0:00 Bring it to life.

0:01 Why is it so

0:01 Bring the dragon to life?

0:02 Somebody created.

0:04 Let's go.

0:04 But yeah, I'm honestly like I didn't watch that many concert films.

0:07 I just watched Never Say Never over and over and over.

0:10 Oh, why?

0:10 Cuz your name is Claire.

0:11 Cuz my name is Claire.

0:19 Billy, congratulations on this film.

0:21 It is incredible.

0:22 It is such a feat.

0:23 But if you could take me back when you were creating this album,

0:25 do you remember the first like lyric or hook

0:27 that would become the first part of Hit Me song?

0:31 Oh, love a music question.

0:35 Yeah.

0:33 Um Ooh.

0:34 First lyric.

0:36 I think it was literally I could eat that girl for

0:43 that was the first lyric and it was originally I could eat

0:46 that for lunch cuz we didn't know where it was going to go.

0:49 But yeah, it was that I think unless well that's the first like real one,

0:54 but also like Blue Phineas wrote like the lyrics to that in like 2015 or 16.

1:01 So we just redid it.

1:02 But anyway, yeah.

1:04 Well, I'm glad that you brought up lunch cuz

1:05 that is my favorite and I have to thank Why?

1:07 Cuz your name is Claire.

1:08 Cuz my name is Claire.

1:10 [laughter] Thank you on behalf of all the Claire's.

1:12 Thank you.

1:12 Thank you.

1:13 Selfishly, that is my favorite to watch you perform.

1:15 But what is your favorite?

1:17 And then alternatively, when you're watching yourself back,

1:19 what is your favorite?

1:21 Ooh, my favorite to perform.

1:24 Lunch is pretty fun.

1:26 Yeah.

1:26 And it's like so early in the show that everyone

1:28 is like it's just the energy is really good.

1:30 I love that one.

1:32 I honestly love Wildflower.

1:33 I love singing Wildflower.

1:35 You before Wildflower sang, are you ready to have some fun?

1:37 And then you made me cry my eyes out.

1:40 [laughter]

1:40 I know.

1:41 I wasn't like, you know, I just I just I always like to say,

1:45 "Are you ready to have something fun?" Because that is when the show is fun.

1:49 Like, you got to have fun.

1:50 But it was like one of the first shows we

1:52 did on the tour that I just accidentally said it there

1:55 and then I was like, "Yeah, whatever.

1:57 Whatever.

1:57 It's Well, it's happy fun.

1:58 I'm crying, but I'm also in my element watching you perform." So, that's right.

2:02 You know, but the first time I ever saw you live,

2:04 actually, was in Prism in Kingston back in 2019.

2:07 Oh my god.

2:08 Yeah.

2:08 And it was just this intimate gig.

2:10 you could hear a pin drop and you

2:11 can still hear a pin drop when you're performing.

2:13 That hasn't changed.

2:14 It's so beautiful.

2:15 But I'd love to [music] know, is there a song that isn't on the set list anymore

2:18 that you would love to bring back one day?

2:20 Oh yeah.

2:20 Oh my god, there's so many.

2:22 When I was older is one for me that I love doing,

2:24 but like nobody likes it, so I don't have to I can't do it.

2:28 [laughter] I like it.

2:29 Bring back.

2:29 Thank you.

2:30 Thank you.

2:30 Like the fans like it, but a niche a it's like a niche.

2:33 Like

2:34 the real ones.

2:35 Yeah.

2:35 Um, like that one is one that I love or honestly like I love bittersweet.

2:41 Love bittersweet and like yes it's like the set list is up

2:45 to me but really I'm doing songs based on how people feel about them.

2:49 So I try to be the crowdleaser that I want

2:52 to be and play the songs people want to hear.

2:54 But also I have to only play for a certain amount of time

2:57 and the more songs I put out the less I can play.

3:00 So it's it's actually really hard.

3:02 Like honestly, I really missed the days when I

3:06 only had as many songs that I was [music] playing.

3:09 Like there was a period where I I didn't have any more songs.

3:11 I played all of them live.

3:13 Yeah.

3:13 When I was watching you, it was all your songs at the time.

3:15 All of them that were out.

3:16 Like I know.

3:17 I know.

3:17 I miss those days.

3:18 But so many, dude.

3:19 So many.

3:20 There's so many.

3:20 And also like so many that are probably not going to be on the next

3:24 tour that I'm going to be so sad I'm going to be missing.

3:26 But

3:27 it's such an immersive concert experience.

3:28 [music] But what is a concert film that you just adore that you love?

3:32 I mean, obviously Believe and Never Say Never are my favorites, but all I Yeah.

3:38 All I do is talk about those.

3:40 These aren't necessarily concert films,

3:42 but they're movies that are my favorite music,

3:47 which is like Hard Day's Night and Help.

3:49 They're not like concert films, but I just love the Beatles so much,

3:53 and those movies had such an impact on me growing up.

3:56 But yeah, I honestly like I didn't watch that many concert films.

3:59 I just watched Never Say Never over and over and over.

4:02 You're just like me.

4:03 You are just like me.

4:04 And now if baby Billy knew, she would be the one.

4:07 I can't even talk about it.

4:08 I know.

4:09 As a believer, I was thrilled for you by the way.

4:10 Thank you.

4:11 [laughter] And you're working with James Cameron and I

4:13 know that you're no stranger to directing yourself.

4:15 You've directed so many of your music videos.

4:17 Um, and you're working with an Amina.

4:20 Like he's just he's the guy.

4:22 And what was it like co-directing

4:23 with him and experiencing directing on that level?

4:26 It was wild.

4:27 It was so unexpected and not something I ever thought I would do.

4:32 And I'm so [music] glad I did and here we are.

4:34 It was really amazing.

4:35 It I I feel like I learned so much

4:37 about seeing things through the eyes of this genius,

4:42 you know, and I I kept forgetting that he

4:43 was such a genius cuz he's just this sweet gem gem.

4:47 And then he would like [music] do or say something and I'd be like, "Wow,

4:51 what an amazing view of what we're talking about right now." And I feel like I

4:56 [music] learned so much from that and was

5:00 so inspired by his kind of ambition and drive.

5:04 And when we were filming, he was so active and alive.

5:09 Like, I've never seen something like that.

5:10 And it was just really cool to see someone so hands-on.

5:13 Also, he's the one holding the camera and he was the one editing it.

5:17 Like, he's he's so hands-on in that way, and I really relate to that.

5:20 So, I I really liked that.

5:22 And seeing him be so passionate about your music and bringing it

5:24 to life in that way was just like so beautiful to watch as well.

5:28 I know.

5:28 I know.

5:29 I know.

5:30 Is there a world of his that you'd love to step inside for the day?

5:32 Any of his cinematic worlds?

5:34 I mean, yeah, of course.

5:36 I mean, I I was just saying that like Pandora on a good day, I would love to go.

5:42 Stop it.

5:43 Like I can't even talk about it.

5:44 That one like without any without anything scary happening.

5:48 No, no drama.

5:50 Just a beautiful day riding on the dragons.

5:53 [music] I mean, I want a dragon so bad.

5:55 I can't even I literally can't deal with it.

5:57 I should get you a dragon.

5:58 I mean, the idea that dragons are real is really upset.

6:00 The amount of dreams I've had of flying on a dragon.

6:05 James, come on.

6:07 Billy for Avatar 4.

6:08 There's I'm seeing something.

6:09 But I need I need I need technology to start making

6:13 stuff that I could actually have in real life that's not CGI.

6:16 You know what I'm saying?

6:17 Like bring it to life.

6:18 Why is it so bring the dragon to life?

6:20 Somebody create it.

6:21 Let's go.

6:22 You're also making greener concerts.

6:24 You're now making your concerts accessible to so many people.

6:27 What has been the biggest joy in this tour specifically?

6:30 Bringing it to life for all your fans to see.

6:33 I mean, I think something that was really special about

6:35 this tour was the kind of amount that all the venues, or at least a lot of them,

6:43 were so willing and eager to be involved

6:48 with the sustainability aspect as much as possible,

6:51 which was really amazing to see.

6:52 And the amount of venues that, you know, like for instance,

6:55 like the O2 and Manchester when we when we shot this,

6:59 all of the food in the entire building was vegan for the entire time.

7:02 and we were there and everything was plant-based and you know,

7:05 no plastic water bottles allowed and we have this company

7:08 called Reverb who comes to every show on tour

7:10 and they have this like setup and it has

7:12 all these facts about the climate crisis and things

7:15 you can do to help and there's a pledge

7:17 that you can take to eat one plant-based meal

7:20 a day for 30 days and it saves an unbelievable

7:24 number of gallons of water and animals and carbon emissions.

7:29 It's just like there's so much that we've been doing

7:32 and I just feel so proud that we were able to do

7:34 it and that so many people were willing to do

7:36 it and also just like the fans being so eager and this is it.

7:40 you're inspiring so many people and I wanted

7:42 to bring that up because it's no small feat what

7:44 you're doing and I hope it inspires more people

7:46 to make greener tours and I want to talk

7:48 about your fans because the relationship you have

7:50 with them is so special and it reminded me

7:52 of something you said in this which was like

7:54 you wanted to feel like it's just you and them

7:56 and in the world's a little blurry you said that they're like a part of you

7:59 and that stayed with me that really

8:00 moved me understanding that dynamic is so special

8:04 so what does the relationship between them and your music mean to you

8:09 it's so well put It's every I mean it's everything to me.

8:12 I I I [music] like can't really stress that enough.

8:15 I feel like the only reason I do any of this is for them and the only

8:19 reason I perform is for them and like

8:21 the only reason I put music out is for that.

8:24 It's just like, you know,

8:25 I was just saying this earlier that and and it kind of struck me while I

8:29 was saying it how true it is and how

8:32 I've never really kind of specifically verbalized it,

8:35 but like the only reason that anyone

8:39 makes anything is because [music] you're a fan.

8:42 Like everyone is a fan.

8:43 Even if you weren't a fan girl waiting in line or whatever,

8:47 the only reason to you create is because you love that thing.

8:50 The reason you make music is because you love music.

8:53 The reason Jim makes films is because he loves film, you know?

8:57 And it's like that's why we do anything.

8:59 The reason we do our makeup like we do is because we like

9:02 the way it looked on someone else or we like the way it look.

9:05 It's like everything we do and everything we like is because we are a fan of it.

9:10 Like the word fan is kind of used in this way

9:13 to mean like this one specific kind of extreme thing.

9:16 And it's really like [music] everyone is a fan of anything they like.

9:20 You just are.

9:22 And That's the only reason that I I [music] care about this kind

9:26 of thing and like the only reason I do any of it.

9:28 And also I'm I'm such a [music] fan in in my heart.

9:35 Yeah.

9:34 And in reality and I see myself in them

9:37 and I just want to please them and I want

9:39 to do whatever I can do to be the artist they want me to be or that that will,

9:44 you know, in a in the the correct amount that doesn't, you know, take too much,

9:49 you know, it's like it's it's hard, but you have to find a balance.

9:52 like not too much of yourself that you lose yourself.

9:55 But it is really important to me that I do give myself, you know,

9:59 cuz it's import I'm I'm just one of me

10:02 and there's so many of them and it's like yes,

10:04 I can only do so much, but I'm going to do that amount.

10:07 Whatever it is, I I can do I'm going to do

10:09 and you can tell it means everything to them.

10:11 It means so [music] much to them and it's

10:12 so beautiful to watch in this all the reactions.

10:14 It's just isn't it cool?

10:16 It's just so sick and I just I love that for you and it's so deserved.

10:18 I've been a fan of you for so long, Billy.

10:20 And I just watching you thrive is just you're so cute.

10:24 Thank you for saying that.

10:25 I know you're vegan and also this is shot in the UK.

10:28 So I got you my favorite vegan snack.

10:31 Oh my god.

10:32 Happy penguin colonist.

10:36 Oh my god.

10:36 Little gummies.

10:37 Little gummies.

10:39 Girl, I'm going to get into these [music] as soon as I walk out of this room.

10:43 Oh my god.

10:43 You love these.

10:44 These are your favorite.

10:44 These are my cinema snack.

10:46 So when I go and watch this in the cinema, those are coming with me.

10:49 Hell yeah.

10:50 Fruit gums.

10:52 Colin caterpillar.

10:53 Oh my god.

10:54 The Percy pig.

10:55 Look how cute the little names are.

10:58 Thank you for these.

10:58 He's a J.
