9:03 Some were good, some were great, some were terrible,

9:06 but that's the way life goes, right?

9:08 And you notice the roses.

9:10 This is a rose garden.

9:11 And we added a lot of roses.

9:13 I will tell you this was this was a rose garden that didn't have too many roses.

9:18 And if you look now, we uh we cornered the market on roses and you deserve them.

9:24 So, thank you for being with us in this beautiful spring,

9:29 this gorgeous spring day at the very famous rose garden.

9:32 It's been famous for a long time.

9:34 They they let it get a little bit out of control,

9:37 but now it's brought back to the highest level.

9:40 And you know where you're standing uh or sitting

9:43 right now is white stone and that was grass.

9:47 And the problem with it is you couldn't walk on it because

9:49 this was built on a wetland and the grass was always soaking wet.

9:52 It didn't matter.

9:53 It was always soaking wet.

9:55 Absolutely.

9:56 And so uh when Brooke Rollins would get up and start making

10:00 a magnificent speech and she'd be standing in mud and she'd say,

10:05 "I ruined my shoes." her speeches would never be as good as they

10:08 could have been because she was always concerned about ruining her shoes.

10:11 But people would come here,

10:12 women would come with the high heels and it wasn't a pretty picture.

10:16 So after about 150 years, we gave up in the grass.

10:21 So we said, "Let's build it so we can use it." And now we have lunches here,

10:25 we have dinners here, and it's nice and it's cool.

10:27 The white reflects the sun,

10:29 so you don't uh although it does go in my eye right now, I noticed.

10:33 I didn't I didn't anticipate that, but uh it's it's a great place.

10:38 It's a great place.

10:39 And we do news conferences.

10:40 We do everything.

10:41 And right up here, you probably noticed the new black granite.

10:46 And it's uh it's been so wellreceived,

10:49 people can't even believe it because the stones

10:51 were all broken and really in bad disrepair.

10:54 And it's be it's really become great.

10:56 And we uh added the pictures of the presidents

11:00 from George Washington to a guy named Trump.

11:03 And uh people really they've loved it.

11:06 We call it the presidential wall of fame or walk of fame.

11:09 We say you could call it either.

11:29 It's amazing the weekend we celebrate Mother's

11:33 Day honoring the women who raised us

11:36 and all of the wonderful mothers in our lives for millions of American families.

11:41 Sunday will be filled with love and gratitude and joy.

11:45 I had a great mother by the way.

11:47 And today we're honored to be joined by many strong and truly heroic moms who

11:52 have stood up for their children both in life and in a very profound loss.

11:58 Very, very terrible in many just terrible loss.

12:02 Many cases and we have a lot of the greatest people on earth.

12:05 Angel moms, they're with us today.

12:08 They're great people.

12:09 They've been through so much.

12:10 And I got to know so many of you

12:14 during my first during my first days of running.

12:19 I got to know you and I got to love you.

12:22 But uh we want to thank you for being here.

12:24 Mother's Day.

12:25 It's uh one of the great days.

12:27 I always think so fondly of my mother.

12:29 I had a wonderful mother.

12:31 Among those with us this afternoon are a number of the angel moms who saw

12:36 their precious children stolen from them

12:38 by the open border policies of the radical left.

12:42 Open borders.

12:43 I call them stupid borders.

12:44 Not open.

12:45 I call them stupid borders by stupid people that put them there

12:49 and the migrant criminals that let they let them pour into our country.

12:54 And bad things happened.

12:56 Bad things happened.

12:58 25 million people came into our country.

13:01 Many of them were criminals.

13:03 Many of them were murderers.

13:04 They allowed them in with their open border policy of stupidity.

13:07 These incredibly brave and resilient women

13:10 have turned terrible tragedy into unyielding resolve,

13:14 becoming advocates so that their mothers do not have

13:18 to endure the same heartache that they've felt all their lives.

13:23 They felt for so long.

13:25 They've raised the most beautiful child and it's taken

13:28 and they've spent so many years in many cases.

13:31 I see some of you for I've known you

13:34 for years and others are unfortunately new members of that club.

13:39 And I say unfortunately, it's a sad thing.

13:42 Should have never happened.

13:43 Should have never happened.

13:45 In their honor, we've rapidly turned the worst and most dangerous border

13:49 in the history of our country into the strongest border in American history.

13:53 We have no people come in during the la last 11 months.

13:56 We have zero.

13:58 Zero.

14:01 Nobody even tries to come up.

14:02 You know, you used to read about the thousands of people

14:05 that would pour in and they just come up in caravans.

14:08 I came I think it was my name I came up with.

14:10 It looked like a caravan.

14:12 25 30,000 people pouring up.

14:15 They walk through Mexico.

14:17 They come from all different locations.

14:19 Come from all over the world actually.

14:21 But they came in through our southern border

14:23 and they'd come up and just let them walk in.

14:26 They walk in.

14:27 Nobody had any idea who they were.

14:28 They were murderers.

14:30 11,888 murderers.

14:33 They were allowed to come into our country.

14:35 We've gotten a lot of them out.

14:37 Uh many of them murdered more than one person.

14:39 What a shame.

14:40 What a disgusting shame.

14:42 That people can even think that this is okay is pretty incredible.

14:46 But for the tws we've had, that's been our number.

14:50 And these numbers are done by uh people that are the numbers

14:55 when they when I say zero I mean I actually mean zero.

14:58 It's hard to believe actually but they're done by people

15:01 that are they tend to be somewhat on the left.

15:04 So they're not going to give us a fair shake and they say that you

15:09 know people don't come anymore because they

15:11 know they're not going to get through.

15:12 So when they know they're not going to get through they just don't come.

15:15 And just on that we save a lot of lives because

15:17 some of that journey up from Honduras and El Salvador and lots

15:22 of other countries or from the Congo where they drop them

15:26 there and they walk up and they come through our country.

15:29 They emptied the prisons of the Congo

15:32 into the area of the southern border and then told them to just walk in because

15:37 stupid Americans are going to accept you beautifully.

15:40 And these were hard uh mean vicious criminals they allowed into our country.

15:47 How anybody can vote for these people is hard to believe.

15:50 Okay, it's hard for belief.

15:52 But to a friend of mine, Maryanne Mendoza, Maryanne, where is Maryanne?

15:58 I got to know you right from the beginning.

16:02 And I I won't ask her that, but I I would often ask, is it easier with time?

16:15 and but a lot of people say it's not it's not easier,

16:19 but uh you're a special woman.

16:22 I've gotten to be a friend of yours, you're a special woman.

16:24 What you have to go go through is disgraceful.

16:58 and uh I don't think you've been treated properly.

17:03 It's hard to believe but the angel moms have not been treated properly.

17:07 But this president treats you properly.

17:09 I can't speak for others, but this one treats you properly.

17:13 And we love you all and uh all I can say

17:16 is uh our hearts are out to you on Mother's Day.

17:19 And you have a good Mother's Day.

17:20 Go and have a good Mother's Day.

17:22 In securing our border, we've also made tremendous strides in stopping

17:26 the flow of illegal drugs into our country.

17:29 The flood of deadly fentinol across our border is down by 59%.

17:36 And the drugs coming in by sea are down by 97%.

17:41 97%.

17:43 And we're trying to figure out who the 3%

17:46 are because they are the bravest people on earth.

17:49 You see how we stop them by sea.

17:51 You know, for years they'd go and catch the boat,

17:54 bring them to court, they'd go in, they'd go out.

17:56 by the time the evening they'd be back in another boat bringing drugs in.

18:00 So we gave them warning and we don't do that anymore.

18:03 We do it much more much more efficiently.

18:07 But uh think of that down by by sea.

18:10 A lot of them came in about 50%.

18:13 It's down 97 now.

18:14 We've started a very strong the sea was

18:17 more difficult and now we've started land and it's

18:20 you'll see it coming down to it's come down a lot but you'll see it coming down.

18:24 They come through Mexico for the most part.

18:27 We have a a problem because the cartels rule Mexico and nobody else.

18:32 The cartel, they just rule it.

18:35 And you know, we lose 200,000 people a year

18:38 through this poison that pours into our country.

18:43 So, we have the sea done, meaning the ocean, waterways,

18:48 pretty much done 97% and we're going to have the land done very soon.

18:52 I want to thank the brave moms

18:54 fighting the epidemic of drug addiction here addiction

18:58 and uh this afternoon including Anne Funder and you're

19:03 here someplace and funer does a great job.

19:36 Last summer, it was my great honor to sign the Halt Fentinol Act into law,

19:42 and we're never give up on that mission for ending the drug epidemic in America.

19:49 We've come a long way,

19:49 though we've we've stopped massive amounts of drugs from coming in.

19:54 This afternoon, we're also joined by some

19:56 of the most extraordinary mothers our nation has ever produced.

19:59 Our cherished gold star moms.

20:01 These are gold star moms.

20:04 These mothers raised up children so selfless

20:06 and so devoted that they volunteered to wear

20:09 the uniform of our nation and laid down their lives for all of us.

20:14 One of those mothers is Janice Chance.

20:17 Janice, where is Janice?

20:19 [applause] Thank you.

20:21 Thank you, Janice.

20:22 Hi.

20:22 You look great.

20:23 That's a beautiful hat.

20:26 Thank you, Janice.

20:27 Who lost her son, Marine Captain Jesse Melton.

20:32 And I heard he was an outstanding.

20:35 They they give me lists and they tell me about people, you know.

20:38 They said that Jesse was outstanding.

20:41 Janice, they have the word outstanding.

20:44 Thank you for being here.

20:45 Just before he went to Afghanistan in 2008, Jesse told his mother, "Mom,

20:52 I want to go change the world and make it an even better place.

20:56 I want to make it a better place,

20:58 Mom." Just before his 30th birthday, even though he had the day off,

21:02 Jesse volunteered to take the place of a fellow Marine and that of his brother

21:08 in arms could be president for the birth of a daughter.

21:12 That day, Jesse gave his life for our country.

21:16 Jesse was struck down that day by helping somebody else.

21:20 And Janice, I want to say America is a strong

21:24 and free nation today because of people like your great son.

21:27 And we want to thank you for being here.

21:29 Thank you very much.

21:32 I also want to express my love for the moms with us whose

21:36 extraordinary heroes gave their lives

21:38 in the terrorist attack at Abigate in Afghanistan.

21:42 I got to know you very well, very well.

21:46 And these are phenomenal people.

21:49 We went to uh a club I own in Bedminster, New Jersey, which is beautiful.

21:54 They played music.

21:55 They said, "You actually think he's coming out?" They said,

21:58 "Yes." said I was going to do just to stop

22:00 by and say hello and we ended up listening

22:03 to music for four hours on that beautiful that beautiful

22:06 night uh looking at the sky thinking about those wonderful

22:11 people Abby Gate very well known should have never happened

22:15 that should have never happened that was incompetence by the Biden

22:18 administration so to Alice Lopez you know that right

22:23 yeah we know that to Alicia Lopez and Paula House,

22:28 self, Coral Presc, and to all of the Abigate moms.

22:34 We're thinking of you in this Mother's Day.

22:37 And uh again, we had you to the White House.

22:40 We had you to I was over at a very beautiful cemetery,

22:45 as beautiful as they can be.

22:47 But you know, it was sad occasion.

22:49 We went over and we paid our respects, but we lost great people that day.

22:56 We shouldn't have lost any people that day.

22:59 Gross incompetence.

23:01 This Mother's Day, we're thinking of all

23:03 of those incredible moms and we're doing everything in our power to support them

23:08 and millions of other mothers all across America.

23:11 And we're blessed to have many wonderful mothers serving in this administration,

23:16 including Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins, who's doing a phenomenal job.

23:22 Thank you very much.

23:24 and the first woman ever to serve as a White House chief of staff.

23:29 She's become a legend.

23:30 Susie Wilds.

23:36 She's amazing.

23:37 To help American families and mothers, we passed a great big beautiful bill,

23:41 the largest tax cuts in American history.

23:44 We expanded the child tax credit to $2,200 from a much lower number

23:51 per child and delivered the largest

23:53 expansion of school choice in American history.

23:56 We have school choice all over now.

23:58 We didn't have we had virtually none.

24:00 Everybody loves school choice with accounts.

24:03 We have a very special thing, the Trump accounts,

24:06 where we're helping families to set aside

24:08 tax advantage savings for their children's future.

24:12 And we are giving every American newborn child $1,000 automatically

24:17 to invest and to grow over the course of their lives.

24:22 And I want to thank the Dell family.

24:24 It's a great family.

24:26 He is uh amazing.

24:28 She is amazing.

24:29 They they've done such a job such a job on that.

24:34 They put up a lot of money, too.

24:35 Put up 6 billion250 million.

24:38 That's somebody.

24:39 and he started making computers on his bed in college

24:42 and selling them because they were better than other computers.

24:45 And he just I said, "How did you do that?" He said,

24:47 "Well, I did it and I just never stopped." He just kept going.

24:51 So, go out and buy a Dell.

24:53 They're great.

24:54 We're also working to make it easier than ever before

24:57 to start a family by lowering the price of IVF,

25:01 cutting regulatory battles and barriers and fighting to bring

25:06 down the cost of living so that more Americans

25:08 can pursue the dream of and it's the dream

25:12 of living just a good life, maybe a great life.

25:16 Uh we cut drug prices now with the favored nations, most favored nations.

25:21 We cut them by 70 80 90%.

25:25 You could say 500%, 600 depending on the way you phrase the statement.

25:30 But we now play.

25:32 So we when I was here, this was a big ambition right at the beginning.

25:37 I was able to cut him a little bit, but I didn't cut him.

25:40 I cut him more than anybody else, which was a little bit because for 28 years,

25:44 drug prices and prescription drugs only went in one direction.

25:48 And when I came back, we now did something that everybody said was impossible.

25:54 Favored nations.

25:55 We had the highest drug prices in the world by far.

26:00 Now we have the lowest drug prices in the world.

26:04 Can you imagine?

26:05 So we cut them by 50 60 70%.

26:10 And uh go out and you'll see.

26:13 Exactly.

26:13 It's one of the big I think it's one of the best biggest things that we've done.

26:17 uh drugs that were costing in London $10 for a pill

26:22 would cost $130 for a pill in the United States.

26:27 And now if it's $10 or if it's $20, that's what we pay.

26:31 We pay the lowest price anywhere in the world.

26:33 So it's great.

26:34 And the the fake news doesn't want to write about it,

26:37 but that's why I talk about it because we have no choice.

26:40 We have to.

26:41 So I just want to again I want to thank everybody for being here.

26:45 It's uh so important.

26:47 We do things like we keep men out of women's sports, a very popular issue.

26:55 We stopped transgender mutilization of your children for everyone.

27:01 We don't have that.

27:02 But I want to thank every single mother here this afternoon

27:05 and all across our nation for your work every single day.

27:10 America's moms are raising really raising the future of our country.

27:14 the most important you have the most we don't call it a job

27:17 because when you love it it's not a job but let's for this purpose

27:21 you have the most important job there is in America or any place

27:25 else and you're doing an incredible job I just want to wish you all

27:29 a very happy Mother's Day we're going to have a great Mother's Day

27:31 and for those mothers that lost their child many of whom are with us today

27:36 the angel moms and others gold star moms uh we love you especially we
