The EASIEST Hive Fleet Typhon tutorial using only Xpress Color paints

0:42 straightforward typhoon video you are going to find

0:44 you could totally paint a whole amazing looking army with this recipe quite fast

0:49 that being said this is a complex recipe

0:51 and has lots of steps it's not the easiest paint job out there but I guess if

0:56 you chose High Fleet typhoon as your core skin number one you are already nuts

1:00 and tune you already know what you're getting

1:02 yourself into this video will get you extremely close

1:05 to the official paint job just using Express

1:07 color paints over a simple white primer not

1:10 a single highlight was used thanks to games

1:20 I just spice it up a little bit let's get cracking as you can see we

1:36 have our mini Prime in this case I use korax white but if you don't have

1:40 corks white you can either use gracier

1:42 or any light gray or any Pure White primers

1:46 they are all going to work very well with this tutorial the only difference is

1:50 going to be that one result is going to be lighter and the other is going

1:53 to be a little bit darker and because I am lukewarm I chose the middle

1:57 and our first step is going to be a full layer of a one-to-one mix of Templar

2:02 white and express medium going to apply

2:04 this initial mix of temper white and medium all

2:07 over the miniature covering every recess I highly

2:11 recommend you paint this Leviathan gowns that you

2:15 leave the arms separate [Music] with that layer no dry we are going to start

2:21 adding the gradient on the limbs and for this I'm going to use a space gray

2:25 the technique that I'm going to use is the apply and feather but if you

2:29 don't feel comfortable with applying and Feathering you

2:32 can just do glazes just turn it down

2:34 with some Express medium and apply several glazes

2:38 I just prefer this because it's faster so

2:40 what you have to do for this is apply it over the top half of the limbs

2:45 clean your brush and then feather out

2:47 into the rest one of the advantages of the express

2:51 paint is that they dry very slowly

2:54 so doing these kind of techniques it's actually

2:57 pretty easy if you're feeling spicy you can

3:01 even add the Highlight on the top section

3:05 just by removing a little bit of the paint from here with that step done we're

3:13 going to now add a little bit of Darkness into the upper Limbs and also

3:17 darken the main body and for that we're going to use a mix of two parts

3:20 Black Lotus one part Stone blue and double

3:23 that of Express medium that is six parts

3:26 of Express medium and for the body we're just going to apply this over the main

3:31 body again just to darken this a little bit more also on top of the scales

3:37 we are going to leave the head untouched for now here on the tail we're going

3:42 to do the same as on the limbs apply and feather wrapped and we don't want

3:46 too much accumulation take out the excess

3:50 a very dark and the limbs further is going

3:52 to apply and feather I might do another layer just to darken it down a little

3:57 bit more but I prefer to do less than more of this with that step now

4:03 finished also note that the gun is fully painted with that mix as well it's time

4:07 to start adding color into this and for this we're going to start with the main

4:11 body which has a pearl poly tone and for this we are going to use

4:14 a mix of one part gloomy Violet one

4:16 part deep purple and double the amount of Express

4:19 medium that is four parts of Express medium

4:22 I'm going to apply this over the general

4:24 body like this this will tint all of these surfaces to half a slight purply

4:30 Hue here on the tail the same thing we did when we applied the gray

4:36 mix we have to apply it and feather it down into the rest of the tail

6:09 with that applied and drying we are going to paint all of the magenta details

6:14 especially uh all the connective tissue and and all

6:18 those details and for this we're going to use a mix of cardinal purple deep

6:21 purple and the same amount of Express medium

6:24 that is two parts of Express medium for this I do like to use a smaller

6:30 brush just for the sake of precision because we're not going to apply highlights

6:34 on the body we need to be precise here is these stripy things get too dark you

6:41 can light them up with just a quick over brush with korax white before applying

6:46 this and they will get brighter and more

6:49 noticeable on top of all of this I'm going

6:51 to apply this to the half back of the face I upped up to here

6:59 and I'm going to feather it out again

7:02 if you don't feel comfortable with the Feathering

7:05 Pro method just use glazes the result is going to be the same which is

7:10 going to take more time for our next step we're going to darken down the back

7:23 of the head a little bit more for this we're just going to use the purple

7:26 and do the same thing we've been doing

7:29 all across the model apply clean the brush

7:32 and feather out for the main body of the weapon we're going to use a mix

7:40 of one part gloomy Violet one part black

7:43 lotus and one part Express meat be very careful

7:47 around all of the details that are not this color so we don't contaminate them

7:51 especially if they are already painted not worry

7:53 too much about that either so I'm going

7:55 to cover it over afterwards to clean it up and make it nice and shiny

8:00 but I want to be careful around the rest

8:03 of the details [Music] I want to approach

8:11 the claws and the Hooves now and for this we are going to start darkening down

8:16 this towards the base of the body using black lotus in the same way we've been

8:21 doing this you already know the deal apply

8:24 clean and feather out just want the base

8:33 near the body really really dark and the tips lighter that way the color we are

8:39 going to apply next is going to stand out and create a nice gradient

8:50 with that done we are going to tint all of this with a red coloring

8:55 for this of course we are going to use a mix of one part velvet red

8:58 and one part Express medium just want

9:01 this to tint the surface we don't necessarily need it

9:04 in the recess but it's not going to do any damage if it gets there

9:17 and with that done there is only just one major area left to tackle and that is

9:22 the scales and for this we're just going to go over them with a one-to-one mix

9:26 of stone blue and black lotus [Music]

9:47 with that done we can actually glue the gun now

9:50 and they're just two details left to paint the teeth and Claws and the eyes

9:56 and this eye here on the weapon as well all of those sections were cleaned up

10:00 using kodaks white and now what I'm going to do is start with the eyes

10:03 and for this I'm going to use a one to a mix of Imperial yellow and plasma

10:07 red and now to finish off the model there is just the teeth left to be

10:20 painted and what I'm going to do is use Black Lotus path I'm not going

10:24 to thin it down with Express medium I'm going to use water and turn it

10:28 into a wash this is the sort of consistency

10:30 you're looking for and I'm going to use what

10:34 I usually call the PG maneuver that is I'm going to apply it and then

10:38 I'm going to wipe it with my finger [Music] and go into the same here

10:46 but I'm not just going to wipe and it's going to apply it to the towards

10:49 the bottom [Music] the high fit typhoon Coral

11:00 scheme seems like a pure Madness to do

11:02 for a whole Army but it just looks so good and with this recipe you could

11:07 paint this little fella in about two

11:09 or three hours improving drying times and if you

11:12 batch paint this you can get a full

11:14 Army done in surprisingly a short amount of time
