MINDFLEX: The Toy That Gives You "Superpowers"

MINDFLEX: The Toy That Gives You "Superpowers"

Kurtis Conner

0:00 Thanks to Rocket Money for sponsoring today's video.

0:02 More about them later, folks.

0:04 Is there an appropriate age to stop watching Spongebob Squarepants?

0:08 Yeah, I didn't think so either.

0:09 I feel like I was watching Spongebob way later than all of my other friends.

0:13 Like well into high school, I was watching episodes of Spongebob.

0:16 And this was before streaming services.

0:18 So I had to watch episodes of Spongebob the oldfashioned way.

0:21 I had to wait patiently until they aired episodes on YTV,

0:25 aka Youth Television, aka the Canadian version of Nickelodeon.

0:29 And since I was watching a show made for children

0:32 on a channel made for children in my teenage years,

0:35 I would still frequently see commercials that were marketed towards children.

0:39 I'd see a few toy commercials and just scoff at them, you know.

0:42 But there were a few toy commercials back then.

0:44 That straight up made me go, "Ah, damn,

0:46 that actually looks sick as fuck." But, you know, me being like 14 at the time,

0:50 I had to lock in and be like,

0:51 "I'm way too old for that shit." Anyways, back to my homework.

0:56 There are so many of these old toy commercials absolutely burned into my brain.

1:01 The Fushigi,

1:04 which I already made a video about a few years ago.

1:06 Dude, another toy commercial I vividly remember for some reason was Baby Alive.

1:11 Baby Alive, a baby,

1:13 which is a crazy name for it cuz that just Why do you have to specify?

1:17 They never advertise their dead babies.

1:18 I never wanted Baby Alive, you know,

1:20 but for some reason YTV aired the absolute[ __] out of this commercial, dude.

1:26 Baby Alive is so real that you can feed her.

1:28 Give her a bottle.

1:29 Uh-oh.

1:30 I made it.

1:32 And then she leaves an uh-oh in her diaper.

1:38 Disgusting.

1:37 A doll that shits and pisses in its diaper.

1:40 Bro, that's disgusting.

1:41 Why would you want that?

1:42 Yeah.

1:42 Mom, can I have the doll that shits for Christmas?

1:45 I feel like that's a little too realistic, right?

1:47 Too much realism is bad, I think.

1:49 Oops, you neglected your baby and now CPS has taken him away to foster care.

1:53 Try to avoid max jail time by pleading insanity in your court hearing.

1:57 Uh-oh.

1:57 The jury sees right through your lie and you're sentenced to 20 years in prison.

2:01 They'll never take you alive.

2:03 Escape.

2:04 You can run.

2:04 Run faster.

2:06 Dude, I could list old toy commercials for days.

2:08 Elephant looked awesome as hell.

2:10 Bullseye ball seemed like an absolute blast.

2:12 I have so many vivid memories of these toy products I never got to try.

2:16 But one in particular has always perplexed me way more than the others.

2:19 Like to this day, I still don't believe this toy is a real thing that works.

2:23 And I am of course talking about Mind Flex.

2:26 If I describe Mind Flex to you right now, you straight up will not believe me.

2:30 So, let's just watch the commercial.

2:32 Mind Flex lets you move a ball with the power of your mind.

2:35 We wanted to see how people react to playing Mind Flex for the very first time.

2:39 Awesome.

2:39 Mindblowing.

2:40 A wireless headset transmits your level of brain activity to the console.

2:44 The more you concentrate, the higher the ball rises.

2:46 Mine Flex is the obstacle course game

2:48 you can customize in hundreds of combinations.

2:51 Go, go, go.

2:54 Can you conquer Mindflex?

2:56 This is the future of games right here.

2:58 Mine Flex game comes as you see here.

3:00 Batteries not included.

3:01 A game that gives you legit[ __] superpowers.

3:03 Are you kidding me, dude?

3:04 This compared to the doll that shits its pants.

3:07 No competition.

3:07 I'm so blown away by this I might[ __] my pants.

3:11 For obvious reasons, every time I saw this commercial,

3:14 I had the urge to run to Toys R Us and buy it,

3:17 or at the very least throw it on my Christmas list.

3:20 But sadly, I never did because Mine Flex was released in the fall of 2009,

3:24 which was the exact time I started high school.

3:27 And if my classmates ever found out I had a toy like this, oh man,

3:32 they would call me names I don't think that they were allowed to say.

3:35 Okay, Mindflex has always fascinated me.

3:37 It's always just kind of been in the back of my mind because,

3:40 as some of you know, I went through a a small wannabe magician phase.

3:44 I became obsessed with Chris Angel because

3:47 I legit thought he had actual superpowers.

3:49 So, Mind Flex essentially promising the ability to perform telekinesis.

3:54 All of that was very intriguing to a young Kurt.

3:57 Also, as a person with testicles, I've spent my whole life moving balls around.

4:02 Huh.

4:02 Never with my mind, though.

4:03 That'd be awesome.

4:03 That actually be huge if I ever got BSTL.

4:05 I could just go and then I'm chilling, right?

4:08 That's huge.

4:09 For the sackless people out there, BSTL stands for balls stuck to leg.

4:13 So that happens sometimes.

4:14 And when I was a kid, we used to call that bat wings.

4:16 The stretched skin of the scrotum.

4:18 Looks like about bats wings.

4:20 Isn't that disgusting?

4:21 Anyways, I never actually got to try Mine Flex because sadly,

4:24 you know, I just thought I was too old for it.

4:26 But now that I'm the oldest I've ever been,

4:28 I feel like it's time that I finally try it out.

4:31 That's right, guys.

4:36 Yeah, it turns out these are actually like super easy to get your hands on.

4:39 I was fully prepared for a video gear command center type expedition,

4:44 but all you really have to do is just go on eBay and buy one of the many,

4:47 many Mind Flexes available on there.

4:49 Not a good sign that everybody's getting rid of these, but I

4:51 know you're probably all thinking, how does it work?

4:52 And I'm wondering the same thing.

4:54 So, I feel like before I give this a go,

4:55 we should really learn what it actually is and how it works.

5:00 I also just realized that this is the Toys R Us variation.

5:03 Most of them they don't have this little Toys

5:04 R Us stamp on selling this for a million bucks.

5:06 That's the real Mind Flex.

5:07 But on the back it says, "Move a ball with the power of your mind.

5:11 Just put on the headset,

5:12 then put your brain power to the test." Dude is[ __] locked in.

5:15 Holy crap.

5:16 Utilizing advanced mind flex technology,

5:18 the wireless headset reads your brain wave activity.

5:21 Concentrate and the ball rises on a cushion of air.

5:24 Relax and the ball descends.

5:26 Your objective.

5:27 Navigate the ball through a mind-bending obstacle course as quickly as you can,

5:30 traveling up and down by using the power of your thoughts

5:33 and right or left by turn turning the control knob.

5:36 Up to four players can compete in five challenging game modes.

5:38 Okay, that's cool.

5:39 It says you get one console, one headset, four balls,

5:42 three ring towers, five rings, two maze cages, six maze panels,

5:46 one teeter totter, one propeller wheel, one cannon, one fuel,

5:50 one instruction booklet, and a partridge and a pear tree.

5:53 You're telling me you get mazes and balls in here?

5:57 That's amaze balls.

5:59 Beauty.

6:00 I mean, it still didn't really explain it that well on the box,

6:03 but it says there that uh it's made by Mattel,

6:05 but it looks like the Mind Flex technology

6:07 was actually developed by a company called Neuros Sky.

6:11 They still have a page dedicated to Mindflex on their website,

6:13 but there's no way to purchase it anymore on there.

6:15 Tired of games that depend on the role of a die or lucky draw?

6:19 With the help of advanced technology,

6:20 Mindflex introduces a whole new way to play.

6:22 By using the power of your mind, you'll feel like a character in a science

6:26 fiction movie as you strap on the headset, connect the clips to your earlobes,

6:30 and align the metal forehead sensor just above your left eyebrow.

6:33 But even this strange accessory won't prepare you for the sight

6:36 of a foam ball quivering 5 in above the game console.

6:40 This game will send you to the[ __] mental hospital, bro.

6:43 The sight of a foam ball quivering 5 in above a game

6:47 console has sent even the bravest men to the brink of insanity.

6:51 Once you feel like you've mastered the art of telekinesis.

6:53 Okay, so they are claiming this is telekinesis.

6:55 That's a it's a bold claim for sure.

6:57 You can test your mental acuity with five challenging

7:00 games designed for groups of one to four players.

7:02 This game probably ruined so many kids' lives.

7:05 They became absolutely cracked at mind flex

7:07 at home and then they genuinely believe

7:09 they had[ __] telekinesis powers and then the next day at school they're like,

7:13 "All right, that's enough, Ryan.

7:15 You've bullied me for the last time.

7:17 I am going to put a stop to this once and for all.

7:22 What the[ __] are you doing?

7:23 Mind flex activate.

7:27 What?

7:28 He's impervious to my powers.

7:30 It seems you are stronger than I thought.

7:32 No matter.

7:33 I'll just increase my concentration, therefore stopping you.

7:38 [Music] All right.

7:42 All right.

7:42 So, from what I read online about Mind Flex,

7:45 your brain produces electromagnetic waves when you have a uh a thought daughter.

7:51 I'm sure it works for gay sons, too.

7:52 But no, when you have a thought,

7:53 your brain, it it creates electromagnetic waves.

7:56 And these waves can be measured uh with electrodes like attached to your scalp.

8:00 And these are called EG signals aka electro electro electro.

8:09 What the[ __] Electroinsphilography.

8:15 Electroinsphilography.

8:17 Electroinsphilography.

8:19 Electroinsography signals.

8:20 That's what it That's what it means.

8:24 That's what it means.

8:25 And then Mind Flex uses the fluctuation of those signals to move the little foam

8:30 ball that's sitting in a stream of air created by fans in the Mind Flex game.

8:34 I found a longer Mind Flex commercial on YouTube that goes into more detail.

8:37 Let's watch this first before we actually go try out Mind Flex.

8:40 Mind Flex lets you move a ball using just the power of your mind.

8:44 I just want to keep doing over and over and over and over.

8:46 Damn, dude is already straight up addicted to Mind Flex

8:49 over and over and over and over.

8:51 Funny if the commercial ended with him getting pulled

8:52 out of the building by security and he's like,

8:54 "Come on, let me move the ball one more time."

8:57 When you start moving the ball, you get really into it.

9:00 It panned down.

9:00 He's got piss in his jeans.

9:01 I got really into it.

9:02 I couldn't control my bodily function.

9:05 I am amazed.

9:06 I am amazed.

9:08 Woo!

9:09 Holy[ __] Okay, this is firing me up, dude.

9:11 This is working.

9:12 This is good advertising, man.

9:13 This This dude just experienced Nirvana after using Mind Flex, dude.

9:18 Holy[ __] Whenever you concentrate, you generate brain wave activity.

9:21 Mine Flex reads these brain waves through the sensors

9:23 in the headset and sends a signal to the console.

9:26 The fan controls ball levitation,

9:28 but it's your brain waves that control the power of the fan.

9:31 The more you concentrate, the higher the ball will rise.

9:35 relax and the ball descends.

9:36 All right, I think I have a firm understanding on how this[ __] works now.

9:39 And and after seeing everybody[ __][ __] their pants about it.

9:42 I think it's time to flex my mind.

9:45 Let's go open this[ __][ __] But before we do

11:08 I hope you guys checked them out.

11:09 Back to the video.

11:10 Mindflex zone.

11:12 Mindflex zone.

11:13 I was thinking that or I could do Chris Angel.

11:16 I could go Mine Flex Mine Flex.

11:20 A lot of options there.

11:21 Uh we've got Mine Flex, man.

11:22 I thought I'd bust this thing out and just see how it works, man.

11:25 As you can see, this is the only uh this is the only at Toys R Us variant.

11:28 Very, very rare.

11:30 Wow.

11:31 It smells like another person's house.

11:33 I don't I'm sure they all didn't smell like that.

11:35 This is a used one, so that's probably why.

11:37 But this is what we got, man.

11:39 The uprising begins here.

11:40 Holy[ __] They recruiting us for a[ __] war.

11:44 This would be on the cover of a[ __] Hunger Games novel, dude.

11:47 We got the board here.

11:48 I guess we got a whole bunch of doodads here.

11:52 So, let's uh by the time I'm done playing this game,

11:55 I'll be able to take these screws out with my[ __] head.

11:58 My mind.

11:58 I mean, there's something rattling in here, too, which is not a good sign.

12:01 But these actually take C batteries.

12:04 I've never seen them before, so this is a first for me.

12:07 And if they're C batteries, I hope they're waterproof.

12:10 Sh.

12:13 Like, see, the uprising begins here.

12:16 As soon as I[ __] put these in, they're

12:19 going to start foring uh indoctrination thoughts into my head.

12:24 Hell.

12:24 Okay, batteries are in.

12:25 Now I need to put AAA batteries into the headset.

12:28 Crazy that all these amazing devices are

12:31 just powered by these little batteries, right?

12:33 Time machine I used a couple videos ago.

12:36 That was just batteries and I got to travel back in time.

12:39 It just goes to show you, man.

12:40 Just little things by One Direction.

12:45 It's a good song.

12:45 When I'm doing something like this, I would

12:47 usually want to put my um camera on strapped

12:50 to my forehead so you guys get a POV of what it's like to use a Mind Flex,

12:54 but I'm already going to have another headband on.

12:57 So, I only have one head unfortunately.

13:00 So, one head.

13:01 Okay.

13:01 So, this is the forehead sensor right here.

13:04 Forehead sensor.

13:05 I hardly know her.

13:06 So, the thing about me is um I have a very I have a very large head.

13:10 I got a big noggin.

13:12 Everybody in my family has one.

13:14 They all have heads.

13:15 That's a little loose, actually.

13:17 Damn.

13:17 This is for kids.

13:18 __] If I had a kid whose head was this big, I'd[ __] send them back.

13:21 All right.

13:23 M.

13:23 Oh.

13:23 All right.

13:24 As you can see, the headband is clearly

13:26 upside down because the logo is clearly upside down.

13:28 And it took me way too long to figure this out.

13:31 Okay.

13:31 Make sure the forehead sensor located under the Mind

13:34 Flex logo is positioned above your left eye.

13:37 This doesn't look right.

13:38 Is this right?

13:39 Ow.

13:40 This hurts.

13:41 What the hell?

13:41 Is this right?

13:42 I feel like this is wrong.

13:43 So, there's a Mind Flex logo above my left eye, right?

13:46 But then now it's now it's all like that.

13:48 That can't be right.

13:49 Wait, it's upside down.

13:53 Stupid[ __] idiot, man.

13:54 Okay, that makes a little more sense.

13:56 I need all the help I can get.

13:57 I hope this Mine Flex makes me[ __] smarter,

13:59 cuz that was the dumbest[ __] I've ever done.

14:01 Now we're cooking.

14:02 Okay, wait.

14:04 Okay, wait.

14:05 Like, why am I eating?

14:06 Attach the ear clips to each lobe so

14:08 the metal sensors are flat against your skin.

14:11 I'm locked.

14:12 I am so locked in.

14:13 You have no idea.

14:14 While sitting as still as you can, turn on the headset.

14:18 And here they are, the little balls.

14:21 Turn on the console.

14:24 [Music]

14:28 Select game.

14:30 Holy[ __] Press the select button until you hear freestyle.

14:35 Freestyle.

14:34 Okay.

14:34 Sitting here playing Mine Flex.

14:36 Shotty said I got that nice sex.

14:39 Hope I can make these balls float cuz if I do then I'll be y'all's goat.

14:43 Oh[ __] Press the enter button.

14:47 Begin.

14:50 [Music]

14:56 So I immediately tried concentrating to see

14:58 if I could raise the little blue ball.

15:00 And folks, I was flabbergasted.

15:03 Oh my god.

15:06 Sorry.

15:06 I wojacked and it went down.

15:07 Okay.

15:08 Sorry.

15:08 Sorry.

15:08 Sorry.

15:08 Sorry.

15:12 I can't not Wojack, dude.

15:14 This is crazy, man.

15:16 Sorry.

15:16 Okay.

15:16 Wo.

15:17 I know Mine Flex isn't the most high tech[ __] ever,

15:19 but I truly did not think it was going to work so well immediately.

15:22 I don't know why the hell dudes complain about blue balls.

15:25 These things are awesome.

15:27 Okay, this is actually[ __] blowing my mind right now, dude.

15:31 And then tried moving the ball around the track by cranking the little knob,

15:34 and I was slowly getting the hang of raising and lowering the little blue ball.

15:37 All right.

15:37 I've noticed that like if you It's kind of like a nonchalant thing.

15:41 Like if you're like really locked in, it'll go up.

15:44 But if you're just like whatever, bro, starts to go down, right?

15:48 So that's kind of the This is a locked in machine.

15:51 I then tried putting the ball through one

15:52 of the little hoops and I was having some difficulty.

15:54 Come on.

15:55 But then I absolutely locked in.

15:57 I was more locked in than the man in my basement right now.

16:00 Somebody help me.

16:01 Shut up down there.

16:02 Holy[ __] If I had this when I was a kid,

16:05 fully would have been convinced I had superpowers.

16:08 Even I'm I know how it works.

16:09 I'm a 31-year-old man and I'm a part of me

16:11 is like I think that was just all of you.

16:13 I think I don't know if there was actually any air coming out of this at all.

16:16 As much as I would just love to play this forever

16:18 by myself and just have that be the end of the video.

16:21 The box says you can play with four players.

16:25 And I feel like I'd be doing a disservice to you guys.

16:27 I wouldn't be giving you guys a full review if I didn't play this with someone.

16:30 I think I'm gonna invite my friend Jacob over to play this with him

16:35 and I I am gonna create the most diabolical impossible obstacle course

16:41 and we'll see which one of us completes it first.

16:44 We'll see who has the the flexier the flex

16:47 the uh let's see whose mind is flex more flexible.

16:51 And I'm going to take this off.

16:52 Forgot these were clipped to my ears.

16:54 Oh, let's see if that left an indent on my forehead.

16:57 Okay, only a huge one.

16:59 Wa!

17:00 Bro, it's a crater, man.

17:03 Am I going to be okay?

17:04 I got to go to the grocery store right now, man.

17:05 I'm going to walk in there and everyone's going to be like,

17:07 "Mind flex, huh?" I remember my first time.

17:10 I spent the next 10 minutes assembling the most diabolical,

17:13 difficult, brain busting obstacle course this world has ever seen.

17:16 I didn't tell Jacob what my video was about,

17:18 so he texted me and asked, "What's the video?" And I said, "It's a surprise.

17:22 All I can say is prepare to have your mind blown.

17:27 I'm going to suck your mind's penis." And the next day,

17:29 Jacob showed up and he was a little

17:30 confused by the mysterious object hidden underneath his tablecloth.

17:34 Jacob

17:36 Curtis, we've been friends for a long time, right?

17:38 Uh-huh.

17:38 10, 11 years now.

17:40 Yeah.

17:40 And I feel like, you know, since as long as we've known each other,

17:43 I feel like we've always had this, you know,

17:45 unspoken rivalry to see who is uh who's smarter.

17:50 Right.

17:50 Right.

17:51 Would I am I offkilter?

17:54 Yes.

17:54 Yes, you're offkilter.

17:56 Oh, I mean, no.

17:57 Okay.

18:00 Yes.

18:00 Yes.

18:01 There you go again.

18:01 Try to make me look like a[ __] idiot with your photographic memory.

18:05 So, I thought today it' be pretty fun to finally

18:08 put it to rest to see who has the bigger brain.

18:11 He must be talking about my cancer.

18:14 Are you talking about the tumor?

18:15 I guess not.

18:16 Maybe bigger was the wrong word.

18:17 Underneath this tablecloth is something that will finally help

18:21 us decide who between the two of us is smarter.

18:26 So, this is some one of those gotcha moments, huh?

18:29 No, no, no, no.

18:29 You're trying to get me and make me look stupid on camera.

18:31 No, no, no.

18:32 I said, prepare to have your mind blown.

18:36 Okay.

18:41 Do you know?

18:41 Are you familiar with this?

18:45 So, Mind Flex, I'll show you the commercial.

18:47 Let's watch.

18:48 Let's watch the commercial cuz this was a product available from 2009 to 2011.

18:53 Mindflex lets you move a ball with the power of your mind.

18:55 We wanted to see how people react to playing Mind Flags for the very first time.

19:00 Awesome.

19:00 Mindblowing.

19:01 A wireless headset transmits your level of brain activity to the console.

19:04 The more you concentrate, the higher the ball rises.

19:07 And Mind Flags is the obstacle course

19:09 game you can customize in hundreds of combinations.

19:11 It's a very um you know 2000s, late 2000s advertising to be like,

19:15 "This is the coolest[ __][ __] you'll

19:17 ever see in your goddamn stupid life." Yeah.

19:19 So, I created this uh obstacle course that will test

19:23 how smart we are and how functional our brains are basically.

19:28 Okay.

19:28 Candidly, I've had a little bit of practice.

19:30 I've tried it out before a little bit.

19:31 So, I'll let you try it out first just to get your uh reaction here.

19:35 Also, I do have a condition.

19:42 What?

19:43 Wait, you have like a stomaching?

19:44 Yeah, I got a stomach.

19:46 I actually ate a bunch of those balls over here.

19:51 This has to go over just above your left eyebrow.

19:53 And then also these, sorry, these clip onto your

19:57 and

19:56 your ears.

19:58 Now you flip this on.

20:01 Okay.

20:05 What exactly do I do?

20:08 Oh, yeah.

20:08 I'm so I totally forgot to explain how it works.

20:10 You've only just put this on my head and then turn that on.

20:15 This is a a fan right here.

20:17 You control the power of the fan, like how powerful it is.

20:20 Like you really just concentrate on the ball like floating, it'll go higher.

20:23 But then if you relax, then it goes lower.

20:26 And that has to do with this.

20:27 Yeah.

20:27 That reads your brain signals.

20:29 And this was popular.

20:30 It was popular for two maybe a year.

20:33 I think I kind of remember seeing this.

20:36 I began teaching Jacob the basics of mind flex.

20:38 And his first instinct to lower the ball

20:40 was to just completely look away from mind flex.

20:43 And I thought that was super funny.

20:46 Okay.

20:46 All right.

20:46 So, what did you what's your uh first impressions of um of Mine Flex?

20:51 Genuinely, no bit.

20:52 Really cool.

20:53 I am amazed.

20:54 All right.

20:54 So, I was thinking it'd be fun to have a a little go to see how

20:58 long it would take each of us to finish to finish the uh the obstacle course.

21:03 I mean, you're already strapped in.

21:04 Do you want to do you want to go first?

21:05 Yeah, let's give it a whirl.

21:06 So, then and hold on now.

21:07 Like Oh, yeah.

21:08 Let's go through it.

21:09 The obstacle course.

21:10 The starting line is right here.

21:11 You move the ball through the hula hoop.

21:14 Oh.

21:14 Oh.

21:15 Oh god.

21:15 Yeah.

21:16 Wet.

21:17 So you go through the little hula hoop and then

21:19 I think this one it's kind of a freefor

21:21 all but I think you can go either through

21:24 that way or take it all the way up top shelf.

21:26 Should we make that extra points?

21:28 I think it was just a time thing that we're going to do.

21:30 I don't know if there's points really.

21:31 I'm going to make that for me for you.

21:33 Okay.

21:33 You'll get extra points if you do that.

21:35 This next one probably will be the trickiest

21:37 one because you got to go under cuz if you go too high the ball's going to shoot

21:42 shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot

0:00 shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot

21:43 shoot shoot shoot shoot you you in the[ __]

21:43 face get caught in your throat you choke I don't help and you die or you eat it.

21:48 Yeah, but we got three more.

21:49 So we're Well, like I told you earlier, I've already eaten like a billion.

21:52 Yeah, you're full of blue balls.

21:54 And then next you got you do the teeter totter

21:56 and then this one the air is going to blow this.

21:59 So then you have to land the ball in here

22:01 and the ball is going to blow it around and then you

22:04 have to go up and for the final you got

22:06 to go through this top hula hoop and that will be it.

22:08 So it might take honestly might take a while.

22:10 It I might have made it too hard.

22:12 This might genuinely

22:14 Yeah.

22:14 I don't know how much time.

22:15 Take me about 30 or 40 minutes.

22:18 Are you ready?

22:18 Yes.

22:18 Yes, I'm ready.

22:19 Okay.

22:20 Three, two, one, go.

22:22 He's thinking too much.

22:24 He's having a little bit of trouble with the whole I got to commentate.

22:27 You don't have to.

22:28 I have to.

22:28 It's a gentleman's game.

22:29 Don't cop.

22:35 Okay.

22:35 Laughing is not good.

22:36 It's not good for it.

22:37 No, I guess not.

22:38 It lost everything.

22:39 Okay, shut up.

22:41 It's dragging me like[ __] crazy.

22:43 All right, he threw the first obstacle.

22:44 Jacob was able to make it through the second obstacle pretty quickly,

22:47 but this is when things got really difficult.

22:51 This obstacle was insanely difficult because you have to keep the ball

22:54 levitating as low as possible while rotating the fan really quickly.

22:57 And if the ball gets too high, it shoots out of the funnel.

23:00 And this was proving to be next to impossible.

23:04 __] I really thought I I feel like this might be too hard.

23:06 Is it impossible?

23:07 Let's try taking that out.

23:08 And let's see.

23:09 All right.

23:09 So, we remove the funnel obstacle because neither of us

23:11 have a brain big enough to navigate the ball through all

23:14 that[ __] I reset Jacob's timer and now he's at the teeter

23:17 totter and he made it through that in no time.

23:19 And then it was time for the second last obstacle.

23:21 So, what's supposed to happen is you land the ball in one of these holders

23:24 and you relax your mind so the fan

23:26 gently blows the ball around to the other side.

23:29 And this one might actually be more difficult than the funnel we just removed.

23:32 So, this one gave Jacob a really hard time.

23:35 I'm not looking at it.

23:36 What the hell?

23:37 Oh, there you go.

23:41 No.

23:41 Oh my god.

23:42 Okay, that actually might be impossible.

23:44 No, it's not.

23:44 It's not.

23:45 I can do this.

23:46 I'm not an idiot.

23:48 And I've known Jacob for 11 years.

23:50 I have never seen him more focused in my life.

23:53 I'm almost drooling.

23:58 Did I do it?

23:59 And after a long and treacherous battle, Jacob finally made it through.

24:03 And all he had to do was move the ball through one final hoop.

24:09 [Music] Holy[ __] Okay, it took a few.

24:25 That actually genuinely one of the hardest things ever.

24:28 Yeah.

24:28 What was my final time?

24:30 5 minutes 54 seconds.

24:33 I'd like to see you beat that.

24:34 Is there a big Oh, yeah.

24:35 That's a That's a little side effect.

24:38 Just tried the Mind Flex.

24:40 I just tried the Mind Flex.

24:41 Went great.

24:42 I strapped on the headset in preparation for my turn with the Mind Flex.

24:46 And watching this back, I do feel really bad for putting Jacob through

24:48 more head trauma by wearing that[ __] tight ass headband.

24:52 Whoa.

24:52 How we I've never actually looked more like

24:55 I have a brain tumor than they two one.

25:00 I was feeling really confident,

25:01 but was immediately having issues with the first obstacle,

25:03 which is like the easiest one.

25:05 So, things were not looking good.

25:06 I forgot how[ __] annoying this was.

25:08 I made it through the second obstacle right

25:09 around the same time Jacob made it through.

25:11 So, at this point, it was neck and neck.

25:13 I don't know what was going on with my ball at this point,

25:15 though, but it was going back and forth like[ __] crazy.

25:18 There we go.

25:21 Force choke it.

25:22 Yeah.

25:23 Okay, now I need to get it on one of these.

25:25 And buddy, good luck.

25:27 I decided to use Jacob's technique of not

25:29 paying attention at all to lower the ball.

25:31 And it actually worked.

25:32 Now I had to concentrate.

25:39 Steady.

25:40 Easy does it.

25:48 Come on.

25:49 Rise.

25:51 Rise.

25:53 [Music] Oh.

26:00 Oh my god.

26:05 [Music] Time.

26:12 3:38.

26:13 3:38 and I freaked it.

26:16 I played my place for Jacob and I freaked it.

26:18 I feel like I learned a lot of the technique

26:21 here from from your from you doing it though.

26:23 Bring me into your house.

26:24 You show me this futuristic game that I've never seen in my life.

26:28 I think I kind of remember seeing this.

26:33 Also, ow.

26:34 You put it strapped me up.

26:37 Okay.

26:37 Oh, what?

26:37 I can't bring up that I Okay.

26:40 I didn't get a good sleep last night.

26:42 I didn't get a good sleep last night and now I have a headache.

26:45 Wow.

26:44 And then you something you've been practicing like crazy.

26:47 I used it one time.

26:48 You don't have the money to afford this.

26:49 I can't practice like you have.

26:51 You got nothing going on.

26:53 How much that Okay.

26:55 Ow.

26:55 How much How much money do you think this was?

27:01 It's not a number.

27:02 Pretty sure it might be.

27:04 And you do this and you put on all your cameras

27:06 and it's going to go online and everyone's going to go,

27:08 "What an asshole." All the comments about you.

27:12 No.

27:12 For me?

27:13 Yes.

27:13 What did I do?

27:14 I won.

27:14 You trapped me.

27:15 You trapped me.

27:17 You trapped me into looking like a[ __] You should have had better mind.

27:20 I told you what this was.

27:21 I said, "Prepare to have your mind blown." I wasn't ready.

27:24 Don't post this online.

27:26 Please.

27:27 Please.

27:27 Please don't post this online.

27:29 Everyone's going to make fun of me.

27:30 Bring me back next week.

27:32 Let me bring this home and practice.

27:34 You want me to do another video?

27:35 Can I have this?

27:37 Sure.

27:37 Can I have this toy?

27:38 Yeah, actually.

27:38 The kids are going to love it.

27:40 You can have it.

27:40 I don't want it.

27:41 I'll feel like an[ __] You just What do you want then?

27:44 I made you look like a[ __][ __] __][ __] He's not smart.

27:47 And now I can look like an even cooler

27:48 guy cuz I'm giving you a gift, a partying gift.

27:51 You can you can have the mind flex.

27:53 It just goes to show you it's not about who

27:55 is who is the smartest out of the two friends.

27:57 It's about who the nicer guy is.

27:59 And it's me.

28:01 That's what friendship is all about, guys.

28:03 Thank you, Mind Flex.

28:08 Sorry for this setup.

28:09 I'm in a hotel room in Houston right now.

28:11 Houston, we have an outro to film.

28:13 If I had to give a Mindflex a rating out of 10,

28:16 I think I'd probably give it like a man,

28:17 I don't know, like a six, seven, six, seven, pushing 40, by the way.

28:22 I think honestly, I'd give it a seven.

28:24 Mine flex is very fun when you first try it out because

28:26 obviously it's your first time making a ball float with your mind.

28:30 So, so the first time you do it, it's going to be exhilarating,

28:32 but after that, it's just kind of like, you know,

28:34 there's not much else to do with it really.

28:36 Like, I don't know if there's ever a kid out there waiting for the bell

28:38 to ring so he could run home and play with his Mind Flex, you know?

28:41 And that's probably why there are so

28:43 many Mind Flexes available on eBay right now.

28:45 The initial wow factor has subsided after 15 years, right?

28:49 But I don't know, dude.

28:49 Me and Jacob, we had a blast using Mind Flex for that one time, okay?

28:53 So, I I feel like it's worth it.

28:55 If you've got like 30 to 100 bucks to spend and you want

28:58 to have a really good time with your buddy for an hour or two,

29:01 I'd say buy a Mindflex and have a good time,

29:04 but just make sure you see a psychiatrist beforehand

29:07 and just make sure that you're all good mentally because

29:09 I promise nothing will prepare you for the sight

29:13 of a foam ball quivering 5 in above the game console.

29:17 All right, thanks so much for watching this fun little video.

29:19 I hope you enjoyed it.

29:20 If you did, please press a like button.

29:21 Leave a comment.

29:22 Let me know if you ever seen this Mind Flex commercial.

29:24 if you ever had one growing up.

29:25 And also, I would love to do more fun quick little

29:28 videos like this where I try out these like old weird products.

29:31 So, if you have any that you remember, uh,

29:33 comment them down below cuz I would love to do more

29:35 of this cuz this is this is a lot of fun.

29:36 Yeah.

29:37 Other than that, press the subscribe button, come see my shows or whatever.

29:40 That's it.

29:40 I would stick around, but unfortunately, I have to go.

29:43 I actually have a show in like an an hour.

29:45 So, see you.
