These HIDDEN AI Features in Google Apps are a MUST KNOW!

0:18 And it is one of the six Google apps that now

0:21 has AI built right into them that are actually useful to me.

0:25 And it's all free, too.

0:26 I'm going to show you the most useful AI use cases in Google search,

0:30 in Gemini, in Chrome, in YouTube, in Maps,

0:34 and in a tool that's called Notebook LM.

0:36 That is honestly the most underrated thing Google has ever made.

0:40 Let's start with the one that you probably open a 100 times a day, search.

0:46 Okay, let's start with the big one, Google search.

0:49 There are two AI features, AI overview and AI mode.

0:54 First up, AI overview.

0:55 When I search something on Google,

0:57 instead of the traditional blue links page after page,

1:00 Google now simply understands what you're asking

1:03 and surfaces the summary right at the top.

1:06 Those are the AI generated summaries.

1:09 The best part is Google upgraded their AI model to do this summarization

1:13 recently to Gemini 3 and the overview answers are so much better,

1:18 precise, and genuinely valuable.

1:21 for quick how-to questions.

1:23 This alone saves me from opening like a bunch of tabs.

1:27 And if you have a follow-up question,

1:28 you don't have to run to a brand new search.

1:31 There is an ask anything box right below the overview.

1:34 Type your question in there and it drops you straight into AI mode.

1:38 AI mode is where it gets really interesting.

1:41 It's basically a full AI chat experience built right inside search.

1:45 Kind of like chat GPT or claude,

1:47 but it keeps pulling live information from the web.

1:50 Think of it like a customized AI for Google search.

1:53 So, it knows your context, the Google search data,

1:56 and is a lot more search focused.

1:59 There are three ways to get into AI mode.

2:01 One, through the ask anything box under any AI overview like I just showed you.

2:06 And two, from the Google homepage, there is an AI mode tab on the right side.

2:12 And three, after any regular search,

2:15 it's in the top menu right next to the images and videos option.

2:20 Okay, let me show you a real one that I ran recently.

2:23 I asked AI mode, are there any good

2:25 lease deals on the Cadillac Wistic right now,

2:28 and it gave me actual current numbers with a map to Cadillac dealer near me,

2:33 plus a few Reddit threads where people

2:35 were talking about the real deals they got.

2:38 Claude or Chad GPT can also search the web too,

2:41 but that's not where it goes primarily to answer you.

2:44 Ask AI will first choose realtime web data over its own data.

2:51 Okay, this is the one that I teased in the beginning.

2:53 Google Maps now has a feature called Ask Maps

2:56 and it completely changes how you use your app.

2:59 In Google Maps, there is a new tab under the search section called Ask Maps.

3:05 Click on it and you open an AI chatbot.

3:07 I'll type something like, "Find a cozy date night restaurant,

3:11 preferably with a good view, also that serves vegetarian food near me,

3:16 that's open until 11:00 p.m." It understood all the conditions at once.

3:21 Before this, I would have to search, then filter by ours,

3:25 then filter by features, then check reviews manually.

3:28 I really like how it delivers the answers.

3:30 name of the restaurant and then with pictures and a direct

3:34 button for directions or to save it for later.

3:37 There's a description.

3:38 It also describes the atmosphere, a little about the views and what

3:43 vegetarian food is available in this restaurant.

3:45 It also shows how long it'll take me to reach there.

3:48 There's also an overview map in the bottom

3:50 that will show all the three places on the map

3:53 to see where each one is situated and of course

3:56 how long it'll take for me to reach there.

3:58 And where this gets really good is trip planning.

4:01 Plan a trip to Honolulu for 4 days in May,

4:05 places to visit, and vegetarian restaurants for breakfast,

4:08 lunch, and dinner with timings.

4:12 And it built me an actual itinerary with drive times.

4:16 I genuinely use this every time I'm out somewhere trying to find food,

4:20 and it's hands down my favorite thing Google has shipped in years.

6:37 There are actually three AI features here

6:39 and I use all three for different reasons.

6:42 The first one is help me write.

6:45 I'm not good at writing professional, error-free, properly toned emails.

6:50 So, I let AI help me out.

6:52 When I compose a new email, I tap on the little pencil icon with a star.

6:56 That's the help me write feature.

6:58 I just ramble on about everything that I want to say.

7:01 Then, I specify my needs and it drafts the whole thing.

7:05 It saves me a bunch of time on emails that I was dreading to write.

7:10 And the second one is suggested reply.

7:13 At the bottom of any email, Gmail gives you a quick reply option.

7:17 It thinks that you might want to send for a fast yes,

7:20 thanks, got it kind of reply.

7:23 It's great.

7:23 I use it way more than I thought I would.

7:27 And third, this one is probably my favorite.

7:30 Summaries.

7:31 When you open a long email thread,

7:33 there is now a little summary option at the top.

7:36 It gives you a two or threeline summary of the whole conversation.

7:40 For any thread that's gone back and forth 10 times, this is a lifesaver.

7:45 I can catch up in 5 seconds instead of reading every reply.

7:51 Okay, next up, if you use Chrome,

7:53 this one is kind of sneaky because you might not even realize it's been there.

7:58 Chrome now has a Gemini built directly into the browser.

8:02 There is an ask Gemini button in the top

8:04 right corner and it can see whatever page you're on.

8:07 So if I'm reading a really long article like a 20 minute read article,

8:11 I can just tap Ask Gemini and ask it to summarize

8:14 this for me in five bullet points and it's done.

8:21 Or I can ask a specific question about what I'm reading,

8:24 like, does this author actually back up their main claim with data.

8:31 Where this gets even more useful is when you're shopping.

8:34 I'll have two product pages open in separate tabs and ask Gemini,

8:38 compare these two and tell me which one is better for travel vlogging.

8:42 And it reads both pages and gives me an actual breakdown.

8:46 Before this, I would have to copy paste everything

8:48 into chat GPT or claude and then ask questions.

8:52 Now it's right there in the browser.

8:58 Okay, this one is not pre-installed in anything,

9:00 but it's a completely free Google tool

9:03 and I feel like nobody's talking about it enough.

9:06 It's called Notebook LM.

9:07 I made a whole video about it.

9:12 But in summary, think of Chat GPT or Gemini as the AI

9:16 that answers from its own knowledge and maybe the internet.

9:20 But notebook LM will answer from your sources.

9:23 You upload your sources could be PDFs, YouTube videos,

9:27 books, websites, Google docs, even your own notes.

9:31 And then Notebook LM becomes an expert on just that specific content.

9:35 And then you can ask it questions and it'll

9:38 only answer based on what you gave it with citations.

9:42 So it's not going to make up stuff.

9:44 I use this for research constantly.

9:46 Recently I was making a video on AI models and I

9:49 dropped in like eight different research papers and blog posts.

9:53 Then I could just ask what are all the benchmarks they agreed

9:56 on and it pulled answers from across every source with links back.

10:01 And the feature that genuinely blew my mind

10:03 the first time I tried it, audio overview.

10:06 It takes all your sources and turns them into a podcast with two

10:11 AI hosts who actually discuss the content and it sounds so real.

10:15 Right.

10:16 But over the last 12 months leading up to today,

10:19 uh, April 22, 2026, there's been this staggering migration.

10:24 Yeah.

10:24 A massive shift.

10:25 Exactly.

10:26 Catch BT's web traffic share.

10:27 I listened to one of my own research folder

10:30 as a podcast on a walk and I was like,

10:33 wait, this is actually a good way to learn.

10:41 And this one is kind of funny for me

10:43 to include because I'm a YouTuber, but here we are.

10:46 YouTube has a feature called ask.

10:48 It's on the video player itself and it

10:51 lets you ask questions about the video you're watching.

10:54 So, let's say I'm watching a long tutorial,

10:56 like a 20inut setup guide, and I just need one specific thing.

11:00 I can just tap on ask and type,

11:03 "What camera settings does she recommend for low light?" And it

11:06 pulls the answer from the actual video with a timestamp.

11:10 So, I can jump right to that moment.

11:12 As a viewer, when I'm trying to fix something on my Mac at 11 p.m.

11:16 and I just need one answer, this one saves so much time.

11:20 It's rolling out gradually.

11:22 You might not see it in every video yet, but it's coming.

11:25 So, that's six Google apps with AI already built in.
