Daisy Kelliher On Firing Mike: "I Felt Backed Into A Corner" | BDDU After Show (S4 E14) Pt 1 | Bravo
Bravo
0:00 Maybe it's a little bit manipulative on my part.
0:02 Give them a cuddle and they'll join part of my army.
0:05 Coming up on the Below Deck Down Under after show.
0:08 I need you to leave the boat today.
0:10 I'm sending you home.
0:11 Yeah, I lost all sense of passion.
0:13 You know what?
0:14 Let's take a moment of silence.
0:15 He was an agent of chaos.
0:17 Yeah.
0:17 Apparently that whenever you go into the room
0:19 that you're like bitching about me and stuff.
0:23 What?
0:24 That just made it really easy for me to change the cabins around.
0:29 the cheesecake.
0:30 Boy, she took the cabin.
0:31 It was like, come on, girl.
0:33 They're all over each other.
0:34 That is [music] weird.
0:35 Their arms in places I don't understand.
0:38 I've got nothing else to do.
0:40 So, yeah.
0:40 This would not be Jewel's first disloyal moment.
0:43 The Below Deck Down Under after show starts right now.
0:47 Let's pretend dinner is at like 8:00 p.m.
0:49 Ben comes to me at like 10:00 to 8:00
0:52 asking for Tabasco sauce for the shrimp dinner being late.
0:58 And I go to help because that's my job.
1:00 I was okay with that.
1:02 Just placing the shrimp around the martini glass.
1:05 How many on each?
1:07 Four.
1:07 Please.
1:08 She's struggling to attach the shrimp cuz it's like it is an awkward angle.
1:12 I'm standing right here.
1:13 The shrimp is here.
1:14 I'm like, okay, let me just attach it here.
1:17 It was such a quick moment and it was kind of one of those things where like,
1:20 did that just happen?
1:22 Okay.
1:23 Thank you.
1:24 Thank you.
1:26 Okay.
1:27 Yep.
1:28 We're good.
1:30 She is out here acting like she got stoned with shrimp.
1:32 Like I was throwing the shrimp at her.
1:34 I tackled her to the ground.
1:35 I was just shoving shrimp in her face.
1:37 It's the galley.
1:38 People have taken things out of my hands.
1:40 Captain Jason has taken things out of my hands.
1:41 Ben has taken things out of my hands.
1:43 It It's not that serious.
1:45 You don't care what hands are doing what.
1:47 Right now, I don't.
1:47 I believe that Ellie has pride and I
1:50 believe that she can be slightly territorial as well.
1:53 So, it was a bad concoction.
1:55 I don't think it was about the shrimp.
1:57 It's not.
1:58 It's not about the pasta.
1:59 This is not about the shrimp.
2:02 This is about what the shrimp represents.
2:05 She was mad I took her man, so she took my shrimp.
2:08 She got the guy.
2:09 Like that's the part I'm confused about.
2:11 Like first of all, I'm not even looking at this guy.
2:13 Like I literally I cannot even stand his presence.
2:16 I'm not fighting with you over the guy.
2:18 You got him.
2:21 [laughter]
2:20 So, why are you having all this animosity towards me?
2:23 Like it makes absolutely no freaking sense.
2:25 That's my job to help the chef.
2:27 So, that's what I do.
2:28 my job to help the chef.
2:29 We're all a team.
2:30 We're all there to help.
2:31 Don't grab something out of my hands when we're in the middle of dinner service.
2:34 Daisy.
2:35 I probably represented a figure that she didn't like.
2:38 I was in charge, so maybe I was getting what I deserved.
2:43 What I saw in the galley was Ellie taking
2:47 ownership of her position and I'm sure she was stressed.
2:51 I'm sure she was uh outside her box, you know,
2:54 and then she's obviously we talked about how
2:55 the environment had to change in the galley as well.
2:58 And I just think you can only hold all that in for so long.
3:00 Yeah, for sure.
3:08 I think he applied for Love Island and got
3:09 Below Deck and felt like he took a wrong turn.
3:12 He's like, I asked for Fiji, not the Caribbean and I asked for a villa,
3:15 not a yacht where I'm supposed to work.
3:17 That's true.
3:18 You know what?
3:19 Let's take a moment of silence.
3:20 He was an agent of chaos.
3:22 He also went out with a bang.
3:23 Like, I'm the deck chief.
3:24 I've got the head of department.
3:25 Okay, you're working till 9:00 p.m.
3:27 tonight.
3:29 We'll see about that.
3:31 Excuse me?
3:32 What did you just say to me?
3:34 I said I'm not working till 9:00 p.m.
3:35 tonight.
3:35 Okay, you can get off the boat.
3:37 [music] Get off the boat.
3:38 With this stage of the game,
3:40 I've been confronted by Alesia to sort this problem out.
3:44 I've had Jenna, you know, complain several times to me about Mike.
3:49 Mike was difficult to train.
3:51 By the time we had our confrontation, I felt backed into a corner.
3:55 I don't know what else I could have done.
3:57 He was not listening to me.
3:58 I'd had so many final warnings.
4:01 At the end of the day, she's got experience.
4:02 You know, if she thinks that she can improve her team
4:05 and doesn't want to tolerate that person in her team anymore,
4:09 I'm going to back her up.
4:10 You know, there's no no questions about it.
4:12 Daisy and Jewel have done everything possible to help you flourish here.
4:15 You think this is a bit of a joke.
4:17 I won't tolerate it.
4:19 I need you to leave the boat today.
4:21 I'm sending you home.
4:23 When I left the boat, I had a massive sense of relief.
4:26 And that's when I knew my time was at an end.
4:30 Do I disagree with Daisy's decision?
4:32 Absolutely not.
4:33 She made the right call and I was completely uh accepting of it, you know.
4:37 It made us feel like, you know what?
4:39 Like this deck chief position isn't for you.
4:42 But what it did make us realize is that every time I went on that deck,
4:45 I absolutely loved it.
4:49 when it came on on deck and yeah, I saw that.
4:51 I never had a problem with you on deck as far [clears throat] as work.
4:54 When you were there, when you could be there, though.
4:56 That's Yeah, of course.
4:57 The steward side of things, I just felt I was just very,
5:00 very bored and I lost all sense of passion.
5:03 I lost all sense of wanting to to be in this in this role.
5:07 But if I had have dealt with it better and just spoken to Daisy,
5:11 I think things probably would have been a lot
5:13 different and I probably wouldn't have been sacked.
5:15 I know he will come up with excuses like,
5:17 oh, if I was on deck and I wasn't bored.
5:20 doing his job really well.
5:21 Nothing have changed for me.
5:23 I was I was already ignoring Mike, you know.
5:26 Someone is just missing, absent.
5:28 Okay.
5:29 It was already absent because he wasn't doing much.
5:33 Mikey got too big for his boots and thought
5:35 that he could just do and say anything he wanted.
5:38 So, something needed to be done.
5:40 He wasn't going to change, but like maybe we could have given him
5:43 a bit more like correction before firing him.
5:46 Cuz at least he was reinstating.
5:47 I tried to work me tongue with Daisy a little bit.
5:49 Daisy, seal the deal with a little kiss.
5:51 Nope.
5:53 And I did say I think at one point in, well,
5:55 how else was I going to keep me job?
5:57 But really deep down, I did actually generally like Daisy and all that.
6:01 I did think a lot of her, you know, not just as a in regards to work,
6:05 but in regards to who she is as a person, you know.
6:07 If it weren't on the boat in the work environment,
6:09 I think things probably would have been a bit different.
6:10 Mike.
6:11 I don't have an issue with him.
6:12 What made me really sad, I didn't want to see him go.
6:14 That doesn't make me feel good in any way.
6:17 I wish we could have been able to resolve it.
6:19 I did try all season.
6:21 And as much as I wind you up and as much as I upset him,
6:24 I do respect Jewel as a captain, his knowledge, his experience and as a person
6:29 and what Jewel has came from, you know, he said on his first season as he was
6:33 this character and um it all went pear-shaped and you know,
6:37 to where he's got to today is just something that I'm going to have
6:40 to look at and do as a deckhand and to see what is actually achievable.
6:43 I must say, thank you.
6:45 I appreciate that.
6:45 I must say, no, no, honestly, I I appreciate that.
6:48 Very nice to hear.
6:49 The funny thing about all of this is that even like with Alesia,
6:51 I I I generally liked all of the crew.
6:55 you stand with Mikey?
6:56 Well, Mikey stopped pissing me off.
6:57 So, now now I just love Mikey.
7:00 Sorry, I'm such a Mike team.
7:01 Like I'm on his team like through and through.
7:03 I think he's a funny guy.
7:05 Would you ever date a guy like Mike?
7:09 What?
7:09 Someone like me with Mikey?
7:10 Absolutely not.
7:12 It would end in tears.
7:14 I think he's a great friend to have,
7:16 but like I don't find him sexually attractive at all,
7:19 but I probably would give it a go just for a little just for the banter.
7:21 He's probably quite good in bed, too.
7:23 Like I've seen his willy on OnlyFans.
7:25 So, like at least he's packing.
7:34 Do you feel betrayed by Jewel for leaving your cabin with your bro quarters?
7:37 The thing that pissed me off the most was Jewel selected our cabin right next
7:41 to the crew's quarters and right above the stabilizers
7:44 and it was really noisy and I couldn't sleep.
7:47 And then suddenly he went to the Ritz-Carlton down the corridor.
7:50 I need to start thinking about cabins because it's definitely a female.
7:54 She commented.
7:55 shake Daisy.
7:57 Well, you joke, boss.
8:00 Logistically, I needed something that worked
8:03 and spitefully don't create problems in my department.
8:07 Apparently that whenever you go into the room
8:09 that you're like bitching about me and stuff.
8:12 What?
8:13 That just made it really easy for me to change the cabins around.
8:18 the cheesecake.
8:19 She took Boy, she took the cabin.
8:21 It was like, come on, girl.
8:22 I don't actually think Daisy realized what she was doing with you and Ben.
8:26 Is the guy that's coming No, I'm moving in with Ben.
8:30 What?
8:31 Did you ask her why?
8:33 She didn't see the problem.
8:34 She was like she thought she created a solution,
8:37 but she never thought of Ben and Eddie and how that could I was so naive.
8:42 I never still thought that the whole Ben Jenna thing was a thing.
8:46 And so, obviously I didn't read into that thinking moving into the room.
8:49 I remember you telling me that you you
8:50 actually hadn't uh thought of that until after.
8:54 Yeah, like I didn't think of the Eddie and the Ben thing.
8:57 Guess what I just did.
8:59 They're adults, you know, like that's something that, you know,
9:01 they should be able to get over.
9:03 Originally, the girls were not going to move.
9:05 I was going to put the three boys into the cabin and I went to Ben and I said,
9:10 the three of you are going to share a cabin.
9:12 And he said, I am not sharing a cabin with two other boys.
9:15 My roommate got replaced as a smelly guy to another smelly guy.
9:21 I was in piggy heaven.
9:22 Male roommates, it's not preferable.
9:24 I would actually rather much rather have my own space.
9:27 Jewel, I was more familiar with, so it was nicer
9:31 living with someone that I knew a little bit more.
9:33 He's like staying at your house.
9:35 Like when he was in town.
9:36 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
9:36 I had to hide my towel.
9:38 Because he would just if it was there and it was dry, he'd use it.
9:41 You know what I mean?
9:42 He would put my shoes on and walk out with my shoes.
9:44 [laughter] Like I just Yeah,
9:46 so moving [clears throat] into to the room with Daisy,
9:48 everything was like pristine and clean and I love Ben,
9:51 but he kept me up all night.
9:54 We had a lot of pillow chat.
9:55 Rooming with Jewel.
9:57 He'll get up and you're like look around
9:59 and you know and then he'll go back down.
10:00 He'll get up and then he'll pour himself a glass
10:02 of brandy or rum and then he'll go back down.
10:05 And then if he catches one person within that time, which is usually me.
10:10 If I'm in bed, I'll pretend to sleep even if he like wakes up, no, I'm out.
10:14 Sorry, mate.
10:15 I'm not I'm not I'm not dealing with this, you know?
10:17 So, going to a room where I could just,
10:20 you know, switch off the lights and sleep it was fantastic.
10:23 This was the the right way forward,
10:26 but it was either going to be the three boys sharing each
10:28 with each other or it was going to be the way it was.
10:32 That was it.
10:32 That was the only two options we had.
