I Finally Got A Hair Transplant!!

I Finally Got A Hair Transplant!!

Cole Anderson-James

0:00 It is hair transplant day attempt two and I am outside the Wimpol

0:05 Clinic in Harley Street where I'm going to be fixing up my hairline.

0:09 Now last time it didn't go to plan as we all know.

0:13 I went to Turkey and my blood pressure was low.

0:17 There was a big thing and I had to fly

0:18 back with a worse hairline that I went there with.

0:21 I think I'm just going to just going to brave it.

0:23 When I went into Harley Street to get a consultation,

0:25 I showed him the low blood pressure that I had in Turkey and he went,

0:30 "It wasn't even that low.

0:31 I would have done it." He reckons just cuz I

0:33 was filming that if I did die, it'll be on camera.

0:37 Fair enough.

0:45 How's it going?

0:46 Right, I'm at the old Wimpole Clinic

0:48 with Marie and we're going to do some paperwork,

0:50 sign my life away in case they kill me.

0:53 Nobody's died here.

0:55 Okay, just putting that out there.

0:57 Okay, so we're going to go through some paperwork.

1:00 The paperwork just consents that you're here today

1:03 to have uh felicular unit extraction hair transplant with Dr.

1:08 Akmed Musa.

1:11 Yes.

1:10 Okay.

1:10 And the plan is to lower your hairline and we're going to get 1500 graphs.

1:15 That's what we're going to aim for.

1:16 If we get if we get more,

1:17 we get more depending if it's needed, but that's the plan for the day.

1:21 I've seen people and they got like alien heads.

1:24 Is that going to be me?

1:26 No.

1:26 No.

1:27 I We have never had anyone swell to those sorts of proportions.

1:32 How long does the procedure go on for?

1:33 It can take up to 6 hours.

1:36 Can be a bit Yeah.

1:38 Think of it as a pump a day.

1:39 Yeah.

1:40 Okay.

1:40 Pump a day.

1:41 Just getting massive injections in my hair ripped out my head.

1:43 Okay.

1:44 That is a, you know, fraction of the day.

1:46 We're going to the theater already.

1:48 Yeah.

1:49 Apparently, she's had a hair transplant as well.

1:51 4 months post.

1:52 4 months.

1:52 How long is it?

1:53 Look at her little face.

1:54 Well, yeah, but I've been shaving it cuz I've been Cuz it was annoying me.

1:58 Do you like it?

1:58 Is it worth it?

1:59 It looks so Honestly, we all were questioning it.

2:02 You remember my big forehead?

2:04 It was never big.

2:05 I had a big ready for this.

2:10 I'm mentally I haven't really thought about it.

2:12 Good.

2:13 But I don't know if that is good cuz I did

2:15 that in Turkey and the R and you'll be all gentle with my head.

2:20 I don't want to trick me brain into thinking I'm not scared of needles.

2:23 So I'm not scared of needles.

2:26 I'm not scared of needles.

2:27 Plenty of patients scared of needles.

2:29 Good.

2:29 Yeah, but not like this.

2:30 You haven't seen this before.

2:31 I'm sure it was the first time for everything.

2:33 Don't show me the needle.

2:34 Whatever you do.

2:34 That's the man.

2:35 That's the man who's going to be molding my head.

2:38 So I've been growing this out for 3 months.

2:40 Musa, do you want me to shame this off again?

2:43 Let's draw some lines.

2:46 It's much more relaxing this one.

2:47 I like it.

2:48 It's massive TV screen there.

2:50 You can move around.

2:51 There's no restrictions.

2:53 I can touch everything if I wanted.

2:57 Feel a lot more relaxed right now actually,

2:59 which is it's weird cuz when I chose to go to Turkey,

3:01 I thought I'd be more relaxed in Turkey.

3:03 So, I just thought they got nicer lats.

3:06 Just the way they speak is quite like Well, you got to help transport.

3:10 What do they do with this?

3:11 They just rip it off afterwards cuz obviously they can't take it over my head.

3:14 So, here we go.

3:21 It's for the second time.

3:22 What's my blood pressure like?

3:23 Is it all right?

3:24 Yeah.

3:25 Yeah.

3:25 Is it not too low this time?

3:27 No.

3:28 Fine.

3:29 Blood pressure is fine.

3:29 Heart rate is fine.

3:30 Everything's good.

3:31 There you go.

3:31 I knew it.

3:32 I knew it.

3:32 I knew in Turkey they didn't want to do it for just didn't like me, I think.

3:36 Right.

3:36 Should we draw some lines?

3:37 this water blind.

3:39 What's bothering me?

3:40 Uh, well, so nothing's really bothering me too much.

3:43 Everyone was saying, "Oh, I don't really need one that much,

3:46 right?" But what I'm thinking is drop it.

3:50 Yeah.

3:50 And then just like whatever, across here, you do the magic on it.

3:55 Your main concern is is how deep those angles go.

3:58 That's what's mostly

4:00 and the little vine head I've got going on.

4:02 Okay.

4:06 back.

4:10 Okay.

4:12 So, the same principle of the line drawn at the bottom.

4:14 The hair will overhang it.

4:16 What are your thoughts?

4:17 I think it looks good.

4:19 Oh, there's a like in flection at the end of I extreme that bit that comes back.

4:25 Extreme is it?

4:26 I think cuz that's going to be like coarse hair.

4:28 So, I've gone quite low with it.

4:31 Yeah.

4:30 Musa here.

4:31 He said he ideally want to go a bit higher,

4:34 but because I want it a bit lower, he's adhering to it.

4:38 However, what do we all think then?

4:41 Chris, would you like it this low?

4:42 I I think any higher it would be a bit pointless.

4:45 You see where the dot So there to there.

4:47 That's a big jump.

4:48 That's a big jump.

4:49 Yeah.

4:50 Very very big jump.

4:50 But in terms of reducing foreheading,

4:53 you've you still it's a big it's a big reduction.

4:56 Worst case, if we stay conservative, you think, I wish I'd gone a bit lower.

4:59 You come back every other one and you come down a little bit lower.

5:02 I think that looks quite perfect.

5:04 I think you've done a great job there.

5:07 Personally, you hate it, didn't you?

5:08 I don't hate it.

5:10 Are we doing a full head shave today or we doing shaving wise?

5:12 What do we

5:13 We've already done the forehead shave once again.

5:15 Shave off.

5:16 It's easier to look after it as well.

5:18 Shaved off.

5:19 Best shaving then.

5:31 Okay, it's nearly time.

5:33 Yeah, it's time on with permanent marker now.

5:36 Um, the Bruce Picassi of a male's wife.

5:39 You're a worm.

5:40 I

5:40 actually quite like the look.

5:42 Head look.

5:42 I think it looks quite good.

5:44 Turn it into Look what Marie's giving here.

5:51 Oh, come on.

5:52 Oh, yes.

5:54 You while you're waiting.

5:56 No, she said I could actually have the vibrator on my head,

5:59 but she promised me an industrial size one.

6:02 So, probably not.

6:03 What do you mean?

6:04 Like a better one than the giant one.

6:06 That's the size I've got.

6:10 Oh, yeah.

6:12 I hear my skull cracking.

6:14 That is Who's having that on on your on your bits?

6:17 Awesome.

6:18 Depends what you like.

6:19 At the end of the day,

6:22 honestly, if if you're happy, I'm happy.

6:27 Yeah.

6:26 6 hours this procedure.

6:28 1500 grafts and this is the final result.

6:32 We're about to get the injections.

6:35 I'm not thinking about it.

6:36 I'm just just going to sit there and do it.

6:38 I'm not going to make any noise.

6:40 This is like no reaction challenge.

6:45 Try not to look around cuz I don't want to see any needles.

6:47 Any needles around?

6:49 The yellow ones and the white ones.

6:51 What?

6:54 Uh,

6:55 steroids.

6:57 I'm expecting it to happen up.

7:05 Uh, yeah, definitely ready.

7:08 So, FaceTime, please.

7:11 Oh, this will be fine.

7:12 Yeah, Sophie, you did this, please.

7:14 Yeah, trust me, you would be fine.

7:16 I might tense up.

7:17 It's all right.

7:17 Don't worry.

7:18 Little bit of cleaning before I start.

7:20 So, this will be a little bit cold and wet.

7:22 Oh, well, I'm really Hold on.

7:25 You're just having your head cleaned at the minute.

7:27 Making it worse for yourself overinking it.

7:29 This is not doing anything yet.

7:31 Cleaning cold and wet.

7:31 Yeah.

7:32 Yeah.

7:32 Here we go.

7:35 Tell me when nice music we can play.

7:42 Yeah.

7:42 Or anything.

7:43 It's quite silent.

7:45 Okay.

7:45 So the needle gets a little scratch bother you.

7:48 The anesthetic itself has a little sting when it first goes in.

7:51 Oh,[ __] it.

7:52 It's for a second or so.

7:53 All right.

7:54 Disappear.

7:54 I'm just going to touch the back of your head with the vibration thing.

7:57 You can feel that there.

7:58 Like that.

7:59 Yeah.

7:59 Yeah.

7:59 Go on, mate.

8:01 Do it, son.

8:02 Yeah, boy.

8:03 That's it.

8:04 Okay.

8:05 All right.

8:05 All right.

8:06 That's all right.

8:08 It's actually that one.

8:12 Sorry.

8:12 I'm doing all right.

8:13 I'm doing all right.

8:15 came from.

8:16 Is it?

8:18 Yeah.

8:17 To be fair, it's like a little tattoo and it that little vibrator

8:21 on my head actually makes it's like tricking

8:23 me to think it is a tattoo actually.

8:24 So, it's like ouchies.

8:26 Ouchie.

8:27 You're going to be so proud of yourself after today.

8:30 Yeah, I know.

8:31 Is it getting more done?

8:35 Yeah.

8:37 Explain what you're feeling.

8:43 Cuz I don't know what he's doing,

8:44 but I know he's doing something that I wouldn't like to watch.

8:47 That's what's getting to me.

8:49 So completely numb like a champ.

8:51 I tell you what, that vibration thing helped so much cuz it it

8:56 was like I was getting a tattoo cuz tattoos they hurt a little bit,

9:00 but it's just like it was over and over.

9:02 Actually hurt more than that tattoo, but the sensation was exactly the same.

9:06 Marie, what do you think about the hairline?

9:08 Got them really low.

9:09 Too low?

9:10 No, it's trust me.

9:13 Yeah, now Mr.

9:16 Moose is coming back and he's going to jab me in the bloody cranium.

9:20 Sophie says I'll be all right.

9:22 So, how many photog you got out of me at the moment?

9:26 No, more.

9:27 1,450.

9:28 And more than 50.

9:30 No, no, because we're cutting We're cutting 350.

9:32 So, you're going to have 1,800.

9:34 Look, look in here.

9:37 You see this is a two.

9:39 You see that's a two.

9:40 See it?

9:42 So, am I halfway through?

9:50 Brilliant.

9:49 Why don't we put cold mesh on?

9:53 Don't say ready for pain again cuz that's not nice, is it?

9:56 Maybe harder on the vibrations.

10:00 Yeah, it's in me.

10:01 We're in.

10:03 Yeah, we're in again.

10:05 And again.

10:06 Fill every inch of that bloody needle.

10:09 Yours, mus.

10:10 Can't get out of it.

10:11 I can't handle this.

10:12 You look like it's not even that

10:14 sweating on this one.

10:16 Oh,

10:17 what do you think it feels like?

10:18 Tell everyone for YouTube.

10:21 The pain out of 10 right now for the injection is Oh god.

10:26 Maybe eight.

10:28 I've had three people enjoy

10:31 enjoy it.

10:32 Was it actually worse?

10:33 It was actually It was worse than it was than in the back.

10:37 Yeah.

10:40 Really?

10:40 We can go home if you want.

10:47 Oh, that noise is crazy.

10:50 What does it sound like?

10:51 Oh, you know when you do like you poke like into felt.

10:54 Those felt things you do with the needles.

10:56 Oh, needle felting.

10:59 How deep are these slits then?

11:00 Like about 3 or 4 mm.

11:03 I'm not good with measurements, but I imagine that's quite small.

11:06 Go on, show me the blade.

11:09 Oh, absolutely.

11:10 Fine.

11:11 Doing this lovely temple area, which is really quite hard to do,

11:15 is it?

11:15 Um, it's not so straightforward.

11:17 We want the hairs to lay a little bit flat.

11:19 So, got to go in a more flatter angle to make these look natural.

11:24 For this part, we're putting the follules in.

11:26 This is the main business end of the procedure.

11:30 So, what Mer has told me is I've got to shut up for this part.

11:33 Basically, he's he he slapped me and he said, "Shut up." Um because basically,

11:40 if I talk, my head moves.

11:42 Is it going?

11:44 My god, you guys are quick.

11:47 Sorry.

11:53 I have completed the first part of the surgery.

11:58 Soon as you get over the injections, you're calm.

12:00 It's actually relaxing to a degree.

12:04 There's currently three people working on my head.

12:07 Very talented humans and they're inserting all

12:11 my previous hair follicules into my head.

12:17 Doing good.

12:18 Yeah, I'm doing brilliantly.

12:19 It looks really cool.

12:20 Does it?

12:21 You look like um kind of like a cactus.

12:24 A cactus.

12:25 So these white thing, ladies and gentlemen, is my skin.

12:28 The little black follicules at the bottom implanted

12:32 and then I'm I don't know what happens from there.

12:39 So guys, what I'm going to do,

12:40 I think I'm going to sleep on the sofa tonight because I have to sleep upright.

12:46 TV slow.

12:47 I am very forgetful and stupid.

12:49 It's autopilot movement, but also you might, you know,

12:52 scratch your head or do something that you

12:54 always do that you don't realize you do often.

12:57 And it's that

12:57 no sexual activity under any circumstances.

13:02 What?

13:03 Woohoo.

13:03 I'm not very good at that thing anyway.

13:05 Well, how long for

13:07 two years?

13:07 A month.

13:08 Two years.

13:09 And what you've written true now is normally

13:11 when like put moisturizer and stuff on your head, your forehead is now smaller.

13:16 What does that mean?

13:17 So, don't think that you're moisturizing now.

13:19 Oh, yeah.

13:19 I'll be moisturizing at the back of my head.

13:21 No.

13:21 No.

13:21 Don't put your hand up there.

13:24 I'm not that stupid.

13:25 You're numb.

13:26 Trust me, people.

13:27 Oh, really?

13:27 The very last craft.

13:29 The last craft.

13:30 Oh my god.

13:31 I had a force up in your head there.

13:32 Oh my god.

13:33 I'm sorry.

13:34 We did it.

13:39 Now it's starting to get like a dull ache.

13:43 Ache.

13:43 Yeah.

13:43 What is that?

13:44 You would take the proceeds and that will go.

13:46 Just say this.

13:47 The front of your head has been stabbed 1,900 times

13:51 and then we've restabed you 1,900 times to put them in.

13:55 You've done what to me.

13:56 Oh, I can get up.

13:58 Yeah.

13:57 Oh my god.

13:58 To look here.

14:00 Yes, I'm alive.

14:02 You have to go really steady.

14:04 If anything goes wrong to mess this up,

14:06 it's going to be a complete waste of time.

14:08 You have to go through that whole thing again.

14:10 I just leave it.

14:11 I'm not doing it again.

14:15 Okay, I've awoken and it's my first morning with my new hair.

14:19 Not swollen at all.

14:20 I slept with a neck pillow upright on my sofa.

14:22 It was actually well easy.

14:23 I actually slept my contacts in and I didn't brush my teeth.

14:25 So, I was pretty zoked.

14:27 But now, apparently I have to spray

14:29 this on my head every hour for the next few days.

14:33 I believe I wasn't really listening to this bit.

14:35 So, make sure you guys listen if you

14:36 get your hair transplant because I don't do that.

14:38 Luckily, I've got a qualified nurse.

14:42 It's like I'm a little plant.

14:43 So, what this solution is is saline.

14:45 I think it's just um water and salt or something.

14:48 I don't know.

14:49 It's like sterile.

14:52 Yeah.

14:52 I was scared that I was going to be rolling

14:55 about freshing them off cuz sometimes every every now and then,

14:59 probably every 6 weeks, without fail,

15:02 I'll wake up with a scratch on my nose or here.

15:05 And obviously in my sleep, I've just gone and ripped my nose off.

15:10 Luckily, that didn't happen here.

15:11 I would recommend you sleeping on the sofa cuz it really did help.

15:14 I was literally like embedded in the corner of the sofa.

15:16 Snuggled up.

15:17 I couldn't really move my head, but I feel fine.

15:21 If you have your head down like this, all the fluid that they

15:26 inject into your head can roll down to your nose and enlarge your nose.

15:30 So, I don't want to be looking at the floor,

15:31 but if I don't look at the floor, I might trip up and die.

15:34 Sort of a catch 22.

15:39 It was a bit itchy today on this side

15:42 last night and I actually did clip it accidentally briefly,

15:46 but it was it's all right.

15:47 So, what I've got here some greens and some ginger,

15:50 turmeric and all that bollocks.

15:52 I like to keep healthy and the healthier you are, the better the recovery.

16:00 This has been the easiest thing ever.

16:01 All it is is remembering not to bang your head,

16:04 which luckily I haven't done at the moment.

16:05 Okay, I'm awake.

16:06 It is day three where the swelling is supposed

16:10 to occur on the third day they said to me.

16:13 Although no real swelling has happened.

16:17 It's actually quite nice having a a break from doing anything.

16:20 I I don't have to go out.

16:21 I can just sit around chilling wanking.

16:24 No, you're not actually not actually allowed to wank.

16:26 Every day I've been eating so clear.

16:28 I eat clean anyway, but you know your diet is what recovers you.

16:33 So what I've been advised to do is have this predisolone every day.

16:37 Eight tablets in the first day, six on the second, four on the third.

16:43 So four of these today.

16:44 I don't know.

16:45 I think they reduce swelling.

16:49 The scabs grow on your head and fall out after about 7 to 10 days.

16:53 Then after about 3 weeks, you can wear a hat,

16:56 but I probably won't do that anyway.

16:58 And then your hair sheds in your hand after about 2 months.

17:02 So you get all this growth, this much growth,

17:04 and you're like, "Oh, it's buzzing." And then it falls out.

17:06 So don't be alarmed.

17:08 Apparently, your your head can actually reject a hair transplant.

17:12 But it's not doing that.

17:14 It's just falling out and shedding.

17:16 And then that is when it'll start growing for real.

17:19 And then you'll have lovely, luscious hair.

17:21 So hopefully in about 2 months, I might keep it this length anyway.

17:25 I don't know cuz I think I look like a little hard nut, like Jason Staithm.

17:30 Day seven, a week since my procedure, and this is what it looks like.

17:36 I'm going to have to put shampoo on there, I think.

17:38 Leave it for 15 minutes, pour water over it,

17:41 and then shampoo again, and try and massage my hair.

17:44 Try and massage the scabs off.

17:47 Okay, foam me up.

17:49 Do my eye.

17:50 All right, I'm going to leave this on for 15

17:52 minutes just to loosen the old scabos.

18:00 rub shampoo onto the area.

18:02 You want to massage it just enough that for the next

18:07 3 days of doing this wash, the scabs come off.

18:12 Right.

18:15 I have shampoo in my eye.

18:22 Oh, I can feel them coming off my head.

18:23 I feel Can I Yeah, we got scabbage.

18:33 Eight days post operation and as you can see the scabs have gone.

18:40 I've I've done my other my my wash again.

18:42 It's looking good.

18:44 I've got a new hairline in 8 days.

18:46 In about a month's time, it will shed,

18:49 but the little follicules will still remain in my head.

18:52 And then it starts growing from there.

18:54 And then I think that's literally it.

18:57 If you think about getting a hair transplant,

18:59 I would advise it if you need it because I'm happy with this.

19:03 Wimpole Clinic was great.

19:05 It cost about £5,000 for 1,500 grafts.

19:08 Little peace of mind for you that it was good.

19:12 Like if this was good for you.

19:14 Hi.
