0:32 Today we're talking all about being creative.

0:36 If you are a creative person,

0:38 you enjoy things like art or making things and you have lots of ideas.

0:44 So, let's get started!

0:46 Are you a creative person?

0:49 Well, we have quite a creative job, don't we?

0:53 We are always coming up with ideas for new series.

0:58 Editing videos is quite a creative thing.

1:02 I think I'm creative.

1:03 What about you?

1:04 Yeah, I think especially when you talk about what we do for work.

1:10 We invent new ideas and write scripts, and that is quite inventive.

1:16 But what about outside of work?

1:18 That's what I was going to say.

1:20 Yes.

1:20 Outside of work, I don't have any hobbies that are creative,

1:25 but when I was at school,

1:27 I used to do photography as a class, and that was quite creative.

1:31 You have to have a good eye when you...

1:35 when you do photography.

1:37 But nowadays I don't do much, actually.

1:40 Sometimes I like colouring in with those colouring books.

1:45 I enjoy that, but I also think you're not really creating much.

1:50 You're just choosing the colours.

1:52 Yeah, you almost need to draw the picture and then colour it in yourself.

1:56 Yeah, maybe I'll do that.

1:57 Maybe I'll try that.

1:58 What about you?

1:59 Outside of work?

2:01 I think I was probably more creative when I was younger.

2:06 Although, one of my friends at the moment is pregnant,

2:10 so I have been making a blanket for her baby.

2:15 It's a patchwork quilt, so that means there's different squares of fabric,

2:20 and I've been cutting them out and sewing them together with my sewing machine.

2:25 Wow.

2:26 What...

2:26 what colours are in your patchwork quilt?

2:28 Well, they're...

2:29 they're kind of blues and whites and orange-y,

2:34 because she doesn't know if it's going to be a boy or a girl.

2:38 And they're all a little bit patterned, so, yeah.

2:43 So, I've been making that so recently, I have been creative.

2:47 Nice!

2:48 And, Beth, are there any creative things, hobbies, you'd like to try?

2:52 Actually, I know someone who does ceramics,

2:56 so they make pots and mugs and plates and he does classes.

3:04 So, I'd quite like to take up ceramics

3:07 or something like that, just to give it a try.

3:11 That's a really good idea, because then you can have new things to have

3:14 in your kitchen– things that you can actually use.

3:17 Exactly.

3:18 Yeah.

3:18 And again, it's something I did as a child for fun,

3:22 but I wouldn't really think about doing it now.

3:25 But if I, like, took it up as a hobby, then it's something creative to do, yeah.

3:30 Nice to do with your hands.

3:32 What about you?

3:34 I don't have any ideas at the moment, but I would like to spend my free time

3:39 doing something creative because I think it's quite therapeutic.

3:44 It's a good way to take your mind off the stresses of life.

3:50 So, yeah, no ideas yet.

4:05 starting with 'creative',

4:06 which describes someone who likes art or has lots of ideas.

4:11 We also had 'sewing',

4:12 which is when you make things from material like clothes or blankets.

4:18 We also had 'ceramics', which is also called 'pottery',

4:21 which is when you make things like bowls

4:24 and plates out of a material called clay.

4:26 And if you 'take up' a hobby, you start doing it for the first time.
