Hegseth Just HUMILIATED Himself... It's Going VIRAL

Harry Sisson

0:00 Well, folks, Pete Hegseth did not have a good day today.

0:02 Maybe he'll make up for it by going to the bar tonight,

0:05 but we shall see on that one.

0:06 He testified before Congress about a variety of topics including Ukraine,

0:10 Iran, our rights here at home, and it certainly didn't go well.

0:14 At the slightest amount of pressure from a senator asking him a question,

0:19 he really melts down and goes on a tirade,

0:21 kind of like a Trump tirade of sorts, doesn't answer the question,

0:24 and he opened the hearing by admitting

0:26 that the administration is breaking the law.

0:29 Not a great start for the Secretary of Defense who has a hot temper.

0:33 We have seen that many times before, but let's start with the first clip.

0:36 Let's not waste any time,

0:37 and let's start here with the admission that they are in fact breaking the law.

0:41 Hegseth is making clear that he's still refusing

0:43 to spend congressionally allocated funds to support Ukraine.

0:47 Yet another example of Donald Trump, Pete Hegseth,

0:50 and all the people around them doing whatever they can to help Russia.

0:53 These are congressionally appropriated funds,

0:55 meaning they legally have to be spent on Ukraine, and they're not doing it.

1:00 So, take a look at this back

1:00 and forth between a Democratic Senator and Pete Hegseth.

1:04 for Ukraine.

1:05 So far, your department has not spent a dime of that $400

1:08 million despite repeated follow-up requests from the chairman and myself.

1:14 In a call just last week,

1:16 your staff indicated we will see a spend plan for those funds this week.

1:21 Will you commit to spending those $400 million for weapons for Ukraine,

1:26 and when will we receive your department spend plan?

1:30 And I appreciate that question.

1:32 Um the $400 million for European capacity building

1:35 has been released from the secretary's war's office,

1:38 and we'll work with UCOM to make sure they spend it accordingly and properly,

1:42 which we have all faith that they will.

1:45 Mr.

1:45 Secretary, when will this subcommittee get

1:48 the associated spend plan for the $400 million?

1:53 Yeah, I mean, we will work with your committee

1:54 to make sure that the spend plan as allocated.

1:57 I want to make sure you come is fully informed in how they want to spend this.

2:01 They're the closest to the problem set.

2:02 And so working with them to ensure that you

2:04 have the spin plan will work with you.

2:06 Mr.

2:07 Secretary, thank you, but it's May and this has been

2:09 the law since January and you or your representatives

2:12 have been asked this repeatedly on a bipartisan

2:15 basis by members of this committee and I

2:18 think dragging our feet on this small investment

2:21 in Ukraine's defense sends exactly the wrong signal

2:25 to Putin at a time when the contest for freedom has its front lines in Ukraine.

2:32 See, I I think the senator is right that it

2:35 sends the wrong message to Putin for the United States,

2:37 but for Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth,

2:39 I actually think it's sending the right message.

2:41 That is that they support Putin,

2:43 that they've often defended Putin or often do what he

2:47 wants them to do when it comes to funding Ukraine.

2:50 And I just think this is another example.

2:51 You can see how evasive he's being with this line of questioning.

2:54 Like, oh, we've released the funds.

2:56 We'll work closely to make sure it gets spent.

2:58 It's May.

2:58 The law got signed in in June.

3:01 And you know, we're going to get you the spending plan at some point.

3:04 We're going to work closely with you to make sure that happens.

3:06 It's May.

3:06 It's been the law since January.

3:09 You know, this is this is absurd.

3:11 I mean, this is just a complete delay

3:12 and they're doing it in my view to help Putin.

3:15 There is no other reason why this administration would be breaking

3:18 the law this way specifically on Ukraine if if not for, you know,

3:23 helping out their buddy.

3:24 Here's another back and forth I want to show you where Patty Murray,

3:27 Senator, Democrat said, is it your position that American families

3:30 should be forced to give up child care

3:32 and health care coverage so you can

3:34 have 1.5 trillion dollars for the military budget,

3:37 which they are asking for.

3:38 They're asking for 1.5 trillion dollars increasing the budget

3:41 by half a trillion dollars for the year.

3:44 And then Pete Hegseth, once again,

3:46 evading the question, but also endorsing Donald Trump's budget.

3:49 Just take a look.

3:50 Right now, Mr.

3:50 Secretary, people are paying four, five, even six,

3:54 seven dollars a for gas and American taxpayers are now

3:57 on the hook as well for paying for this disastrous war.

4:01 You're spending families' hard-earned tax dollars

4:04 on a war that many strongly oppose.

4:07 And you're forcing people to pay more at the pump,

4:09 and yet you're not even providing a real

4:11 breakdown for the cost of this war so far.

4:14 We have no real details, so you have indicated that.

4:18 And yet now you want Congress to send you one and a half trillion dollars more.

4:24 To me, that is unacceptable, and I hope our Republican colleagues will join

4:27 us in not only rejecting that absurd request,

4:32 but in insisting that the American people get the actual answers

4:35 on how much money their money we're we are spending on this.

4:39 Now, let me turn and say,

4:41 Secretary Heck says that the president has called Medicaid,

4:46 Medicare, and child care little scams and said,

4:49 quote, "We're fighting wars we cannot take uh

4:52 care of daycare." I'm just trying to understand that.

4:55 Is it your position,

4:56 since you're asking taxpayers for another half a trillion dollars for the war,

5:01 that American families should be forced

5:03 to give up child care and health coverage

5:05 so that you can have one and a half trillion dollars for this budget?

5:10 Senator, that's that's not my department.

5:12 I certainly support this, and I also support the president's efforts

5:15 to find and remove fraud wherever possible in a general sense.

5:19 And we do that in our department as well and every step.

5:22 talking about fraud.

5:23 I actually asked whether an American family should lose their health

5:27 care or their child care to pay for this budget.

5:30 That is literally what the president suggested.

5:35 The president has proposed a historic 1.5 trillion-dollar budget

5:38 that will defend the nation and confront threats like Iran,

5:41 which previous presidents allowed to happen, as Senator Graham pointed out.

5:45 Previous administrations said they wanted to take care

5:47 of this problem and they did not and he's doing it.

5:53 is what are they being asked to give

5:54 up for this one and a half trillion dollars?

5:57 That's where I was talking about and Trump propagandist in action.

6:03 We just saw it.

6:04 Look at how he just evaded that question.

6:06 Is it your view that Americans should give up these things,

6:10 child care, health care and more, to be frank with you, to pay for this war,

6:14 to give the military 1.5 trillion with a T dollars this year?

6:21 And Pete Hegseth automatically goes into Trump defense mode,

6:24 automatically goes in defend the cult leader mode and says Trump has appointed

6:28 a historic put forward a historic budget that is going to protect Americans.

6:32 Bull crap.

6:33 Total bull crap from Pete Hegseth.

6:34 He knows it, we all know it.

6:35 You can see the look on his face when he starts to answer that.

6:38 I mean, look at this.

6:39 Slimy, spineless Trump propagandist.

6:42 I'm calling it like it is because that's

6:44 what we're looking at right here with Pete Hegseth.

6:46 Not surprising, we've seen this before from him,

6:48 but it doesn't take away from how disgusting the uh you know,

6:52 the talking points from this administration are.

6:54 Let's move on to the next clip where Pete Hegseth is

6:57 again back and forth with a Democratic Senator saying, you know,

7:00 our our the Senator says our President said that we

7:02 never asked for and never received anything from our NATO allies.

7:05 Was that your experience in Afghanistan?

7:07 And once again, you're seeing Pete Hegseth do the regular, the usual,

7:11 which is just defend Donald Trump and his absurd comments no matter what.

7:14 becoming a burden Do you have any limitations.

7:16 I'm not talking about the troops.

7:18 Thank you.

7:18 Um our President said in Europe that we never

7:22 asked for and never received anything from our NATO allies.

7:25 Was that your experience in Afghanistan

7:27 serving and fighting alongside our NATO allies?

7:31 I have written extensively about that and the vast

7:33 majority of my experience was frustration

7:35 with the limits of what those troops were

7:38 able to do because of the political caveats,

7:40 rules of engagement and limits that came from their capitals.

7:42 don't doubt or question that about a third of all the combat

7:46 casualties in our war in Afghanistan were our NATO partners and allies.

7:49 I would have to go back and check that number, but I take your word for it.

7:52 Let me just assert that hundreds and hundreds

7:54 of service members from, as you put it,

7:56 Australia and the United Kingdom, as well as many other of our allies,

8:00 served, fought, and died alongside us.

8:02 So, I'm just going to simply say, in terms of our reliance on our partnerships,

8:07 I'll agree with the chairman that at a moment when Russia and China,

8:12 North Korea, and Iran are coming closer together and delivering

8:17 a bedeviling lethality in this ongoing war in Iran,

8:20 for which we don't have a clear strategy or clear answers,

8:24 our better strategy would be to partner more closely with Ukraine,

8:28 dig in deeper with our real values-based allies,

8:31 our treaty allies, in the Western Pacific and in Europe,

8:35 and together find a path out of this, rather

8:38 than berating them and bullying them for not coming along in a war they were not

8:42 consulted about or briefed on before it began.

8:45 I look forward to Yeah, the senator is taking a very common-sense position,

8:49 which is the antithesis of what this administration is.

8:53 You know, there's no common sense anywhere to be found.

8:56 No knowledgeable life anywhere to be found in this administration.

8:59 And the senator really taking Pete Buttigieg to school.

9:03 I mean, can you imagine He's a guy

9:04 that fought in Afghanistan, as he pointed out.

9:06 And he has the nerve to be like, "Well, you know,

9:08 I don't know about our NATO allies and their casualties in the Middle East.

9:11 I I I I can you know, I defer to you on that.

9:14 I I I have to have to go back and look at the numbers." You know the numbers.

9:17 You know if you don't, by the way,

9:19 as the Secretary of of the Department of Defense,

9:22 that's uh concerning if you don't know those numbers.

9:24 But assuming you do know those numbers, and you're playing dumb, it's gross.

9:28 It is gross what these administration officials do just to defend Donald Trump.

9:33 And there was more in this hearing,

9:34 just utter nonsense from the secretary, as per usual.

9:37 But I will leave you I will leave it there.

9:39 I won't take too much of your time because

9:40 really nobody needs to hear this much from Pete Hegseth.

9:44 Have an amazing rest of your day.

9:45 I hope you enjoyed.
