Breaking Down Charles Davis’ Mock Draft 3.0
NFL Fantasy Football
0:10 Hey everybody, it's Tuesday, March 31st, 2026.
0:14 Welcome to the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast
0:16 where we are thinking about the future.
0:17 It's being your man MG Marcus Grant joined by Michael F.
0:20 Florio and Laquan Jones.
0:21 Uh happy end of It's wild.
0:23 It is the end of March, guys.
0:24 Like this is kind of come quick, you know?
0:28 We for real.
0:30 three weeks or so away from the draft, baseball's underway, final four is set.
0:35 Like, yeah, we blinked and it was like
0:37 the Super Bowl and everything just blew by.
0:39 Just blew by.
0:41 Uh so much going on in sports right now.
0:43 Obviously, we're talking a lot of football.
0:44 We're still talking draft related things uh today,
0:48 but it's you mentioned the Final Four and baseball because, you know,
0:52 I only have so much bandwidth to devote to like watching
0:55 sports and so college basketball has kind of fallen off my radar.
0:58 for the first weekend of the tournament, I was like, I'm locked in.
1:01 Like, yeah, I don't really know these teams,
1:02 but I just love the spectacle of it and I'm locked in.
1:05 It was great.
1:06 And then then baseball started and I
1:08 literally forgot that the Sweet 16 was happening.
1:12 Same.
1:12 I watched St.
1:13 John's and that was it.
1:14 Um, I baseball I look I know sports don't care.
1:19 We're we're talking about a we work
1:21 for a league that uh has taken over all holidays,
1:27 everything.
1:26 But I do miss when like the sports calendar made sense, right?
1:30 Like baseball waited until after March Madness to start
1:33 and like it just felt right, you know?
1:38 Yeah.
1:38 Leagues used to be polite about stuff.
1:40 Now everybody's trying to grind their feet on everybody
1:42 else's couch and it's just uh you know it
1:47 I gotta say as the soccer fan here, as the wrestling fan here,
1:50 I feel like there's something on every single day.
1:52 Like obviously Monday night on Yeah, exactly.
1:56 So like I'm trying to cram all this stuff in.
1:58 I was able to catch the Yukon and Duke game which was actually,
2:01 you know, amazing to see the last shot and create that that was just like
2:06 okay, I might be locked into college basketball.
2:09 I don't know.
2:09 I don't know.
2:10 We're We're still trying to figure out what what else I can cram up here.
2:13 Yeah, that was wild.
2:14 I was actually out to dinner with some friends and the whole restaurant went
2:17 berserk when uh when they hit that shot when Yukon hit the shot there.
2:22 I won't lie, I I the Knicks were playing the Thunder.
2:24 I had no idea that happened until like halftime
2:26 of the Knicks game and then I was like,
2:28 "Oh my god." But like, yeah, I have absolutely no The Mets and the Knicks
2:32 right now are on the Mets are daily.
2:34 The Knicks are semi- daily.
2:36 like it it's there's only so much like LQ said that you could fit up there.
2:40 Only so much time I have because I would still
2:42 at the end of the day like to have a family.
2:43 So, uh you know I got to pick and choose what I what I watch.
2:46 Um what of course we will all be watching
2:49 is the NFL draft coming up in several weeks.
2:52 Uh we will we are watching have been watching some of the prospects.
2:56 There you go.
2:57 Florida's got his notepad there.
2:59 I got his notepad.
3:01 I I can hold up a notepad.
3:02 There's no notes on it, but I can just throw it in here if you want to.
3:05 You know,
3:06 the two names you saw, the two names you saw were Jordan Tyson and Denzo Bos.
3:11 Uh, sure.
3:12 Um, but we talked about kind of our wish list
3:15 of places we'd like to see some of these guys go.
3:18 Figured we should talk about where some of the draft experts have
3:22 these guys mocked to and whether or not we like the fit,
3:25 what it could mean, so on and so forth.
3:27 So, Charles Davis just put out his mockdraft 3.0, the first round.
3:32 There are eight names of offensive skill position players on it.
3:35 So, it's worth sort of just kicking it around, taking what Charles thinks,
3:38 seeing how we like the fits or don't like the fits for those respective guys.
3:42 But first, a little bit of news to get into.
3:46 And I'm going to ask you this one, Laquan, for for two reasons.
3:50 Uh, well, first the headline.
3:51 Niners GM John Lynch says he's hopeful George KD can return for week one.
3:55 Well, I'm asking you this one because I know
3:57 it annoys you to have to talk about the 49ers.
3:59 Why are we kicking off the show with whiners, bro?
4:02 What are we doing?
4:03 Because also, you are the tight end whisperer on this show.
4:05 Like, that is that is your deal.
4:08 So, I'm asking you with George KD coming off
4:11 an Achilles injury that he suffered late in the season,
4:15 if it is true that they that he can come back for week one,
4:19 are you willing to take the risk of drafting him as a top five tight end?
4:23 Because presumably when you look at the all of the tight ends out there,
4:27 George KD's still probably going to be drafted as a top five tight end.
4:30 Are you willing to take that risk?
4:32 That would be a mistake.
4:33 I think you draft later Jake Tongis, the backup tight end.
4:38 And I think that if George KD's ready for week one,
4:41 maybe he'll be out there on the field,
4:43 but we've seen him come back from injury before
4:45 and make more of an impact in the run game.
4:47 And we know that Christian McAffrey, they're trying to whisper that.
4:50 They're trying to break down his load as the season goes on.
4:53 But at the end of the day,
4:54 George KD is one of the best blocking tight ends out there,
4:57 also a route runner as well.
4:58 But I don't know if I'm going to be drafting him as a top five
5:02 tight end because there's other pieces out
5:04 there that are going outside that top five.
5:06 A Ronda Gas and Sam Laora, which I want to whisper,
5:09 I don't want to be too loud because man,
5:12 that ADP is looking juicy right now in baseball.
5:15 But I'm just looking at other tight
5:16 ends that are healthy that have better opportunities.
5:20 And I honestly think like George KD going off the board as a top five,
5:24 that's a huge mistake that you're probably going to have
5:26 to have his handcuff Jake ready to go later in drafts.
5:29 I don't love the idea of drafting a tight end handcuff.
5:33 Like that feels like just nasty.
5:35 That feels like burning a roster spot.
5:37 Don't love that idea.
5:39 I I mean, Flor, we talked about Achilles in terms of running backs,
5:44 in terms of quarterbacks.
5:46 It just hampers your mobility.
5:48 That's really what it does.
5:50 I'm kind of with Laquan.
5:51 Like, I'm scared to touch George KD at where he's probably going to go.
5:55 Just cuz it only takes one or two people to pull him up in ADP.
6:00 I just don't love the idea of taking
6:02 him right after Achilles surgery knowing that he
6:06 might not be the same level of route
6:08 runner right away that we've seen in his career.
6:11 Yeah, I top five is crazy to me.
6:13 I don't think I I would even take him top 10.
6:15 Like I I want no part of this because he's going not only Yes.
6:22 Is it Achilles?
6:23 I think I think we're putting the cart before the horse when we're
6:27 saying stuff like it's it's much more successful surgery than it used to be.
6:31 It's easier to come back than it used to be.
6:34 Is it?
6:34 I know it's maybe not the kiss of death that it was f like 10 years ago,
6:39 but there's still very few uh tre like success stories.
6:44 I know Kevin Durant is one like Jason Tatum is back now in the NBA,
6:47 but he hasn't looked himself.
6:49 Um, and the thing is, KD is going to be 33 years old this year,
6:55 so it's not like he's a spring chicken.
6:57 He has a lot of wear and tear and injury concern already on his tires.
7:03 But also, like he got hurt later in the season,
7:06 so it I think week one feels like a huge question mark for him.
7:11 And I wouldn't be surprised if he's on the pup list.
7:14 I I just to me I I'd rather take a shot on the younger tight ends.
7:18 I'd rather wait.
7:19 Like I I'm just not going to and I'm totally like we talk about the L's list.
7:23 I am totally fine having no George KD this season.
7:28 I'm I'm kind of trending that direction.
7:31 George KD back in week one at this moment feels
7:34 a lot like Brandon Aayuko be ready in week six.
7:38 It feels he's running he's running drills on the sideline.
7:42 It just feels a lot like hey man Brandu week six like mark it down.
7:48 That's That's kind of how it feels.
7:50 He tore his Achilles in January.
7:52 I had to double check this.
7:54 Janu like mid January.
7:56 Like we're two months removed from him tearing it.
7:59 That means at the start of the season he is
8:02 going to be eight months removed from a torn Achilles.
8:06 Yeah.
8:06 Okay.
8:06 I want absolutely no part of that.
8:08 That that feels really really optimistic right now.
8:11 So I probably The other part of this is you mentioned Sam Leaporta.
8:15 If you want to get a good ADP on him, now is the time to do it.
8:19 Because what's going to happen is we're going to wake up one day in late
8:24 May and suddenly a whole bunch of people are going to realize, "Hey man,
8:27 Sam Leaport's ADP is ridiculously low and then
8:30 he's going to be the main character
8:31 for two or three days and then that's going to be it." Like the discount.
8:35 I just tweeted yesterday.
8:36 I was like, "Fantasy streets, please do not be too loud about Sam Leorter."
8:41 Being loud about Sam Leorter.
8:42 But no, I'm saying it now.
8:44 Let's not do it.
8:45 Let's not do it.
8:46 Let's not do it.
8:47 I would I'm looking at underdog ADP right now, right?
8:50 McBride, Bowers feel like a lock then.
8:53 I mean, they are a lock.
8:54 It's the top two.
8:55 Then you got Lovelin and Warren who I do
8:57 think are going to consistently go three and four.
9:00 I I'm pushing Sam Leaport up to five at that like that's that's respectable.
9:05 I would do it.
9:06 I think that's a good ranking.
9:08 But Laquan, you saying, "Hey everybody, don't be loud about Sam."
9:13 Look, this is for people who listen to me
9:15 and win championships when I talk about the tight end.
9:18 That's all I'm just saying.
9:19 That is on par with putting a cookie on a table and telling your kid,
9:23 "Don't touch the cookie.
9:26 That cookie is gone.
9:28 That cookie is gone."
9:31 The moment you turn your back, there's just going to be crumbs left there.
9:34 Like, what are you doing, man?
9:38 Mason will leave half to cookie.
9:41 That's That's the type of kid he is.
9:42 He'll leave half to cookie.
9:46 So then his ADP only goes about halfway to where it's going to be.
9:49 Great.
9:50 There you go.
9:50 It won't go too high.
9:52 It'll go from like 10 to seven or something.
9:55 Awesome.
9:56 Um Patrick Mahomes has posted video of himself throwing 3 months after surgery.
10:02 I will say that because I am not on X as much.
10:06 I I didn't see it.
10:08 I don't know.
10:10 You guys can tell me.
10:11 Were the fantasy streets going nuts?
10:12 Were there a bunch of people like with like eye big googly eye emojis?
10:17 Were there arrows pointing up?
10:19 Did all that happen with with Mahomes in this video?
10:22 I've avoided it.
10:24 Oh, that's good.
10:25 Slightly.
10:26 It's it it The thing is is because we've Well, me personally,
10:30 I have taken L's on the freak athlete tier
10:33 and his money is different in terms of recovery.
10:36 This is cool to see,
10:37 but this does not move the needle for me whatsoever in fantasy.
10:40 Like, I still have guys like Dak Prescott,
10:43 Bo Knicks that I would rather take off the board before a Patrick Mahomes.
10:47 And I know this has been a pod that we've
10:49 said we can never bet against Mahomes, but come on, man.
10:53 Like, I need to see more.
10:55 Like, I need to see later in June him being in actual,
10:59 you know, practice ready game speed to be out there saying like,
11:03 "Yeah, Patrick Mahomes is back." Is your concern
11:06 the injury or is it the supporting cast?
11:09 It's the injury.
11:09 It it cuz like I think when we talk
11:11 about the Mahomes magic that involves him moving out
11:14 of the pocket that involves him being able to be
11:17 the Mahomes to extend the plays and to be,
11:19 you know, mobile as much as we've seen him last year.
11:22 This does not move the needle for me whatsoever.
11:25 So then Florio, is he a top eight, top 10 quarterback for you this year?
11:30 Doing my best Leonardo DiCaprio impression?
11:33 Absolutely not.
11:34 And uh and I was the guy last year
11:37 on this pod like pounding the table for Patrick Mahomes.
11:40 But what makes Momes special or or at least
11:46 helps elevate him as of late is his legs.
11:49 Like last season he ran for a careerhigh in rushing yards and touchdowns.
11:54 He was the leading rusher for a good chunk of the season.
11:57 Yeah.
11:57 Like and like it was like weekly until like week like eight.
12:01 He was like, "Oh, yeah.
12:01 He's led them in like six of their eight games or something like that." Like,
12:05 but then you look at the passing numbers.
12:07 He hasn't thrown for 4,000 yards since 2022.
12:11 He hasn't thrown uh 30 touchdown passes in a season since 2022.
12:17 Like, I know you could point to Eric Benemy
12:21 being back and maybe that gets the explosives going again.
12:24 There is still a lot to be desired with this supporting cast here.
12:28 Um, and on top of that, like maybe they add a wide receiver in in the draft,
12:34 but I think having Kenneth Walker is going to mean they
12:36 can run the ball more than they have in the past.
12:38 I think Mahomes isn't go like Laquan was saying,
12:41 I don't expect him to run at all.
12:43 I I've been pretty vocal that I expect him out there to start the year,
12:46 but I think the Chiefs are going
12:48 the Chiefs don't care about the regular season, right?
12:50 They just care about getting into the playoffs.
12:52 So, I think they are going
12:54 I agree.
12:55 I think the Chiefs need to start worrying about getting into the playoffs.
13:00 That division is starting to get better, man.
13:03 Like the Denver and the Chargers.
13:05 My god.
13:06 No, it is.
13:07 Still going in my opinion to operate as if the all they care
13:12 about is keeping Mahomes healthy to get to the end of the season,
13:15 which means in my head they're going to tell him to actively stop running.
13:20 Like if you feel pressure, do a paint manning.
13:22 If you feel pressure, drop to the floor.
13:23 like we don't need you taking another hit.
13:25 And because of that, I I think Mahomes is
13:28 going to be a lot more floor than ceiling.
13:31 Do you think that's why they made the Justin Fields move?
13:34 Like do you think at some point we'll
13:35 see Justin Fields hit the field starting a game?
13:38 Like I don't think starting if Mahomes is healthy, but
13:42 not on purpose.
13:44 I I would not rule out packages for him though.
13:47 Like short like bringing him in on third and short, stuff like that.
13:51 Like and that's going to hurt Mahomes.
13:53 Yeah, I can definitely see the the the package deal for for Justin Fields.
13:59 But if if Justin Fields is starting a game for the Chiefs,
14:01 that's cuz Mahomes is just incap physically incapable of of starting a game.
14:06 I think that's the only way that happens.
14:08 I'm rooting for Fields though.
14:12 I do man forever and ever.
14:14 Running back news.
14:15 Naji Harris had a free agent visit with the Seattle Seahawks.
14:19 Also expected to visit the Raiders next.
14:21 I mean, look, Naji Harris going to the Raiders,
14:24 he's he's stuck behind Ashton Genty.
14:27 That's a non-starter there.
14:28 But with an opening in Seattle, guys,
14:33 I mean, Laquan is could he be viable there?
14:36 You know, they the Seahawks pretty much basically
14:38 said that we're fine moving on from Kenneth Walker.
14:41 We're, you know, we'll find somebody else that's a suitable replacement.
14:44 Is Naji Harris a suitable replacement?
14:49 No.
14:49 coming off an injury and you already know
14:51 in previous pods of us having the years together,
14:54 me calling him as a guy running with over large jeans in my hands,
14:58 it it's not it doesn't it's not exactly, you know,
15:02 the fit that I think will be viable for fantasy or even for the Seahawks.
15:06 Like I honestly much rather if I had
15:09 to on the clock and I needed a Seahawks running back,
15:12 I'll go Emanuel Wilson over a Naji Harris.
15:15 And again, like the little sprinkle that we saw of Naji,
15:18 even though he had the, you know,
15:20 the camp, he was on the sideline with the eye patch looking like,
15:23 you know, a pirate, but at the end of the day,
15:25 he just wasn't productive with his opportunities that we've seen him.
15:29 And I think him splitting with, you know, a possibility with Ashen Denty,
15:34 it will be like kind of the Clint QBak
15:36 offensive where we saw Kenneth Walker and Zack Charbanet split,
15:40 but it'll be more short yardage opportunity for Naji Harris, if anything,
15:44 which wouldn't be fantasy relevant on a week- toeek basis to even draft.
15:49 Hey, Naji Harris, Zack Charbanet
15:51 backfield whenever Charbanet is available again.
15:54 That's gross.
15:55 I I want no part of that like at all.
15:59 He's gonna be I I think Naji if he goes there is
16:02 going to play the Zack Charban role like a short yardage specialist.
16:06 Like I I don't think I mean he was kind of a plotter before he tore his right
16:14 like I I think the Seahawks are
16:17 a maybe the biggest candidate of anyone to draft a running back in the month.
16:23 That's probably fair that they they probably
16:25 will not a first round running back obviously, but I think a day two,
16:29 certainly a day three running back is
16:31 probably in the cards for the Seahawks there.
16:35 You saying I forgot about you saying Dashi Harris runs like he's wearing jeans.
16:38 I really forgot about that.
16:41 And maybe jeans.
16:42 We need across sports.
16:44 We need like the all like I don't know call them the all abbercrombie
16:49 or all all street clothes athletes because
16:52 you got Naji Harris who runs in jeans.
16:54 You have Draymond Green who shoots like he's wearing a backpack.
16:56 Like we need to just come up with all these athletes across
17:00 sports who play their sport like
17:02 they're just wearing regular clothes or something.
17:05 Um that's all.
17:07 This has nothing to do with what we're talking about,
17:09 but I just saw it from the best.
17:12 Uh, apparently Todd Monin missed the head coach photo because
17:16 he was getting a haircut for the head coach photo.
17:20 Wamp wamp.
17:25 I think McVey was doing interviews.
17:26 Everybody was worried about where McVey was,
17:28 but he he was probably doing interviews and stuff.
17:31 You don't think he was getting his haircut?
17:33 No, he he he wakes up and that thing is in the air, man.
17:36 He's good.
17:39 Oh, man.
17:39 Now I'm like, now I'm looking up Todd Monin's haircut of president.
17:44 Does he have hair?
17:45 He's got hair.
17:46 I I don't know that it's Look, if Todd I don't know.
17:49 Just the pictures I'm seeing.
17:50 If Todd Monin hadn't gotten a haircut,
17:52 I don't know that you'd be able to tell the difference.
17:53 I'm just saying.
17:54 You think he's a super
17:55 He has a nice set of hair.
17:57 Oh, probably.
17:58 Yes, absolutely.
18:00 100%.
18:01 100%.
18:02 So, Charles Davis has done his third version of his mockdraft.
18:06 Of course, you can find all of these uh at nfl.com.
18:09 Just go to NFL.com/mockdraft.
18:12 Simple enough.
18:12 Uh you can find all the different ones
18:14 that have been done by our various analysts.
18:17 You got uh Mike Van, Lance Zerline,
18:20 Charles Davis, Bucky Brooks, Chad Reutder, uh Daniel Jeremiah.
18:25 There's there's no shortage of mock drafts up on the site.
18:29 You can go check them out.
18:30 I picked Charles Davis's cuz it was the most recent.
18:33 So, no surprise, guys.
18:35 Number one, Fernando Mendoza going to the Raiders.
18:38 I know.
18:39 Shocking.
18:43 Again, I'm waiting for somebody to do a hot take, right?
18:45 A trade.
18:46 Something give us something to talk about.
18:48 You know, if we had, again, if we had rookie free agency,
18:51 we could talk about, hey man, Fernando Mendoza might be a good fit in Arizona.
18:54 Like, hey, why don't we why don't we explore that?
18:56 But no, we're never going to we're not allowed to have fun.
18:59 So, we're going to just talk about Fernando Mendoza
19:01 going to the Raiders forever and ever and ever.
19:03 Um, I don't know.
19:05 I F I think you and I have talked about this.
19:06 I don't know if we've talked about this, Lord.
19:08 Where is your excitement level for Mendoza?
19:11 Like your expectations for him, not just this year,
19:13 but maybe just across his career, too.
19:17 Um, I would say like it'll be better
19:20 than what they had last year with Gino, right?
19:23 So, like we'll be looking at a whole
19:25 new type of Raiders offense under Clinton QBak.
19:28 I mean, the old line they've improved,
19:31 but adding one cinder and Tyler Lindab is going
19:34 to need more than that just to protect Mendoza.
19:36 You still got to worry about those blind spots.
19:38 He has semi mobility.
19:39 But I think the excitement for Raiders fans right
19:42 now is that they have the number one pick.
19:44 They're spending it on the quarterback.
19:46 My expectations for him year one probably similar to Bryce
19:51 being that that O line is still kind of lacking.
19:54 I think trajectory it could be exactly where Bryce is in year two and three.
19:59 I think that the Raiders are on the up and coming if they keep
20:02 adding these pieces because you have two
20:04 dynamic players and Brock Bowers and Aston.
20:06 There's no way you can do worse than what you
20:08 did last year with these two players on your squad.
20:11 So again, I got a feeling like they'll
20:13 make some noise in year two and year three
20:15 if they continue all building this O line
20:17 and everything else just blossoms to be what it is.
20:20 The defense is sneaky good as well.
20:22 that secondary was like scrappy last year and you
20:25 get Max back as well causing chaos in the trenches.
20:28 I do think that the Raiders, they could be one of those feisty scrappy teams
20:31 like how I was talking about the Saints last year.
20:34 The one thing I will correct you on is it can always get worse, you know?
20:40 I mean, you're just like it couldn't be worse than last year.
20:42 I mean, ideally, no, but it can always be worse.
20:45 So, just keep that.
20:46 I I hope not.
20:48 I hope not.
20:48 Let's say that.
20:49 I hope not.
20:50 All right, that's enough for Mendoza talk.
20:52 Like it's just there's no there's no drama in it.
20:54 It's not fun to talk about cuz it's just it is what it is.
20:58 At number three though, Florio,
21:01 Charles Davis goes with Ty Simpson to the Arizona Cardinals,
21:05 which puts our man Jacobe Brassette,
21:07 at least in a competition, maybe on the bench.
21:11 Yeah, Simpson has become one of the most talked about prospects in this draft
21:17 and the draft industrial complex seems to be talking him up.
21:22 Three, that's maybe the highest I've seen him.
21:27 Wow.
21:26 I I had thought he would be a second round pick.
21:29 And I'm not going to say I know as much
21:31 as Charles Davis or or a lot of people who,
21:35 you know, are draft analysts for a living.
21:36 I just watched them play and I I kind of write my thoughts
21:39 down and then I I let the chips fall where they may.
21:43 Um when I was watching Ty Simpson though, it was like he he has a strong arm.
21:48 That's the first thing that like he could just like flick
21:50 his wrist and the ball will just go 50 yards downfield.
21:53 Like very strong arm.
21:54 He could put it on a rope.
21:56 Uh I I liked his pocket presence presence a lot.
21:59 like he he did a good job uh in Alabama when he would
22:03 like he would sense the pressure and like he he doesn't like panic.
22:07 He just keeps his eyes downfield.
22:09 He moves around the pocket.
22:10 He could use his legs a bit.
22:12 Um he's not like a running quarterback by any means,
22:14 but like he could use his legs to scramble and create more time.
22:18 He his mistakes weren't like backbreaking mistakes.
22:22 Like when he misses a target, it's usually overthrown.
22:25 Um so I I liked him.
22:28 The name I wrote down was M.
22:29 Jones though, who was a first round pick a few years ago,
22:33 but I think I thought he projected like,
22:37 you know, like people would be like, "All right,
22:39 we shouldn't use a first on a first on him,
22:41 especially a top three pick." But the thing is,
22:42 if the Cardinals do throw all of that out the window,
22:46 if they take him third overall,
22:47 like he will start, maybe he won't start week one,
22:51 but I would say by October he would be their starting quarterback.
22:54 it it we do this every year when a team drafts a young quarterback.
22:58 We say, "Well, they're not going to play.
23:00 They're going to sit on the bench." And then
23:02 by a month into the season that Jackson Dart,
23:04 we were having this exact conversation with a year ago.
23:07 Like the young quarterback is going to play.
23:09 Trust me.
23:10 Um so I think if you if you have Trey McBride or or if you want Trey McBride,
23:16 Marvin Harrison, you probably don't want this.
23:18 You want a season of Jacobe Brassette.
23:20 I think that is the best fantasy output,
23:24 but Simpson is it it seems like there's more and more
23:27 smoke coming and probably going to be a first round pick now.
23:32 Yeah, the the first round pick will play thing is real.
23:36 You only have so many years with that you have to evaluate him.
23:41 And I think especially if if it is Arizona,
23:44 right, for the sake of argument, it's the Cardinals.
23:47 Jacobe Brassette is not a good enough quarterback where you're like, "Hey, Ty,
23:52 we just want you to sit and watch for a year."
23:54 This isn't I know Jordan Love was not a early first round pick.
23:58 He was a late first round guy,
24:00 but it's not Jordan Love going to a team with a Hall of Fame level quarterback,
24:05 still playing at a reasonably high level where it's like,
24:09 "Hey, Jordan, you're going to have to wait your turn." And then once
24:12 we've moved on from Aaron Rogers and it's going to be your situ.
24:15 Nobody's like, "Hey, you got to wait behind Jacobe Brassette,
24:18 man." Like, nobody's doing that.
24:20 But I I'll take this in a different direction, Marcus.
24:23 please.
24:24 Because I think if they do take a method that there's no reason
24:28 to rush him in because when we look at the Jackson Dart situation,
24:32 Brian Debo was in the hot seat.
24:33 I want to go take you back in time back to my St.
24:36 Louis Rams when Jeff Fischer was on the hot
24:38 seat when he finally put Jared Goff in and probably
24:41 one of the worst games in starting
24:43 in the rain against the Dolphins and then exit left.
24:46 Jeff Fischer is gone.
24:48 But again, I look at this situation a little bit different.
24:52 Why not spend a year with Jacobe Brassette
24:54 and Garner Mchu there also that they signed?
24:58 Why not have Mike Laflur build this molding team if
25:02 again he thinks that Ty Simpson could eventually be his guy?
25:06 There's no rush because he just got there.
25:07 It's a first year head coach and I think the Cardinals are going to give
25:11 guys like him some years because look how long it took Ganon to get out.
25:15 Like I think if they take him at three, they got some years that they can really
25:19 mold him and get him ready to be polished.
25:22 But when is the last time outside of Jordan
25:24 Love that a first round quarterback didn't play?
25:27 Like last year they both played pretty
25:30 much immediately with Ward started week one.
25:32 Dark came in pretty quickly.
25:34 The year prior
25:35 hot seats Caleb Jaden May Penn McCarthy didn't play cuz he was hurt.
25:40 Knicks hot seat.
25:42 You go your name and quarterback crowd.
25:44 Anthony Richardson the year prior it's Kenny Picket Trevor
25:47 Lawrence Zack Wilson they all play and all failed.
25:52 I just think because Laflur is there right now,
25:56 why not start with the guy you if you're taking a quarterback at three,
25:59 this is the guy you think can be your future.
26:00 Why not let him start?
26:02 Because especially because if you're the Cardinals in that division,
26:06 nobody's expecting anything of you.
26:08 Nobody expect like but do we think Tai Simpson has the IQ of Jacobe Brassette?
26:14 He's employed for a reason for all these teams.
26:16 And also, we got to put some respect on him.
26:18 280 yards per game.
26:20 Who led the league?
26:20 Him.
26:21 I've been talking about Brassette for a while now.
26:23 Like I I rock with Brassette.
26:25 Like that is one of my guys, but
26:28 to like to what Marcus said,
26:30 he's been on all of those teams for a reason, right?
26:34 Like like there he is not a
26:36 he's been looked at as the serviceable bridge court.
26:38 I'm telling you, why would you?
26:40 He's not a franchise guy.
26:42 Ty Simpson is the thing on the is ideally
26:44 the thing on the other side of the bridge.
26:46 Like you're not going to keep building the bridge
26:47 when you're already the other side of the river.
26:50 And we have seen the NFL has changed, right?
26:52 Like they want to know what these kids are right away.
26:55 They want them to get the development and the seasoning because you need
26:58 to make a decision in a couple years like are we locking this guy up.
27:02 So the more you get to see them play
27:04 and develop them um like it's why Tyler Shuck
27:07 came in pretty quick last year like the NFL
27:10 has just become a young quarterback league in my opinion.
27:13 Tyler Shuck is like 33 years old.
27:15 Young and air quotes.
27:17 He was he was air quotes,
27:19 you know, like he was a rookie.
27:21 He has a lot of experience.
27:22 He stole the job.
27:23 I don't know off top.
27:24 I don't know off top of right now because I don't have
27:28 what's in front of me to see his experience of as a starter,
27:31 but I'm pretty sure he's on the cusp of not having that many starters.
27:35 Tyson does not have the he was only a full-time starter in his final year.
27:39 That was it.
27:40 So, we've seen this story play out multiple times,
27:43 and you're telling me a first year head coach is going to rush it
27:47 in when you have a Jacobe Brassette
27:49 to maintain what this offense needs to build.
27:52 They're not expected to win in year one, right?
27:54 But that's the thing is that like if you play Jacobe Brassette for a year,
27:58 you win three, four, maybe five games and you've learned nothing
28:02 about and you've learned nothing about the guy,
28:04 you've burned a year of his, you know, first four years.
28:07 you've burned that year and you haven't learned anything at all.
28:11 Put them in week 15, 16, 17, 18, whatever.
28:14 Put them in to get those type of development going answer come in
28:20 like Jacobe Brassette is the fantasy
28:22 answer because Jacobe Brassette elevates Michael Wilson.
28:25 Jacobe Brassette elevates Trey McBride.
28:28 Ty Simpson is the real football we're trying to build a franchise answer.
28:33 I don't think he's ready.
28:35 Maybe not.
28:36 But again, if you're taking him at three,
28:37 you you believe that he's ready or close close
28:40 enough to being ready that you're giving him reps.
28:42 I go back to I remember like I'm I'm aging myself here, but I remember having
28:47 You're not as old as me.
28:48 Keep going
28:49 about Mitchell Triscy when uh I forgot who the quarterback they signed.
28:53 They legitimately signed someone.
28:57 Yeah.
28:57 And Trisky was starting by October.
29:00 Like it's just the way the NFL operates.
29:02 Nick Fos was pretty bad and didn't like football anymore.
29:06 Brassette as much as he likes football and think he's a good player.
29:10 Like he did all of his work last year when they were down numerous scores.
29:14 Like you don't need someone out there putting up numbers and losing efforts.
29:21 I think if you're the Cardinals, you view it as this.
29:24 These snaps are better.
29:26 Like Jacob's going to start week one.
29:28 I wouldn't be surprised if he starts all of September,
29:30 but at some point pretty soon,
29:32 I think the Cardinals would be like, "We need to see what we have in this kid."
29:36 Uh, number five, Jeremiah Love going to the Giants with a fifth pick,
29:39 according to Charles Davis.
29:41 Uh, Florida, you are maybe the biggest Cam Scataboo guy here.
29:46 This seems no bueno for for both Love and Scataboo if they're both in the same.
29:50 more and more smoke for this and I hate
29:52 it because I like Cam Scataboo was an not like
29:56 you know oh he was pretty good like he was
29:58 a top five fantasy running back until he got hurt.
30:01 You can do that when you have no regard for your own body.
30:04 I saw I saw a post on Twitter this morning.
30:07 Uh it was from Pokemon.
30:08 It was like this is Cam Scaboo when he sees a defender
30:11 and it just said do you want to headbutt this but critical damage.
30:17 Yeah.
30:17 Like Jeremiah love would ruin any value for Scataboo
30:21 because he is so good at everything, right?
30:23 Like there's nothing I could sit here and be like, "Oh,
30:25 well Cam might be better." Like m
30:27 actually Cam would be the better shortyard guy.
30:30 That's the only concern I have with Jeremiah Love
30:32 is if he is going to be, you know, kind of how we saw with like Bejon where
30:36 the Falcons would get near the goal line and be like,
30:38 "We're bringing in the bigger back with Tyler
30:40 Alier." That is my only concern with Jeremiah Love.
30:43 I think he can do everything else.
30:45 He is super explosive, fantastic with the ball in his hands,
30:48 great uh receiver, all of that.
30:50 He is going to be a mid to early
30:53 second round pick in fantasy at the latest, I think.
30:56 But I would hate this because I love some Cam Scataboo.
31:00 I mean, just it's one of those things where they're sharing
31:02 a back field and it's just going to be really frustrating.
31:06 on a lesser level, and this is me going back to my Javvante Williams love again,
31:10 but it was, you know, knowing how much I en enjoyed watching him
31:14 at North Carolina and having him get drafted
31:16 to Denver when they had Melvin Gordon there
31:18 already and just being disappointed and, you know,
31:22 Adam Rank tried to talk me out of it and I kind of perked up a little bit,
31:26 but it just never was what I wanted it to be.
31:29 This this is sort of how I'm feeling
31:31 in advance if Jeremiah Love does go to the Giants
31:34 that they've got a guy that they like
31:36 who can take opportunity and you got another
31:38 guy who can be super explosive and this is
31:40 not exactly like peanut butter and chocolate mixing
31:42 the It is for football again for real
31:44 football for the Giants that'd be great for us.
31:47 It's it's a downgrade on both those guys cuz
31:50 they're going to be battling for touches and we
31:52 got to figure out what roles they're going
31:53 to slot into and it's not going to be fun.
31:55 On the real life football standpoint of it though,
31:58 Jeremiah Love already quoted and stated like, "Bro, I watch film,
32:02 I go home, I watch anime and play video games." Cam
32:06 Scato was out here licking windows at the Super Bowl media week.
32:09 Like, if you go to my Instagram, you can see it.
32:11 But we honestly see that Harball wants folks that love the game of football.
32:16 And I think that Jeremiah love going to New York.
32:19 That would be the best missing piece that they
32:21 had because their old line was actually serviceable last year.
32:24 I think Cam Scatteraboo loves football.
32:26 It's just that in his off time that he does.
32:28 In his in his off time, he's not watching anime.
32:30 Like, you know, just replace watching anime with licking windows.
32:33 Like, everybody needs something to do in their downtime.
32:35 Cam Scaboo just happens to do something different than Jeremiah Love.
32:40 I think it's an issue of not ready to hit someone the moment his eyes open.
32:46 I mean, you know, in in your free time, you watch you watch wrestling.
32:50 I I don't know.
32:51 I play I play Minecraft.
32:52 Like what?
32:53 It's just different, you know?
32:54 Like I'm not I'm not licking windows, though.
32:57 I mean, I wouldn't advise it.
32:58 Like, kids, don't try this at home, but you know, whatever, man.
33:02 You got to fill the fill the dead hours some kind of way.
33:04 Yeah, he's licking windows.
33:06 You're making a bunch of gizzies.
33:07 It's all the same.
33:08 It's all the same.
33:09 Oh, come on, bro.
33:10 It's all the same.
33:12 Hey, it's all the same.
33:15 Stop that.
33:16 I understand.
33:16 I really don't understand your irrational dislike of hot dogs.
33:19 They are delicious.
33:20 He has such a love for them that he doesn't like that we call it.
33:23 Don't stop.
33:24 Stop.
33:25 I am not the gizzy lord.
33:27 In fact, you seem to be so offended when we point
33:29 out the fact that you enjoy that you enjoy hot dogs.
33:32 Maybe if you stopped calling them gizzies and called them hot dogs,
33:34 you'd be less offended by that somehow.
33:36 It's an East Coast thing, man.
33:38 I know, but the word the word itself seems inappropriate.
33:40 I know it's not.
33:41 It just it's one of those words that's not inappropriate,
33:43 but sounds inappropriate.
33:45 Lock monster.
33:46 Just call them hot dogs like regular humans do and you're fine.
33:51 His favorite athlete is Joey Chestnut.
33:54 Finest man.
33:55 Shout out Shout out to Valo California.
33:58 Uh at number six, Charles has the Browns taking Carell Tate.
34:04 Laquan, are we just riding off Carnell Tate cuz he's going to the Browns?
34:07 Does that just mean it's it's over?
34:08 Short answer, yes, because it's over.
34:11 It was a It was a nice ride.
34:12 We had a great, you know, pre-draft,
34:15 but to be honest, Shador changes his number two.
34:19 I think Todd Mon, that's all we have.
34:23 That's all we have in Cleveland.
34:25 The to look at and be like, okay, maybe change is on the way, you know,
34:30 like I want to be as loyal as the Browns fans are to the Browns because
34:34 it's just like you they could paint any
34:37 type of picture that it's it's Super Bowl, you know what I mean?
34:40 Like just seeing that them reacting to these mock drafts.
34:44 They want Carnell Tate.
34:45 They want Jordan Tight.
34:46 They want Jeremiah Love.
34:48 I mean guys like hold up Quinn Sean Junkkins is there.
34:50 But I think when we look at Carnell Tate going to the Browns,
34:54 it's not going to be as you know our expectations are going
34:58 to be as high as that we thought if he went anywhere else.
35:02 I'm going to say a thing that I know is fully
35:05 and totally unfair of me to ask Browns fans to do.
35:10 Right.
35:10 I get it.
35:11 But I'm going to say it anyway.
35:12 Y'all should stop going to games.
35:16 No, no, no.
35:16 You should really stop going to games and do what?
35:19 Marcus,
35:21 lick window again.
35:25 Re watch anime.
35:26 I mean, my my point being that, and I
35:29 understand the NFL has huge revenue sharing, and so much of its revenue,
35:32 and so much of the team revenue comes
35:34 from TV deals and merchandising and what have you,
35:37 but at some point, bad teams stay bad for a reason.
35:42 And usually, it's a thing that starts at the top.
35:44 It starts with ownership.
35:46 It starts with front offices.
35:47 It starts with just a continual series
35:49 of bad decisions being made over and over again.
35:53 But there's no motivation for those ownership
35:56 groups or those front offices to get
35:58 better when 8 n times a year they look out and the place is packed.
36:05 And it it it sort of meant one thing back in the days.
36:08 I'm old enough to remember NFL blackout rules where if
36:11 you hadn't sold like 75% of your tickets by Thursday,
36:15 then the game wasn't going to be on TV in the local market.
36:17 So it made it made sense.
36:18 Hey, we got to show up so the games can
36:20 be on TV so we can get that that recognition.
36:22 That doesn't really exist anymore.
36:25 And so I get it.
36:26 I understand how much the Browns mean to the community.
36:30 I know how much they mean to the fan base.
36:32 I understand.
36:33 That's why that's why I preface this by saying
36:34 I know it's an unfair thing to ask.
36:36 But if y'all want to stop adding names to that ridiculous
36:39 quarterback jersey that now runs like a CVS receipt,
36:43 like at some point, at some point the fan
36:46 base has to leverage what power it has.
36:49 And really the only power they have is to just not show up.
36:52 Like I want better for the I don't I'm indifferent to the Browns generally.
36:56 I I'm sure I've made my share of Cleveland Browns,
36:58 you know, factory of sadness jokes or what have you,
37:01 but I do want better for this fan base that has been awful because I'm
37:04 old enough to remember back in the 80s and 90s when the Browns were good,
37:08 when they were competitive and they were going in deep playoff runs.
37:12 That hasn't happened.
37:13 You could be 35 years old and you don't know success for the Cleveland Browns.
37:18 The only way I think it gets better is at some point they
37:22 have to flex their muscle as a fan base and say, "F you.
37:26 We're not showing up until you get your stuff
37:28 together." I almost cursed multiple times in there.
37:30 Until you get your stuff together, Kyrie, get the bleep button.
37:34 Like, and like again,
37:36 I I I understand like if if all Browns fans are right now, you know,
37:40 giving the middle finger to their phones
37:42 or computers listening to this and saying screw you, I totally understand.
37:47 But I don't I don't know any other way for the Browns to get
37:50 better until their fans basically rise up in a group and tell ownership,
37:56 "We are sick of this and we're not showing up again until you figure it out."
38:02 That's all great.
38:05 Um, but the the latest up world
38:09 is that they are hopeful that Deshun Watson could become the Deshaawn
38:13 Watson that they thought he was when they signed him, right?
38:16 They're giving him a fresh start.
38:17 They're saying he has a great chance to be their starter and everything.
38:21 Like
38:21 I want to be the second baseman for the Dodgers.
38:23 I mean, there's a lot of things out there that we want.
38:25 It's good.
38:26 This isn't like Deshaawn Watson saying like I
38:28 think I'm the like this is the owner
38:30 of the team saying he is going to have
38:32 a strong chance to be our week one starter.
38:34 Like Browns fans and Miles Garrett,
38:38 y'all y'all should have got out when you had the chance.
38:40 Had the chance, man.
38:41 Miles Garrett is even worse because like he
38:43 actually had the ch like if I'm from Cleveland.
38:45 I live in Cleveland.
38:46 I work in Cleveland.
38:47 I'm not just picking up my move.
38:49 Like Miles Garrett, you you could have left.
38:51 You you could have left for real.
38:53 Now you're hanging out sidelines at like Clippers games.
38:55 Like you could have just come anywhere.
38:57 You could have lived in LA if you wanted to like do something else.
39:02 Anyway, so now Sorry about your luck, Carell Tate.
39:06 We have, I guess, decided that it's going
39:08 to be uphill sledding for you if you get drafted.
39:11 Go ahead and clock out, chief.
39:13 Yeah, go ahead.
39:14 Tough scene.
39:15 Going through Charles Davis's mockdraft 3.0,
39:17 which you can find at n.com/mockdraft.
39:20 And at the number eight spot, Charles Davis has the Saints taking Jordan Tyson.
39:27 LQ, you love Jordan Tyson.
39:30 You and Chris Olive are like bffs now, apparently.
39:36 Does this get you excited to see Jordan Tyson in New Orleans?
39:40 It does.
39:41 It does.
39:41 It adds another weapon to that offense.
39:43 I think honestly with Jawan Johnson, you know,
39:46 being the second fiddle to Chris Olive,
39:48 this adds another dynamic to this offense.
39:50 I think they can attack downfield even more because we saw
39:53 Chris Olive leave all wide receivers in targets of 20 plus yards.
39:57 And I think that deep ball is going to get a little bit more accurate with Tyler
40:01 Shook if you have somebody like Jordan Tyson
40:03 that you're able to just dump off intermediate field.
40:06 He can hit on all three phases, man, just based on his twitchy route running.
40:09 Like I know that Florio gave him the comp Odell Beckham,
40:12 but I see a lot of that Justin Jefferson DNA in him
40:15 as well where he makes those type of big catches downfield.
40:18 So I think this would be a huge move
40:21 for the Saints if they go out there and get Jordan Tyson.
40:24 And then look, they're in contract extension talks with Chris Olive.
40:27 So I think Olive still remains as that wide receiver one there.
40:31 And I still think that I got him right where I got him,
40:34 you know, in my wide receiver rankings as a top six wide receiver this year.
40:40 I have this feeling, Florio, I'm going to be sneaky heavy on the Saints.
40:45 And at least I right.
40:48 I I said multiple times that I thought Travis Hin was one of the best
40:54 moves of free agency cuz I think I think we can say adios to Alvin Chimera.
41:00 We saw Chris Olive get the glow up.
41:03 We saw Tyler Shuck step up and really make
41:05 a strong chase to be their guy at quarterback.
41:08 I don't know.
41:09 I don't know how long this goes,
41:10 but he made a case to be the starter for next year without a doubt.
41:15 Lacoan mentioned Jawan Johnson who made many many
41:18 appearances in the sleeper column last last year.
41:22 I we we might really and if they draft a wide receiver in the top 10,
41:27 we really might be heavy on the Saints this year.
41:30 Yeah, especially cuz they could be one of those teams
41:32 who's trailing a lot and having to throw the ball,
41:34 which is what they were down the stretch last year,
41:36 which is what uh really helped Olaf.
41:39 Look, I'm in on Olve where his ADP is in the third round.
41:43 top six.
41:43 I'm completely out on that.
41:46 Uh just because I think I I don't want
41:48 to draft him at where I think his ceiling is,
41:51 but I don't expect him to go there.
41:53 I won't have him in any drafts with LQ,
41:55 but in my other leagues in the third round, I'll be all about it.
41:59 Um I'm not really doing the Jawan
42:01 Johnson thing because I've I've done it before.
42:04 There's a couple of good weeks.
42:06 It's all floor.
42:07 Um but I'm in on Han.
42:10 I'm in on uh if Jordan Tyson was to go there, I'm in on him.
42:13 Tyson is my wide receiver one in this class.
42:16 I I think it's close between him and Tate and they do a lot of similar stuff.
42:20 They both are like super reliable, big catch radius kind of guys.
42:24 I just think Tyson has that ability to make a special play
42:29 that I I didn't see as much when I was watching Tate.
42:32 Um, I Tyson did a lot of really special
42:36 things and I know ASU receivers haven't always worked out,
42:39 but he is my one in this class and I would I would
42:42 really like him on the Saints because it would allow them versatility, right?
42:46 Like he could be the X.
42:48 He could also play in inside though at times and that would allow Olive,
42:52 who I think is at his best from the slot, uh, to play there a lot more,
42:56 but you would just be able to move all the pieces around,
42:59 which I think is always a good thing.
43:01 Is there a bonafide wide receiver one in this class?
43:06 I mean, it doesn't feel like there's a guy I I know Marvin
43:09 Harrison hasn't panned out so far the way that we thought he would,
43:14 but it doesn't seem like there's a guy like that.
43:18 The guy that is just like, "Oh, yeah.
43:20 No, this is this is the number one wide receiver, right?
43:22 There's no there's no Malik Neighbors.
43:24 There's no Justin Jefferson.
43:25 And it just doesn't it feels like there's a lot of guys
43:27 who can be really really good as a team's number two,
43:32 but it just I I don't know if we've found that guy that's just like,
43:35 "Yeah, this is this is the one." I think for real life purposes,
43:38 I think Carnell Tate is undebatably the wide receiver one.
43:42 And that goes beyond of him being a threat
43:45 in all three levels because out of this wide receiver class,
43:48 he's elite at run blocking.
43:50 And I think that's what more teams are looking for.
43:53 Is he a allaround type of wide receiver?
43:55 Cuz when you look at him,
43:56 when he contributes to the run blocking phase of wherever,
43:59 you know, he goes, they're going to look at that as like,
44:01 hey, we're going to want to run the ball ground and pound
44:04 because he's going to be able as a guy on the perimeter.
44:06 I mean, again, Shawn McVey loves his wide receivers block.
44:10 We're sitting at 13.
44:12 If we could trade up and get ourselves a Carnell Tate,
44:14 then we're looking pretty pretty.
44:16 But I think more so, undoubtedly, he's the wide receiver one of this class.
44:21 Yeah, I mean I think he is.
44:22 But again, it's not I guess when you hear conversations about the draft.
44:27 No, I love Tyson.
44:28 I I love Tyson, but you know,
44:30 the red flags are going to just be hesitant of the injury history with him.
44:34 And I think a lot of people are looking
44:36 at that and probably don't want to spend that high investment.
44:40 So that's why I think Carnell Tate is
44:42 the first wide receiver off the board in the draft.
44:44 It wouldn't surprise me if he's the first off the board.
44:47 doesn't mean it'll be the like Malik
44:48 Neighbors is better than Marvin Harrison Jr.
44:50 and Marvin Harrison was the first one drafted
44:52 and you you can paint that picture in that parallel as well
44:55 where I can agree with you that Marvin Harrison, Carnell Tate.
44:58 Yeah, obviously.
44:59 And then you were all in on Malik Neighbors as the wide receiver won that.
45:02 I will say I think it's 1 A, one B.
45:04 Like I I I think Tate probably gets drafted first.
45:07 Most more people think that he is the one,
45:10 but it to me I think these two one of the be the best receiver from this class.
45:16 I would be surprised if it's not one of these two.
45:18 I think there's a falloff after them.
45:22 Go ahead.
45:23 Go ahead.
45:24 No lemon in there.
45:25 I look You guys know how I feel about Mai Lemon.
45:28 I think he's I think he's I won't say he's being underrated, right?
45:31 He's still considered one of the top three prospects in this draft.
45:34 So, he's not underrated.
45:35 Uh I just I just think it's a draft class that doesn't have a lot of sizzle.
45:40 That doesn't mean these guys are going to be bad.
45:42 There just isn't a ton of sizzle with them.
45:44 It's kind of like the uh the now well now we look back on it like JSN
45:48 but when that JSN Z Flowers uh Quinton Johnston
45:52 I forget who the fourth rece uh Jordan Addison
45:55 that receiver class we were like it's a lot of good not
45:58 a lot of like elite sizzle like you were saying and then JS but
46:03 and I yeah I mean he did but I and I think
46:05 it feels like this is sort of sort of there too as well.
46:08 At number 11, according to Charles Davis, the Dolphins taking Kenyan Sadik,
46:14 who for fantasy purposes seems like the only tight end
46:18 that actually is going to get any run in in real drafts,
46:23 in dynasty startup drafts, you know, rookie drafts, what have you.
46:28 I have is I'm assuming this is your guy out of this class.
46:31 out here cuz who else could it be?
46:34 Starting to hear the chatter that maybe
46:36 the athletic testing aside from the speed
46:40 that maybe maybe we're a little too high
46:42 on him that maybe he has bust potential.
46:45 I don't want to I don't want to I take
46:47 no pleasure in saying this, but that's as you would say,
46:49 that's what the fantasy streets are saying right now.
46:51 I I think bust potential is fair because it's
46:54 a tight end and I like the Dolphins fit.
46:57 I think he goes there, he'll be the number one option.
46:59 Obviously, as of today,
47:00 what we see they have in their wide receiver room, it's not as strong.
47:04 But I think if Sadi goes there,
47:05 then we're going to get an immediately fantasy impact.
47:08 And I think honestly, him demanding that target share,
47:11 we look at him as an athletic freak of what he's able to do.
47:14 He's essentially a big body wide receiver.
47:16 And you see these types like the John Smiths, the Ronda Gaskins to, you know,
47:21 to all these other athletic, you know, tight ends that are able to get Chigs.
47:25 I think that, you know,
47:26 Sadi fits in that category where he's going to make an impact
47:29 in year one if he lands in a fairly target share, a tight end friendly offense.
47:34 But when we have Malik Willis with only six
47:37 starts and we have a very small sample size,
47:39 it's still that question mark of how much
47:41 are they going to get out of Kenyan Sadique,
47:44 how much value are these targets going to be?
47:46 Cuz is this going to be an offense that's
47:48 going to be in more scoring opportunities than not?
47:50 because we're going to need touchdowns from him
47:52 to be able to be a weekly starter.
47:55 I would think this feels like one of those picks, Mike,
47:59 that it just doesn't seem like a good
48:03 just if we're just talking straight up football.
48:05 It just seems like not a great choice for the Dolphins
48:09 in the sense of they have so many holes, so many things they need to
48:14 essentially will be replacing Waddle.
48:18 But it's like, no, a top 12 pick on a tight end when you
48:23 have so many other needs right now just feels like if they need a wide receiver.
48:29 Yeah, if they were to take one of Tate or Tyson,
48:31 I think we feel different about this pick.
48:33 I what I'm guessing this means is that people are at least Charles Davis,
48:39 but if the if the Dolphins were to do
48:41 this, what this would tell me is they think Sadique is
48:44 better than any of the other wide receivers on the board
48:46 and he would be the third best pass catcher, right?
48:49 Because that's they're desperate.
48:51 They are I don't know if I've ever seen a And look,
48:54 I am a Bills fan who desperately needed a wide receiver.
48:57 I don't know if I've seen a wide receiver room this bad.
49:00 like 22 Atwell, Jaylen Tolbert, Malik Washington, those are your top three.
49:05 Stop.
49:05 Yeah, right there.
49:06 They and if you you invested in Malik Willis,
49:09 so you need to give him weapons to give him a chance.
49:12 So, I do think whatever they do at pick 11 is a weapon, a pass catcher,
49:18 but if those top two receivers are off the board,
49:21 there might be a world where like kind of like Kyle Pittz.
49:23 I mean, he went ahead of Jamar Chase, which is ridiculous in retrospect,
49:26 but like they were like he's the best weapon
49:30 on the board and that's what we're going to take.
49:33 I guess I would just for us, we love the idea of having a pass catcher.
49:38 If I'm Malik Willis, maybe I'm like, "Hey, maybe get somebody to block for me,
49:43 like somebody who can protect me up front." True.
49:45 Because it's So, you remember when the Bengals had
49:50 the option of Jamar Chase or Pen Su, right?
49:53 Y'all remember the meme that that showed up, right?
49:55 Where it was like it was, you know, Joe Burrow, Pane Su, anybody.
49:59 He's like throwing a bomb.
50:00 It's like anybody else, right?
50:02 And it was and then the other side was Joe Burrow on his back,
50:06 Jamar Chase down here and like the the Bengals offensive line
50:10 in the middle like Kenyan City seems like a really great option.
50:15 But if it looks like the Titans offense last year
50:18 where Cam Ward was like one two run Chuck like it doesn't quite hit the same.
50:24 I can mi I can make sense of this pick at 30 because they have two first round
50:27 picks but at 11 and you take him off
50:30 the board with still a Mai Lemon with still like
50:34 at let's say Jordan Tyson still on the board
50:36 like that would be like reaching cuz like I
50:39 don't think Sadi's going to go as high as everybody
50:42 thinks he is because again it's a tight end.
50:44 Not many of these teams actually need a tight end.
50:47 They either have a starter or already drafted one last year.
50:50 So, I think at 11 taking a tight end,
50:52 then yeah, we're we're having the same conversation we're having now.
50:55 Like, they're in trouble.
50:57 Yeah.
50:57 Um, it has become more of a trend though, tight ends in the first round.
51:02 Like, we had two in the top 15 picks last year.
51:05 Yeah.
51:05 No, you're right.
51:06 It is.
51:06 I don't know if it's I don't know.
51:09 I'm not saying what they should do, but
51:11 Eli Sters is the second tight end prospect,
51:14 and I think there's still a gap between him and Sadi, you know,
51:17 like I I just don't see them taking him
51:20 at 11 when you could possibly get him at 30, you know, like that.
51:23 That'll just be a huge reach.
51:27 I don't know if he's there at 30 though
51:28 with the way that tight ends have been getting drafted lately.
51:32 I Yeah.
51:34 Um, the next up on the list at number 13, your boy,
51:40 it's Mai Limited or the Panthers.
51:42 Now, look, I know how you guys feel.
51:44 This is interesting.
51:45 I don't you guys, you know, it's not fair to say you dislike Mai Limit.
51:48 You just like the other two guys better.
51:50 And that's fine.
51:50 Like, that's fair.
51:51 Whatever.
51:52 Mai Limit of the Panthers, though, right?
51:54 Putting him in that offense, having him play across from from T McMillan,
51:59 uh, Tero McMillan because his mother does not like T.
52:03 um giving Bryce Young another option.
52:07 I don't know, Florio.
52:08 I like the fit at least.
52:10 Just he's a talented guy.
52:11 You put him there where he doesn't have to have
52:12 the whole weight of the world on his shoulders.
52:15 It seems like a really nice opportunity and it would allow him to to play
52:18 in the slot probably as the primary option there,
52:22 which I think is where he's best suited.
52:24 He he can play out wide.
52:27 I do think Marcus, and you could speak on this better than me,
52:30 I think Lemon is one of these prospects that he's kind
52:34 of held back by the way he was used in college.
52:37 Like they weren't using him as a traditional ex.
52:40 They weren't using him to stretch out the fields.
52:43 I I wrote that like I and maybe this is because I'm just uh scarred from it.
52:49 It was like watching the Bills use Khil Shakir all year.
52:52 like you cannot catch a ball if we do
52:55 not see the line of scrimmage on the field.
52:57 Like it I I know at times Lemon was used more than that, but so many
53:00 of his touches in my opinion at least
53:02 were just like generated uh quick comeback routes,
53:06 stuff like that, like little screens and he's fantastic
53:09 with the ball in his hands after the catch.
53:11 But I I again, it's not his fault,
53:14 but I wish we got to see him used a little bit more like a real number one.
53:19 Um, on the Panthers though, he would be a good fit there.
53:22 It It would be their third first round wide receiver
53:25 in the last four drafts, which is a lot, but
53:29 I guess that's saying something more about uh
53:31 one of the other two that they've already drafted.
53:34 But you have Jaylen Coker there as well,
53:36 who I think is underrated and could be in the slot.
53:38 So, like my my first thought here was like I get it and I I you
53:43 want to surround Bryce Young with weapons and I think he makes them better,
53:47 but I don't think this is a dream fit for either side.
53:51 I think it's if this were to happen, I think it's more of a shot across the bout
53:55 Xavier Legette is is kind of what that is.
53:57 I don't want to say his name.
53:58 He's a friend of the show.
54:00 It is.
54:01 It is what it is.
54:02 It is what it is.
54:03 You know, I think that's just I think it's the organization.
54:06 He's a huge red zone threat.
54:07 He's a huge red zone threat.
54:08 I don't think that goes away.
54:10 I think your your feeling on Limon and his usage was not wrong.
54:15 He was the guy they just we just want
54:16 to get the ball in your hands however we can.
54:19 I think Jacobe Lane was the guy they
54:21 looked at more not as a necessarily traditional X,
54:23 but he was the downfield guy and it was
54:26 and I think that's where the Aman Rock comparisons come
54:29 in because we're going to keep you near the line
54:32 of scrimmage cuz we just want you to use your athleticism.
54:34 let's put the ball in your hands,
54:36 see if you can make some guys miss, see if you can just get downfield.
54:39 And so because of that, you know,
54:41 it always comes back to the thing I say every year about one or two prospects.
54:44 Just because we didn't see a guy do
54:46 something doesn't mean that that guy can't do something.
54:48 And so I think we're going to find out about uh Mai Lemon there.
54:52 Uh last one, number 21, the Steelers taking Omar Cooper Jr.
54:59 I I don't know, maybe something about the Steelers.
55:01 It just it just it's not sexy.
55:05 Yes, that's what it is.
55:06 It's just like maybe this works out.
55:08 And it's just because the Steelers are just treading water right now.
55:13 We're all expecting Aaron Rogers is going to be the quarterback again this year.
55:17 The the current wide receivers they have there in DK Medaf and Michael Pitman.
55:22 Like they're nice players, but they don't necessarily blow you away.
55:25 We're not we're not trying to pull them up the board in fantasy.
55:28 We're drafting them.
55:30 So adding Cooper, it just feels like more of like, yeah,
55:34 I guess, you know, it's not about Cooper, it's about the landing spot.
55:38 And nothing about it gets me excited.
55:40 And I think with this deep wide receiver class,
55:42 there's going to be a lot of this.
55:44 Like there's going to be guys that we know that are
55:46 talented that could probably do it and make a year one impact,
55:49 but there may be situations like where Cooper ends up
55:52 with the Steelers and we're going to have to wait.
55:54 And because when you have a Pitman, when you have a DK Metaf,
55:57 there isn't much room for him to actually come in with a valuable target share.
56:02 So, it's like you love the talent,
56:04 you hope that he lands somewhere that actually needs
56:06 wide receivers where I think he's NFL ready ready.
56:09 Like, I think he's a really polished route runner.
56:11 He gives me like AJ Brown 2.0 vibes of his toughness,
56:15 his ability after the catch.
56:17 Like, he's basically a running back in open space.
56:19 and those type of wide receivers, you want to give them a chance,
56:23 an opportunity on the field to display this at a fulltime basis.
56:27 So like him landing in Pittsburgh,
56:29 it's like a downer kind of like, you know, in rookie drafts.
56:32 Like this is why we do rookie drafts after the draft because I know
56:35 some folks that are doing rookie drafts
56:37 next week just because they're itching to draft.
56:40 And I know again like o like Omar to me feels like
56:44 he should be a first round draft pick like in the late you
56:47 know 20s maybe even in that 2025 spot but again I just
56:52 feel like him landing here it just kind of turns you off completely.
56:57 Florida feels like the so the Steelers might be my anti-saints whereas
57:01 like hey man I I sneakily might have a lot of Saints.
57:04 I'm very blatantly not.
57:07 If I draft a Steeler, you can rest assured that it'll be followed by this sound.
57:16 It's going to be taking any of them.
57:19 Like I don't there's not a single Steeler that at I want Rico.
57:25 I want Rico.
57:25 I I don't I I don't I don't want
57:30 I like that he is playing the villain right now.
57:32 Like he's angry, bro.
57:34 like he is he partly because he he thinks he's Levy on Bell,
57:41 but um like I I do think I I think it's going to be
57:44 a lot like last year where maybe Warren
57:46 is now the Kenneth Gainwell in this situation,
57:48 but like they're going to eat off of each other's plates in a very annoying way.
57:52 I DK and Pitman are going to eat off of each other's plates and I don't
57:57 trust that the passing attack is going to be much better than it was last year.
58:00 Like I I just want absolutely no.
58:03 And if they if you add I like Omar Cooper.
58:06 I do agree with LQ.
58:07 He's someone you kind of got to generate touches for.
58:09 I I wrote Jaden Reed as one of the names while watching him, but like
58:14 if if you could generate touches for him in Pittsburgh,
58:16 you'll be generating them for someone else's fantasy team.
58:20 Yeah.
58:20 So, here's something interesting.
58:21 And I I look I understand there's not a ton of value
58:24 in depth charts this time of year cuz so many things can change.
58:27 But just looking at these Steelers depth chart on our lads
58:30 they have Darnell Washington listed ahead of Pat Frymouth.
58:35 Wow.
58:36 Right.
58:37 Is it because of the height?
58:38 Is it because of the height?
58:40 I mean he is he is a monster on wheels is is what he is.
58:44 Look.
58:44 And again it's it's late March so whatever.
58:48 like this is obviously Mike McCarthy made Robert Tonion fantasy relevant.
58:53 It's obviously not gospel,
58:54 but I just saw that as I was looking at the depth chart.
58:56 I'm like that's that's interesting.
59:00 Wow.
