0:00 Why would the president,

0:01 who was spied on illegally by the intelligence

0:04 and law enforcement agencies of this country back in 2015,

0:08 2016, 2017, why would he put so much

0:12 of his authority behind more wild warrantless spying on Americans?

0:21 That's hard for me to understand.

0:24 Uh, some people think it's because he wants that ability to you know,

0:28 while as long as he's president to use

0:30 his own FBI and DOJ to have these same tools.

0:33 Um, but then that begs the question, why would the Democrats, the uniparty,

0:39 right, if you will, why would they want to give President Trump this authority?

0:45 You would think they might agree

0:47 to a three-year hiatus on spying without warrants, right?

0:51 But no, they don't want any lapse in the program,

0:54 and the president doesn't want any lapse in the program.

0:57 But But if Democrats are so afraid of Trump, if he's really Hitler,

1:01 he's this authoritarian crazy person who's going to eliminate civil liberties,

1:05 why would Democrats be giving that guy the power

1:09 to spy without a warrant on American citizens?

1:12 That.

1:13 Exactly.

1:14 You've re- rephrased it better than I said it.

1:17 Um, in fact, I found myself in a really weird position

1:21 last week on the floor of the house on flyout day.

1:25 Most people uh, had already booked their planes

1:27 to leave before this debate was going to happen.

1:31 The House of Representatives uh, sent the Senate a deal to reauthorize FISA

1:36 if the Senate would ban Central Bank Digital Currency.

1:39 Now, I would I would ban Central

1:41 Bank Digital Currency and not reauthorize FISA, right?

1:44 [laughter] But the some of the Freedom Caucus decided that was an okay trade

1:49 to trade part of the Fourth Amendment for another part of the Fourth Amendment.

1:53 And I am terrified of Central Bank Digital Currency.

1:55 It's an on-off switch for your participation in society.

1:59 Of course.

2:00 Um They'd starve you to death if you disobey.

2:02 Yeah.

2:02 Just They won't let you put gas in the tank.

2:05 You won't be able to travel.

2:06 Um they'll just, you know,

2:07 they can control everything if they can control the currency.

2:10 It's bad enough.

2:11 But we sent that deal to the Senate.

2:13 I um I didn't vote for that deal, but some people did.

2:16 It went to the Senate,

2:17 and the Senate laughed at that deal, threw it in the trash,

2:20 and sent a clean reauthorization of FISA back

2:22 to the House with a 45-day ex- expiration.

2:26 And everybody sugge- everybody but me suggested we

2:30 should just let that pass by unanimous consent,

2:32 and folks could get on their airplanes and go home.

2:36 And I said, "I don't think so.

2:37 Like, an infringement of the Constitution for 45

2:41 days is still an infringement of the Constitution,

2:43 and by the way, we've known about this problem

2:45 for as long as I've been in Congress.

2:47 I've been offering and passing amendments

2:50 to defund this part of the FISA program.

2:53 It's not something new.

2:55 It's like a uh a florist being surprised by Valentine's Day.

2:59 We knew this date was coming.

3:01 And so um I stood up, and I objected.

3:05 And they said, "Okay, well,

3:06 now we got to have a debate over this bill." And Jim Jordan got 20 minutes,

3:11 and Jamie Raskin got 20 minutes as the chair

3:14 and the ranking member of the committee of jurisdiction,

3:17 the Judiciary Committee.

3:18 And at that point, I I stood up and I and told

3:22 the speaker that I want 20 minutes in actual opposition to the bill.

3:26 Wait.

3:26 I'm confused.

3:27 You have one of the most liberal Democrats in the House,

3:30 Jamie Raskin of Maryland.

3:31 You have one of the most conservative

3:32 Republicans in the House, Jim Jordan of Ohio.

3:36 But they're on the same side on spying on Americans?

3:39 For at least 45 days, they're on the same side.

3:42 Well, how could Jim Jordan, this ferociously conservative freedom guy,

3:47 be in favor of spying on Americans without a warrant?

3:51 Uh well, the president told him to.

3:55 Yeah, but that's like a core That's a core issue.

3:57 It's always been a core issue of his.

4:00 And in the debate of his specifically.

4:02 Correct.

4:03 It was It was a condition of being on the Judiciary Committee when I joined.

4:07 Like you had to believe that we needed warrants on FISA

4:10 or you couldn't be on the Judiciary Committee that he chaired.

4:14 That was like the first interview

4:15 question when you applied for Judiciary Committee.

4:18 Constitution still real.

4:19 Right.

4:20 And particularly with FISA 702, this particular program.

4:24 And he battled last Congress ferociously to get warrants.

4:28 And it came down to a tie vote where Mike Johnson was the deciding vote.

4:32 And we I don't know why, again, cuz Biden was president,

4:37 but enough Republicans voted to let Biden have

4:39 the power to spy on Americans without a warrant.

4:41 Because a lot of the information that intelligence

4:44 that's spying on Americans goes directly to Israel.

4:46 Like fact.

4:48 Absolutely.

4:48 Right.

4:48 So that's what this is really about is do we allow a foreign country

4:52 to spy Does our government make it easier

4:54 for a foreign country to spy on Americans?

4:56 It's like the ultimate betrayal.

4:58 Another fact, when X decided to show you where accounts were based,

5:03 where they were set up,

5:04 and where they were operated from, the DHS account showed

5:07 Israel that it was set up the the US Department

5:12 of Homeland Security's X account was set up using an IP

5:16 address from Israel using an Android app for purchased in Israel.

5:23 And that doesn't trouble people?

5:25 Like there should be an investigation over why

5:29 when the DHS set up its Twitter account, it was set up in Israel.

5:33 Now, they claim, if you ask Grok about this, he'll walk around the bush with you

5:37 Of course.

5:37 and and say that well,

5:39 there were some glitches back in the old day and there were some

5:41 contractors involved and you can you can never get to the bottom of it.

5:45 So, but back to the last week, um I was able to claim So,

5:49 but just be clear, Jordan was on the same side as Jamie Raskin, correct?

5:54 For the clean 45-day ex-

5:56 Did you feel like your head was spinning as you watched this?

5:58 It yes, but I've been here before, where it's me versus the UniParty.

6:04 And by the way, um this when they call me an obstructionist,

6:09 you can put this in the column of things that I try to obstruct,

6:12 like violations of your Fourth Amendment.

6:15 So, the speaker said, "Okay,

6:17 each side gets 20 minutes." And I rose up and I said,

6:19 "Well, in fact, each side is for this.

6:21 So, this is no kind of debate." Like [laughter] "I want my 20 minutes."

6:26 It's like the perfect metaphor.

6:29 [laughter] It's like a fake debate where both sides agree.

6:31 Right.

6:33 Yeah.

6:32 So, and it is in the House rules they had to give me 20 minutes.

6:36 And so, then it was going to be me

6:38 with 20 minutes and Jim Jordan with 20 minutes.

6:40 Ironically, a guy that I like,

6:43 who has been leading the charge to get warrants in FISA,

6:46 but in this situation was for reauthorizing

6:49 a program for 40 days 45 days without warrants.

6:53 And at that moment, one of the staffers came over to me,

6:56 this is where it's getting surreal,

6:58 and says, "Jim Jordan would like to give half of his time to Jamie Raskin."

7:05 [laughter] This is the last scene in Animal Farm where

7:06 the the farmers and the pigs are like in it together.

7:10 And they said, "Would you object?" And I said, "No, what the hell?

7:13 Let them both have time." So,

7:14 I had 20 minutes and Jim had 10 and Jamie Raskin had 10.

7:18 And then, um to their credit, Keith Self from Texas, Chip Roy from Texas,

7:24 and uh Warren Davidson from Ohio joined me in this debate.

7:28 Some other people in spirit came and sat down to to offer their moral support.

7:33 They didn't need time to debate.

7:34 And we had a a good debate on this issue.

7:38 Look, the FBI has used this program

7:40 to uh basically run their dating app prospects through

7:47 the database to see what they can find

7:49 about them before they swipe right or swipe left.

7:52 What?

7:52 Yeah, that's the kind of abuse that's gone on.

7:55 They've used it on on Congress,

7:58 they've used it on the president, they've used it on political parties.

8:03 And people say, "Well, if there's if you're not doing anything wrong,

8:06 why do you care if the government spies on you?" Well,

8:08 it's the government's opinion of whether they like what you're doing or not.

8:11 Well, they used it on me and they got caught and no one was punished.

8:14 Yeah.

8:15 They've used it on Sheryl Atkinson,

8:17 spying on her, you know, spyware on her computer.

8:20 Uh they use it on the press.

8:23 Like this should concern everybody and we should And right

8:25 now we're in a 45-day extension because uh I did

8:28 call for the vote and um we had too many

8:32 Republicans and too many Democrats that voted for a clean extension.

8:37 So, let Can we just go through

8:38 the issues on which you disagreed with the president?

8:41 So, my read as a non-Kentucky citizen is that this race comes

8:46 down to the question of who is more on board with Trump,

8:50 who's more the MAGA guy,

8:51 you or the liberal you're running against funded by the casino owners.

8:57 Uh funded by Israel.

8:59 What are the issues that have separated you and Trump?

9:03 Can you just go through the list where the big issues where you have disagreed?

9:07 Um Let me Let me start with the ones I agree with.

9:10 Just real quick.

9:11 I voted to fund the wall,

9:12 I voted to keep men out of girls sports and the Olympics, I have voted

9:16 Wait, I've read that you were totally for mass migration,

9:19 illegal migration, that you love transgenderism.

9:24 You were encouraging people to castrate their sons.

9:26 That's not true.

9:27 Absolutely false.

9:28 I signed a an amicus brief to the Supreme Court

9:32 to support the repeal of birthright

9:34 citizenship for illegal children of illegals.

9:37 Um I've I've done all of these.

9:39 I voted for the Save Act, which is to require photo ID in federal elections.

9:45 Uh if you want to run for school board and or HOA, do whatever you want,

9:49 but if you're going to vote in a federal election,

9:50 you got to have an ID and prove you're an American citizen.

9:53 I've voted for these things.

9:55 Um I voted for DOD.

9:57 I've voted for all of that stuff.

10:00 Um but let's talk about the things where I have been an obstructionist.

10:05 Um most recently, they tried to put immunity

10:07 for pesticides and herbicides in the farm bill.

10:13 Immunity?

10:12 Immunity from liability and a ban on any state,

10:15 let's say a state finds out that one

10:18 of these chemicals causes cancer and if it's,

10:21 you know, applied in a certain way.

10:23 Right now, they're trying to ban any state's ability

10:26 to warn its citizens that that product causes cancer.

10:31 What?

10:30 Yes.

10:30 So, it would be a violation of the First Amendment,

10:34 um a violation of the 10th Amendment.

10:36 They had this in the base second.

10:38 So, if you say something crazy on this show, you can be sued.

10:42 But if you make some poison that gives people cancer and kills their kids,

10:45 you can't be sued because you have, quote,

10:47 immunity along with the vaccine makers given by Congress?

10:52 Correct.

10:51 And well, they were By the way, that's in front of the Supreme Court right now.

10:55 I went and listened to the oral arguments in the Supreme Court on this issue.

10:59 And they said in the oral arguments

11:01 that Congress could decide this issue, right?

11:04 And so, it was stuck in the farm bill and um I

11:07 did work with Democrats to offer an amendment to strip this out.

11:11 Anna Paulina Luna offered an identical amendment.

11:14 Her amendment was allowed to vote.

11:16 And we got enough Republicans and Democrats

11:19 to vote to take this out of the bill.

11:21 So, if you're saying that I'm an obstructionist

11:24 and I work with Democrats, it is true.

11:26 If you're trying to poison Americans that I will cross the aisle.

11:30 immunity right from tort law.

11:32 Like, why don't I get immunity?

11:34 Which is state law, by the way.

11:35 This would be They're not They're The vaccine immunity is wrong.

11:40 It's bad enough, but at least they pretend there's

11:42 some federal court will then take care of the problem.

11:45 Here they were pros- proposing that nobody you could get a venue nowhere.

11:50 By the way, that's a violation of the 7th Amendment to the Constitution.

11:54 It's in the Bill of Rights.

11:55 It says you have a right to a jury trial.

11:58 And they're taking away first amendment, 7th amendment, and 10th amendment.

12:02 Why would Trump want that?

12:05 Uh it's I think he's a busy guy.

12:08 And I think um he's not paying attention to this.

12:12 Although I will caution listeners that when I went to the Supreme Court

12:18 it was very much like the debate that I had in Congress on FISA.

12:25 There were actually three attorneys, not two.

12:27 Usually in the Supreme Court there attorneys

12:29 arguing the plaintiff side and the defendant side.

12:32 In this case, the US DOJ joined the German company Bayer,

12:39 Bayer Monsanto, who makes glyphosate in arguments.

12:43 So, the DOJ helped a German company make the point

12:47 that they should be immune from any state liability.

12:50 A German company should be immune from lawsuits

12:53 by Americans if it turns out their product kills them.

12:55 Correct.

12:57 This is so bonkers.

12:58 I It's hard to believe that's I mean, you can you know,

13:01 there's an argument about is it worth it to put dangerous chemicals

13:04 on farmland because maybe the benefits outweigh the risks or I don't know.

13:09 There's like an argument.

13:10 What could possibly be the argument for stripping

13:13 people's rights to redress if the product is faulty?

13:19 It's because We we've got court corporate capture of I think of the EPA.

13:24 And so, But EPA was set up ostensibly to protect people and the environment,

13:29 but now they've morphed into an organization that would give immunity,

13:33 they would give get out of court free cards to any company that could

13:37 convince them to put a light label on it that says um you know,

13:42 a warning label instead of a danger label, right?

13:45 Wait, so the EPA was in favor of giving

13:48 full liability protection to Bayer Monsanto out of Germany?

13:53 Correct.

13:53 Who's running the EPA?

13:55 Uh Lee Zeldin right now.

13:57 And he was for that?

13:59 Uh this case predates him, but it's going on right now under him.

14:04 And you might think the EPA,

14:06 the federal EPA is going to argue for as much authority as they can get.

14:11 And so they would like and the corporations

14:13 would love to have one-stop shopping.

14:15 They don't want to be subject to courtrooms in 50 different states.

14:20 They want to be able to say, "Well,

14:22 we're we got a get out of court free card because the EPA

14:25 said we don't need to put a skull and crossbones on this product.

14:28 All we need's a little warning label on it."

14:31 Um I know we've gone deep into that issue,

14:34 but let me tell you why it's important because the president is

14:37 the president and we're in the majority because there was a coalition formed.

14:41 I do believe that he and his advisers were genius

14:44 in setting up this coalition and I was part of it.

14:47 Um when I endorsed the president

14:50 to try to bring on libertarians and independents, but we also brought on Maha,

14:55 which is I was one of the people who helped put that together.

14:58 Yeah.

14:58 Cuz I believed that Well, then you're the genius.

14:59 I'm not a genius.

15:00 It's just like that seemed like an obvious issue.

15:02 It's obviously they told us banning smoking was going

15:05 to make us healthy and life expectancy went down.

15:07 I just noticed that and I'm like,

15:09 "This country's super unhealthy and why wouldn't you make it

15:13 easier for people to be healthier if they want to?"

15:17 So and by the way, I have a standalone bill, too,

15:19 to uh this is this is a no immunity for glyphosate act.

15:23 And I have Republican and Democrat co-sponsors on that, but it's

15:28 that's what Maha is and here's the problem.

15:30 If you keep if your DOJ and your USDA and your EPA

15:37 are all going to be captured by a German company and and argue

15:42 that Americans don't deserve their day in court if they're harmed

15:45 by a chemical that's being sold and mislabeled according to their state,

15:51 um, then you're going to alienate that part

15:53 of the Maha the Maha part of the coalition.

15:56 And that's another thing that could lead

15:57 to a bloodbath in the November elections.

16:01 to it's going to.

16:02 Yeah, there are a lot of sort of liberal

16:04 moms or moms who thought they were liberal,

16:06 but they just watched too much media,

16:09 but they basically [clears throat] had good values.

16:12 They're for their kids, they're for nature, you know, those are good values.

16:16 Those people are very disappointed and betrayed, I think.

16:20 Yeah, don't you?

16:21 I I think so.
