0:27 There was something that happened last night
0:28 that I think it that is gotten the it's
0:31 the cultural zeitgeist right now that has everybody
0:34 talking and that is the roast of Kevin Hart.
0:37 It was live on Netflix last night.
0:38 They did something different and there were I in my opinion.
0:43 There were two standouts.
0:45 One is Chelsea Handler who I've loved forever
0:48 and I miss Chelsea lately and I miss Chewy.
0:53 And uh the other was Cheryl Underwood and Cheryl's
0:56 going to join us a little bit later.
0:57 So let's bring her in because I'm a huge fan and I want to talk.

1:38 Um and it was a long night.
1:40 It was a long night.
1:41 It was interesting to watch live.
1:42 I I got to tell you I've watched many roasts, you know,
1:45 the Comedy Central roast and at times I felt like a little
1:48 bit uncomfortable with this one and I was like is this good?
1:50 Is it bad?
1:51 I think ultimately it's probably good, but it's gotten a lot of criticism.

1:56 did any of it I'm going to play some clips.

2:26 told about Tony Hinchcliffe and going to the Middle East was
2:31 I think it was the most brilliant joke of the night.

3:26 I guess that's the spirit of a roast, but even I don't know.
3:29 I find it all to be pretty ick.
3:32 So, I just wanted to like, you know,
3:34 play it a little bit of a higher key and while
3:36 also eviscerating them and letting them know on behalf of women really.

3:42 Like for since this seems to be an epidemic, you know what I mean?
3:46 I really wanted to focus on on the the most kind of gross behavior
3:52 that's rewarded.

3:55 Um, were you uncomfortable?

3:58 It's pretty hard to make me feel uncomfortable, you know?
4:00 I don't really care enough about any of it.
4:03 But I definitely was like this isn't funny.
4:05 I don't think some of this is funny.
4:07 You know, it's like like I don't think jokes like that are necessary.
4:12 It's like if you can't think of things to say in a more clever way,
4:15 why would you ever make a joke about a noose?
4:18 Like it's just not acceptable.
4:20 And I'm not taking any of the joy out of it.
4:22 It was a fun night.
4:23 I had a great time, but I just don't think that that kind of stuff is necessary.

4:48 and crushed it and and also said something loving within, you know, her set.
4:53 She was like, "It's nice that we can all
4:54 get up here and say these things, but they're brutal.
4:57 They're brutal to women and they're brutal
4:59 to black women and it's just like so transparent.
5:02 Um but Kevin had a great time and and I had everyone seemed to have a good time.
5:09 So, you know, I mean that's what the spirit of the roast is.
5:12 You got to let it all hang out.
5:13 Like I watched Nikki on um Kevin's new show on Netflix, Funny AF,
5:18 and I was talking to her at the Ted Sandos brunch party
5:21 for the comics because it was Netflix as a joke festival week.
5:24 And um I don't know why I'm yelling right now, by the way.
5:27 And I um I uh and she was just like,
5:30 "You have to go as hard as possible and do not even like care.
5:34 Like just be yourself completely and just say the worst thing." And I was like,
5:38 "Okay." But I didn't want to say, you know,
5:40 I wasn't going to start talking about gross things that won't wouldn't normally
5:44 come out of my mouth just because I was in some gross company.
5:49 Yeah.
5:49 Well, I thought it was I thought it was really smart.
5:51 you said, you know, with these gross guys here,
5:53 I'm not going to spend my time like, you know, talking about black women.
5:56 I was like, wow, that's that's really great, Chelsea.
5:59 And then you just went in on them.
6:01 But I gotta tell you, I thought uh Regina was amazing.
6:05 Yeah, she was.
6:06 It was pretty funny.
6:07 I was like, "Oh, I didn't know we were
6:11 Yeah, I was like, you know, she went to a couple of places,
6:13 so she was pretty great." And uh and Lizo was fun, too.

6:18 So, that was good.
6:19 they had to have, you know, women.
6:23 I love that.
6:23 I think that you are um I I wouldn't say socially conscious.

6:31 certain things that you do give a[ __] about.
6:33 And that is I think um equality, fairness,
6:37 like you're aware of what's happening in society.

6:46 This is the one joke that uh is getting criticism from a lot of folks.
6:49 Uh this is the Cheryl Underwood husband joke from Tony Hinchcliffe.

7:53 This was the first roast I've ever done.
7:55 So, I've never done a roast like that because I You ever done a roast?
7:58 No, because it was kind of like Chelsea lately was a roast.
8:00 So, what I was I was doing a roast for seven years.
8:03 So, it felt like a hat on a hat.
8:06 But, uh I did this because Kevin is a good
8:08 friend of mine and I and I really love Kevin.
8:10 Like I said this last night towards the end of my speech or whatever,
8:15 but as a woman, Kevin is a really
8:18 like uh he's he's he's never been inappropriate.
8:22 He's never been disgusting.
8:24 He's a male comic who's respectful towards women.
8:27 He wants people to win.
8:28 He's like a really good guy.
8:30 And you know, they're not that many of those.
8:33 So when you want, you know, I want everyone to know that about him.
8:36 And I wanted to actually get that across last night because
8:40 he really has never been anything but a great friend to me.
8:44 And and I and I like that's why I did it because I was like, "Oh,
8:48 I I'll go do this and prepare because you have to prepare."
8:51 I was running around town doing my sets and like it was fun.
8:54 I liked it.
8:54 I was like, "Oh, I haven't worked, you know, this hard for a while." But but I
9:00 So you were testing out material before this?
9:03 Yeah, I ran it a few times and uh like yeah,
9:06 I ran it like 10, eight or 10 times just trying out different jokes.
9:09 I had different versions, blah blah blah.
9:11 But um I really wanted to show up
9:13 for him because of the all those reasons, you know?
9:15 He's he's a really I love him.
9:18 You say this that he's your friend, but I mean this joke, play it, Andy.
9:23 The first time I met Kevin was almost 20 years ago.
9:26 And I remember thinking,
9:28 "What is 50 Cents Dick doing walking around all by itself?
9:37 Brilliant.
9:38 That's a good joke.
9:39 That joke." Yeah, that was a good joke.
9:41 I mean, brilliant.
9:42 I saw that the first time I saw that, that was like the first joke I picked.
9:44 I was like, "Let's go." I was like, "Why can't I open with this one?" But yeah,
9:48 50 C I had a very short relationship with 50 Cent,
9:51 but it's really served me and my community well because
9:56 uh people I've gotten lots of mileage out of that.

9:59 I noticed at times that people Chelsea,
10:01 they were saying, you know, roll the prompter up.
10:03 Were they skipping jokes?
10:04 Um because I think Cheryl wanted to skip
10:07 a joke and then Kevin made her tell the joke.

10:10 but and I think Lizo was skipping jokes and Draymond maybe.

10:14 Yeah, people were just rolling through jokes.
10:16 I think what was nice also was that my the audience was on my side when people
10:20 were trying to go in on me and being like she's old or she's a[ __] or whatever.
10:25 The audience wasn't like that into it.
10:27 So, they were rolling through those jokes, too.
10:29 And I liked that.
10:30 I because that wasn't my audience necessarily.
10:32 It wasn't one of my shows when I'm on tour.
10:33 I'm on tour right now, the High and Mighty tour.
10:36 And I'm like where I'm, you know, high most of the time.
10:39 And I was like, "Oh, I wasn't like prepared to uh to like, you know,
10:48 for people to be so like kind of defensive of me." It felt really nice.
10:52 I was like, "Oh." Like the audience was like, "No,
10:54 we don't like these jokes about her." I was like,
10:56 "Oh, I felt like, you know," So that was cute.
11:00 Well, I think generally people like you.
11:02 I don't think people Look, I guess the bros do.
11:04 They don't I don't people gen generally don't have high regard
11:08 that my my words not Chelsea's for like Tony Hingcliffe or some of these folks
11:12 but Chelsea I think people love you because you know there's a comedic side
11:16 of you but there's also the very socially conscious side of you as well.
11:21 This is I want to know what you think about this particular joke.
11:24 This is Tony Hinchcliffe making a joke about you and I think later
11:28 you have to explain to him the difference between being Jewish and a Zionist.

13:06 I found out shortly after like and I was like,
13:09 "Oh, what are we doing?" Same with Katie.
13:11 But anyway, Woody Allen walks in.
13:13 I was like, "I can't." And I kick Katie under the table.
13:15 I'm like, "I gotta we got to get out of here.
13:16 I'm not going to be able to control myself around Woody Allen.
13:19 I'm gonna say something to him." And she's like,
13:21 "Can can you wait?" And I'm like, "Wait until what?" And she's like,
13:23 "Wait until after dinner and say it." I was like,
13:25 "I don't think so." I'm like, "I can't control myself.
13:28 I might have an outburst." And I So, I wait,
13:32 which was a fun experiment for me because I've
13:34 never had to like exhibit patience before in my life.
13:37 And I I waited and waited and waited until dessert came out.
13:41 I was nice and affable throughout dinner.
13:43 I asked him questions about movies that he didn't even make,
13:45 but I was just out of, you know, material.
13:48 And then finally I said at the end of dinner the waiter put
13:52 um like uh blackberry cobbler on everyone's dish around the table and I leaned
13:58 into him and Sunni and I said so how did you two meet and then
14:07 Katie was like it's time to go Chelsea and I was like let's go.
14:11 So I wanted him to make sure he knew that I clocked him and I know what's up.
14:16 What did he say?
14:18 He spit out his blackberry cobbler.
14:20 He was like, I mean, it was[ __] It was just it.
14:24 And I had to say it.
14:25 I had to say something.
14:27 I had to make sure he knew that I knew.

16:25 Get out of here." Um, there were there Chelsea, there were a lot of n-words.

16:42 it's really not my place to even speak about how that impacts me, you know?

17:11 Um let's talk about the live aspect
17:12 of it because that added a different dimension.
17:15 Um and I guess the is it the level
17:17 of difficulty increased because if you bomb you bomb live.

17:22 It's just all out there for people to see.

17:26 You know what I am 51 years old so I am like pretty I'm on tour.
17:31 I'm exercising this muscle a lot.
17:33 I've been doing standup for almost 25 years and the wisdom and um
17:38 presence that I have grown is because I am getting better at my job.
17:44 So part of that is being able to walk
17:47 into that moment with dignity and grace and not sink myself
17:52 to like my surroundings to actually elevate the space
17:55 and and that's what I'm trying to do and and I want
17:58 to do is like bring the vibes up and make
18:01 it like you know and and I've gotten to a place
18:04 in my life where I love doing that and that's
18:06 a gift and it's something I have and I can do it.
18:09 I can set the tone of the room.
18:11 And I think once I got up last night, I did elevate the tone of the room and it
18:15 got to a different place and then it went back down.
18:19 No, I'll tell you.

18:44 was like h I don't know how I feel about this.
18:47 Um I love I I as much as I am a freedom of speech absolutist as much
18:52 but I do think that something should be
18:53 moderated or it should at least be funny, right?
18:56 Or you should learn something rather than vulgar.
18:59 I think that's right.
18:59 I think you have to be funny if you
19:01 you can get away with worse if it's really funny.
19:03 And clever wouldn't hurt either, you know.
19:06 Um it's kind of the same conversation.
19:08 I mean, we're having a rather serious conversation about a rather like,
19:12 you know, fun night.
19:13 So, with that in mind about comedy,
19:16 like part of this whole kind of cancel culture and men
19:21 complaining about you can't say this and there's no freedom of speech.
19:24 I also am a proponent of the freedom of speech.
19:26 Okay.
19:27 I don't think hate speech is helpful.
19:29 I don't think targeting people and people that are
19:31 in groups that are already being targeted is necessary.
19:33 I think if people want to say, "Hey, this makes me feel uncomfortable,
19:36 you can choose whether or not you want
19:38 to respect that person's feelings, but why not?
19:41 Why not respect that person's feelings and why not become clever,
19:44 more clever with your art craft or your whatever
19:46 you think you're doing as a standup,
19:48 do it better and and without hurting people's feelings.
19:51 Talk about yourself." I don't think that's such a challenge.
19:54 I respect being given a structure and saying these are
19:58 the parameters that you can work within if you want,
20:01 you know, to be an ally to a certain group of people.
20:04 I respect that.
20:05 I don't find that to be gay or corny or whatever people want to say, you know,
20:09 like I think that it's important like now more than ever
20:13 to really double down on just actually being a good person really actively,
20:18 not just talking about it,
20:20 like do it and all the all of the things that you do, you know, be accountable.
20:24 And I think sometimes with comedy, you know,
20:26 people can get away with saying kind of really gross,
20:29 ugly stuff by saying pretending they're a persona and that this is my persona.
20:33 It's not really me.
20:34 I'm not a racist.
20:35 I'm I don't think that's that's good or all women
20:38 are[ __] or you know that's all we're our value.
20:42 They can pretend that that's not really who they are.
20:44 But it kind of is like when it's really
20:46 who you are it comes across that's who you are.
20:50 I think we're kind my question is maybe perhaps you've answered it.
20:53 was sort of the same thing.
20:55 Is it sometimes people just um wrapping their bigotry,
20:59 their their their bigotry, their unconscious bias, their racism in a joke?

21:08 and say something racist just because I'm a comedian.
21:11 Do you think that sometimes it's a cover for just being a bigot?
21:15 I mean, it can be.
21:16 You know, I think a comedian could be a cover for a lot of things.
21:18 There's some very troubled people that are comedians.
21:21 There are some serious mental stuff happening, you know,
21:25 with some of these people and like a lot of them are depressed.
21:28 A lot of them are like are really angry and um like any other art, I guess.
21:34 I would say I don't know our news anchors angry
21:37 like our I don't know if that applies to Yes,
21:41 I think everybody's pretty angry actually.
21:44 Um, but uh, yeah, I think it's yeah, I think it's lame in its cover.
21:48 And I also just feel like we're in an era that's pretty um,
21:53 like it's the death cough almost of like white male
21:57 patriarchy and people are having a fit and like I
22:00 don't know how long this cough is going to go
22:01 on and like last for our lifetime and another lifetime maybe,
22:05 but we're watching it and it's happening in real
22:07 time and that's why men act like gross, you know.
22:10 Um they they could that's just there's no reason to be so gross.

32:21 So, we had a team of people, but I'm sitting there going,
32:25 "Oh, so you you think you gonna say this about me?" Oh, okay.
32:29 So, I had a piece of paper and a pen in my pocket.
32:32 So we were go figuring out what could we say and so and Chelsea's like that too.
32:37 Well, God has seen you a great joke because I think the Lord got a good sense
32:40 of humor and I think God sent me some
32:43 great lines and some things that I wanted to say.
32:46 Freedom of speech and unification of the country.
32:49 Things that black comics say that get
32:51 us canled that white male comics are saying.

32:56 And the fact that we could all come together and we only roast who we love.

34:09 because I used to hang out in the Friars Club in Beverly Hills and in New York,
34:14 yeah, things that what comedians talk about when we were with each other,
34:18 sometime it does get up.
34:21 And when Tony came to me at the lunchon at uh Ted Sando's house,
34:27 the owner of Netflix,
34:29 the run to run all of Netflix, and he said,
34:32 "I just want to talk to you." And we spoke.
34:35 And then Shane called me personally.
34:37 It was the respect that they had for the situation.
34:41 I said, "But your jokes better be funny.
34:43 They better be funny.
34:44 And if they're not funny, I will get you." But what it also does, Don,
34:49 it allows us to open up the discussion about mental
34:52 health and men who are bearing the burden of life,
34:56 especially black men who bear the burden of life.
35:00 And we're being told as people, you don't need therapy.
35:03 You can handle this yourself.
35:04 We do need therapy.
35:05 We do need medication.
35:06 We do need God.
35:08 And people need to understand that these things happen.
35:11 But this was a roast on Netflix.
35:13 And had those men not come to me with respect, oh,
35:17 they would have got their ass whooped because I had
35:18 two dudes that was waiting for them and gonna get them.
35:22 We had the whole street ready.
35:24 We had everybody in Englewood was ready.
35:28 But I know people love me and feel like they went too far.
35:32 I I think they did exactly what they needed to do because
35:36 we wouldn't be talking about mental health right now if they didn't.
35:40 Yeah.
35:40 Uh, I'm so glad you mentioned that because one

36:19 I think you have mental health issues.
36:20 But they think that something has to be really wrong
36:22 with you to go to a therapist and to seek help.
36:25 I don't believe that at all.
36:26 So I'm glad that you're doing that.
36:29 And that's and that's a long form conversation.
36:31 And Chelsea and I as women, especially in this business,
36:35 we might meet and fall in love
36:37 with men who bring something into the relationship
36:40 with us and they always turn it around on the woman that we did something.
36:44 Well, he was who he was when we met him.
36:48 We have to deal with the mother, the sister,
36:50 the wives, the ex-wives, the baby mamas, and everything.
36:54 So, I'm saying there's a combination of things.
36:57 And when my husband uh could not bear the stress of this earth,
37:02 you know, I'm the person left behind.
37:04 So with them telling those jokes like when when
37:07 they talked about black don't crack and what they said.
37:10 I don't want people I want people to still love me,
37:12 but I want them to understand in humor.
37:16 I cracked jokes about the tragedies in my life
37:20 because that's what we do as a culture.
37:21 Blacks and Irish people crack jokes.
37:25 A Irish Reich and a black funeral, right?
37:30 A black funeral.
37:31 Best joke.
37:32 Go down, open the casket, check his pockets.

47:12 Um, but there are things that we if you don't have a line where you say,

47:19 I will not do that.
47:20 I will not say that." It's going to stop your career because I'm
47:24 writing a book right now and it's called I'm fat because of you.
47:27 And I'm gonna tell all the stories of my life,
47:30 my my disagreement and and life with my mother uh who gave birth to me.
47:35 Uh the things that happened in my career.
47:38 But one of the things I want to talk about is when I said
47:40 no to certain things in the entertainment
47:42 business and it took me longer than most.
47:44 So to your point, Don, um there were things that I'm glad I got a chance
47:49 to say as a professional comic uh in a roast.
47:53 It's in a roast.
47:54 That's the different it difference.
47:56 If it's personal, if you're saying it to hurt me,
48:00 you might get stolong or you'll never see me again.
48:03 But if it if we're roasting each other based on the truth that's out there,
48:09 but we're doing it with love, that's a personal thing be between comics.

48:48 is fighting.
48:51 Like Bill Cosby, Hart is a black comedian from Philadelphia.
48:54 And like Bill Cosby, women don't know when Kevin is inside of them.
48:58 You've done good, though, Kevin.
49:00 The black community is so proud of you.
49:02 Right now, George Floyd is looking up us at us all,
49:04 laughing so hard that he can't breathe.

49:13 What' you feel about what you heard?
49:16 Um, look, I'm not easily triggered.

49:21 Um, as long as a joke is funny.
49:24 Now, when when you said as long as it's done with love,
49:28 I do feel that there are people who and I I spoke about this with Chelsea,
49:34 who cover their bigotry or their bias
49:36 or their racism or their sexism with a joke.
49:39 And when it's really them and they're saying,
49:41 "I can get away with this because it's funny or it's
49:43 a joke." I do feel like that was part of it.
49:45 I don't find him to be funny.
49:47 Um, you're talking about Tony Hinchcliffe.
49:49 Don't find him to be funny at all.
49:51 Well, he and he's the guy that made the statement
49:53 about the Puerto Rican people at the rally, right?
49:56 Yeah.
49:56 I Yeah.
49:56 I don't find his brand of humor funny.
49:58 And I think that you're hilarious.
49:59 I think that, you know,
50:00 I' I'd listed all the ladies and as I as I told Chelsea before,
50:05 I think the women um it's harder for the women to come up through the ranks
50:10 and I often find that the women are
50:12 a lot funnier than the average maleuh comedian.

50:16 You know, like you and Samore and and um uh Nikki
50:20 Glazer and just women one after the other is just[ __] hilarious.
50:23 I mean, just hilarious.

50:25 Um and so anyway, I I just don't I I don't find him funny at all.
50:28 Well, to to your point, I believe also as we as a people,
50:32 we've all been taught you got to be 10
50:34 times what anybody else is to even be considered.
50:39 And I think a lot of people don't like Tony Hinchcliffe and and you shouldn't.
50:45 All comedy is a taste.
50:47 I've been considered a homophobe for positions and humor,
50:52 uh a bigot, uh a a transphobic,
50:56 uh that uh I'm I'm supposed to be a this uh hate myself Republican,
51:02 but then when you come see my show and you get to know me better,
51:06 but then you also say, "But I don't agree with that." Okay, that's okay.
51:09 But I think to your point, Don, in this climate,
51:14 with this administration, with with with what's going on in our country,
51:21 it's been allowed cuz that's why I said what I said about them being
51:26 able to use words that when we used to use those words, we were cancelled.
51:32 They were not.
51:33 They're being paid for this.
51:36 So, I understand the audience's feeling of that's not funny.
51:41 But I tell jokes about uh uh I think I do
51:44 a joke about um why do I carry my purse on stage?
51:49 Cuz white folks steal any race of people take land from the Indians
51:52 or show up take two or three dollars out your purse.
51:55 Now, now if you and if you go back and look
51:59 at my Laugh of Palooa set produced by Marcus King and Jamie Fox
52:05 where you hear me talk about uh how I felt that the terrorist
52:11 that flew that plane in the building should have been treated.
52:13 They came in this country with $35,000 cash went
52:17 into a flight training school and nobody told on them.
52:21 But the rest of it is profane.
52:24 Well, they some people don't like the use of the language,
52:27 but I'm doing a political set that's pro-American
52:31 and I thought I was going to bomb in Atlanta.
52:32 So, to your point, comedy is one subjective.
52:36 Two, uh, it's it's an acquired taste.
52:40 I think there should be a Tony Hedgecliffe.
52:43 And you notice that the audience didn't laugh at a lot of that stuff.
52:47 They groaned, which they should have.
52:50 They also got quiet, which they should have.
52:53 Why you throwing all that out there and then
52:56 it opens the door for Sher Underwood to say,
52:59 "I wish um would in Englewood you will not make it out of here alive."
53:08 I loved that when you did.
53:09 I played it coming out of the break and introducing you.
53:12 You heard that, right?
53:12 That was when you got up there.
53:14 I'M LIKE, "NOW DAMN, THERE IS A THAT'S A comedian right there.

53:19 That's, you know, that's that's the comedian that I go pay for to see.
53:23 And speaking of a comedian that we should go pay to see,
53:27 obviously Cheryl Underwood, but Cat Williams.

53:31 And I thought Cat was very good last night.
53:33 And this is a moment when Cat and Kevin, they've had a beef for years.

53:38 But here's the moment where they ended the beef last night live on TV.

55:01 I was very disappointed when Cat went on Club
55:04 Shay Shay uh and talked to Shannon Sharp that way.
55:07 But then I had to check myself of first I look inside myself,
55:11 Don, to say Cheryl, what have you done, right?

55:17 And so for me, uh I was disappointed, but then I thought,
55:21 okay, but then Kevin goes on, uh the Breakfast Club.
55:24 If we don't have all these platforms,
55:26 then we can't have reconciliation in the biggest
55:29 platform in the world on Netflix.
55:32 Now, is it time for us to go?

55:47 Dale Hugley and I were at odds for a long
55:50 time and two black women got us back together.
55:52 my mom and Jasmine on this show and they're like you you guys you should work
55:55 together because you actually you know I think
55:57 you can learn from each other and you can
55:59 learn about each other and so we actually do that we talk about it in the show
56:02 and publicly we were like we talk about it so I was very proud of that moment
56:07 well and and I I would love to do something with Shane Gillis.
56:13 Oh really?
56:15 Yes.
56:16 I'd like to do something with Shane.
56:17 See I think the country wants to see us come together.
56:21 We can agree to disagree.
56:22 We can be Americans with different points of views.
56:25 Right now, the time for us to come together because everybody,
56:28 I do this in my show,
56:29 Don, where I talk about in the beginning, you know, of my show,
56:32 I talk about being a registered Republican,
56:34 but why I'm not supporting this, this, this, this, and this, and how
56:38 everybody now they looking for us to come rescue you, right?
56:43 So, I think you having your platform and what we've
56:48 just done with freedom of speech and what we can do, we can elevate thought.
56:53 We can stop accusing people of things for people we don't know,
56:56 but also hold people accountable for things that they can do better.
57:00 Last but not least, my tour is called uh the I need a job tour.
57:04 It's me and Kyle Herby, and we give away money to men at the end of the show.
57:08 We bring men on the stage and they try to win some of my money.
57:11 We're all over the country.
57:13 We'll be in New Orleans uh this coming weekend at a new comedy club,
57:17 the comedy room in New Orleans.
57:19 We're going to bring Comedy Live.
57:21 Then I got Sherwood Great American Talent Search,
57:23 Lake Charles, Louisiana doing Junth.

57:28 That's community friendly, small business friendly, corporate friendly,
57:31 and it's it's a show I'm producing.
57:33 Last, the spiritual nourishment initiative.
57:36 We have two gospel plays that I own.
57:38 We're going to take the Tyler Perry model, put it on college campuses.
57:42 First, I make donations out of my foundation that had
57:44 the kids workshop to play pursuant to a table read,
57:49 pursuant to a live performance.
57:50 All the money stays on the campus.

58:03 The other thing is that you know the you were you were so brilliant
58:06 on the talk show and I look the view you know the view is an iconic show.

58:13 Um and so they do a great job.
58:15 But I also thought that you elevated that show
58:17 and I think that that would be a good seat for you to sit in.

58:22 Well I first of all I'm thankful to God having worked all
58:25 those years at CBS and that's going to be in the book too.
58:29 The book is called I'm Fat Because of You.
58:30 And and we'll tell you why in the book.
58:32 But I am going to talk about my experience from not just getting the job,
58:37 but working my way up to getting the job,
58:39 then getting the job with the Dream Team Five,
58:42 Julie Chin Moonveves, Aisha Tyler,
58:44 Sharon Osborne, Sarah Gilbert, and all of the men and women in between that.
58:49 But if I hadn't have worked on first,
58:52 I really think I got it because Sherry Shepard Whoopy Goldberg convinced
58:56 Joy to let me do her comedy corner way back in the day.
59:00 Then I think somebody from CBS saw me and then that's how I got the talk.
59:05 Then the view calls after the talk gets cancelled, they call and go,
59:09 "Can you uh sit in for Alyssa?" And I told him,
59:12 I said, "Hey, I'm I'm not the same type.
59:15 I'm considered a rhino." Am I right, Don?
59:17 Yeah, you're a rhino.
59:18 I'm considered a rhino.
59:20 That's right.
59:21 So then they called me to come back.
59:24 Thank you, America.
59:25 Putting your finger to the keyboard and we having such great chemistry.

1:03:32 able to do things that I can reinvest in this country.

1:03:39 is for all Americans because like you Don limit we can change lives and bring

1:03:47 to vote especially when people are changing laws and the voting rights act.
