0:00 What's up y'all?

0:00 It's X.

0:01 I'm in the kitchen cooking with my mother for Mother's Day.

0:04 Action.

0:05 Juju asked me on the sideline, "Did you just get a body?" A girl.

0:09 I'm like, "Dude, that was my mom."

0:13 Put the lid back on and put it down.

0:14 No, I'm just kidding.

0:15 Okay, the real story.

0:17 Day doesn't like to go anywhere.

0:19 We don't like to talk about that.

0:24 What are we going to start with, son?

0:28 Whatever.

0:28 You don't know.

0:29 No, no, no, no, no, no.

0:30 You start with the eggs.

0:32 You throw the butter on there first.

0:33 Good job.

0:34 Rice on this side.

0:35 Right.

0:36 Okay.

0:36 Well, no.

0:36 The rice doesn't go first.

0:38 We do.

0:38 Now, you do the vegetables and the bacon and eggs.

0:41 Today, we're cooking a bachi.

0:43 One of my favorite meals.

0:44 My mom used to make it all the time when I was back at the house.

0:48 Now, we reliving it.

0:49 Let's go ahead, chef.

0:50 Let's get ready.

0:51 All right, Z.

0:52 If you want to help me out here,

0:54 I could have you put the bacon at the far end for me, please.

0:58 I thought I was just handing at the for chef.

1:02 Sue chef.

1:03 Oh, here.

1:04 I was just handing it to you.

1:06 Such a great assistant.

1:07 Okay, here we go.

1:08 Just tell me what you need.

1:09 I got you.

1:09 All right.

1:10 So, you're the handler as in you hand it off.

1:14 That's a soup test.

1:15 Got you.

1:17 No.

1:16 And a taste tester.

1:18 Yeah, that too.

1:19 So, I used to go to this one place called Ido Ya.

1:21 Me and my mom and my little sister.

1:24 And I was like, "Mom,

1:24 you got to learn how to cook this." And she figured out how to cook it.

1:27 and ever since.

1:29 Okay, the real story.

1:30 Z doesn't like to go anywhere, so we door down.

1:33 So, you're going to do the other story.

1:35 What makes a special is love, first of all.

1:39 But, um, it's just the basic ingredients.

1:42 So, you start with your eggs,

1:44 you've got your bacon, you're going to do the veggies.

1:48 I pick out the green beans cuz he doesn't like those.

1:51 Um, that's why I say it's habachi the zeway.

1:54 Um, and then you put those together.

1:57 You're gonna I kind of scoot them to the end.

2:00 Once they're done, I throw on the rice that you cook the night before.

2:03 It's always better the night before is what they say.

2:05 Any girls that take a year?

2:10 What do we talk about?

2:12 Yes and no.

2:13 We didn't have a lot to pick from.

2:15 What we talked about?

2:16 We didn't have a lot I was about to say it.

2:18 We didn't have a lot to pick from when it came to it.

2:22 So what I could put on the table actually he ate.

2:26 Um so I didn't really have a problem with him.

2:30 I'm fine with that answer.

2:33 Yes.

2:32 Do you approve?

2:34 All right.

2:36 Celebrating your mom's I feel like this for all moms

2:38 since you know my foundation is a single mother's foundation.

2:41 I feel like celebrating your mothers on Mother's Day

2:43 is a is a big thing cuz that's their day

2:45 of other than their birthday is showing your appreciation

2:48 as as them being your mother and all the sacrifices,

2:53 all the things they did for you.

2:55 Obviously, every mom had a sacrifice,

2:56 but there's things that you know you and your mom had on a personal level.

2:59 Me and my mom went through my little sisters don't understand it.

3:03 We went through different things than my little sister saw.

3:05 So, any chance I get, I get to give back to my mom, I'mma do it.

3:10 I feel like she works harder than a lot of people

3:13 give her credit for and a lot of people don't see it.

3:15 I see it every day so I know.

3:19 I love you.

3:20 Know it know it.

3:25 Man, I admire so much about my son.

3:29 I know what he's overcome to get where he's at.

3:34 I know all the sacrifices he's made.

3:37 I know how hard he works.

3:39 It's just his hard work in in trying to get not only

3:42 like setting goals and saying what he wants to have and accomplish,

3:46 but I watch him put in the work for it and I'm

3:48 really proud of that and I guess he got it from me.

3:54 I actually like this.

3:57 This is my mother's day for real.

4:01 Can you hand me the garlic salt, please?

4:06 Thank you.

4:07 I'm going to use him for everything at this point.

4:10 Put the lid back on and put it down.

4:11 I'm just kidding.

4:14 I'm the sushef.

4:14 I hand you the stuff and I'll put the tops back on.

4:19 Sure.

4:19 Smart pepper on them.

4:30 He was mischievous in his younger years.

4:35 And I attribute that now as I've gotten older to him just being a leader.

4:39 He was just testing the boundaries.

4:41 He was testing the limits.

4:42 And you know, I wouldn't call it bad or anything.

4:46 It was just She doesn't She didn't know I was mischievous.

4:49 She just knows off of when I got older, I told her things that she didn't know.

4:53 Basically, confessed a lot.

4:56 I never got caught.

5:03 It's getting hot.

5:04 You know, moms used to cook the meals.

5:07 I'm coming in from outside.

5:08 You know, a Hall of Fame tag player.

5:12 So, you know, I think it came from just running outside.

5:14 I'm going keep it 100 with you guys.

5:15 I ain't going to lie.

5:16 But I think playing outside really helped me with my athletic ability.

5:20 What you think?

5:21 I really think at least.

5:23 Okay.

5:23 I'm going to say right now, kids used to play outside.

5:28 Yeah.

5:27 I don't see too many of them outside anymore.

5:29 So, when he told me he wanted to go to the NFL,

5:31 I believe he had a shot at the NFL cuz Xavier,

5:35 I'm not going to lie, he was just different.

5:38 What she wanted to say is I was I was crying.

5:41 He was good.

5:42 Like, he was always good.

5:43 And I don't know, it was just something about him.

5:45 He didn't just talk to talk.

5:47 Like, he always backed up whatever he said.

5:50 So, it was like from that moment that he said he wanted to go to the NFL,

5:54 mind you, I tried to give him other

5:57 options as a responsible parent would and should.

6:00 Um,

6:01 say my response.

6:03 Huh?

6:03 Say my response.

6:04 There is no plan B.

6:05 Plan A is plan B.

6:08 My best memor memory with my mom was I want to say my rookie year,

6:12 Saints game, but I uh I gave her the ball.

6:14 I'll say that's probably on her birthday cuz we had

6:16 like this I played every year in college on her birthday.

6:19 So just like it was a tradition like just to do

6:22 something nice and I scored like third quarter on her birthday.

6:26 I think it was fourth.

6:26 I ain't going to lie cuz I was like he I know he's going to do it.

6:30 Yeah.

6:30 I was trying to score my heart before the ball.

6:32 It was my 40th birthday at that which was really crazy.

6:35 And my first year that's crazy.

6:37 Yeah, it was special.

6:39 That was crazy.

6:41 Yeah.

6:41 Everybody didn't realize that was my mom.

6:43 Juju had asked me on silent, "Did you just get a ball?" A girl.

6:47 I'm like Judo's my mom.

6:51 The memory that just I don't know invokes this feeling when it comes to my son

6:58 is um when he broke the 40 yard dash record at the at the com.

7:04 You knew that?

7:04 Yeah.

7:04 You knew I was going to say it.

7:06 And he had already told me ahead of time

7:08 back in January he was going to run a 42.

7:12 So there was this excitement and he like lines up

7:15 and I just I'm just welling with like this like feeling.

7:18 He's probably more nervous than me.

7:19 Yeah.

7:20 This like pride and I but I know my son and I

7:22 know when he says he's going to do something like it's whatever

7:25 to get that done and he lines up false start comes back you

7:29 know flips his little dreads like he does you know and then he

7:33 I don't got him no mind.

7:34 I know.

7:35 Then he lines back up and hits that 425.

7:39 You know I'm yelling.

7:40 We're all yelling and screaming.

7:41 And I'm like, he's running again.

7:42 I was like, you guys, he's running again.

7:43 Let's not even get excited cuz he said he's going to break the record.

7:47 Like, he's going to run again.

7:49 And sure enough, he calls us.

7:50 He's like, I'm running again.

7:52 We're like, go get that.

7:54 What?

7:54 Go get it.

7:55 Go get it.

7:56 I also loved when he's like, I love you, man.

7:58 He's like this.

7:59 And I'm just like, my boy, I SEE YOU.

8:01 I love you so much.

8:03 And um yeah, then he lines up.

8:05 He runs a 422.

8:07 We're waiting for official time.

8:09 And you know they say that he actually broke it 421.

8:13 In that moment I just was like thankful to God like that's my son.

8:16 That's my son and I just love for that.

8:20 So whenever I watch that video it just takes me there.

8:23 It's a feeling.

8:25 But um no.

8:25 So we got the white rice, the jasmine rice we cooked last night.

8:29 We got our veggies and stuff going on over here.

8:31 So I'm going to add some seasoning to it.

8:34 Mix it all up.

8:35 And then once that's kind of going,

8:37 I'm going to throw on the steak on the other side so it's not cooking too long.

8:44 He likes it medium well.

8:48 Yeah.

8:50 You know, I'm never really in the kitchen long enough to be cooking

8:54 a 30 minute meal.

8:55 You know, my meals just click, so I don't need music.

9:00 You probably play music, don't you?

9:01 Yeah, I do.

9:01 You know what?

9:02 I like a little Anita Baker.

9:05 I like a little SWV sometimes.

9:10 I like um That was terrible.

9:14 And she definitely doesn't listen.

9:16 Yes, I do.

9:17 Some I said sometimes.

9:19 No, you don't.

9:21 Sometimes.

9:21 Boy,

9:22 listen to Kayn.

9:23 Kayn for real.

9:24 For real.

9:26 She doesn't play nothing.

9:27 She just said right now.

9:28 Zay, you haven't lived at our house for how long?

9:30 Mom, every time I call sisters cuz I play

9:33 I call you and I hear I know why cuz you used to steal my music.

9:37 Okay, we don't have to talk about that.

9:44 We're not playing there.

9:46 Okay, got Okay.

9:50 He has some hits back in the day and I be by his door

9:53 like I didn't know what the app was to get the music.

9:56 So I was like, "Okay, what did they say?" Uh, she ate it.

10:00 No, it's not it.

10:01 He come out LIKE, "MOM,

10:02 GET AWAY FROM US." And then once I got it, it wasn't cool anymore.

10:08 So, you know, whatever.

10:10 So, we got the steak on there.

10:12 And then I'm going to flip it.

10:14 And then I add a little mixture of um oyster sauce,

10:19 soy sauce, and a little brown sugar and some garlic.

10:24 Stir it around a little bit.

10:26 And we're almost done.

10:28 Oh, I just know I'mma have a good food.

10:30 But my mom makes everything literally that we like.

10:33 She learned how to make everything we like.

10:35 So I know I'mma be I'mma be good when she make food.

10:37 You ain't been helping.

10:39 Um, you ain't asking for the stuff.

10:42 Please hand me the garlic.

10:44 Thank you.

10:46 Um,

10:48 I ain't helping.

10:49 You ain't chef.

10:50 Pass me the stuff, please.

10:53 You want to?

10:54 No, I'm sticking to my rule.

10:55 All right.

10:56 I feel like I'm comfortable with my rug.

10:58 You know, a lot of people aren't comfortable with their rugs.

11:00 I feel like I'm comfortable with my doing an okay job.

11:03 I mean, you haven't asked me for nothing, though.

11:05 I kind of forgot.

11:08 All right, chef.

11:09 Would you like to try that and let me know if it's to your liking?

11:14 Oh, sir.

11:15 Sorry.

11:21 Yep.

11:21 See, this is where I come in, you know.

11:23 This is where I start.

11:24 Oh, when the food's done.

11:26 You're right.

11:31 You know I don't do greens, Mom.

11:33 Yeah.

11:33 Take them off.

11:33 Show them what you really do.

11:35 Wow.

11:35 You say, "Gee, you on camera." I ain't going to do this how I want to do it,

11:44 but you know, I get a couple cute bites.

11:47 You know, handle that.

11:51 No, I got to be cool on camera.

11:53 How long you think this will be gone?

11:54 Huh?

11:56 Shoot.

11:56 After I would have been making my plate,

11:59 by the time I go in there to like give him his drink, it's like gone.

12:02 Half gone.

12:03 I'm like, he's like, "Is there more on there?" I'm like,

12:06 I only made Anytime I get to spend with my son

12:11 just doing like what we normally did on a dayto-day.

12:14 Um, it feels good and I I enjoy it.

12:19 I'm busy a lot like he said with the foundation.

12:22 Um but I try at least one or two days when I'm here to just do

12:26 what you guys just saw here is what we do just we have some music on.

12:30 The dogs would be running around and this would

12:33 just and he'd be sitting over there

12:34 on the game and then I'd make my plate and be empty and go over there.

12:37 His be empty.

12:38 But this is what I enjoy doing.

12:40 Just our our usual our usual thing.

12:43 That's going to do it for that for that food blitz.

12:45 Look.

12:47 Oh, he look his eyes got big.

12:49 Uh-huh.

12:49 Speak.

12:51 You have speaking.
