Trump makes HUMILIATING mistake at public ceremony | Another Day
Brian Tyler Cohen
0:00 Trump holds a White House event to show how much he respects moms.
0:03 Or maybe he was just looking for his fourth wife.
0:06 This is just another day.
0:10 With Mother's Day just around the corner,
0:12 Trump felt it only fitting to host a special lunchon in the Rose
0:15 Garden to showcase his appreciation for all those strong, inspiring moms.
0:20 You know, where you're standing uh or sitting
0:22 right now is white stone and that was grass.
0:26 And the problem with it is you couldn't walk on it because
0:28 this was built on a wetland and the grass was always soaking wet.
0:31 It didn't matter.
0:32 Guess it's a uh slow ramp up to that appreciation.
0:36 Okay.
0:37 Honoring our mothers in three, two, one.
0:40 We uh added the pictures of the presidents
0:42 from George Washington to a guy named Trump.
0:45 Right up here, you probably noticed the new uh black granite.
0:49 And it's uh it's been so wellreceived,
0:52 people can't even believe it cuz the stones
0:54 were all broken and really in bad disrepair.
0:57 Wow.
0:58 This guy just gets moms.
1:01 I mean, if there is one thing I'm pretty sure all moms love doing,
1:04 it's sitting in the sweltering hot sun while a man
1:06 rambles on about all of his home improvement projects.
1:09 But Donald Trump eventually put aside all that gloating over his home repair
1:13 and finally focused on the mothers and all that they've had to sacrifice.
1:17 This afternoon, we're also joined by some
1:19 of the most extraordinary mothers our nation has ever produced.
1:22 Our cherished gold star moms.
1:24 These are gold star moms.
1:26 These mothers raised up children so selfless
1:28 and so devoted that they volunteered to wear
1:31 the uniform of our nation and laid down their lives for all of us.
1:36 I agree.
1:36 I can't think of anything more tragic than losing
1:39 a child who courageously served in our armed forces.
1:42 Except, I suppose, having their death exploited for fundraising
1:45 purposes by the guy who literally sent them to war.
1:48 But this mother lover continued on.
1:50 I want to thank every single mother here this afternoon
1:53 and all across our nation for your work every single day.
1:57 America's moms are raising really raising the future of our country.
2:01 the most important.
2:02 You have the most We don't call it a job
2:04 because when you love it, it's not a job.
2:06 But let's for this purpose,
2:08 you have the most important job there is in America or any place else.
2:13 And you're doing an incredible job.
2:15 That's right.
2:16 This president thinks that you moms are doing
2:18 such incredible work at this job you love.
2:20 He and his Republican colleagues know that you
2:23 can handle even more of a workload.
2:25 The United States can't take care of daycare.
2:27 Hey, come on.
2:28 Don't sell yourself short.
2:29 I think that we've seen that our government can easily take care of daycare.
2:33 In fact, Trump himself put as much on full display.
2:36 You might be too young for this.
2:38 I don't know if I want.
2:39 They probably know.
2:40 They They probably know better than most people,
2:42 but you can't let a bunch of lunatics have a nuclear weapon.
2:48 Pennsylvania, right?
2:47 I know.
2:48 Oh, Pennsylvania is great.
2:50 We won Pennsylvania.
2:53 Actually, three times, but we won Pennsylvania.
2:56 Biden would use the autop He'd have an auto fed
3:00 follow you know Joe by he didn't son he was
3:03 incapable of son so they'd follow him around with this big
3:07 machine you know what it's called an auto path
3:10 see daycare is no problem at all frankly
3:13 if these moms really love their kids they'd raise
3:16 them on the oldfashioned way in a golden palace
3:18 in the sky where their child can roam freely
3:20 on their own stuffed lion now I have to say of all the people to be standing
3:25 at a podium representing gratitude toward our nation's mothers
3:28 Donald Trump is the last guy that I would pick.
3:31 It's like having Kanye officiate your child's bar mitzvah.
3:34 But while millions of American moms are at home trying
3:37 to figure out what they're going to do about child care,
3:39 many of them also get the awesome responsibility
3:42 of figuring out how to feed those daycareless kids.
3:45 Now, the good news, in just one year alone,
3:48 we've already moved 4 and a half million people off of SNAP.
3:53 Hey, that is good news.
3:54 I mean, unless you're one of the 40 million Americans
3:57 who are currently hungry and need that food assistance to survive,
4:00 but other than that, definitely worth bragging about.
4:03 And that's just the beginning.
4:04 So, we're going to be pulling more and more
4:06 people off that shouldn't be on the program,
4:08 ensuring that the taxpayers are protected.
4:10 And frankly, part of this is the dignity of work.
4:13 Right.
4:14 This is a great American biblical
4:17 foundational principle that people should work.
4:21 That's right.
4:21 Work shall set you free.
4:23 A solid message from the Trump administration,
4:26 although it probably sounded better in the original German.
4:29 But you know what?
4:30 Let's grant that people should work.
4:32 There's just one small issue with this hunt for dignified employment.
4:36 President Donald Trump's trade war continued
4:39 to reverberate through the corporate world
4:41 on Tuesday as UPS said it would cut 20,000 jobs to lower costs.
4:46 For the first time in nearly 50 years,
4:49 a Westford small business is dealing with layoffs.
4:52 And they say President Trump's tariffs are to blame.
4:55 Aston Martin is blaming tariffs for mass layoffs.
4:58 John Deere, the legacy tractor maker, has announced layoffs at three facilities
5:03 as that company grapples with tariffs and declining sales.
5:07 Well, if Jesus could turn water into wine,
5:10 maybe he'll come back and turn all of those layoffs into jobs.
5:13 You know, because work is such a biblical foundational principle.
5:17 Got it.
5:17 The reality is that Donald Trump and the GOP are insanely anti-mom.
5:22 And I'm putting an asterisk next to Mike Pence since
5:24 he calls his wife mother and that just complicates things.
5:28 For instance, they're more than happy to tell you
5:30 what type of medicine you can and can't take.
5:32 If you're pregnant, don't take Tylenol.
5:35 Yep.
5:35 If you're pregnant and not feeling well,
5:38 follow our president's medical advice and just cake some makeup onto your belly.
5:42 That seems to make everything better, right?
5:45 Well, maybe not.
5:46 Earlier this year, the administration acts the team
5:49 behind the pregnancy risk assessment monitoring system.
5:51 Republicans in Nebraska, Indiana,
5:53 and West Virginia have successfully passed legislation
5:55 in 2026 rolling back child labor regulations,
5:58 with legislation led by Republicans pending in other states,
6:01 including Florida, Missouri, and Virginia.
6:03 The child tax credit expansion failed to provide any
6:06 boost to 17 million children and families with lower incomes.
6:09 And another 2 million children will receive
6:11 less than the full $200 per child increase.
6:14 Not to mention this guy not wanting to vaccinate your kiddos.
6:18 The vaccine is poison.
6:20 The real key to health and wellness is just hot tubbing with your jeans on.
6:24 The truth is, per usual, this is window dressing.
6:27 Donald Trump cares as much about moms as he does about health care,
6:31 gas prices, and housing.
6:32 Because last time I checked, this woman counts as a mom.
6:36 It makes me sick.
6:38 Literally turns my stomach.
6:39 That's Dorothy Granard's feeling whose daughter Carolyn was recluded
6:43 by Epstein when she was only 14 years old.
6:46 According to her mother,
6:47 the unimaginable acts that she lived in Epstein's mansion haunted her for years.
6:52 A wreck.
6:53 A wreck.
6:54 Cuz she would disappear out of shame.
6:56 Authorities declared her daughter Carolyn dead due
6:59 to an overdose in May of last year.
7:01 She left behind five children and her mother.
7:04 The only person somewhat responsible was Jeffrey Epstein.
7:09 So, how does Trump treat that mother?
7:11 We have nothing to do with Epstein.
7:12 The Democrats do.
7:14 I know it's a hoax.
7:14 It's started by Democrats.
7:16 These files were made up by Comey.
7:18 They were made up by Obama.
7:20 They were made up by the Biden.
7:22 You know, uh we and we went through years of that.
7:25 Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein?
7:28 I know, right?
7:29 It's like, get over it already.
7:31 Or how about just some of those working women
7:33 who may or may not become moms in the future,
7:36 but are trying to go to work and get treated with respect and dignity.
7:39 This is one of the worst reporters.
7:41 Uh she's with ABC Fake News and she's a horror show.
7:44 You're the most obnoxious reporter in the whole place.
7:47 Let me just tell you,
7:48 you are an obnoxious a terrible actually a terrible reporter.
7:53 She's shocked that I picked her.
7:55 It's like in a state of shock.
7:56 I'm not thinking, Mr.
7:57 That's okay.
7:58 I know you're not thinking.
7:59 You never do.
8:00 I'm sorry.
8:00 No, go ahead.
8:01 You are the worst reporter.
8:03 No wonder to see CNN has no ratings because of people like you.
8:06 You know, she's a young woman.
8:08 I don't think I've ever seen you smile.
8:10 I've known you for 10 years.
8:12 Are you stupid?
8:13 Are you a stupid person?
8:14 Because they came into on a plane along with thousands of other people
8:19 that shouldn't be here and you're just
8:21 asking questions cuz you're a stupid person.
8:23 Fun fact, that last woman that Trump
8:25 was calling a stupid person was Nancy Cordis,
8:27 who also happens to be that other thing that Trump despises, a mother.
8:32 Trump's rogues garden speech today was
8:33 simply a microcosm of his entire presidency.
8:36 A flashy marketing event where he paints himself as this white
8:40 knight who heroically saved our nation when in reality,
8:44 every single one of his party's policies have
8:46 exacerbated the problems that he claims to have fixed.
8:49 And that is because this man is an expert at marketing, not governing.
8:53 His entire job as president is based around
8:55 the idea of making life harder for millions
8:58 of moms while he makes his own life as a dad as easy as it can be.
9:02 We don't call it a job because when you love it, it's not a job.
9:06 We can see that.
9:10 Before you go, I'm very excited to announce
9:12 that I've written a new book titled The Day After:
9:14 How to Wield Power in a PostTrump World.
9:17 The book explores what is, in my opinion,
9:18 the single most important theme that we're
9:20 dealing with in politics today and moving forward.
9:23 Power.
9:23 Specifically, how Republicans abuse it and how Democrats refuse to wield it.
9:27 This book explains how we got here and more importantly,
9:30 how we should finally wield power if we're lucky enough to get it back.
9:33 It is the blueprint for progressives who want
9:35 to do far more than just restore the status quo.
