0:02 place with open questions here about 22nd freaking Amendment,
0:06 about whether Trump can serve a third term.
0:08 It's clear as day he can't in the Constitution,
0:11 but we have judicial nominees who are equivocating about it.

0:15 Mark, is President Trump eligible to run for president again in 2028?
0:23 Senator, with uh without considering all
0:25 the facts and and looking at everything,
0:27 depending on what the situation is,
0:29 this to me strikes as more of a hypothetical of something that could be more
0:33 a hypothetical.
0:34 Has President Trump been elected president twice?
0:37 President Trump has been certified the President of the United States two times.
0:40 Is he eligible to run for a third term under our Constitution?
0:44 Um I would have to to review the the actual
0:47 tell me is the language of the constitutional
0:49 amendment that makes it clear that no,
0:50 he is not eligible to run for a third term.
0:53 Anybody else brave enough to say that the Constitution
0:55 of the United States prevents President Trump from seeking a third term?
1:01 Anybody willing to apply the Constitution
1:03 by its plain language in the 22nd Amendment?

1:09 All right, let's move on.
1:11 [sighs and gasps] Take a listen to my conversation
1:12 with the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee,
1:14 Jamie Raskin of Maryland, who raises the alarm about that and about the prospect
1:20 of political violence January 6th style after the midterms.
1:25 You know, this is now the the basic premise
1:29 of Trumpism and Magaism that you've got to accept
1:32 that Donald Trump won the election in 2020 when
1:36 Joe Biden beat him by more than 7 million votes,
1:39 306 to 232 in the Electoral College.
1:42 And then Trump incited a violent mob to go out and attack the Capitol.
1:48 Uh more than 150 of our police officers were wounded, injured, hospitalized,
1:53 many of them disabled for life and having to leave
1:56 the police profession and they still lie about what happened.
2:00 I mean the their mob chanted "Hang Mike
2:03 Pence." Why did Mike Pence leave uh the ticket?
2:06 Because he would not follow orders um
2:09 and steal a presidential election for Donald Trump.
2:13 Those lies continue to be platformed, which has been my biggest objection.
2:16 Nobody should be platforming malicious, malignant lies like that.
2:19 I a couple questions I want to get you out of here on.
2:21 Galen and Kendra put them in chat.

2:24 What What are we to make of these judicial nominees at the Senate who can't
2:29 answer questions about the 22nd Amendment declaratively
2:31 that you can't get third term if you're Trump?
2:35 Well, then this [clears throat] this to me is really a terrifying thing
2:37 and I'll link it to what we just saw happen in the Supreme Court.
2:41 We know that the people appointed to the executive branch,
2:44 people like Cash Patel and Pam Bondi
2:47 and Kristi Noem are going to be complete supplicants,
2:50 loyalists, and flunkies for Donald Trump.
2:53 They will literally do whatever he tells them to do.
2:56 They will literally take whatever position he wants
2:58 them to take if if he says, you know,
3:00 bring a completely fraudulent prosecution against James Comey
3:03 or Letitia James or Adam Schiff or whatever,
3:06 they will do that, okay?
3:07 But the amazing thing is now you have people in the Article III branch,
3:12 in the courts, who act also like members of a religious cult.
3:17 So, they know that they cannot get through the Donald Trump litmus test
3:23 if they don't parrot his absurdities about his having won the 2020 election,
3:29 January 6th being an inside job, all of that nonsense.
3:33 That's basically what they stand for, you know, Voltaire said,
3:37 "Anyone who can make you believe
3:39 absurdities can make you commit atrocities." So, these people are lawyers.
3:45 In some cases, they're already judges in other capacities,
3:48 but they should know better than this and yet
3:51 they simply have decided to uh to join the call.
3:55 Let me ask this final question then.
3:57 We both have seen the lying about January
4:00 6th and about 2020 that persists and metastasizes
4:04 to this day and has captured way too many
4:06 Americans into this I'm sorry into this terrible echo chamber.
4:10 How concerned are you that the lionization
4:14 of these violent racist misogynistic rioters in some
4:17 cases is going to I'm sorry promote
4:21 or encourage future political violence say in November.
4:25 Well, that's obviously the consequence of it, right Scott?
4:27 I mean you pardon 1600 of these people and you try to whitewash
4:32 their crimes their crimes and claim
4:34 that they're heroes patriots political prisoners.
4:39 You know that's an outrage.
4:40 They gave $5 to Ashley Babbitt's family and her death was a terrible tragedy,
4:46 but there were two different investigations [clears throat]
4:47 which said the police acted in a completely
4:51 responsible and reasonable way to defend the Congress
4:56 and they just gave her family $5.
4:58 They've given nothing to the families of Sergeant
5:00 Gonell of Michael Fanone Officer Dunn None
5:06 of the you know the people who were basically
5:09 tortured for four or five hours by the mob.
5:13 They got nothing and their families have gotten nothing.
5:15 So we're going to do whatever we can to rectify that.
5:18 Every dollar that's just given away to rioters
5:22 and insurrectionists should be matched at least by $1 going
5:26 to the families of the police officers that have
5:28 been so severely affected by the January 6th violent insurrection.
5:35 But your general point is right.
5:36 I mean if participate in the sanitizing and the rehabilitation
5:42 of a violent act like that, you're obviously inviting it in the future.
5:46 And one way of thinking about this is
5:48 Donald Trump pardoned his own private militia
5:51 of insurrectionists and rioters who have proven that they're
5:54 willing to engage in violence on his behalf.
5:57 So, we've got to do everything we can to defend the vast
6:01 majority of the American people who want to stand up for democracy,
6:04 the rule of law, and the Constitution, and freedom.
6:08 Uh, and we've got to stand by the vast
6:11 majority of the federal judges at the district level
6:13 and the appeals court level who are standing
6:15 by the rule of law and do whatever we can, uh,
6:18 to try to rein in the excesses of this Roberts court and its shadow docket,
6:23 which is an effort to create a parallel system of justice to undermine,
6:28 or parallel system of injustice,
6:30 to undermine the actual decision-making of the courts.
6:34 But, because most of the judges are hanging tough,
6:37 regardless of whether they were appointed by Bush or Obama or Biden or Reagan,
6:44 in some cases even by Trump,
6:46 they're hanging tough against this reign of lawlessness.
6:48 And so, um, like Tom Paine said, these are the times that try men.
6:53 We can add women's souls.
6:55 Uh, the summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will shrink
6:57 at this moment from the service of their cause and their country.
7:00 But, everybody who stands with us now will win the love and the favor
7:03 and the affection of every man and every woman for all time.
7:06 And tyranny, uh, like hell is not easily conquered,
7:10 but we've got this saving consolation, the more difficult the struggle,
7:13 the more glorious in the end will be our victory.
7:15 So, let's make that victory ours.
7:17 Everybody hang tough through this time.

7:24 the media is the people's best friend.

7:36 Congress did spend part of its week talking about the Epstein files.
7:39 I mean, Democrats talked about it outside the interview with Howard Lutnick,
7:43 the Commerce Secretary.
7:44 Republicans did their talking inside.
7:47 We can listen to Yasmine Ansari, the Democrat from Arizona,
7:50 about how unsatisfying that interview with Lutnick was.
7:54 What stood out most to you of what you heard or didn't hear?
7:57 What has stood out to me most is
7:58 that Howard Lutnick is proving to be a pathological liar,
8:03 and he is twisting himself into a crazy pretzel trying
8:10 to justify his own words on the podcast in 2025.
8:16 On that podcast, he said to the American people
8:20 that he met Jeffrey Epstein one time in 2005,
8:22 that he took a tour of his home with his wife, that he saw a massage table,
8:26 and him and his wife were so uncomfortable that they would
8:29 never that he would never be in a room with him again.
8:32 That was made very, very clear.
8:34 And then, of course, we know that in 2012,
8:36 it was later leaked that he went to the island.
8:38 When asked about this over and over and over again,
8:41 how he justifies going to the island,
8:45 whether or not his statements in 2025 were misleading,
8:49 he is still trying to stand by those statements and say that he did not lie
8:54 to the American people by saying that he would
8:56 not be in a room with Jeffrey Epstein again.
8:58 I mean, this man is quite literally trying
9:00 to redefine like what words mean in his own statements.
9:05 So, he I mean, it is just You didn't buy it.
9:08 I did not buy it at all.
9:10 And it would I mean,
9:10 he I think that he could have easily said, "I made a mistake.
9:14 I misspoke.
9:14 I exaggerated.
9:16 I You know, I I feel regret for that, and I should
9:19 have been more forthcoming about it." It would have been very easy,
9:22 and I think that that would have been accepted by people.
9:25 I think that when looking at this entire investigation,
9:30 nobody is suggesting that anyone who ever
9:32 knew Jeffrey Epstein committed a heinous crime.
9:35 We just want to know what people were aware of so
9:38 that we can advance our investigation and get justice for the survivors.
9:42 But to say that you were being truthful with those words,
9:46 I think just demonstrates the ongoing cover-up of this administration.
9:50 He was also asked several questions about the fact that he
9:54 had said that he believed Jeffrey Epstein would blackmail people.
9:57 Today when he was asked about that, he said that he no longer believes that.
10:01 And then when pressed on why that is,
10:03 he said it's because he spoke with administration officials
10:06 and he no longer believes that there was blackmail involved.
10:09 I'm getting your comments and your questions about it,
10:11 including the comment from Didi Posta.
10:14 Was he under oath?
10:15 Can't seem to find that out from media reporting.
10:17 It's a transcribed interview for Letnick,
10:19 so I know there's no oath of office or I'm sorry,
10:22 oath to tell the truth at the start of the interview.
10:24 There was also no video recording,
10:26 and that concerns a lot of Democrats who want to have
10:28 that video so they can socialize it and hold the interviewee more accountable.
