They actually cloned the Samsung Beans!

They actually cloned the Samsung Beans!

DankPods

0:03 Oh.

0:04 The beans.

0:05 Although they're not called the beans,

0:07 but if you type in Samsung beans, these do come up.

0:10 Isn't my fault.

0:12 I hope it's my fault.

0:13 They're actually called the Samsung Buds Live,

0:16 and they are so successful that they're gone.

0:19 They're completely discontinued, and they did not have another go at it.

0:23 Look, my only issue with these is that they lied.

0:26 Notice they're not like full-blown rubber tipped earplugs.

0:29 They're open-ear earbuds.

0:32 Cool, that's fine.

0:33 But then they said that they have noise canceling.

0:36 That's nonsensical.

0:37 You can't have open ear and noise canceling.

0:41 Sound is air pressure.

0:43 It's a lot like water pressure.

0:45 If you have a big gaping hole in your submarine, all the water comes in.

0:49 So if these aren't sealed into your ears, outside noise has to leak in.

0:53 And the big rip-off was that was so expensive.

0:56 Maniacally expensive.

0:58 They did crash the price down not too long after they came out.

1:02 And then fine.

1:03 There's not that many bad products in this world, just bad prices.

1:06 So yeah, a lot of people are actually quite happy

1:08 with their beans cuz they got them for an absolute steal, and then they're fine.

1:13 They're fine.

1:14 And they look like beans.

1:15 What more could you want in this world?

1:16 And they're chrome.

1:17 Chromed beans.

1:19 And as I said, they're they're gone.

1:21 They're yeah, you you can't get them.

1:23 Oh dear.

1:24 What's wrong?

1:24 Do I put them in backwards?

1:26 I did.

1:26 It's It's hard to know.

1:28 Well, as you know, I was in Canada.

1:30 I did the North American continent ritual.

1:32 I went to a Walmart, and I get it now.

1:35 I understand it.

1:37 What a magical place.

1:38 We have nothing like it in Australia,

1:39 where you can buy track pants and ground beef all in the same aisle.

1:43 It was actually where I was getting my groceries.

1:44 It was near the hotel I was staying at.

1:46 You bet you I did some laps around that place.

1:50 [laughter]

1:49 I swear I spotted these, I nearly did a backflip.

1:52 This is Walmart's in-house brand.

1:54 Oh no no no no no no, no, They did it.

1:56 They cloned the beans.

2:00 [laughter] That's incredible.

2:00 I mean, they're preaching adaptive noise cancellation,

2:04 ambient sound modes, and all that.

2:06 It's amazing how cheap this technology's gotten.

2:08 Won't have to worry about your cords tripping

2:10 you up while you're perfecting your running man.

2:12 People still doing the running man?

2:14 And you know it's Canadian because it's covered in French,

2:16 which is my favorite bit.

2:18 Canada, what a vibe.

2:20 Water resistant, 28 hours of bean time.

2:23 Do you want that much beans?

2:25 I do have good faith in these because they've got regular rubber tips.

2:29 They're not trying to be overly fancy like the OGs, you know,

2:33 with their open earbud look and whatevers promising noise cancellation,

2:37 which is just impossible.

2:38 These are ear plugs.

2:39 They've got a good shot.

2:41 Open here.

2:42 Yes, sir.

2:43 You got someone getting wet for the beans.

2:45 And you got someone being content with their life choices with the beans.

2:49 That's all you could hope for with these.

2:51 USB-C to USB-A because that's the future we live in.

2:54 Ear tips and a lot of them.

2:56 Got its bud case and it Oh, dear.

2:59 Honestly, it looks pretty big.

3:01 That's an issue having a big, thick, chunky case.

3:03 It makes it hard to carry around.

3:05 NO WAY, IT'S GOT AN LED.

3:07 TOUCH CONTROL.

3:09 I hate touch controls.

3:11 There's nothing left to it but to do it.

3:12 We're going to do it.

3:13 We're going to pop open my brand new beans.

3:17 You don't know what this means to me.

3:20 I have my brand new beans.

3:23 My beans, beans, beans.

3:24 Please recycle this box.

3:26 No way, I'm going to frame it and hang it on my wall.

3:28 Someone bothered to clone these.

3:31 Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

3:33 God, I can't do it.

3:35 It's not in color.

3:36 I mean, it's technically in color.

3:37 It has color on it.

3:39 Boring.

3:40 To Oh my goodness, look at that model name.

3:43 The A block of 100043845.

3:47 That puts Sony to shame for their naming schemes.

3:50 There's the charging case, the LED indicator.

3:54 the on and on and on and on charging port.

3:56 That illustration of a hand is too small.

3:58 And let me guess, it's French on the other No, oh no no no no no it keeps going.

4:02 Good, you open the case and they pair up to the last dingle you were with.

4:05 Two at the same time, you're getting greedy with these beans.

4:08 Goody, touch controls,

4:10 they've never sucked at all and I totally don't hate touch controls.

4:13 1 and 1/2 hours to get full bean capacity.

4:16 Ah, it's all it's all pretty it's all pretty easy.

4:18 And I'm learning the French words for words I already know.

4:22 Oh, we're getting serious here.

4:24 Ah, they they foam ones as well, like ear plug ones.

4:26 THEY ARE!

4:28 WOW, silicone and like foam ones.

4:31 Those foam ones are going to get so greasy.

4:33 I like the packaging by the way, LOTS OF CARDBOARD.

4:35 WOW!

4:37 LOOK AT THIS LEATHER TEXTURE.

4:38 You're looking AT THIS?

4:40 THAT'S HILARIOUS.

4:42 IF I FOUND THIS discarded at my nana's house,

4:44 I'd swear this was from like the '70s and holds like,

4:47 I don't know, contact lenses or something.

4:52 [screaming] MY BRAND new beans!

4:53 How are we for thickness, huh?

4:54 Okay, they're a little bit chunker, which isn't great.

4:59 You know, the AirPods Pro's here, second gens.

5:01 Like, you see how thin they got these?

5:03 It really matters, it's how it slips into the pocket and disappears.

5:06 And why a kind of grippy material?

5:09 That's going to suck getting it out of jeans.

5:11 But then these people did coin the beans, so [laughter]

5:14 there's some instability up there, you know.

5:17 Tips, dingle cable, land waste.

5:20 I was going to say, "Where's the medium?"

5:22 But I'm guessing it's cuz they're already on here.

5:25 Ah, nice.

5:25 I got my own on and on and on and on USB to USB A cable.

5:29 Every time I need to charge my on and on and on and on and on devices.

5:31 Charge only.

5:33 Well, I wasn't going to mix spaghetti with it.

5:35 Get these mad lads out.

5:36 Let's activate the beans.

5:38 Let's All right, I want them to charge for a little bit to start with.

5:42 These are the medium tips?

5:44 They're tiny.

5:45 I don't smell good.

5:47 Okay.

5:47 Oh, on and no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

5:49 Well, I'm going to go charge them for a bit.

5:52 Are there any Oh.

5:55 OH, THEY'RE TRYING to talk.

5:57 They're broadcasting their bean energies.

5:59 Not yet, my friends.

6:00 Not yet.

6:01 Well, while the beans are cooking,

6:03 I need to get familiar with the original beans.

6:05 I remember the sound being fine.

6:07 I I didn't hate them.

6:08 Here we go.

6:09 Oh, that's a strange fit.

6:11 Oh, they're not fun to talk with.

6:13 Really good ear Oh, man, are they fun to talk with.

6:15 Oh.

6:16 And as I'm adjusting them,

6:17 they're going bing bong bing cuz of the touch controls.

6:20 There's something weird that happens when like you block your ears and talk.

6:23 If you don't block them all the way,

6:25 you you can actually become really loud in your own head.

6:28 Like right now, my voice is distorting inside of my head.

6:32 I don't know.

6:33 If you want to look insane for a quick moment, and I know you do,

6:36 semi block your ears and just be talking la la la, whatever.

6:40 I get you're going to look insane.

6:41 But you notice it gets really loud inside your head.

6:45 That's what I got going on right now.

6:47 You're stupid.

6:48 Oh, that's so much better to talk with.

6:50 It's actually impressive how much bass you get out of the beans.

6:53 They're fine.

6:53 They they they're just too expensive and didn't actually have noise canceling,

6:57 which was like a big kind of hook, line,

7:00 and sinker kind of thing for them and something that I was

7:03 very interested in because open back and noise canceling, how does that work?

7:07 You know, and it doesn't.

7:09 All right.

7:10 Wow.

7:10 [gasps] Like 1970s car dashboard texture.

7:14 For real.

7:15 We're going to We're going to lay these next to each other.

7:17 Oh, man, these magnets aren't messing around.

7:19 The beanie good It's It's like you can't

7:22 deny this was the what they were going for.

7:27 [laughter] BUT INSTEAD THEY PUT A conventional rubber tip on it instead.

7:31 That's hilarious.

7:33 Yeah, see on the original beans,

7:34 this rubber thing that you can adjust is kind of what helps it stay in your ear.

7:38 It's an interesting design.

7:39 It's like it's very original.

7:41 Not anymore cuz there's there's clones now.

7:44 Oh, look, there's Apple Watches I can't get off

7:45 of my device cuz I don't know where they are.

7:47 Am I Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, TWS in-ear ANCs.

7:51 I nearly put them in backwards cuz it's not a very intuitive look.

7:54 Okay, I I need the larger tips.

7:56 Yeah.

7:57 Cuz I have a huge head.

7:58 Oh, yeah, they're slightly oval shape,

8:00 which is good cuz that's actually what your ear hole is shaped like.

8:02 Get on there, you clown.

8:03 The rubber dingle is also oval shape, so you you got to line it up.

8:07 Sort of just be circle and then make itself oval.

8:10 Oh, in typical fashion, as I'm fitting them to my ears to get them settled,

8:14 they're going play, pause, play, pause, play, pause.

8:16 Apple did it so proper.

8:17 It's what the stem's good for.

8:19 You can like configure it and fit it how you want.

8:22 You're not touching the control surface.

8:24 They're They're not amazing to talk with.

8:26 They kind of got the the boominess of this guy, which is unfortunate.

8:30 It's what makes, you know, having phone calls with these so nice.

8:33 It It just feels really natural.

8:36 I mean, it's not as bad as the beans.

8:37 I'll give it that.

8:38 Okay, I got the noise canceling down.

8:40 And I can hear some sort of like Hmm.

8:45 Yeah, it's it's kind of like static chatter, I'm going to call it.

8:49 Well, they are bean clones, so [music]

8:58 Well, look, um sound-wise, uh it's kind of why, you know,

9:01 there people lament that, you know, I I don't do many headphone videos anymore.

9:05 And it's just we're kind of getting to this buttery golden age where you know,

9:10 even cheap off-brand stuff is just swinging so hard.

9:16 It's like, if I was stuck with these, and these are my only headphones,

9:20 I wouldn't complain.

9:21 They got that low-end bass land.

9:23 There's detail in the top.

9:25 You know, for Walmart home brand earbuds shaped like beans,

9:30 it's just surprising.

9:31 You know, and even like jumping straight from these to these, it's like, "Oh.

9:35 Oh, they're they're earbuds.

9:36 No worries." Uh just testing the noise canceling then.

9:39 I went and just banged on a bunch of drums.

9:40 Okay, it's impressive.

9:42 My ears weren't getting slammed.

9:43 If I was really whacking it, there was like a little bit of like um clipping

9:48 when I hit a symbol that really makes them clip,

9:51 but you know, these do that as well.

9:55 [laughter] Cromulence abound.

9:56 I'm I'm half tempted to actually make these my earbuds.

9:59 The main thing I use these for is if I have to make phone calls.

10:02 And being out like the the quick deployment out of the very cromulent

10:05 case and how easy they slip in the pocket and they just work.

10:08 I don't think these are going to be able to top

10:10 that cuz merely just putting them in your head and adjusting them,

10:13 yeah, it's like music pause, music on, music pause,

10:15 music and noise Well, you know what?

10:17 We we got to test the microphone.

10:19 It's it's usually the weakest part of Bluetooth headphones is that yeah,

10:22 the microphones just kind of suck and it's annoying.

10:24 It's to do with the Bluetooth protocol and whatnot.

10:27 Not that, you know, they don't put good

10:28 mics in these, but then it's been long enough.

10:31 Why can't they fix it?

10:32 [laughter] You know, like a $2 cable mic sounds better than these.

10:36 What we're going to do, we're going to go AirPods, real beans, fake beans.

10:39 So what made this one time, I was like so inspired by the Samsung beans

10:43 that I thought I'd make my own bean-inspired technology, mate.

10:47 But like, I don't have access

10:49 to any sort of plastic manufacturing companies, hey?

10:52 So I'm going to have to utilize like real beans, mate.

10:55 And somehow I've got to actually turn that into technology and somehow

11:00 profit cuz I haven't earned a single dollar in 17 years.

11:04 And so like, the problem is, mate,

11:06 I have so little money that I don't even have any beans to start with.

11:11 So like, first part of the mission, mate, is to get some beans.

11:14 So my search for some beans without any money, mate,

11:16 I figured that like I should avoid the supermarkets

11:18 cuz they're like the middlemen in the bean economy, hey?

11:22 And I should just go straight to where like beans come from.

11:25 But it turns out I'm like not very smart, hey?

11:28 I mean, I don't know.

11:29 I I some Some I think I'm a genius cuz I invented a new kind of deodorant.

11:33 It's just called rubbing a half cut apple all over you.

11:36 But like I I got a fishing rod and I went down to the creek,

11:40 mate, and I just started casting the line.

11:42 And I might have started a bit of a commotion when I decided screaming like,

11:46 "Where are the beans, mate?

11:47 The beans should be here.

11:49 I've been here for 12 hours.

11:50 Where are the beans, mate?" And like I I'm actually hiding in some bushes,

11:54 cuz I'm actually not sure of these people's intentions.

11:57 Oh, hey, mate.

11:57 So, it's been a few weeks, cuz like those people actually did call the police.

12:02 Not cuz I was screaming like,

12:04 "Where are the beans?" as I was casting the line into the creek.

12:08 It's because I stole the fishing rod

12:09 from a family 2 minutes before I started doing that.

12:13 And like they they didn't say anything,

12:15 so I figured that they were just giving it to me, mate.

12:17 But what they were actually doing was being absolutely terrified of me,

12:20 cuz I I mean, I can't afford clothes, hey?

12:23 So, I've just kind of fashioned clothes out of street signs that I've stolen,

12:27 which is kind of chafing real bad, mate.

12:29 Especially like I you know, I'm not going to say where.

12:32 And so basically, mate, like they kind of locked me up for a bit.

12:35 But it was good, mate,

12:35 because like they they actually had beans in the prison cafeteria.

12:39 And that's where I realized that my plans were very flawed.

12:42 They they had no chance of working, mate,

12:44 utilizing real beans as a means of technological progress.

12:49 So, I'm just going to get back to working on my zucchini-flavored car.

12:52 Even the pros are kind of mid.

12:55 Like, they're really mid.

12:56 I'm in the same room as I I

12:58 just stand over there to make those recordings, right?

13:01 You can just hear it's like it's you know, it's fine.

13:04 You can understand it.

13:06 The Smeg beans pretty crap.

13:09 There's this weird clicking noise.

13:10 I don't know.

13:11 I was just standing and talking.

13:13 I don't know where that's coming from.

13:15 And I actually reckon these sounded better.

13:18 It was a slight improvement.

13:20 They're not amazing, [laughter]

13:22 but the original beans sound wise, look, they they are extra bassy.

13:27 They got that extra boom.

13:28 When I listen to that walk through the park jazz song,

13:31 that double bass is just kind of too much.

13:34 But, it's the safer way to lean for most people, right?

13:37 People just like the stinkiness.

13:39 It's not ridiculous.

13:41 I'm sure my ears will adjust to it, and I am literally a being against

13:44 something that costs hundreds of dollars more.

13:47 They fit fine.

13:47 [snorts] But, yeah, we're hitting that point with audio.

13:51 I mean, my TV at home is some 4K no-name cheap piece of crap.

13:56 The colors are a little bit blown out,

13:57 the same way that the bass is a little bit blown out.

14:00 But, for the most part, it's fine.

14:02 It works fine.

14:03 I've had it for like 6 years, no dead pixels, it turns on every time.

14:08 Just never let it hook up to the internet.

14:10 We're hitting that with Bluetooth buds with noise canceling.

14:13 This is like Walmart's in-house brand.

14:16 Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

14:17 What do you want for 40 bucks?

14:20 40 BUCKS.

14:21 YOU COULD BUY FIVE SETS OF these for one set of Pros.

14:25 And like, yeah, the only mystery to do

14:26 with these is how long are they going to last?

14:28 It's like the the KB earbuds, you can get them for like 20 bucks.

14:31 They're really excellent, really amazing.

14:33 But, you know, they might bulk out on you in 6 months.

14:36 So, you know, I'm I'm going to have to drive the bean clones

14:39 for as long as I can stand them, and we we just see.

14:43 I mean, the OG beans are still rolling hard.

14:45 These have survived years and abuse.

14:48 Like, you know, lithium batteries don't like sitting out of charge for ages,

14:51 but these always wake up and get back to work.

14:53 Given these a break.

14:55 I'm going to become a bean man.

14:56 Me, me.

14:58 I'm going to be a bean man.

14:59 [laughter] All right, we're in the future.

15:00 Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

15:02 Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

15:03 Hey, I've I've I've been rocking these around for quite a bit.

15:06 Um, they are so stinking cromulent.

15:09 Like, they don't have the range of the AirPods.

15:13 You'd guess that being 40 bucks from Wally's world.

15:16 You know, they got that extra bass, but it's not really an issue.

15:20 My ears just adjust to it.

15:21 You know, like comparison is the theft of joy.

15:24 You know, if you AB test everything,

15:26 you're going to find the flaws in everything.

15:27 You know, I'm just rocking these like someone shopping at Walmart

15:30 looking for oh no no no no no no headphones.

15:33 And it's just like, well, they look like they'll work.

15:35 You put them in your head and go.

15:37 I they're fine.

15:39 A track I like to test bass with is from Star Wars Episode 1's like soundtrack.

15:44 It is the droid invasion.

15:45 So, it's like this And it's an orchestral bass drum.

15:53 It's like one of the deepest basses you can make acoustically.

15:57 You get to hear one like live in person, it'll scare the heck out of you.

16:01 It's like boo.

16:02 It's it's amazing.

16:04 But yeah, like these have that extra bass, but you can still feel the low,

16:09 the It's like it's just extra fun is how I'm going to put it.

16:15 It I don't feel it's ruining anything.

16:18 I mean, I I don't know.

16:19 I'm just kind of kicking myself how incredibly corny what these are.

16:23 But I don't want to rave too much

16:25 and have like hardcore audio files get them going, "Oh, you're an idiot.

16:27 They're 6K is all over the place." And it's like my 40 bucks,

16:32 I'm putting these in going, "These are my earbuds now,

16:35 and I'm actually going to unironically enjoy

16:37 them." The extra fun bass, you know what?

16:40 I'm up for the extra fun.

16:42 Again, it's amazing.

16:43 We're up to this point where these cheaper brands,

16:45 these cheaper electronics I mean, I don't know.

16:48 I mean, the limit is us, the human.

16:50 We can hear, you know, for the most part from 20 hertz to 20,000 hertz.

16:54 Doesn't matter if you make headphones that go up to 100,000 hertz,

16:57 the human can't hear it.

16:59 So, once you nail the human listening range, you kind of done.

17:05 You know, it's like 8K TVs are kind of going away.

17:08 You know, like manufacturers aren't really

17:09 bothering anymore cuz 4K looks amazing.

17:13 Jeez, even 1080 still looks great, especially for like movies and content.

17:18 That's what a Blu-ray is.

17:19 So, yeah, we're getting up to this point with technology where it's like yeah,

17:24 a set of uh buds and um what can I say?

17:30 And yeah, I'm I'm actually enjoying the um

17:32 1970s dashboard leather texture with the slightly soft plastic.

17:38 They It doesn't feel bad in the pocket.

17:40 Mate, there you go.

17:42 Wally's world.

17:43 And that's IT.

17:44 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WATCHING.

17:45 Shoes thanks to these stinky names I hear there, my $10 floaties.

17:48 That's way too coolies.

17:50 Thank you so much.

17:51 Uh Float plane is where all my extra stuff is.

17:54 There's so much.

17:55 There's too much.

17:56 You actually have to go on a notification settings and like

17:59 click off what you don't want to hear from, right?

18:01 Cuz there's food stuffs.

18:03 We're watching police videos.

18:05 I'm doing car like extra car videos stuff.

18:08 There's like five drum streams a week.

18:10 I'm sneaking in extra game streams where I just play crap.

18:13 I love crappy games.

18:15 In the drum stream, Frank's back.

18:17 Frank camera is back.

18:19 So, literally, if you just want 5 hours

18:21 of staring at Frank in a box doing nothing,

18:23 and just put the drum stream on mute, do it.

18:26 I don't mind because you guys jumping in really, really helps me out.

18:29 I really appreciate it cuz it means I can

18:31 fly around the world and pick up more beans.

18:34 So, thanks so much.

18:35 You know what, mate?

18:36 All right.

18:39 Ah, I'll see you all next time.

18:43 Oh, she be squeezing it.

18:45 Frank, don't fall down.

18:46 She will.

18:46 She will absolutely fall down.

18:48 Oh, she's doing a sneak attack for the phone.

18:51 [laughter] We saw that.

18:52 Frank, you got to back up.

18:53 We can't make out your shiny head.

18:55 You're a hard work, aren't you?
