24 Hours with Good Good Golf
Colin and Samir
0:00 We spent the day with the guys behind GoodGoodGolf [music] to learn
0:03 how they became one of the most successful sports channels on YouTube.
0:07 What do you think makes a good GoodGood video?
0:12 [screaming] Now the thing is, we don't really watch or play golf.
0:14 I think that was my first time hitting a ball on a golf [music] course.
0:17 How often do you golf?
0:18 Not.
0:19 But we do have a deep passion for telling stories
0:21 in sports and they've always been a big part of our lives.
0:27 Today, the biggest shift taking place in sports is that some
0:31 of the best stories are no longer in the hands of the networks,
0:34 but with the athletes themselves and the super fans.
0:37 Creators are now some of the most influential faces in sports
0:40 media and at the center of that shift is GoodGoodGolf.
0:44 What started with friends posting their golf
0:46 videos on YouTube has turned into a sensation.
0:49 GoodGood is a powerful force in the game with a huge legion of fans.
0:54 In the last year, they raised $45 million to grow their company,
0:57 launched an apparel and equipment line
0:59 in over 800 Dick's Sporting Goods locations,
1:01 and signed a multi-year deal with the PGA Tour.
1:04 And they have become a breakout business success worth studying.
1:08 We made over $100,000 in 8 minutes.
1:11 So, [music] as we play,
1:12 you'll learn the four secrets to GoodGood success and how they've
1:15 managed to capture attention [music] when it's only getting harder to do.
1:24 All right.
1:25 So, we are at this golf course right now.
1:27 It's called Tribute.
1:29 It's in Dallas.
1:29 We're about to play golf with a couple of the guys,
1:32 Matt Scharff, Bobby, Colin, and Max.
1:35 It's Samir and Matt versus Colin and me and Colin.
1:38 Well, here we are, huh?
1:40 Here we are.
1:40 Here we are.
1:42 uh this might sound like an obvious question.
1:43 Oh boy.
1:44 But [laughter] but everybody has their own clubs?
1:47 Yeah.
1:48 Yeah.
1:49 What do you mean like our own just like our own set of clubs?
1:52 Yeah.
1:52 Oh boy, Samir.
1:54 We uh okay.
1:54 [laughter] We got a lot to talk about, don't we?
1:58 We're playing the best of three holes in what's called a scramble,
2:02 meaning each player on the team will hit,
2:03 but then they'll choose the best ball and play that one,
2:06 which more often than not is going to come
2:08 from our teammate who has a lot more experience than we do.
2:10 But we may surprise you.
2:12 My goal is number one to win.
2:15 Number two to not lose my ball.
2:17 Okay.
2:17 That see, not losing a ball,
2:19 that is always an amazing That is like my goal every time.
2:21 If I can not lose a ball, that's a that's a good day.
2:25 All right, everyone ready?
2:29 Oh my goodness.
2:30 Brother.
2:30 That's a beautiful shot.
2:31 That's absolutely crushed.
2:32 Woo!
2:33 What the heck?
2:34 There you go.
2:34 But that was supposed to go over there.
2:35 That's okay.
2:36 I think that's fine over there.
2:37 Okay.
2:38 Great freaking drive.
2:38 I can whack on this thing.
2:42 Holy mother of goodness.
2:45 Guys, what are we talking about here?
2:47 Where did that go?
2:47 That like went in That's like on the green.
2:49 That's in outer space.
2:50 Well, all right.
2:51 What What just happened?
2:52 Are we good?
2:52 I think so.
2:53 I hit a pretty good shot.
2:57 Okay, I absolutely love that.
2:59 That's money.
3:00 All right, at least it's straight.
3:01 Absolutely.
3:02 that, that's actually beautiful.
3:04 That's perfect.
3:05 Let's go.
3:06 Wait, you guys can see where this ball's going.
3:08 Yeah.
3:08 Like you you're clear on where the ball is going.
3:10 in on the ball watching.
3:11 I've absolutely no idea where that ball went.
3:12 We're playing a scramble, so like we'll take the best shot out of us two.
3:16 Colin, let's go.
3:17 Okay.
3:18 I literally have no idea where that's going.
3:21 right just left of the pin.
3:22 How far?
3:23 No, it's like 40 yards.
3:24 I I think literally 6370 Could be anywhere.
3:27 I have no idea where this is.
3:28 Let's go.
3:29 Hey, this is team Colin right here.
3:30 Here we go.
3:30 After we teed off, the first [music] reason why
3:33 GoodGood has become so successful was made pretty clear.
3:36 See, that's the beautiful thing about golf is like we
3:39 don't have [music] to set up a script or anything.
3:40 It's a sport.
3:41 There's going to be problem and solution all the time.
3:43 So, the sport of golf kind of creates a plot.
3:46 Cuz you're going to hit it in the rough,
3:47 you have to figure out how it then obviously
3:49 competition amongst [music] some of these six to eight guys.
3:51 Sometimes what do we have?
3:51 10, 12 guys in a video?
3:53 I think that's what it is.
3:54 We don't script anything.
3:56 We just kind of go play a sport and what unfolds unfolds.
4:00 I kind of like it.
4:00 It's just authentic and genuine.
4:02 Just go golf.
4:03 It keeps you authentic.
4:04 It does.
4:04 Plus the sport's going to keep you authentic, too.
4:06 You can't You can't fake golf.
4:07 You got to go do it.
4:08 the hell out of this.
4:09 Yeah.
4:09 Yeah.
4:10 Exactly.
4:11 Like Bobby said, golf [music] makes for the perfect story.
4:14 The best stories are really just a series
4:16 of problems that the audience is waiting to be solved.
4:20 If there's no problem, there's no story.
4:22 And golf, along with all sports really, provides the perfect framework for this.
4:26 Each shot in golf is a new problem that the audience is waiting to be solved.
4:31 So, this is what's called the two two-tiered green.
4:33 Okay.
4:34 You see the first bump?
4:35 That's the first tier.
4:36 Okay.
4:36 And then you get up over the second hump and that's the second tier.
4:40 And it's a very difficult shot cuz you kind of want
4:42 to land it in the second tier and like let it bounce.
4:44 But we're not going to talk about that.
4:45 You're going to step up and you're going to dial
4:47 this in and you're going to probably make it.
4:49 Wow.
4:49 But I'm trying to go to the second tier.
4:51 Yeah.
4:51 Yeah.
4:51 So, I got to hit it kind of hard.
4:53 Yeah, not too hard.
4:54 Yeah.
4:55 When you're doing a GoodGood video
4:57 like are the stakes typically just competition?
5:01 Friendly competition or do you guys add any other stakes?
5:04 There's about a million on the line every time we play.
5:05 Okay, got it.
5:06 That's behind the scenes.
5:07 Yeah.
5:07 We do this thing called the GoodGood Cup where it's
5:09 17 to 18 videos and every video has a point system.
5:13 Yeah.
5:13 So, if you do poorly in one video, it affects the outcome of all 18 videos.
5:17 Uh So, those always get super competitive and at the end of the day,
5:20 you're going to get competitive with your buddies.
5:21 Yeah.
5:21 Yeah.
5:22 You got six, seven dudes out on the course.
5:23 Yeah.
5:24 But it's fun.
5:25 I think feel like people enjoy that.
5:26 Yeah, they do.
5:27 All right.
5:27 Well, let me let me hit this Let me get in there.
5:30 All right.
5:31 If this goes in, we'll do a $5,000 GoodGood gift card giveaway.
5:34 Wow.
5:34 Here's the stakes.
5:35 Damn.
5:37 Stakes.
5:40 Yeah.
5:40 Yeah, we were We were talking during the sketch show.
5:42 Yeah.
5:43 Not the worst thing in the world.
5:44 Not the worst thing in the world.
5:46 Not the worst thing in the world.
5:48 Good for you.
5:48 Yeah, we can do that.
5:49 We're going to add some extra stakes to this game.
5:52 Every time we flub a shot like Samir just did,
5:55 we'll add a piece of our Press Publish merch to a bundle
5:58 that we'll give away to one of you in the comments.
6:00 To enter, you just need to comment below team Colin or team Samir.
6:03 But to make it even more interesting, GoodGood said that they would add some
6:07 of their merch as well whenever they flub a shot.
6:10 And if we don't message you and you don't win,
6:12 you can still purchase a collaborative Press Publish times GoodGood bundle
6:15 on our store thanks to a feature from the sponsor of this episode, Shopify.
6:19 Shopify has truly allowed us to turn so many
6:22 of the ideas that Samir and I have into actual businesses.
6:26 And to this day, one of the most impactful things
6:28 in our career has been seeing people wear our Press Publish merch.
6:33 And for GoodGood, like most creators, they built their business on Shopify.
6:36 What was the pitch and why did you know it was going to work?
6:40 Um it was content-focused apparel company.
6:44 It is hands-down one of the things they do best
6:46 and we'll touch on that a little bit later in the episode.
6:48 We found that one of the best ways
6:50 to grow on YouTube was to collaborate with other creators.
6:53 And now that's something you can do directly within Shopify with Collective.
6:56 With Shopify Collective,
6:58 creators can now collaborate with brands and other
7:01 creators by selling their products within their stores.
7:04 So, you can give your audience products
7:05 they might like without actually carrying new inventory.
7:08 And then when you sell an order on your store,
7:10 it goes directly to that brand or creator so that they can actually fulfill it.
7:14 Once you download the app,
7:15 you just go into your Shopify admin and you'll see Collective right there.
7:18 I sent a sign-up link to the guys at GoodGood.
7:21 We talked through the items that we wanted to include together [music]
7:23 and they showed up right here in Shopify so that I could add
7:26 them to the bundle before adding my own image and [music] setting it live.
7:29 So, if you're a creator or an entrepreneur and you have an idea,
7:32 you can click the link in the description [music]
7:35 shopify.com/colinandsamir and you can get a free
7:36 trial to get your store started.
7:39 And now for the rest of the episode, whenever we hit a really bad shot,
7:42 you'll see the product that we added in the bottom corner thanks to Shopify.
7:49 Ooh.
7:50 Go.
7:50 Beautiful.
7:51 Don't go up there.
7:52 Get legs.
7:53 Sit.
7:53 Get legs.
7:54 Get up there.
7:54 Get up there.
7:54 Get up there.
7:55 Get up there.
7:55 Yes.
7:56 All right, I get it now.
7:57 I'll get it.
7:58 And then you just do that every single time and we'll never lose.
8:01 This is probably the hardest shot
8:02 in golf the least practiced by amateur golfers.
8:05 It's a hard shot.
8:06 There's multiple ways you could approach it.
8:07 You could kind of hit behind it, explode it out,
8:08 or you could pick it and get it up there.
8:10 Literally the hardest shot in golf consensus amongst everyone.
8:13 hear that?
8:13 Yeah, you got it.
8:15 Try opening the face a little bit and just swinging at it.
8:18 Yeah, just swing at it.
8:20 Just get it.
8:22 That's good.
8:23 Hey!
8:24 That's good.
8:25 Honestly, the fact that we were out, that was amazing.
8:27 That was impressive.
8:31 Oh, there we go, Colin.
8:32 Go.
8:32 Get up there.
8:34 That's going to be a tough putt, but I'll take it.
8:36 I feel like at this point, I don't know the speed of the greens.
8:40 I just send it.
8:42 Okay.
8:43 Send it.
8:43 Send it is my advice.
8:44 Loud and clear.
8:47 I sent it too much.
8:48 Hey, that's That's better than back down here.
8:53 Okay.
8:54 Come on.
8:56 Okay.
8:55 Colin Ross.
8:56 Let's go.
8:56 Great putt.
8:59 How hard do I want to hit this?
9:00 Just feel it.
9:01 Let your body tell you.
9:02 Yeah.
9:06 Oh my do it.
9:07 Let your BODY DO IT!
9:08 LET YOUR BODY DO IT!
9:11 LET your body work.
9:13 Damn.
9:14 Let's go.
9:15 Wow, that felt good.
9:16 With Samir sinking that putt,
9:18 he and Matt go up one nothing in this best of three holes challenge.
9:22 Also like back to the creation of the videos,
9:24 I feel like it's pretty clear we just We just follow with the camera.
9:27 Yeah, of course.
9:28 I like too that like Max, I can hear you.
9:30 When Colin speaks, I can hear Colin behind the camera.
9:32 It's just super comfortable.
9:34 Like that's the difference between YouTube and TV.
9:36 You're never going to hear the guy behind the camera ask that question.
9:39 Yeah.
9:40 Yeah.
9:40 [music] I really uh when I dreamt up how this was going to play out today,
9:44 I didn't didn't foresee Samir making that putt and him being on top.
9:48 But but that's golf, I guess.
9:49 And you freaking knocked it in.
9:51 What a dog.
9:52 really fun.
9:52 So, wait, your story is you You pursuing acting, weren't you?
9:56 Sure was, I uh went to college at Sterling, Kansas.
10:00 Okay.
10:00 Uh and was pursuing um [laughter] I did a lot of theater stuff.
10:06 I really really loved performing in front of people.
10:09 I loved watching like people laugh if I said something funny.
10:11 That was always kind of like a dream yeah for me to like go to college
10:14 and then do theater and then get on Broadway or if I got really good at golf,
10:19 go to Q school, get my card, go to the tour.
10:22 And as you can see, none of that worked out.
10:24 Yeah, well.
10:25 But you're doing both the things.
10:26 But I am kind of doing both.
10:27 You're performing and you're playing golf.
10:29 Yeah, and that's what I started to realize after
10:31 I had gotten in gotten into YouTube a little bit.
10:33 Uh me, Garrett, and Stephen, we filmed a bunch of videos together,
10:36 built GM Golf up pretty big,
10:38 and kind of changed the game for golf, playing with frying pans,
10:43 the wheel not a deal was a big success, a big hit.
10:45 And so like we're really doing crazy things,
10:47 playing with spatulas on the golf course, and people were like, "Brother,
10:50 like they're so accustomed to golf club, golf ball, tee, Yeah.
10:54 no talking.
10:55 Right.
10:55 And and I am an absolute, as you can tell, maniac.
10:59 Right.
10:59 Right.
10:59 Right.
10:59 So I bring that to the YouTube game,
11:01 and people are like, "Dude, this guy needs to shut it down.
11:03 Shut it down." The second reason [music] Good Good has
11:06 been so successful is that they respect their audience's time,
11:09 which is something that many legacy media outlets don't do.
11:12 [music] Did you realize it was boring?
11:15 Yeah, I grew up every Thanksgiving,
11:17 [music] my grandpa would turn on golf to fall asleep.
11:20 Like that was his [laughter] that was his nap time.
11:23 Yeah.
11:24 [music]
11:23 There's just not enough action for them to not be showing more personality.
11:27 Compared to where it used to be.
11:29 This for birdie and 14.
11:33 Good Good and the top sports creators today have
11:36 innovated on their game to make [music] it move faster,
11:38 be more visual, and packed with way more personality.
11:45 [screaming and groaning] I go first?
11:51 Yep.
11:53 Oh.
11:54 Where'd it go?
11:55 I lost it.
11:55 Yeah, I went way under.
11:57 Not good.
11:58 It's more of a pop fly.
12:00 I think we're in his head after that putt.
12:02 Yeah, you're in everybody's head.
12:03 You're in my head even.
12:04 That was freaking nuts.
12:05 [laughter] Let's go do it again.
12:07 Let's do it.
12:09 I got one.
12:10 If you teed it up a little lower, you'd be cranking it.
12:11 I'll take one more just We'll practice.
12:14 Even go a little bit lower than that.
12:16 You good, man?
12:17 Everything all right, or am I in your head from that putt?
12:23 Oh, he said hello.
12:25 All right.
12:26 I'll see you on the green, man.
12:27 Don't even worry about it.
12:28 That has some speed.
12:30 All right.
12:30 All right.
12:30 I think we may both have a future in golf here.
12:34 Wow, that was crickets.
12:35 Nothing.
12:35 Oh, yeah.
12:36 Future Future Golf College coming in hot.
12:38 Yeah, thanks for the confidence.
12:38 You should start a golf channel, dude.
12:39 Yeah.
12:40 Cool.
12:40 Yeah.
12:43 [laughter] So it'll be instead of GM Golf, it's CS Golf.
12:44 CS Golf.
12:45 CS Golf.
12:46 Colin's got a lot of movement before he hits.
12:48 Yeah.
12:48 Yeah, I got to Yeah.
12:49 Got to come like he's warming up his body.
12:53 Oh my god.
12:55 Sit.
12:56 That hole.
12:57 That's straight downwind.
12:58 That is a bomb.
12:59 the green?
13:00 No, there's some crap over there.
13:01 There's a little creek and like stuff that comes out over there.
13:05 You're the dog.
13:06 You're the dog we've been needing.
13:08 [laughter] You're the dog.
13:09 You guys really could capture the Indian market if you let me in the group.
13:13 You know?
13:13 I'm trying, man.
13:14 of Indian golfers out there.
13:15 I'm only got 8%.
13:16 I can't do it all, man.
13:19 [laughter] All right.
13:19 That's a good warm-up.
13:20 Yeah.
13:20 Yeah, that's the This what you guys do?
13:22 the Phelps?
13:22 Is that what he does?
13:23 Yeah.
13:24 Just dive in.
13:26 There it is.
13:28 Yeah.
13:29 Yeah, it's going to be big.
13:33 Yeah.
13:34 Hey.
13:34 It's in play.
13:35 We'll fix that in post.
13:36 Yeah.
13:36 It's all right.
13:37 Yes.
13:37 Yep, add a different tracer.
13:38 Yep.
13:39 I loved I loved when you hit the fairway.
13:40 [laughter] I love when you hit the fairway.
13:43 man.
13:46 Well, that's in the hole.
13:46 That's his fourth one one.
13:48 Get a big hop.
13:50 That's going to be right up there.
13:51 Good ball.
13:52 Wow.
13:52 All right.
13:52 So what do we do now?
13:53 Do I hit my ball?
13:54 No.
13:55 No.
13:55 Okay.
13:55 Now we go pick it up.
13:56 Still don't get it.
13:56 He always hits He always hits Shark's ball.
13:58 Come with me.
13:59 All right.
14:00 Come with me.
14:01 I'll take you where you need to go.
14:03 We'll just stop the video on my putt.
14:05 As a reminder, because Samir sunk that putt,
14:07 and considering we're only playing three holes,
14:09 Colin and I have to win this hole in order to tie it up.
14:13 [music] Because if we lose, the game is over,
14:15 and there's no way that we can earn more points than them.
14:20 Well, one more.
14:21 One more.
14:21 One Yep.
14:22 Yep.
14:22 No one saw it.
14:23 No one saw Samir really just flubbing that shot.
14:24 Oh, yeah.
14:25 Wow.
14:25 He's going to pretend like that didn't happen, but it totally did.
14:27 Well, Molly.
14:29 Yep.
14:29 Yep.
14:29 Don't even worry about it.
14:30 Yep.
14:33 Hey, Samir.
14:34 Yeah.
14:34 Is that your second shot?
14:35 No.
14:36 Okay.
14:37 Interesting.
14:38 I would say nothing.
14:41 Oh, man.
14:43 All right, straight into the sand trap.
14:45 That was great contact.
14:47 Good contact.
14:48 Great contact.
14:48 Again, this is a very difficult shot in golf.
14:53 Wow.
14:53 Go go go go go.
14:55 Wow.
14:56 Gosh dang it.
14:57 See, Samir, that is what I like to say sucked.
15:00 I know you probably thought it was good, but it was great.
15:02 I needed to carry like another 3 yards and it would have hit the green.
15:05 I'm in the sand pit.
15:06 Is that what it's called?
15:06 Sand pit?
15:07 Sand pit, the bunker.
15:08 I'm in the bunker.
15:09 I want to say it's probably like a 50 or 60% swing for you on this.
15:16 They have a They're in a great spot here.
15:22 That is amazing.
15:24 Oh, what a spin.
15:26 Great shot, though.
15:27 Yeah, that was great.
15:27 That's like a great feeling.
15:29 I think I'm going to start golfing.
15:31 Yeah, he's like annoyingly good at that thing.
15:34 Yeah, he's pretty good at golf.
15:36 Yeah.
15:39 Yep, that's bad.
15:42 Actually, might not be bad.
15:42 not bad, right?
15:44 Your guys' stuff is, I would assume, majority watched on television.
15:48 Or a high percentage is watched on living room TVs, right?
15:51 Yeah, that's where I think like 70% of our viewers come.
15:54 70% of your viewers come from a connected TV.
15:56 And they're probably watching for All right,
15:58 Garrett told us they're watching for 50 minutes on average, right?
16:01 So like They have a little reality TV.
16:03 It's a reality show, right?
16:04 Yeah, they're watching a reality show.
16:05 Pretty much.
16:06 If you watch any of Good Good's videos,
16:08 you'll realize that they are really long.
16:10 Just in the past week, they uploaded over 7 hours worth of video.
16:14 And all of this available time is another one
16:16 of the keys to why Good Good has been so successful.
16:19 In a world where so many videos are being uploaded every single day,
16:22 if you want to build a deep connection with an audience,
16:25 you need to give them more time that they can spend with you.
16:27 It's a large part of the reason that streamers are
16:30 some of the most influential creators on the internet today.
16:33 With that in mind, as we look to the future of what happens on this platform,
16:36 like the obvious thing is it's going to move in the direction of where TV was.
16:40 The Sharpen Samir podcast.
16:42 Samir's so talkative, [laughter] and I guess so is Sharpen.
16:45 So it's like I mean,
16:47 I guess that's a pretty good trait to have for y'all's show.
16:49 One of us has to be, [laughter] like it's a talk show, so.
16:52 And we've got Sharpen, he's our talkative one.
16:54 Yeah, you got to have him.
16:55 I'm I'm the Colin.
16:55 I'm like the editor, right?
16:58 [laughter] Truly, I I just I don't know how I ended up on camera,
17:00 but I don't even know who I I'm just Bobby.
17:02 I come out here and golf, [laughter] dog.
17:03 Yeah, we don't just come and I don't think we have a Bobby.
17:06 When did you get the Good Good tattoo?
17:08 Uh which arm is it on again?
17:09 I probably got this 2 and 1/2 years ago.
17:13 2 years ago, 2 and 1/2 years ago.
17:14 How has Good Good changed your life?
17:16 Like so much so that you got a tattoo on your arm.
17:18 It's changed my life in so many ways.
17:20 I mean, I don't know if you know anything
17:22 about this, but I got sober 7 years ago.
17:24 watched your um like hour-long video.
17:26 I said it during the recording that I got like I
17:28 went down a rabbit hole and ended up on your channel.
17:31 Yes, sir.
17:32 Not the whole thing, but I watched a long part of it.
17:34 I give you a lot of credit for that video, man.
17:36 It's not easy to do stuff like that.
17:37 There were a lot of people I looked to that helped me out through those times
17:40 where I did have some struggles with Tourette's
17:41 and everything around that, then drug and alcohol addiction.
17:44 And I'm like, if those people were lucky enough to give
17:46 me so much light and hope when I was in those points,
17:49 I'm blessed have a platform I can be that person to someone as well.
17:51 The biggest thing for me is after putting my parents
17:53 through all that stuff with drugs and alcohol and everything,
17:55 I just want to make them proud.
17:57 That's the biggest thing Good Good's given me is this platform and everything.
18:00 My parents love that I get to travel the world.
18:01 It makes them proud.
18:02 That's awesome, man.
18:04 Yes, sir.
18:05 That's so cool.
18:05 I appreciate you.
18:06 You guys are like you represented well, man.
18:08 Thank you.
18:08 Like all you guys.
18:09 It's fun to watch.
18:10 Thank you, brother.
18:11 All right, here we go.
18:13 Samir just gave me a look like, "Hey,
18:14 man, I'm trying to make this putt." I mean,
18:16 if they miss, y'all got a chance to tie it up.
18:20 Yeah.
18:20 Unless Samir just drops this again.
18:22 It's okay.
18:27 We Oh, what is that?
18:29 I think it helped you.
18:30 Hate to see it.
18:31 Dang it.
18:31 With those two missed putts,
18:33 this was our chance to tie it up and go to a third hole tiebreaker.
18:36 This one is going to break a little bit to the right again.
18:38 It's downhill.
18:39 It's going to be quick.
18:40 It's going to be very quick, not uphill like last time.
18:42 So don't send this one, okay?
18:47 Uh-oh.
18:47 Do it.
18:48 Do it.
18:50 [screaming]
18:50 Let's go, baby.
18:51 Are you kidding me?
18:51 Let's go.
18:55 Brick.
18:56 What a putt.
18:58 All right.
18:58 All right.
18:58 All right.
18:59 He's calling, baby.
19:00 Wait, we're all square?
19:01 Yeah, we got to finish this out.
19:02 He's figuring out.
19:03 I'm getting worse, he's getting better.
19:05 Yeah.
19:05 I'm proud of you.
19:06 That's a freaking putt.
19:07 Are you kidding me?
19:08 Colin and Samir are making putts out here, man.
19:10 All right.
19:11 All right.
19:11 All right.
19:11 I didn't even know how to celebrate.
19:13 I was like, "How do you do this in golf?" It's good, man.
19:15 You're an athlete.
19:18 Literally.
19:19 Dude, that was classic.
19:20 Which way are you and Samir?
19:21 He made a 9-footer.
19:22 That was like a 25-footer.
19:24 That was wild.
19:25 See what I mean?
19:25 That's like with golf, like when that happens,
19:27 you like that is like you want to come back so much.
19:31 You also You're chasing that just like And you forget you're filming.
19:35 And I think that's the important thing.
19:36 100%.
19:37 Our best episodes of our show are when you totally forget there's cameras on.
19:40 100%.
19:41 Hopefully you guys have made some putts.
19:43 All right.
19:43 So now we're in like real competition.
19:45 Yeah, now now it's like Our last hole.
19:48 All right.
19:48 Everything we've done doesn't matter.
19:50 Yeah.
19:50 Okay?
19:51 Now we got to like lock in it's a par three,
19:54 not very long, the wind's in our face.
19:56 Leg will right there coming in hot.
19:58 Got to lock in.
20:00 This is where the stakes get high.
20:02 This is where the stakes get high.
20:03 Cue the music.
20:06 Bobby, how far did you say it is?
20:07 Uh from these tees it's probably about 120 125.
20:12 we going?
20:13 Right here.
20:14 Right there?
20:15 Yeah.
20:15 Samir's looking out here like What kind of course is this?
20:19 I'm just trying to get there.
20:20 Yep.
20:21 You guys got honors.
20:22 It's like mini golf.
20:23 Sometimes the par three is the hard ones though.
20:25 This is mini golf.
20:27 Yeah, for some reason it's more nerve-racking
20:29 when you know you could get it there.
20:30 Yeah.
20:32 Yep.
20:32 Okay.
20:35 This guy can swing it.
20:37 He can.
20:38 Great shot.
20:40 Your swing this generally Wow.
20:42 just super impressive.
20:43 swinging.
20:44 He is just getting better.
20:45 yeah, I'm getting better by the second here.
20:47 like that.
20:47 Luckily it's the last one so he's done.
20:50 Honestly I I really think I'm going to start golfing.
20:52 This is so fun.
20:52 How you said you played lacrosse, right?
20:54 Yeah.
20:54 It's the exact same kinetic chain just different plane.
20:57 I did too.
20:57 Yeah.
20:59 [laughter]
21:01 You were the attackman though, right?
21:02 So you just shot.
21:03 So it makes sense.
21:04 scored goals.
21:04 Yeah, exactly.
21:05 All right.
21:06 walked around and did nothing so actually you're
21:08 you know what we're done talking to you.
21:09 Get out of it.
21:11 Wow, calling.
21:12 Be good.
21:13 So that's how hard you're trying to hit it?
21:15 Yeah, it's got to go.
21:17 Let's go.
21:18 What a shot.
21:18 That's a shot.
21:19 god.
21:20 Yeah, that's uh that's what I like to call a golf shot.
21:22 Lot of wind.
21:23 Yeah.
21:24 This shot ain't easy, man.
21:27 Oh, wow that was great contact.
21:30 Okay, let's go on the other way though.
21:31 That's gone though.
21:32 That's gone but it kicked right somehow.
21:34 Yep.
21:34 Yeah, kicked right on that hill anybody.
21:36 All right, no pressure Sharf.
21:37 Let's go.
21:38 Great swing.
21:42 Sit down.
21:43 Sit.
21:44 Hit a brick house.
21:47 Sorry Samir.
21:48 Ooh, I listen.
21:50 back.
21:50 We're good.
21:50 We're good.
21:51 We're good.
21:51 It's all good.
21:54 So here's how it goes, right?
21:55 They they miss, you get a shot.
21:58 We get it we get it they'll make par we get a chance to get up and down.
22:02 Anything could happen, especially today.
22:05 Today something's in the air I can feel it.
22:07 We're not in a great spot.
22:09 Yeah, stand just a little closer to it.
22:11 Yeah, get your feet closer.
22:12 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
22:13 Let's make this man look like a golfer.
22:15 That's okay.
22:16 It didn't count.
22:16 It doesn't count.
22:20 Oh, you just hit behind it, honestly.
22:23 That's okay.
22:25 You just hit behind it.
22:26 I think that would have actually went in the hole.
22:27 That would have gone in the WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING AT?
22:29 HUH?
22:29 That would have gone in the hole.
22:30 Yeah.
22:31 Every shot he's hit would have been in.
22:34 Oh my, no.
22:37 Samir, I bricked it up.
22:40 Why did that come out so All right.
22:42 All right, we're good.
22:43 We're still good.
22:44 We could still win.
22:46 Could still technically win if they somehow three putt from there.
22:48 Technically we could still win.
22:49 If they three putt from there.
22:51 Got to drain it.
22:52 Yep.
22:52 Just think about hole one, baby.
22:57 Think about hole one.
22:57 SIT HIT THE HOLE.
23:01 WOW.
23:02 WHAT A PUTT, DUDE.
23:03 That was tough to watch.
23:04 Don't do it, Sharf.
23:06 They don't want me to do it.
23:12 Oh my.
23:13 Dang it, I got scared of you hitting it long and I
23:15 got scared of hitting it and now I got scared of everything.
23:21 Stay up.
23:25 Stay up.
23:27 Wow.
23:28 Great putt.
23:29 Are we still in the game?
23:29 No, they won.
23:30 We're not in the game.
23:31 No, they they're I mean they have to tap in for par and we lose.
23:34 But they haven't tapped it in yet.
23:36 I mean if they miss that I'm just saying they haven't like how are
23:38 we so sure that they're going to make it?
23:42 All right.
23:42 Now the game's over.
23:43 Everybody good?
23:44 All right.
23:44 It's over.
23:44 It's over now.
23:45 Everybody good?
23:46 Gosh, dang it.
23:47 The last reason that Good Good has been so successful [music] has
23:50 to do with their business and what we call content product fit.
23:54 It means that all of the products that they sell
23:56 to their audience integrate seamlessly into all of their videos.
24:00 And their apparel and equipment line has become incredibly successful.
24:04 Most importantly, it has allowed them
24:05 to decouple their views from their revenue.
24:08 So they don't have to reach a ton of people,
24:10 they just have to reach the right people.
24:12 And they can focus on serving their audience rather than serving the algorithm.
24:17 Show's how you wrap up a Good Good.
24:18 All right.
24:18 Well, that's going to wrap up the video.
24:20 Hopefully you guys did enjoy that.
24:21 That was honestly a lot of fun.
24:22 Honestly having Colin and Samir out here playing it was a lot of fun.
24:25 Colin and Colin did take the dub.
24:28 Almost had back-to-back birdies so that was really fun to watch.
24:30 Samir, he drained a birdie putt out there as well.
24:32 We were close.
24:33 We were close.
24:34 But yet we lost and now we have to sit with that for the rest of our lives.
24:37 Do you understand me?
24:38 That's right.
24:39 So we play again?
24:39 That's how we play again.
24:40 But seriously that was Yeah.
24:42 Rematch coming soon.
24:43 Maybe some more holes, a lot of fun.
24:44 Colin, Samir, you guys are awesome.
24:46 Hope you guys did enjoy.
