12:29 which have a right protect option to make sure the card
12:31 doesn't get manipulated whenever you plug it into your computer.
12:33 And I'm always amazed to see how much data
12:36 can be stored on a tiny little memory card.

16:14 We swung by the Tavon booth where you can drop off your lenses to have it clean.

16:18 And I think a big benefit of going to these shows is
16:20 I can actually grab a lot of these things that I see online,
16:23 pick it up, see how it feels in my hands.
16:25 But that's something I could just do at a regular camera store, right?
16:28 But what I felt was really special about CPU
16:31 in particular is a lot of the people that are
16:33 in charge of creating this stuff and making these big
16:36 decisions on what they're going to make next, they're right here.
16:39 I got to meet and chat with some of the people
16:41 that were in charge of creating one of my favorite lenses,
16:44 the Tamron 35 to 150, which starts at an F2 and goes to an F2.8.
16:50 And it still has that insane range of 35 to 150 fullframe.
16:55 Best lens.
16:57 And for the brands, it's their chance
16:59 to talk directly with customers, get some feedback.
17:01 So, I told them my main complaint about
17:02 this lens is it doesn't have a tripod mount.
17:04 So, I had to get this aftermarket mount, which isn't that great.
17:07 It kind of slips.
17:15 He tells me that adding a tripod foot would increase the weight of the lens.
17:19 So I was like, "How about a removable one by/ quarter 20?"
17:21 And he says even that would actually
17:23 require a different material for the housing.
17:25 So it would still increase weight.
17:29 So there's a lot of nuance when it comes to these things.
17:32 And I really learned that lesson when working on the Trix tripod with Small Rig.
17:35 you know, the first ever hydraulic tripod that sets up
17:38 with just one single lever pull and it's awesome and link description.

17:42 Ah, but I really learned a ton about
17:45 how many decisions that go into creating a product.
17:48 So, I feel like it's important to really identify your top few priorities
17:53 and then a lot of the finer decisions kind of revolve around that.
17:56 So, for example, Tamron designs a majority
17:58 of their lenses with the same 67 mil front thread.
18:01 So you have one filter that fits most of their lenses,
18:04 which is awesomely convenient,
18:06 but of course that also means some compromises when it comes to designing.
18:09 So it's all a big balancing act.
18:11 You know, I love my 35 to 150, but the compromise,
18:14 it's a bit heavy, so they created a lighter 35 to 100 f/2.8.
18:19 Maybe less capable, but way smaller and way lighter.
18:22 So this lens is like under 1,000 bucks.
18:24 That's good.
18:24 Now, with CP Plus being only a once a year event,
18:27 it might not necessarily line up with your next travel plans to Japan.
18:31 But don't worry because you can still go
18:33 to one of the many massive camera stores and you
18:36 could pretty much find anything from new stuff
18:39 to old stuff to cool stuff to weird stuff.
