This Might Be the Easiest Way to Sell AI to Businesses
Chris Koerner on The Koerner Office Podcast
0:00 57% of sales goes to whoever responds first.
0:03 And that's not my opinion.
0:05 That's data.
0:05 As of right now, most small businesses are letting
0:08 calls go to voicemail and hoping people call back.
0:12 Side note, they don't.
0:13 So, today, I'm going to build an AI
0:16 agent that texts back missed calls automatically.
0:18 It has a full conversation, answers questions,
0:20 and books the appointment without your involvement.
0:23 And I'm going to show you how to sell
0:25 this to small business owners because statistically speaking,
0:27 you're probably not a business owner yourself.
0:28 So, we're going to figure out how to make money
0:30 from business owners so we can be a business owner ourselves.
0:33 And literally just yesterday, this 16-year-old girl that's in a high school
0:36 for entrepreneurs emailed me this and said, "Hey, it works.
0:39 I use ringless voicemail drops to find a plumber that wants AI
0:42 integrated into his business." And I got it on my 16th birthday.
0:45 You can do it all inside of GoHigh Level.
0:47 And then I'm going to show you something even more interesting.
0:50 You ever heard the phrase dog fooding?
0:52 aka eating your own dog food,
0:54 aka using the marketing technique that you're selling to small
0:57 business owners to find those exact same small business owners.
0:59 We're going to be dog fooding today.
1:01 I'm going to show you how to use this exact same setup in reverse
1:05 to find and close small business customers who
1:07 will pay you to run this for them.
1:09 We're going to cover the full build step by step inside GHL,
1:12 the exact prompt that makes the AI sound human over text,
1:15 and how to land clients using ringless voicemail in the same agent.
1:19 And most importantly, I'm going to share my screen, my phone.
1:22 I'm going to get a live fish on the line.
1:25 I'm going to find a customer by the end of this video, guys.
1:28 This is a $500 to $2,000 a month per client service.
1:34 So, let's build it.
1:36 So, missed call text is not anything new.
1:38 We're not inventing it today, but if business owners are using it,
1:42 and most aren't, it's just a static one single text.
1:45 Let's say you're a plumber.
1:46 you miss a call and an automated text goes
1:48 out to the person that called you that says, "Hey, sorry I missed your call.
1:51 Anything I can help you with or our operating hours are between 9:00 and 5,
1:54 yada," and then there's no interaction, there's no engagement.
1:57 That doesn't really do a lot at all.
1:59 But we're going to add AI to it.
2:00 We're going to make it seem very real so that one static text can be
2:04 converted into a two-way conversation that books appointments
2:07 and gets you or business owners more sales.
2:09 So, we're going to logo high level right here
2:11 and we're going to click on automation on the sidebar.
2:15 We're going to click this big blue button, create workflow,
2:18 select from template, and we're going to search missed call text right there.
2:23 Okay, let me explain to you what you're looking at right here.
2:26 This first step is called the trigger.
2:28 That's what starts this workflow/automation.
2:29 And in this case, the trigger is an incoming call.
2:33 And right here, it shows if the call is busy, has a voicemail,
2:37 or no one answers it, then the trigger will be activated.
2:40 And then the next step right here down the line down
2:43 the workflow is slight delay so SMS doesn't feel like a bot.
2:47 We want to give it 1 to 3 minutes
2:49 before that text goes out so it doesn't feel automated.
2:51 And then on this third step right here, we're going to assign it to a user.
2:54 So if you or the business owner you're working with has a team,
2:57 they don't want to be the one that manages this.
2:59 We can assign it to a user.
3:01 But I think in most cases, this won't even be necessary cuz most business
3:04 owners don't even have employees, believe it or not.
3:07 This next step adds a contact tag.
3:09 So, Gohigh Level also functions as a CRM customer relationship management
3:13 platform where you basically store all your leads or your contacts,
3:17 customers, data, phone numbers, addresses, etc.
3:19 So, we want to know which of those contacts in our CRM used this workflow.
3:24 It's good to know.
3:25 That way, you can sort by them, you can filter by them, etc.
3:29 So, we're going to use that to add a contact tag.
3:31 You can name this whatever you want.
3:33 I named it mist- call.
3:35 And then this step right here turns a text into a lead.
3:38 Now this is how GoH High Level categorizes the contact as a lead.
3:42 And in this same step is also where this text will finally be sent.
3:46 So it took about five steps to actually get to the point
3:49 to where we're sending the first text to the customer that called.
3:52 And then right here, let's say that the business owner or the employee wants
3:56 to take over for the AI at any given point.
3:59 We set up a push notification to the assigned
4:02 user which was assigned right here in step three.
4:06 So if they want they can take over and start texting as themsself.
4:09 And then this last step right here basically does the same
4:12 thing except through an SMS and not through a push notification.
4:16 So this has a time delay of 0.2 minutes.
4:19 That's not long enough in my opinion.
4:21 I like to do 1 to 2 minutes.
4:23 So we'll save that.
4:25 Okay.
4:25 Now very important.
4:26 This is the most important part.
4:28 Remember this step right here where you first send the text to the customer?
4:32 We're going to delete that.
4:33 Okay, we're going to replace it with AI.
4:36 So, we're going to click the plus.
4:38 We're going to click conversation AI.
4:39 We want to hit this toggle button right here, advanced bot configurations.
4:44 Let's say hypothetically we are doing this as a service.
4:47 We're getting paid to do this for a tree trimming business owner.
4:51 So, this was the generic template that GoHigh Level gave me.
4:54 But let's just say I'm going to market this to tree
4:57 trimming business owners cuz I own a tree trimming business.
4:59 So I know that industry better than most.
5:01 So I'm going to copy this prompt,
5:02 take it over to Claude or Chat GBT Grock, whatever you use.
5:05 And I'm going to say, replace this personality in the conversation AI on go
5:10 high level with an AI agent representing Fast Tree Care,
5:13 a tree trimming company in DFW
5:15 that is engineered to book appointments for quotes.
5:17 Okay.
5:18 About you.
5:18 You're a friendly assistant for Fast Tree Care.
5:21 Objectives: Find out what tree service they need.
5:23 rules, be warm and casual, talk like a real person, not a robot,
5:26 questions to ask, what's going on with your tree, yada yada yada.
5:29 So, you don't have to like upload this huge repository of FAQs,
5:32 just have AI create that knowledge base for you.
5:35 Now, I'm going to go to Claude.
5:37 I'm going to take all of this, these additional instructions,
5:40 and say, "What you gave me was great.
5:42 Go ahead and swap out this with something that matches Fast Tree
5:46 Cure." This basically just says how to handle the questions and the objectives,
5:50 how to go in order, some examples of things that you can say,
5:54 what types of phrasing to use, etc.
5:55 And then we're going to leave this last section blank right here.
5:59 So, we want the bot to wait for a reply for like 24 hours.
6:04 Okay?
6:04 And channel is going to be SMS.
6:06 We'll skip the question if already answered.
6:08 Now, what's the max number of responses that we want the bot to give?
6:12 This is like an insurance policy,
6:13 a safeguard against the bot just going crazy and not leaving the person alone.
6:17 I think five is a good safe number for this.
6:19 This is the amount of seconds that you want to wait in between each response.
6:23 I think 10 is not enough.
6:24 I'm going to say 35.
6:26 So question.
6:26 This is the simplest one there is.
6:28 I'm just going to say, "Hey, sorry we missed your call.
6:32 What's going on with this tree?" And I'm just now
6:34 seeing these top two need to be 300 words or less.
6:36 So I'm asking Claude just to trim it down for me.
6:39 And same here with this one.
6:41 trim that down to 213 words with just one prompt.
6:45 Okay, so after the conversation AI starts,
6:48 it's going to send the same push notification to the same user or business owner
6:51 in the same SMS so they can take over should they want at any point.
6:56 Also, very important, remove your quote marks from this question.
6:59 Trust me, it's embarrassing.
7:00 Hey, if you find yourself driving much
7:02 or working in the yard or doing the dishes, check out my audio podcast,
7:05 The Ker Office, cuz you'll see episodes there
7:07 that don't make it to YouTube on all podcast platforms.
7:10 Okay, now we need to add some branches.
7:12 This is basically an if this then that scenario.
7:14 And really what we want to do is log
7:16 the customer's info once we get it from them.
7:19 So we're going to click add condition.
7:21 We're going to call this booked.
7:22 And the condition is customer provided their tree
7:25 service need address and preferred day for the estimate.
7:28 Now we're going to do another one
7:30 called emergency because sometimes here in Texas there
7:32 are like ice storms and someone might
7:34 literally have a huge branch on their roof.
7:36 So we're going to call this one emergency and the condition will be
7:40 customer mentioned a tree fill on their house
7:42 yada yada and needs immediate help.
7:44 And then the third and final branch we're
7:47 going to add is called unqualified for the times
7:50 when a customer is asking about something other than
7:53 tree services or is outside of our service area.
7:56 Okay, let's go ahead and submit.
7:58 Okay, so now you will see all of these different branches.
8:01 If they time out, aka they never respond, the automation will end.
8:04 If they book a time for us to come provide a quote
8:06 or for the business owner to come do that, we want it to notify us.
8:10 So, I'm just going to take this one right here.
8:12 I'm going to copy it.
8:13 I'm going to click controlV.
8:14 I'm going to paste it and then I'm going to drag it over here.
8:18 I don't need a push notification and an SMS.
8:20 An SMS will do it.
8:22 Same thing over here.
8:23 If there's an emergency, like a tree on their house, we're going to copy it.
8:26 We're going to paste it right there.
8:27 The text is just going to say emergency.
8:29 And then I don't want to be notified.
8:31 The business owner probably doesn't.
8:33 if someone's unqualified.
8:33 So, we're just going to tag them.
8:35 We're going to copy this tag and we're going to paste it right here.
8:39 And the tag that we attach to this user is just going to be cancelled.
8:43 If I wanted to waste an extra minute,
8:45 I would just create a new tag called unqualified, but I'm too lazy.
8:48 So, cancel does it.
8:49 This is it.
8:50 This is how it works.
8:51 This is the whole thing.
8:52 Okay?
8:53 And this step right here, this is the meat of it.
8:55 This is where people are going
8:57 to have full-blown conversations with our AI agent.
8:59 And here's the secret beautiful thing of all this.
9:01 Now that you have this one workflow,
9:03 you can copy and paste it over and over and over for multiple customers.
9:07 They're not all tree trimmers.
9:08 Fine.
9:08 You just swap out the tree trimming info with the plumber info,
9:11 the HVAC info, or whatever type of business it is that they own.
9:15 Now, of course, we got to hit publish and then save.
9:18 Now, we're going to go back here to the list of workflows,
9:22 click the three dots, and click duplicate workflow.
9:25 And then we're going to call this dog fooding.
9:28 Okay, so same trigger.
9:29 we get an incoming call and I'm going
9:32 to show you how to generate those incoming calls.
9:34 We still want the same delay.
9:35 We still want to assign it to a user.
9:38 Now, keep in mind this would be me or my employee, my user,
9:41 because this is me trying to sell this service to other business owners.
9:44 And everything I just showed you,
9:45 that is something we're building for the business
9:47 owners that we're trying to sell this to.
9:49 We still want to add a tag just to stay organized.
9:52 And we don't need the emergency branch
9:54 anymore because there will be no emergencies.
9:56 So, we're going to delete that.
9:58 and we still want to book appointments with them.
10:01 So, we could talk to them as humans and try
10:04 to close them either in person or over the phone.
10:06 And there's still going to be a lot of people that are unqualified.
10:09 They're unwilling to pay or whatever.
10:10 So, we're going to leave that.
10:11 But the magic needs to happen right here.
10:14 So, what I'm doing is I took a screenshot of all this, drug it over to Claude,
10:18 and said, "All right, I'm going to use the same workflow to dog food it to try
10:23 to find business owners that want this missed call text back feature.
10:26 So, give me new instructions for this and just know that the agent is going
10:30 to act as me as like a sales agent to answer questions for the business owner
10:34 and tell them how it will make them more money that it'll cost 500 bucks
10:38 a month and if it doesn't pay for itself in the first 90 days, then it's free.
10:42 Okay, you're a friendly assistant to Chris Kerner.
10:44 You're texting a business owner who just heard a voicemail
10:46 from Chris about an AI powered miscalled textbox system.
10:49 yada yada yada.
10:50 And remember, we want to remove the quotations from these questions.
10:55 We're going to add one more condition here that says hot lead.
10:59 Customer is very interested asking detailed questions
11:01 or wants to start immediately without a demo.
11:04 And then again, we're going to send an SMS for that.
11:08 Now, if you go in here, these are called conditional tags.
11:11 This will put in the customer's first name so I know
11:14 how to address them if I were to actually call them.
11:16 So, I'm just saying user first name is a very hot lead.
11:20 Contact them here with phone and name.
11:22 Save.
11:22 Then we're going to click publish.
11:25 So every business has two functions.
11:27 Find customers, fulfill those customers,
11:29 aka do the service or the product that you're promising them.
11:32 We just did both of them with the same workflow.
11:35 Or at least we just set up the ability to find the customers.
11:38 So let's go ahead and do that real quick.
11:40 Okay.
11:40 So who do I text?
11:42 Well, I went to outscraper.com.
11:43 I typed in treeming businesses in Dallas, Texas.
11:46 It gave me this info.
11:48 And all I care about is the phone number.
11:51 That's it.
11:52 But I need to standardize them.
11:53 So I'm going to do Crl+ FRL find.
11:56 I'm going to do plus one space.
11:57 I'm going to get rid of all those.
11:59 Replace it with nothing.
12:00 And then I'm just going to do a dash.
12:03 Replace all that with nothing.
12:04 So now I have 181 phone numbers for tree trimming businesses in Dallas, Texas.
12:09 Okay.
12:10 Now I'm going to go file, download, CSV.
12:13 Okay.
12:13 Then you can use any number of services for ringless voicemail drops.
12:17 I use Slack Broadcast, not an ad.
12:19 I'm going to go create a new campaign.
12:21 I'm going to put in the caller ID.
12:23 This needs to match what's in goh high level.
12:25 This is the number that the voicemail is coming from.
12:27 Also, I haven't even described this yet.
12:29 A ringless voicemail drop is when you upload
12:31 a voicemail to a piece of software like
12:33 this and you upload a list of phone numbers
12:35 and it will send that voicemail to those phone numbers,
12:37 either cell or landline without their phone ringing its magic.
12:41 Sometimes people will see a missed call, sometimes they don't.
12:43 It's kind of random,
12:44 but what it is going to do is generate a bunch of calls back to you.
12:48 Okay, now I'm going to record a voicemail.
12:50 So, I'm going to open my voice memos app.
12:52 You've probably seen it before.
12:54 And I'm just going to hit the big red button.
12:56 Hey, this is Chris Kerner.
12:57 I'm here in Dallas, Texas, and I'm looking for a tree trimming business.
13:01 So, please give me a call back.
13:02 Thanks.
13:03 Kept it broad.
13:03 Kept it vague.
13:04 We're going to incentivize for a call back here.
13:07 I'm going to airdrop this to the MacBook that I'm recording on right now.
13:10 Upload recording.
13:11 Boom.
13:11 It's uploaded.
13:12 I'm going to upload my list.
13:15 Doesn't matter what I name it.
13:18 173 numbers.
13:19 It obviously scrubbed out eight because
13:21 they were probably invalid phone numbers.
13:23 We want to send it immediately.
13:24 And that's it.
13:25 We're going to start getting call backs.
13:28 And then once GoH High Level recognizes that call back,
13:30 it's going to text them back and then it's going to start
13:33 a conversation as long as they text back to my text back.
13:36 Also, to sync up your phone number with GoHigh Level,
13:39 you just do it in the settings.
13:41 It's pretty self-explanatory.
13:41 Now, all there is left to do is click submit.
13:44 All right.
13:44 And look at this.
13:45 You can see they've all gone out.
13:46 A lot of them failed.
13:47 Most were successful.
13:48 And you can see the carrier that they're on and the phone numbers over here.
13:52 Now, let's see if we get any uh call backs.
13:55 Okay, got one.
13:55 This is wild.
13:56 I'm like I'm watching my AI interact with this business owner.
13:59 Says, "Hey, I know this is random,
14:01 but I'm using a mis call text back on you right
14:03 now that will have a full conversation with you with AI.
14:06 It feels real, doesn't it?
14:07 I want to install it for you on your tree
14:09 trimming business so you can close more jobs.
14:11 What questions do you have?" Oh, and it just says cost.
14:14 Great question.
14:14 It is $500 a month, but if it doesn't pay for itself in the first 90 days,
14:18 then I'll give you all your money back.
14:19 Can we hop on a call so I can explain?
14:21 It'll only take a minute.
14:22 There it is for proof.
14:23 So, I haven't closed them yet.
14:24 I don't have money in my pocket yet from this, but you can see that this works.
14:28 And literally just yesterday, this 16-year-old girl that's in a high school
14:31 for entrepreneurs emailed me this and said, "Hey, it works.
14:34 I use ringless voicemail drops to find a plumber that wants AI
14:37 integrated into his business." And I got it on my 16th birthday.
14:41 So, that wasn't like the same thing.
14:43 She wasn't using GoHigh Level at all, but these principles work.
14:45 And if you can't tell by now, yes,
14:47 GoHigh Level is an amazing supporter of this channel.
14:50 They usually give 14 days free to use it,
14:52 but with my link only, you can get 30 days free.
14:54 And if you end up paying for it, it will support me and my channel.
14:58 So, I'd appreciate that at the top link in the description below.
15:00 Go do this.
15:01 There are 33 million small business owners in the United States,
15:05 and basically all of them could use Miss Call Text Back.
15:07 Now, you know how to install it,
15:08 and now you know how to find them with the same thing, miss callback.
15:12 Also, I have a community of people building AI
15:14 businesses that sell into small businesses just like these.
15:17 It's called Playmakers.
