Sweden VLOG (My FIRST SOLO travel!): Exploring Stockholm, Cafés, Old Town, Running, & Cinnamon Rolls
Taylor Bell
0:03 [Music] Okay.
0:24 At JFK, just ran into the nicest subscriber.
0:28 This is Valentina.
0:29 59, by the way, and I watch her stuff.
0:32 So, a
0:33 lot of fun.
0:33 Thank you.
0:34 Good for you.
0:35 Awesome channel.
0:36 And you're so cool, too.
0:36 I could go on and on about all the things you told me about yourself.
0:39 We have a lot in common.
0:40 We've been to a lot of plus same places.
0:41 Exactly.
0:42 We're both going to Stockholm right now.
0:43 Yeah, we're both going to Stockholm.
0:44 I ran into here in the airport.
0:48 Yay.
0:48 Also, I brought this leather jacket just to look a little more chic in Europe.
0:53 I think I might just start wearing it in New York.
0:54 Like, why not?
0:55 I love it.
0:56 It's actually my dad's old leather jacket, believe it or not.
1:02 [Music] We landed in Stockholm.
1:08 But I thought you should know I saw
1:09 a little piece of luggage fall off the conveyor belt.
1:12 I put it back on.
1:13 Good Samaritan deed of the day.
1:16 [Music] Everything is so clean.
1:22 Cool.
1:22 It's like an art installation.
1:24 I haven't been here for a few years,
1:26 but I remember that all the installations have a rocky
1:29 texture and like there's a bunch of art installations and stuff.
1:32 It's really cool.
1:33 A lot cleaner than New York subway, let me tell you.
1:38 Okay.
1:38 Probably a little overly enthralled with the clean public transportation,
1:41 but the New York City subway is your reference point.
1:43 It's kind of hard not to be [Music] okay.
1:54 So, I've been walking for a bit.
1:56 I can't check into my Airbnb for like many more hours.
1:59 It's pretty early in the morning and so I'm just getting my steps in.
2:02 I packed pretty light.
2:03 Very light, actually.
2:04 Pretty proud of myself.
2:05 And I'm going to find the first coffee shop that I think looks especially good.
2:10 Like, not a chain ideally, not a tourist trap.
2:13 We don't do that here.
2:14 Uh-uh.
2:14 We find authentic spots.
2:16 So, that's what I'm in search of.
2:17 Anyways, I'm walking towards Damlan, which is Oldtown Stockholm,
2:21 and that is where I'm staying as well.
2:23 And it's going to be awesome.
2:24 Super cute already.
2:25 Take a look.
2:30 I don't know what this is.
2:32 Half expecting to see Greta out here.
2:34 Maybe.
2:36 No, probably not.
2:41 Cute.
2:41 Okay.
2:41 So, like I said, I'm looking for Wow, this is so pretty.
2:45 I love yellow houses.
2:47 So, like I said, I am looking
2:49 for and I'm carrying this because one gains two cobblestones,
2:54 but I'm looking for a more non-ouristy coffee shop.
2:59 And in my pursuit so far, I only see touristy ones.
3:03 You know how I know?
3:04 Because it couldn't be more obvious.
3:05 You know, we have stuff like this.
3:07 And I want to be off the beaten path.
3:10 [Music] We laid under the willow tree.
3:27 The last weekend of summer.
3:33 So pretty.
3:33 Okay, so it's probably still touristy, but you can't beat this view.
3:38 This is the Nobel Prize Museum right here.
3:42 Got my coffee.
3:44 Feeling good.
3:48 Grind never stops, baby.
3:52 Do just a little bit of work.
3:54 Just a little bit.
3:55 See, cuz I don't have out of office days, okay?
3:58 I grant myself those and I hereby do not grant myself one right now.
4:06 [Music] Name a more Swedishl lookinging scene.
4:12 I'll wait.
4:13 You can't.
4:14 Okay, I know I talked about waiting to get out of the touristy
4:17 area and here I am in front of the Nobel Prize Museum still,
4:22 but I was freaking hungry.
4:23 And you know what?
4:24 This is good.
4:25 I mean, it can't not be good.
4:29 M.
4:29 We got the linganberry.
4:31 We got the mashed potatoes.
4:32 We got the meatballs.
4:34 We got the pickled cucumber.
4:37 We got the scenery.
4:38 Boom.
4:41 [Music] Okay, got food in my belly.
4:45 We're good on that front.
4:46 Still have a few more hours to kill before checking into the Airbnb.
4:50 And let me tell you, I'm tired.
4:52 It finally hit me.
4:53 Did I even tell you guys that I uh got not even a lick of sleep on the flight?
4:57 Cuz it's a weird flight.
4:58 took off at like 6:30 p.m.
5:00 Eastern time.
5:01 I didn't get sleepy cuz it wasn't my body clock time
5:03 to get sleepy until like an hour before landing and then,
5:06 you know, they start a little bit of food, so you just don't sleep.
5:09 And then a little bit of adrenaline from getting
5:10 off the plane and getting into the city.
5:12 But now it's hitting me and it's only 12:30 p.m.
5:16 Let me know what you guys do in cases like this if you take a red eye.
5:19 My plan is to push through until the end of the night,
5:21 just like pass out at 9:00 p.m.
5:23 or something like that.
5:24 Anyway, it's really beautiful.
5:25 I just have that like delirious jet laggy sleepiness, but that's okay.
5:30 [Music] We are arriving at my Airbnb, which is not ready yet for check-in,
5:39 but I think I can leave my bag in the courtyard.
5:42 I just want to be able to drop this thing so I
5:44 can freaking walk around cuz that I can do even though I'm tired.
5:46 Okay, let's see.
5:47 Please make sure the door closes after you in this weather.
5:51 The door is hard to close.
5:52 Oh my god, in this weather.
5:54 That was probably from the winter.
5:57 Bags dropped in this cute little courtyard area.
6:03 If that's not the coolest thing you've ever seen, I don't know what is.
6:09 Wow, I feel perfect.
6:11 Literally 2 minutes after I took that video of me being all tired.
6:14 I'm feeling good.
6:15 I dropped my bag, so I'm light as a feather.
6:18 Anyway, let's explore.
6:22 Oh my god, it's so perfect.
6:26 Truly is unbeatable.
6:28 Places in Northern Europe that I've been during the summer.
6:31 Unbeatable.
6:32 Oh, when you get a perfect day like
6:34 this and everyone's outside and they just appreciate
6:36 the good weather so much cuz they do not have it for most of the year.
6:40 Chef's kiss.
6:41 Just walking along the water and truth be told,
6:44 I'm scoping out my running route for later.
6:46 You know what?
6:47 I'm a little worried about the cobblestones.
6:50 I mean, am I going to run a New York
6:52 City marathon without getting used to a little cobblestone action?
6:55 No.
6:56 But, uh, you know, something to consider.
6:59 Sorry.
7:00 That's the royal palace.
7:03 That's the armory.
7:06 Pretty cool.
7:11 [Music] Look what I have stumbled upon.
7:20 It never looks as pretty on camera.
7:23 I know we got to walk down that.
7:27 Okay, so for the longest time just now have been walking pretty aimlessly,
7:32 but I looked on my map and I've gotten quite close
7:35 to a really popular cafe that I saved on my map.
7:38 I don't know when.
7:39 So, we're going to go there, get like a cup of tea.
7:41 I'm done with caffeine.
7:42 There's like an herbal tea.
7:44 All right, this is it.
7:45 There's a lot of people out compared to other places around here.
7:48 It's so funny the way that this is on the corner and has like the big windows.
7:52 There's like sort of an equivalent in Santa Monica that this reminds me of.
7:56 Primo Pasta, if you guys know it.
7:57 Anyways, let's go in.
8:10 And I'm tired again.
8:12 But we got some tea.
8:13 We got a nice setting.
8:15 And I walked a long ways to get here.
8:17 So, keeping the body moving.
8:18 It's when I stop that I get tired.
8:21 Still perfect day.
8:27 All right.
8:28 Struggling to stay awake.
8:29 I have like an uh technically an hour before check-in,
8:33 but I think if I go back now, I'll be good.
8:35 Anyways, this is pretty cool.
8:36 I just walked this whole street that I just
8:38 walked along is pretty much all dedicated to pottery,
8:41 glassear, stuff that people make with their hands in a really cool way.
8:45 And then also photography and art.
8:47 I just an artistic street, I guess.
8:49 It's cool to like look in and see people being creative.
8:52 Oh, I really like this.
8:53 It's like impressionist art.
8:55 [Music] pool view.
8:59 Every corner is so pretty.
9:01 Stunning.
9:04 [Music] We're in probably the tiniest Airbnb I've ever stayed
9:12 in, but it's really cute and the space is used very efficiently.
9:17 I'll give you a tour soon,
9:18 but I need to I know I said I was going to power through.
9:21 I'm just a zombie and it's it's only 2:20 p.m.
9:24 So, I'm going to lay down for a little bit.
9:26 just a little.
9:27 I can do it.
9:29 Here's the bathroom.
9:30 Um, and we'll check back in soon.
9:32 Okay, guys.
9:32 I'm back out.
9:33 I napped for like 1 hour and 48 minutes on the longer side,
9:37 but I feel so out of it that I
9:39 do not doubt my ability to fall back asleep later.
9:41 And I'll give you an Airbnb tour.
9:43 I'm actually very impressed by the space layout and how they've used it.
9:48 It's kind of like a masterass in tiny spaces.
9:50 Look at all these bikers.
9:52 So anyways, just going to walk along the water for a while,
9:55 find some food when I get hungry,
9:56 and try and bail out for a few more hours before heading back in.
10:02 What a healthy society.
10:07 That is so cool just how many people bike home from work.
10:10 You see everyone commuting back and they're dressed so nicely, too.
10:14 Everyone just looks pretty elegant.
10:20 feel like you're supposed to be part of everyday society.
10:26 [Music] [Music] All right, guys.
10:34 A little delirious.
10:36 So, forgive me for not being eloquent or articulate right now,
10:40 but what I'm inspired by all of that going on.
10:43 Healthy healthy people.
10:44 People who are walking as fast as I do, that never happens.
10:48 Anyways, I do in fact need to go on a run today for marathon training.
10:52 Nothing crazy, an easy 5k, but like truly I just like a jog pace.
10:56 But what a fun way to see the city, you know?
10:58 So, now that I have my blood moving a little bit, back at my Airbnb,
11:01 going to put on my running clothes and get right
11:03 back out there and then find some dinner after that.
11:05 How about that?
11:07 [Music] All right, let's be quick cuz the second I lose steam, that's not good.
11:17 [Music] Okay, I'm debating putting on workout top, but honestly,
11:25 I'm trying to get fewer things dirty, so I might just go out in this.
11:29 And this is what most of the giries outside were just wearing on their run.
11:32 So, I'm going to do the same.
11:34 Can't stop me.
11:36 Can't stop me.
11:37 Let's do it.
11:38 Well, that's neat.
11:43 How cool was that?
11:45 Feeling good.
11:46 Stunning golden light.
11:48 Oh, and a lot of people sitting out.
11:51 Big old boats.
11:52 Oh, going to need to get better at filming while running.
11:57 This is replicating the Queensboro Bridge in New York.
12:00 How about that?
12:00 Okay, quick tiny walk break because Oh my god, it's completely idyllic.
12:04 It's crazy.
12:06 I think there's no place I'd rather be running right now.
12:09 [Music] This run more pleasant.
12:13 It is so crazy.
12:15 I know it's shaky as hell footage, but have to go do that loop.
12:18 Here's where I am in the rock.
12:21 Oh my god.
12:22 Are you kidding me?
12:24 So, all right.
12:26 I mean, at some point,
12:27 I'm just going to have to stop taking views cuz it's like, okay, Shrek.
12:32 Are we in Shrek?
12:34 Cool.
12:35 Some old looking boats.
12:37 Things are going good.
12:38 We are nice and steady.
12:41 So cool.
12:42 So cool.
12:43 ever happened.
12:44 So, I guess now might not be the time to talk,
12:47 but this is my first marathon training run as I mentioned.
12:50 Obviously, I just have to increase my mileage from here
12:53 and that I'm not sure how it's going to go.
12:55 A little nervous.
12:59 All right, back out for dinner.
13:00 Just getting some more steps in.
13:02 It's funny.
13:03 I'm looking for authentic Swedish food,
13:05 but pretty much all of them on this particular row are Italian.
13:08 I can get Italian in New York.
13:10 I can probably get Swedish in New York, too.
13:11 But you know what I mean.
13:12 [Music] So lively for a Tuesday night.
13:22 Everyone's out and about having dinner out on the street.
13:25 It's so so nice.
13:25 I'm honestly not that hungry and I'm trying
13:27 to eat well just with my training and stuff.
13:30 So I might go to the little local market
13:33 and pick up kind of like all a cart food thing.
13:35 It's kind of boring.
13:36 I'll find a table outside to eat.
13:37 So I was taking part in the vibes.
13:39 Well, let's run out.
13:40 All right, guys.
13:41 This is a problem cuz I'm in their little grocery
13:44 store and I'm trying to hit my protein goals, right?
13:46 So, I got a bunch of, you know, some skur, which is their Greek yogurt,
13:50 and some like salami, you know, but then they freaking have this.
13:54 And these are my favorite thing of all time.
13:57 And so is Maribou, that yellow chocolate right there.
13:59 So, I got a mix of protein and sweets.
14:02 Okay, guys.
14:03 I'm sitting outside of a restaurant, so I feel like I'm part of the action.
14:08 But every place that I looked at was either Italian
14:10 or it just wasn't it didn't have my name on it.
14:13 So, you know what I like doing?
14:14 Like I already said, I I like going to little local markets and getting
14:17 it all a cart items that speak to me.
14:20 And I'm also just not that hungry.
14:22 So, anyways, I wanted to hit the protein goals,
14:23 like I said, and get some yummy stuff.
14:25 So, I'll show you my haul.
14:26 We got raspberries.
14:27 Already ate most of them.
14:28 Drink 30 g of protein.
14:31 We got other yogurts, both 15 g.
14:34 And then the yummy stuff.
14:35 This is my favorite Swedish chocolate.
14:37 Maribou with dime mixed in there, which is like kind of toffee chewy chocolate.
14:43 Chewy.
14:43 And then I got just straight maribou milk chocolate,
14:45 which is these are like the coins.
14:47 They're addictive.
14:48 I also got some salami.
14:50 Yum.
14:51 Okay.
14:51 Favorite thing of all time, ghee flour.
14:53 These little things are my absolute favorite.
14:58 They're little cinnamon buns.
14:59 They hit the perfect point of not too sweet and not too anything.
15:02 They're just right.
15:03 And you just can keep eating them.
15:05 They sell them at IKEA as well in the US
15:07 and around around the world if you want to try them.
15:10 But I got them freshly baked here in Sweden.
15:14 Going to eat some raspberries now.
15:17 [Music] Okay, let's go back to the hotel room.
15:27 You want to see what I was leaning you up against just now?
15:30 My little protein drink.
15:32 Pretty yummy.
15:33 I thoroughly enjoyed my allocart experience while sitting with these diners.
15:37 I think we should normalize just eating a bunch of random things as long
15:41 as it tastes good to you and you need you meet your nutrition goals.
15:45 Am I right?
15:46 [Music] Actually pretty cozy.
15:55 My living room, my fan.
15:58 Pretty cozy.
15:59 I like it.
15:59 The solo travel is going well.
16:02 It is 10:08, so I made it until now.
16:05 Honestly, I was kind of planning on just making it to like 9:00,
16:08 but I took a long much needed shower.
16:11 Now, the day tomorrow awaits us, and we're going to be well rested.
16:15 Oh, we have some fun things tomorrow.
16:16 I haven't told you guys.
16:17 This is just a personal fun trip,
16:18 but I am doing a little bit of business while I'm here because why not?
16:22 So, anyways, until tomorrow.
16:24 Turtle out.
16:26 Oh my god, I actually know the Swedish word for turtle.
16:28 Twa pada out.
16:34 Good morning.
16:35 How's it going?
16:36 I am here in Southern Mom, which is I'm trying to find a Weirdly I get weird
16:43 about filming when it's like quiet and there's no one around,
16:45 but then there's one person around.
16:46 Anyways, another beautiful sunny day as you can see.
16:49 Just in a long sleeve, which will do me well today.
16:51 I'm here at the Epidemic Sounds headquarters.
16:56 Sounds like a New York meeting with the marketing team,
16:58 which I'm super super excited about.
16:59 I've been using Epidemic Sound for years.
17:01 Link in description for a free trial.
17:03 Not sponsored.
17:04 I just love Epidemic Sound.
17:05 And then we'll get the day going.
17:06 I will admit.
17:07 So, it's like 10:00 a.m.
17:08 right now, or 11:00 a.m.
17:09 rather, which is when I would fully be still asleep in New York.
17:13 So, it's like these morning hours that obviously
17:15 the jet lag hits pretty hard, but we'll wake up.
17:18 Okay, let's get to it.
17:26 [Music] All right, guys.
17:28 I'm here with the Epidemic Sound Team.
17:31 We were at a very authentic sweet, what's this place called again?
17:35 I just wanted to get the proper pronunciation.
17:37 The creator partnership folks were the best.
17:40 They gave me a tour of the headquarters.
17:41 We grabbed a long lunch and just talked about all things music,
17:44 creators, and the future of the space.
17:46 Such a highlight of this trip.
17:50 [Music] Okay, just uh finished with the Epidemic Sound Team.
17:55 They were so so nice.
17:57 just like wow.
17:58 Great conversation, fun people, had a lot of laughs.
18:01 It was a really good time.
18:02 Getting dinner with a friend later tonight,
18:03 but otherwise have kind of the rest of my day free.
18:06 Going to go to a coffee shop that was very highly recommended to me.
18:08 So, now it's 1:35.
18:10 I'd still be asleep in New York.
18:12 6 hours behind, so I'm still a bit sleepy, but we're pulling through.
18:21 [Music] Hello.
18:27 Doing some more walking around after finishing my coffee.
18:31 Bit tired, but we have some more fun
18:33 things to do today and you're coming with me.
18:35 Also, I'm just so impressed and happy with the amount
18:38 of cafes on every single street per square mile, let's say.
18:42 There's a lot of them.
18:43 And there's just a really nice cinnamon smell emanating out of every single one.
18:48 So, pretty epic.
18:50 Wow.
18:50 Ah, I came up here cuz I figured it would be a good lookout point.
18:54 I was right.
18:55 It literally is a lookout point.
18:56 Look at those people looking out.
18:58 I feel like these pointy spires.
19:01 Oh my god, they're everywhere.
19:02 Ah, there's so many.
19:03 I feel like that's so iconic Stockholm.
19:05 And when I imagine this scene, like in photos and such,
19:09 I imagine a whole bunch of snow.
19:10 There's obviously no snow right now, which I'm happy about.
19:13 This is like my favorite type of thing to do in a city,
19:15 which is having, you know, some set cafes and restaurants and such that I want
19:19 to go to, but otherwise just like walking a lot,
19:22 going down these random meandering side streets,
19:25 as long as it's safe, obviously.
19:26 Let me check my stats for yesterday.
19:28 Hey Siri, how many steps did I walk yesterday?
19:31 20,260 steps.
19:33 That's a lot of steps.
19:34 Let's freaking go.
19:35 Best way to explore a city in my opinion.
19:37 Walk, walk, walk.
19:39 Boom.
19:40 Like, where does that go to?
19:42 I don't know.
19:43 Let's find out.
19:48 Okay, this is so cool where I've just stumbled upon.
19:52 Look, it's so old and charming.
19:55 And look at this.
19:56 Not to peep on people, but what a freaking cool office.
19:59 Epic.
20:00 Epic.
20:05 Neat.
20:16 It has started to rain.
20:18 It wasn't supposed to until later.
20:19 Still a nice temperature.
20:20 I feel cozy.
20:21 It's going to get a little wet.
20:22 That's okay.
20:23 It smells good.
20:24 I love the smell of the atmosphere when it starts to rain.
20:27 Okay, beast.
20:29 Okay, it's raining kind of hard now,
20:30 so I'm waiting for a little bit under this tree.
20:33 Surprisingly good cover.
20:35 I'm not getting any drops.
20:38 Kind of peaceful.
20:41 [Music] I'm going to go that way.
20:52 [Music] Guys, I just got asked for directions and I knew the answer.
20:59 They asked which way Oldtown was, Gamlasan, which is where I'm staying.
21:02 And I knew to say it's over there cuz that's where I'm headed.
21:07 But I had a little moment of pride.
21:08 I was like, "Yes, I know the answer to that.
21:16 It's so pleasant." All right, it's proper raining, but still kind of cozy.
21:22 I'm back in Gas Sun.
21:24 I'm going to Well, we'll see.
21:25 You know what?
21:26 I'm going to tell you what we're going to do.
21:27 It'll be a surprise.
21:33 All right, I've wandered into this little store of trinkets,
21:38 but like very lighting based trinkets, and I really like it.
21:42 And it's so charming.
21:49 Guys, I don't know if you know this, but I like getting funky earrings.
21:52 Like in Taiwan, I got these boba earrings.
21:55 I have these egg toast earrings.
21:56 I have tomato earrings.
21:57 I think it would be a crime against humanity if I did not buy these
22:01 cinnamon bun earrings.
22:03 Oh my god.
22:04 Yes, I got them.
22:07 How cute is that?
22:09 She said that they're handmade here in Gauntlet.
22:12 So very authentic.
22:13 Also, it's fully raining now.
22:16 [Music] Back where I was yesterday.
22:20 Nobel Prize Museum.
22:22 Remember this?
22:23 Feels like so long ago.
22:27 [Music] Oh man.
22:33 Yeah, I got in it.
22:34 That's okay.
22:35 We made it back.
22:36 I'm still going to go back out.
22:38 I just need a raincoat.
22:40 This is kind of cute, though.
22:42 Look.
22:42 So, here's my Airbnb.
22:43 And then there's this little courtyard.
22:45 I guess I showed you guys yesterday.
22:49 Oh my god.
22:49 I hope there's a drain out here.
22:53 Wow.
22:53 So guys, I was just thinking it's an absolute crime that I
22:55 actually haven't got a proper cinnamon bun here yet besides these.
23:00 But you know what?
23:01 These, you know, they're not a replacement and I'm
23:03 going to go get one when the rain lets up.
23:05 But they're so good.
23:07 M Hello.
23:08 All right, I've dried off a little bit.
23:10 So I thought I'd be a little innovative because I'm going to have to pack
23:12 my stuff tomorrow to leave and I can't have a soaking wet shirt in there.
23:16 So I turned on the towel warmer and I tried to get
23:19 as much surface area of my wet shirt on there as possible.
23:22 Pretty nifty honestly if you ask me.
23:24 So wait, let's do an Airbnb tour.
23:29 Welcome.
23:30 Let me show you around.
23:31 Okay, you enter here.
23:33 We got some rules and regulations.
23:35 We got a washer and mind you,
23:37 everything in this apartment is labeled and has instructions.
23:41 It is very well organized for how small it is.
23:43 Umbrellas, fire hydrant, coat rack, shoe horn.
23:48 They think of everything.
23:49 You enter me.
23:50 We have the bathroom.
23:53 I already showed you.
23:54 I rearranged my shirt.
23:55 It is small in here.
23:56 All right.
23:57 I'm filming on Oh, not even on wide angle,
23:58 but it's small in here, but everything you need.
24:01 You know, we got hooks everywhere, which I love.
24:04 I love when they have enough hooks.
24:05 My little toiletries.
24:07 You get the idea.
24:07 It's small.
24:08 Like, it's one of these things.
24:09 And then water, of course, comes out.
24:10 So, I use this as a little barricade.
24:12 We enter living room.
24:14 Little table here.
24:14 I kind of know a lot of space saving hacks because I was on a motor home
24:18 for 3 months or more every year growing up
24:21 and you need to really really utilize the space well.
24:24 And my New York City apartments,
24:26 while they are large by New York standards, they're not actually huge.
24:30 So, you know, you got to make use of space.
24:32 So, stuff like this where they have a smaller table but an extendable thingy.
24:36 This ladder was leaned up against there when I got it.
24:39 But the bed is actually up here and it's pretty comfy.
24:43 I'm not going to lie.
24:44 You guys saw my clip last night.
24:45 They have a lamp up here so you can
24:47 turn off all these lights before getting into bed.
24:49 Over here, just good attention to detail.
24:51 They think of everything.
24:53 Like an adapter.
24:54 How nice is that?
24:55 Cuz normally I forget mine anyways.
24:57 I did not this time, but normally I do.
24:59 Earplugs, little cups to drink from.
25:01 I wonder what's in here.
25:03 Ooh, cards.
25:05 A people leaving thank you notes.
25:07 So cute.
25:08 And then in here is a bunch of extra linens and towels.
25:13 There's a ironing board, hangers.
25:16 You get the idea.
25:17 Sorry, my stuff is not sorry.
25:19 I'm by myself.
25:20 I can do whatever I want.
25:21 I don't have an exploding suitcase when I'm with other people.
25:24 I don't like that.
25:25 It's pretty contained.
25:26 That's fine.
25:26 We got couch.
25:27 We got fan, which I just have on for white noise when I sleep.
25:30 Moving into the kitchen.
25:31 This is where I think you see cuz it's so tiny.
25:33 A lot of the space saving hacks, but you really have everything you need.
25:37 Cleaning supplies, little sink, little drying rack,
25:41 trash, dishwasher tablets, teeny tiny dishwasher.
25:45 How cute.
25:46 Pantry.
25:47 Everything's labeled.
25:47 It's so cute.
25:49 We got a little stove.
25:50 This is This is my stuff.
25:52 The cutest little baby utensils.
25:55 Well, I guess these ones are full size.
25:57 I like the little ones.
25:58 And then, you know, it's an Airbnb, so it's fully stocked,
26:01 which is awesome if you were staying here
26:03 for a while and wanted to get some good cooking done.
26:05 That's crazy.
26:06 That's more than I can freaking fit in my New York City apartment.
26:08 We got cups, glasses, coffee, tea.
26:13 Is this exciting?
26:14 I don't know.
26:14 Maybe it's not for you guys.
26:15 I just love how everything's labeled.
26:17 It's so cute.
26:18 And then, oh, soft closed cabinets.
26:21 Very good.
26:22 Fridge.
26:23 Huge by my standards.
26:25 This is way bigger than my New York fridge.
26:27 And freezer.
26:29 Oh, and then a little stepladder if you need it.
26:31 Some hooks thoughtfully placed.
26:34 That's about it.
26:35 It's actually grown on me.
26:36 When I first got here, I was like, "Oh,
26:38 I mean, it's fine." But I I actually really like it.
26:41 Feels cozy.
26:41 Like, I was happy to come home to it after getting caught in the rain.
26:45 Hope you enjoyed the tour.
26:48 [Music] All right, we are back out like an hour and a half later.
26:53 I did take a little nap.
26:54 I can't help myself.
26:55 It's like I can't keep my eyes open if I don't.
26:57 Anyways, I try to not take them for too
26:59 long to mess with the uh sleeping later on.
27:02 We'll see.
27:03 Still raining, but honestly, it's really cozy.
27:09 Yeah, it's not too cold.
27:10 That's what I care the most about.
27:13 Kind of beautiful.
27:14 I would not dare say the sun is poking out,
27:17 but there's some warm light and it's just so pretty.
27:20 Not that I'm in any place to be given solo travel tips quite yet,
27:24 but I will say that it's helpful to have gotten to know two areas pretty well.
27:29 So I've like gone between Gamblasan here where I'm staying and then you know
27:33 I did a run all around a couple of these little offshoot island things
27:37 and then I've gone into Sutter yesterday and today I feel oriented if that makes
27:41 sense in a way that makes me feel comfortable like I know where I am.
27:45 I know how to get home.
27:46 I don't need to look up Google Maps or anything.
27:47 Even when I was coming from the Epidemic Sound office
27:50 earlier I knew how to get home without checking the map.
27:52 So yeah, I guess the tip is to kind of acquaint yourself with a couple
27:54 areas extra well and then you can
27:56 just get around without feeling stressed about it.
27:59 I don't know.
27:59 That's my preliminary tip.
28:05 And on the point of solo travel,
28:07 I think now that I've done it for a couple days, I'm an expert.
28:11 No, but I guess the reason I'm doing it in the first place,
28:13 I never really explained.
28:14 Let me get this a little dry at first.
28:16 I'm on my way to Berlin after this where I am meeting somebody.
28:20 But I figured might as well stop in Stockholm
28:23 for a couple days and see how it feels.
28:25 And I think that because I've been here before,
28:27 that's part of why I chose this city cuz I've been here before.
28:30 So, I have some familiarity with it.
28:32 I know it's really safe and it's very, very walkable.
28:34 So, I sort of chose this city as my first solo travel on purpose.
28:38 And I kind of liked it.
28:40 I I don't think it's my preferred way of travel because
28:42 I do think that the best things in life are best shared.
28:46 I think most people would agree with that.
28:47 But at the same time,
28:48 I also do think and know that it's important to be able to be by yourself,
28:52 spend time with yourself for sort of extended periods, I guess.
28:56 I don't know.
28:56 At least that's a muscle that I've been wanting to flex for a while.
28:59 And this it's honestly been really really fun.
29:01 Would I want to do it for too much longer than 2 days, 3 days?
29:06 Probably not.
29:07 Probably get a little lonely.
29:08 But this trip has been pretty lovely.
29:10 And I did a little just a little bit more planning
29:14 for this trip than I normally would cuz I knew I'd be by myself.
29:17 So, I'm like, h could probably benefit from uh preparing a little extra.
29:20 That's also part of why I think I feel more comfortable.
29:23 Hey.
29:23 Oh my god.
29:24 What's up?
29:25 Did you follow me here?
29:27 Yeah.
29:27 From New York.
29:28 But I wanted to tell you something.
29:29 Okay.
29:29 What's up?
29:30 Well, that tad bit of prep that you were talking about just now.
29:33 You like booked a hotel and everything beforehand.
29:36 Yeah.
29:36 For once, I actually made a reservation like 36 hours
29:38 in advance instead of waiting until I landed in the country.
29:41 And was the hotel a good price?
29:43 I actually did Airbnb cuz by the time I looked, it was so last minute.
29:45 And the hotels were just way too expensive.
29:47 Ah, and your flight.
29:49 I actually got it for an okay price a while ago
29:51 and then a few weeks later I saw it went up
29:54 and then weirdly back down below my original price like as you
29:57 got super close to the I'm going to stop you right there.
29:59 Okay.
30:00 Why?
30:00 Have you heard of Axle?
30:02 I have not.
30:02 What's that?
30:03 It's what Big Travel doesn't want you to know about.
30:05 So, it's this tool that monitors price changes for your existing hotel
30:09 and flight reservations and it automatically rebooks
30:13 those reservations when the price goes down.
30:15 You can also book the lower prices directly by chatting with Axel on WhatsApp.
30:18 Oh yeah, you connect it to your Gmail account
30:20 and it scans your upcoming hotel and flight reservations,
30:23 monitors the prices 24/7,
30:25 and then cancels and rebooks your reservations automatically
30:28 at those lower prices without you doing anything.
30:30 Oh my god, I know.
30:32 Would have been perfect for you when you saw that price change later on.
30:34 Yeah.
30:34 Yeah.
30:35 And Axel handles all customer service interactions
30:38 and secures that price change as savings.
30:40 It's pretty awesome.
30:41 Okay, I'm sold.
30:42 Where do I sign up?
30:42 You can click the link in my description to get started for free.
30:45 We'll do.
30:45 Thanks, Taylor.
30:48 All right, let's go.
30:51 First of all, that was crazy timing that I
30:53 was filming when all those lights just turned on.
30:56 Wow.
30:57 All right, there's something we got to do before dinner.
31:00 And let me tell you guys, dinner is at a very special place.
31:03 So, my cousin was actually here recently and did some solo travel days himself.
31:07 And he told me this place is just out of this world.
31:09 It's like Nordic fine dining, but at a pretty reasonable price.
31:12 I checked the menu and I guess it's super hard to get a resz,
31:15 but randomly they had one tonight.
31:17 I got it.
31:17 And when I told the Epidemic Sound folks about this restaurant,
31:20 they're like, "Oh my god, how did you get that resz?
31:23 You have to go." So, they were hyping me up and I'm super excited.
31:26 However, before that, there's something we have
31:28 to do cuz as things are tracking right now,
31:30 we're not going to do it unless we do it right now.
31:32 What do you think it is?
31:41 We're getting closer.
31:42 Look how pretty.
31:48 Hi.
31:50 Can I please have a cinnamon?
31:52 Thank you.
31:54 Okay.
31:54 I know.
31:55 I'm about to go to dinner, but like I said, I'm leaving tomorrow morning.
31:58 So, if I don't get this now, I'm also hungry.
32:01 So, I'll still be hungry for dinner.
32:02 It's very different than my typical cinnamon roll.
32:05 I really like the big doughy American cream cheese icing cinnamon buns the most.
32:10 So, there's a time and place for this.
32:12 Time and place.
32:13 Ooh.
32:14 Smells really cinnamony with a little bit of cardamom.
32:17 That's the big thing here.
32:18 Cardamom.
32:19 I've had this before, but it's been a while.
32:21 It's still pretty yummy and doughy on the inside.
32:25 Approved.
32:27 We back.
32:28 Let's go to dinner.
32:38 Okay, just got dropped off.
32:40 Feeling chic in my leather jacket.
32:42 I got to pull it out more.
32:43 Anyways, this is the spot.
32:45 It's called Lil Ego and I'm so excited.
32:54 [Music] Okay, presentation reveal.
33:03 All right, we got shredded butter and pumpkin seeds, pork belly, melons, mint.
33:08 It looks like you want to get this one on top.
33:11 Nice with cucumber on top.
33:13 Looks like dill and something pistachios are on the end there.
33:17 And our beers.
33:18 We got pork belly.
33:19 We got zucchini.
33:20 We got jalapeno sauce, chimmy cherry,
33:22 and then some some kind of sauce down there.
33:25 Nice.
33:26 Hello.
33:27 Dinner was delicious.
33:29 I was talking so much with my friend.
33:31 We had a lot of catching up to do.
33:32 He just moved here.
33:33 So, because I was talking a lot,
33:34 I ate pretty slowly and then uh got pretty full, but it was it was so so good.
33:39 I just couldn't finish my entree.
33:40 Anyways, it's my last night.
33:42 My Airbnb is right here.
33:44 It really has been such a fun nice trip.
33:47 I've just like fallen in love with Stockholm.
33:48 Everything about it, it just feels so cozy.
33:51 Okay, I guess I'll leave you with that.
33:52 You don't need to see me pack up and go to the airport tomorrow, do you?
33:56 Turtle out to France.
34:01 To France, I feel naked.
34:06 Oh well, that's okay.
34:08 I don't actually feel naked.
34:14 [Applause] [Music]
