BARK

0:00 Where does Digby like to be pet?

0:01 a butt scratch?

0:02 He usually does this thing where he like

0:03 starts digging his head into the Here we go.

0:07 It's the the head thing.

0:08 Yeah.

0:08 There we go.

0:09 It's the Digby the head thing.

0:11 I mean, this is kind of like our day all day.

0:16 Hey guys, welcome to Who's A Good Guest.

0:18 This is the show where I get to hang

0:19 out with big time celebrities like Jennifer Goodwin, you know,

0:21 from Once Upon a Time, Zootopia 2,

0:24 but we also get to hang out with her amazing dog.

0:26 Jenny, who's this?

0:27 This is Sir Digby George Barkley Barkley Dallas, but we call him Digby.

0:31 Star of the show today.

0:33 Up, here he goes.

0:34 You might want to get this.

0:35 Right here, here he goes.

0:37 Good job, bud.

0:47 All right, introduce me.

0:48 Tell [music] me everything I need to know about Digby.

0:50 Sir Digby George Barkley Barkley Dallas.

0:52 Barkley Barkley is spelled two different ways.

0:54 First, it's b a r c l a y.

0:57 Okay.

0:56 And then the second time it's b a r k l e y.

0:59 Explain further.

1:00 Okay.

1:00 Well, [laughter] we just felt like he was

1:02 a fancy dog and required a fancy [music] name.

1:04 But as you know, there's the name and then what you actually call the dog.

1:06 Yeah, we call him Digby, Digs, Digby-Doo, Digby-Doo-Dah.

1:10 And everything's always in this voice and then he knows it's for him.

1:14 Josh Dallas, my husband,

1:15 made up this voice and I know and then you know we're talking about you.

1:19 [laughter] You really got his attention, didn't you?

1:20 does.

1:20 That's how he does.

1:22 What's Digby's vibe outside in the world?

1:24 Like you're you're walking Digby, Josh is walking Digby.

1:26 Is Digby a puller?

1:27 I trained Digby by myself, which is why he pulls and jumps up on people.

1:35 But he doesn't go to the bathroom in the house.

1:37 That's something.

1:38 [music] He doesn't chew on anything.

1:40 Who are we talking about, Josh or Digby right now?

1:42 Well, just Digby, actually.

1:46 [laughter] You want to play?

1:49 Do you even know how to use this?

1:50 What do you think?

1:51 You want to try and pull on this?

1:52 What do you [laughter] think?

1:53 What do you think?

1:54 Like, Mom, you're weird.

1:56 It's a powerful voice.

1:57 I almost grabbed it.

1:58 can throw him a ball.

1:58 He he will chase a ball.

1:59 Let's see it.

2:00 Show off your stuff.

2:03 Like you're supposed to bring it back.

2:04 You're like, this is what happens when I'm in charge of training.

2:07 Dig.

2:07 See, I'm telling you, my training skills not so good.

2:11 want to see mine.

2:11 Don't worry.

2:12 We didn't do a good job.

2:13 But it's just still so fun.

2:14 So, who cares?

2:15 He's a happy dog.

2:16 We just cuddle.

2:17 That's it.

2:18 That's our whole day [laughter] is cuddling.

2:26 This is like unbroken eye contact.

2:27 I feel [laughter] like we're in love.

2:29 He's a human.

2:29 Okay, so Jenny, were you always a dog person?

2:31 I had a grandmother.

2:33 She felt very passionately that children should have dogs.

2:36 Right.

2:37 And so, I had it in my head that that was

2:40 something that we had to do at some point.

2:43 Did the kids immediately acclimate to the dog?

2:46 gosh.

2:46 So, we didn't tell them that this was happening.

2:49 We wanted it to be a surprise.

2:52 So, we came home, and I do have the video, by the way.

2:54 Uh Amazing.

2:55 It which is magical [music] of them seeing Digby for the very first time,

2:59 and he did what he does, which is like give you mouth kisses,

3:02 and like rolls over on his back.

3:04 And the rest is history.

3:05 Has Digby ever been on set with either you or Josh?

3:09 No.

3:10 He hasn't.

3:11 How do you think he would respond?

3:12 Is he a home body, like a home body Digby,

3:14 or Josh has tried to like he just went

3:16 and he shot something in New York for a few weeks,

3:18 [music] and he tried to convince me to let Digby go with him,

3:20 and I was like, absolutely not under any

3:22 circumstances you're taking this dog away from me.

3:23 [laughter] Like this dog I mean truly spoons with me at night.

3:26 Like puts his head on my pillow, and like [music] we spoon,

3:29 and sometimes he puts his arm over me.

3:33 [laughter] Don't you?

3:33 Um so, yeah, I won't let him go [music] with Josh.

3:35 I mean, maybe he'll go with me sometime when I'm around.

3:37 If Digby will get to eat Digby in the the voiceover booth.

3:40 That's nice.

3:41 I got to do some stuff.

3:42 this is a superstar.

3:43 It's undeniable.

3:44 If you wanted to monetize this, you could.

3:48 [laughter] But by the way, the greatest thing ever

3:49 is just that like [music] catching my husband going, "You're just so handsome."

3:55 [laughter] Do you see a different side of Josh with

3:57 Oh, absolutely.

3:58 Cuz also I feel like any of us can be in in like a bad mood.

4:01 And then once we're around Digby, we're like, "It's all good now." cake holes?

4:06 Digby's here.

4:07 good now.

4:08 Where does Digby like to be pet?

4:09 Yeah, he likes a butt.

4:10 Do you want a butt scratch?

4:12 He usually does this thing where he like

4:13 starts digging his head into the Here we go.

4:17 Is it the head Yeah.

4:18 There we go.

4:19 It's the head thing.

4:20 It's the head thing.

4:21 Just do the head thing.

4:23 Right?

4:25 There we go.

4:26 classic Digby move.

4:27 This is a classic I mean,

4:28 this is kind of like our This is kind of our day all day.

4:31 I've a reading chair and he jumps in the reading chair with me

4:34 and he'll just like jump on my lap and like I'm like,

4:36 "All right." I just put the book on top of him

4:37 and then we just read like that like all day.

4:40 And he loves going in the car.

4:41 Good in the car.

4:42 But he actually does freak out really hard if the windshield wipers are on.

4:50 Oh, and you know, I have two boys [music] and I've

4:52 got the sense of humor of like a fourth grade boy.

4:56 Bodily functions we find very funny.

4:58 Okay, tell me about that.

4:59 His bodily functions are a nightmare because

5:01 he basically only eats like this fish kibble.

5:03 So like you know when he needs to go out.

5:05 Sometimes it's like, "Oh, fishy farts.

5:07 Get him out.

5:08 Somebody take him out."

5:10 [laughter] But um he gets really really really startled.

5:13 Like will jump in the air if one of my boys What was that?

5:19 it's kind of amazing.

5:20 Challenge for you.

5:21 You're a consummate voice acting queen,

5:24 the star of the biggest animated film ever, Zootopia 2.

5:28 So I think you are very well equipped for this challenge.

5:30 I'm so excited.

5:31 I'm going to show you a photo of a dog.

5:33 You tell me what it sounds like you think in in your head.

5:35 Oh, wow.

5:36 Okay.

5:37 Like I feel like he's uh It's like there's

5:38 something about being little that makes my voice go up.

5:40 I don't know what that's about.

5:42 I feel like this is like a Digby do dog.

5:46 [laughter] Yeah, and I think this guy's like cool.

5:47 So chill.

5:48 He clearly smokes.

5:52 [laughter] I I feel like this is a lady dog.

5:53 Yes, I'm going to give her a lady voice.

5:57 And I think that one just sounds like the way

6:00 a human sounds when the human's talking to that dog.

6:04 [laughter]

6:04 Yeah, I think we cast this whole very well.

6:06 Meanwhile, I feel like everybody's always asking me,

6:08 "How did you find like the Judy Hopps voice?" And I'm like, "It's this."

6:16 [laughter] What you hear is what you get.

6:18 We were talking before, every dog owner I feel like dreams up a business

6:21 either inspired by their experience with their dog or just generally.

6:24 What's your business idea?

6:25 Okay, so we're a onesie house.

6:28 I think that we should have custom like your dog onesies.

6:33 I would love a Lucy onesie, my dog, or a Digby onesie.

6:37 Like here's the color like here's the shapes and then where

6:39 I want like the butt patch like his white butt patch.

6:43 It's a little freaky.

6:44 You know, the entire family could dress up as Digby.

6:46 How would Digby react to Walt looking at his family dressed up as him?

6:49 he'd be like that makes sense.

6:53 [laughter] This this tracks.

6:53 And we call it We call it Jennifer.

7:00 Like legit, we can do this, right?

7:01 Like that's makeable.

7:02 Like surely there's actually already like a like

7:05 actually that sounds really very like easily done.

7:08 Here's a challenge for you.

7:10 You've worked with some amazing actors over your career.

7:12 I've turned them into dogs.

7:13 You tell me if you can tell who this is, okay?

7:16 I'm so excited.

7:17 we go.

7:19 I mean, is that Bateman?

7:23 [laughter]

7:23 Bateman.

7:23 Something in the smile, right?

7:25 Right?

7:26 Yeah.

7:26 Yeah.

7:27 Yeah.

7:28 I can see it.

7:29 And I need him to see this now.

7:34 This is

7:35 Kate?

7:35 Yes, this is Kate Hudson.

7:38 You're something borrowed co-star.

7:39 Yeah.

7:39 Yeah.

7:40 Yeah.

7:40 I just saw her again.

7:43 Did

7:43 No.

7:43 much prettier.

7:44 Though that's a very pretty dog, no offense.

7:45 It's a beautiful dog.

7:46 It's a beautiful dog.

7:47 I'm better at this than I thought.

7:48 Now I'm going to like No, no, no, you got this.

7:55 Is that Joaquin?

7:58 [laughter] Hi.

7:58 No, like actually I'm now I'm like I should

8:00 have a job where this is what I [laughter] do.

8:02 I'm getting cocky.

8:04 Aw.

8:06 Julia?

8:07 You are a savant.

8:08 Thank you.

8:09 Thank you.

8:09 [laughter] Thank you.

8:11 It's almost like I've spent years going if you guys were dogs

8:16 Now I know you're picturing me as a dog [laughter] right now.

8:21 [snorts] Is this my husband?

8:24 [laughter] It is your husband.

8:25 OH MY GOD, I REALLY got it right.

8:28 [laughter] That's amazing.

8:29 them all right.

8:30 cute.

8:31 I've got a really cute husband.

8:32 That's a [laughter] really cute dog.

8:34 Yeah, there's something about the structure that really works.

8:37 This is I'm so proud of myself, you guys.

8:39 of you, too.

8:39 We're proud of you.

8:40 Thank you.

8:40 [laughter] Tell me if this is a doggy do-do or doggy don't-don't.

8:46 Feeding your dog from the table, is that a do-do or don't-don't?

8:50 Don't-don't.

8:50 Okay, Josh does do-dos,

8:52 [music]

8:52 does-dos.

8:52 He does-does and then he [laughter] doesn't-doesn't understand why-why.

8:56 The dog-dog jumps up on the table.

8:58 Dressing your dog up in human [music] clothing, a do-do or don't-don't?

9:01 Like Halloween style, yes, for sure.

9:05 Okay.

9:05 Next year he's going to be a hot dog.

9:06 I feel like my favorite thing was he was a mini and he's been like super dog.

9:10 Um what else have you been, buddy?

9:12 Speak.

9:15 Speak.

9:17 Yeah, right.

9:18 Someday.

9:18 [laughter] An Instagram account for Digby, is that a do-do or don't-don't?

9:22 I'm into it for other people and I love actually looking at people's dogs.

9:25 Right.

9:26 Instagram account.

9:27 I mean so I wouldn't take the time is what I'm saying.

9:29 Letting your dog sleep in bed under the covers, a do-do or don't-don't?

9:32 I mean do-do.

9:33 That's a super do-do.

9:34 Super do-do.

9:37 [laughter]

9:36 He's so warm and cuddly.

9:38 I know.

9:39 Kissing your dog on the mouth.

9:41 I don't love him licking my face.

9:43 It just I don't want anybody licking my face.

9:46 Yeah, the boys love it.

9:48 Yeah, taking your dog into a restaurant.

9:50 I don't do that.

9:50 But also because I don't want to be I don't want to have to be like monitoring.

9:54 What about celebrating Digby's birthday?

9:56 Oh, yes, do do.

10:00 [laughter] You get a cake for your birthday.

10:03 And like little What are they called?

10:04 Like um Pupcakes.

10:05 Yeah.

10:05 Yes.

10:06 Yeah, yeah.

10:07 He likes those.

10:07 He can have those.

10:09 [laughter] Calling your dog a fur baby.

10:10 Yeah, do do.

10:11 Okay, so also I do have a thing where

10:13 I feel like people who don't have human kids Right.

10:16 I feel like they come apologetic in explaining [music]

10:19 like but my dog is like and I'm like no, no, no, I agree with you.

10:22 You are allowed to say this is your kid.

10:25 Yes.

10:25 Totally valid.

10:26 Yeah.

10:27 Did Digby have a good time?

10:28 what?

10:29 I think he's had the time of his life.

10:30 Thanks for showing Digby so much love.

10:34 He's a star.
