VFX Artists Debunk UFO Sightings sent by FANS
Corridor Crew
0:01 This past year we have been helping to educate
0:02 people on how to spot fake AI videos.
0:04 This is why this is why we're all in trouble.
0:08 [laughter] Look look real to me.
0:09 We're changing it up.
0:11 Bringing it back to the classics.
0:12 We [music] can't let that distract us from the eternal alien presence.
0:16 We're not debunking AI, we're debunking ET.
0:23 [screaming] We are here to once and for all prove
0:25 that aliens are not only real, they're among us.
0:28 Which is why we have an email
0:30 called debunk@corridor.digital for people to send us clips.
0:32 And this episode is focused entirely [music]
0:34 on those clips that we've been sent.
0:35 These clips, some of them have never seen the light of day.
0:38 These are homegrown organic [music] UFO clips,
0:41 and we're going to take a look
0:42 at these with our scrutinizing visual effects eyes.
0:44 Our email right now might have actual real evidence of [music] aliens.
0:48 That's true.
0:49 Are they among us?
0:50 LET'S FIND OUT.
0:55 [laughter] EXCUSE ME.
1:01 SINCE OUR LAST UFO debunking episode,
1:03 there has been an ocean of fake AI generated video hitting the internet.
1:07 And the UFO community has been hit hard by this fakery.
1:10 So now we have to ask the question, what if ET AI?
1:13 What if ET AI?
1:15 Let's find out.
1:22 Whoa.
1:24 Is that Star you?
1:26 Star [laughter] you?
1:27 Is that Pokémon?
1:28 What do you guys think?
1:29 Is this real?
1:30 Well, but as much as I'd love it to be, I'm going to say heck no.
1:35 And I can just tell immediately that this is AI.
1:38 [music] The light looks so good though.
1:39 Like it actually looks like a real light source.
1:40 How the shadows from the trees and the plants actually move as it gets closer.
1:44 It does look good until it doesn't look good.
1:46 If you watch the shadows in this thing moves around,
1:48 it's giving the approximation of a correct looking light.
1:51 But the easiest thing to look at is
1:52 the shadow at the base [music] of the telephone pole.
1:54 As that light moves,
1:55 that shadow should be rotating around that base of the telephone pole,
1:59 but it stays pointed the same direction the whole time.
2:01 Oh, you're right.
2:02 Yep.
2:02 100%.
2:03 There is one other huge tell to this being an AI image,
2:06 and that's when the security camera starts moving.
2:09 Yeah, I was There it is.
2:10 Yeah, I was going to say the whole camera is actually moving on the door frame.
2:14 I do like it from the perspective of like it's just cool imagery.
2:17 Like it's fun to look at, but yeah, this thing is obviously it's AI.
2:20 Security cam footage or like Ring doorbell type
2:23 footage [music] is pretty widespread with AI video.
2:27 Yeah.
2:28 Debunked.
2:28 Boom.
2:29 Man.
2:31 We got sent this email.
2:32 It's a Red Horizon Pulse.
2:34 Let's take a look at angle number one.
2:35 Two angles, multiple angles is the first indication that it would not be AI.
2:45 But this is definitely AI.
2:47 [laughter] I didn't even give me a chance to look at it.
2:50 I didn't even you could tell within a second that it's AI.
2:53 Where is the lightning coming from?
2:55 There's like little flashes of lightning from up above,
2:57 but we're looking down at the clouds.
3:01 Well, now there's an explosion.
3:03 Let's see the other angle.
3:08 Is this a different angle or is this just It's a totally different thing.
3:12 Totally different thing.
3:13 THAT'S A DIFFERENT IT'S ON IT'S UNDER THE CLOUDS NOW, and it's a beam.
3:15 It's a freaking beam.
3:17 That's dumb.
3:18 So the number one most common tip for spotting
3:21 AI video is is it 10 to 15 seconds long,
3:23 because that's what all the services give you these days.
3:25 [music] But wait a minute, this clip is longer than 10 to 15 seconds.
3:29 How are they making them longer than 15 seconds?
3:31 This is a technique known as image to video.
3:33 They take an image, they generate a video
3:35 from that, and partway through this video and hits the end,
3:38 they just take that last frame and continue feeding it.
3:42 Whoa.
3:43 That was That was the 15 second mark.
3:45 So That's the 15 second mark for sure.
3:47 just saw the part where they ran out of time and they fed in the last
3:51 frame to be the first frame and it starts a new video generated from that frame.
3:54 You can tell cuz it kind of looks like a jump cut,
3:57 but there's not really a jump cut happening.
4:00 Now I'm curious about the other one,
4:01 cuz the other one was roughly the same duration.
4:03 I'm guessing we have that same moment at 15 seconds
4:06 where it's going to kind of bug out a little bit.
4:07 Right here.
4:09 Boom.
4:09 There it is.
4:10 Immediate slow down on the explosion and then different action.
4:13 Yeah, it goes from all right, here's some red fire,
4:15 but if you take that as a still frame to prompt a new video,
4:18 it's going to be like, oh, big red fire, must be explosion.
4:22 Yeah.
4:22 I love that he didn't react to the massive
4:24 explosion in terms [music] of framing at all.
4:26 He didn't like even look at what that was.
4:30 [laughter] Oh, shoot.
4:30 No.
4:31 Debunked.
4:34 Well, I got a video clip for you that is not AI.
4:37 Really?
4:38 This is from a recent event where a UFO destroys two Russian missiles.
4:44 Hmm.
4:44 Oh.
4:45 Y'all look at this.
4:46 UFO [music] freezes the missiles in the air.
4:49 Pop.
4:49 Whoa.
4:50 They missed.
4:51 Uh-oh.
4:53 Boom.
4:54 So, do you recognize this shot?
4:56 Cuz I remember seeing this when it came out.
4:58 Yeah, these aren't UFOs.
4:59 This is the actual anti-missile system in Israel
5:01 trying to shoot down Iranian missiles coming in.
5:03 That's That's exactly it.
5:05 So those aren't two Russian missiles, they're Israeli [music] interceptors.
5:09 So the reason why people are like, oh, it's UFOs,
5:11 because we're kind of losing the context of where these are in 3D space.
5:14 Kind of looks like they're flying across the sky.
5:16 In reality, they're flying from the ground way up into the sky.
5:20 And that other star we see coming from the right,
5:23 it's not actually coming this way,
5:24 it's coming from way up there and coming down.
5:28 And these guys are coming up to meet it,
5:29 and they try to explode near the rocket that's coming in, but they miss.
5:33 And the rocket just keeps going.
5:34 It's moving way too fast.
5:36 And that's why it seems to accelerate towards the end.
5:38 It's not an alien speeding away, it's just getting closer to the camera.
5:42 I've always been watching this knowing that the missile's
5:44 coming in, but I just changed my point of view here like imagining it's an alien
5:47 running away from those and scooting across the sky.
5:49 I see now why people would be seeing that like, oh, the alien's waiting.
5:52 Oh, it got attacked and then it runs away scared.
5:55 But in reality, it's coming down towards us.
5:56 Now it's below the clouds and boom, it's the ground there.
5:59 Yeah, it's perspective.
6:00 Yeah.
6:00 We know what we're looking at here because
6:02 of the context of having seen other video clips.
6:04 But if you just think of it in a purely 2D fashion,
6:07 they're just moving across the sky.
6:08 Yeah, it looks completely static in the air there.
6:10 Debunked.
6:12 Whenever I say the UFO is real, they mean it's the UFO is real.
6:16 [laughter] [laughter] I got a funny story to tell you.
6:23 Come with me.
6:24 A while ago, I was in the middle of a video call,
6:28 but then it kind of got boring.
6:30 So what do I do?
6:30 Go on YouTube and just start watching videos in the middle of the call.
6:34 But what I don't realize though, is that I have a beautiful piece of art behind
6:38 me with a clear reflective piece of glass on it.
6:44 You can see exactly what I'm looking at at my screen.
6:47 [laughter] And so I sat there for a half hour.
6:49 I was on Reddit.
6:50 I was just looking at memes.
6:51 I got to change my ways.
6:53 I have to take this down and replace it.
6:57 [laughter] Which is perfect because today's sponsor is Displate.
7:00 If you're looking for some awesome art to hang,
7:02 check out Displate because it's a sleek
7:04 matte non-reflective finish on a piece of steel.
7:08 They're a premium alternative to paper posters and canvas prints.
7:13 They're made with extra durable steel
7:15 that won't give away what's on your screen.
7:17 The printing detail is super high and the colors are vibrant.
7:20 Best of all, they're super easy to hang.
7:22 You put a protective sticker on your wall to protect the paint.
7:25 You slap the magnet over that, and boom, the plates go up on the wall.
7:29 No holes, no power tools, no frustration.
7:32 Best of all, these guys have a huge selection of art.
7:35 We have Star Wars, Marvel, Call of Duty.
7:38 There's over 2 million works of art in the Displate catalog,
7:40 both original and licensed.
7:42 And you can even send in [music] your own to get your own custom prints.
7:45 Displate is offering a huge selection of Star Wars Displates right now as well.
7:49 He's got the low ground.
7:50 He's got the high ground.
7:51 Perfect.
7:52 I mean, the composition's amazing.
7:54 So if you want your walls to match my drip,
7:56 click the link in the description and use coupon code
7:59 corridor for at least 26% off your own Displate art.
8:02 May the fourth be with you.
8:03 Back to bunking.
8:05 This submission comes to New Mexico, and while they were there on this trip,
8:14 he saw something floating up in the sky, and he couldn't figure out what it was.
8:18 Honestly, I'm not really sure what to think of it.
8:20 Let's take a look.
8:25 That's the object floating up in space right there.
8:27 And his argument was that it's not moving with the wind.
8:30 Like the clouds are moving, but it's not moving.
8:33 It could be a drone.
8:34 A drone wouldn't appear white like that.
8:37 That's like bright white.
8:37 It's It's catching the sun.
8:39 It has to be catching the sun.
8:40 It's illuminated.
8:41 Like clouds are bright white like that because
8:43 they're being illuminated internally from the sunlight.
8:47 I'm inclined to say this is a weather balloon,
8:49 but that's like the biggest cop out.
8:51 It is, but it's also the biggest likelihood, unfortunately.
8:54 First and foremost, we as we learned in Project Loon,
8:57 there's different air currents in different parts of the atmosphere.
8:59 So if it is a weather balloon, it could be moving differently from the clouds
9:02 just by being at a different height.
9:03 I don't know if it's a weather balloon,
9:05 but I do think it's a high altitude [music] balloon of some sort.
9:09 And that would explain why it's not moving
9:11 as much because it's so much further away,
9:13 the parallax would create the illusion of no movement.
9:16 It says here that NASA runs its annual fall balloon campaign at Fort Sumner,
9:20 New Mexico at that time.
9:24 [laughter] Either way, we're seeing a lot of balloon activity around that time.
9:27 I mean, it's a balloon.
9:29 It's a balloon.
9:31 It's a balloon.
9:32 Debunked.
9:33 Thanks, Joshua, for submitting that.
9:34 You guys are always pointing out balloons,
9:36 but you're never pointing out what's inside the balloon.
9:40 So this footage comes to us from Colombia.
9:43 This is a real UFO.
9:45 I see a real spaceship here.
9:47 Let's take a look.
9:49 Look at this.
9:50 We found a UFO.
9:52 That is a UFO.
9:54 Oh, let's go.
9:56 Let's go.
9:58 That's like traditional design.
10:00 Oh, dude, this They followed the traditional design.
10:02 Oh, yes.
10:03 The most efficient shape for aliens.
10:05 Yeah.
10:06 So, first off, AI?
10:08 No.
10:09 feeling AI on this.
10:10 No, me neither.
10:11 I don't think so.
10:11 But I know what this is.
10:14 Wait, don't say it.
10:16 It's an alien.
10:17 Thank you.
10:18 Unless [laughter] it's an alien.
10:19 I'm sorry.
10:20 I'm going to say balloon again.
10:21 Feeling a little loony.
10:22 Hate to say balloon.
10:23 what about the jet engine in the beginning of the shot?
10:25 So, I know what this is, and it is not a balloon.
10:29 It's not a balloon?
10:32 Is hot air involved?
10:34 Am I looking at some hot air inside
10:37 of fabric that legally wouldn't be a balloon, but is basically a balloon?
10:46 Um actually, YOU'RE CORRECT.
10:49 YES!
10:49 YES!
10:49 IT IS not technically a balloon.
10:52 It's a lantern.
10:54 Oh.
10:55 Yeah, it's like one of those lanterns that they send up.
10:57 Yeah, they essentially use fire to heat up the air,
10:59 and because that hotter air is more buoyant
11:01 than the colder air around it, it floats upwards.
11:04 Same exact principle as a hot air balloon.
11:07 [clears throat] This is technically not a balloon.
11:09 What makes it not a balloon?
11:11 I consider a balloon to be a sealed container.
11:15 Uh-uh.
11:16 You said I consider.
11:17 That's subjective.
11:18 I'm looking for objectivity.
11:21 What defines a balloon?
11:22 A balloon is a flexible bag made of rubber, latex,
11:25 or other materials filled with gas such as helium or air.
11:28 Sealed at the neck.
11:34 [groaning] Well, leave a comment down below on who you think is right.
11:36 What is a balloon?
11:37 Where do you stand?
11:38 Whether or not it's a balloon or a lantern, this shot is debunked.
11:43 This next clip is from Eli Smith.
11:45 He sent us this weird line in the sky.
11:48 Saw a line in the sky?
11:52 Yeah.
11:51 Flying lions?
11:56 The heck is that?
11:57 That's a weird line [music] in the sky.
11:59 line in the sky?
12:01 I know what that is.
12:02 It's a chemtrail.
12:03 There's giant weather modification systems,
12:06 atmospheric terraforming, geoengineering.
12:09 I've heard of chemtrails before.
12:10 What's the conspiracy theory around these?
12:12 So, Nico, chemtrails are what the government puts into the airplanes
12:17 to disperse over all of us to control our thoughts.
12:20 And I don't like that you called it a conspiracy theory, by the way.
12:23 [laughter] Yeah.
12:22 So, people believe that the vapor trails of airplanes are actually
12:26 chemicals being spread by those airplanes that somehow influence our thoughts?
12:30 And make the frogs gay.
12:31 AND THE FREAKING FROGS GAY.
12:35 [laughter] THERE'S ZERO evidence supporting anything
12:37 about the entire concept of chemtrails.
12:39 But how how much chemicals do you even need to put in the air
12:42 from that high up to even have any
12:43 meaningful chemical get into you on the ground?
12:46 Like thousands of airplanes worth for a local area.
12:49 Look at me.
12:50 I made the gay frogs.
12:53 I think what we're seeing here is perspective match-up with a contrail
12:58 from an airplane that's going perfectly away from [music] us,
13:01 but is so high up, it looks vertical.
13:03 I've seen this with my own eyes before.
13:05 It's a trippy sort of illusion.
13:07 I legitimately think that's what it is.
13:08 I think it's a contrail as well.
13:10 Contrail, for those who don't know, by the way, condensation trail.
13:13 It's basically when like incredibly hot engine exhaust
13:16 meets the moisture in really cold air at altitude,
13:19 the soot particles inside of that exhaust serve as a condensation nuclei,
13:23 basically a surface that interacts with the moisture
13:26 on which it condenses and freezes into little
13:28 like icy crystals that we see form in the sky as like a vapor, so to speak.
13:32 But what's interesting about this one is it's dark.
13:35 Why is it dark?
13:36 Cuz the sun's not hitting it.
13:38 Yeah, you nailed it.
13:40 [laughter] It's I mean, look at the clouds around it.
13:41 It's the exact same color as the contrail
13:45 because [laughter] the sun is setting, of course.
13:46 The light is coming from behind, so it is self-shadowing.
13:49 The interesting thing, too, the fact that it just starts forming randomly.
13:52 Why is it not all the way along the horizon?
13:54 Oh, cuz of the conditions of the atmosphere during that section.
13:57 Yeah, exactly.
13:57 It's got to be specific conditions in which contrails can form.
14:00 And it has to do with humidity.
14:02 Yeah.
14:02 So, it's like usually you need high humidity for these to form.
14:06 If it's really dry, it'll form, but dissipate really quickly.
14:10 Humidity is not consistent across the atmosphere,
14:12 so you'll go through like literal like pockets of humidity.
14:15 And there's a bunch of, you know, this phenomenon having been witnessed.
14:18 Yeah, nothing to worry about, Eli.
14:20 It's just uh just a contrail.
14:21 Debunked.
14:25 So, we have an example of a contrail across the sky,
14:29 and then a star forms and disperses it.
14:33 But this is also like a 2-minute clip, so I sped it up.
14:37 Woah, it's burning it away.
14:41 This guy is crazy.
14:42 So, you can actually get rid of contrails by heating them up.
14:46 Interesting.
14:47 This feels a lot like visual effects.
14:49 I was wondering the same thing.
14:50 Do you guys want to get a better view of this because I stabilized the footage.
14:54 Oh, did you?
14:54 Notice we're not seeing any motion from the contrail.
14:57 It's just dissolving away.
14:59 [music] This does kind of look like a fractal noise transition.
15:03 That's what I was wondering.
15:04 I think if this was to be a visual effect,
15:07 he motion tracked the contrail cuz I think
15:09 it is real footage of a real contrail.
15:11 He comped in a clean plate of the sky around it and faded
15:14 out to have like a final sort of like it's all gone,
15:17 and then used [music] a combination of fractal noise and some masking,
15:21 and increasing the contrast of the fractal
15:23 noise pattern because the fractal noise
15:25 is going to give you like this interesting pattern of white and black,
15:28 and you can leverage that to make something
15:29 else [music] transparent where it's either white or black.
15:32 The thing that made me think this is a visual effects shot is
15:34 the ending plate there with like the feathered edges of the cloud going to blue.
15:38 It just clouds don't do that.
15:41 You know, there's edges to these clouds, so if there's an edge to the cloud,
15:44 it'd be a hard edge like everywhere else.
15:45 It's a hard edge.
15:47 It would just be a feathered transparency dip down to blue.
15:50 That's a really good point.
15:51 It is cool how he or she approached it
15:54 in that it does look like it's eating the cloud.
15:56 Like it doesn't feel like it's just like fading out in areas.
15:58 It feels like it's eating the density of the cloud.
16:00 Yeah, like the easy version of this with a less skilled
16:04 VFX artist doing this, it would just be a simple mask,
16:06 and you would see a feathered edge just kind of creating
16:09 a circular hole in the contrail there as it expands outwards.
16:12 [music] Do you guys think he's using like an animated fractal noise?
16:15 Like there's a little bit of motion in that noise pattern?
16:17 I think so.
16:18 What I'm looking for is density being added
16:20 back in [music] as that noise pattern evolves, and in that bulbous area,
16:24 I feel like there's a little section of density
16:26 that arose and actually comes back a little bit.
16:28 Uh-huh.
16:29 But I Do you see it?
16:30 Do you see it?
16:30 Yep.
16:30 Cuz that would be indicative It's not going to Nothing's going
16:33 to be adding the vapor back in once it subtracts it.
16:35 It doesn't [music] make any sense.
16:36 The final thing that speaks to me that this is
16:38 a VFX is you watch the motion of that white dot,
16:40 and you can just you can see that Bezier smooth in and the Bezier smooth out.
16:45 So, it feels like it's a two-dimensional animation.
16:48 It's This is once again a very good UFO VFX shot.
16:52 Yeah.
16:52 Really smooth.
16:53 Really very well done.
16:54 In theory, this is possible.
16:57 If there is some sort of spaceship that could emit a bunch of heat
17:00 and melt the ice particles back to just regular water vapor, I don't know.
17:05 But it would have to be a lot of heat,
17:06 and you would be seeing a lot of other artifacts.
17:09 [music] This is a good one.
17:10 Bravo.
17:12 Yeah.
17:14 [laughter] Debunked.
17:17 This next clip shook me to my core.
17:20 This one's not for the faint of heart.
17:22 All the things that we highlight as being
17:23 indicators of it being fake are not present here.
17:27 This has everything you could want.
17:30 It's like, okay, what are some of the issues that you
17:31 have with like traditional things that we watch on this couch?
17:34 It's clearly explained by being a balloon or like that or fake or the
17:37 super grainy footage.
17:39 Oh, we're not actually seeing like anything of substance.
17:42 Roll the clip.
17:47 I'm watching with my eyes so peeled open right now.
17:53 Oh.
17:54 What's that?
17:56 Are they all looking at it?
17:58 That's kind of cool everybody's coming to look at it.
18:04 What the freaking heck is that, dude?
18:09 Yo, what's this guy doing?
18:15 You freaking What?
18:18 What are they looking at?
18:20 What?
18:22 It's a little alien.
18:26 [laughter] Look at that little guy looking at us.
18:38 Uh guess what?
18:39 He's gone.
18:41 Woah.
18:43 Look at all the tracking markers on the ground.
18:45 DO YOU SEE THAT?
18:48 [laughter] SERIOUSLY.
18:51 WHAT ARE THOSE?
18:52 THOSE ARE TRACKING MARKERS.
18:53 Those are alien beads, dude.
18:55 Alien beads?
18:55 Yeah, how do you think they summoned the alien to that spot?
18:57 Ran, I was waiting for you to see those tracking markers.
19:01 [laughter]
19:01 That's the only place where there's a CG character in contact with the ground,
19:05 so you want as many points of, you know,
19:06 contrast as you can, and I think back then,
19:09 you know, you just got to you got to drop something.
19:11 Okay, they could be tracking markers, or they could be alien beads.
19:14 We don't know for sure.
19:16 You can write off a faraway UFO.
19:18 You can maybe write off a gray somehow.
19:19 I don't know how you would.
19:20 But how the heck do you write off this?
19:32 [laughter] [screaming] Oh, no.
19:42 We're done.
19:43 Debunked.
19:45 You know, this is actually really pretty cool.
19:47 I dig this.
19:48 Whoever did this did a really good job of it, honestly.
19:51 Yeah.
19:51 Whoever or whatever did this.
19:53 Once the little guy starts moving, you can just you can feel the 3D animation.
19:57 But you know what?
19:58 It's really cool to see a shot that has
20:00 people in it all with the coordinated reaction.
20:03 Then of course by the end when you
20:04 hit the big chrome spaceship and the light beam,
20:06 it's clearly visual effects by that point.
20:08 But it's really convincing in the opening.
20:10 But dude, I love it.
20:12 We actually saw like a real hoax video.
20:15 Like most of the time we're looking
20:16 at stuff that people captured and it's real stuff,
20:19 but we just don't know what it is.
20:20 Yeah, this is a high effort.
20:22 This is good.
20:22 This is good this is good.
20:23 Debunked.
20:26 I have one tiny one I just want to toss in there.
20:28 Might not even make the video.
20:31 Okay.
20:31 Dragons are real.
20:32 Okay, Dean just said dragons are real.
20:34 Dragons are real.
20:35 Okay.
20:39 Hey look, it's a lizard.
20:45 EXCUSE ME?
20:49 [laughter] WHAT?
20:50 WOW.
20:52 Look at that.
20:53 What?
20:55 He just burps fire.
20:57 All right, hold on.
20:57 Click on his Instagram page.
20:59 This guy does a lot of stuff.
21:01 Oh, there's an AI one.
21:02 There's an AI one.
21:03 There's an AI one.
21:04 Is there anything else that tells you this is AI?
21:06 Do you think it's an AI takeover?
21:08 There's a moment right Oh.
21:13 The zoom.
21:13 Image to video.
21:14 You're right.
21:15 That's why it's so realistic.
21:17 It's all real and then right The motion stops.
21:21 wow.
21:21 The zoom is high with the zoom.
21:23 It even changes its posture at the same time.
21:26 Yeah.
21:26 Everything works a little different.
21:27 Yeah, when the camera stops having the handheld look to it also.
21:30 Look at the camera movement.
21:31 It's so shaky.
21:32 So shaky and now it's perfect.
21:34 Yeah, yeah.
21:34 [laughter] They're there.
21:37 The tails are still there.
21:39 You just got to look.
21:40 Debunked.
21:41 Debunked.
