0:03 I think we went the wrong way.

0:04 You can eat the butt.

0:08 Hey guys, today I'm going hiking.

0:12 The weather is beautiful.

0:14 I checked the air quality and thankfully it's looking pretty good today.

0:20 Let's warm up and stretch a little bit before I hit the trail.

0:25 Got to loosen up these legs.

0:29 How's my balance?

0:31 Not bad.

0:34 My muscles are tight.

0:36 Fit check.

0:37 I have a zip up on because I always like to dress in layers while hiking.

0:44 I have a hat on and a backpack full of supplies.

0:49 And of course, I wore my hiking boots.

0:52 I'm ready.

0:53 Let's check the trail map to see which route I'll be taking.

0:57 I want to go to the peak today.

1:00 Goang Bong.

1:01 That's where we're headed today.

1:03 And we are here.

1:05 Okay.

1:06 Our course is about 2 kilometers.

1:09 And it says it should take about an hour,

1:13 but I guess that depends on how many snack breaks I take.

1:18 Let's go.

1:26 I came across a temple here.

1:29 It's so peaceful listening to the sounds of nature.

1:33 It's my dream to do a temple stay one day.

1:36 It's on my Korea bucket list.

1:46 Keep out meditation in progress.

1:54 Are we almost there?

1:57 We just got to the foot of the mountain.

2:00 Come on, cameraman.

2:02 Put a little pep in your step.

2:03 Power walking.

2:05 Walking there.

2:08 The trail is a little bit rocky and steep at times,

2:13 but there's lots of shade, so I'm happy.

2:18 Those ladies were very honest saying I was

2:30 still very far from the top in the US.

2:33 It's kind of an unspoken rule.

2:35 If somebody asks that, you have to say you're almost there.

2:39 Even if you're very far.

2:41 Am I almost to the top?

2:42 You're almost there.

2:43 You're almost there.

2:45 Why do I feel like we've walked a 5K already, though?

2:49 Our course is about 2 kilometers.

2:52 Time for a water break.

2:54 I'm out of shape.

2:55 I need to catch my breath.

3:01 I'm so sweaty.

3:04 Okay, let's go.

3:08 We have this whole trail all to ourselves.

3:12 I think we went the wrong way because I've seen a few people going downhill,

3:16 but nobody else is going up the mountain on this path like we are.

3:21 We saw a few Ajumas and Ajashi though.

3:25 And wow, I always admire the Ajumas and Ajashis hiking in Korea.

3:30 They always have their walking sticks and all

3:33 their gear and they just have such amazing stamina.

3:37 Honestly, I'm always the one having to let

3:40 them pass because they're so fast and strong.

3:45 Almost there.

3:46 Come on.

3:47 We got to power through.

3:56 It's the home stretch here.

3:58 But I see my biggest enemy when hiking, the stairs.

4:03 I hate the stairs.

4:08 This is such an amazing view.

4:10 And the leaves are changing colors.

4:13 It reminds me of home.

4:15 Michigan has beautiful fall colors.

4:18 I was hoping we'd catch them this year.

4:21 Yes.

4:24 I'm procrastinating.

4:26 I'm putting off these stairs.

4:29 No.

4:30 Okay.

4:30 Busted.

4:36 I'm not too sure-footed.

4:38 Got to use my whole body.

4:42 We made it to the peak.

4:43 Woohoo.

4:44 I have to take a picture with the marker for proof.

4:52 It's breathtaking.

4:53 Hiking is very rewarding.

4:56 It was a struggle getting to the top, but the views are worth it.

5:03 A hiking necessity.

5:05 Gimbop, you can eat the butt.

5:08 I don't like the butt.

5:09 It's too big.

5:18 Chamchi.

5:21 What's your favorite hike you ever done?

5:23 I've done a lot of hiking in Korea.

5:26 I did Jirisan and my first hike ever in Korea was Sarakan.

5:31 We started at 3:00 a.m.

5:34 I thought we were going to be the only crazy people

5:37 on the mountain and there was a line going up the mountain.

5:41 It was a really hard hike,

5:43 but I met some of my best friends in Korea on that hike.

5:48 What about out of Korea?

5:50 Ooh, some of the hikes in the national parks in the US were amazing,

5:55 like Angel's Landing.

5:57 Also, Norway.

5:58 It honestly felt like we were on another planet.

6:01 It was just so beautiful.

6:04 Got to keep the trail clean.

6:06 No littering.

6:07 Before I went on the Appalachian Trail, I had to get leave no trace certified.

6:13 It's to make sure that when I'm hiking in camping in the wilderness,

6:17 I leave it in better condition than when I found it.

6:21 Always clean up after yourself.

6:23 Let's take a look with the binoculars.

6:26 Whoa.

6:27 I can see the apartments.

6:29 Oh.

6:29 Oh, there's a really pretty bird.

6:31 I think it's good for bird watching.

6:36 Watch your step.

6:37 It's a little steep here.

6:39 Going down is really hard on my knees.

6:42 I feel like they're going to give out.

6:45 It's a little slippery, too.

6:47 Wa!

6:47 That's a big drop.

6:54 I know this is not going to look cool on camera.

6:56 Okay, trail running.

7:03 There's so many huge boulders here.

7:05 I didn't know I was going bouldering today.

7:10 Woohoo!

7:11 I see signs of life.

7:13 We made it.

7:15 W another great view of the fall colors.

7:19 They're stunning.

7:20 The camera just doesn't capture its beauty.

7:27 Oh, someone feeds you.

7:27 Well, huh.

7:29 Can we take him home?

7:30 I think he's good.

7:31 That's true.

7:33 I love Korea.

7:34 You guys think of everything.

7:35 We don't have this in the US.

7:37 Let's clean up and get all the dust and bugs and nasty stuff off me.

7:46 Food.

7:49 John food at the bottom of a mountain is always the best.

8:03 I love acorn jelly and I heard that it's handmade here, so it must be great.

8:10 I also got some dongju.

8:13 I love traditional Korean alcohol, but I'm not going to lie,

8:18 it always gives me a killer headache the next day.

8:22 I hope that's not the case tomorrow.

8:24 Fingers crossed.

8:26 Cheers.

8:29 Postthike macoli.

8:31 It's different.

8:33 Let's dig in.

8:40 I love however they season this.

8:42 It's addicting.

8:44 I'm starving after that hike.

8:50 I'm content.

8:51 I'm already forgetting about how tired I was hiking up that mountain.

8:55 This is making it all better.

9:00 I'm going to enjoy the rest of my meal.

9:03 Thank you so much for watching and see you next time.

9:07 Bye.
