22:32 that I had the vision about having a youth summer program in Trinity Gardens.

22:36 And he called me out of nowhere, bro.

22:41 "God placed it on his heart to call me and start telling me about a summer

22:44 program." And I already had it in my mind that's what I wanted to do, man.

22:48 [music] So, like like that that just blew me just the fact like like I said,

22:53 he called me out of nowhere like we ain't never talked about it or nothing.

22:56 That's how that's how I know it was God playing, man.

22:59 But yeah, we had did it the first year.

23:05 We had what we had I think we had about 10 10 12 boys this year,

31:57 So, you know, I had a casting call probably back in like 20 23,

32:02 And so uh a good amount about say about between 15 20 people came out.

32:07 But uh a lot of these roles man I had already had in my mind

32:12 who I was going to put in the roles while I was writing it.

32:15 Like even before I started writing it.

32:17 So when I wrote these characters I had wrote

32:20 them before people already and they didn't even know it.

32:25 So, so when I got through,

32:27 [music] I sent it to them and I was like, you know, I be like,

32:29 I hope I hope they accept it because I really basically wrote

32:32 a lot of these roles for them and they didn't even know it.

32:35 But, uh, yeah, a lot of a lot of them didn't really have that much experience,

32:40 Um, I just I just wanted to be as real as authentic as possible.

32:46 And so, a couple of them though, you know what I'm saying?

32:47 They they they got like some movies that they already been in.

32:51 Like, we got we got a good group.

32:52 like a few of them already been in movies,

32:54 still doing movies today, made their own movies, been acting.

32:58 So, it's like a mix of both.

33:00 Experience and to people with no experience at all.

33:05 How did Well, how did um it come out?

33:54 Uh, because I'm doing all the editing and everything by myself.

34:07 And um, yeah, I'm shooting for like the summer of next year.

34:10 But like I said, that's me being optimistic, man.

34:12 I ain't never A lot of stuff that I do, I ain't never did before.

34:16 So, it's kind of hard to tell the timeline.

34:20 Because I get to a certain point, I like, "Oh, I gotta do this.

34:26 but when I first started editing though, I was locked in.

34:28 So, I got I said I got like 80 or 90% of it,

34:32 like the videos already put together,

34:34 you know what I'm saying, in order and stuff like that.

34:36 So, I was like real locked in like every day.

34:38 That's what I was coming in doing.

34:39 I kind of took a little break right now, but when I get back locked in, yeah,

34:45 it's I'm going to go and get it done quick.

34:47 It's going to be It's gonna be quick, but it's gonna be fine, too.

34:56 Uh, knowing that you do because this this the hardest part about

35:02 This the hardest part of trying to figure you out is you do so many things.

35:07 You write books, you uh you do uh food drives.

35:13 dude, community events, rapper, like film film producer,

35:18 like producer, like you do so much.

35:20 So it's hard to like, you know, not jump all over the damn place.

35:25 But when you know, when did uh you first realize

35:29 God was calling you to use your art for this purpose?

35:34 That's a good question.

35:34 That's a good question.

35:36 I know it is.

35:36 It's my [laughter]

35:39 um when I realized God was calling me to use my art for his purpose.

35:43 Um

35:45 I would say really in like 20 if I'm believe correct it's around

35:50 like 20 between 2015 2016 somewhere around

35:54 there when I started doing spoken word.

35:56 Uh so I was doing like gospel spoken word you know what I'm saying?

36:00 And so, um, I remember that really started where, you know, I'm a rapper.

36:04 So, I've been I've been rapping since I was like 16.

36:06 And that's really what I originally wanted to do.

36:10 I really wanted to be known as as a rapper.

36:13 But, um, so what I did was, like I said,

36:16 I had I had just found out about gospel rap music.

36:19 Well, actually, my bad.

36:20 This is before I found out about gospel rap music for real,

36:22 like the how it really is.

36:24 But, uh, God was just speaking to me and I

36:26 just need know I needed to talk, you know?

36:28 I'm I'm quiet, you feel me?

36:29 But he just putting stuff on my heart now like I know I need to say.

36:33 And so um

36:35 I had started signing myself up to be like I

36:38 had did my first um like performance at this church.

36:41 You know what I'm saying?

36:42 I signed myself up and there was gospel.

36:44 I had I wrote a little a gospel song off off a beat or somebody else beat.

36:47 You know what I'm saying?

36:48 And I performed it for the first time.

36:50 But then I realized like um God was just tell telling me, "Okay,

36:53 you need to keep doing that." But I ain't have I ain't have any music.

36:57 And so I was like, "You know what?

36:59 let me just uh perform with no music and just

37:02 you know what I'm saying just say the words

37:04 and so that that transition into okay now this is like poetry now

37:08 it's like spoken word you know what I'm saying so my first few

37:11 spoken words were really songs that I just said without the music and so

37:16 uh doing that and I started seeing people reaction to it you know

37:19 what I'm saying people responding positive to it [music] and not only

37:22 that but they were able to focus on my words because there wasn't any

37:24 music behind it and so I was like okay and then I that's

37:28 when I started realizing like there's a there was a lot of gospel rappers

37:32 in Mobile.

37:33 It was like a whole another world that I ain't even know about.

37:35 You know what I'm saying?

37:36 Right.

37:36 Right.

37:36 Right.

37:37 My eyes start like man it's like like it's really a lot of people.

37:40 But being able [music] to do the spoken

37:42 word there weren't that many gospel spoken word artists.

37:44 Right.

37:45 And so u just by classifying myself as that I was able to get

37:49 into a lot of places that I probably normally wouldn't be able to get into.

37:53 And so um that really what started me man.

37:56 And uh after that I I saw the impact of that and I was like okay.

38:00 So then that's I was like this what God wanted me to do.

38:04 But like you say like you say I do a lot of stuff.

38:06 So it it keep changing but I just know God wants me to be creative.

38:10 You know what I'm saying?

38:11 That's the main thing to be creative but he put

38:13 so much stuff on my heart and my spirit to do and I'm just following his will.

38:17 So that's how it started.

38:19 So that that turned into music and all the other stuff you name.

38:23 You know what I'm saying?

38:24 Oh.

38:24 So all the other stuff just started coming as a I mean cuz

38:28 you're real you're you're multi-talented and I

38:29 seen you with the Dame Dash thing, you know what I mean?

38:32 I was like been doing his thing, you know?

38:36 Uh um well when you you you got a book out so

38:42 I want you to explain a little bit about this book like

38:45 Yeah.

38:46 So uh the book's the great commission.

38:48 You know what I'm saying?

38:48 It Yeah.

38:49 It complete the album which is the great commission.

38:52 And so, uh, that was something else God put on my heart, too.

38:55 You know, say, you know, I'm the type of person where,

38:59 okay,

38:58 I I just I just do it.

39:00 Like, anything I think about, I just do it.

39:03 That's why I I was just thinking the other day,

39:06 I don't understand how some people just don't do

39:10 stuff cuz I I guess it's just me, you feel?

39:13 Because like like whatever I think about, I could do it.

39:15 And especially this day and age, like you could just do anything.

39:18 And so, um, God had told, you know what I'm saying?

39:21 He like he had put on my heart like you need to put an album

39:24 with the book too [music] and something

39:26 something to get out there something for people

39:27 to read you know what I'm saying to relate to and so the book is

39:31 basically just about find it's about that about

39:33 finding your purpose finding your god-given purpose

39:35 you know what I'm saying and you know I I basically I quit my jobs

39:41 it it took me a minute but I finally I quit my jobs you know

39:43 what I'm saying just to focus on what God has given me to do and [music]

39:48 and he's been pro providing and you know what I'm saying supporting me that way.

39:52 I still do little uh gigs and stuff.

39:54 You know what I'm saying?

39:55 But for the most part,

39:57 like like I like I tell everybody like I like I'm a filmmaker.

40:00 Like you ask me what I'm doing, I'm I'm a filmmaker.

40:04 Yeah.

40:04 Like like like I like that's what I am.

40:06 And so the that's what the book is about.

40:08 The book is just about finding out realizing what your purpose is.

40:11 Cuz I feel like God Well, I know God has given everybody a purpose.

40:16 He created you for a reason.

40:18 there's a reason he created you and he put you on earth.

40:21 You know what I'm saying?

40:22 And so,

40:24 yeah,

40:23 just telling people that and cuz it took me a long time

40:26 to realize that like that was years of my life where just wasted.

40:30 And and I kind of like I I was

40:33 telling somebody I was telling my wife the other day,

40:35 Like if I could change anything in the past, I wouldn't.

40:38 You know what I'm saying?

40:39 But I also realized too that a lot a lot of that time was wasted.

40:43 And so my thing is if you get people to realize what [music] to realize

40:49 and tap in with God early enough to find out what their true purpose is,

40:53 then you know what I'm saying?

40:54 It'll be better off.

40:55 And so that's what the book is about, man.

40:57 Just finding your purpose, [music] doing God's will,

41:00 and just doing the great commission cuz that's what we put here to do.

41:08 It was the album or the book?

41:18 So, with the album, what was your uh what was your goal for this album?

41:25 Non-believers, believers, um people struggling.

41:35 So, my this my first gospel rap album.

41:43 maybe six secular albums that you y'all probably nobody probably ever hear.

41:53 So put them out one day just to see how it was.

41:56 And you know, I I felt like I always been spitting.

42:02 this album is is very I'm proud of because like I said,

42:05 I started doing the gospel spoken word and stuff like back in 2015, 2016.

42:10 So I just released my first gospel album this year.

42:12 So that's 10 years, you know what I'm saying?

42:14 And it took me to release a whole gospel album, you know what I'm saying?

42:19 And so um yeah, basically it's for everybody.

42:21 It's for believers and unbelievers.

42:23 Um, you know, a lot of my even spoken word

42:25 and rap is just trying to wake up people inside the church.

42:33 Um, because I feel like there's a lot of tradition

42:35 that we uho hold to, you know what I'm saying?

42:40 Just basically telling the truth, you know what I'm saying?

42:42 And getting people to truly think for themselves and go

42:45 back and re-examine the scriptures um to confirm your beliefs.

42:50 Because a lot of stuff that we talk that we believe in ain't even in scripture.

42:56 And so [laughter] that's basically what it is.

43:00 and then um just getting unbelievers too.

43:04 Just like I say, just get everybody to reexamine what

43:07 you believe in and um go look at the scriptures.

1:35:12 And so that's where it started off.

1:35:16 let me tell my story too a little bit as far as somebody moving to the city,

1:35:22 from out of the city and then just how the environment changed you.

1:35:27 So like like when I first when I first moved back to Mobile,

1:35:31 I remember I was I was like speaking proper, you know what I'm saying?

1:35:34 And I remember my grandmama, she told me,

1:35:37 she was like like [music] you going to be out

1:35:39 there on that corner doing what they doing on the corner.

1:35:41 You know what I'm saying?

1:35:42 And I'm like, "Girl, I ain't going to be like that." Like, right?

1:35:45 But sure enough, like three years later,

1:35:48 just being in that environment, like it had an effect on me.

1:35:52 And so, but I always knew that I was kind of like different.

1:35:56 And so, that's really what this main premise was.

1:35:59 And just showing just how the environment change you.

1:36:02 And then also with the choose your own adventure thing,

1:36:07 The choices that you make going to change the outcome.

1:36:10 And so, like, you got to make the right choice.

1:36:13 Just because you in this survival, I always say, you know,

1:36:15 a lot of people be like, they're a product of the environment.

1:37:12 a lot of the things like I even I let the car I let them improv a lot.
