NFL on ESPN

0:00 Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now from a commercial shoot, Adam Shfter.

0:04 She senior,

0:05 what up?

0:06 Senior.

0:07 Gentlemen, what's going on?

0:08 Hey, how are you doing, man?

0:09 Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day.

0:11 What do you got going on?

0:12 You look great in that suit.

0:15 Thank you, Pat.

0:15 I appreciate that.

0:16 We are here doing a Masters

0:17 of the Universe commercial here in Bristol, Connecticut.

0:20 Okay.

0:20 How many lines do you have so far?

0:24 Exactly to my capacity, zero.

0:27 Zero so far.

0:28 Are you just on your phone?

0:29 I've mastered him.

0:31 Yeah.

0:31 Are you just on your phone in the back or what are you doing?

0:34 I am wielding a 25 pound sword to try to save the day.

0:38 And so far, I think I've succeeded so far.

0:41 Well done.

0:44 She Okay, let's see if you can succeed in your regular job here,

0:47 which you've obviously crushed at.

0:48 The pick is in was phenomenal.

0:49 Were you miked up the entire night?

0:50 And have you watched the clips back and kind of relived

0:53 what the draft was and how crazy all of it went?

0:57 Well, I know that.

0:58 You know, the funny part about that was someone

1:00 had mentioned to me that I might be doing it.

1:02 I'm like, "Okay, yeah, no problem." Like, "Well,

1:04 we'll figure out what we can do." And the next thing I know,

1:06 NFL film shows up the day before and they're like, "Here,

1:09 we're going to wire you up and you'll

1:10 be wired for two straight days and we're going

1:13 to be following you in the in in in the uh in your little pot." I'm like,

1:17 "Whoa, whoa." I like we never went over any of this.

1:19 And it just kind of dropped on me at the last moment.

1:21 Nobody nobody called to say this is what's happening.

1:26 And uh you know it's a little embarrassing.

1:28 I get very intense during these times like that kind of comes through.

1:31 Um but they NFL films does such a great job

1:35 with these shows and it's a real look behind the scenes,

1:39 a glimpse behind the curtain at what goes in to these trades,

1:44 these picks, the choices that each team has.

1:47 Um, I started to watch it last night,

1:49 honestly was captivated and then my family and I got diverted by some

1:53 dog issues and we will get back to it tonight or tomorrow.

1:56 Well, I'm sorry to hear that about your dog issues.

1:58 Obviously, you understand uh how that all goes from our side.

2:01 So, positive vibes there.

2:03 Uh, back to the pick is in us watching it.

2:06 Um, it was interesting because first we realized, oh,

2:09 Shester was miked up that entire time we were talking to him backstage.

2:12 Fascinating.

2:12 I think a lot of the boys were trying to recalculate every convo they had.

2:15 And I hope they had you on camera

2:16 when you walked directly into the puddle whenever

2:19 George Pickkins was intending to sign with uh

2:23 the franchise tag with the Cowboys, which he I got I got to say that.

2:26 I got to say that was it that was shortly after I found out um or at least was

2:32 of the mind that there was a real possibility

2:35 that night that the Rams were going to take Tai Simpson.

2:37 I got a call literally right before that.

2:39 So, I was in my own element and I stepped right

2:41 into that puddle as I'm standing with you and uh who else there?

2:47 Marcus Freeman.

2:47 Yeah, AJ was there.

2:48 Right.

2:49 Exactly.

2:49 And so, like I was in my own universe.

2:51 Um not a master of my universe

2:53 at that moment and just stepped right into the puddle

2:56 as I was processing the Tai Simpson information

2:58 and how it was going to play out that night.

3:00 I think you're a master in the universe in your own way.

3:02 I mean, just completely locked in, oblivious to everything happening around you.

3:05 We appreciate you wielding the 25 lb sword for us today

3:08 in that commercial shoot that you're doing for the Masters of the Universe.

3:11 Let's talk about the stories of today in the NFL.

3:14 AJ Brown told a bunch of kids, "I love you." Hey, listen.

3:17 I don't care what you hear.

3:19 Just know I love you, okay?

3:20 And just know that that's the case at his youth camp this past weekend.

3:23 First of all, love that AJ Brown does a youth camp in Philadelphia.

3:27 Love that he does that.

3:28 Obviously, everybody is presented with the opportunity to do as such.

3:31 The NFL has a great support system to be able to put these camps on for you.

3:35 agencies have put on camps for people.

3:37 So, just doing it and putting the effort

3:39 into doing it is something in of itself that should

3:41 warrant a little bit of a celebration to give

3:43 back to the next generation and to the community.

3:45 So, I appreciate AJ Brown doing this camp because anybody can.

3:49 The fact that he does is sick.

3:50 Now, let's get to what he say.

3:52 Hey, that sounds a little bit like it sounds a little bit like a breakup's

3:55 potentially coming and there's going to be some I don't care what they say.

3:59 All right.

4:00 I love you.

4:01 Don't you worry about old Uncle AJ.

4:03 Coach AJ always love you.

4:05 They're going to say I said bad things about your city.

4:08 I I it's not you.

4:10 Is that what that is?

4:10 Or how should we view this as he

4:12 tells these youth campers that he appreciates everything?

4:15 Well, I think he knows where his future is headed at this moment and it'll

4:20 be a matter of the Patriots and the Eagles

4:24 getting together to basically process the trade,

4:27 finalize the trade, make sure it happens.

4:30 But again, there's nothing that has transpired here uh despite all

4:34 the events in New England that has deterred this trade from coming off.

4:39 I still think it is on track.

4:41 I still think it's going to happen.

4:43 I still think it will involve a future one,

4:47 likely a 2028 first round draft pick.

4:50 I still think all these elements are in place

4:53 and I still think that once we get to June

4:56 that these two sides will get together and complete

4:58 a trade that'll send AJ Brown to the New England Patriots.

5:02 Now again this morning I was watching ESPN Sports Center

5:05 early and they had a piece where they were doing

5:08 their features on I scored a touchdown in the Super Bowl

5:10 and I saw that they had AJ Brown on this one.

5:12 They were featuring his touchdown in the Super Bowl.

5:14 He says, "Hi, I'm AJ Brown, Philadelphia Eagles." And I thought to myself,

5:17 they may have to edit that in about a month here coming up here.

5:21 That that's what I think.

5:22 But we'll see how it all plays out.

5:23 I like that you can't enjoy content.

5:25 You have to correct it.

5:26 I appreciate that.

5:26 I have a similar issue.

5:28 Uh but I do like the fact that he they have it on tape,

5:31 you know, and he has a great history with the Eagles.

5:33 I mean, they did great things together.

5:35 Hey, that was a great trade by the Eagles for him from the Titans.

5:37 What a title.

5:38 Okay, that was uh that was obviously worked out very well for both sides.

5:41 If it is over in June, as if you have basically guaranteed and confirmed.

5:44 Uh hell of a run.

5:45 Can't wait to see him in New England.

5:46 New England people need something uh to bring him upbeat a little bit.

5:50 A lot of Whoa, whoa, WHOA, WHOA.

5:52 RIGHT NOW, you got to wait till at least

5:54 June 1st if something's coming around the bend.

5:56 Uh let's talk about some other quick stories here as you

5:59 have an out in your to save the world soon.

6:00 Go ahead, Tone.

6:01 Yeah, Shifty.

6:02 Now that the draft has cleared,

6:03 teams are starting to look at the free agents that were left over.

6:06 Uh Jooku is visiting the Chargers.

6:07 Dwan Jennings last week was visiting the Vikings.

6:10 There's others out there.

6:11 Bosa, Stefan Digs, there's a lot of big names left.

6:14 um with those ones, the first ones and Jooku and Jawan Jennings,

6:17 they let him out of the building.

6:18 So, does that mean he's not going to Minnesota?

6:20 What's the update on the latest bigname free agents?

6:23 You know, those are some compelling names and some players that could

6:27 help some rosters and we're past the compensatory draft pick period.

6:30 So, now these players can sign with these teams and teams don't

6:34 have to worry about how it will impact their future compensatory draft pick.

6:38 So, I I would imagine you'll see some of these guys

6:40 fall into place here as you mentioned and Joker visiting the Chargers.

6:44 We had Jawan Jennings kicking off with the Vikings last week.

6:47 Uh it uh these guys have waited for their number and the number

6:53 in May is not going to be as attractive as they would like.

6:57 That that's the issue.

6:58 So, at what point do we get to a spot where the players say,

7:00 "Okay, I'm willing to live with what they're offering.

7:03 I'm comfortable enough with what's on the table

7:06 to accept an offer to move forward.

7:07 And I think that's the process that all these players,

7:10 some bigname players who could provide

7:12 some real production are now going through.

7:14 And and all these guys will get jobs by and large,

7:16 I think, before training camp.

7:18 But it'll come in drips and drabs is the way I would imagine it.

7:21 Oh, a couple drips and drabs.

7:23 Let's talk about some drips and drabs quickly as you have about 30 seconds.

7:26 Go ahead, Con Mayor.

7:26 Yeah, after a very serious situation with Sorsby and granted,

7:30 you know, a lot of things have to happen,

7:31 but let's say that he is cleared and you know,

7:33 he is able to enter the supplemental draft.

7:36 Do you think a lot of NFL teams would be interested in Sorsby?

7:40 Did you get a read, especially around draft time, like, hey,

7:42 there were already teams looking forward to him being in the draft next

7:46 year and how do you see that situation playing out if he is,

7:50 you know, all the legal things are kind of done with?

7:53 kind of I'm glad you asked that question before I

7:55 had to go save the universe because to me this is

7:57 a really compelling storyline here that's going to play out

8:00 here in the next few weeks if his eligibility is not

8:03 restored and I don't know that it will be uh

8:05 there's a real possibility that he will then try to enter

8:10 the supplemental draft and the last time I think a player

8:12 has been picked in the NFL supplemental draft was in 2019.

8:16 So, it's been a while since there's been a player who's picked.

8:19 And I do think that if he gets into the supplemental

8:22 draft and the league agrees to have a supplemental,

8:24 does he have his eligibility restored?

8:26 Does he enter in the supplemental draft?

8:28 If he's in the supplemental draft, where is he going?

8:31 Because I think it's going to be fairly high.

8:33 And what's the deadline again for the declaration?

8:35 Yeah.

8:35 Well, his his agent was told by the league that it was June 30th.

8:41 The league has told me there's no deadline.

8:43 I I think that it's such a rare

8:45 circumstance that nobody really has the actual answer.

8:48 They're still sorting through it,

8:49 but I would think here in the next five, six weeks, he'll know.

8:53 And really, that question will be answered.

8:55 He hired Jeffrey Kesler, the not attorney.

8:57 If if he can get his eligibility restored, not even a question or an issue.

9:02 But if he can't and he's going to try to enter the supplemental draft,

9:05 we have to see if the league is going to have the supplemental draft.

9:08 I don't know that the deadline is the issue,

9:10 but they'll figure out a way to get it worked out.

9:12 Well, deadline is certainly a thought if the NCAA

9:14 is involved because they don't move that quick.

9:16 If he was to with Jeffrey Kessler, who repped uh Jordan, I believe,

9:20 whenever he took on NASCAR in this Monopoly

9:23 uh thing that was happening before the season.

9:25 I believe he's been a part of Bounty Gate.

9:27 I believe he's been a part Jeffrey Kesler

9:29 has experience in these waters, I do believe.

9:30 So, hopefully he's able to expedite the entire process.

9:33 We'd like to let Sorsby know though that if he gets a fresh opportunity to go

9:36 to the NFL and this all this other stuff kind of just stops if that's the case.

9:40 Not a bad idea there either.

9:41 But hey, do you do your thing and we hope you get all

9:44 the help that you need going forward so because you're a hell of a talent.

9:47 We don't need you wasting it.

9:48 We need you on the field uh for at least 15 20 years.

9:51 That's how we feel about it all.

9:53 Look at the last case that Jeffrey Kesler just won.

9:57 Look at the last case he just won.

9:59 The streaming movies case.

10:01 Uh, that was him.

10:05 Sure.

10:03 He He I He's the man.

10:07 He kind of gets it is what Shifty saying.

10:09 Well, now there's literally millions of dollars at stake

10:11 here for Storesby College or in the NFL.

10:14 You're the man.

10:15 Go save the universe, ladies and gentlemen.

10:16 That's Adam Shter.

10:19 Y
