3:49 IU football of all teams winning the national championship.

3:52 Now the Cubs have won 18 of 21 with all these wins.

3:55 If you're a fair-weather fan, you don't get to truly experience the lows.

3:58 That doesn't give you an appreciation for these types of highs.

4:03 Anyway, I guess I'll get to my play now.

4:05 That's a Hey, that's a really cool way to say that because

4:08 a lot of people check out when things are going poorly.

4:11 And honestly, that that's not the way to do it.

4:13 If you're a true fan, we all know this.

4:18 And I just think from an emotional standpoint those highs, to your point,

4:46 Honestly, it doesn't much matter.

4:47 The Cubs offense is humming right now.

4:49 And they can beat you from any part of the lineup right now.

4:55 Look at the the ninth inning last night.

4:56 It was the bottom of the order.

4:57 Carson Kelly gets a single.

4:59 Pete Crow-Armstrong, who is batting ninth, hits a game-tying home run.

5:54 of the Rays converting to a starting pitcher,

5:56 so he's not going to go very deep into the game,

5:58 which means they'll have to get uh into the underbelly of their bullpen,

6:05 On the other side, Jake Bennett, Red Sox rookie,

7:52 It's just bound to happen.

7:53 And there's two titles on the line.

7:55 In that UFC 328 preview show we go through a lot of our favorite picks,

7:59 not only money lines, but props, parlays, underdogs we like.

8:02 So, you're going to get selections throughout the card.

8:04 And man, it's loaded with bangers.

8:05 Not only is the middleweight title and the flyweight

8:07 title up for grabs in the main and co-main,

8:09 but maybe one of the best prelims I've ever seen in my life is on the undercard,

8:13 and Alvarez versus Amosov.

8:15 There's going to be violence throughout,

8:16 and this is not a card you want to miss.

8:17 I'm super fired up for it, see you.

8:19 A lot of plus money value I'm attacking, too.

8:22 Uh would that plus money value by any chance

8:24 involve the Chimaev and Strickland fight, or not necessarily?

8:27 I'm just curious.

8:28 Not necessarily.

8:29 I know a lot of people are going to want to take that Strickland dog shot.

8:32 I think the odds are wide.

8:33 I will talk about that fight a little more,

8:35 but the market has Chimaev, you know, as a massive favorite for a reason.

8:38 And you know, we we do assume the fight's going to hit the ground.

8:41 It's just a matter of what happens once it does,

8:43 and then the odds will drastically flip once we see that reaction.

8:47 So, really excited see it.

8:48 It's a very anticipated one.

8:52 Larry, I'm going to go to you next, and and I do want to say that Tom,

8:55 you are here with an MLB pick, but you also can handle some NHL questions.

9:00 I think we just have the one playoff game tonight.

9:04 But Larry, let's go back to the NBA.

9:06 You've got a couple of props for us.

9:08 Yeah, starting with Cavs-Pistons.

9:10 Max Strus missed most of the season,

9:12 but came back and looked good, shot over 40% from beyond the arc.

9:16 And now with Sam Merrill dealing with the hamstring injury,

9:20 I am betting that he does not play.

9:21 Had an MRI, did not practice yesterday.

9:24 This is the same issue that caused him to miss games in March and April.

9:29 So, assuming that Merrill sits, or even if he doesn't sit,

9:33 I already bet Max Strus over 15 and a half points, rebounds, and assists.

9:37 What did he do in game one?

9:38 19 points, five rebounds, two assists, shot the ball well.

9:42 This is the one thing that the Pistons will give up.

9:45 They will give up some threes, and without Sam Merrill,

9:48 that's going to fall to Max Strus.

9:50 I mean, Jaylen Tyson, his role should increase as a defender of Cade Cunningham,

9:55 but Max Strus getting, you know, he got 28 minutes in game one.

9:58 If he gets 25-plus minutes,

10:01 I love him to go over this combo line in a, you know,

10:04 pretty much a must-win spot for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

10:08 And then, in the late game, um, you know,

10:11 this game doesn't have a lot of interest, not a lot of intrigue.

10:14 We know OKC is winning.

10:15 The question is, is it going to be 4-0 or 4-1?

10:18 One total mismatch is Chet Holmgren.

10:20 I mean, game one, he did whatever he wanted offensively.

10:23 He was all over the boards, 24 and 12.

10:26 Actually, two straight games with 24 and 12.

10:29 Uh, I just played him over eight and a half boards.

10:31 I'm not sure he's going to shoot as well as he did from the outside.

10:35 he's going to get some dunks.

10:36 I know he's going to get some layups.

10:37 I just stuck to the rebounds, but I also like points and rebounds because

10:40 he is a complete mismatch for the Lakers.

10:44 And I don't think the Lakers are going to shoot well.

10:46 I mean, maybe Austin Reaves doesn't go three for 16, or whatever he did,

10:50 again, but as a whole, they're going to struggle to score.

10:53 That means missed shots.

10:54 That means rebounds over eight and a half for Chet Holmgren.

13:21 I'm going to give you their method of victories.

13:22 Let's start with Grant Dawson on the prelims here.

13:25 He opened about closer to minus 200.

13:27 The line's coming down.

13:28 I'll bite now because Dawson I think has the clear wrestling advantage.

13:32 That's what he does.

13:33 He's an elite grappler training out of American

13:34 Top Team and he's facing a former teammate,

13:37 guy that's I don't think is with ATT anymore but his opponent Mateusz Rebecki is

13:41 coming off a loss to another teammate

13:43 in Chris Duncan where Duncan pieced him up bad.

13:45 And the thing about Rebecki is he can weaponize his pace.

13:48 He can make the fight crazy and turn it into a brawl,

13:50 maybe drown you but he's taking so much damage.

13:54 He's one and three last four fights and even

13:56 in his win he is bloodied up something bad.

13:58 This guy's always going to the hospital after fights.

14:01 I just worry that he can't fight behind that style

14:03 anymore and a guy like Dawson has nasty ground and pound.

14:06 I think if he's able to get the fight to the floor,

14:08 which I very much think he will, he can land some shots,

14:11 maybe open up a cut on Rebecki and just make things tough for him.

14:14 Rebecki almost pulled off a win in his last fight.

14:17 You'll see a majority decision on the on the Tapology record

14:20 but it was because his opponent broke his ankle in the final round.

14:23 He was up two rounds.

14:24 He just survived.

14:25 He couldn't get up.

14:26 So I'm thinking that Rebecki is going to be out matched here.

14:29 He can't knock Grant Dawson out with just one clean punch and he's

14:32 going to get grappled and he's going to get ground and pounded.

14:34 I'll give you a method as well at the end of this take but I'm also looking

14:38 forward to a heavyweight banger on the main card

14:40 and I'm back in the resurgence of Alexander Volkov.

14:43 Line coming down on him as well.

14:45 I was ready to back him at minus 185.

14:47 I'll take minus 148 all day because

14:49 I just think he's the sharper kickboxer here.

14:51 He's facing a surging guy in Waldo Cortez

14:53 Acosta that's now 10 and two in the UFC,

14:56 has really just excited the heavyweight division.

14:58 Look like a guy with something, you know, for these guys.

15:00 He's knocking out a lot of opponents but none of them have had the defense,

15:04 have had the striking caliber and experience of Alexander Volkov.

15:07 You look at guys like Derrick Lewis, Shamil Gaziev, you know,

15:10 they don't have the ability to move

15:13 and the savvy to control range like Volkov does.

15:16 Waldo is a primary boxer.

15:17 He's improved his overall MMA game

15:19 but we You Volkov now adding grappling skills, you know, into his mix.

15:23 I felt that he won that split decision loss over Ciryl Gane.

15:26 And if not for that, Volkov would be on the doorstep of a title shot.

15:29 So, he won a split in his next one.

15:31 Looks like the UFC kind of did him a favor to get him back in a good spot.

15:34 I think stylistically, he's just his his experience,

15:37 his range management, and his kickboxing style wins this fight out.

15:40 So, bonus bets, guys.

15:41 I think Volkov outpoints Waldo to a decision.

15:43 Waldo's had a lot of fights in the last 15 months.

15:46 I think this will be his seventh fight.

15:48 And although he's very tough, that schedule take a toll.

15:50 I think he lasted the final bell, but give me Volkov by decision at +130.

15:54 And in the previous fight, guys,

15:55 I talked about how much damage that Rebecqui takes.

15:57 What if Dawson gets into the ground, starts landing elbows, opens up a cut?

16:01 As tough as Rebecqui is, the doctor might be forced to step in and say,

16:05 "Dude, I know you all too well.

16:07 I've been taping up your cuts for four fights straight.

16:09 You got to get out of here." Doctor stoppage is live in this one.

16:44 Three-ball match up, Corey Conners minus 124 over Ricky Castillo.

16:47 Yes, it's pronounced Castillo, not Castillo.

16:50 I have feel like I have to say that every

16:51 time for the new people uh that come in here.

16:53 But Corey Conners minus 124, I actually think it's pretty good value.

16:56 Now, I'm not a big Corey Conners guy.

16:58 I'm not necessarily saying he's going to compete in this event

17:00 to win it cuz he tends to not do things like that.

17:03 But Ricky Castillo was not the golfer that Corey Conners is.

17:06 I I just love how like everything about Corey Conners, what he does off the tee,

17:10 what he does on approach, what he does with the short game,

17:12 is generally better than Ricky Castillo.

17:14 So, I I think, while I think Conners upside is is limited,

17:18 I kind of like him in matchups because I generally know what to expect.

17:21 Castillio has the type of volatility that I tend to like to fade in matchups.

17:27 So, give me Corey Conners minus 124 over

17:30 Castillio for a round one three ball matchup.

17:32 Again, they're going out in three balls.

17:34 It's a signature event.

17:35 They don't normally do that, but they're going out in three

17:37 balls because of a pretty major rain delay this morning.

17:40 It's probably going to be preferred lies,

17:42 which for the record should benefit Corey Conners as well.

17:45 So, it's a little bit of a different setup

17:47 today and tomorrow than it otherwise was going to be.

17:50 We had a question, an MLB question,

17:53 and it's it's interesting what it's about here,

17:56 Tom, because Big Cheesy says he likes

17:59 the Guardians Royals over nine at minus 110.

18:03 I don't know if you have any thoughts on that, but I

18:04 do know you do have thoughts on this game.

18:08 Yeah, I like it if the Royals score eight.

18:10 The The That's you know,

18:12 there is a chance with a Civale on the mound for for the Guardians.

18:16 But, when you look at this game, I went with the Royals.

18:19 They had a five-game winning streak that ended last night.

18:22 Then you get Mr.

18:23 Consistent on the mound today, Seth Lugo,

18:25 who's had success against this current Guardians lineup.

18:29 They bat just 188 against them,

18:31 and the Guardians struggle against right-handed pitching in general,

18:35 hitting just 217 compared to 265 against lefties.

18:39 You know, but the play here is while Lugo's consistent,

18:42 we're hoping for some consistency with Civale cuz he's been terrible this year.

18:46 The Guardians are just one and six when he starts.

18:48 He has an ERA over seven on the road.

18:50 And the key here for this pick is Cleveland had

18:53 to use four relief pitchers last night that won't be available today.

18:57 So, Civale's going to have to eat up

18:58 some innings even if he gets in trouble early, which he does a lot.

19:02 So, I think the Royals rebound here tonight.

19:05 I got him at minus 140,

19:07 going to give you a bonus bet if you're bored this weekend.

19:10 Um, Lacrosse tournament starts.

19:13 Uh, now in January in the college basketball discord,

19:15 I gave you a Princeton plus 700.

19:17 They're the one seed, so we we got a shot.

19:20 But the best team in Lacrosse, in my opinion,

19:22 is on the other side of the bracket.

19:24 It's the two seed, Notre Dame.

19:25 Notre Dame has lost just two games all season,

19:28 and it was to the same team, Virginia, who they don't match up well against.

19:32 And Virginia just bombed them in the ACC tournament.
