7:15 And then I realized she likes to be out in the garden planting,

7:18 and I started sending you live things where you can plant in the yard.

15:30 almost a doctorate, and you couldn't go beyond a secretary for a while

15:37 I turned them in

15:40 and you started getting But you Yes.

15:43 they started promoting me.

15:45 the the girls there

15:47 the girls that wasn't were not of color hadn't

15:50 even finished high school and you promoting them over me.

15:57 So, my mom started a movement and was very

16:00 brave when you have to be willing to sacrifice something.

16:03 you and I remember some of the other ladies uh black ladies who

16:07 were secretaries came remember they came over to the house for a meeting

16:09 a couple talking about how we have to stand together

16:12 in this and you were the first one to go in and do it

16:15 and then everybody followed you helped everybody else and that's

16:18 where I came from and then my dad remember when um

16:22 uh Henry Lewis Gates did my ancestry and he

16:25 talked about how my dad changed uh fought

16:28 for to change the laws for public transportation

16:30 in not just Baton Rouge but in Louisiana as well.

16:34 And he also went to uh law school at LSU.

16:38 I think he was the first black.

16:45 So, how is it going down there in Louisiana now with the governor and all?
