0:21 And obviously we had two first round rookies and we had later rounds than that.

0:25 We had only one on day two probably doesn't factor in too much.

0:29 Keaontay Ingram to the in the running back rankings but let's hear

0:32 from Jamie and see where Jeremiah Love with the Arizona Cardinals ended up.

0:35 We'll start with that.

0:36 Where's Jeremiah Love?

0:38 Right now he's 14.

0:39 We'll see if there's any personnel changes in Arizona that could

0:42 bump him up a spot or two but I think I

0:45 mentioned this on the full length episode on Thursday like you

0:47 get to that really second half of the top 12 guys.

0:51 So let's just say we'll extend it to the top 15 guys.

0:55 You get to that group and I think it's it's going to be jumbled.

0:58 It's going to be all the guys drafted in similar

1:01 range and we're talking about really kind of post James Cook,

1:05 post Chase Brown, post for me Devon Achane.

1:08 So that group of Ashton Jeanty, Cam Akers, Raheem Mostert,

1:10 Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, Kenneth Walker, Derrick Henry and Jeremiah Love.

1:16 You want to put Kyren Williams in there too.

1:17 He's he's at 15 for me.

1:19 As we saw in our mock draft if you watched or listened to Tuesday's

1:23 episode and the the story on the draft is on the site cbssports.com.

1:27 Those guys all went late round two or early round

1:30 three and I think that's the range for these guys.

1:31 So I'm excited about Love.

1:33 You know it I think it should be a little bit

1:36 of a cautionary tale to get over excited about him because as we

1:39 saw with Bijan Robinson who was a very touted profile touted running

1:43 back coming out of college with a great profile very similar to Love.

1:46 Same thing last year with Ashton Jeanty.

1:48 Like these guys don't necessarily either A get

1:51 the workload that we hope for or B

1:53 end up in the great situation that we see because of just the team around them.

1:57 And so I think with Love there should

1:59 be if everything stays the same competition for targets.

2:02 It's not going to be a great team.

2:04 There are a lot of mouths to fill not just feed

2:06 not just in the run game but also in the passing game.

2:10 And so I think Love is a borderline number one running back has

2:13 top 10 upside but we've seen the failures of these type of guys before

2:17 specifically Bijan and Jeanty and I think you just want to be a little

2:21 bit more cautious than we were with those two guys on draft day.

2:24 Yeah let's see.

2:24 So Bijan Robinson averaged about 15.7 PPR fantasy points per game

2:30 as a rookie if you take out that game the migraine game, right?

2:36 So the games that he actually played basically 15.7 so

2:39 that would have made him right around RB 11 per game.

2:43 Let's see what Jeanty averaged last year.

2:45 Jeanty was at 14.5 PPR fantasy points per game which made him RB 15 per game.

2:52 So that's the kind of player that would be drafted around

2:54 the two three turn I would say just in in retrospect.

2:57 If you knew they were going to average say around 15 fantasy points be

3:01 a borderline top 12 guy you'd probably be looking in the two three turn range.

3:07 Yeah certainly he could do better than that because a lot of the top 10 picks

3:11 at running back have been much better than

3:13 that but you know obviously it doesn't always work out.

3:17 How about Kendre Miller?

3:18 How about Kendre Miller?

3:19 So I I struggle with him a little bit just because I like the fit.

3:23 I like the situation.

3:24 I think it could be great if Zach Charbonnet is going

3:26 to miss the majority of the season which is what it seems like.

3:28 So this could change depending on the reports we get once training camp starts.

3:32 But if you're going on the assumption that Charbonnet

3:33 is going to miss a significant portion of the season

3:35 maybe the first half then I think Price belongs

3:38 in the early 20s as a solid number two running back.

3:41 So for me it's after that group of Cam Akers and Breece Hall,

3:47 D'Andre Swift, Kendre Miller, he's in that next group of running backs.

3:52 I think I have him at 22.

3:54 Right before David Montgomery and Roschon

3:59 Johnson and Tony Pollard and Chuba Hubbard.

4:01 So you kind of get the range of guys that you know

4:04 at least for right now feel like they're going to be starters.

4:06 Feel like they're going to be workhorses.

4:07 Feel like they're going to get you know good opportunities.

4:11 I mean Price could be amazing just because you're you're

4:13 removing Kenneth Walker and whatever you know of Zach Charbonnet.

4:16 That's over 400 vacated touches and so his profile

4:20 with a lack of receptions at Notre Dame is a little concerning.

4:24 And I think we'll still see multiple running backs

4:25 used even though it's no longer Clint Kubiak calling plays.

4:28 It's going to be I forget his name but the run game

4:31 coordinator from San Francisco who's got an opportunity to you know sort

4:35 of reshape this offense and and maybe reshape the backfield maybe have

4:38 more of a feature guy but I like the situation for Price.

4:41 So you know he went around six in the latest mock draft that we did.

4:45 I was picking on the end with the number one overall pick.

4:47 If I was in the middle I probably would have taken him in that round five range.

4:50 I just think that that's a good spot to target somebody like him

4:53 because the upside could be great and again if we get reports in August

4:56 that Charbonnet is going to miss even more time like we don't see

4:59 him till November that could be a round four potentially even round three pick.

5:02 I think round three would be too soon but I

5:04 could see round four and still be okay with it.

5:06 Yeah given the stat before recently so apologies

5:10 for being a broken record but over the last 11

5:12 seasons 15 running backs drafted in the first round

5:15 not including Travis Etienne who missed his entire rookie season.

5:19 13 of those 15 running backs averaged 15.5 or more touches per game.

5:26 Do you think Kendre Miller will get to 15.5 touches per game?

5:29 I do.

5:29 Okay.

5:30 All right.

5:34 drafted in last week's draft had any shakeup at all in the rankings.

5:42 So did the running backs drafted after

5:45 the first round change your rankings in any way?

5:48 Not dramatically.

5:50 Little bit concerned about the Denver guys because

5:52 I think Jamaal Williams could have a role.

5:54 That was reported in The Athletic.

5:56 You read that report on one of our shows that he could

5:58 be a guy that works at the goal line and gets some touchdowns.

6:01 So it was it was said short yardage.

6:04 I feel I know that goal line is technically short yardage is

6:07 short yardage but I don't think the report actually said goal line.

6:10 I don't So short yardage opportunities

6:12 that could potentially be touchdown opportunities.

6:15 That could just be annoying because you know

6:16 Sean Payton not afraid to use multiple running backs.

6:19 Really though it wasn't so much about the rookies

6:21 ending up in in spots that could be concerning.

6:24 You know like I think Mike Washington going to Las Vegas last season if

6:29 I have it correctly there were 41

6:31 combined carries for non-Ashton Jeanty running backs.

6:37 That's amazing.

6:38 guy was Raheem Mostert with 22.

6:41 So now you're talking about who I think is a decent running back in this class.

6:45 Again we know this class isn't great but a decent running back in this class.

6:49 And so that's something to keep an eye on there

6:52 especially since it is Clint Kubiak who was very

6:55 prone to using multiple running backs in Seattle when he

6:57 had two good ones in Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet.

7:01 So that's something to keep an eye on there.

7:02 Dan talked about this on our full length episode on Thursday not

7:05 that it's going to scare me but something to keep an eye on there.

7:07 Emari Demercado another good you know running

7:08 back in this class going to Kansas City.

7:10 Could he have the Kareem Hunt role?

7:12 That could be something to keep an eye on there.

7:13 Really though Adam it was more about who didn't

7:15 get competition and Roschon Johnson did not get competition.

7:18 So I think that's a great situation for him.

7:20 I think the fact that Chuba Hubbard did not get competition.

7:23 That's great for him and and also Jonathan Brooks

7:25 who we know had a positive injury update this week.

7:28 I think you also look at at least for now.

7:30 I know Nicholas Singleton could have

7:31 an opportunity in Tennessee and he's a bigger

7:34 back by comparison to Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears but I think it

7:37 was a good situation for Pollard and even Spears that they didn't get

7:41 Jeremiah Love with the fourth overall pick

7:43 which was a potential destination for Love.

7:46 So a lot of the not a lot but a few of the guys you know benefited.

7:49 Keaontay Ingram another guy you know benefited and I know Keaontay Ingram could

7:52 come in and and maybe be the best running back that they have.

7:55 You know we're talking about a sixth round pick in Ingram versus

7:57 a seventh round pick in Keaontay Ingram and they added a couple of veterans.

8:00 Rachaad White being the more prominent of the two but also Jerome Ford.

8:03 Like that's a backfield you want to keep an eye on.

8:04 Ingram could potentially be one of the better late round steals especially

8:09 if you do your drafts a little bit earlier in the process.

8:12 You know once we get to the middle of camp end of camp we may know who

8:14 the starter is in Washington but that's a spot

8:16 you want to keep an eye on as well.

8:18 Okay.
