0:11 So this is very interesting.

0:12 It's very pretty game.

0:13 It has fantastic pixel art and we are a dude with a sword.

0:17 There's many different kinds of dudes we can be,

0:18 but we're playing this sort of match three deck

0:20 builder thing in this as we sort of progress.

0:24 Let me explain it.

0:25 Let me play it and it'll kind of make sense as as we get into this.

0:28 So, we are the phoenix.

0:30 When we die, we get to revive in legendary form.

0:32 I should play games every time when I die,

0:34 I get to come back as is my legendary form.

0:37 That would give me so if I died,

0:39 I can say that I died on purpose so I can show you what happened.

0:44 Let's go to the forge and do some hacking

0:46 and slashing and tile switching around and all that stuff.

0:49 So, we're at the forge first.

0:50 This is not going to be very helpful

0:50 right now because you don't know what's going on.

0:52 Um, I will take Can I have both of these for each Lightroom?

1:02 Yeah, this won't make any sense,

1:04 but it'll make sense now as we get into the battle.

1:06 Now I can tell you what's going on.

1:09 So, uh, we are just one fella,

1:10 and we're going to fight against a bunch of folks.

1:11 We're going to select our card.

1:12 This is deck building, right?

1:13 It's not cards, but they're tiles or whatever we want to call them.

1:16 And each of these do different things,

1:17 whether they give me shields or they give me

1:18 attack or they attack all things or they whatever.

1:21 And uh, if we can have a minimum of 20 cards.

1:24 If you want more of those, you get bonuses for that.

1:26 But we just have 20 cuz it's just me and a thug right now.

1:31 So we have three actions.

1:32 We got 60 hit points.

1:33 Those 60 hit points are going to stick with us.

1:35 So if we take damage,

1:36 don't take a lot of damage cuz it's going to stick with you.

1:38 Uh we have three action points per round and we have three energy and five fate.

1:43 We'll explain that fate in a minute.

1:44 But my hand is this little block of tiles over there.

1:49 This is kind of a unique system.

1:50 I've played a bunch of deck builder things and this one's different.

1:53 Um, so we can use my hand, my active hand is this right side right here.

2:01 And I bought my granddad a uh a snowboard for Christmas this year.

2:05 He's been going downhill ever since.

2:09 I may have told that one before.

2:10 That's a bit of a classic, you know,

2:12 for the I got to keep the classics in there every once in a while.

2:15 Uh, each of these cards, we can play one of these cards.

2:17 That's one of our actions.

2:18 Play a card.

2:18 So, for instance, shadowbound.

2:21 Uh, deal one damage for each dark rune on my grid.

2:23 There's a lot of dark runes on my grid.

2:24 Eight of them, as a matter of matter, as a matter of fact.

2:26 So, we're going to go ahead and do it.

2:28 Love ammo.

2:29 He's going to hit him for eight damage.

2:30 He's got two shield there.

2:31 He also has 10 attack.

2:33 He's going to do back at me.

2:34 He's also tough as nails.

2:36 If I play a dark rune on him, he's going to get plus two shields after.

2:38 Oh, he got plus two because I hit him with dark rune.

2:40 Um, now this is this is this is sort of ordinary stuff.

2:45 We've seen this kind of stuff before.

2:47 We're going to do it again.

2:48 Uh, take that.

2:51 Uh, so now we got a couple of these lined up.

2:52 Let's just use a shield here and give myself Oh, I can do this one.

2:55 Give one shield for each light rune on my grid.

2:57 I'm just going to take the old classic old shield.

2:59 Well, he's going to hit me for 10.

3:02 Um, I'm going to shield up myself.

3:07 And so, we can pass the turn.

3:08 Now, I haven't tal talked about fate, and that's where this game gets weird.

3:13 And I'm going to I'm going to hold off and hold the weird till next turn.

3:17 So he hits me.

3:18 I blocked five of it.

3:19 I took five damage.

3:20 Three uh shield reset each time, of course.

3:23 So now we're going to use our sword to attack.

3:27 Five damage.

3:29 And we're going to do a little a little fate swapping around.

3:33 So all this stuff that's back here, we got to be kind of mindful of.

3:37 Um this is a this is a cool one.

3:39 Deal five damage to all enemies.

3:41 Um we have this perk that we can do because we're this guy.

3:46 We can use our fate to swap things around.

3:48 So, we can say, let's swap this one over here.

3:50 If you played a match three game, we know what we're looking at here.

3:52 So, that use my one my fate to move that card around.

3:54 Now, we're going to take this one over here.

3:55 We're going to match three.

3:56 Now, because we match three, I gain we did two of them in a row there.

4:00 Exciting.

4:01 Uh, we gained three orbs.

4:02 We also did three damage to the guy and we got

4:04 three shield because that is what I do as the Phoenix.

4:07 So, every time I match get a match bonus, I get three damage to enemy,

4:10 three gain shields, and three orbs every time we do that.

4:13 And we can use those to sort of shimmy things around if we want.

4:17 Um, I think we're also supposed to be mindful of what our hand

4:20 is at because it's going to stick with us throughout the thing.

4:22 But, uh, for right now, we're just going to hit things again.

4:25 Uh, gain a shield.

4:26 I can get seven shields right there.

4:27 That also line up two shields.

4:30 Um, should I just hit him?

4:31 I'm just going to kill the guy.

4:33 There we go.

4:37 I got myself some orbs.

4:38 Orbs are cash.

4:39 We use those to buy things.

4:40 And I can choose something new.

4:42 I get an infused berry.

4:43 This is a new card.

4:43 A new I'm going to call them tiles cuz when I

4:45 say the word card people in YouTube, they get so mad.

4:50 Tiles.

4:51 They love tiles in YouTube though.

4:53 But cards don't get them started.

4:55 We can choose now to get a new tile.

4:58 And we can gain this is a new card.

5:01 I almost called it a card after all my little new tile.

5:06 Uh we can gain six shields.

5:08 We can do if it's the first rune played this turn.

5:10 Oh, we'll call them runes.

5:11 How about that?

5:12 We get 10 shields instead.

5:13 That's exciting.

5:14 We can scorch on your grid.

5:16 While it's on the grid, anywhere on the grid,

5:18 at the end of my turn, I get a burn on a random enemy.

5:21 Or we can just do two damage.

5:22 I like the ones that stick around cuz as long

5:24 as it's in my grid, then it it works.

5:27 As long as it's on the board.

5:28 It doesn't have to be on the first one.

5:29 Just as long as on the board.

5:31 I don't have a lot of cash, so I can't really do much at the shop.

5:33 We can go look at this at the scribe and duplicate a rune.

7:30 And for each corruption bane on my grid, he's he's going to add those in there.

7:35 Two damage each time you play a dark rune.

7:36 So he's that's a thing that he can do.

7:39 And she's doing something at the moment.

18:40 So this is I think this is like our path that we're going through.

18:43 So we can choose at this point to go either to a nexus or to a temple.

18:47 Temple is going to heal us.

18:48 Nexus is going to give us a rune augment.

18:51 Um and then it goes to a battle.

18:53 So it's just showing us the the typical rogue light progression thing.

18:57 You know, I got to heal.

18:59 I'm low.

19:02 So let's go have a chat with the temple.

19:44 When it reaches zero, the enemy performs a powerful cyclone attack.

19:47 We're going to use So light things we don't want so much.

19:53 It'd be a lot easier to get these to get these matches,

19:55 I think, if we don't have any of these.
