BEST BETS: 2026 Truist Championship Picks, Odds, One & Done | The Early Wedge
SportsLine
0:15 [music]
0:22 Welcome to the early wedge best bet show.
0:24 I'm your host EC.
0:26 I'm not lying when I say this is one of the bigger
0:29 shows that we have all year in terms of the number of picks.
0:32 I I literally cannot believe the rundown.
0:35 We have new names on the no bet list by the way.
0:38 Four new names, we'll talk about those later in the show.
0:40 We have a parlay from Sobel that is so
0:42 big I can't even explain how many numbers there are.
0:46 But first, let's bring in the stars of the show and I want to give
0:49 kudos to Si Woo Kim for hitting Cam Young in the without Scotty market,
0:54 didn't even need that, at plus 1050.
0:57 And by the way, courtesy of producer Matt,
0:59 you guys have hit a ticket of plus 1050
1:01 or longer in three of the last four weeks.
1:04 Great job, guys.
1:05 We have Patrick Sobel, Si Woo Kim.
1:07 All right, Si Woo Kim, you get the first word.
1:09 Congrats on Cam Young.
1:10 You and I shot up in OAD as well.
1:13 Somehow I find a way to be negative about a win, so I'm I'm happy I got it,
1:18 but I didn't have Cam Young as a first round leader,
1:20 like which I absolutely should have.
1:22 I don't know.
1:22 It it I'm happy I got one on the board.
1:25 I've had a lot of near misses, but I got to build off of this one.
1:28 Patrick, all right, Cam won here.
1:30 Why is he playing this week?
1:31 Like if you're Cam, you just won, take a break before the PGA, right?
1:35 No?
1:36 Yeah, you know, these guys are creatures of habit.
1:38 He was going to play no matter what, so keep a good thing going.
1:41 Four million dollars, he's 29 years old.
1:43 It's not like these guys can't handle another four competitive rounds.
1:47 Let's go.
1:48 run.
1:48 He had a He had a long break before the Masters, too.
1:51 So, Sobel, the the story about Cam Young this week,
1:54 and I'm sure you've talked about it as well, is where a year ago this time,
1:58 he's what, 150th in the world, had to qualify for the US Open,
2:02 and now the guy's the number three player in the world.
2:04 I mean, it's pretty unbelievable what we've seen
2:06 from him in the last, what, few months?
2:08 Yeah, EC, this is something we talk about all the time.
2:11 The players that come close,
2:12 and I think there's a big disparity here in what the public
2:15 thinks about these guys who come close and, quote, don't get it done.
2:19 And and what the players themselves, and the people inside the game think,
2:22 because Cam Young's probably not won three times the last
2:25 nine months if he didn't have those seven runner-up finishes,
2:28 or at least some of those beforehand.
2:30 Sometimes you got to knock on the door before
2:32 it opens up and you can barge right through it.
2:34 And so, that's going to be one of the themes that I
2:36 talk about when we get to my outrights later in the show.
2:38 So, let's get we since we have so many picks, let's get right to it.
2:41 And we're going to start with storylines.
2:42 And Patrick, I actually kind of agree with you.
2:45 We have some signature event fatigue.
2:47 Kind of.
2:48 You only kind of agree with me?
2:50 Kind of.
2:51 Think about the last three stroke play events on the PGA Tour.
2:56 They've been all 72-man fields with no cuts.
3:00 Uh at least, you know, Harbour Town Golf Links was a little bit different,
3:03 but you you think about Doral and Quail Hollow,
3:06 big ballparks, you got to hit it far.
3:09 And I think Miami was a little bit of a snooze fest throughout the week.
3:14 I've heard really bad things from the ground
3:16 saying there was just no one there at all.
3:19 And uh you know, luckily, Charlotte comes out for this tournament,
3:23 so there's probably going to be a little bit more juice.
3:26 The golf course is in good, not great shape from what I've heard, also.
3:30 Uh but I'm just I'm getting tired.
3:34 It's like I'm going through the motions.
3:36 I'm waking up on Monday.
3:37 I'm doing the same thing every day.
3:38 I'm clocking in.
3:39 I'm walking into my cubicle.
3:41 I'm punching.
3:42 I'm doing the 9-to-5.
3:43 I'm eating the slop bowl from Cava or Chipotle every single day.
3:46 And I'm just doing it over and over and over again.
3:49 That that's kind of what this part
3:51 of the schedule has felt like for me at least.
3:53 And hey, if I can Let's do it.
3:55 real quick, did you say bowl as opposed to burrito?
3:57 Is that Are you a bowl guy?
3:58 Yeah, I I don't think you can do a burrito when
4:00 you're when you're at the desk or you're at a you know,
4:03 a place of work, Sia.
4:05 That's a little too messy for me.
4:06 Yeah, that's fair.
4:07 Okay.
4:08 Three soft tacos, Sia and Patrick.
4:10 Three soft tacos?
4:10 That's a That's a child's order.
4:13 Yeah, it's like a child, I mean.
4:14 That is a child's order.
4:17 All right, I've said this on the show plenty of times.
4:19 I haven't seen a grown man ever order three soft tacos.
4:23 Well, here you go, right here.
4:24 Every single time I've been to Chipotle, every single, hundreds of times.
4:30 100% hit rate.
4:31 100% hit rate, yeah.
4:33 That's You know I I just have to tip my cap.
4:35 That's impressive.
4:37 Steak, [laughter] cheese, lettuce.
4:38 That's impressive.
4:39 Keep it simple.
4:40 Okay.
4:41 Reasonable.
4:41 I mean Sia.
4:42 This is your fav- It's true.
4:44 Sia, this is your favorite type of week because we get
4:46 an alternate event and we know you crush in these alternate events.
4:50 It's so too bad because or this morning I gave
4:54 out William Mao at 41 to 1 and he withdrew like
4:57 an hour later and and I I think of that when
4:59 you present the question to me because me and Jason,
5:01 of course, hit we we hit William Mao,
5:03 both of us last last year at Puerto Rico or was it somebody else?
5:07 And Willo?
5:07 And Willo, yeah.
5:08 Yeah, okay.
5:08 Well, I I think I hit I hit Mao as well last year.
5:11 But the point is I love these alt events
5:13 and and as much as we do have signature event fatigue,
5:15 we've got not only two PGA Tour events,
5:18 of course, we have like LIV Golf Virginia,
5:20 but the DP World Tour as well and obviously I think there's Jason,
5:23 you would know better the Champions Tour and and the LPGA
5:26 whether they've got something going on, but like
5:27 there's I even have DP World Tour outrights that I
5:30 can give out on the show if people want it.
5:32 So, there's there's a lot going on and I just love the cut events.
5:35 I love the alt events.
5:36 I love being able to go down the board
5:38 and and pick a guy that I legitimately think can win.
5:41 So, we've got a lot to talk about today.
5:42 Sobel, it's your turn to list all
5:44 of the professional golf events that are happening this weekend.
5:48 Okay, we've got the Tourist Championship, of course, on the PGA Tour.
5:52 We've got the alternate event.
5:54 Ah, there we go.
5:55 We tried to get him off the top of my head.
5:57 Look at that.
5:58 The Louis Classic, the Catalunya Championship.
6:00 By the way, the damn Catalunya Championship, as it's formally known.
6:04 LIV Golf Virginia, Mizuho Americas Open,
6:06 and the Insperity Invitational on Champions.
6:10 And yes, we will be parlaying all of those later in the show.
6:15 I have never seen a bigger parlay in my life than what Sobel has later.
6:19 I just I'm just telling you.
6:21 It's less about the six-part parlay and more about what we can do with it.
6:25 So, again, stay tuned.
6:27 I'm going to talk you through it, but it's it's not just a huge lottery ticket.
6:31 It's It's some other uh intelligent, I think, pieces to it.
6:35 You all need to have $10 in your betting
6:37 accounts before we get to that last segment,
6:40 because it's going to be rocking and rolling from there.
6:42 All right.
6:43 My storyline is We're at Quail Hollow.
6:45 Uh Patrick, your boy Xander's got to show up this week.
6:50 [laughter] Yeah, I mean, it's time.
6:50 I'm a believer.
6:52 I'm not to spoil later in the show.
6:54 Cuz Xander, what he does is he he has
6:56 an uncompetitive three rounds and backdoors a top 10.
7:00 Yeah.
7:00 It's time at a place that where he's been really good,
7:03 back-to-back second place finishes at this event.
7:06 You got to contend, Xander, and if you don't,
7:09 your name is about to be added to the no bet list.
7:12 Well, that's great time.
7:13 That's great time.
7:14 You got to do it before the PGA.
7:16 It would be a 2-year anniversary for you.
7:18 And we obviously saw what happened from there.
7:20 But I'm with you.
7:20 He's falling into some some really concerning bad habits.
7:23 He he's going back to 2024 Xander, where it's great on Wikipedia,
7:29 it's great on Data Golf, and you look at his finishes,
7:32 but you look up at the end of the week and you're like,
7:34 "I didn't even see a golf shot from this guy
7:36 this week." And he just finished T6 somehow.
7:39 I will say I heard that maybe he was a little sick.
7:44 Um so there is that.
7:46 Okay.
7:46 Well, he better be fine by Thursday because I'll
7:49 be out there at Quail Hollow for the first
7:52 round of the Truist Championship and this is why
7:55 I will be relying on the three of your picks.
7:58 Well, maybe not Patrick's when you see what it is.
8:00 But all right, Sobel, I'm going to start I'm I'm going to start with you, Sobel.
8:04 You have a couple of picks including one player I really like for an outright.
8:08 Uh yeah, what are we Sorry, we lost you there for a second.
8:12 FRLs FRLs All right, there we go.
8:14 Get into the FRLs.
8:15 Yeah, I'll start with Siwoo Kim.
8:17 Again, just coming off a a good week and a guy that's playing really well.
8:20 He's played well at Quail Hollow over the last few years.
8:22 He's sort of broken out of his shell a little bit.
8:24 I remember talking to him at the uh before the Presidents Cup.
8:27 It's like Tuesday or Wednesday before the Presidents Cup 2 years ago when
8:30 he talked to me about how shy he is and how he doesn't like,
8:34 you know, having lots of people watching him.
8:36 And then he goes out and does the nighty night Steph Curry thing
8:39 uh that week and it feels like he broke out of his shell.
8:42 Remember a few years ago,
8:43 Siwoo was a guy who had a high ceiling but a very low floor.
8:46 Now he has a very, very high floor.
8:48 Six top 10s in 12 starts, four top fives including last week.
8:52 I'm still not going in for the four-round investment,
8:54 but I like him on Thursday and then Sahith Theegala.
8:57 Okay, so the last time I had Sahith Theegala
9:00 for a first-round leader play was at The Players Championship.
9:03 The week before that, at the API,
9:05 he had the best round of the day and led in strokes gained approach on Sunday.
9:10 So I took him thinking there was some momentum for Thursday.
9:12 There was, wound up in a five-way tie
9:14 for the lead after the first round at TPC Sawgrass.
9:17 This past week, tied for the round of the day on Sunday at Doral,
9:21 led the field in strokes gained tee to green.
9:23 So the formula should work.
9:24 Hopefully, once again, big number on Sahith on Thursday as well.
9:28 Okay.
9:29 Patrick, you're taking the chalk here.
9:32 I am.
9:33 Yeah, I'm taking Rory 15-1 to to your your first-round leader, and here's why.
9:38 Everyone expects Rory to contend, and he's only played four times here in 2026,
9:43 and you think about the two tournaments where he's contended.
9:46 Of course, he contended and won the Masters,
9:48 where he was the first round leader, and he contended at Riviera,
9:51 where he finished second to Jacob Bridgeman by a stroke,
9:54 where he was the first round leader.
9:56 And now we're going to the golf course that he owns.
9:58 I'm not concerned about any rust or any of that.
10:01 Rory's very intentional this day and age about where he plays,
10:05 and so I expect him to come out firing,
10:07 and I expect him to be the first round leader on Thursday.
10:09 All right, fair enough.
10:10 At 15 to one.
10:11 All right, Cia, you're the guy that you
10:13 and Sobel have been red hot with this market.
10:16 I usually don't play FRLs, but I am paying attention.
10:19 I mean, I might even have to play Rory just cuz Patrick put it out there.
10:22 I mean, 15 to one, why not?
10:24 All right, Cia, you have three names, including a very popular one in Ludvig.
10:28 Yeah, I mean, these these guys can go low.
10:30 They're great course fits.
10:31 I'll start with Ludvig.
10:33 Uh he's one of the three that didn't play last week,
10:35 but I I think we understand that Ludvig's an excellent course fit,
10:38 can absolutely bomb it off the tee.
10:39 And we know Ludvig can go low.
10:40 I mean, Sunday's always going to be the story.
10:42 Well, I hope in this case it is the story because I want him to get to Sunday.
10:46 More on that later, but yeah, I I I I think Ludvig is a great course fit.
10:50 So, I'm happy to play him here.
10:52 I thought it was 25 to one, it might be 24 to one.
10:54 Adam Scott, Gary Woodland, they were on my first round leader card last week.
10:58 Now, Gary Woodland had a great first couple of rounds,
11:00 and then really faded in rounds three and round four.
11:02 Again, this is a first round leader market.
11:04 Hoping he picks up where he left off,
11:06 I guess, from rounds one and two last week.
11:08 But again, another great course fit,
11:10 a guy that's going to be able to score on the par fives,
11:12 put himself in good position off the tee.
11:14 And Adam Scott, if it wasn't for that day one,
11:16 where, honestly, he started off slow,
11:18 and then probably got really rattled by hitting his own the wrong ball,
11:22 and then just, you know, the the the the round kind of unraveled.
11:26 But after that point, Adam Scott was one of the best in the field,
11:29 and he really showed up on Sunday.
11:31 I mean, talk about a guy that can go low for round.
11:33 Adam Scott certainly fits that profile, 33 to 1.
11:36 And all right, I have a giant card cuz I'm going to be
11:39 out there and when you're at an event, you got to bet big.
11:41 All right, so I have three FRLs.
11:43 I have Schauffele at uh little over 20 to 1.
11:46 I have Ludvig at 24 to 1, which you're giving out Sia.
11:49 How about Alex Smalley at 49 to 1?
11:51 He was second last week in the first round and he was first at the Zurich.
11:54 I don't know if that counts,
11:55 but no lower than 17th in the first round in his last six events.
11:59 So then, I have those three outright and then
12:02 I have four top 10 bets because as I said,
12:04 when you're on the course, you got to you got to bet hard.
12:06 Xander, top 10 plus 215.
12:09 Uh Ludvig, top 10 plus 260.
12:11 Gary Woodland, who has four straight FRL top 10s, by the way, as you mentioned,
12:16 you know, that he's gets off to great start Sia, he's plus 420.
12:19 I love that bet.
12:20 And Alex Smalley uh at plus 425 for the top 10.
12:23 So, seven bets in this market.
12:25 I usually don't go that far, but why not?
12:27 Patrick, go ahead.
12:28 PC, are you a post up at a hole
12:30 and chill all day and watch or do you follow groups?
12:33 I kind of want to go walk the green mile and see what's going on around there.
12:37 Like, it's my one chance I'm going to be out there,
12:40 so I want to see what's going on.
12:42 You got to get got to get the steps in.
12:44 So, the problem is the forecast.
12:47 Now, our resident weatherman, Sia Najad, he it's going to rain.
12:51 I'm so glad you've taken that title from Sia, by the [laughter] way.
12:55 I think I only took it cuz you weren't here one show.
12:57 I don't know why I still have it.
13:00 [laughter] Don't worry.
13:00 Oh, yeah.
13:01 I guess I have heard it might rain Wednesday into Thursday,
13:03 soften up the course a little bit.
13:06 But, you know, I go ahead.
13:08 Soba, you got any you got anything like Do you Is there
13:10 a wave advantage that you know like do we I don't know.
13:14 Any thoughts on that?
13:15 I I heard like Sia said, rain Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
13:19 You might be good by the time you get
13:20 there Thursday morning um and be able to walk around.
13:23 I would bring uh some old shoes to walk in.
13:25 It might feel a little muddy out there,
13:26 but uh yeah, it's it's great course to walk on.
13:29 I mean, I've I've been to Quail Hollow 10
13:30 times and it's one of the best out there.
13:33 There's a little there's some Quail fatigue out
13:35 there just in that it's held the President's Cup,
13:37 it's held a couple PGA Championships now, holds this event every year,
13:41 but it's one of the best on the PGA Tour, it really is.
13:43 Yeah.
13:44 All right, Patrick, here's here's one for you.
13:46 I've been to Pinehurst number two.
13:47 Is this a cooler course than Pinehurst number two?
13:50 I think it's a good venue and an okay course.
13:53 That's kind of how I would put it.
13:54 There's a ton of infrastructure there for these guys.
13:57 You can get in and out pretty easily.
14:00 And so that's kind of the way I'd put it.
14:01 If I was watching, I would probably go behind 15T around 15T, right?
14:12 Cuz then you get the drivable par 4 14th green, get the tee shot on the par 5,
14:17 and then you can watch across the water
14:19 the approaches into 16 and the tee shots on 17.
14:23 Awesome.
14:23 All right, well, thank you.
14:24 So Blaine, anything you want to add to that?
14:26 Uh that's exactly what I was going to say, somewhere on 14.
14:28 You want to watch the drivable par 4.
14:30 All right, fair enough.
14:31 I'm excited.
14:31 I cannot wait, but I also need some match up bets, especially first round ones.
14:37 Then of course, we got to play a top nationality play.
14:39 So, we will find out what the guys have
14:41 to say after we hear from one of our sponsors.
14:45 When you need your sports news all the time,
14:47 we've got breaking news to bring to you.
14:49 CBS Sports HQ hits every highlight from all the sports that matter to you.
14:53 JJ, we appreciate your time breaking it down.
14:55 [music] A lot of movement in the rankings this week.
14:57 With the plays you missed.
14:58 What a finish at the final [music] round of play?
15:00 And analysis to give you an edge.
15:02 All we need is 20 points.
15:04 I was shaking in my boots.
15:05 Texas, Ohio State, who wins this game?
15:08 We're bringing you that breaking news right here on HQ.
15:10 CBS Sports HQ, streaming free 24/7.
15:14 All right, see you.
15:15 We have a bunch of picks in this segment as per usual,
15:18 but I'm looking for a round one play.
15:20 I just mentioned I liked Alex Smalley in round one and guess what?
15:24 You and I thinking alike.
15:26 Do tell.
15:27 We are thinking alike and we have in one and done
15:28 the last couple of weeks and it's served us well.
15:30 So we'll we'll get there a little bit later.
15:33 Matt Wallace, if you all recall last week
15:35 he was one of my first round leader picks.
15:36 I mean it was a long shot.
15:38 I even said it was like the sprinkliest of sprinkle first round leader plays.
15:41 It was 80 to 1, but I also had him in a first
15:43 round match up and he was one of the worst guys on the course.
15:46 Now he did rebound a little bit.
15:47 He had an okay tournament over Actually it was pretty bad,
15:49 but it wasn't day one was not his tournament.
15:53 He he rebounded a little bit.
15:55 The putter has been working pretty well for him,
15:56 but Alex Smalley you see like you like
15:58 you mentioned he's playing really well across the bag.
16:02 He's really playing well and I just think this is such
16:04 a mismatch and and granted I'm having to pay the price for this.
16:08 It's minus 136 round one match up.
16:11 This price I found over at DK.
16:12 I couldn't find the round one two balls over at FanDuel and BetMGM.
16:16 I'm sure they're available now, so go search if you can find a better number.
16:19 But yeah, he's just playing way better than than Matt Wallace,
16:22 so I like this one and then I'll take Ludwig minus 125 over Tommy Fleetwood.
16:26 I think Ludwig's a better course fit,
16:28 but more importantly Tommy Fleetwood's just been
16:29 a little off especially with his approach play and Ludwig really hasn't had any
16:34 issues outside of again some Sunday scaries,
16:36 but Ludwig minus 125 over Fleetwood I think is actually value.
16:40 I might not have said that two months ago, but it is right now.
16:43 Fair enough.
16:44 Uh Fleetwood's top 10 streak is long by the wayside.
16:47 We'll just put it that way.
16:48 Patrick, this is arguably your biggest match up card of the year.
16:52 So Max Homa has a great course history here
16:55 and I thought he would be a very popular play,
16:57 but you're actually going to fade him against the PGA Tour newcomer.
17:01 Yeah, I mean Fitzpatrick drove the ball just amazing last week.
17:06 He's just pumping that little left to right
17:08 bleeder out there over and over and over again.
17:11 Hasn't seen the course like Max has,
17:13 but he's definitely playing better golf than Max.
17:15 Take away the Masters which comes with some
17:17 institutional knowledge and you can't can kind
17:20 of think your way around that place and Homa has just had a bad season.
17:23 Call a spade a spade and so I'm going
17:24 to take the newcomer Alex Fitzpatrick minus 111 over
17:28 Homa and then I'm I'm going to go
17:30 with the former champion Ricky Fowler minus 105 over Robert McIntyre.
17:35 I still think McIntyre needs to pay his pennants
17:38 for what he did at Augusta National and the Masters.
17:41 Just that horrible display of of sportsmanship that doesn't belong in the game
17:46 of golf at all and what he did was that Friday that he did that?
17:50 Yep.
17:51 What did he do again?
17:52 Can you remind me?
17:53 are still crying about it.
17:54 It's unbelievable.
17:56 It's unbecoming of a professional golfer.
17:59 He didn't pee in the lake or in the in the tributary, did he?
18:02 Worse.
18:02 You know, he threw threw the bird.
18:04 He was cussing a lot on camera.
18:06 It was just he putted off the green into the water I think at one point.
18:09 Just you know, a sad sad state of affairs I believe.
18:13 And his iron play has been just putrid this year
18:16 outside of I think the Players Championship where he played well.
18:19 So I'm going to go with Ricky who just finished top 10 there at the Cadillac.
18:23 He had a top 10 at the RBC Heritage too, playing well.
18:26 So minus 105 and then Harris English disappointing effort
18:30 last week out of the English bulldog, but look,
18:34 I'm going to pick on JT if you give me
18:37 an option to pick on JT and I'm going to do
18:39 it at a golf course where English finished runner-up last
18:44 year in the PGA Championship because of a good final round.
18:46 Obviously JT has won at this golf course too, but that was almost a decade ago.
18:52 Completely different golfer.
18:53 Give me English minus 118 as well.
18:56 Spoiler alert, that's a great pick, Patrick.
18:58 One of my favorite picks on the show.
19:00 Just want to say what a great pick.
19:02 Another pick another one of my favorite
19:04 picks on the show comes from Jason Sobel.
19:07 Here going talked about Xander earlier in the show.
19:09 Matt Fitzpatrick's probably the hottest player on the planet.
19:12 Maybe a little bit hotter than Cam Young
19:14 right now and you're fading him against Xander.
19:19 Professional golf is a roller coaster.
19:20 You take the ride up and then all of a sudden you go back down.
19:23 Matt Fitzpatrick is playing fantastic golf.
19:26 Other than Cameron Young,
19:26 he's probably been the best player on tour so far this year.
19:29 Scotty of course has been great as well.
19:31 That said, he's not going to do it every single week and so I think
19:35 Xander's on the way up and Matt might be on the way down a little bit.
19:38 I'd like to pick on Matt a little bit this week and I love Xander.
19:41 I'm not going to take him for an outright
19:43 cuz you're going to see I have another player
19:45 in that top tier so I can't take two
19:46 of them but I do like everything about Xander this week.
19:49 I think he's going to contend for this title so I like that one
19:52 and then the number one player in strokes
19:54 gained approach on the PGA tour this year.
19:56 This guy who's 45 years old who's also
19:58 number one in that category last week at Doral.
20:00 Adam Scott.
20:02 I'm telling you if you just did the blind resume test,
20:04 if you just looked at the stats
20:05 this year and looked at Adam Scott's ball striking,
20:08 you'd think it was Scotty Scheffler or Colin Morikawa, somebody like that.
20:11 He's playing fantastic golf right now and Tommy Fleetwood is not.
20:15 This is a smash play in my mind.
20:18 Fleetwood is he's lost a little something.
20:20 He's got to figure something out before we get to these last three
20:22 majors of the year but it's just not happening for him right now.
20:25 I don't think it's a great course for him either.
20:27 I don't think he's a great course fit.
20:28 Love Adam Scott in this match up.
20:30 And Adam Scott had arguably one of the most garbage top fives.
20:34 You know, he gets off to an uncompetitive start last week.
20:36 You're like, oh, he's got to he just cost me all my placement bets.
20:39 I had him for top you know, Australasia or what do you call it?
20:43 Oceania.
20:43 There you go.
20:44 And next thing you know, he gets the garbage top five.
20:47 I mean, it was good for him.
20:48 Well, it's not a garbage top five.
20:50 Like he was basically last place after day one.
20:52 It would be a garbage top five if he was lingering in like
20:55 like 41st or 35th and then just like suddenly made a push.
20:59 To be that far back with Justin Rose and company and then
21:02 to have battled back like that shows a certain I don't know.
21:05 It shows a certain composure that I don't think a lot of athletes have.
21:08 Here here's what I want to say.
21:09 He was bogey free over the weekend.
21:11 And that's at that course, it's impressive.
21:13 But Sobel, how do you hit the wrong ball?
21:16 Like in this day and age on the PGA tour, how?
21:19 I don't know.
21:20 I'm not sure Adam knows.
21:21 He's been a pro for 27 years and he said he's never done that before.
21:24 So, I'm guessing it'll be another 27 before he does it again.
21:27 I don't know how that happens.
21:30 I'm going the top Canadian market this week
21:31 and usually our guy Corey Conners is the play,
21:33 but we're going to fade him, Nick Taylor, Sudarshan Yellamraju,
21:37 and Mackenzie Hughes in favor of Taylor Pendrith at plus 290.
21:41 So, Pendrith was T10 here in 2024 and he
21:44 was fifth at the PGA Championship last year.
21:47 And then the current form is not great,
21:48 but none of these guys have amazing current form.
21:50 I guess Yellamraju probably has the best.
21:53 But listen, the recent course form for Pendrith is pretty good.
21:57 You can say Conners' track record here is okay.
22:00 Taylor doesn't have a good track record.
22:01 Hughes is not in very good form even though
22:04 his caddy is a high school classmate of mine.
22:06 So, we do like him for that.
22:08 And Yellamraju is a newcomer to the to the Quail Hollow.
22:12 So, yeah, I'm going to fade that.
22:13 We're going Taylor Pendrith plus 290.
22:16 Now, on the next screen Can I just say no no no no hold on hold on hold on.
22:20 It's a home game model, Jason.
22:22 No, no, I like the play.
22:23 I just feel like a proud dad right now cuz it was a couple of months ago
22:26 when I brought up Yellamraju on the show
22:29 and EC tried to pronounce it and it was like,
22:31 "Yum Madhavaraju." And it just it didn't happen.
22:34 Now, it's just it's rolling off the tongue like you talk about him all the time.
22:37 I'm so proud of you and I I like the play.
22:40 You know, we're going to start with the DP
22:43 World Tour names coming up after the PGA Championship.
22:46 We need to start working on those.
22:48 That We We Mandagi or whatever his name was,
22:51 whatever that guy Christie Yeah, well, good luck with that.
22:55 I'm still I'm never going to pronounce that right, but thank you.
22:57 All right.
22:58 So, Patrick gave this whole story about Robert MacIntyre
23:03 and I didn't think about that before this next screen.
23:05 So, we're just going to ignore my picks for now and we'll start
23:09 with with Patrick who has a couple of top 20s at a nice price.
23:13 So, go ahead.
23:15 Yeah, Sobel will like this one cuz I bet on him every single week
23:18 just trying to make Matt McCardy happen and it has been happening for me.
23:22 He has four straight top 25 finishes.
23:24 One of them was a team event, of course,
23:26 but back-to-back top 10s and signature events, too.
23:29 We like that.
23:30 Hit the ball great at the Cadillac.
23:32 Top three in terms of strokes gained approach.
23:35 So, I'm going to go top 20 at three to one.
23:38 And then another guy who's been hitting the ball great is Sam Stevens.
23:41 Finished top 20 there at the Cadillac, too.
23:43 Bigger ballparks, I think, is the name of the game for this guy.
23:46 Finished fifth at Memorial Park.
23:48 Had a good uh run at the Masters, too.
23:51 I think he might have tied McCardy like T24 at the Masters.
23:55 So, I'm going to go with him for a top 20 as well at two and a half to one.
24:00 See ya.
24:01 Couple of top 20s as well.
24:02 Shorter prices, but some recent successful golfers
24:06 who are a little aged, we'll say.
24:08 Full disclosure.
24:09 These are the same finishing position guys I had last week and I
24:12 think I I think I had them both in the top 20 market.
24:15 And again, I think Doral is is a pretty
24:17 good comp to what we're going to see this week.
24:20 So, I I I like Adam Scott and Gary Woodland in this tournament.
24:23 Plus 110 top 20 for Adam Scott.
24:25 Gary Woodland plus 188.
24:28 Fair enough.
24:29 All right, Sobel, you have a top 10 bet with Patrick's boy, Ricky Fowler.
24:34 Yeah, I can't believe it's been 14 years since Ricky Fowler
24:37 won this tournament in a playoff over Rory McIlroy and D.A.
24:40 Points who never seems to fit into that one still 14 years later,
24:43 but that was his first win.
24:45 You could have got probably good money on under six wins,
24:48 six and a half wins at this point in his career.
24:50 He's still stuck on six.
24:51 I think he gets another one maybe at some point this summer.
24:55 He's playing some really good golf right now.
24:57 I'm going to take him for a top 10 here at a pretty good number plus 275.
25:00 Then we've talked about Alex Smalley playing some really good
25:03 golf right now and I love him for a top 20.
25:06 Again, top 20 market is really nice in these limited fields.
25:09 I know we've talked about it throughout this year,
25:11 throughout the last couple of years with these signature events.
25:14 You have to finish in what,
25:14 the top 27th percentile of this field and that's not saying too much.
25:19 There are some guys that you can pretty
25:21 much cross off the list before we even start.
25:23 So top 20 I like those plays and I like the numbers.
25:26 Hey real quick EC, I just wanted to point
25:28 out I'm pretty sure if my memory serves correctly,
25:31 the numbers I have are from BetMGM.
25:33 I think in at least in the finishing position market,
25:36 I think they were a lot better than than DK and FanDuel.
25:38 Not always the case with all markets but but I did want to give
25:41 MGM a shout out there cuz I think they were distinctly better including ties.
25:45 And and EC, as you always say,
25:47 if you're not parlaying like like I do, shop around.
25:51 Try to find the best number.
25:52 So it doesn't hurt to look at different sportsbooks.
25:54 Occasionally there are mistakes.
25:56 There was actually a mistake on on a couple
25:58 of sportsbooks about the winning score.
25:59 They had the winning score for this event at what the the one
26:04 that the DP World Tour should have been and vice versa.
26:06 So they were switched.
26:07 So those people who made that who found that, I think it was FanDuel,
26:11 might have gotten some really two really good bets on that.
26:13 So well done on that.
26:14 Okay.
26:15 I didn't know about I I didn't not that I didn't
26:17 know but I just forgot about Robert MacIntyre's antics at Augusta.
26:21 Shame on you.
26:23 Shame on you, EC.
26:24 Listen.
26:25 Patrick, he's a great driver and he's a great putter.
26:27 by betting You are driver.
26:29 You are pro-violence on the golf course.
26:31 Listen, you know, everybody flips the bird on the course.
26:34 We all have done that at some point.
26:36 [snorts] He's a great driver and he's a great putter.
26:38 And he's a great iron player.
26:40 Fair enough.
26:41 Okay.
26:42 Listen, Bob MacIntyre top five plus 590.
26:44 Top 10 plus 270.
26:46 Top 20 plus 106.
26:47 This is my ladder play of the week.
26:49 He has three three 10s this season and all were in the top four.
26:52 So, you know what?
26:53 We're going to take a shot at Bob McIntyre, and if not,
26:56 I will flip the bird to Bob McIntyre on this show,
26:58 figuratively, [laughter] next week.
27:00 And then, how about how about this top 10 parlay?
27:02 This is a gift.
27:03 I'm telling you, this is a gift from DK.
27:05 Thank you, DK.
27:06 Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele.
27:08 Two best course histories here.
27:10 What could go wrong?
27:11 Plus 225.
27:12 Tread carefully, just cuz I said that.
27:14 We all know how this how this works.
27:16 But, it.
27:17 I love that number.
27:18 Now, coming up next, we have four new names on the no bet list.
27:21 These guys don't know who they are.
27:23 I didn't tell them beforehand.
27:25 We're going to see what they think.
27:27 I think some of you have outrights on at least
27:30 one of the new players on the list.
27:32 We will find out.
27:33 But, please, first of all, hit the like button.
27:35 Uh before we go to break here, please hit the like button.
27:37 We need more likes, cuz we know you want to see the new the uh no bet list.
27:40 Coming up next, after we hear from one of our sponsors.
27:52 Gamebred is in the building.
27:57 [music] Chris Weidman.
27:59 Dean Thomas.
28:00 Are you ready?
28:01 Oh, boy.
28:02 This one is going to be crazy.
28:06 [music] All right, you guys ready for this one?
28:09 It's time for the no bet list additions,
28:12 our first since I added Hideki Matsuyama and Patrick Cantlay several months ago.
28:17 And here we go.
28:18 We're going to start with Maverick McNealy,
28:20 who never contends when it's not on the West Coast.
28:23 He's out.
28:24 Michael Thorbjornsen, I'm sick of losing money with this guy.
28:28 You saw what he did in in the last round of the Players, I'm out.
28:33 Here's the thing about Sam Burns.
28:34 So, you guys talked him up on the show last week,
28:36 and I bet him to finish in the top 20.
28:38 He had four feet for birdie on his 10th hole,
28:42 on the first hole, uh on Sunday, and he ended up with a bogey.
28:46 So, you know what?
28:47 That's enough to get you on this list.
28:50 You're done, Sam Burns.
28:51 I am not wasting money on you.
28:53 And finally, I think we talked about this last week, Viktor Hovland.
28:57 I had him on the list last year and he got an X through his name.
29:01 He's not getting an X through his name.
29:03 We We've seen the peak of Viktor Hovland.
29:05 All right, Sobel, I'll start with you.
29:07 Do you have any problems with the four new additions?
29:10 I do.
29:10 So, first of all, I would like to shout out Patrick McDonald
29:13 who gave the Sam Burns over Russell Henley match-up play last week.
29:18 We went on HQ the next day and I stole his play.
29:21 I gave up on it throughout the week cuz
29:23 Burns started so badly in the first couple of rounds.
29:26 He wound up winning that by one,
29:28 so that was a really nice one to you know, a come from behind win on that.
29:32 And yeah, I'm going to You're going to see in a minute.
29:34 I like Sam Burns this week as well.
29:35 I think Sam Burns wins at some point.
29:38 Seeya.
29:38 Any thoughts?
29:39 Okay.
29:40 I I actually love this.
29:41 First of all, I'll start with Viktor Hovland.
29:44 I actually had him last week.
29:45 I I might have been in the without market cuz I I really liked the number.
29:49 It does feel like he's falling a little bit further than than I want him to.
29:52 So, I don't mind you you having that.
29:54 Sam Burns I do like, but I don't mind that one.
29:57 But, the ones I love Maverick McNealy and Michael Thorbjornsen.
30:02 Anytime people pick these guys to win a tournament,
30:04 sorry Jeff Steinberg in the chat,
30:06 like they talk about them like they are you know,
30:09 they're it's going to be like a Ludwig situation or even better.
30:13 And I just feel like, you know,
30:16 those big eyes about these two guys are just misplaced.
30:19 I am totally with you on Mav McNealy and Michael Thorbjornsen.
30:23 Patrick, of those new four additions,
30:25 which is most likely to have an X through their name at some point this summer?
30:30 Hovland's good for a random win, I would say.
30:33 And then I think Thor it's just he's way too young
30:37 to like give up on and say he's not going to win.
30:39 So, I don't know if it's going to be this summer,
30:42 but if it carries over to next year,
30:45 I I could see him having an X through his name.
30:48 But, like Burns is probably playing the best out of all of them,
30:52 and I talked him up last week like Jason said, but When was it the match play?
30:56 22?
30:58 23?
30:59 When he won that?
31:00 That's his last win on the PGA tour to me.
31:02 last win Yeah, it's it's been a while now.
31:05 So, I like to clear something out from the chat right
31:07 now cuz Joseph Boson said that I made 75k off Sam Burns,
31:11 and someone else I think David Zukowski said, "No way made 75k off Burns." No,
31:15 my match-up bet Burns over Henley was not for 75k.
31:18 I think he's talking about the one and done.
31:20 I made 75k.
31:21 That was not a $75,000 [laughter]
31:23 That was a one That was a one unit play from Sobel.
31:27 I was going to say [laughter] the same thing, Patrick.
31:29 A one unit play.
31:30 Wait, listen, when Sobel hits one of those parlays,
31:32 he's going to start having unit plays at 75k.
31:35 All right.
31:36 Very close last week.
31:37 By the way, had three legs of a Cam Young, Nelly Korda,
31:41 Stewart Cink with another guy that I'm going to talk about in a little bit here,
31:45 Yacoub Škoda Olsen, who's going to win this week.
31:48 If he was top five last week, if that comes through, we're close to that 75k.
31:52 It was up there.
31:53 All right.
31:54 Uh let's bring in let's bring in Josh who's going
31:56 to join us for the last several segments of the show.
32:00 Josh, welcome.
32:01 Do you have any issues with the four names I added to the no bet list?
32:06 Not really.
32:07 Like if I was power ranking the guys, I'd be most worried about.
32:10 None of those guys would like jump to the top of the list,
32:14 but you probably one of those four probably wins cuz Victor is weird,
32:20 and you know, Thor might win on a week
32:23 that we don't do this show, like in the fall.
32:25 He might get away with something like that, but
32:28 Doesn't count for the bet the no bet list.
32:30 I I I think I think that's fair, but
32:33 like he's got John Deere written all over him.
32:35 Something, yeah.
32:36 3M perhaps?
32:38 By the way, Scotty in the 3M, yes.
32:40 Just want to see Scotty playing the 3M, I think.
32:43 Why Why is he doing that, Patrick?
32:44 Why would you go all take that flight from Europe
32:47 to go play in the 3M right after Isn't that weird?
32:51 Hey, man.
32:51 He He's just giving back to the PGA Tour.
32:53 Man of the tour.
32:55 Well, skip Quail Hollow and go play the 3M instead.
32:58 Teach their own.
32:58 Okay, let's see what we have for outrights.
33:00 Uh I don't even know what to expect on this list.
33:03 Uh but Sobel, we're going to start with you.
33:05 You are not afraid of Rory McIlroy.
33:07 You're not afraid of Xander Schauffele.
33:09 You're not afraid of Cam Young or Matt Fitzpatrick.
33:11 You're playing them all uh in the uh in the regular market.
33:15 Look what C did last week.
33:17 He took Cam Young in the without Scottie Scheffler market and he
33:20 didn't make as much money as he could have just taking him overall.
33:22 So, we should learn from our mistakes here
33:25 and I'm not going with the without market here, but I I love Ludvig this week.
33:29 I know people are saying he can't get it done.
33:32 He fades when he gets into contention.
33:33 I know it's happened at the Players Championship, happened at the Valero,
33:37 but guy's got four top fives in his last five starts.
33:40 You look at the stat profile, he's been absolutely fantastic.
33:43 He's going to win.
33:44 He's going to win something big pretty soon.
33:46 I like it here.
33:47 It's a good course fit for him,
33:48 even though he hasn't played well in a couple
33:50 of starts at Quail Hollow in the past.
33:52 He wasn't playing well coming into those weeks,
33:53 so firing on all cylinders right now.
33:56 Love Ludvig.
33:57 And then I'm going back to the well on Sam Burns.
33:59 You know how often we pick a guy, at least for me personally,
34:02 pick a guy to win and then he doesn't play well
34:05 and then the next week like crossed off the last list.
34:07 He's put him on the do not bet list.
34:09 We're not going to touch him.
34:10 And then they go out and win the next week.
34:12 Sam Burns has a nice record, 13th and 19th in his last two starts at Quail.
34:16 I'm going to stick with Sam Burns.
34:17 I think he can win something uh pretty good soon enough.
34:20 And then Ben Griffin is a momentum type of player.
34:24 Last year, he had two instances of back-to-back top
34:27 five finishes when he uh he had a win and then went second at Memorial and then
34:31 he had another time when he went uh fourth, fourth back-to-back.
34:34 He was third last week at Doral.
34:36 I know the first 3 months of the season were not great for Ben Griffin,
34:40 but he's starting to step on the gas
34:41 pedal back in his home state of North Carolina.
34:44 Like everything about him this week, and that's a really good number.
34:47 Patrick, a single bullet here on Matt Fitzpatrick,
34:50 hottest player in the PGA Tour.
34:52 Okay, who's the hottest player in the world?
34:54 Is it uh Fitzpatrick, Young, Nelly Korda, or Stewart Cink?
34:59 No.
35:01 Korda.
35:02 Okay.
35:02 Well, Cink's Cink's close.
35:04 Cink is close.
35:05 Uh he's going to be a future vice playing captain.
35:08 Can't wait for that.
35:09 Um yeah, Matt Fitzpatrick 18 to 1.
35:12 Like you mentioned, this this guy might never lose again.
35:15 Finished top 10 at Quail Hollow last year,
35:18 his first uh and only good start at this tournament,
35:21 which uh or at this golf course, which is nice.
35:25 And he he's probably um top two or three ball striker in this field.
35:30 He ranks in the top 10 in both off the tee and approach,
35:33 so we love that, and it just depends on the putting.
35:35 So, going to go with Fitz.
35:36 It was a much longer than I expected.
35:40 Uh when you put him next to Ludwig, past Xander,
35:44 I I think uh I think you got to bet it at this number.
35:47 Sia, are you ready for the pressure of going back-to-back?
35:51 And you have three guys in the without market, which you know I love.
35:54 Yeah, I I'm actually kind of embarrassed
35:56 at some of these numbers in the without market, but just in general,
35:58 cuz these got beat down like I I bet Adam Scott at 40
36:01 to 1 in the with market when the the odds came out on Sunday,
36:05 and then they got he got down to 33, and then in the without market it's 22.
36:09 With that said, when I look at the four people in the without market,
36:13 all four of these guys are clearly playing the best golf relative to the field,
36:17 and that's not always the case.
36:18 Like sometimes, you'll you'll get a without the big four market,
36:20 and it'll be like Scotty, Rory, then like a a little drop to Fleetwood,
36:24 and And like the next best guys like Si Woo Kim.
36:26 No offense to everybody EC who who has Siwoo Kim in this tournament,
36:29 but like all four of these guys
36:32 can win this legitimately can win this tournament.
36:34 And so I just like taking them out of play.
36:36 Obviously, I'm losing some money here if I end up winning like I did last week,
36:40 but I I I talked about Oberg already.
36:41 I I I don't love Oberg in general,
36:43 but I do feel like this is a very good place for him to win.
36:46 And I feel like the form is in very good shape.
36:49 Adam Scott, Gary Woodland,
36:50 you can copy and paste my argument from last week or from earlier
36:53 in the show when I talked about the first round leaders,
36:55 but I think they're great course fits and we've seen
36:58 them put at least three rounds together over the last month.
37:01 I think they can do four.
37:04 I can't believe I'm doing this.
37:05 Uh sorry Xander, I'm picking you.
37:07 You better deliver here.
37:10 Uh listen, I the number just thrown 12 to 1.
37:12 So the way I look at it was
37:13 Rory hasn't won back-to-back individual stroke play events.
37:16 Notice how I phrased that.
37:18 Since 2014.
37:20 Now I'm not counting the Zurich Tourist in 2024.
37:23 So Rory's not going to win.
37:25 Fitzpatrick and Cam Young, they they got to cool down at some point.
37:28 Xander, you got to you got to make Patrick McDonald proud.
37:30 I mean he he had all that money on you for the Masters.
37:33 You didn't get it done.
37:35 You have four top nines in the last six
37:37 and you haven't really contended in any of those.
37:39 So it's time.
37:40 So Siwoo Kim is as C you mentioned, this number is gross.
37:43 I hate it, but we're getting a Siwoo Kim hot streak.
37:45 Top 10s in his last three excluding Augusta.
37:48 Fourth in strokes gained approach on the year.
37:50 Six straight top 11s around the world from November to February.
37:53 So it's time for another Siwoo hot streak.
37:56 All you got to do is finish like second or third and I'll feel happy about that.
38:00 And then I think you referenced them earlier uh Patrick, I think it was you.
38:02 Uh Harris English.
38:04 Uh I'm playing the 33 to 1 here in the without market.
38:07 I mean, he came out of nowhere last year, got that T2 in the at the PGA.
38:11 And in 2023 here he was T3.
38:14 So the current form is not amazing,
38:17 but what I do like is that we see a long a lot of long approach shots.
38:21 And he's sixth in greens in regulation percentage
38:23 from 200 or more yards on tour this season, and that is crucial at Quail Hollow.
38:29 So, at that number, 33 to 1 in the without market,
38:31 I'll take a shot on Harris English.
38:33 Now, Josh, first of all, I know you weren't on the show last week,
38:36 but I want to congratulate you for the outright
38:38 a couple weeks ago at the Zurich with the Fitzpatricks.
38:41 But, does that give you the excuse to pick
38:44 a 6 to 1 Rory McIlroy in this segment?
38:49 The The justification here is I I just don't understand why he's not
38:54 priced way closer to the Scottie
38:56 Scheffler treatment without Scottie in the field.
39:00 I mean, Scottie was like 3 to 1 to win the Cadillac last week,
39:04 and Scottie's not in this event.
39:05 Rory, I mean, we we every other
39:08 sentence is Rory McIlroy Country Club, Rory's playground.
39:12 I He's If he plays well, he's going to win the golf tournament.
39:16 So, I just think it should be somewhere closer to 4 to 1 than than 6 to 1.
39:21 So, that's That's mostly the argument there.
39:25 So, Rory 6 to 1, Ludwig 17 and 1/2 to 1.
39:31 Um obviously, the the profile makes sense for a place like this.
39:36 He missed the cut here at the PGA last year,
39:38 but he was two under on Friday standing on the 16th
39:42 tee and finished bogey double double to miss the cut.
39:46 So, I mean, if he just doesn't throw up on those last three holes,
39:52 he very well could have finished, you know, top 15 or something.
39:55 Now, am I thrilled about picking him when
39:58 the last time he he played those three holes?
40:01 He played them in five over.
40:02 Not necessarily.
40:03 Talk to me again on Sunday, but um obviously,
40:07 Ludwig at a place where you need to hit it far,
40:10 carry it far, and uh and hit long irons high.
40:13 I I I think you you can't get much better than than Ludvig in those categories.
40:19 And then uh Alex Fitzpatrick 94 to 1 without without
40:24 Rory and his brother and Xander and and Cam Young.
40:27 He's just playing awesome golf um and has
40:32 a game that I think fits here pretty nicely.
40:35 So, um he can he can finish fifth in a perfect world,
40:39 not have to beat any of those guys, and and that cashes.
40:42 I want to give a shout out in the chat
40:43 to Mike Miller cuz this is a great great comment here.
40:47 You parlay Rory, you parlay a guy to hit a home run tonight,
40:50 and you're getting Rory at 40 to 1.
40:52 See, that's what I'm talking That is creative thinking,
40:54 [laughter] and I'm here for it.
40:57 I would go with Max Muncy personally of all the of of the guys on the Dodgers,
41:00 but and you get over 40 to 1.
41:02 But, I'll tell you what, that's brilliant, Mike.
41:04 We're glad I I I love those suggestions.
41:06 It always makes me happy to read that in the comments.
41:08 This long shots page, I'm just warning you guys.
41:11 This long shots page is going to be like
41:14 a long shots page you have never seen before.
41:17 I I'm almost afraid for Matt to put it on screen.
41:20 It might take a while to load cuz there's so much to go up there.
41:24 So, so but we'll just wait for you to I guess What?
41:30 [laughter] Uh you know, the first of all, before we get to the before Sorry.
41:32 Man, why even put mine up there?
41:35 [laughter] Well, that's like Uh and we'll go back to Myrtle Beach in a second.
41:41 fight.
41:41 I I I just I So, you know, we'll start we'll start with Myrtle Beach.
41:44 I I went out of order here.
41:45 I was so excited for this.
41:46 All right, you guys have picks in Myrtle Beach.
41:48 Patrick, we'll start with You have a couple of guys
41:50 that really haven't done a lot on tour this year,
41:53 but then again, this is Myrtle Beach.
41:54 So, who you got?
41:55 Yeah, I I got Eric Cole, the Cole Train, uh 55 to 1.
42:01 Finished T uh inside the top 15 in San Antonio.
42:05 Had I had I I've no idea who he played with at the Zurich,
42:08 but I'm looking at his result page, and he finished T6.
42:10 So, that kind of sums up the Zurich Classic.
42:13 I feel like um but dude's just got to hit fairways.
42:17 If he hits fairways,
42:18 the rest of the game's in in good shape relative to the rest of this field.
42:23 I don't know why I did this one,
42:24 but kind of just sought me out and it's Tom Kim 60 to 1.
42:30 Not a lot to back on it except this guy's
42:33 a multiple-time PGA Tour winner and in you know,
42:36 that that's a lot for this field.
42:37 So, we're going with that, too.
42:40 So, speaking of a lot for this field, I guess I'll go to you next, Josh.
42:43 Why taking the chalk all over the place?
42:46 Brooks Koepka 17 to 1.
42:47 Ouch.
42:49 Yes.
42:50 I'm I mean, I'll I'll I'll let you guys handle the value.
42:54 I'll pick the guys that I actually think are going to win tournaments.
42:58 Yeah, I get it.
42:59 Yeah, I'll take my plus EV to the to the bank.
43:03 [laughter] A couple things.
43:06 I mean, we're not very deep into Myrtle
43:09 in in terms of it existing as a tournament, but the two guys who have won here,
43:13 it's just like yeah, those guys are PGA like bonafide PGA Tour
43:16 winners in Ryan Fox and and Chris Gotterup.
43:20 Those are the two winners of this golf tournament.
43:23 Um and I don't know like the guy I mean, Brooks has has played you know,
43:28 some some decent golf kind of on and off, but you know,
43:32 a strong finish at the Masters and I think
43:36 it hurts Brooks a little bit that that he's got
43:38 to play this golf tournament after not getting into signature
43:41 events and he's got to go play an Oppo field event.
43:43 That's probably not what he was envisioning for his return to the PGA Tour.
43:48 If you asked him, he probably thought he'd be
43:50 in the big boy events at this point in the year.
43:55 So, let's just you know,
43:57 let's just show up with a little bit of swagger and and and win
44:00 the golf tournament and and move on from this portion of his return.
44:06 Um but really I just think like this tournament is
44:09 won by by guys that in hindsight is just like, yeah,
44:12 that's that's a PGA Tour winner in in the best fields and in really good fields
44:18 and and I think Brooks Koepka is
44:20 at the top of that list in this particular field.
44:23 All right, Sobel, uh, you also have Brooks Koepka,
44:25 but we haven't seen Austin Eckroat really, I mean, I guess he won, what,
44:29 the other year one of those alternate fall events or something like that.
44:32 So, Vilips, this guy I talked about in the other week.
44:35 I mean, I guess it's it's an alternate event,
44:37 so I can't really argue with any of those three, right?
44:39 So, let me start with Koepka because I had no intention
44:42 of playing Koepka when the week started because as Josh mentioned,
44:45 you thought Rory was going to get the Scotty treatment at Qual.
44:47 I thought Brooks was going to get the Scotty treatment in Myrtle Beach.
44:50 I was expecting him to come out at four or five to one.
44:53 It's 17 to one.
44:54 I can't stay away, like Josh said,
44:56 he's the best player in this field and it's really not close.
44:59 You have to play him at 17 to one.
45:01 I I don't know that he's going to win,
45:02 but I feel pretty confident that if he wants to, if he's motivated,
45:06 he's going to go out and play well and he's just like he said,
45:09 he's just a better golfer.
45:10 It's like sending a PGA Tour player,
45:12 a regular PGA Tour player down to the Korn Ferry Tour.
45:15 It's essentially what he's doing this week and that's a really good number.
45:18 Never thought we were going to see something even in the double digits,
45:20 let alone 17 to one.
45:22 Austin Eckroat started to play some really good golf.
45:24 He was sixth alongside, who was he with?
45:26 Davis Thompson at the Zurich Classic a few weeks ago.
45:29 Two-time winner on the PGA Tour.
45:31 There aren't a whole lot of proven winners who are in this field,
45:34 so I like taking a guy who knows how to get it done.
45:36 Then Carl Vilips hit for C and I at an alternate field event last year.
45:41 He's starting to play some good golf.
45:42 It's really been about a year since Carl Vilips played good golf,
45:45 but over the last couple of starts, the stats look pretty good.
45:48 Pretty good number at 63 to one this week.
45:51 It's a C and the Jod special.
45:53 It is time for the Myrtle Beach Classic outrights, a five-pack.
45:58 Let's hear them.
45:58 Yeah, the the fifth of the five-pack is Pontus Nyholm at 110 to one.
46:02 You might hear a little bit more about him later in the show, believe it or not.
46:05 But Marco Penge, I think we can all agree Marco Penge has a ton of upside,
46:09 started to play well.
46:11 I mean, he's been up and down, but started to play well,
46:13 certainly is is a monster off the tee with the distance,
46:15 which should help out here.
46:18 I like him at 22-1.
46:19 Steven Yeager, I mean, very sporadic,
46:22 but like he's I think it was the Valspar where he was at T7.
46:26 Like he's been able to put it together this year, 40-1.
46:29 A PGA Tour veteran has got way more experience than
46:32 than some of these guys that we're putting money on.
46:34 Haotong Li great ball striker until he wasn't,
46:37 but then at the Masters he was really good for three
46:39 rounds and then just kind of blew it in the fourth.
46:41 So I think he has plenty of upside.
46:43 Speaking of upside, Blades Brown 49-1, like that.
46:46 And then I just mentioned Pontus Nyholm, who can just I mean,
46:48 off the tee is is an absolute giant and has had actually some flashes.
46:52 I think since March he's had three top 15s.
46:55 So I mean, he's he's been okay at certain tournaments.
46:58 Some awesome names on this card.
47:01 Minus Well, listen, Kepka, if he's ever going to win, right now.
47:05 I mean, the number of syllables say, you know what?
47:07 Sobel, you kind of talked me into it, Josh.
47:09 I apologize for for giving you crap for the 17-1.
47:12 Sobel kind of stated your case well enough.
47:15 All right.
47:16 We have two screams for long shots.
47:19 So we'll have Si Woo Kim last year because Si Woo Kim is a special scream.
47:24 I don't even know I don't even know where I want to start here.
47:28 Let me get out of the way.
47:30 I shouldn't even be like I shouldn't even be invited to this party.
47:33 I watched this basement and I feel out of place.
47:36 I'm turning around.
47:37 Shout out to Matt for putting cuz I had Alex Fitzpatrick
47:42 on my long shots and he said there's not enough room, I put it on outrights.
47:45 So I got to side step the the feeling like I don't belong.
47:50 So shout out to Matt.
47:51 Thanks a lot, Matt.
47:52 Really appreciate it.
47:54 God, people are making fun of me.
47:55 It's just not a good feeling, not a good vibe at this party right now.
47:59 It's a dark basement, nice and grimy.
48:01 Um Sahith Theegala, 100 to 1, playing good on big ballparks this year.
48:07 You look at Torrey, you look at uh Bay Hill, Memorial Park, all top 10 finishes.
48:14 So, giving him a try, giving him a spin.
48:16 And then Sam Stevens at a buck 1250,
48:20 uh looking to pick up that first PGA Tour win.
48:23 All right.
48:23 And I will leave the party.
48:25 You guys have fun.
48:27 You You know what?
48:28 I'm going to I'm actually going to go next here
48:29 because I I need to get out of the way, too.
48:31 All right, I got a I got a parlay uh at the Myrtle Beach.
48:34 We're going Marco Penge, Rasmus Neergaard Petersen,
48:36 and Casey Jarvis top 10 under 59 to 1.
48:40 And then I'm going one for each tournament we got a top 10.
48:43 We got Schauffele at the Truist.
48:44 We got Kevin Yu, who's back-to-back fourth-place finishes in Myrtle Beach.
48:47 Dean Burmester has been playing good golf on the LIV Tour,
48:50 and I just picked a name, uh Eugenio Uihlein Chacarra.
48:54 I don't know if I got that right, but close enough.
48:56 Uh in the on the DP World Tour, all top 10.
48:59 So, Schauffele, Yu, Burmester, and Chacarra at a little under 64 to 1.
49:03 Okay.
49:04 I will get out of the way for Jason Sobel cuz I don't I mean,
49:08 who doesn't want to make $5 million?
49:10 All right, Sobel, what do you got?
49:11 All right.
49:11 So, a few things.
49:12 First of all, if this hits, I'm buying LIV next week.
49:16 Like that's it.
49:16 I'm Like it's my league.
49:18 We're going to call it Sobel Golf League,
49:19 and I'm going to probably change some things,
49:21 maybe buy a few more players with the leftover change I've got in my pocket.
49:24 Uh Secondly, yes, this looks ridiculous.
49:26 I get it.
49:27 We're all having fun.
49:28 It says they're parlay {slash} round robin.
49:31 All you need is two of these players to win, and I like all of them.
49:33 I have done my research on all of these.
49:36 I've done way too much research on the LPGA,
49:39 on the DP World Tour, on LIV this week.
49:41 I I've done a lot of looking around at who I like.
49:44 And this is what I came up with.
49:46 So, uh not just pulling names out of a hat.
49:48 These are guys that I really like.
49:49 And if you round robin them,
49:51 and I think it's like $36 if you go a dollar on each.
49:55 Two of them win, you're going to be up, and you're going to be up pretty good
49:57 for the the entire week in this entire bet.
49:59 So, uh it's Hovland we talked about the truest kept guy talked about it Myrtle.
50:03 Uh Jacob Skolk Ollesen,
50:05 who again I had last week in a parlay with Young and Korda and Si Woo Kim,
50:10 and he finished top five.
50:11 That Saturday round really killed the parlay.
50:13 Would have been a very very nice one.
50:15 But, he's playing some good golf.
50:16 He should be a good course fit this week as well.
50:19 Charlie Hall at Liberty National the wind always blows there.
50:22 I've been there a bunch of times.
50:24 Uh I'm just taking a player that plays well in windy conditions.
50:27 No Nelly this week.
50:28 So, Jin Young Ko is the favorite in the field.
50:31 I don't necessarily trust her game right now.
50:33 She missed the cut in her last start at the Chevron.
50:36 Tyrrell Hatton I'm looking at Rahm's got things swirling around.
50:39 Bryson was I think at the White House today.
50:41 I'm looking for a good player at LIV, but I'm going to fade those two.
50:44 So, I think Hatton coming off a a really good
50:46 uh uh start at the Masters a few weeks ago.
50:49 I'm I'm going to take Hatton at this one,
50:51 and then I almost don't love Stewart Cink.
50:54 He's playing great golf.
50:55 Four wins already this year.
50:56 He won last week.
50:57 He's won this event uh last year.
50:59 He's the defending champion.
51:01 I almost might want to switch that to a Zach Johnson,
51:03 but it feels ridiculous to not play Cink,
51:06 and I probably don't need to uh get the odds any longer on this anyway.
51:10 So, uh $1 4.7 million bank it.
51:15 See you.
51:16 I I don't know how you uh take the floor from there.
51:18 But, first of all, an early happy birthday to you a week early.
51:21 Uh next Monday I believe it is.
51:23 I'm sure you will do plenty of celebrating on the Early Edge that day.
51:26 However, we won't see you till next Tuesday.
51:29 Uh you have some specials for us.
51:31 Do tell.
51:32 Yeah, so let's just do a a three-leg outright parlay,
51:35 and we'll do the round robin thing where we can hit two out of three.
51:37 Ludwig uh in the without market.
51:40 Steven Yeager in in for for for this parlay, I'm doing it in the without market.
51:44 I don't have to worry about Brooks and and a host of others.
51:46 And uh you Is it Uihlein Ferguson?
51:48 Uihlein Ferguson or U Win Ferguson on the DP World Tour?
51:53 $1 pays $10,869.37.
51:59 Don't forget it.
52:00 Big 37.
52:02 100%.
52:02 Do not forget.
52:03 10,000.
52:04 What was it?
52:04 $1 $1 $1.
52:06 Save it.
52:07 Put it in your phone.
52:08 C, you have something else for us, I believe, don't you?
52:11 I do.
52:11 So, it's my birthday on 5/11.
52:13 So, I I'm doing I'm going to do a few of these, probably.
52:17 I wagered $5.11 on a uh just a two-legger.
52:20 So, it's two legs, no big deal, right?
52:22 Sudarshan Yellamraju, who opened at 155 to 1,
52:25 is now probably down to like 130 to 1.
52:28 Uh but, this one I thought was in I I wonder
52:32 if I did this in the No, I guess I didn't.
52:34 Sudarshan to win and Pontus Nyholm.
52:36 I thought Sudarshan was in the without market.
52:39 So, I'll have to go back and check that.
52:41 It is.
52:41 Oh, it is.
52:41 It is.
52:42 Oh, okay.
52:43 Oh, I see it now.
52:44 I'm sorry.
52:44 Okay.
52:45 I see it.
52:45 Um Sudarshan in the without market uh and Pontus Nyholm,
52:49 who again was is in that 100 to 110 to 1 range.
52:52 Uh $5.11 pays $48,207.74.
52:56 The one thing I will say about Sudarshan Yellamraju,
52:58 obviously for four rounds, we're not expecting it from him.
53:02 But, if you're talking about a guy that can go low at any given moment
53:05 and at least has shown the potential to do it over a round or two or three,
53:09 Yellamraju is certainly that guy.
53:11 So, when you look at his odds, his long shot odds at like 155 to 1,
53:16 something like that, uh or in the without market at a at a lower score,
53:20 I I feel like he's at least worth a look.
53:22 I like the without.
53:23 He's been kind of a a Sunday bandit, too.
53:26 Like a super back door T3 behind Xander and Rory.
53:31 Yeah, I like it.
53:32 $5.11, remember that.
53:35 That's our That's our key number this weekend.
53:38 $5.11 parlays.
53:40 That's for C.
53:41 That's what we all are going to do.
53:42 I hope you in the chat will listen.
53:44 Now, where it's going to be more Sia here because sorry Josh,
53:49 Sia and I have rocketed up the OAD boards here by Patrick.
53:53 Patrick hit it to you.
53:54 I had Cam Young, too.
53:56 Okay, I mean you're you [laughter] got up there.
53:58 It's been all Oh man, Sia man.
54:01 It's like I'm hanging out over here, man.
54:03 You're Listen.
54:04 Come on.
54:06 Congrats to KB.
54:07 How about Hepster?
54:08 Is that our guy?
54:09 That our guy Hepster?
54:10 Second?
54:11 Wow.
54:12 Hepster, yeah, he's in the chat, I think.
54:14 Yeah.
54:15 Hep, way to go.
54:16 Listen, Sia T21, you're coming for I haven't seen I
54:20 hope you're not you and I are not aligned this week.
54:23 Patrick, great job moving up to 22.
54:24 So what?
54:26 Uh Two.
54:27 I got I got two.
54:28 up two spots, like he said.
54:30 Slow and steady wins the race.
54:31 We're getting there.
54:32 Two people forgot to put in picks.
54:34 Okay, let's see what we got this week.
54:38 I All right, Sia.
54:40 Ludvig, let's hear it.
54:41 Are you also Oh, you're on Xander, okay.
54:43 That's interesting.
54:45 Yeah, I I haven't really been on Ludvig all year.
54:47 I happen to be on him this week
54:49 in in the outright market kind of without market.
54:52 Again, I think he's a great course fit.
54:53 I don't mind using him this week and I've used a lot of the big guns,
54:56 if I'm being honest.
54:57 And I still have some left.
54:58 I still have Fitzpatrick left and and a couple of other lesser names,
55:01 but I think Ludvig can win.
55:03 So let's bring on another 3.6 million dollars.
55:06 Okay.
55:07 Patrick, anything to add?
55:09 Go sign.
55:10 Not going to use him in a major,
55:11 so use him in a big money event and uh great fit this week.
55:15 Playing good golf.
55:16 Josh, anything to add?
55:18 Nope.
55:19 Just thrilled I'm not going anywhere near as chalk as Xander Schauffele, so.
55:24 Listen, Patrick.
55:25 This is it's time.
55:27 It's time for Xander to make I'm got I have to get ahead of Sia.
55:31 Somehow it's probably never going to happen and I
55:33 understand that, but this is your time, Xander.
55:36 This is the one time in life I have a chance to jump.
55:40 See you.
55:41 And and be potentially inside the top 20.
55:43 And by the way, now I'm in the top 10% after that Cam Young win.
55:47 So, I mean, we already did one section
55:49 of the dating profile and I had some dates.
55:52 I'm not going to lie.
55:52 I went on a little hot streak the other week of dates.
55:56 What?
55:56 Not saying that we had any uh not
55:58 not saying that we had any great success there.
56:01 What's going on?
56:02 And then we don't have a future miss Listen, we had uh we had a good stretch.
56:07 It was like a hitting streak.
56:08 We had a nice little hit streak and then it ended.
56:10 So, uh we're going Listen, Xander,
56:13 you're going to you're going to play well this week and get it done.
56:16 Meanwhile, Jason Sobel.
56:18 Um 631k.
56:21 I'm assuming you probably missed a few weeks to put it in.
56:23 You're not going to miss this one.
56:24 Ben Griffin, that's you're you're just going off the board here, right?
56:28 If I hit my parlay, do I get to take that money and put it into my one and done?
56:33 [laughter] I would I would allow it.
56:34 I don't I don't flash I'm still I'm still in last place.
56:39 [laughter] 4.7 million on my parlay.
56:40 Uh look, Ludvig's going to win.
56:42 You guys are going to all celebrate and high-five
56:45 next week cuz you picked the one and done winner.
56:46 I'm going to make money on this because I've got Ludvig everywhere and I'm going
56:49 to take Ben Griffin because I have a little bit of catching up to do.
56:53 Just a little bit.
56:53 Just a little bit.
56:54 Okay.
56:56 Before we get going,
56:57 next week is a big show and we've talked about this the last few weeks.
57:00 Does anyone have a PGA Championship ad uh that you want
57:06 to throw on your card early to get a better I mean,
57:08 if you bet Cam Young last week for the PGA Championship, pretty good.
57:12 Sobel, what do you got?
57:13 I mentioned on the show last week when I was talking about Cam Young.
57:16 He was 20 to 1 before [snorts] the Cadillac Championship for the PGA.
57:21 Halfway through the event last week, he moved to 14 to 1 in some books.
57:25 He might even be shorter than that right now.
57:27 So, we talked about this.
57:29 I've been saying Cam for the PGA for about 6 months now.
57:32 Still on him there.
57:33 Still have some futures on him, but that's my guy.
57:35 I'm not moving from it.
57:37 Patrick, I'm I'm a little concerned here that Xander's
57:40 going to be your guy again next week.
57:42 No, my preseason pick for the PGA was Cam Young.
57:45 So, I'll stick to my preseason picks.
57:47 Xander I have for the US Open again.
57:49 I thought he'd complete the career grand slam.
57:51 Didn't really work out with the Masters.
57:53 Um I'll ask you guys this.
57:56 Rory, Scotty, Fitzpatrick, Young, or the field next week.
58:02 Who you got?
58:04 Those four.
58:05 Those four.
58:06 I think so, too.
58:07 Josh?
58:08 Those four.
58:10 I'll take the field just to make it interesting.
58:13 Oh.
58:14 We can't college game day them, you know?
58:16 Not so Not so fast, my friend over there.
58:20 Uh by the way, Patrick,
58:21 I just wanted to give you my condolences on the Penguins since last week.
58:24 I I hadn't done that earlier in the show.
58:26 You are just going in on me today.
58:28 That was late.
58:30 Figured 58 minutes into the show we had to had to reference.
58:32 I told I mean, they telegraphed it, right?
58:35 We knew they were going to get the hopes up and then they were going to lose.
58:37 And the worst part was they dominated dominated the game.
58:41 And that's the one they lose.
58:42 It happens.
58:42 See you.
58:43 You got anything for us next week or anything
58:44 else you want to you want to shout out?
58:46 Yeah, DP World Tour picks for Catalonia.
58:49 Ferguson, who was in that crazy parlay $1 wins 10,000 and change with 37 cents.
58:55 Crusard at 40 to 1, Van Driel at 48 to 1, and Davis Bryant at 115 to 1.
59:02 I might add Dan Bradbury at 44 to 1, but that's four guys.
59:05 Ferguson, Crusard, Van Driel, and Bryant.
59:08 I Adam It pays It pays to watch live just
59:11 so you can get those four or those five picks.
59:13 Four or five picks.
59:14 From seeing you guys talk offline.
59:16 We We got some We got some discussions to have.
59:18 You You hate my picks?
59:20 A little bit.
59:21 Oh.
59:22 It's a Isn't it a ball striker's course for the most part?
59:25 A little short game action?
59:26 Yeah.
59:27 Olesen, I've got some Manassero this week.
59:31 Uh by the way, Farzad,
59:32 that is a really disappointing What about a Nathan Nathan Kimsey?
59:38 Anything on there?
59:39 He's a ball striker.
59:41 He's accurate.
59:42 Yeah.
59:42 Nathan Kimsey, that's a Patrick's pick.
59:44 Yeah.
59:45 I think he's in that 40 range.
59:47 All right, yeah.
59:48 I like it.
59:49 What what's with the hate?
59:50 I I I don't know, maybe it's cuz I brought up the penguin.

1:00:01 Uh this one I don't know that we'll ever be able to replicate
1:00:04 the number of picks and number of wild picks in the show.
1:00:07 If Jason Sobel is wearing that outfit that we
1:00:09 saw with him uh and Sia from over the weekend,
1:00:12 you didn't see it, go look at Sia's uh feed on X.
1:00:15 Uh picture of Sobel in his Derby outfit.
1:00:17 Absolutely fantastic.
1:00:18 Sobel, if you hit two of those in the round robin,
1:00:20 I would hope that you would dress in your Derby
1:00:22 outfit in honor of the Preakness uh next week.
