2:34 he has not stopped trying to bankrupt my family.

2:44 Uh we were laughing at the fact that he's just

2:45 kind of allowed to pretend to be this normal public figure,

2:48 but he's low-key a deranged stalker.

3:10 Like they were monitoring my likes back when you could see likes on X.

3:15 I I was facing serious lawsuits over, "You liked this tweet,

3:20 and it was a bit disparaging to us." Stalker.

3:24 Just just full-blown stalker vibes.

3:26 It all made sense, though.

3:28 It all made sense when phone calls started coming

3:31 in, emails started coming in regarding The Daily Wire layoffs,

3:35 which began, I am told, on Thursday, actually continued through Friday.

3:39 There's some indication they may actually be continuing through today.

3:41 And it was an absolute bloodbath.

3:43 Do not allow allow them to spin it.

3:45 Okay?

3:45 I'm talking entire departments, big people at the firm,

3:48 lawyers at the firm, uh the chief operating officer,

3:52 the executive vice president, virtually the entire marketing department,

3:56 the production team has now been reduced to a mere skeleton crew.

4:00 No one was safe.

4:01 Not even Ben's team was safe, Mark safe from it.

4:05 Even a director on his team was fired.

4:07 It was brutal.

4:08 I have counted approximately 54 people who lost their jobs from top to bottom.

4:13 And that's just in this wave,

4:15 cuz this has been going on, as we all know, for a while.

4:17 The writing has been on the wall for a while.

4:20 It has been very strange, the worst-kept secret in media,

4:24 um as they keep writing,

4:25 having people publish these articles that just defy reality.

4:30 We we were having private conversations like,

4:33 "How long can they keep up this charade?

4:36 And keep pretending that this is not

4:38 happening when everyone can see the numbers.

4:41 We can see how the public is responding." Uh it's very

4:45 it's it's very strange to just sort of live in a delusion.

4:49 Uh we knew that they had brought

4:50 in private equity uh sometime ago, last 2 years.

4:54 I used to work in private equity in these particular types of situations,

4:58 so I knew uh what the implications were of bringing in private equity.

5:03 It's especially if it's a distressed debt situation, the usual term,

5:08 as it was at the company that I worked at many moons ago, was 2 years.

5:11 They'll they'll inject cash into your company,

5:13 they'll float you for about 2 years as you attempt to turn things around.

5:17 You fire some people, you restructure a little bit,

5:20 but you're kind of walking the plank, right?

5:22 Maybe you fix it, but if you don't,

5:24 they're going to they're going to sell that company,

5:26 and they're going to own a huge chunk of that company that they sell.

5:28 Now, I can't assert that that is definitively

5:31 what the deal terms were for The Daily Wire,

5:34 but I can say that we're just about now over 2 years,

5:38 um just over 2 years removed from my firing,

5:41 and The Daily Wire has obviously not turned the company around.

5:45 In fact, I would say they've just kind of cranked up the crazy,

5:49 almost like they were trying to catalyze their own demise.

5:52 And so yes, it was announced on Friday that the mass layoffs took place,

5:56 um for which they offered this excuse to Breitbart Media.

6:00 I think Breitbart Media was among the first to report the story.

6:04 It reads, quote, "Today,

6:05 The Daily Wire made a difficult decision to restructure the organization,

6:09 which included layoffs to a number of teams.

6:12 We are deeply grateful to those impacted.

6:14 Their contributions were instrumental in building

6:16 The Daily Wire into what it is today.

6:19 The cuts were largely concentrated at our Nashville production

6:22 office as the company has invested in new formats,

6:25 locations, and production models.

6:27 Our footprint there has evolved.

6:30 Over the last year, we have added production staff in DC,

6:33 the Northeast, and Florida.

6:34 This step allows us to focus our resources on ambitious slate

6:38 of new entertainment projects that are set to release this year.

6:41 Additionally, we will continue to invest

6:42 our editorial team in investigative journalism,

6:45 where we have already added numerous new reporters across

6:47 the country and established a DC bureau with a seat

6:50 in the White House briefing room." That's a lot

6:52 of words um to really say nothing, okay?

6:57 It's it's not good what's happening there.

6:59 Everyone feels it.

7:00 They uh people that are left certainly feel it, okay?

7:03 Uh first they shuttered Ben Key Kids,

7:05 which was obviously massive layoffs that were done.

7:09 Then they quietly got rid of their sports department.

7:11 That was the Cranium Company show that they were running.

7:14 Now they're firing over 50 people in a span of 24 hours,

7:19 and they're claiming it's just restructuring.

7:21 Um people in DC also got fired,

7:23 so it's not because they're suddenly pivoting and building in DC.

7:28 So, as they attempt to spin this into something else,

7:31 the broader question is, what actually happened to the company?

7:35 How could it happen so quickly, more importantly?

7:38 Because make no mistake, this is like the equivalent of Enron.

7:42 Right?

7:43 It's a virtual overnight collapse.

7:45 In 2023, they were arguably one of the most promising companies,

7:51 conservative media companies, certainly in the game.

7:52 They were at the top of the top of their game.

7:54 Everyone was clamoring to work with them, to do projects with them.

7:58 And now we fast forward to 2026, and generally speaking,

8:02 again, I'm speaking generally, everyone hates The Daily Wire.

8:06 We just hate The Daily Wire.

8:08 How is that possible?

8:09 Well, there are multiple assessments that are floating around right now.

8:12 Of course, many people directly associated

8:17 their demise with the never-ceasing war against me,

8:23 uh which began with my unnecessarily glorious public firing,

8:30 supplemented by a a staggering claim that Christ is king is anti-Semitic.

8:35 People were going, "They That's me." God will not be mocked.

8:39 It's a strong start to say Christ is king is problematic,

8:43 and we've got the money to make that fetch, Gretchen.

8:46 Um so yeah, that's the chatter.

8:48 Is it does does did it have to do with me?

8:52 Candace Owens cooked you, Ben.

8:54 She made you look like both the little that you are.

8:56 She straight-up publicly humiliated you, and you allowed her to let you

9:08 you know, Candace Owens was successful in leaving The Daily Wire,

9:19 And this only happened her success only happened after The Daily Wire.

9:24 She's probably feeling really good right now.

9:25 I'm going to be honest.

9:26 If I was Candace Owens, I'd be feeling pretty damn good right now.

9:35 She's like Django killing everybody in the big house and then blowing it up.

9:43 She was one of their probably one of the top shows.

9:47 And then she just exploded the whole house on her way out.

9:54 I'm going to glaze Candace Owens a little bit.

9:56 I don't agree with everything that she's up to, but you know,

10:00 if she brings down the Daily Wire, then she's a patriot.

10:05 So, people are crediting me, but do I actually deserve that credit?

10:09 Have I been focusing my attention on the Daily Wire throughout this show?

10:12 Well, taking a look at a a more,

10:14 I guess you could say, the business side of affairs.

10:17 This account, this user, Akash Gupta, uh wrote this on X,

10:21 and I thought it was worth reading.

10:22 He wrote, "The Daily Wire is the case

10:24 study of why personality-driven media companies cannot compound.

10:28 A peak in late 2023, Shapiro's YouTube alone pulled 170 million monthly views.

10:34 Daily Wire Plus subscriptions,

10:36 a Nashville studio operation, Bentkey Kids streaming,

10:38 and e-commerce arm with razors and chocolates and cigars,

10:41 the company was running a billion-dollar conservative Disney bet.

10:45 And they made the studio bet bigger.

10:46 Pendragon cycle, an Arthurian fantasy series

10:49 of the kind that has bankrupted larger production houses.

10:52 Uh Bentkey trying to compete with Disney for kids' attention,

10:55 Daily Wire Plus chasing Netflix, running a newsroom, a film studio,

10:58 a children's streaming platform, and a private label consumer goods business

11:02 simultaneously requires either limitless capital or extraordinary discipline.

11:07 Some of it worked.

11:08 Matt Walsh's Am I Racist?

11:09 was a top-grossing documentary of 2024, but most of it didn't.

11:13 In March of 2024, they parted ways with Candace Owens.

11:15 She walked into the open market and built a show that competes with theirs.

11:19 Today, she has 5.5 million YouTube subscribers and added

11:22 10.9 million followers across platforms since January of 2025,

11:27 generating roughly 805 million views in that window.

11:30 Daily Wire converted its biggest distribution asset into its largest competitor.

11:35 Early 2025, co-founder Jeremy Boring stepped down as co-CEO and launched

11:39 a solo podcast outside of the company that he co-founded.

11:42 Bentkey was shuttered the same year, entire team cut.

11:45 Then the audience math hit Shapiro himself,

11:47 170 million monthly YouTube views in late

11:50 2023 to roughly 22 million in early 2026.

11:56 An 85% collapse in 18 months.

11:59 Another 60,000 subscribers gone in the last 90 days alone.

12:03 Layoff Hedge.com estimates cumulative workforce reduction

12:06 above 60% over the past year.

12:10 Tucker Carlson left Fox in 2023.

12:12 He kept his audience.

12:13 He runs his shop with a fraction of the headcount.

12:15 Megyn Kelly's network drew 138 million YouTube views in February alone.

12:20 The personalities figured out that they don't need the platform.

12:23 The platform discovered the opposite.

12:25 Daily Wire built a billion-dollar valuation on names that can walk,

12:28 take their audience with them,

12:29 and run a competing show from a laptop the next morning.

12:32 170 million views down to 22 million,

12:35 the company kept the overhead, but the audience left with the people.

12:39 I thought that was very uh a very fair assessment,

12:42 and uh looking at you know, the commentary uh regarding me,

12:47 plus reading his business look at it,

12:49 I actually think it's a combination of both of those assessments, right?

12:54 Because what Akash is missing, he brings up Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly.

12:57 Yes, they are indeed uh more successful than

13:00 they were when they were on cable news.

13:02 Uh they are successful in their own right,

13:04 but their exits did not destroy Fox News.

13:09 That's crucial.

13:10 Their exits, despite the fact that they are doing better,

13:12 did not destroy Fox News.

13:13 This means that Daily Wire is unique.

13:17 They are unique.

13:17 They are set apart from those examples.

13:19 I left PragerU.

13:21 I left Turning Point USA.

13:22 Neither one of those companies were destroyed by my exit.

13:26 In fact, we were all friends when I left.

13:28 I went on to work with Turning Point all the way through until this year,

13:31 actually, uh contractually.

13:34 And uh same with PragerU.

13:35 We we would still do things together.

13:37 I was still close with Marissa, very close with Marissa.

13:39 So, what makes those companies What What

13:43 is it that makes those companies different, right?

13:45 I think what makes them different is

13:46 that they didn't stalk their departed talent.

13:49 They just let them go, and they never mentioned them again, right?

13:53 Tucker Carlson did not then face 2 years

13:55 of arbitration and fights and gag orders with Fox News,

13:58 being chased for every penny.

14:00 They didn't try to stop his next move.

14:04 Uh they weren't navigating and having hit pieces written about them.

14:06 They truly wanted to just turn the page.

14:09 Meaning, they're a real business.

14:11 They are a real business.

14:12 They want to keep it corporate.

14:28 deranged decisions that the company made just over the last few months,

14:34 They brought back my social channels to mock me.

14:40 I I This is unbeli- It's It's beyond psychopathic to do something like this.

14:44 2 years after you fire someone, uh they also attempted, in case you forgot,

14:49 they attempted to create an entire show dedicated to making fun of this show.

14:58 In the No No, where you had that girl that was like standing on the couch,

15:02 like a Nickelodeon girl,

15:03 like making fun of me, and it was weird, and it was cringe,

15:06 and also beyond the realm of being stalked by a former employer.

15:13 You don't keep someone's socials and go, "Haha, I own your name and likeness,

15:17 and I can do this." You have to pause and really consider how unusual that was.

15:25 from the end of their last legal action against me, too.

15:28 So, that There's never been a stop in my life of the Daily Wire chasing me.

15:32 If this was an ex-boyfriend,

15:33 everyone would say that I was in need of a restraining order.

15:42 It was disparaging.

15:44 So, you cannot discount the fact that Ben Shapiro, who is considered,

15:49 and this is sad for the other people on the platform,

15:52 he is considered the face of the company.

15:55 And he developed tunnel vision.

15:56 He bet the company on destroying me.

15:59 I didn't want to fight with them.

21:10 That is what the public cannot bear about The Daily Wire.

21:15 that that Ben's attacks against me would now be all done.

21:19 But on his Friday show, when most were expecting him to deliver

21:22 maybe an impassioned an impassioned message,

21:26 um one laced with humility regarding the layoffs,

21:29 perhaps thanking the many people who moved their entire families in Asheville

21:34 to support his company and now find themselves without a job,

21:37 you think like that oh I mean hey I

21:38 wanted to let you guys know this personally from me,

21:41 like this is what's going on.

21:42 We thank people so much.

21:43 No, of course he does not have the courage to do that.

21:47 Calls Megan Kelly a coward.

21:49 But what did Megan what did what did Ben do instead of addressing his employees?

23:20 It says, "List of companies that sponsor Candace Owens' podcast.

23:24 Do all these companies condone the behavior

23:26 of Candace berating and demonizing a widow, Erica Kirk?

23:29 If you haven't already,

23:30 I suggest boycotting these companies until they withdraw their sponsorships.

23:35 to withdraw their sponsorships of Candace Owens' podcast.

23:37 I don't believe her views align with their company values.
