42 babies, and elderly people butchered by Hamas on October 7th,

12:45 or the torture, rape,

12:46 and starvation of the 251 hostages taken and held by Hamas.

12:49 I am heartbroken by the slaughter of innocent

12:51 civilians wherever they are, whoever they are.

12:53 Tucker's irrational hatred of Jews in general in Israel in particular binds

12:58 him to the horrific savagery inflicted upon the victims of October 7th,

13:02 including the rape of women in front of their children,

13:04 the beheading of babies in the presence of their mothers or setting

13:07 fire to elderly people who sat in wheelchairs and were burned alive.

13:10 All of which were captured on video taken

13:12 by Hamas terrorists who were so proud of their despicable

13:15 acts that they wore GoPro cameras to record it

13:17 as if they were taking movies of a dance recital.

13:20 Okay, so taking that all in totality uh and you know the highlighted

13:24 portion uh which was uh put out in a in kind of a debunking

13:28 on Twitter and this is always uncomfortable because this idea that we're going

13:32 to sit here and say that 1,200 people didn't die on October 7th is ridiculous.

13:36 No one's going to say that it was literally on video much of it was published.

13:40 They were massacred, slaughtered many of them.

13:42 Uh now there's some other stuff that happened on that day as well

13:45 in terms of the failures of the Israeli military and then their own actions.

13:48 But let's even put that all to the side.

13:50 Many civilians were killed horrifically on October 7th.

13:53 However, many of the claims that they have made had, you know,

13:57 in the initial days of the war did not hold up to scrutiny.

14:00 And for this, you have to look no further than Israeli media.

14:05 That's why, you know, I don't even cite necessarily dropside and R.

14:08 Not that I don't love those guys,

14:09 but when I have to get into this argument with people who will often give me,

14:13 you know, these similar lines, I go, "Listen, Harets did the did the work.

14:17 there's no evidence, right?

14:18 Especially in the beheaded babies,

14:20 that was probably the most like cited claim uh

14:24 in the initial days of the war of barbarism.

14:26 And there's plenty of other things uh that you could

14:28 have also picked to which are true by the way.

14:30 Uh but on that particular one,

14:32 like Harets and others in the Israeli media went through systematically.

14:36 Now people say, why do you spend so much time doing this?

14:39 Well, like in this particular case, let's say with Huckabe,

14:42 like you were justifying war, for example,

14:45 let's say actions of the Israeli military in Gaza,

14:48 specifically on the basis of many of these types of claims.

14:52 All you have to do is point to the acknowledge and real evidence,

14:56 I think, of what happened on October 7th, which is plenty enough.

14:59 I don't think it justifies their response, but this just demonstrates, I think,

15:04 the level of which they have to resort

15:06 to to also point fingers at their ideological enemies, right?

15:11 Yes.

15:11 Um I mean, yeah, it feels really gross to do this, but just as a point of fact,

15:15 um there were no babies beheaded.

15:16 None.

15:17 There were none baked in ovens there.

15:18 The uh the claim that has been made that Hamas used uh rape as a weapon of war,

15:26 that claim has not been substantiated.

15:28 Um what has been substantiated is the way Israel uses rape as a weapon of war.

15:34 But funny I haven't heard um Mike Huckabby speak out about that of which

15:37 we have far more evidence and proof from our great ally Israel.

15:42 And um there's a very specific reason why

15:46 these claims were pushed in the wake of October 7th.

15:49 And um Adam Johnson just published a book, How to Sell a Genocide,

15:53 uh which focus in in specifically on liberal

15:56 media and the role that they played,

15:59 the New York Times in particular, but New York Times, CNN, MSNBC,

16:03 all of them in con buying enough time for Biden

16:07 and for Netanyahu to conduct this ethnic cleansing and genocidal campaign.

16:13 And one of the very early efforts that was

16:16 made was to portray Palestinians in general, Hamas specifically,

16:21 as these absolute barbarians that you could never have a ceasefire with, you

16:25 could never have a peace deal with, that it's just absolutely impossible.

16:29 And so that's why they invented these very specific

16:32 claims about rape used systematically as a weapon of war,

16:36 about beheaded babies, about baking babies in ovens, etc.

16:41 That is the reason they wanted to portray them as these bloodthirsty maniacs,

16:47 animals as the Israelis were describing them,

16:50 in order to justify what they knew was going to be

16:53 a a horrific campaign of war crime after war crime.

16:58 So to hear him still at this late date after this has been thoroughly debunked,

17:03 I mean, the beheaded babies thing is just like not true at all.

17:07 In fact, and again, I hate to say that there

17:09 was one baby that was killed on October 7th.

17:11 That's horrific.

17:12 One baby is horrific enough, right?

17:14 There were not dozens who were even killed, let alone none of them beheaded.

17:17 So, in any case, just disgusting to see these lies and propaganda,

17:22 atrocity propaganda,

17:23 continuing to be pushed by a significant American official who he and his staff

17:28 have exercised a lot of influence

17:30 apparently within the Trump administration as well.
