2:34 somebody stepping up and making a play.

2:35 I don't think the issue has been the roster with the Buffalo Bills.

2:38 They've had enough to be able to reach the Super Bowl,

2:41 but they continue to fall short for so many different reasons.

2:48 There's been so many of those moments

2:49 where guys aren't stepping up, making the plays.

2:52 History is against him.

2:55 rookie head coaches to be able to reach the Super Bowl.

2:57 Jim Cwell being the last one in 2009.

3:00 So for Joe Brady, this is a huge hill to climb

3:03 up in his first year taking over as a head coach.

3:06 Look, the familiarity on the offense is going to help.

3:09 The relationship with Brady and Josh Allen is going to help.

3:12 I think DJ Moore is a big big asset for them.

3:14 I don't know that they've done enough to get over that hump, but we shall see.

3:19 Yeah, I love what they did in the offseason,

3:21 JMack, and I think you're hitting it on the head.

3:23 I think a new voice is much needed in Buffalo uh with a new head coach.

3:27 Favorite offseason move is Jim Leonard as a defensive coordinator.

3:30 I'm a huge fan of Jim Leonard.

3:32 He's a football soant.

3:33 The same way we talk about the Cal Shanahan tree offensively,

3:36 that's how Jim Leonard seen sees defenses.

3:39 Bradley Chub much needed.

3:41 And then also you talked about DJ Moore.

3:44 Skyler Bale is one of those receivers that they

3:46 got out of Yukon in the draft mid round,

3:49 but [music] I see him contributing early and I love the combination of him,

3:54 Khil Shakir, and DJ [music] Moore.

3:56 You kind of have these three doit all receivers

3:59 and you pair that with a quarterback [music] like Josh Allen,

4:01 a level of quarterback that neither one of Bell [music] or DJ

4:05 Moore has ever played with, you have the opportunity to say,

4:08 "Okay, well, now you have playmakers on the outside." Also something

4:11 that they've lacked since Stephon Diggs has gone away from that offense.

4:15 After that week one game, Buffalo got rolling.

4:18 Baltimore really never did.

4:19 They finished eight and nine and John Harbaugh,

4:22 their longtime head coach, lost his job.

4:24 Ravens hired former Chargers defensive coordinator

4:27 Jesse Mter to [music] replace him.

4:29 They also lost center Tyler Linderbal in free agency to the Raiders.

4:33 They briefly had Max Crosby in a trade with Vegas,

4:35 but then they backed out of that.

4:37 signed defensive ends Trey Hendrickson and Kus Campbell as well.

4:41 [music] The ageless Campbell spoke yesterday about why he decided

4:44 to come back to Baltimore after a few years away.

4:48 Eric Dasa called pretty much every year,

4:51 but this year it was more like I got to have you, you know,

4:53 like, you know, you know, this is going to make a big difference.

4:56 And uh and I felt that and I believe that, you know,

4:59 this team has all the tools to to to win.

5:02 Where can I go where I can make plays and win games?

5:06 and Baltimore made the most sense when it came down to that.

5:09 Oh, Kas Campbell sure has seen a lot of football when

5:13 he says the Ravens have all the tools to win this year.

5:16 Do you agree with him?

5:18 I agree.

5:18 And I I think Kas Campbell is a big piece of that.

5:21 We came out in the same draft class.

5:22 I've been out of football for almost 10 years and he's still [laughter] playing.

5:25 But him as a leader,

5:28 besides the fact he's a productive defensive lineman, versatile, and a leader,

5:32 the fact he's a leader in the locker room is important because there's

5:35 two things that need to happen for the Ravens to be a contender.

5:38 Number one, they got to establish an identity,

5:40 an identity that is not going to be easy after

5:42 moving on from John Harbaugh with Jesse Mentor coming in there,

5:46 which means that identity better be rooted in defense.

5:48 And number two, Lamar Jackson has to stay healthy.

5:50 Why are the Ravens a contender?

5:52 Well, the same reason they're always a contender because Lamar Jackson is

5:55 such a unique talent and [music] anytime he's healthy and they are clicking,

5:59 there's a force multiplier that happens with this team that makes

6:02 [music] them one of the best teams in the National Football League.

6:05 So, if they can do those two things, Campbell's exactly right.

6:08 They have the guy at the quarterback position number eight,

6:10 that means that they're a contender.

6:12 I love what you're saying,

6:13 especially with Kas Campbell because you don't know what's going to happen

6:15 with Justin with Nambi Matab with everything he's going through with his injury.

6:20 And then you mentioned Lamar Jackson.

6:21 The fact that he's been in the building

6:23 throughout the course of the off seasonason is huge.

6:25 They moved on from Harbaugh mentors there.

6:27 That shows that he [music] is loving the changes and that he

6:30 has all the way bought into what is going on now.

6:33 Because [music] where this team goes is going to happen

6:35 between the relationship with Lamar Jackson and Declan Doyle,

6:38 the new offensive coordinator who's going to bring a different [music]

6:41 system over where he's going to be using multiple tight ends.

6:44 He's going to be trying to get the run game going and then

6:46 leaning on the playaction pass where

6:49 Lamar Jackson is special in that department.

6:51 Last year when he came back from injury

6:53 seemed a little bit slower and then he got

6:55 to that last game against Pittsburgh and we

6:57 saw the marvelous Lamar that we were used to.

6:59 Can he continue that trajectory and get back

7:02 to being the Lamar we know him as this season?

7:04 He is in attendance for those voluntary workouts as you mentioned.

7:07 Always a good thing for the Ravens when Lamar Jackson is in the building.
