a cozy day in my life vlog

a cozy day in my life vlog

Sydney Serena

0:00 Good morning, guys.

0:00 It's Sid.

0:05 [music] [music] [music] Today we're doing another vlog.

0:19 And today I'm not working.

0:21 So, I wanted to do things that I haven't done in the city before.

0:24 I feel like being in a routine is a really good thing.

0:27 And something that I really love is being in a routine.

0:29 But it's also good to like break out of it and try new things.

0:32 I think I get really comfortable with my life.

0:35 And I just like never want to like stray away

0:37 from my three places that I go on the daily.

0:40 Like I have my coffee shop that I love.

0:42 I have my dinner spot that I love.

0:44 I have my shops that I love.

0:45 And I just like I think I have an obsessive

0:47 personality honestly because I never seem to stray away from them.

0:50 And I really just like want to try new spots today.

0:53 So like I said, I'm a habit of creature.

0:55 I think we all are.

0:56 habit.

0:57 Creature of habit, I meant.

0:58 Oh my god, did you guys hear that what I just said?

1:00 I found this workout class while doing research on TikTok.

1:04 It looked really fun.

1:05 I think it's just good to like push yourself

1:06 to like try new things that like you wouldn't normally try.

1:09 And this is like a hybrid dance workout class.

1:13 I would not say I'm the best dancer.

1:14 If anything, I would actually say I probably am like the worst.

1:17 We'll see.

1:17 I have no idea.

1:18 I signed up last night before bed at 8:00 p.m.

1:21 and we're going to go try it together.

1:23 I also want to try like a new coffee shop today.

1:26 I want to try maybe like going to this fashion

1:28 museum later and just hang out with you guys.

1:31 [music] So, all right, I should probably leave.

1:35 I really stick to my same gym routine every day.

1:37 I just go on the treadmill on an incline for like 45 minutes.

1:40 So, this was pretty polar opposite of what I usually do,

1:42 which was the whole point.

1:43 The creators of this place tried to make it sort

1:46 of like a rave with the lighting and the music.

1:49 [music] I thought it was really fun,

1:53 but I did find the choreography to be kind of harder than I anticipated.

1:57 Okay, guys.

1:58 I just got out of my class.

2:00 It was actually pretty hard.

2:01 I don't know why it was harder than I expected.

2:04 My arms are very sore particularly.

2:06 I don't know if that that was supposed to happen or if that's just me,

2:09 but I had a lot of fun.

2:10 I actually made a friend in there at the end

2:12 and she told me a coffee shop to try around the corner.

2:15 Okay, friend might be a stretch.

2:17 I wouldn't go that far.

2:18 But I did meet this girl after the class

2:20 and I was asking her for coffee shop recommendations.

2:23 So I ended up at Paper Coffee.

2:25 I walked in and it was just so beautiful because it's [music] in a hotel.

2:29 It kind of put me at peace.

2:31 Ironically, after that crazy rave workout, I think I needed this for my soul.

2:36 I also really needed this honey bear latte that I had no

2:39 idea existed because I always get the same vanilla latte every time.

2:43 So, I wanted to switch it up and I'm glad I did.

2:45 This was pretty good.

2:46 good.

2:46 I liked it cuz it wasn't like too overly sweet and it

2:48 was just such a nice little relaxing end to my morning.

2:54 The biggest form of delayed gratification, I think,

2:57 is getting up early to work out.

2:59 I am being very dramatic,

3:00 but I'm not one of those people that's an automatic morning person.

3:03 I don't like love waking up at 6:00 a.m.

3:05 I actually hate it.

3:06 In the moment, I hate it.

3:08 You know, I want to hit snooze and just go straight back to bed,

3:10 but I feel so much better now.

3:12 It's only 10:30 a.m.

3:14 and I just feel like I've already done so much today.

3:17 I showered, washed my hair, and I'm going to get ready for the day.

3:21 The best part of that workout class was

3:23 that I was like really nervous the whole time,

3:26 like kind of self-conscious about it because I

3:28 don't know why I couldn't like remember the sequence

3:30 because they kept changing the sequence and I

3:32 felt like I just like wasn't doing it right.

3:35 I met this girl.

3:36 She told me that it was also her first time there like me.

3:39 And she told me, she's like, "Honestly, I was so nervous that whole class.

3:42 Like I felt like I was like messing everything up." And that made

3:45 me feel better because I felt the same way the whole class.

3:48 So to hear that like someone else was feeling the exact same way.

3:51 It was also kind of like insecure [laughter]

3:53 about like the workout made me feel better.

3:56 When I was in the class,

3:57 I kind of just like look around and I just assume that everyone's

3:59 been there a million times and like everyone knows what they're doing.

4:01 But honestly, it just goes to show

4:03 that people are really only focusing on themselves.

4:06 No one really cares like what you're doing.

4:07 They're just trying to like keep it together.

4:09 After I finish getting ready,

4:10 I'm going to go straight to lunch cuz I'm so hungry.

4:13 And then I think I'm going to go to the fashion museum.

4:16 It's somewhere that I've been wanting to go for so

4:18 long and I just I'm trying to do things that I've

4:21 always like said I would do and like put them

4:23 off because if I never do it at some point, it's just never going to happen.

4:28 [music] I just did a little bit of light makeup for today.

4:40 Nothing too crazy.

4:41 I'm going to get dressed before I go.

4:43 It's absolutely freezing outside.

4:44 New Yorkers would say it's brick.

4:46 I say it's freezing.

4:48 I want to just do something really cute, cozy, and warm.

4:51 But I'm styling my outfit around the Coach Brooklyn bag.

4:54 And I'm so excited to be working with Coach again on today's video.

4:57 You guys know how much I love Coach at this point.

5:00 I talk about them like all the time.

5:01 I grew up buying stuff from them.

5:03 This is just such a perfect essential everyday bag.

5:05 I can fit so much stuff in here.

5:07 I bring a ton of stuff with me and I got the medium size.

5:11 I just love the look of this.

5:12 I think it's so beautiful, so sleek, so classy.

5:15 Building off of the bag.

5:16 I want to keep the outfit itself pretty neutral.

5:18 All right, option number one.

5:19 I really love the black bag with this top.

5:21 Super comfy, cozy, casual.

5:23 Pretty much exactly what I was going for.

5:25 Okay, next option.

5:26 Again, a very comfy, cozy look.

5:29 I really don't know what I like better.

5:30 I'm thinking maybe the first sweater, actually, cuz I like the collar with it.

5:34 What do you guys think?

5:37 I have a vision coming together.

5:39 Give me a second.

5:40 I threw on some black jeans and then some black flats to go with it.

5:43 I like the black with the black bag.

5:45 I think it goes well.

5:46 Then for a coat, which I desperately need,

5:49 I'm going to throw this sort of dark olive green suede coat on.

5:53 This is going to be closed very tight because it is so cold.

5:57 I chose this cuz I like how the black buttons kind of go with the bag.

6:00 So, this is the final look.

6:03 What do we think?

6:04 My favorite part of this whole look is the bag.

6:06 How beautiful is this bag?

6:08 I just love it.

6:10 And I wanted to bring a little book with me

6:11 because I wanted to read while I have lunch.

6:14 This is the book I've been reading.

6:15 I'm actually almost done with it.

6:16 I love how I can fit so much in this bag.

6:18 So, I just love that I can bring everything in my Brooklyn bag everywhere I go.

6:22 Anyways, let's head out to lunch.

6:24 I am so hungry and excited to eat.

6:30 [music] [music] [music] Hotel Chelsea just never disappoints.

6:47 [music] It was one of the first places I went when I moved to New York.

6:50 It's so classical Victorian, just so beautiful in there.

6:54 I could just observe and like stare at the architecture and decor for so long.

6:58 I ordered a $9 Diet Coke.

7:00 Did not know it was going to be $9 until I got the bill.

7:03 And then I also got this cheese plate with some jam.

7:06 You know, this was a special treat for me.

7:08 And then after I made my way to go to the museum,

7:12 I did have to do a little bit of searching to find one that was open.

7:16 You guys saw I just left Chelsea Hotel.

7:18 It was so beautiful.

7:19 Since I wanted to try new things today that I really like don't do often,

7:23 I wanted to go to a museum.

7:25 So, I'm in Chelsea.

7:26 I was going to go to a fashion museum, but it was closed.

7:28 That was also really sad.

7:29 I walked in and they like shook their head.

7:32 Like, you should have known.

7:33 Instead of that place, Fit, I decided to go to Chelsea.

7:36 There's like a little street where there's tons of galleries

7:39 and you can just like walk in and gallery hop.

7:41 I've always wanted to do this, so I'm very curious.

7:44 I've had a lot of people recommend this to me

7:45 and I've just never like made the time.

7:47 So, that's where I am right now.

7:49 Oh, I'm on the little street of galleries and I think you just like walk in.

7:54 I don't know if you have to pay.

7:55 They obviously have rotating galleries with different

7:58 pieces and different [music] exhibitions every so often.

8:01 So, I'm excited.

8:02 This is a bit spontaneous considering the one I was going to go to was closed.

8:11 [music] [music] [music] All right, guys.

8:23 I'm back home.

8:24 I had a lot of fun today.

8:26 Ironically, it felt very romantic when I think about it.

8:29 Going to the Chelsea Hotel for brunch, looking at the gallery art.

8:34 But hey, that's your sign to romanticize your life alone.

8:37 I think about a lot that I won't have alone time forever.

8:40 like when I have kids and like a family,

8:43 I won't have all of this time to myself.

8:45 And that makes me feel especially appreciative

8:48 of the alone time that sometimes I feel lonely in.

8:51 And I try to remember that and like be grateful for the time

8:53 that I have to myself cuz I know forever that won't be the case.

8:57 Down the line, I'll probably eventually have a family

8:59 and be busier and just like won't have time like this.

9:02 So, I try to really be grateful for it.

9:04 And my mom always tells me that.

9:06 She's like, "Enjoy your time now cuz when you have kids,

9:09 you're going to never be alone again." And my mom is always right.

9:12 I've realized, [music] guys, I was just looking at tickets online.

9:15 I'm really wanting to see the movie Housemmaids because my mom told me

9:19 she really loved it and I just like haven't been able to go.

9:21 I haven't found a time.

9:22 Everyone's busy and I was just like, you know what?

9:25 Why don't I just go tonight?

9:26 Like I could easily go in like an hour and there's a showing.

9:29 So, I think I'm going to go to the movie theater by myself.

9:32 Sounds kind of fun.

9:33 Honestly, I did this once before and I enjoyed it.

9:37 There's a showing in an hour.

9:40 Exactly.

9:40 I mean, at this point, my roommate's gone.

9:43 My boyfriend's working this last minute.

9:45 Those are usually the only two people who can like go with me

9:47 to see something that last minute cuz

9:49 my other friends like live a little further.

9:50 So, I think I might just like go.

9:51 Why not?

9:52 You know, this is kind of crazy.

9:54 This is me.

9:55 This is my version of being spontaneous.

9:58 Booking a movie by myself at the theater.

10:00 Wow.

10:01 I bought the ticket.

10:02 So, I also bought popcorn and [music] a drink ahead of time.

10:05 So, I'm really I'm really like prepped for this.

10:08 Tonight's a leftover type of night because I

10:10 have them in my fridge and it's financially responsible.

10:14 I have sweet potato and chicken.

10:16 Probably throw together like a little salad or something.

10:19 And a salad I did indeed make.

10:21 Why am I talking like this?

10:22 I don't know.

10:22 If you guys watched my recent vlog, you know I've been hooked on this new

10:26 salad with my obsessive repeating [music] food personality.

10:29 I like to eat the same things.

10:31 And then I went to the movies, which was so fun.

10:34 I did not think it was going to be this fun to go by myself,

10:37 but I really enjoyed it.

10:38 And honestly, if you're watching this, please let this be

10:41 your sign to go to the movies by yourself.

10:42 I can't really explain why.

10:43 [music] What's so fun about it?

10:45 I don't know.

10:46 Something about it, it's kind of like weirdly comforting.

10:49 All right, guys.

10:49 I'm back home in my bed.

10:52 I have some thoughts.

10:54 I enjoyed going alone to the movies.

10:56 It's actually like the perfect most ideal activity to do

10:59 by yourself because you are just like watching something happen.

11:03 You don't need someone to converse with.

11:05 Yes, of course.

11:06 It is nice to debrief after the movie with someone.

11:09 I think that's what I'm missing right now.

11:10 I have no one to talk to about it.

11:12 So, that's why I'm talking to you guys.

11:14 If you haven't seen it yet, I would recommend you go see it.

11:17 I actually really liked it.

11:18 Anyways, I love you guys so much.

11:20 Thanks for spending the day with me.

11:22 We did some things that I don't usually do and I

11:24 think it's good to like break out of your routine sometimes,

11:27 especially when you're kind of in a rut.

11:29 So, maybe take this as your sign to do

11:31 that and try new things every once in a while.

11:33 I feel like it's so easy to get

11:34 comfortable in your everyday activities and your everyday spots.

11:37 So, I am going to put a link to the Coach

11:39 Brooklyn bag that I was wearing throughout this video in the description.

11:42 So, if you want to check it out, it's such a good bag.

11:45 Love you guys.

11:46 See you in my next vlog.

11:48 Bye.
