0:00 Is a Range Rover a little bit too common for you?

0:02 Do you want something that says I'm extremely rich?

0:06 Quite posh, but don't take the mickey too much because

0:08 I've got a couple of trench guns in the boot.

0:11 Well, I think I have the answer.

0:13 It's a Range Rover, but this is the Holland and Holland edition by Overfinch.

0:20 Coming up, posh guns, and these are absolutely beautiful.

0:26 Embossed game birds, both grouse and pheasant.

0:30 Some sigils from the tomb of an elder god, and boozefilled shotgun cartridges.

0:39 Okay, so that sounds a little bit like

0:42 a collaboration wrapped up in a branding exercise,

0:44 but this could quite possibly be

0:46 the most expensive Range Rover currently in production.

0:49 And that's because it starts at double a Range Rover

0:54 SV long wheelbase autobiography's recommended price of a roughly 225,000.

1:00 It's not about the driving either cuz this car

1:03 is largely standard as far as the mechanicals go,

1:05 which is very suave, but not that much different to normal.

1:09 Thing is, in the right spec, this is very easily a 550 grand Range Rover.

1:15 Can it possibly be worth the money?

1:17 I suggest we take a closer look to find out.

1:22 And £550,000 is just the start.

1:25 In a moment, we'll show you how you can add a few digits to that price,

1:28 including with an option that's so expensive,

1:31 it traveled separately to the studio.

1:34 So, first up, this starts life as a long

1:36 wheelbase SV autobiography with the P615 V8.

1:40 So, that's 615 brake horsepower and a mild hybrid system.

1:45 Overfinch then does Overfinch things

1:47 to the outside except more discreetly than usual.

1:50 Now Overfinch has been modifying Land Rover products

1:53 since the mid70s except it calls it enhancing.

1:57 And you can get it little but expensive mods

1:59 for Range Rovers and Defenders old and new engine upgrades,

2:02 exhaust, interior rettrims, and some very tasty wheel options.

2:06 But if you go for the full program,

2:08 you get a car that's apparently been redefined,

2:10 which means a carbon fiber body kit,

2:12 engine tweaks, and more diamond quilting for the leather

2:15 than you can shake a bespoke artisan stick at.

2:18 You can tell the full conversion cars are

2:20 expensive because they don't tell you the prices.

2:22 But these 24-in Vortex wheels for the full fat

2:25 Range Rover are just under 20 grand on their own,

2:28 and the exhaust is nearly nine.

2:30 So, you can imagine the rest.

2:31 But the Holland and Holland edition is slightly more subtle.

2:35 Overfinch bonnet badge in gold.

2:37 A different grill.

2:39 Holland and Holland crest and checkering.

2:42 Very deep British racing green paint.

2:45 Bespoke 23in wheels with gimbal center caps.

2:50 More gold, more checkering, more scroll work,

2:53 more Holland and Holland, just in case you forgot.

2:57 And then at the rear,

2:58 we have a full width light bar with the overfinch blade and some more gold.

3:04 But I actually think it's quite subtle.

3:07 So actually it's a very nice stylish edit of a Range Rover.

3:11 But that's not actually the best bit because this is the best bit.

3:17 Holland and Holland are gun makers that make shotguns and rifles,

3:21 but there's nothing basic about them.

3:23 And they've been at it since 1835, which is before Darwin arrived in Australia.

3:29 And their guns are more heirlooms than ordinance.

3:31 insanely pretty chunks of handcrafted lethality.

3:35 This car is inspired by Holland and Holland's Royal sidebyside shotgun,

3:39 so it's got the similar engraved scroll work and insane woodworking.

3:42 It's fairly over the top and yet utterly brilliant.

3:46 It's the ultimate posh rangy.

3:49 But it's in the boot where things get really interesting because in the rear

3:54 is a set of piggybacked companion chests made by Holland and Holland.

3:59 So, what do you actually get?

4:00 Well, apart from a lack of usable luggage space,

4:03 you get these two chests that sit on top of one another,

4:07 complete with full quilting, leather, and open pore walnut,

4:11 which store various bits and bobs.

4:13 So, if I open this, you'll notice

4:15 that there are two rather lovely bottles of champagne,

4:18 which is good for a picnic.

4:20 And then on this side, eight champagne flutes monogrammed and engraved

4:25 with the Holland and Holland crest, which is rather lovely.

4:27 Then you also get a Stagghorn corkcrew, something I really quite like.

4:32 And it's quite themic because there are champagne

4:34 corks with little silver grouse on the top.

4:37 Two of those.

4:38 And then something that's a bit old school and smoking is bad kids.

4:42 But in here is a cigar case with a cigar cutter.

4:46 Not sure what that's for, but you know, it's all very nice.

4:49 And then if I push this back and then open this lower drawer,

4:53 we have cutlery plates and monogrammed Holland

4:56 Holland napkins obviously for eight people again.

4:59 So you can have a posh picnic.

5:00 And then the piesta resistance.

5:03 If I open this bit, you get again a walnut

5:06 table on which you can put whatever you want.

5:09 You get eight cut glass little tumblers

5:12 with the Holland and Holland crest in some gin and slow gin and these shotgun

5:16 cartridges which look like goose gun cartridges.

5:19 But if you open the tops, they are actually little hip flasks.

5:25 So you can get loaded in all sorts of different

5:28 ways as long as Jeeves is in attendance, obviously.

5:31 More napkins, more luxury.

5:33 A little walnut table to do whatever you need.

5:37 But if I open this and pop that up there,

5:41 you see exactly what this car is all about.

5:44 Now, this is a matched pair of Holland and Holland the Royal shotguns.

5:49 You can see the little engraving here.

5:51 And these are absolutely beautiful.

5:54 This is all walnut.

5:56 You can see all the cross-hatching on the stock here and all the engraving.

5:59 It's really tiny and handmade and beautiful.

6:03 And they will set you back as a pair of twins between £360 and £370,000.

6:10 And yeah, you did hear that, right?

6:13 But let's just recap how much the lack of boot space will set you back.

6:16 Those guns were £360 to £370,000.

6:20 And yes, a man bought them specially to the studio

6:22 and watched me intently while I was anywhere near them.

6:25 But the companion cases are also extra at around 50 to 60,000.

6:29 So that's 400 grand to make your boot not very practical.

6:32 But the boot isn't the whole story.

6:34 There's more to see in the cabin proper.

6:36 And just to be clear,

6:38 Overfinch and Holland and Holland have history when it comes to putting

6:41 posh cases full of booze and guns into the boot of Range Rovers.

6:45 I remember driving the previous version of this collaboration back in 2009ish.

6:50 Same idea, just older.

6:54 I'm going to start in the back because if you've bought one of these things,

6:56 this is probably where you want to end up.

6:58 And the first thing you notice is there is a lot of leather.

7:02 And you can have it in three different colorways as standard.

7:04 So you can have it full London tan, you can have full Harris green,

7:08 or you can have it like this, which is a split.

7:10 So it's more green in the front and slightly more tan in the rear.

7:14 And it does have all the usual stuff that a really top-end car,

7:18 especially a limousine, might have.

7:20 So you've got um a lovely little touchcreen here, which if I just open it like

7:25 that, you can pop up the electrically operated table,

7:30 which is for whatever you do in the back of a limousine.

7:33 Then you can pop up the cup holders electrically,

7:37 which is possibly one of the most pointless things I've ever seen in a car.

7:41 Um, then there is a fridge here just

7:43 behind this checkered Holland and Holland inscribed little marketetry.

7:49 So if you press that, you can reveal oh storage for some wine,

7:55 champagne, and a couple of flutes.

7:57 Close that up.

7:58 Then there's obviously little comfort cushions,

8:03 but the rest of the car really is inspired by the gun smithery.

8:08 So this is the fore end of the Royal shotgun.

8:12 And if you check out, it's got this checker wood sort of carving grip here.

8:16 And then on the back, it's got these little lozen shaped engraved parts.

8:21 And if you look on the doors,

8:22 these actually have them embedded in the door cards.

8:27 Now, the head of engraving and the master engravers

8:29 at Holland and Holland actually engraved these themselves and then

8:33 they've scaled and reshaped these door card engrave pieces specifically

8:38 to fit in this vehicle so it all matches up.

8:40 It's not just kind of cut and paste.

8:42 The attention to detail is absolutely bonkers.

8:45 So, even on the door handles, you've got the checkering and the engraving

8:50 on the wood to make it feel super tactile.

8:52 Everything you touch, everything you feel is just just so.

8:57 It's perfect.

8:58 It smells good.

8:59 It feels good, and it's all perfectly lined up.

9:02 It feels like a very high quality product.

9:06 But if you do find yourself in the driver's seat,

9:08 you won't feel short changed because it's more of the same.

9:12 Up here, we have swaves and swaves of quilted green leather complete

9:16 with the same game birds embroidered into the back of the chairs.

9:19 You've got lots of open paw walnut again with some gold accents.

9:24 Even the gear stick and the steering wheel have little Holland

9:28 and Holland logos embossed into the sides and the same marketry,

9:31 the kind of checker pattern on the open pore walnut gear knob.

9:36 Even the adjusters for the armrests are milled from solid

9:40 brass and they feature engravings lifted from the shotguns.

9:44 Then there's the door cards with the same engraving and even

9:46 the door pulls have got all the same stuff on.

9:49 It does feel very very posh.

9:53 So I guess the big question is is the Holland

9:56 and Holland edition by Overfinch Range Rover really worth the cash?

10:00 Well, I happen to think that things are

10:02 only really worth what people are prepared to pay.

10:04 But given the wow factor when you open those doors

10:07 and the fact that only 25 of these things will ever be built,

10:11 I have to say, yeah, it probably is worth the money.

10:15 But if you didn't have very expensive guns,

10:18 what would you use the companion chest for?

10:20 Let me know in the comments.
