0:14 Welcome to the show.

0:15 Happy Wednesday hump day.

0:17 It's April 29th and we are talking about

0:19 our first mock draft since the NFL draft.

0:21 It was a 12 team PPR league and we'll talk about where the rookies went.

0:26 Jeremiah Love went in the third round.

0:27 The next rookie off the board take some guesses just in your head.

0:32 Just guess where who you think the next one off the board was.

0:35 You're wrong.

0:35 It was Cornell Tate.

0:37 Um and then we had a surprise at three in terms of rookies being drafted.

0:42 Anyway, good morning Heath Cummings.

0:45 Hey Adam.

0:46 Jamie.

0:48 Looks like the chat's working again.

0:49 That's cool.

0:50 Yeah.

0:51 Oh, look at this I mean Adam is the man.

0:54 He chose a questionable football team, but he is the man.

0:58 The chat is working.

0:59 It's about time.

1:00 Chat's knowledgeable, too.

1:03 [laughter] Uh well, I don't know about that because

1:04 baseball Why don't you read the last one?

1:07 Adam's team is going to be sneaky good this year, the Giants.

1:09 I'm not so sure I agree.

1:10 Um oh, uh starting late again.

1:13 What will Adam's excuse be?

1:14 Hangnail or time of the month?

1:18 Oh, no.

1:21 [laughter] Yeah, not not sure why you read that one.

1:22 Yeah, why?

1:24 Jamie told me to.

1:25 Yeah, that's a good it's a good lesson

1:28 that you should have learned about a decade ago

1:31 that doing something just because Jamie told you

1:33 to when you're on the air is a mistake.

1:36 So, when I know if that was a terrible mistake.

1:40 I don't Yeah, I don't I hope it's not that bad.

1:42 To be honest with you,

1:44 um I didn't read it until I clicked on it and read it out That [laughter]

1:49 I'm Ron Burgundy.

1:51 Um okay, anyway, we'll get to the draft in a little bit.

1:54 We have some some news and notes for you.

1:56 Fifth-year options a little surprising

1:59 or revealing fifth-year option being picked up.

2:01 Before we do that though, we'll get to the all the results of the draft,

2:05 but just a quick starter question.

2:07 Did your draft approach change uh after the NFL

2:12 draft in terms of the strategies you were implementing?

2:15 Did anything change with this rookie crop, Dave?

2:18 Yes.

2:19 I I'm going to You're going to accuse me of going back

2:23 to the old school way of drafting that I I came to know and love,

2:28 but I'm going to do it.

2:29 I think running backs need to be taken a lot sooner than normal this year.

2:33 I just don't think there's going to be a lot of good running back

2:35 talent left by the time we get to not even the middle of the draft.

2:40 Like maybe like by the end of round six,

2:42 you're going to look at the running backs left after

2:43 that and you might puke on your shoes and that's not good.

2:47 I think that getting running backs early just because

2:50 of how the running backs went in the NFL draft

2:53 are going to be something that you have to do

2:55 if you want to feel good about that position.

2:57 I think this is a bad year to go zero RB.

3:00 Interesting.

3:01 Okay.

3:02 Jamie, did anything change for you?

3:04 Um no, I I kind of felt this way I

3:08 think a little bit prior to the NFL draft with some

3:10 of the drafts we were doing and just sort of looking

3:12 at how it was going to unfold with the draft class.

3:14 So, you know, I was a little bit more hopeful I think going

3:18 into the draft that we may get a Mike Washington in a good destination,

3:22 a John Metchie in a good destination, you know, something like that.

3:25 And they didn't really land in ideal spots.

3:27 You know, we got two I think starters

3:29 for sure and Jeremiah Love and one potential one.

3:32 I would consider Zamir White a number two running back,

3:35 but we didn't get the influx at least on paper that we thought last year.

3:38 You know, last year and it didn't work out this way a couple of, you know,

3:43 pockets here and there.

3:44 Um you know, R.J.

3:46 Harvey at the end, Raheem Mostert for a couple weeks,

3:48 but it didn't it didn't work out,

3:49 but at least going into it we thought, "Oh, wow, okay.

3:52 Maybe the Patriots have their their new running back.

3:54 Maybe the Broncos have their new running back." Um you know,

3:57 James Robinson was obviously somebody we were drafting.

3:59 Cam Akers got hurt.

4:00 Uh but this class, you know,

4:01 just uninspiring by comparison and certainly uninspiring by destination.

4:06 So, I think Dave's right.

4:08 I think if you can not necessarily like over prioritize running back,

4:12 but I think if you if you come away

4:14 with your first four rounds getting two running backs in that range,

4:19 I think you're probably in a good spot.

4:20 You know, I'm I'm a big proponent of hero RB.

4:24 I think that's worked It's certainly worked well for me.

4:26 I think it works well overall.

4:28 This year I'm not opposed to going,

4:30 you know, two running backs early or earlier.

4:33 Okay.

4:33 Heath?

4:34 Yeah, I think um I was [clears throat]

4:37 kind of in the three running backs and three

4:40 wide receivers in the first six rounds before

4:42 the draft and that's kind of how I feel now.

4:45 It feels like wide receiver in round seven and eight might

4:49 be a little better than what it looked like a month ago

4:52 just cuz I think those three top three rookie wide receivers are

4:55 all going to go in that round seven or eight range now,

4:58 maybe six in some drafts.

5:00 Um and so that that gives us a little bit

5:02 more depth than than we had at the wide receiver position,

5:05 but it's it's still probably I mean I'm always going to just

5:09 kind of to a certain extent take what the draft gives me.

5:12 Yeah.

5:13 But there's there's running backs in round five

5:15 and six that I'm perfectly fine with as starters.

5:18 So, if I end up with three wide receivers early

5:20 and then take three wide running backs, I'm fine with it.

5:23 Running backs in rounds five and six that you're fine with as starters.

5:27 The the round five running backs were Raheem Mostert,

5:30 Cam Akers, Quintez Cephus, D'Andre Swift, Breece Hall, Tyjae Spears.

5:35 Round six was David Montgomery, Zamir White,

5:38 Jaylen Warren, Tony Pollard, Chuba Hubbard.

5:42 So, Dave, when you look at that group,

5:43 Raheem Mostert, Cam Akers, Quintez Cephus,

5:45 D'Andre Swift, Breece Hall, David Montgomery,

5:47 Zamir White, Jaylen Warren, Tony Pollard, Chuba Hubbard.

5:50 Are you comfortable with that group?

5:52 You just don't want to go any deeper,

5:53 you know, beyond that to start getting your running backs?

5:55 Yeah, I I agree with Heath.

5:57 I think those are running backs that are fine as starters to begin the year.

6:01 I think a couple of those guys might end up going

6:03 a lot sooner than round five by the time we get to August.

6:07 And that's really about it.

6:09 Did you name the round seven running backs?

6:12 No, that was five and six.

6:13 Round seven, yeah, there's a drop-off for sure.

6:15 R.J.

6:16 Harvey, Rhamondre Stevenson, then Rico Dowdle in round eight, Kenneth Gainwell.

6:20 So, that's a that's six rounds basically of not every running back cuz I can't

6:25 sit here and say that Raheem Mostert's going to be a good starter for you.

6:29 Um you know, I don't know the status of Cam Akers and Quintez Cephus right now,

6:33 but but round round five and six running backs are not bad.

6:37 Round seven and beyond gets a little dicey.

6:39 Obviously, there could be some exceptions in there.

6:41 But that's the the way this draft played out.

6:42 This was a 12 team three receiver full PPR league with a flex as well.

6:47 And I would just say the thing that changed

6:49 it didn't change for me in terms of my draft.

6:51 It almost did.

6:52 I almost drafted A.J.

6:53 Brown, but just looking at the landscape a little bit, once A.J.

6:58 Brown gets traded to the Patriots, I think it's better.

7:01 I think we obviously have a better receiver for the Patriots.

7:05 It's sure it's going to hurt Romeo Doubs,

7:06 but whatever, but it's going to help A.J.

7:08 Brown.

7:09 It's going to help DeVonta Smith and I

7:11 think it's going to help Tyquan Thornton, too.

7:13 Um and maybe Dallas Goedert.

7:14 I think an A.J.

7:15 Brown to the Patriots is going to help Drake Maye.

7:17 I think an A.J.

7:18 Brown to the Patriots trade is is pretty good for fantasy.

7:21 Uh makes our draft board a little bit stronger.

7:23 I personally

7:24 a little friendship strategy with both those guys.

7:26 I saw that.

7:27 I saw that.

7:28 Um how do you feel?

7:29 Well, you know what?

7:30 I was um I'll ask you about it later.

7:33 It's in my notes.

7:34 I can see how you felt about Wait,

7:36 which which guys did you do the friendship strategy with?

7:39 With uh A.J.

7:40 Brown and Romeo Doubs.

7:40 Oh, I'm sorry.

7:41 I thought you meant uh you also did it with Dalton Kincaid and Luke Musgrave.

7:45 Jamie's just uh he's a friend to everyone these days.

7:49 When you when it comes to picking comments I'm struggling with the cuz

7:54 I I we're kind of just all working on the assumption that A.J.

7:56 Brown's going to be on the Patriots.

7:58 Yeah.

7:59 Be a little weird at this point if he wasn't.

8:01 When when you say it's better for him to go to New England,

8:06 like how high are you thinking you're going to draft him because he's been

8:10 a top 12 wide receiver per game

8:12 pretty much every game every year in Philadelphia.

8:14 Yeah, 211 I was on the clock and was was strongly considering him.

8:18 Jamie took him at 212.

8:20 So, I think right around there and honestly, wouldn't surprise me

8:24 Which is where which is later than where he was being drafted last year, right?

8:28 Yeah, but it's not later than where he was being drafted in our mock

8:32 drafts when we thought he was more likely to stay on Philadelphia.

8:35 I think people were down on him.

8:36 I think he has more upside on on New England than he does on Philadelphia.

8:40 Yep.

8:40 Do you?

8:43 I'm not entirely sure.

8:45 Um I understand the narrative of why that is.

8:47 Like everybody's in the mode of questioning

8:50 Jaylen Hurts right now and everybody's

8:52 excited about Drake Maye being one of the top two quarterbacks in the NFL.

8:56 And so that makes sense,

8:58 but I think it's still probably a low volume pass offense.

9:03 And it's still pro a team I think most likely the Patriots are

9:07 going to be have less concentrated targets than the Eagles have when A.J.

9:11 Brown's been there.

9:13 I just kind of view him as the same as he would be with the Eagles this year.

9:19 Essentially, you know, so same draft range.

9:22 I I I think the range of outcomes is different, you know,

9:24 so I do think if they are going to be as aggressive as they

9:28 have to be to get him with whatever draft capital they have to give up.

9:32 Like this is Josh Allen getting Stefon Diggs.

9:34 This is you know, I'm I'm trying to think

9:37 of the other recent examples of you know, young quarterbacks one.

9:42 Donovan McNabb getting Terrell Owens.

9:45 The exactly, you know, that type of situation.

9:47 You know, so any any time that these teams are are getting aggressive

9:52 to go get a player like this, it obviously is to, you know,

9:56 take a team that went to the Super Bowl and get them better,

9:59 but I think it's also to make their young quarterback better.

10:01 And so, you know, uh yes, Heath, it's probably more concentrated targets,

10:06 but this could also be their version of Brown and Smith is Brown and and Dobbs,

10:10 and hopefully that's you know,

10:12 going to make Drake Maye better and and and obviously keep A.J.

10:15 Brown playing a high level.

10:16 I do agree with you though, like the narrative that he's going to struggle

10:19 or would struggle in Philadelphia is is a little overblown.

10:22 Uh our buddy, you know, uh who comes on our show a lot, Jake Seeley,

10:26 um I happened to see on on Twitter on X he posted

10:29 a whole slew of clips of um Jalen Hurts throwing to A.J.

10:33 Brown over the middle and how it's just a little bit

10:36 of an overblown narrative that he can't do it, won't do it.

10:38 Um so that's a good thing for McKyle Lemon as well.

10:40 Uh but obviously I think you just look at A.J.

10:42 Brown and just say, okay, he's got top-10 upside,

10:45 he's maybe slips into that 15 to 20 range if things go poorly,

10:50 but you're drafting him as a borderline number one receiver,

10:53 which is what I did anyway.

10:54 Um I I was perfectly fine with him.

10:56 Okay.

10:58 And uh that's just one more note on that because Jeff Stoutland,

11:02 their former offensive line coach,

11:04 went on the Kelce brothers podcast and they asked

11:07 him what went wrong with the Eagles and he said,

11:11 I think anytime things don't go well,

11:12 and I don't want to sound like I'm in an interview,

11:14 but it's the truth, it's execution.

11:16 It's calling the right play at the right

11:17 time and not running bad plays into bad defenses.

11:20 I mean, it ain't that hard.

11:22 I'm not going to sit here and make up all these That's pretty much it.

11:25 So, talks about the play calling, so [laughter] Put it all on Kevin Patullo.

11:30 A little bit.

11:32 Um all right, uh enough about the Eagles.

11:35 Let's get to this mock draft in a bit.

11:36 By the way, if you uh I don't even know who won the draft contest.

11:40 Thomas has been out, but as soon as he comes back,

11:42 which I think might be tomorrow, we'll let you know who won the NFL

11:44 draft contest and who's in the podcast league.

11:46 So if you've been waiting for that, we'll

11:47 let you know shortly, hopefully tomorrow.

11:50 Uh news and notes, the Jets are considering

11:52 signing Russell Wilson to back up Geno Smith.

11:55 The Lions picked up Jahmyr Gibbs's fifth year option.

11:58 The Char- That's not a surprise.

12:00 The Chargers, Dave though,

12:01 they picked up Quentin Johnston's Johnston's fifth year option.

12:04 That's going to pay him about $18 million next year.

12:07 So that's a nice little vote of confidence for Quentin Johnston, isn't it?

12:10 It is, and I'm sure they love his speed and and the other things that he can do.

12:15 We all got a taste of what that upside

12:17 is for QJ in the first four games last year.

12:19 He still wasn't a total train wreck after those first four games.

12:23 I think he averaged right around 11 PPR points per game.

12:26 That's a good bench receiver,

12:27 one of about 30 of them that you'll be able to draft this year.

12:32 Okay.

12:33 Carolina running back Jonathan Brooks says he feels 100% he's got,

12:37 you know, two ACL tears in recent seasons.

12:40 It's exciting.

12:41 It is exciting.

12:42 Dave took Jonathan Brooks in round 13.

12:46 Yeah.

12:46 He will not go in round 13 again.

12:50 All right, better value,

12:52 Jonathan Brooks in round 13 or Chuba Hubbard with the last pick of round 12?

12:56 Chuba Hubbard did not go with the last pick in round 12.

12:58 He went with the last pick in round last pick in round six.

13:01 I would say Jonathan Brooks.

13:03 I would I would lean Brooks,

13:06 but I think that's I think Brooks would probably go closer

13:09 to round 9-10 and Chuba's going to go in that spot.

13:13 Okay.

13:14 Back to the news and notes.

13:16 Bo Nix had a second ankle surgery, so his process a little bit delayed here,

13:20 but he's still expected to be ready for training camp.

13:23 The Steelers put an unrestricted free agent tender on Aaron Rodgers.

13:27 This will help them get a compensatory pick if he does not come back.

13:30 We still expect him to come back to the Steelers.

13:33 And the Rams apparently had a secret meeting with Ty Simpson.

13:37 John Breech wrote a good article about this on our website cbssports.com.

13:41 So we saw the post- draft press conference where Sean

13:44 McVay looked like very angry about um the Simpson draft pick,

13:48 but I don't the reporting indicates that wasn't really the case,

13:52 that maybe he was just trying to protect Matthew Stafford a little bit.

13:55 And they met with Simpson, they met with his family during the Rose Bowl

13:59 and gave them an indication that they were going

14:01 to take Simpson in the first round cuz Simpson

14:03 had a big NIL offer from the Miami Hurricanes,

14:06 $6.5 million reportedly, to stay another year.

14:09 He wanted to make sure he was going to be a first-round pick.

14:11 Uh addi- So the Rams gave him that indication

14:14 during the college football season that, you know,

14:16 toward the end, that he was going to be a first-round pick.

14:18 And then they had a secret meeting with the Rams.

14:20 The Rams don't Sean McVay never goes

14:22 to the combine and the Rams don't do top-30 visits.

14:25 They don't bring people in cuz you have to report that.

14:27 But they had a meeting with Ty Simpson and you don't have

14:29 to report that if you go to a player to a prospect, you know, and meet with him.

14:33 So they kept it a secret, they kept it under wraps,

14:36 and they drafted him 13th and and I think from a dynasty standpoint,

14:39 if you believe that narrative that they actually really

14:41 did want him and McVay wasn't that angry about it,

14:43 I think it might give you a little

14:44 more confidence in drafting Simpson as a stash.

14:47 Well, I think uh Les Snead has a relationship with Simpson's dad.

14:51 So that's part of it, too.

14:53 Yeah.

14:53 All right, let's take a break and review this mock

14:55 draft when we get back on Fantasy Football Today.

14:57 And by the way, if you're just listening,

14:59 you should go to youtube.com/fantasyfootballtoday and see

15:02 the results there on the video.

15:04 youtube.com/fantasyfootballtoday.

15:06 We'll be right back.

15:11 [cheering] Gamebred is in the building.

15:19 Chris Weidman.

15:22 Dean Thomas.

15:23 Are you ready?

15:24 Oh boy, this one is going to be crazy.

15:29 [music]

15:32 Welcome back.

15:34 So let's go through where the rookies went in this draft, but honestly,

15:37 we've talked a lot about these rookies and their draft value for the last week,

15:39 so I've got some other questions about NFL veterans

15:42 that I don't feel like we talked enough about, yeah.

15:44 Adam, the thing you asked to be changed is changed.

15:47 Love it.

15:49 All right.

15:52 [laughter] Um we're trying to change something in the draft room.

15:55 Oh, there you go.

15:56 There's the sound of the sleeper draft room.

15:58 Trying to change something in the draft room,

16:00 that's why I waited a little bit longer than I wanted to to get into this draft,

16:03 but it is changed and we are good to go.

16:06 Okay.

16:07 Uh 12 teams, one QB, two running backs, three receivers,

16:11 one flex, tight end, believe six bench spots, and full PPR.

16:18 So here are where the rookies went.

16:19 Jeremiah Love went with the fourth pick of round three.

16:25 He was RB 13 after Omarian Hampton, Saquon Barkley, and Ken Walker.

16:30 Heath, how do you feel about that Jeremiah Love pick?

16:33 That's almost exactly where I have him.

16:36 Maybe maybe a spot or two higher, but just just about right for me and probably

16:41 a round lower than he's going to be drafted in August.

16:46 Okay.

16:46 So everybody's getting really excited about him.

16:48 The next running backs were Travis Etienne or Achane,

16:52 Jacobs, Irvin, and one of my questions have Jacobs.

16:56 Yeah.

16:57 One of my questions is why did Josh Jacobs last so long?

17:00 Should Wonder if we should integrate

17:03 these questions in with the rookies Partially,

17:06 he lasted so long because you took Ken Walker over him.

17:10 Which was a tough call for me.

17:12 No doubt.

17:13 And I took Omarian Hampton over him, too.

17:16 Josh uh Dave, where should Josh Jacobs go?

17:18 Round two.

17:20 You can't forget about how the first half of last year went

17:23 and what that and that should be close to the expectation for Jacobs.

17:27 When he's the lead workhorse, he's getting over 20 touches per game,

17:31 he's averaging close to 20 PPR points per game.

17:33 That's the ceiling.

17:34 That's the upside.

17:36 That's where you draft players.

17:38 If you're expecting that, you draft him in round one, not round two.

17:41 We're getting him in round two and it's

17:43 because of the possible limitations related to injury,

17:46 related to the Packers offensive line, maybe the offense in general,

17:49 but this is a Packers team that thinned out its

17:51 receiving core and should keep Jacobs in a big prominent role.

17:56 He's 28 years old this year, that's not too old for a running back.

17:59 I think round two is a very safe spot for Josh

18:01 Jacobs to go and certainly the back half of round two.

18:05 So Jamie and I took three running backs with Jacobs on the board.

18:09 We took Hampton, Barkley, and Ken Walker.

18:12 Did we mess up, Heath?

18:14 I think I I know I'm going to have Hampton I have Hampton ahead of Jacobs.

18:20 Yep.

18:20 I know I have Jacobs ahead of Walker.

18:23 And Barkley is just right there in the same in the same vicinity.

18:28 I wouldn't say that's that's messing up.

18:29 I think that's just a coin flip between those two.

18:32 But I I think the only one it that I saw that and then I thought

18:36 the other thing I saw was with Dave

18:38 taking Chase Brown in the middle of round two.

18:42 I'm not sure that I see a a huge difference between Chase Brown and Josh Jacobs.

18:47 There's a little difference, but they they both have the upside to score

18:51 20 fantasy points per game um if everything goes right.

18:54 And so I wonder if if Dave's seeing Jacobs fall past his third-round

18:59 pick makes him think he could have taken someone different in round two.

19:02 I didn't know who I should have taken instead of Chase Brown.

19:05 It was down to Brown or Pickens for me.

19:09 And if I if I'm playing the game of, well,

19:11 there's only one wide receiver that I like

19:13 and there's like six running backs that I like,

19:16 I should just take the one wide receiver, supply and demand.

19:19 But I didn't do that.

19:20 There was one running back that I thought was head and shoulders above the rest,

19:22 that was Chase Brown.

19:24 His I think his floor is higher than Jacobs

19:26 and his ceiling is just as high as Jacobs.

19:28 Still really love getting pieces of that Bengals offense and he

19:31 showed us last year when he was playing with Burrow,

19:35 he was getting a lot of touches and he's he scored a ton of fantasy points.

19:39 I don't think the Bengals did much of anything to change

19:41 their running back room or philosophy on how they might use Chase Brown.

19:47 I'm very excited about Chase Brown this year

19:49 and I would take him ahead of Jacobs, I would take him ahead of of Hampton.

19:52 I would take him ahead of Jeremiyah Love.

19:54 I think he's a borderline first round pick.

19:57 But if you can get him in round two, I I think you're winning big time.

20:01 Chase Brown.

20:02 I would have taken him ahead of your first round pick.

20:04 Ooh.

20:05 I had made I was going to make a joke about that.

20:07 They took Achane sixth overall and Chase Brown in the middle of round two.

20:12 Chase Brown in from weeks 9 through 17 in 2024,

20:16 that was when he became the starter.

20:18 Zach Moss was moved out of the picture.

20:20 He averaged 20.6 PPR fantasy points per game.

20:23 And then weeks 13 through 18 last year, that's when Joe Burrow returned.

20:27 Chase Brown averaged 22.3 PPR fantasy points per game.

20:31 So that's probably about That's the ceiling.

20:35 17 games?

20:36 Yeah.

20:37 Um But it's that's a that's a hell of a good ceiling.

20:39 That's QB1 ceiling for a running back.

20:42 Yeah, RB1, yeah.

20:45 [snorts] Uh okay.

20:44 So moving on, back to the draft and the rookies.

20:47 Carnell Tate pick five.3, round five pick three.

20:51 That's wide receiver 27.

20:53 Just after Jamie took Luther Burden and I took DJ Moore.

20:58 Uh so then Luther then is Luther Burden, DJ Moore, Carnell Tate.

21:01 Those were the three wide receivers basically at the beginning of round five.

21:06 Then Zay Flowers, Terry McLaurin,

21:08 Romeo Doubs were the next three receivers off the board.

21:11 Jamie, do you think that's a good spot for Carnell Tate,

21:13 third pick of round five, wide receiver 27 overall?

21:19 Yeah, it's a little earlier than I would take him, but it's the range, you know.

21:21 So you're talking about high end,

21:23 you know, number three wide receiver, you know.

21:26 Once you start to get past this group of guys,

21:28 you know, I I I think he belongs after these guys.

21:31 Uh for me at least.

21:32 So, you know, you can you can argue, you know, Tate versus McLaurin.

21:36 I'd rather have McLaurin.

21:37 Tate versus Doubs.

21:38 I'd rather have Doubs.

21:40 Um I'd rather have him than Metcalf.

21:42 I'd rather have Washington than Tate, you know.

21:44 So it it's just that range of of wide receivers.

21:46 But I think anytime you start to First off, it's first draft we've done.

21:50 Um you know, post NFL draft.

21:52 So it's you know, kind of a feeling out process

21:54 of when these guys are going to come off the board.

21:56 Um so it's you know, if if you know, Gamer Eric was one of our, you know,

22:02 most dedicated podcast listeners and and, you know, stream followers.

22:06 Always in the chat.

22:07 Gamer who?

22:07 Gamer who?

22:08 Eric.

22:09 There you go.

22:09 Thank you.

22:10 Um I you know, if he does if we do this draft again and he's like,

22:14 oh, I could have maybe gotten McLaurin here.

22:16 I could have gotten, you know, somebody else there.

22:18 Maybe he waits around and gets him, you know, again, you know,

22:20 similar to like what what I would have done with Dave's draft.

22:22 I would have flipped the two here in terms of Tate and Christian Watson.

22:27 Okay.

22:27 Well, the thing is you're talking about flipping Achane and Chase Brown.

22:32 Jamie.

22:33 Yes.

22:33 Yeah, but the thing you're not no one's going

22:35 to get Devon Achane in the middle of round two.

22:37 Well, that's his ADP.

22:38 No way.

22:40 Really?

22:40 I haven't seen him go that early.

22:42 or his consensus rank?

22:44 Oh, maybe it's his consensus rank.

22:46 Either way, that's pretty surprising.

22:49 And I get He's a round two pick for me, so.

22:51 Yeah, I get it.

22:52 Totally get it.

22:53 I still think he's going to be Who else is going to get the ball in Miami?

22:58 And I it's it's almost the same theory that I

23:00 have for Jeremiyah Love that I have for Achane.

23:03 Just talent will win out and will earn opportunities.

23:06 But at least in Miami,

23:08 there there isn't much for Malik Willis to throw to there.

23:12 And so I I think Achane's going to end up He's not

23:15 going to average five targets per game like he did last year.

23:17 Even if that comes down to three,

23:19 that's still going to be a pretty good fantasy running back.

23:22 I think he can get around 18 PPR points per game.

23:25 And with that type of profile, that's still a first round pick.

23:28 Yeah, I would I would take the under just given how crappy this offense might be

23:31 and I don't think Willis will throw to him to the same level that Tua did.

23:35 We saw that when Tua left.

23:37 I agree.

23:37 That's why I'm thinking three targets per game instead of five.

23:40 Yeah, yeah, yeah.

23:40 No, I think that's realistic.

23:43 That's it.

23:43 Jamie's right on this one.

23:45 No, you're you're both wrong.

23:47 Three targets per game, that's nothing.

23:49 That's nothing.

23:50 I'm not sure that we can totally know

23:53 with a new offensive system and a new quarterback.

23:57 But what I can say is if it's three targets per game,

24:00 then I am not taking him in the middle of round one

24:04 and I might not take him in the middle of round two.

24:07 Yeah, I'm sorry, Jamie.

24:07 I totally stepped on your toes there.

24:09 Um but I was just incensed by three targets per game.

24:12 What were you saying?

24:13 No, I just think it's going to be a crappy situation,

24:15 so uh this this also feels like, you know, you never want to project this out,

24:19 but like he he's a potential shut down candidate toward the end of the season.

24:23 Like you know, there there they're clearly in tank mode.

24:26 And so if you get to a point where, you know,

24:29 he's still producing and they want to lose games,

24:33 he gets his contract by that point, he's sitting.

24:36 Uh this is Devon Achane we're talking about here.

24:38 The Dolphins, by the way, look, they are going to have a bad offense, we think.

24:40 They were 25th in scoring last year.

24:43 I guess tied for 25th.

24:45 So it's not like they were that good.

24:46 Exactly.

24:47 And but but they could be worse.

24:51 So if if you're interested in the track

24:53 record and this will make you squeamish on Achane,

24:55 uh Malik Willis's target rate to running backs

24:57 in his career is 13.1% and it was 9.1% in college.

25:01 So not great.

25:03 Quarterbacks under Bobby Slowik in Houston,

25:05 that's basically CJ Stroud for his first couple of years,

25:08 16% target rate to running backs.

25:10 So you have to bake in a much lower receiving workload for Achane.

25:17 And how many how many I might be talking myself out of Achane here.

25:20 How many total touchdowns did he have last year?

25:24 Uh Achane had six rushing, six receiving.

25:28 Okay.

25:29 And so we're already discounting his receiving numbers.

25:31 I If he has eight total touchdowns

25:34 and he's not going to have 488 receiving yards,

25:38 yeah, I I I think I'm realizing right here I'm sorry.

25:43 I was looking at the wrong year.

25:45 Uh he had Oh, he had 12.

25:47 He had eight rushing and four receiving.

25:49 Yeah, so okay.

25:51 different different touchdowns.

25:51 But let's knock that down to eight total.

25:53 No.

25:54 What are we doing?

25:55 Killing him.

25:56 Well, but this is realistic at this point

25:59 because I think the rushing scores will be there.

26:02 It's the receiving workload.

26:03 He had almost 500 receiving yards last year

26:06 and I think that number is going to come down.

26:08 I think the rushing average will probably be a little bit lower.

26:11 And so if all these numbers are going to come down,

26:13 why the hell am I taking him in the first round?

26:15 I was going to say like the longer Dave talks,

26:18 the more he's talking himself out of Like [laughter]

26:22 He's going to be in round three by the time Dave finishes.

26:24 Malik Willis's Malik Willis's RB target rate with the Green

26:29 Bay Packers with Josh Jacobs as their pass catcher,

26:33 basically, versus what he's going to be on the Dolphins

26:37 with no wide receivers to speak of, essentially, Yeah.

26:40 is to me completely irrelevant.

26:43 And he's not going to throw that much.

26:44 I get that.

26:45 But there I mean like three targets per game is is 51.

26:48 What's that?

26:49 Is that right?

26:50 51 targets for the year.

26:52 Um obviously he's going to have more targets than that.

26:54 It's it's got to be four or five targets per game for Devon

26:57 Achane and um he's he's probably going to lead the team in receiving.

27:01 So it's very possible anyways.

27:05 And that might be a stretch.

27:05 He's going to be up there.

27:07 [laughter] I don't know.

27:08 We're going to have to We're going to have to sit down and figure this out.

27:11 And you know what?

27:12 He is in our backyard.

27:13 So there there's no excuses for us.

27:15 We're going to have to be at Dolphins camp and put our ear to the ground

27:19 on this stuff cuz this is a What happens in Green Bay stays in Green Bay.

27:23 Doesn't To me, it doesn't really apply.

27:26 Well, yeah, because it's a different offensive coordinator,

27:28 but just a similar type of like system conceptually.

27:32 Like it's both West Coast stuff.

27:34 I don't think Willis is as good of a thrower

27:36 as as other quarterback like as Jordan Love as an example.

27:40 He's certainly more of a runner.

27:41 That's going to hurt Devon Achane.

27:42 I actually think I should take a step back on the rushing average

27:45 going down because usually running backs

27:47 with mobile quarterbacks see a an efficiency spike.

27:51 They're seeing men in the box, though.

27:52 It's just going to be terrible.

27:54 Yeah, Achane's beaten that before, though, man.

27:56 Like this this He's beaten that with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle on the field.

27:59 He's beaten that with Mike McDaniel calling plays.

28:01 I mean He did it last year and Tyreek wasn't on the field last year.

28:04 Losing McDaniel is a huge deal.

28:06 And Slowik's track record suggests that he he may not

28:10 lean into Achane as a receiver as much as McDaniel did.

28:15 And Willis doesn't necessarily when he's panicked like Tua was panicked,

28:19 what did Tua do when he panicked?

28:20 He got the ball out as fast as he could to the closest teammate to him.

28:24 Good chunk of the time, that was Devon Achane.

28:26 I don't know if Malik Willis is going

28:27 to do that cuz Malik Willis might run instead.

28:30 So I I think there's reason to revisit Devon Achane as a top six pick.

28:35 If I could do it again, I don't know if I would have picked him.

28:37 Johnny and Eric are on fire right now.

28:40 [laughter] All right, listen.

28:40 I I agree that I I've been making a case for Achane.

28:43 I wouldn't take him seven I wouldn't take him six.

28:45 But I think I think you just basically

28:47 just buried his fantasy [laughter] value a little bit.

28:51 I wish we had podcasted yesterday and talked about him yesterday so

28:55 I could have known this before we went into our first mock.

28:58 Uh yeah, right.

28:58 It's working out.

28:59 Okay.

29:00 Uh the next So the first two rookies were

29:01 Jeremiyah Love at at the fourth pick of round three,

29:04 Carnell Tate third pick of round five.

29:06 Then we had Kemani Vidal as tight end six with the sixth pick of round six.

29:11 We think that is too early for Kemani Vidal.

29:14 Uh way too early.

29:16 Maybe a full draft too early.

29:18 Uh Jaylen Wright was the next [laughter]

29:21 He should get drafted, but that's too early.

29:24 Jaylen Wright was the next pick, though.

29:26 He was 6.7.

29:28 Jaylen Wright, Seattle running back, last pick of round one in the NFL draft,

29:32 seventh pick of round six in fantasy drafts.

29:34 RB26.

29:36 In between David Montgomery and Jaylen Warren.

29:39 Heath, quick thoughts on Jaylen Wright.

29:41 That seems just about right to me.

29:43 Um I I think this range of the kind

29:47 of the last starting running backs or the guys

29:49 we hope are the last starting running backs

29:51 is exactly how I feel about Jarrian Price.

29:55 And I I would prefer him to Tate.

29:58 So like amongst the rookies, maybe he went a little later,

30:01 but and I I also prefer him to Kendre Miller.

30:04 But I I think that amongst the running backs, this is this is just about right.

30:10 Okay, next two picks we'll look at round seven.

30:12 We have Rakim Lemon at at uh 7.2 and Jordan Addison 7.9.

30:18 Rakim Lemon was wide receiver 34.

30:20 He went just after Marvin Harrison Jr.

30:23 and right before Brian Thomas Jr.

30:25 So Rakim Lemon second pick of round seven at wide

30:28 receiver 34 and Jordan Addison three receivers after that.

30:32 It went uh Lemon, then Harold Fannin, R.J.

30:35 Harvey, Brian Thomas Jr., Alec Pierce,

30:38 Dak Prescott, Rhamondre Stevenson, Jordan Addison.

30:41 I took Lemon and at that point I had Ja'Marr Chase, Mike Evans, and DJ Moore.

30:47 I can't remember who I was deciding.

30:49 I I certainly wasn't going to take Brian Thomas Jr.

30:51 or Alec Pierce there.

30:53 I don't think Pierce is a bad pick, just not for me.

30:55 Oh, I was deciding between him and Fannin, I think.

30:58 Um cuz I didn't have a tight end.

31:00 I went with Lemon just because I wanted

31:02 like I have Mike Evans, you know, DJ Moore.

31:06 I wanted a young exciting player basically that yeah,

31:10 look, this pick could be a total bust.

31:12 That's okay, I think in round seven.

31:14 But I think Lemon assuming the A.J.

31:15 Brown trade happens, I love him.

31:17 I just happen to really love him.

31:19 Dave has him as his number one wide receiver.

31:20 I agree.

31:21 Uh well, you know, pre-draft pre-draft, I mean.

31:24 Um I just love what he can do.

31:26 I'm excited for him.

31:26 So this this was a pick that uh maybe I'll hit a home run with it.

31:30 I went with Lemon there.

31:31 Jamie, your thoughts on Lemon and Addison in round seven.

31:34 I think given your roster build,

31:36 it's perfect because you have your alpha obviously in Ja'Marr Chase.

31:40 You waited on quarterback and tight end,

31:42 so these were kind of luxury picks for you.

31:44 And then I think just doing the you know, the I don't want to say smart thing,

31:48 but to me I I think it was a great pick in taking Chris Godwin.

31:51 I was actually hoping Godwin would fall one more spot.

31:53 Um so you know, you have now five really good receivers in my mind,

31:57 you know, so Chase and then two you know,

31:59 what I would say number two receivers in Evans

32:00 and and Moore and now Lemon's in the flex, you know, range for you.

32:05 Um and now Godwin also, you know, sort of gives you that luxury as well.

32:08 So I think your running back and wide receiver group is really strong.

32:11 Um Addison is is also, you know, I I think a good spot for him,

32:15 you know, just looking at hopefully Tyler Shough supporting two wide receivers.

32:19 We didn't have to we didn't see him do that last year because they

32:21 traded Rashid Shaheed almost at the time that Shough took over the starting job.

32:25 And the rest of receiving core there was obviously pretty, you know, barren,

32:28 but um I I think we saw with Juwan Johnson

32:31 if you want to sort of make that you know,

32:33 sort of correlation of can he support two targets?

32:35 He did that at a at a decent level.

32:37 So um I think this is the right range for both those guys.

32:41 I I think it's the right range for Lemon.

32:42 I I did and I I don't I think I the one thing I

32:47 disagree with what Jamie said is it was the right pick for your team.

32:51 Cuz I know that you're kind of you're like really emphasizing

32:53 this greater late thing that you're trying to steal from Jamie.

32:56 But I don't think I like taking Mike Evans over Colston Loveland,

33:02 taking DJ Moore over Tyler Warren,

33:05 and then taking Rakim Lemon over Harold Fannin, LaPorta, and Pitts.

33:09 It feels like like this draft tried to gift

33:12 you one of the tier two tight ends like later

33:15 than they normally get picked and you just kept

33:17 refusing so that you could draft hopefully wide receiver twos,

33:21 but probably wide receiver threes.

33:24 Yeah, well, I got a couple of exciting young tight ends late.

33:27 I got George Kittle and Travis Kelce.

33:32 [laughter] Yeah, I I I think I I would like your team a lot better if

33:35 just one of those times when you took

33:37 those wide receivers in rounds four through seven,

33:39 you would have taken one of the tight ends that you could be excited about.

33:43 Fair enough.

33:44 Don't listen to Adam.

33:45 The I like what you did and even though they're old and you know,

33:49 combined they might have like one good leg between them.

33:53 I there you will be able to cobble together something solid given

34:00 the tight ends that you have and that you took them with late picks.

34:02 I don't have one problem with it whatsoever.

34:04 I and I don't I think I think you did take Lemon a little too soon,

34:08 but I don't know if he would have made it back to you.

34:11 Kelce was actually uh he I think he was the top five tight end.

34:16 I'm almost positive.

34:17 He was.

34:18 With with with Mahomes.

34:20 And some of that was without Rashee Rice,

34:23 but but some of it was with Rashee Rice.

34:26 So it didn't really affect him.

34:28 Um so It's one of the biggest deals of the draft in my opinion.

34:32 Really?

34:33 What round?

34:34 12, last second to last pick.

34:36 I actually really liked your Tony Pollard pick.

34:37 So I thought those those were two really I

34:39 I wasn't trying to be all negative about it,

34:41 I just Look, I think it's a great question

34:44 because basically I I didn't take those tight ends.

34:47 Now Loveland obviously I I was drafting starters at that point,

34:50 but Fannin I I'm drafting bench players.

34:53 I'm drafting a bench player before I take Harold Fannin.

34:55 So well, I guess Lemon could have been a flex, but I'm I'm drafting depth.

34:59 So it's it's a good point.

35:00 It's a good question.

35:01 How do you want to do it?

35:02 I will say in a two receiver league I would have taken one of those tight ends.

35:05 Three receiver league, I wait a little bit longer.

35:07 And we're going to take a break and go through the rest of the rookies.

35:10 After those picks, Addison Lemon and Addison in round seven.

35:15 I don't think we had another rookie until round 10.

35:19 And you know, and we're talking about backup running backs and things like that.

35:22 We'll be right back on Fantasy Football Today.

35:51 CBS Sports HQ, streaming free 24/7.

35:58 One of my favorite things is we have the a chat on YouTube and some of us

36:02 have sort of admin abilities where we're we

36:05 can put a star next to our favorite comments.

36:07 Uh-huh.

36:08 One of those people is Heath.

36:09 Only one comment has been starred.

36:11 It's from SodaPop and he said Heath killed this draft in my opinion.

36:15 So yeah, good job.

36:16 And he also I just want to I want to make sure everybody saw that one.

36:19 Uh Jamie, who who of our chat was in the draft with us?

36:23 Uh Johnny Airport and Gamer Eric and then uh Bradley Bradley Cornett who I

36:30 don't think is necessarily I might be mistaken cuz who knows what name he uses,

36:33 but he's not an active as far as I know member of the YouTube chat,

36:37 but he uh was one of the winners of the leftover leagues.

36:41 Oh, okay.

36:42 Cool.

36:42 It's good to have um good to have those guys.

36:44 Those three have been, you know, I I appreciate it.

36:46 They've been participating in a lot of our mock drafts this off season.

36:49 Jamie, is it fair to say that if you become a regular in our chat,

36:52 you'll have a better chance to participate in one of our mocks down the line?

36:55 Uh yeah.

36:56 Yeah.

36:57 Um you know, certainly the uh I I haven't spoken to Adam

37:01 about this, but I think the the two losers of our contest, right?

37:04 We had a um draft contest, we had a March Madness contest.

37:08 I'll let them be in the leftover leagues that we do in in August.

37:11 So if we have those names.

37:12 Runner-up?

37:13 The runner-ups, yeah.

37:14 Okay.

37:15 Cuz there are a lot of losers in the draft contest.

37:17 Yeah, I I should have [laughter] I should have verified.

37:20 Oh, Bradley says he's here.

37:21 So if you want to highlight his name, too.

37:23 Oh, Brad.

37:24 All right.

37:25 Brad Cornett, thank you for drafting pick 12th in this draft.

37:27 Took James Cook and Drake London at the turn.

37:30 All right, back to the rookies here.

37:32 So yeah, Mike I'm thinking I'm pretty much done with this conversation,

37:35 but you can give a final thought.

37:37 Mike Washington, everything is round 10 or later.

37:39 Mike Washington, Jordan Coleman.

37:41 Washington's on the Raiders, Coleman the new Broncos running back.

37:44 He went in the 11th round.

37:46 Uh where did Dobbins go?

37:49 I know Harvey went in the sixth or seventh round for Harvey.

37:53 Anyone see Dobbins?

37:55 Yeah, there he is.

37:56 Uh ninth round for J.K.

37:58 Dobbins, almost 10th.

38:00 And then Jordan Coleman in the 11th round.

38:03 Uh Casey Concepcion 11th round, Brennan Thompson, Omar Cooper Jr.

38:06 Dave, those three wide receivers all went in round 11.

38:09 Antonio Williams in round 12.

38:10 Denzel Boston round 12.

38:12 So it any any good values here, bad values?

38:16 I think Concepcion is a good value.

38:17 It's why I took him.

38:19 I think he's especially in full PPR,

38:20 I think he's got a shot to lead the Browns in targets,

38:25 catches, yards, touchdowns.

38:26 He's a really good route runner.

38:28 He's got great speed.

38:30 And this is a Browns team that's probably going

38:31 to be trailing or competitive in a lot of games.

38:33 I know they added Denzel Boston.

38:34 He'll get his targets and then Harold Fannin will get his, too.

38:38 I will all three of them kind of cannibalize each other?

38:41 Maybe to a degree, but I just think the way that Concepcion

38:44 can be used in this offense where he can catch screens,

38:48 he can catch slants, all those short throws,

38:50 and then also still work deep just like Denzel Boston.

38:54 To me, I think Fannin and Concepcion will

38:56 compete to be the target leaders in Cleveland.

38:58 And I know the quarterbacks aren't great,

39:00 but if you're asking Shedeur Sanders or Deshaun

39:02 Watson to complete a bunch of short throws,

39:05 yeah, give it to the guys that can make plays after the catch.

39:07 That's basically Fannin and Concepcion.

39:10 Getting them in round 11,

39:11 that's real cheap with a lot of upside to get a lot of catches.

39:16 We also think the the running backs that were taken later

39:19 were interesting just because there's so much handcuff potential for these guys.

39:23 There's no starting spots for these guys, but handcuff potentials, you know,

39:26 so and then you know, could we see Jordan Coleman carve out a role in Denver?

39:31 Yeah, I think you referenced on Monday's show uh the Athletic report about maybe

39:34 him taking some goal line work and then we know Dobbins with his injury history,

39:37 you know, so that could be something to keep an eye on there.

39:40 Uh Keaton Allen in in Washington, you know, in that sort of you know,

39:45 vague backfield that we're looking at now with, you know,

39:47 Roschon Johnson who draft capital surprisingly favors Allen as bad as that is.

39:52 Um, you know, Rashad White being more of a pass-catching back,

39:54 Jerome Ford, you know, Jeremy McNichols, just a lot of you know,

39:57 potential for him to maybe come in if he has a good camp and steal the job.

40:00 Not that that's going to lead to maybe a a ton of touches,

40:02 but at least an opportunity.

40:04 So, there are some some of these guys that were, you know, late-round flyers.

40:07 I think Emmet Johnson probably ends up as the handcuff for Ken Walker.

40:11 Um, I would I would probably lean toward him over uh,

40:14 Rashad Smith at this point.

40:15 Yeah.

40:15 And then, um, you know, Mike Washington,

40:19 you're waiting on an injury, but if that injury occurs,

40:21 you know, that could be a great situation for him in in Las Vegas.

40:24 Sure.

40:26 And that's it for the draft.

40:28 Uh, well, at least for the rookies.

40:29 Let's go to some other questions about some veterans.

40:32 Talked about Josh Jacobs, talked about Achane.

40:34 So, I've got the What's that?

40:37 Oh, you talked about Achane?

40:38 You missed A little bit.

40:39 We can get back into it.

40:42 [laughter]

40:42 All right, we got the reachometer.

40:44 I'm going to give you five wide receivers

40:46 who went late round one into round two.

40:50 Let me scroll up here on our draft board.

40:53 All right, you tell me on the reachometer, how big of a reach was it?

40:57 Zero to 10.

40:58 Zero not a reach at all.

41:00 10 is huge reach, stupid pick, you suck.

41:03 Justin Jefferson 11th overall.

41:06 Not a reach.

41:08 Two.

41:13 Four.

41:15 [laughter] Wow.

41:16 Wow, I was thinking six, seven.

41:18 Where's he going with this?

41:18 He went with I I was actually I I I thought six at one point.

41:21 So, you were reading my mind, but I'm going to go with four.

41:23 I mean, we heard you going Yeah.

41:26 I thought there was there was a snake in Heath's house.

41:30 [laughter] There's a snake in Heath's house.

41:31 All right, Justin Jefferson is anywhere from a zero

41:33 to a four on the reachometer at 11th overall.

41:35 Drake London 13th overall.

41:38 Zero.

41:38 Not a reach.

41:38 Negative one.

41:40 Rashee Rice 15th overall.

41:43 Not a reach.

41:43 Negative one.

41:45 Malik Nabers 16th overall.

41:47 Seven.

41:49 I was going to say two or three, but six.

41:55 [laughter] Heath was going to say two or three.

41:58 Yeah.

41:59 Uh, Jamie thinks because of the injury, I assume.

42:01 Malik Nabers seven is a big reach.

42:03 It's a reach at at 16th overall.

42:05 Nico Collins 17th overall.

42:09 Three.

42:10 One.

42:12 Okay.

42:12 Two.

42:14 Uh, next question.

42:16 Better value assuming a trade to the Patriots.

42:19 A.J.

42:19 Brown 25th overall or DeVonta Smith 38th overall?

42:25 Brown.

42:26 Smith.

42:28 I'll go Smith.

42:30 Okay, Smith team.

42:32 Dave, you want to start?

42:32 Let's expand on this.

42:33 Better value A.J.

42:34 Brown 25th or DeVonta Smith 38th overall?

42:37 Dave and Heath said DeVonta Smith, Jamie said Brown.

42:40 Let's talk about it, Dave.

42:41 Smith has a glowing track record of fantasy production

42:46 when one of Brown or Goedert are off the field.

42:49 If we're taking Brown off the field

42:51 and replacing him primarily with Quez Watkins

42:54 and maybe a little bit of Hollywood Brown

42:56 and Dontayvion Wicks while Dallas Goedert's still there,

42:58 I like his chances to average north of 15

43:00 PPR points per game with some smash weeks.

43:04 Heath Cummings.

43:05 I don't really have I mean,

43:06 I think these guys are both being taken right about where they should be.

43:09 So, I I said Smith cuz he went later.

43:13 I agree with that.

43:13 I think that's is the right spots for both of these guys.

43:15 I just think Dave, the second part of what Dave said, Smith without A.J.

43:20 Brown and nothing else.

43:21 If you said that they did not draft Quez Watkins at 20th overall,

43:24 that they did not draft Quez Watkins, that they did not sign Marquise Brown,

43:28 that they did not trade for Dontayvion Wicks,

43:30 there's a lot of mouths to feed here, you know, so Yeah.

43:32 Um, they're not going to be used in the same way, though.

43:34 A.J.

43:35 Yeah, but there there's just more opportunities for other guys to take the A.J.

43:39 Brown targets, not necessarily them going to DeVonta Smith.

43:43 Whereas, when Brown was absent or Goedert was absent and there were,

43:47 you know, nothing of significance behind those guys, it was all DeVonta Smith.

43:50 So, I think there's plenty of reason to be

43:52 optimistic for Smith and I think he said it best,

43:54 this is the range for him to go.

43:56 Uh, but A.J.

43:57 Brown now stepping into what could be this amazing opportunity

44:02 where it's Romeo Doubs and Mack Hollins and, you know,

44:06 guys that have not been very productive,

44:08 where there hasn't been a DeVonta Smith that or, you know,

44:10 you can maybe make the you can sort of equate,

44:14 you know, Dallas Goedert and Hunter Henry.

44:15 I think that's a fair comp.

44:17 Uh, but yes, and like this could be the the situation we were seeing from A.J.

44:22 Brown when he first got to Philadelphia and just getting spoon-fed targets.

44:25 I I will say that I I said earlier I think A.J.

44:27 Brown's going to be in a less concentrated

44:29 targets tree than than what he was in Philadelphia.

44:32 I think DeVonta Smith is also.

44:34 Like I think this off this offense will probably spread the ball

44:37 around a little more than the Eagles have in the past.

44:39 If they don't, and that was more of a Jalen Hurts thing,

44:42 then we're too low on DeVonta Smith.

44:43 He he he could be a right in that A.J.

44:45 Brown range.

44:46 And we're too low on Quez Watkins then.

44:48 Mhm.

44:49 Maybe, but yeah, or yeah, or Dallas Goedert.

44:52 I I don't know what Goedert brings to the table at this point.

44:54 He had a good year last year, but so much of it was touchdowns,

44:57 but this is I like to double-check this cuz it was kind

45:00 of it was kind of difficult to go through all the game logs,

45:03 but from what I've from what I gathered, DeVonta Smith in the last four years

45:09 has played exactly 17 games without Dallas Goedert,

45:15 or maybe with Goedert and also including games with Goedert

45:17 but left really early with an injury, but with A.J.

45:20 Brown.

45:21 So, this is just removing Goedert.

45:23 This is not even removing A.J.

45:24 Brown who has had an a huge target share.

45:27 And in those 17 games,

45:29 DeVonta Smith has averaged 17.1 PPR fantasy points per game, which is awesome.

45:36 That's, you know, last year that would have been wide receiver six.

45:39 The year before that it would have been wide receiver 12.

45:42 But that's 17 games with Brown and without Goedert.

45:45 Now, three games with Goedert and without Brown,

45:49 there's only been three of those, I believe.

45:51 Uh, he had 10, 10, and nine targets in those games.

45:54 That's without A.J.

45:55 Brown.

45:56 And he scored 20.6, 14.9, and 14.4 PPR fantasy points in those three games.

46:03 It It Those numbers, if they're right,

46:06 and if they're wrong, they're probably just a little wrong.

46:08 Um, then he's an amazing pick uh, in round five.

46:13 Or is it four?

46:14 Was it round four?

46:15 He's an amazing He's an amazing pick in round three.

46:17 Yeah.

46:18 Uh, so Amazing's doing a lot of work there.

46:22 17 points per game in round three?

46:24 Yeah, but that's the ceiling.

46:25 He could very easily have around 14, which is good for round three.

46:29 Listen, I I think he's a I think he's safe.

46:33 I think he's got a solid floor.

46:35 I It's weird to say,

46:37 could he break out in his age 27 season when we all know who he is?

46:40 I think it's possible he could have his best year ever.

46:42 And that's what makes him appealing as a late

46:45 round three into round four type of selection.

46:49 Okay.

46:49 Um, next up, which position is stronger in round

46:53 four of the draft that we just did?

46:55 Running back or wide receiver?

46:57 There were only three running backs taken,

46:58 but they were Kyren Williams, Breece Hall, and Javonte Williams.

47:02 Couple of Williams and Breece Hall.

47:03 Kyren, Breece Hall, Javonte.

47:06 Those are your running backs.

47:06 Here are your wide receivers.

47:07 DeVonta Smith, Ladd McConkey, Jameson Williams, Jaylen Waddle,

47:13 Garrett Wilson, Davante Adams, Mike Evans, and Luther Burden.

47:18 DeVonta Smith, Ladd McConkey, Jameson Williams, Jaylen Waddle,

47:21 Garrett Wilson, Davante Adams, Mike Evans, and Luther Burden.

47:25 Is that stronger than Kyren Williams, Breece Hall, and Javonte Williams?

47:28 Heath, what do you say?

47:29 Well, there's more wide receivers.

47:31 So, I think that helps their case.

47:33 Um, no, I I think it's such a mixed like for me, at least.

47:38 There There's a pretty decent-sized gap

47:40 between Kyren Williams and Javonte Williams.

47:43 There's a pretty big size gap between Davonta Smith and Davante Adams.

47:48 So, I I think it's like some of these guys just

47:51 went in a in a different order than I would like,

47:53 but I think if I had to choose my favorite top two,

47:56 it'd probably be the two running backs in Kyren Williams and Breece Hall.

48:00 Okay, interesting.

48:02 And uh, Jamie, your thoughts.

48:05 Kyren Williams, Breece Hall, Javonte Williams,

48:07 or this big group of wide receivers?

48:08 What do you think is stronger in round four?

48:10 Yeah, I I definitely agree with Heath.

48:11 I think it's the the running backs.

48:12 I think the only receivers who actually

48:13 belong in round four would be DeVonta Smith, Garrett Wilson, and Luther Burden.

48:21 I think the other receivers are round five picks.

48:23 I think you can make a case Kyren Williams is a round three pick.

48:26 Uh, Breece Hall and Javonte Williams are probably closer to round five,

48:30 but I'm fine with them in round four.

48:32 Uh, the rest of the receivers, I just didn't love the value

48:34 for for those guys across the board or collectively, I guess, in round four.

48:39 That That's some some some real shade at him.

48:42 What do you mean?

48:43 You took Mike Evans right before he took Luther Burden.

48:47 [snorts] No, I was like that that moment in the draft,

48:48 I was thinking about just absolutely I mean, who knows if we're right or not,

48:53 but crushing you about how excited Jamie was that you took Mike Evans

48:58 and he got to take Luther Burden and Cole Kmet and Laviska Shenault.

49:00 Well, like it it it it put me in such a tough spot because like I I mean,

49:04 to me, Laviska was a steal there.

49:05 And Burden, I mean, both of them were steals.

49:07 I'm like, I I really have to take both Bears here?

49:10 Like, you know, I I I didn't want to do that.

49:12 And I'm like trying to talk myself out of it.

49:14 I'm like, you know, eff it.

49:15 I'm just going to take the two best players on the board and, you know, right,

49:18 number three tight end and, you know,

49:19 top 20 wide receiver that just kind of fell in my lap here.

49:23 Um, so I yeah, I was I was thrilled

49:25 with it and I was a little surprised as well.

49:28 Yeah, I yeah.

49:30 I don't know.

49:30 Mike Evans being the number one receiver for the 49ers is pretty appealing.

49:33 But I I guess I disagree a little bit, Jamie,

49:35 with what you said about these wide receivers don't belong in round four.

49:39 So, which ones were you referring to?

49:40 Waddle?

49:41 no, it's not that they don't belong in round four.

49:43 Obviously, we have to fill spots.

49:44 That's what my point Yeah.

49:47 I I like like to me Jameson Williams is not a round four pick.

49:51 Jaylen Waddle is not a round four pick.

49:52 Garrett Wilson is a round four pick.

49:53 Adams is a late round four pick.

49:55 Evans is a round five pick and Burden is a round four pick, you know,

49:58 so if you want to just you know, move guys around,

50:01 I don't think Colston Loveland is a round five pick.

50:03 I think he's a round four pick, you know,

50:05 the the quarterbacks are obviously going to go in that range.

50:07 I think Scat went way late.

50:08 I think Judkins went later than he probably is going to end up going.

50:11 I think Price should be around higher than he is also, you know,

50:13 so you just want to keep going down the the sliding scale.

50:16 Um, you know, it's again my draft board

50:19 is not going to reflect what what everybody does,

50:21 so uh I think they're they're solid picks,

50:23 you know, I mean they're they're all good players, you know,

50:25 I mean we we've had the Jaylen Waddle discussion when when the move happened.

50:28 Dave's higher on him than I am.

50:30 Garrett Wilson's, you know, got a lot of competition for targets at this point,

50:33 you know, so his value took a little bit of a hit in the draft.

50:37 As Heath sort of alluded to with with Adams and and Evans,

50:40 you know, these are older receivers that are you know,

50:42 coming off I I I would say somewhat difficult seasons, you know,

50:46 Adams was so touchdown dependent and Evans missed more time again, you know,

50:49 and and is a year older, so it's a matter of what you're looking for, you know,

50:53 you just said the the idea of getting

50:55 the 49ers number one receiver is intriguing,

50:57 no matter how old he is and and what Evans' resume is is clearly impressive.

51:01 Burden has three games of of quality production,

51:04 you know, that's hard to sort of you know,

51:06 weigh those two against each other and say one is

51:08 is significantly better than the other uh without leaning Evans' direction,

51:12 but I I I think, you know, again, our our job and and what we do is

51:15 to sort of who is going to be better this year.

51:18 For me, it's Burden.

51:19 For you, it's Evans.

51:19 That's fine.

51:20 Well, for now.

51:22 You know.

51:23 It's Look, it wasn't an easy decision.

51:25 Obviously, there's there's appeal of getting a there's

51:27 the appeal of getting into that Bears passing game.

51:29 Just Dan, when we had Dan on last time, he made a good point.

51:33 He said Burden, Loveland, and Doomsday,

51:35 they're going to go in the in the the same range,

51:37 you know, Doomsday will probably be the last one taken and he was.

51:40 And this is a team that really wants to run the ball, a run-heavy team.

51:43 Should we be taking two or three

51:45 Bears pass-catchers in the fourth or fifth round?

51:49 I think it's it's an interesting question.

51:51 Um, all right, let's go to round five,

51:53 the valueometer, a newometer for us today.

51:57 The valueometer, this one's pretty self-explanatory,

51:59 zero to 10 for the running backs taken in round five.

52:03 Trayvion Henderson.

52:06 So, is five perfect value and zero's bad value or is it zero to 10?

52:10 We're still zero to 10.

52:11 I said the running So, 10 is perfect value, zero is WTF are you thinking?

52:16 Yeah, yeah, yeah.

52:17 Five.

52:19 Seven.

52:21 One.

52:20 Woah.

52:21 Ha, one, five, seven for the valueometer on Trayvion Henderson.

52:25 Hm.

52:25 So, you're saying Jamie that he went way too soon.

52:29 I like Scat better.

52:30 I like Judkins better.

52:30 I like Swift better.

52:31 I like Touten better.

52:32 I like Montgomery better.

52:33 I like Price better.

52:34 I like Pollard better.

52:35 I like Hubbard better.

52:36 I think I just would have moved like three of the running backs that went

52:39 behind Trayvion Henderson into round four for some

52:42 of the wide receivers that were taken.

52:43 Yeah, fair.

52:44 So, I can This is about where I'd take Henderson.

52:46 There's just But there were better running back values.

52:48 I agree with that.

52:50 See, we should clip that from Jamie and next time be like,

52:53 "Jamie, how do you feel about Adam Azar?" I like Scat better.

52:56 I like Price better.

52:57 I like Judkins better.

53:01 [laughter] Um, valueometer for Cam Scat boo.

53:04 Nine.

53:05 11.

53:06 Okay, nine, 10, 11 for Scat boo in round that guy anyway?

53:10 Great job, Dave.

53:11 Quentin Johnston, 12.

53:13 The I like if I could redo Dave's draft and just like same players move around,

53:17 it would be probably Brown one, Achane two,

53:20 Abuka three, Scat boo four, Waddle five.

53:23 Like I just Yeah.

53:25 keep sliding them up and down.

53:26 It's interesting.

53:28 Uh okay, and uh Was it Oh, where are we here?

53:32 Dave's drafts.

53:32 I think the players are great.

53:33 I just Judkins.

53:34 Yeah.

53:35 I said 12.

53:36 Judkins in five is that's good value.

53:39 Uh Let's call it six.

53:40 boo 10.

53:41 Uh Judkins nine.

53:43 Okay, Heath took Judkins.

53:44 De'Andre Swift.

53:46 Eight.

53:47 Five.

53:49 Eight.

53:50 It's good value.

53:51 Okay, De'Andre Swift in his He should be a round four guy.

53:55 His last nine games, that was when Mon guy started getting going.

53:59 Uh Swift was on pace for 232 carries and 30 catches.

54:04 Mon guy was on pace for 191 carries and 17 catches.

54:09 And so, can you deal with, you know, 260 touches at that point in the draft?

54:15 I think you can.

54:15 I think it's good.

54:16 Can you deal with that?

54:17 You deal with that.

54:18 Bejael Touten, last pick of round five, valueometer.

54:22 Five.

54:22 Six.

54:24 Four.

54:25 Okay, it's a fun one, you know, could go a lot of different directions.

54:29 And here's my last little segment here.

54:31 It's better value with a question mark.

54:34 I'll give you multiple players on the same team and you

54:36 tell me which player had better value in this draft.

54:39 Patriots running backs, Trayvion Henderson at 5.5 or Rhamondre Stevenson 7.8.

54:44 That's by the way, what you're hearing

54:46 from me is not my score on the valueometer.

54:48 It's where they were drafted.

54:49 Fifth pick of round five or seventh pick of round eight.

54:51 Trayvion or Rhamondre, who had better value, Dave?

54:54 Rhamondre was the seventh pick of round eight or the eighth pick of round seven.

54:58 Damn it.

54:59 Eighth pick of round seven.

55:02 I'll take Trayvion.

55:04 Jamie?

55:04 I'll go Rhamondre.

55:05 I'll go Rhamondre as well.

55:06 All right.

55:07 Uh Jaylen Warren in round six, Rico Dowdle in round eight.

55:13 I'll go Rico.

55:13 This is a full PPR league?

55:15 Yeah.

55:16 I don't like either one, but I'd lean Jaylen Warren.

55:19 Rico.

55:21 I I like where Warren was taken.

55:23 It's kind of similar to what Heath said about Brown and Smith.

55:25 I think this is probably appropriate for both of them,

55:27 but I think just the value and the uncertainty

55:29 of what it could be, I'll take Rico.

55:32 Chuba Hubbard, last pick of round six or Jonathan Brooks round 13.

55:37 Brooks because it's round 13.

55:40 I'll take Hubbard.

55:42 And you did take Hubbard.

55:43 I did.

55:43 Marvin Harrison

55:44 Hubbard, too, if if Brooks is going to be like round nine, 10 turn.

55:50 Got you.

55:51 Marvin Harrison Jr., first pick of round seven,

55:53 Michael Wilson, first pick of round eight.

55:58 Marv.

55:59 Harrison.

56:00 Marvin.

56:01 Oh, Jamie should have said Jr.

56:04 Mike Evans, 11th pick of round four or Ricky Pearsall round eight.

56:10 Rizzy.

56:11 Pearsall.

56:12 Evans.

56:14 I don't really like either one of those values, though.

56:16 Yeah, I'm okay with Pearsall more so than Evans

56:20 and you could friendship strategy the hell out of that one.

56:23 If you if you really like Evans, you can always double back for Pearsall and get

56:27 them both on Where did Antoine Shribling go?

56:30 He didn't get picked.

56:31 Hm.

56:32 He did not get picked.

56:33 Him off the waiver wire is probably the best value.

56:35 Yeah, it might end up working out that way.

56:38 He's an interesting player, for sure.

56:41 Or Kirk, yes, very true.

56:43 Yeah.

56:44 My goodness.

56:45 Uh our fantasy drafters did a better job than John Lynch in my I I I M H O.

56:52 You know, you say that, though, but Shribling may be great.

56:56 You know, I would I would agree with you, but I think I think we're a year away.

57:02 Yeah, Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis wrote an article about it.

57:06 He broke it down.

57:07 He gave the the results.

57:09 This was not an opinion.

57:10 John Lynch has done an absolutely horrible

57:13 job drafting on day two and day three.

57:15 I mean, awful.

57:17 And you can see all of the results there and just look,

57:20 I mean, there's been almost nobody good.

57:23 Deebo Samuel was a was a good pick.

57:25 He's had some pretty big misses on day one.

57:28 I don't even know.

57:29 I mean, he hasn't had a lot of high picks.

57:31 I know they had the defensive lineman last year.

57:33 Well, Trey Lance.

57:34 Yeah, that's a that's a pretty big whiff.

57:37 And as of right now, Pearsall looks like a miss in round one, right?

57:40 Right.

57:41 Yeah.

57:41 No question.

57:43 So, they have that Brock Purdy pick to hang their hats on, right?

57:45 Right.

57:46 And think about how great of a coach Kyle

57:48 Shanahan is cuz he's getting supplemented with almost no talent.

57:51 I think Deomodore Lenoir was a great pick, obviously,

57:54 but Well, you say you say supplemented with no talent.

57:56 They made a trade for Christian McCaffrey.

57:57 They made a trade for Trent Williams.

57:59 I mean, like you know, Joey Bosa very little talent.

58:04 All right, um Okay, what else?

58:07 Uh we did Hubbard, Harrison.

58:09 Okay, here we go.

58:10 Uh Christian Watson, 10th pick of round six or Matthew Golden

58:14 in round 10 and Xavier Williams is also drafted here,

58:17 but I know we're not going to say him.

58:18 That was Jayden Reed, back-to-back picks.

58:21 Um I'll go Watson.

58:24 Okay, so who's the best value?

58:26 Watson.

58:26 Watson.

58:27 Okay, Watson, 10th pick of round six.

58:29 De'Andre Swift, 11th pick of round five or Kyle Mon guy, end of round eight.

58:35 So, Swift at the end of round five or Mon guy end of round eight?

58:37 Swift.

58:39 Swift.

58:39 I think it's Swift, yeah.

58:41 Scat boo, middle of round five, Tyron Tracy, first pick of round 13.

58:47 Scat boo.

58:48 Scat boo.

58:49 Cam.

58:50 And Dave and I could trade handcuffs.

58:51 He took uh Brooks, I took Tracy.

58:54 Sounds fun.

58:56 Kyren Williams or Now I'm prone Tracy.

58:58 Kyren Williams or Blake Corum.

59:00 Uh Kyren Williams in round four, Blake Corum in round nine.

59:04 Kyren.

59:05 I'll go Kyren.

59:07 Ryan Thomas Jr.

59:08 in round seven, Jakobi Meyers in round eight,

59:11 or Parker Washington in round nine.

59:15 Jakobi for me.

59:17 I'll take I'll take Washington.

59:20 Good job.

59:22 Fun draft.

59:23 We are outie.

59:25 Travis Etienne is not drafted, right?

59:27 Who?

59:28 Travis No, it's not an ADP league, Jamie.

59:33 [laughter] Uh thanks for watching everybody.
