Traveling in Australia Did NOT Meet Expectations... (Sydney vlog)

0:30 But little did I know that the day we landed was one

0:32 of the only sunny days that we would have here during our trip in Sydney.

0:46 Right when we landed, we caught an Uber to the hotel.

0:48 It was so strange being driven on the opposite side of the road.

0:51 The hotel was gorgeous.

0:54 Like, if you have a nice restroom, you know you're at a luxurious hotel.

1:24 And you think, "Oh, it's winter in California.

1:26 It's going to be summer in Australia." I packed all summer clothes.

1:32 I'm a little bit sad because I really wanted my family to enjoy summer,

1:37 but it's exactly like the weather in California.

1:40 If not, like I think California is actually probably sunny.

1:44 So, I don't want to get down over this cuz I already was last night.

1:50 So there's no point in getting upset over anything.

1:55 Also just exploring like Sydney in general.

1:58 There are so many beautiful alleyways and you can walk down a street,

2:03 look down a narrow alley and it opens up into this beautiful

2:06 like network of shops and restaurants and it's just so gorgeous.

2:11 Just even walking around I think is a really fun experience.

2:15 To add insult to injury, I parked my car at school and then I

2:20 get a email saying that I'm illegally parked on campus.

2:23 I'm like, what's going on?

2:24 They changed their parking rules to where now permits don't

2:27 automatically renew for the next semester and I didn't see that.

2:31 I'm a senior.

2:32 For the past 3 years, I have never had to renew for the next semester.

2:36 Once you buy it for fall, it will automatically renew for spring.

2:40 I got a citation.

2:41 I'm parked all the way across the country.

2:43 I can't contact anybody to see if my car is okay.

2:48 Are they going to tow it?

2:49 It's Monday for me, but it's Sunday for them, so they're not open.

2:52 So, remember how I was freaking out about my car being gone?

3:16 So, my car is parked in the structure that I

3:26 well, my car still be illegally parked cuz I'm in the wrong structure.

3:31 I tried to head into the day with an optimistic mindset,

3:34 which was slightly difficult given the dreary weather.

3:37 But no storm cloud can take away from Sydney's beauty and architecture.

3:47 We're on a mission to find an umbrella

3:49 and then also we're going to go get some coffee.

3:52 I've yet to find like a good coffin.

3:54 It's like lightly drizzling so it's bearable,

4:01 These hole-in-the-wall convenience stores were everywhere in Sydney,

4:04 all over the city, and even by the beaches.

4:06 You can just grab and go with whatever you need.

4:12 We are in an Uber on the way to Bondi.

4:15 We're going to go to a cafe.

4:16 It's raining a lot harder outside, so I'm glad I grabbed the umbrella.

4:22 There's always hope that a good meal will turn your mood around.

4:24 And this cafe over at Bondi is extremely popular.

4:27 There is a long line, so that must mean it's good, right?

5:10 We made it to the iconic Bondi Beach,

5:12 but there was no one there because of the weather.

5:14 But I heard about a coastal walk you must do when you visit Sydney.

5:17 I'm going to do the walk and I'll show you the sites.

5:19 This is gorgeous.

5:20 There's so many beaches.

5:21 So many just little ones that you can find by just walking along the coast.

5:25 This is the beginning of the trail.

5:26 You begin your journey over at the icebergs, which is the name of this pool.

5:29 Right beside the ocean water.

5:31 How beautiful.

5:32 Cooji Beach is 2 mi away.

5:34 I was wrong.

5:35 The walk ends at Coogi Beach, which is actually 3.7 miles away.

5:42 This is so gorgeous.

5:43 While this walk was the most scenic experience I've ever had in my life,

5:47 truly impossible to capture on camera, we were severely unprepared for this.

5:50 Like, my boyfriend is wearing jeans, a polo, and Converse.

5:53 We didn't have water, and soon we'd be too far to turn back.

7:06 The entire time I thought this overcast weather would protect us from the sun.

7:10 But when we finally sat down and took a break after hours of walking,

7:14 I noticed something weird was happening to my boyfriend.

7:18 He was starting to look a little bit different.

7:24 He was sunburned.

7:25 He never applied sunscreen that entire time.

7:28 So, Caleb got sunburned.

7:35 But honestly, I think American sunscreen doesn't

7:38 for him the next day when we were back at Bondi Beach for a sunny day.
